A lot of people seem to be worried that these were rated at A+ and are now rated at F. That’s because the rating system for LED bulbs changed in March 2023. Almost all LED bulbs were reaching the A+ level, so it was altered to feflect the smaller differences between LED bulbs.
It’s a shame no one thought to explain this to the general public 😉

Not too bad compared to other brands I’ve used. However, best I get ot of them is 18-24 months, no where near the 15,000 hours claimed, but of course there’s the universal cop out two words, “up to”, that would cover failure after 10 hours.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGood bulbs as I would expect from Philips.

The brightness is good, compared to my original 2nd gen LED lighting (not Philips) and on par with Hue GU10’s Colours I have elsewhere.

Easy install to downlight fittings and defuse light around the room well.

    GOOD TO KNOW –

Very yellow. Although they say warm I think they are OVERLY warm. Chose warm as the cool Philips GU10 was way too clinical/ cold. So either going to wait for an in-between to be released by Philips or get the Hue white, so i can get the light colour I think I need.

Haven’t had them very long, but they’re already better than the supermarket brands they’ve replaced. The beam is better, looks more natural. The bulb itself is shiny on the outside compared to the supermarket branded light bulbs which are just plain white on the outside, makes it look much better like the standard halogen bulbs.

Pretty much a direct replacement for the halogen version. Light is indistinguishable from the halogen. I know Philips lighting is no longer made in the Netherlands, but the quality is still far better than most of the other bulbs from China.

Great efficient led lights for warm white I find them to be a little brighter than expected, but no real problem only using them for lights that are not on all the time stairs toilets and bathroom

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersEasy to order via Amazon Prime. The price was very competitive and the description of the bulbs was informative. Delivery was very quick and the bulbs were simple to install. The given off is extremely bright and just what I required. Would certainly recommend and I’m happy with my purchase.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThere’s a big difference between our previous bulbs and these.
These let a nice amount of light into the area too rather being solely a spot light. Which is great in the room they are in.
Bulbs are silent and don’t get hot.
Less than a tenner for 6 bulbs is good if they last as long as quoted.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really good upgrade to previous 4w 230 lumens

It has very good luminosity, much better than other Chinese bulbs that promise you more lumens but in the end they break quickly, flicker, etc. At the moment they don’t give me a headache. The light is neutral, it may be a little more yellow than some but in my case I have gotten used to it and I think it is the best.

I have tried a few knock-off brands before settling with Philips. Always the best quality LEDs although they are more expensive. Visible differences in brightness and build quality from other brands.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersOverall these are quite good value for money but they are not perfect. I installed 6 in my bedroom In November 2018 and 6 in my brothers house in the kitchen in March.

They provide a warm cosy white light (which a lot of other ones fail to do) The beam of light they provide isn’t that wide and they do buzz, however, 90% of the time this isn’t noticeable.

I have been very impressed with these only up until recently where one started flickering and making loud buzzing noises and then failed. However, these were from the ones that I bought in 2018, I am hoping that this was just a one off as I never usually have a problem with Philips light bulbs and if I ever need new light bulbs then Philips is always my go to for these. I do note that the bulb that failed was in a downlight that is covered in loft insulation and that these need to be able to cool down, but the downlight manufacturer did state that its okay to add insulation above on these specific downlights.

Overall I am very satisfied with these light bulbs and would certainly buy them again, I will update this review if anything changes or anymore fail.

These are much brighter than our halogen bulbs and dont give off the heat, the best is all 5 bulbs are less than 1 of the old bulbs in running costs.

Obvious choice to swop filament bulbs for L.E.D.s. Just as bright, but only use a fraction of the electricity.

It is a shame Ikea gu10 does not sell 400lumen anymore in my local store during covid.

Honestly, the quality is good but if it comes in 400 lumens, I will give it 5 stars and buy it asap

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThese LED bulbs are much cheaper run than the halogen ones that I replaced. Also, it’s a few years since I bought LED bulbs and they seem to be much brighter than they used to be. And unlike the older ones they switch on instantly (the older ones used to take ages to ‘ warm up’).
It’s far too early to comment on longevity, but otherwise I’m really pleased with them.

Only put them in a few days ago but have good brightness, warm light, easy to install. Would recommend so fa

Replaced sub standard LEDs with these. Much better colour consistency and survives the increasingly regular
Owed cuts. Worth the money in the long run I think.

Be aware if you want use this in a wet environment like bathroom. Other than that it’s all good.

Good but not the same shape as old bulbs

I don’t normally leave reviews but this might help someone. With the price increase in electricity I finally decided to replace my GU10 halogen bulbs with LED ones. The thing is, I could not get LED bulbs to fit the fitting that I had (see pics of fitting and of bulbs). In the second picture I have got 3 different LED bulbs from different makers alongside a halogen bulb on the left. I have marked the bases of the bulbs with purple as I found that the LED bases were slightly shorter than the halogen one. This meant that although these led bulbs could be pushed into the fitting they could not twist to lock into place. In desperation I bopught these Philips bulbs which slotted in perfectly and are brighter than the halogens they replaced. Success!

When other bulbs don't fit - try this.

Standard high quality Phillips lighting. Very rich colour and brightness. Very obvious difference between cheap alternatives from you-know-where and these lights. Definitely won’t be using anything but Phillips this point onwards.

Used these to replace some older Internet bought bulbs. They are so much brighter for the same energy consumption. Also the light is at least as good as the original incandescent version. Very satisfied.

These have worked great, only tiny issue I had is they are slightly longer than normal by 2-3 mm so be careful if you have a tight fit in the light fixture.

Two of my original three lights failed so I decided to replace them all with these LED lights. I am pleased with them as the light is brighter and not so harsh. I have only just done this, so cannot comment on longevity or energy efficiency.

Bought these to replace a few bulbs that had blown that were in a mix of 20+ ceiling lights. Although the design of the bulb is different to my originals, you wouldn’t know – they give exactly same light out. Very good quality as always with Philips.

I’ve tried many different GU 10’s at this stage and for me these offer the best range of illumination. They reach the lowest lux levels of any of the ones I’ve tried and are still bright at the upper level. Very happy with them

I have purchased many expensive & short lived LED bulbs since the led bulb roll out. Many failed very quickly so I thought I pay for a good performance branded product & keep my fingers crossed.

Good spot light , with narrow angle of light beam , good for decorative environment as the angle is narrow . But not to light up whole area , if you like to light up the whole area , you must go for wider angle of light beam
