Morphy Richards Saute and Soup Maker 501014 Brushed Stainless Steel Soup Maker

Simple Steps

The Soup Maker is designed to be quick and easy to use. Simply prepare and chop your ingredients into small pieces, place them inside the soup maker and choose either the smooth or chunky setting. For best results chop your ingredients to 1 – 2 cm pieces to allow quicker cooking and better blending. The easy to use control panel features an LED countdown display that shows exactly how long your soup has left to cook while you just sit back and let your soup maker do the hard work for you.

Preparing Your Soup Maker

Align the soup maker lid with the jug to ensure the lid slots into the unit correctly. If not aligned correctly the soup maker will not perform. Once you have set the programme you wish to use, please do not lift the lid to see your soup, until the cycle has completely finished. If you lift the lid the programme will cut out and re-set back to the beginning.

Made to Your Taste

The Smooth programme blends and gently cooks soup in just 21 minutes, while the Chunky programme cooks wholesome soup with a thicker consistency in 28 minutes. If your soup is a little too chunky for your liking, just press the blend button until the texture of the soup is to your taste.

Pause Function

The soup maker also features a pause function which allows you to remove the lid part way through the cooking cycle, add herbs, spices or seasoning and when you reapply the lid the program will remember the time that is left and finish the cooking cycle. This soup maker even comes with an additional juice function, so you can create delicious, healthy smoothies and juice drinks too.

Want to give your coworkers food envy? This makes life and soup so easy!
Saut mode is amazing and saves having to get your onions and garlic ready in another pan. It will take a while for the high cost to offset supermarket soups but i think mine so far have been much more flavoursome!
Only used smoothie option once and it was delish. The booklet with it has lots of recipes that are easy to follow and allow you to explore and experiment with ingredients.

What I like about this product is it’s simple to use although you can get the same results in less time with a hand blender. I have bought this more for convenience as I usually make my own soup in a large pan.

But with this product you can get on with your other cooking especially if preparing for a dinner party . It’s on a timer it doesn’t have an after odour when it is cleaned .
    Full marks.

If you like vegetable soups this one is a must. Throw in the ingredients, leave it do its stuff and hey presto fresh vegetable soup. Only downside is the blade and rotator are fixed to the motor in the head so not light and a bit of a knack to clean but easily mastered. Definitely not a dishwasher job.

This is fantastic – once you’ve set it to go it does exactly what it says. So far I’ve only made smooth soups and each
one has been so tasty. I’m delighted with my purchase.

This is so easy to use and makes a perfect amount of soup for four. There is only my husband and I at home now so that’s great for us. Wouldn’t have been big enough when the children lived at home. The saut function is really good and saves using another pan. It’s really easy to clean after making soup too.

One of the best if not THE best electrical gadgets I have ever bought. So easy to use and soup tastes wonderful. It takes so little time and the serrator mechanism is an added bonus giving choice between chunky or smooth or even in between soup. If you like homemade soup I would definitely recommend this soup maker.

Robust, used it already about 100 times.
Delicious soup from raw vegetables in just over 20 mins, flavour improves after standing a while.
Be careful not to drip condensation from the top onto the electrical connector as this will trip mains – easily avoided by tilting lid forward as you lift.
Would benefit from a stay warm/reheat function.

I have never had heard about soupmakers before (coming from a tropical country). I love this product because it allows making soups very easily, especially because there is a saute function. The only downside is that there is a limit of 1,3 liters to 1,6 liters. Other than that, perfect.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersBeing a huge fan of homemade soup, I’ve wanted an electric soup maker ever since the first ones came onto the market; finally got around to reading reviews of the confusing number now available and chose this one based on the great reviews and very competitive price. (Wanted one with saute function for added flavour.)
What a revelation! It’s amazing! So simple to use, easy to clean and (most importantly for me) healthy soups are created in around 25 minutes (often from veg. that I might have previously have thrown away). FABULOUS! Thank you Morphy Richards. Will recommended to anyone who wants a soup maker.

I purchased this for my husband for his Christmas, with this being our first soup maker, we were recommended this item by a friend and you did not disappoint.

Easy to use, so simple my 10 year old daughter even makes her own soup.
We wanted this one so it would saute the vegetables for more flavouring. Highly recommend the Morphy RIchards Saute and Soup Maker for anyone new to soup making or even and an upgrade, and bonus it wasn’t too expensive also.

This is one of the best things I have ever bought. The soups are delicious & so easy to make- as well as being nutritious & healthy . The saut part is useful too- i’ve used low cal sprays for onions, bacon etc . Have recommended this model to others . I would not be without it now.

A fantastic product! All the soups I have made are nice. The soup maker makes your life easier as well having all ingredients in one pot only. The saut option is great for onions or bacon. The choice of chunky or blended is brilliant. It takes around 20 minutes to have your soup ready while you do something else. It switches itself off. An excellent purchase for me

I wasn’t that keen on buying this but people kept suggesting this to me so I eventually gave it.

I actually really like it, usually make soup every week now as it’s so quick and easy to do.

The cleaning is a bit annoying as you can’t put the parts into the sink but it’s not overly bad that you’d deduct a star off for.

Haven’t had it very long so can’t really judge durability but it seems fine. Absolutely loved the soup I have made so far and I really like the fact that I can saut in the soup maker rather than using another pan. I just wish it came with more recipes in the instruction book but I have bought a recipe book and now feel more confident to experiment myself.

  23. Anonymous says:

Easy to use and to clean. Saute function is useful as you don’t have to use a separate pan. Negatives are that it does not switch itself off at the end of the cycle, and you have to stand the lid on its handle if you take it off mid cooking, making it difficult to pick up again.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersMy first soup maker but I can’t imagine any improvements are needed to this model. It makes a good quantity of soup for 2-3 hungry people or 4-6 normal people :-). I initially went through the recipes but now I just chuck in whatever left over veg I have and let it do its magic! Very useful time saving appliance. Veg to soup takes about 30 mins depending on how much chopping you do. Sometimes I am very lazy and hardly chop the veg at all and it still comes out great 🙂

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is a great gadget, the saute function works extremely well, makes excellent soups and so quick and easy to use. I always take the lid straight off and clean whilst damp. I’ve never had a problem with this item and cannot recommend it enough. I usually use the smooth version for soups as that’s how I prefer them and you can basically adapt any soup recipe.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersUsed once so far. Lovely smooth tomato and basil soup. Easy and intuitive to use. Occasional bursts of really loud, startling noise when cooking. Needs washing out straight away to avoid sticking. Blades very sharp so care needed when wiping down. Avoids having to use separate blender and the manual blend function gives options for amount of mixing from rough chopped to smooth, and for adding ingredients later. Lid really heavy. Made enough soup for 5 good sized portions keeping within level limits. Good buy!

So far so good, I’ve tried a few different recipes and it’s a great kitchen gadget. However, if I was to buy it again I don’t think I’d bother with the saute function as the base is so narrow it’s difficult to saute vegetables properly. Overall a good buy and very handy for preparing lunches for work.

We were persuaded to buy this by by friends & it worked excellent for 11months. It produces excellent soup of a many varieties. Do not be afraid to explore different recipes using what veg you have left. Hence it reduces waste. Now the problem after 11 months the blade broke off the shaft, luckly I noticed when I took the top off so neither the top blade or scew or washer ened up on on the dinner table. No reply on there help line yet??

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI am obsessed with my soup maker. obsessed! I never made homemade soup beforehand, despite my hate of added sugar and artificial nonsense in store-bought soup, but the whole pot/blending thing was just too much effort and cleaning. NOW I make soup every day- honestly, it’s the quickest, easiest thing!

Chuck in your veg & stock, and that’s it. I really like the saute option on this machine- I do onions before I add the veg.
Never had it boil over or spill or anything like that. It is simply superb! 21 mins later, your soup is ready. I only wish it made MORE (but i’ve looked around and this is pretty much the largest volume available). Makes about 4-6 bowls. Also, it’s so easy that doing it regularly is not exactly a hardship!

I didn’t believe the cleaning would be easy, but it’s a literal rinse and repeat situation.

I really like this gadget and have made lots of soups. The saute part is lost on me tho as it has ALWAYS burnt whatever I have sauteed because there is simply not a big enough area to fry things off…So I just pan fry the onions etc before adding…otherwise a great quick gadget for delicious home made soups

Really pleased with this, especially the saute facility. I know its not that hard to make soups but this makes it so much easier. Just put in all the ingredients and set to the right setting. Would mention, as someone else did, the noise when blending can come as a bit of a surprise and is definitely not relished by our dog!

So far I have made several batches of soups in this maker, and all have turned out great. The saute function is highly recommended if you are considering other models, it saves a lot of time, energy and washing up to get it all done in the same pot. Talking of washing up, the jug is really easy to rinse out and dry with a paper towel. The blender attachment just needs a quick rinse and that’s it.

It does create a lot of condensation and the blend function is quite startling when it turns itself on during cooking, be warned!

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI had read a lot of reviews for this saut and soup maker. Some were really good and other were poor. So I decided to take a gamble.
And I found this gadget to be brilliant! The saut feature is brilliant, as you don’t need need to use any other pots or pans for sauting anything. And these days its so easy to get hold of chopped veg for soups in the shops. I would also use precooked chicken/meat. And so making soup has never been easier.
I would normally use this at least once or twice a week especially when its cold outside. Its a good way to get your greens/veg in. The smooth and chunky feature is very useful. The soup comes out pipping hot! And you can easily pour into a bowl from it. And it is really easy to clean.
All in all definitely worth it.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is a terrific product. Glad it has the saute function as I feel this adds more taste to the finished soup and reduces the number of items needing cleaned.
I also bought this book as I am a novice to soup making:
I noticed that some reviews reported fuses triping so I turn my cooker hood on and place the soup maker directly below it and I haven’t had any problems.
I thought that this might be a novelty product, used a couple of times and then put away in a cupboard, but I’m loving the ease at which I can make my own delicious soup.

    Highly recommend this produc

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersIt is very easy to make enough soup for four people with one of these. It really does make a good and tasty soup in 21 minutes (not including preparation). Very good for getting rid of left over vegetables. However, it makes too much for one person even on the minimum level. I was not impressed with the chunky mode which leaves the vegetables the same size as they were when put in. One very good thing is that there is no need to use oil. If I were buying again, I would look for a lower capacity and just the smooth setting.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersMy old morphy richards soup maker broke down a couple of days ago (the motor finally gave out). It was just over two years old but has been in constant use for these two years, sometimes twice a day, so has been a really good workhorse. I didn’t hesitate in purchasing the same brand again and decided to upgrade to the saut and soup model. It arrived at lunchtime today (ordered yesterday on prime) so it was just in time to make soup for our evening meal. I like this one even better -it’s got a nice non-stick coating for when you use the saut feature, and when I’d used it it was so easy to clean. Just add a bit of hot water and washing up liquid and give it a quick whizz then wash out with a nylon brush. So easy. Would definitely itely comment getting this model.

Just the best purchase – was worried that this would become just a kitchen gadget in the cupboard but it’s brilliant!!! I make great soup all the time – perfect for increasing good eating, weight loss and making sure the whole family get more than their 5 a day. Have discovered that the Italian soup recipe in the book that comes with it is fab as soup but just lush when reduced down a bit and used as a pasta sauce. Buy one – it’s a win win product.

Fantastic product. Previously bought 3 from amazon in the warehouse and had to return them as they wouldn’t work. Bought a brand new one in tesco and great product. It after some time experienced the same difficulty as the previous 2. There is a button just on the lid that was stiff and stopped the item working. Release that button and it will work again. Love this product apart from the few technical difficulties. Anyone can make soup. It’s not rocketscience

The soup maker arrived on time and I have used it twice so far. Not so keen on the soup without making it smooth, as it was very watery, but the celery soup was blended and came out perfectly. I did not find it too noisy, but it made me jump when it started to blend!

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersWell I did my research and so glad I did, yes there are cheaper soup makers out there but this has to be the best, I love to saute my onions, leeks, bacon and chicken in it rather than using a separate pan and its just all so easy, I’ve never been a soup maker before but I am now, I used recipes at first but now just chuck in whatever needs cooking up and we’ve not had anything yet we haven’t liked although we all have our favourites they all get eaten up, it’s big enough to feed five of us at a time or I cook it up to take to work for a couple of days, were eating so much better now, a must for every family, takes up very little space, easy to use, clean and looks good, makes the house smell fab while in use and so many YouTube videos to help at first too

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThis was an impulse purchase because of a good price in Amazon Warehouse deals. I have used it every weekend since receiving it. The saut function is very useful helps keep all of the cooking in one neat pot, and the simple instructions and the handful of recipes supplied are a good way to get to know the process. I’ve been surprised how much we’ve enjoyed the soups. I then bought an additional recipe book after a couple of weeks to get a greater variety of options.

Cleaning it is very easy, because the stainless steel and the saut base are very non stick and the top section (contains the blade) are also made of non stick materials and very easy to wash off any soup that gets there from the blending process.

I make soups in batches (you make about a litre with each full pot) at the weekend and freeze some for the working week to reheat for lunches mainly.

Oh my giddy aunt. This thing is actually bewitched or something. The soups I’ve made with this so far are nothing short of 5 star restaurant quality. In TWENTY-ONE MINUTES people. My late father and myself always loved a good pea and ham and even though I’m a pretty good cook (I’m trying to be modest, I’m actually blimmin excellent), I’ve never mastered a great homemade version. The one I just made in this beauty (with Asda frozen peas and sandwich ham in 21 minutes!!) is simply amazing. I’m only sorry my dad isn’t around to try it too. Buy this if you like soup and are trying to be healthy or following a weight loss plan. You won’t regret it.

I genuinely bought this as I thought it might be handier than my old tried and tested soup in the slow cooker method. This beats it hands down for speed, convenience and taste. I’ll never be without one. Or two in case one breaks down. Total convert.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI debated for a long time over which soup maker to go for, and it was the saute function on this model that decided me. I have made Cream of Celery using the recipe in the book plus my own recipe and both are very nice. Leek and Potato is another favourite. People might say why use a soup maker rather than a saucepan, but with it you don’t have to stand over it and keep stirring and the consistency is just right without having to use a blender afterwards.

It is so easy to use and makes really good soups. The saut function seems to add flavour to the soups and once you’ve chucked all the ingredients in the jug you can just sit back for a few minutes and wait for the beep to tell you your soup is ready!

Much easier, faster and cleaner than trying to blend soup with a hand blender. Made getting my wisdom teeth out much easier too 🙂 so much more choice. The saut function is also a must for me as it means I’m only using one ‘pot’.
Makes enough soup for four to five good portions.
Recommend cleaning it while it’s still warm, it’s a breeze then, but if you let it cool to much it can be a bit of a faff.

It’s Smoothies in the morning and mouth-watering soups for lunch.
Because of the flexibility with this excellent machine, there is no limit to the variety of both products and no two ‘productions’ are the same.
Then it goes wrong, after nearly nine months (today 24 Oct 2017)
Have spent three hours trying to get Amazon to honour their contract and replace the product.
They sold me an extra three years cover and will not even honour the first year.
They say that they have no stocks and yet the item is available on their web site at this very moment.

Best kitchen gadget I have ever bought! I have made chunky and blended soups in this soup maker and they have come out perfect every time. Cooks quickly and saute function in excellent. I like that I can chuck everything in and just leave it. Two tips: it does give out a lot of steam when cooking so put it where the steam can escape – I have an extractor hood and put the jug below that when I am using it. Secondly, when using the saute function, do watch over it as it works very quickly and food could get burned if you leave it. All in all, an excellent piece of kit and well worth the money.

Soup from scratch in just over twenty minutes is such a help. I was diagnosed as gluten intolerant last year and spent a miserable few months reading labels so that I wouldn’t be glutened. This soup maker makes life so much easier. Just pop in any vegetables you want to saut first, then add your chosen stock and your soup is ready twenty odd minutes later. I even use it to blend or partially blend stuff like tomato sauces I have made in my slow cooker.

So quick and simple to use also, cleaning is a doddle.
I guarantee this is one kitchen gadget that won’t be consigned to the back of the cupboard alongside the foot spa and toastie maker.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI’d not expected to like this as much as I do but got talked into it by relatives. I make soup all the time so what was the point when you have to chop the vegetables anyway. Well, I was wrong. It is so easy to simply finely chop the vegetables, saut them quickly using a little button on the handle. Then add the stock and put the lid on Then either switch on immediately for beautifully blended soup in 21 minutes OR wait and switch on 21 minutes before you want the piping hot soup. I tend to add extras such as cheese or cream and reblend a little which is easily done by pressing the mode button to “blend” on the top. Also you can adjust the seasoning etc at this point.
There is hardly any washing up to do as its a one pot meal so can be set aside tidily until you’ve finished lunch. When filled to the maximum you get 5 bowlfuls from the device. I put the vegetables up to nearly the maximum level ( marked inside the soup maker) then add hot stock to maximum. It blends several times during the cooking time so everything is cooked through. I would personally never buy a soup maker without a saut function as this makes a more flavourful soup. Worth the money.

Not really knowing what to expect from a soup maker (never had one before), but craving for some homemade soup without the hustle and bustle that usually goes hand in hand with it, I decided to give this one a try. I love it! I make soup on a daily basis now and it hardly costs me any time. Cutting a small amount of veg, top up with water/stock, set the program.. et voila.. about 25 minutes later my soup maker lets me know I can now enjoy a plate of lovely homemade soup.
The soup maker makes 3 generous portions of smooth soup and 2 generous portions of chunky soup. It is easy to clean with a little detergent and some hot water.

I bought this because I was lucky enough to be in the presence of someone using there’s.No fuss just heap whatever veg you want in add the stock cubes and low and behold you have perfect soup I usually press the button for smooth and up to now I’ve been well impressed…it’s easy to clean and store..for me it’s wonderful and iam NO DOMESTIC GODDESS..I LIKE the saute programme I’ve seen the same make for the same price in a local supermarket but no saute feature… for me it’s a really good purchase…

Okay, you have to still chop your veggies, but you can saute your onions (and in my case some finely chopped bacon on my first use) so a wooden spoon is required so as not to scratch the non stick coating inside. but once that’s done – throw in your veg, add some stock. Put on the lid and select your preference (smooth or chunky) press go. and 21 mins(smooth) or 28 mins(chunky) later you have piping hot soup, which you pour directly into bowls/cups to enjoy. Very easy to rinse/clean (even though you can’t submerge either part due to the electrical parts).
In short it’s a gadget to replace your pan and blender, no need to worry about it burning or sticking to the bottom. less messy than doing it the old fashioned way. you can walk away and leave it to do it’s own thing.
It’s only shortfall, there is no reheat function. So if your not eating straight away, you’ll be digging out a pan again. Only used 3 or 4 times so far, but its so easy and quick to make great soup. this is staying on the counter top because it will be used often.

Only used once so far and it did an excellent job. No issues with trip switch problems as others have reported, but I can see why it might happen. The design isn’t great and the steam does tend to come out right next to the electrics. It’s possible people have overfilled it, causing the problem. The fill limit is nowhere near even halfway up the pot. When filled to capacity it does enough soup for three normal adults. Cleans easily.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersThis item of kitchen equipment was recommended to us by two completely separate and independent sources. We reviewed the item on Amazon website and decided to buy. It is one of the best pieces of kitchen equipment we have ever bought. My wife used to make soups anyway using tried and trusted, and on numerous occasions her own, recipes and methods. But this soup maker takes all the hard work out of the equation.
The results are first class and in record time. The instructions leave little room for error, and are easy to follow.
It is smart looking and takes up very little room, so anyone with a kitchen as compact as ours will have no problem with storage.
We would highly recommend this soup maker to anyone and feel that it is very good value for money.

The recipe book has some good starter recipes (particularly the coconut chilli and lime one!) but it’s just as easy to pick up a soup pack from the supermarket and throw it in with some stock or chop up veg from scratch. Even the children have been enjoying the smooth versions with leek and potato a firm favourite. It’s pretty easy to clean as long as you tackle it as soon as possible after use and I have not experienced any sticking of foods to the non-stick surface inside. I’ve made up all sorts of soups using leftovers and fresh foods. A brilliant addition to my kitchen cupboard.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThe Saute & Soup maker was recommended to me in the first place and I am pleased that I took up the recommendation. Having the saut facility built in to the Soup Maker has saved on using a 2nd pan, which also means a little less time with washing up as the jug is so easy to clean, as long as you do it straight away (otherwise it sets like concrete!). There are a few recipes in the booklet that comes with it but I have found that there are always good recipes for soup makers on websites on-line so have been able to do many different soups, as well as creating my own. So far I have only used the smooth setting as that is how we like our soups, however the friend who recommended it says it is just as wonderful at smoothies and chunkier soups. I have been so impressed with this particular soup maker that I have recommended it myself to friends and they have now also purchased. I have tried a couple of soups which advice putting cream in with the ingredients at the beginning, however I do not like the outcome myself and prefer putting it in at the end just before serving. Likewise, I do not put any cheese in until the end. My favourite soup so far has to be broccoli and gorgonzola or stilton, with asparagus and spring onion a very close second. These recipes both came from websites and are so easy to tweak to your own taste. A fantastic buy, it gets used a lot and everyone so far has enjoyed fresh homemade soups as they are so much tastier than manufactured ones.

I like it very much but the first one I had – the saute function stopped working after a month – the second one fused the electrics. Having said that, I read other reviews of people who had the same problem and it appears that the condensation gets into the socket at the top of the handle. I had taken the lid off after the soup had finished its cycle, added some seasoning and put the lid back on immediately – it blew the electrics. When I dried the contact with kitchen towel it worked again. This shouldn’t happen and it is obviously an inherent design fault but I love the soup maker so much I am reluctant to send it back!

Love, love, love this. I have used it every week since purchase. This makes enough soup for me to put into a couple of jugs to keep in the fridge for my lunchtime snacks for a whole working week (I work from home).

The soup maker itself is so easy to use. Put your ingredients in the jug, add the liquid, plug in, press whether you want it smooth or chunky and off it goes. Twenty minutes later (for the smooth) my soup is ready.

    Highly recommended.

I can’t tell you how much I love this machine. i’ve had it for about 2 to 3 months now – and i use it almost every week. It’s like magic! you throw anything in – and it comes out beautiful soup. I’m so impressed. I’d also definitely recommend that you get this one with the saut feature – as it means you can fry off onions bacon etc… in the kettle rather than having to use another pan first. Just an amazing machine. it doesn’t make LOADS -b ut just perfect for 4 large and 5/6 med portions. Easy to clean and store.

After looking through the reviews for this soup maker I decided to buy it and I’m so glad I did. Having the saut option is a definite plus, although when I made French onion soup I sauted the onion in a saucepan just because of the quantity of the onions. I transferred them to the soup maker and cooked it on chunky. I could have carried on cooking the soup in the saucepan, but it meant I was able to wash the dirty pan before we ate (the soup maker is so much easier to clean). My daughter and son in law were so impressed with the soup that I made when they were visiting that they have bought one too!

I’ve had this item for 4 months now and used it fairly regularly, for soup not smoothies, and had no problems with the electrics – thank heavens. Firstly I must state that it does make great soup. However, I haven’t found the saut option useful as it tends to leave little bits stuck to the ‘non-stick’ base and thus you get little black bits in your soup, not great it its a pale one, i.e. cauliflower or some such. So i tend to fry onions separately. I also found that, as I like fairly thick’ish soup (lots of ingredients), the blender could do with having a bit more umph. It is very noisy when blending and is not as smooth as it could be. Overall I am pleased with the product but a few little tweaks could make it an amazing 5*

Expected this to be another gadget to sit on the kitchen side and be used a few times and then left to gather dust. This has actually helped us use up all our left over veggies at the end of the week. Its brilliant and quick and easy to use. Best recipe in the book provided is lentil and bacon soup. Never ever thought about eating lentils in our lives, but its a tasty recipe and smooth soup made in 21 minutes. Definitely soup convert. Not tried the cold smoothies yet, but will be worth a try when weather warms up.

Fantastic machine, tried it twice 1st Carrott & Coriander, 2nd Leek, Bacon & Potato – both unbelievably good,21 minutes and it’s all done, however there’s 5 minutes beforehand to prep the ingredients, however once it’s in the machine so so easy, just leave it to do its thing and 21 minutes later some of the most flavoursome/fresh soup you could imagine, cleaning the machine is a real bonus 30 seconds and that’s done.
All in all great bit of kit and 5*+ score. Plus just put ‘recipes for soup makers’ in your search engine and there’s hundreds to choose from. My advice ‘go on treat yourself’ you won’t regret it !

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersSoup Maker arrived within time stated and it is great. I have made lovely soups with it and it cooks so quick. The saut part of the soup maker is excellent with a non stick base and you are able to pre-cook onion carrot with a little oil before adding other ingredients if you forget to put something in during the cooking process you can add it without it affecting the timing of the soup maker. The instructions are easy to understand and it is so easy to wash – just a soapy rinse out and dry and the same with the lid, just need to make sure you don’t immerse the soup maker in water. Its about the size of a kettle, and it looks smart on the worktop when in use but also compact enough to store in the cupboard. I am well pleased with it.

The saut option is so useful and heats up very quickly. 20mins and a healthy start or meal is a great way to lose weight and stay trim. I too thought that soup was easy just to make in a pan. However I have been really pleased with this soup maker. Tasty soup within the half hour. It doesnt look like it makes much but there are 3-4 good sized bowls when you pour it out. Really easy to clean, had no issues with anything sticking even when using the saute function. Good price when I bought it on Amazon too – 49.99 which was much less than elsewhere for the same model. So far i have only made the recipes in the booklet that came with it but intend to by a book for more ideas.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersMakes brilliant soup – M&S quality. Loved mine so much, bought one each for daughters for Christmas and they are also smitten. Basic recipes are easy to follow and then you use the method to make your own favourites – eg do red pepper & tomato using the Roast tomato recipe, or really cheat by using a pack of ready chopped veg – just fill up to the ingredients marker, saute, add stock (I use Knorr stockpots) to the top marker, press the button and go! I really recommend getting the model with the saute function as it saves any prior cooking. It would be great for a student bed-sit as prep & washing up is minimum; I would take mine if self-catering and have even taken it with ready chopped ingredients to my tennis club for lunch and the soup kept hot for an hour!

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersExcellent for making fresh smaller healthy tasty quantities, as opposed to a large pot of soup/stew, and then eating over a number of days re-heating from the fridge, if one is a single person or elderly on one’s own.
Contacted the manufacture and was told that it was OK to repeat the cooking cycle, which is important when using soaked pulses, which take longer to cook than the preprogramed time.
Cleaning is a bit fiddly compared to simply fully immersing/washing a pan in the sink.
However, for what it is in its function as an automatic soup-maker, with also having a most vital saute facility, I can give it my highest recommendation, including a must for students to save on having a healthy tasty meal with a little bit of imagination!!!
I find the saute function also excellent for preheating whilst I am adding my ingredients.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersA fantastic kitchen gadget. I chose this one in preference to another that Which? recommended bit it didn’t have a saute option. I’m really pleased I went for this one as I can’t get my head round making a soup without some kind of sauteing. It works a treat and the outcome is better than I imagined. Have done a chicnky soup (but it has the option of giving it a bit of a whiz so not so chunky), and a smooth soup – both excellent. All done in less than half an hour. (Fruit smoothies too but haven’t done this). If you are into soups without the hassle of sacepans and blenders – then this one is the one.
One downside to it – the minimum volume setting produces an amount to serve 4 good size portions. Would have preferred a smaller volume option.

I had always thought that soup makers were a bit of a gimmick and a waste of money, but now I would not be without mine. In 21 minutes I can have really good creamy soup that is so much smoother than when I make it in a saucepan and blend it. It is a great way of using up vegetables and reducing waste, and a really great way to get your five a day. I have the version with controls on the lid, and find it easy to use. You need to be careful when rinsing because of the electrical parts, but it comes clean easily if you clean it immediately after using.

It is so so easy and if you do not want to stand there chopping your own choice of veg, etc buy them already prepared from supermarket all you have to do then is put into jug, prepare your chosen stock fill to line and choose smooth or chunky and press start!!! Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI did my research fairly thoroughly before purchasing this item. Being a gadget and soup lover this looked like the perfect item for me.

I have not been dissapointed. This is such a useful kitchen aid. Quick to use and quick to clean. The fact that it sautes too is a bonus.
I use the soup maker twice a week, it makes enough for both me and my husband to have soup for lunch for two days.

I have made both chunky and smooth soups and both have turned out really tasty with a great consistency.

Not used the smoothie function but i see no reason why that wouldn’t work as well as the soup function.

i love my Saute and Soup Maker, I’ve cooked several soup recipe’s in it already, all smooth ones as we prefer them. Yes, I have made soups for years and I had the proverbial whizzy to whizz them up when cooked. Having said that there is something about putting the onions and garlic in to saute, then the rest of the ingredients, switch it on and 21 mins later beautiful soup. What put me off buying one sooner were the negative reviews, then I realised the least negative were from this one, maybe it was because this model was the latest one being May 2015 and they had corrected the glitches by then, anyway this was my reasoning. There is a small booklet with recipes in and it’s quite adequate to get started. I have registered with Murphy Richards for the extra years guarantee. I highly recommend this particular soup maker.

Well, I really thought this might be a gadget to take up space and collect dust. Thankfully I’ve found it really useful. So easy to use and easy to clean. No more kitchen splats with the hand/stick blender! I have found that recipe books for soup makers tend to be American, so I’ve been using Covert Garden book and adapting recipes to the machine.

Tip: Put the machine on a tea towel or something, when in blend mode it can walk itself off the kitchen worktop!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI brought this for my husband who is only able to eat liquidised food at the moment. He loves soup but I hate all the faf that making them entails. I must admit I brought this thinking it would end up in the garage with the steamer, toasted sandwich maker, slow cooker and all the other must have gadgets I have collected over the years.
How wrong I was. It is so simple to use. You literally throw in the ingredients put the lid on, press a button and 22 minutes later you have really tasty soup. There’s a saut mode if things need softening first which means no dirty frying pan. It’s really easy to clean. Just wipe over with a soapy sponge and rinse. Probably the best thing I’ve brought for a while. Only niggle would be. Amazon knocked 10 off the price a week after I brought it. Still worth the money though.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis soup maker is simply superb! Have always been wary and avoided gadgets such as this but after a couple of days of being bed bound with a horrid flu and with a little too much time on my hands to Internet shop- one click (or two) and it was done.

It’s so easy to use, just throw in all your ingredients and off you go, takes around 20-30 minutes. Have only made a few different types of soup and so far so good- the roasted tomato soup in the instruction manual far better than shop bought and cannot go back. Not too difficult to clean either. Not used saut function yet so can’t comment on that but very impressed.

I was a bit sceptical thinking something can’t be so easy & good as it says, but I was wrong, this is the easiest piece of kitchen equipment I have & shall be used for a very long time. It literally is as simple as chopping the vegetables, placing them inside with a litre of stock, putting the lid on, pressing the button and 21 minutes later you have a smooth soup, the same consistency as you get from a tin but with a fresher taste rather like Covent Garden Soups if you’ve tried them. I haven’t tried the chunky setting or a smoothie yet, but I am impressed with the ease & speed of it all, cleaning is really simple. It looks like a large kettle so wouldn’t go out of place on a work surface if need to store it that way. Highly recommend purchasing.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersJust love this soup maker. Recommended by a friend who is on her second one. And as she still raves about it I felt I had to have one, as I do make a lot of soup. She has in fact just bought another 3 to give as Xmas gifts!!
I didn’t think it would make very much as the max mark looks quite low down in the jug. But it makes a good volume. Plenty for lunch for 2 with more than enough for next day too. The saute function works very well too. I was very impressed with how quick and easy it is to use. Much less cleaning up to do as it just uses one appliance. Cleans easily though I did think it needed to be cleaned quite quickly after use as I didn’t like leaving the serated blades but leaning on my worktop. Doesn’t take up too much room on worktop either.
Have just been shopping and bought loads of veg for my next couple of batches. My husband is loving it too.

I am delighted with my soup maker which does exactly what it says on the box! The saut function is excellent and frying the onions etc first definetly makes a difference to the taste of the finished soup. I have made several different batches, some smooth, some chunky and have been very pleased with the results. I’ve managed to adapt my favourite soup recipes without any problems and have to admit that coming home on a cold winter’s day and popping on the soup maker, having prepared the veg before going out, I have warm nourishing soup within 21 minutes that tastes a hundred times better than any shop brought product at a fraction of the cost. I had recently purchased the model which has the buttons on the lid and it had to be returned to the retailer because the saut function stopped working after the first use, they sent an identical replacement which did exactly the same thing so was sent back for a refund so I was a little hesitant purchasing this one from Amazon but I’m so glad I did as this model is very reliable and I would highly recommend it.

I love the fact that this does everything and all in one unit that’s easy to clean and you don’t have to stand over at watch.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersIt is easier in many ways than bunging everything in a pan and using separate blender. Easy to wash if blades on lid dealt with promptly. Found thick soup stuck around the stem and screws a little. Jug very easy to wash out. I’ve set aside a soft sponge especially, to avoid scratching interior. Saut function very useful, but remember to remove the protective seal from the saute button. I stupidly couldn’t tell it was there initially and thought the button faulty. Whole process quicker with regard to cooking stage probably due to blending part way through as well as end of cooking. Longest part is preparing the ingredients and stock if completely home made. If you are short of time and can afford to, buy ready chopped veg and stock liquid, cubes or stockpots. Advantage over shop bought soup is making soup to your own taste, and use up leftovers. Seems to stay hot for good length of time with lid left on. I wouldn’t buy if you just want chunky soup as you can saut and cook easily in ordinary good quality pan.

First of I am not a great soup lover, or at least least not when it comes from a tin.
This soup maker has changed my mind when it comes to soup. It makes absolutely amazing soups.
The soup maker is slightly larger than a normal kettle. It’s very easy to use. Just chop things up quite small and put it in the soup maker. Add some stock and let the soup maker do its thing. It’s also very easy to clean.
I have had this for a few weeks now and made various types of soup. Basically whatever you like you can make a soup out out of it. Nothing goes to waste anymore and the children eat a lot more vegetables now without realising.
The max fill line may not look like a lot but you end up with four huge bowls of soup and some spare. You would get 6 good size bowl fulls out of the it.
So far I can’t fault it. Just made a soup that tastes like Cornish pasties without the pastry, absolutely delicious

Just another person saying this is the best buy I have made for ages, it has completely changed my diet for the better. I bought a vegetarian soup recipe book with it (you don’t really need a soup maker recipe book it’s so easy). The saute function a must for onions garlic spices etc to start the soup off plus the blades are excellent on this model so no trouble with getting smooth results. The book I got was ‘Love soup’, it’s like a bible for soupees by the person who wrote ‘the vegetarian epicure’ in the 70’s. I use it every day, perfect soup and love experimenting.

I wasn’t sure whether to buy yet another piece of kitchen kit, in case it joined the sandwich toaster and bread maker in the back of the cupboard. However, this soup maker means I am not using a saucepan, blender and jug each time, and don’t have to keep an eye on the saucepan while the soup is cooking. It is simple to use and to clean. I am planning to use most days for homemade soup, hoping to save money and lose weight! So far, have enjoyed chicken and mushroom, vegetable and minestrone.
