    Buy a known brand
Bought cheap ones to replace halogen 40w bulbs – 36 of them. They broke one after another over course of 9 months.
There was also an annoying 1 second delay before they came on.
These are equivalent to 50w light and so far none blown. They feel better made too. Solid with no movement in the prongs and a weighty feel to the glass.

If you're considering a cheaper brand, don't bother.
I recently made the mistake of picking up a pack of cheaper brand GU10 bulbs on Amazon, what a mistake! Lasted barely a month before they started blowing in succession, and within a few months I had 0 lights remaining of my 6 spots in the kitchen.

However Philips are different, i’ve had fantastic experience with Philips bulbs (I am an avid HUE enthusiast), and these bulbs don’t dissapoint. Much more longevity than the other brands and not much more expensive!

TL:DR – Don’t waste your time with unknown brands for bulbs, you will only end up dissapointed. Stick with Philips! Excellent quality product, highly recommend.

Good, slighter warmer cool white though
Previously had other 4000k that were whiter than these, but they are still a cooler white (they seem to get better once they have been on for a bit). The clear look does let some light out as seen in the photo.

Not as advertised, but still do the trick!
As with other buyers, what I received was not what was advertised. This is not a six-pack of bulbs, but rather six individual bulbs. They do work, they dim perfectly for me, and I would actually call them warm white (as opposed to the claim they are bright white in another review) but I also agree with the review that they are not 50w equivalent. They do not reach the desired brightness, in my opinion. As for the claim in another review that they are not genuine Philips products, I can’t be sure, but I can say the bulbs I received look different to the ones pictures in another review here. As for the claim that they “look of Middle Eastern O
origin”, mine clearly state they were made in China.

Overall, I’d say that they will do the trick for you if you’re not concerned with incredibly bright lighting, the fact they may not be genuine products and you are happy to pay the price.

Warning not a pack of 2 Bulbs! Only 1 !
The bulb itself is good quality as you would expect from Phillips, hence the 5 stars – HOWEVER be warned the listing says it is for a pack of two bulbs for 2.99 BUT a pack of only 1 bulb was delivered. Thankfully Amazon customer service is excellent and dispatched another bulb to me but the listing details need changing to 1 bulb not 2 in the pack as it’s misleading

Fully dimmable, great “normal” warm colour, and so energy efficie
Brilliantly energy efficient. I replaced 11 x 50W halogen bulbs in bathroom with 11 of these and the power saving is huge. 44W instead of 550W. They are exactly the same colour, brightness & fully dimmable. Of all dimmable bulbs Phillips seems to be well regarded. I’m very happy with these bulbs.

All bulbs flickering and then failing after just 2 years - all replaced by Philips
Update May 2021 – contacted Philips and they sent replacements.

I bought two packs of these bulbs, paying the premium for Philips as the other 50+ LED’s I have from philips are all working perfectly. These ones were never as bright as I expected a 50w to be, and then after two years of use, they have all started flickering and then failing. They didn’t all fail at the same time, its taken about three months for all of them to go. Very disappointed, especially considering the brand and the claim by Philips their LED bulbs should last for fifteen years or more.

Nice warm colour temperature, and work well with modern smart dimmers.
I bought these to replace some Toshiba e-Core LED lamps that I have had for the last ~15 years. Nothing wrong with the Toshibas per-se, but their older technology made them flicker and buzz when dimmed which wasn’t ideal. These appear to be much better, and will dim all the way down to a very soft glow without any noise or flicker.

The only surprise (and not an unpleasant one) was the very warm colour temperature. I wanted something warm, but this will be perhaps just a touch too far for many people. I like them personally and they work well in my lounge. But for those people who want to mimic a halogen bulb, they might want to consider something at around 3000k rather than these at 2700k.

All in all, I’m very happy with them.

Very good value for a branded product.
There are many cheaper alternatives for this product. Unfortunately, they all have exposed LED bulbs, my lights are fitted inside a recessed holder and requires a suction tool that adheres to a flat surface in order to extract the unit.; this was the only product that had a flat lens covering the LED bulbs.

So far the two “Phillips” replacements have performed flawlessly.

    Excellent dimming & no flickering
These dim really well for the kids bedroom. The builder put some other ones in a different brand and from day one they flickered soooo bad. Then they’ve been in just over a year and are failing! They never dimmed properly and I complained and the dimmer was changed. No difference!!!! Finally got these new bulbs and wow they actually DIM! they do dim to a very very warm orange kind of glow which looks odd coming from a bright white light.
Highly recommend these if you want a light that really does dim down.
Can’t speak on longevity as only just installed them

Plays nicely with trailing edge dimme
I replaced some ceiling fittings which came with six older Philips bulbs, they were connected to an existing dimmer sold as suitable for LEDs, however it flickered with the old (8 years) bulbs. Rather than replace the dimmer I took a 20 punt on these bulbs, and they work really well, very stable dimming and almost inaudible buzzing levels at low light levels. They also change colour temperate as they dim, going from full on bright white to read or do stuff, down to a warm golden glow.

Nice, but some of the 6 bulbs don't dim all the way like the others in the box
Light feels nice an warm, nicer than many 2700K LEDs out there. I don’t really like the narrow angle (36 degrees is pretty much a flashlight rather than lighting!) but it works for specific corner where they are installed. I wish Philips did 100-120 degrees LEDs as well.

Note that not all bulbs were created equal in the same box. Some stop dimming at around 20-25%, while other go lower, maybe 10% (they are on the same dimmer).

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersDAYLIGHT/NEUTRAL WHITE.... NOT COOL WHITE
Bulbs seem very good quality and very bright.. However I wouldn’t class them as “cool white 6500k” bulbs. They’re more like “daylight/neutral white 4000-4500k” bulbs.

In the pics I have attached. I have a cool white bulb to the left. Philips cool white bulb in the middle, and a warm white bulb on the right (both cheap led bulbs off ebay).. As you can see. The Philips cool white bulb light, falls in between the two either side of it, colour wise.

With them being Philip bulbs aswell.. They should last 10-15 years at least hopefully! However the cheap led warm white bulbs, pictured on the right. Did last me 5 years, before they starting going man down, one by one… And the cheap cool white ebay bulbs, pictured on the left. I have installed in my bathroom and kitchen. Which haven’t failed me yet! Which are over 5 year old

    Excellent dimmable low energy bulbs
I’m a bit nervous about how well led dimmable bulbs work. I need not have worried with these. They work just as well as the old standard dimmable bulbs giving a full range of brightness without flicker. Although I have given 5 stars for longevity though as they’ve only been installed for a month I don’t know. I’m inclined to say I trust Phillips having never had problems wit their bulbs compared with cheaper brands claiming the same longevity and being useless after less than a year. Note despite the claims on cheaper bulbs, they never guarantee they will work this long. These Phillips bulbs are also very compact, much shorter than many low energy LED bulbs. Very pleased with the warm light for the bedroom and despite being very low energy they give the same light as old 50W bulbs.

Bought these because the bulbs in my apartment produced a cold white light with that gave everything a green glow, and flickered quite a lot making them uncomfortable to work under. Nice light while it lasts
These warm LED bulbs save money in the long run. But you’ll buy more of them. They don’t last as long as they full fat and hot 50 watt philips ones but those will cost you more in electricity. My old full fat ones lasted ages before they all went pop. Rebuying LED ones again I see that 3 of the 6 in the kitchen have lasted under a year of average use. However, they run cool, save you money on electricity, and give a nice warm light, not at all like the awful bluish tinge from standard LED ones which give a cold light.
So I’m buying again, and on balance would recommend you do too.

    These REALLY ARE Warm White
When LEDs first came on the market, it took me years to find a REAL Warm White dimmable (which were made by GE). When I came to needing to replace old halogens again this time, the GE’s were end-of-life and I had to spend time ordering and returning bulbs until I found there Philips which are actually as good as the old halogen ‘warm white’ bulbs. As the tech sheet states, they get ‘warmer’ with lower (dimmed) power. Perfect.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersProper warm white
I have been using GU10 LED bulbs in my kitchen for about 4 years and needed to replace them as I dropped and smashed one! They were the standard metal covered ‘warm white” that can be bought cheaply. This brand are no longer available on amazon so had to replace all 4 bulbs.

Saw these and thought I would give them a go as I have other Phillips bulbs around the house and they have been brilliant. It was a good choice.
These have a really nice proper warm white colour and are very bright, also the surround of the bulb is not metal like a lot of others, but see-through plastic, this looks a lot better in the fitting and actually distributes the light much better. The colour of the warm white and the light distribution is a big improvement on the ones I had before, quite glad I dropped one now lol.
As I said I have other Phillips bulbs and they have all lasted years and been great quality, I expect these to do the same. Proper warm white with a nice glow not a cold white. Really pleased with them. 🙂

    Works well
Hard to get excited about a light bulb. But this is way less flickery than the cheap unbranded one it replaced. Colour temperature is nicer too… We’ve standardized at 2700K all over the house now. Much less harsh that way.

    Superb quality LED bulbs
Excellent product. So far so good. Can’t really comment on longevity, but the lighting quality is superb.

    Nice. Standard Phillips quality
Phillips is definitely my go to brand for light bulbs because they never fail on quality in my experience. I’m an electrician and would only fit these bulbs in customer houses because I just don’t want any callbacks. The price is really good so I personally wouldn’t quibble over a couple of quid that you’ll probably save anyway because of their longevity.

    Great quality of light.
The Philips ‘Warm-white’ is excellent and is a true warm white that is pleasant to live with whilst giving good illumination. Very good dimming qualities too.

    No buzz!!!
Simple replacement of the set of 4 in our bedroom fan-light. For the first time I’ve found bulbs which do dim, do work with the remote and Don’t Buzz at all! Hurrah!!!

Standard bulbs for use in spotlights
You need to update your display page. It says box of 6 bulbs. However the box now only contains 5 bulbs. I did however receive separately a single bulb to make it up to 6 which I ordered

Can't go wrong with Philips bulbs
Can’t go wrong with Philips bulbs and these don’t disappoint. Lovely brightness and colour temperature.

Two out of six failed after 18 months
Plus side, nice light – vast improvement on halogens, much cooler and more efficient
Downside – ‘average life 15,000 hours’ – so, even averaging 8 hours use a day you’d expect five years out of them.
I fitted mine in Feb 2019 and two have just failed within a week of each other.
I know 15,000 hrs is an ‘average’, but I wouldn’t expect a 33% failure rate after 4,000 hrs maximum (probably closer to 2,000 hrs) I will be contacting Philips, as soon as I can find an address…

SAME BRIGHTNESS - LOWER RUNNING COST
I have been replacing my “Golf Ball” Tungsten Halogen lamps with these LED replacements, so far I notice very little difference in light output, but the power saving is quite obvious from my electricity bill. I can’t comment on life longevity as I have not had them installed long, Highly recommended.
