Pets love it, easy for the cat as well as the dogs, weather has to be really bad for it to flap, not too noisy

This pet flap, was easy to install and works great for both my dog and cat.
Its very quite when they come in/out of the flap not like the plastic flap which are very noisy .Also I like the fact that you can change the plastic flap and not the whole thing.

Simple to use, easy to slide the locking door in place and the dogs love it. No messy batteries, electrics or programming to go wrong.

My cats have broken through countless hard plastic cat flaps and locks so thought I’d go for a flexible flap with a sturdy locking mechanism this time. So far so good!

Easy to install with some fairly basic DIY skills and keeps any draught out.

Have replaced our old PetSafe dog flap (plastic one) with this one. Had to make the existing hole cut in the door a little taller but it wasn’t a big job. Fits in great, it looks much better than the old one and being aluminum it seems much sturdier. Dog seems happy with it.

Much stronger than previous plastic version which kept getting broken as we have two dogs who sometimes try to get through together. Although stronger there is less draft exclusion as the old version had a double frame but can fit the supplied internal door flap in extreme weather.

We bought this as we had 2 issues with our dachshund puppy. Toilet training and separation anxiety. This door has been a lifesaver. Since it was installed our puppy can go out whenever he needs and he has only had one accident in the house. It has also nearly solved the problem of SA. Going outside gives him enough room to explore and he no longer whines and barks and enjoys being able to go out when he wants. Only downside, which is not a product fault, is that we have had to build steps up from the outside so that he doesn’t strain his back as it was quite a drop.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI have the small cat flap which is large enough for my 3 cats. We had somebody install it for us and he seemed to have no problems with it. It’s only been in a few days but appears very sturdy. I have taken the actual flap bit off for the moment so the cats can get used to it more easily as it is different to the previous cat flap we had and also in a slightly different location. Very happy with the cat flap so far.

Wish we’d got one of these years ago. All that money wasted on cat-flaps that cracked and broke. This is sturdy, keeps out drafts and when it’s locked, it’s well and truly locked. Our cat could fight his way out of the normal ones, but he doesn’t even bother with this, so I can keep him in safe and sound, away from foxes and other dangers.

Excellent pet door. The hardest job was manually cutting the hole in the UPVC door. Easy to install once this was done. The very long nylon screws are a bit of pain. Obviously you can’t use a electric screw driver and cutting them short before you install may damage the threads. My adult Yorkshire Terrier has no trouble popping in and out.

Others kept breaking as our rather chubby Schitzu barrels through them. This is on a different league for quality.
Soft flap closes with magnet and the rigid security blank panel is very effective.

    Well done petsafe.
This is the best cat flap I have ever had.
Ok it lets a light draft in. They all do.
    But it’s built tough.
All three of my dogs take personal pride in how fast they can destroy the cats flap.
Now my cat mocks their feeble efforts as it strolls in and out of the house at will through his still intact flap.

We needed a cat flap in our back garage door to allow our cats access to shelter if we were away from the house. It was relatively easy to fit and is of quite good quality. I initially thought it might be too small for the biggest of our cats but so far they all seem to be able to use it. I recommend this cat flap.

We bought two for a nine-inch outside wall. Our builder made a little tunnel for the dogs (a beagle and a terrier, for which ‘medium’ is the right size) to go through. We weren’t sure that we were doing right but they got used to it in seconds and the system (with the two flaps) works wonderfully. I might add that the flaps are very well-made.

The flap arrived with a ‘kink’ in the middle which meant it wasn’t connecting to the magnet at the bottom. Also, the kink meant it wasn’t flush and let the cold air/rain in. However, after writing to the seller, they were kind enough to replace the flap and now it works perfectly. No more problems. Highly recommend this company and the pet door.

We’ve bend the top bits of the metal rails it slides through a bit so it comes out more easily but best solution has proven to just not open it all the way (dog still gets through perfectly).

There are lots of cat-flaps on the market but most of them appear to be quite flimsy in construction. This product would seem to be the Rolls-Royce of (non-electronic) cat-flaps.
As with any such pet door, I would not recommend the large size for security reasons, except in the case of a shed or barn (or similar).

It took my Border Terrier a little while to get comfortable with his own personal door. After 2 days he’d sussed it out and loves it. I did not have any problems with the plastic bolts on installation. They’re actually better than metal ones as they have a security nut that prevents anyone removing the door from the outside and being plastic they’re simple to trim flush. The cover won’t fit if you have a centre bar across the door but just trim an inch or two of the edge sliders and it will fit without fuss.

The magnetic door closes well and is quite quiet. There is a very slight draft but until winter it remains to be seen how bad this will be. Overall I’m extremely happy with the product and my dog is even happier.

Why didn’t I buy this sooner having wasted my money on keep replacing the original plastic one several times because my dog would break the plastic trying to escape when it was closed. This one is so much sturdier and set closer to the door so there are no gaps he can get his teeth around to pull. I had to make the hole slightly larger to fit it but it wasnt a difficult job. An improvement over previous Petsafe door that had a plastic frame. This aluminium frame is robust and was simple to install.
The shutter the closes the opening is of solid cast plastic construction, and slides-into channels in the aluminium frame. This design feature, and the brush-style draft seals around the flexible door flap reduces drafts into the home.
Replacement of the flexible door flap will also be a simpler process than the previous model I had.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis is really good and we bought this for a second home. We now have two and they are brilliant. Our cocker spaniels race through it and the plastic cheaper version were absolutely useless for them as they kept braking. This is very sturdy and copes with two dogs hurtling through it at speed. Sadly this later version has a plastic security door rather than the original hard metal door.

This is a solid pet door better than the plastic versions which my dog used to break quite regularly. It also has a good seal on the flap which keeps the cold out. I would definitely recommend this pet door over the plastic version for excitable dogs!
