Great bulbs. Nice and cosy
Great lights.. I would personally like them a little bit warmer but the are much better then horrible glaring bright white bulbs. And to be honest I have six ceiling lights in a medium size kitchen, so I think it would be tricky to find warmer ones.
Great even ligh
These lamps produce a great light probably equivalent to conventional 35W halogen. The colour is warm and the light distribution is very even across the beam angle. The front face is plastic not glass and the appearance is not that attractive. Not sure I’d use them in fully exposed spot lights. Great in recessed down lights though as long as you don’t mind the front face looking a bit unusual. Can’t comment on the life yet as they’ve only just gone in. Runs very cool even at full output.
Good dimmable LED GU10's
I bought these bulbs based on the good reviews and was not disappointed. I had done a fair bit of research to find dimmable LED GU10’s that didn’t flicker or buzz when dimmed as I wanted them for the living room.
These bulbs are brighter than the old incandescent ones they replaced and give off a nice warm bright light that becomes warmer when dimmed.
Can’t go wrong with these bulbs for the price, I would definitely recommend them.
Superior LED bulbs - buy them!
The dimming of these is incredible -from a full bright glow to a dim cosy colour. Will buy Philips only when possible now as these are juts vastly superior to any LED I have come across. Transformer makes no sound when dimmed or otherwise.

So far so good
Look just like conventional GU10s. Fitted no problem in 3 different types of lamp holder. The warm white is almost indistinguishable from the old halogens, if anything slightly brighter which is no bad thing. All this is 24 hours after fitting so of course durability remains to be seen. I’m buying some spares just in case.

I usually don’t post reviews but the moment I fitted these I was amased by just how bright these are. They are a direct replacement for your standard halogen GU10. As I have just fitted these I may update this review at a later date. The photo I have uploaded does not reflect the colour temperature well as these have that warm halogen style hue. Would buy again!
Dim really nicely, very pleased
Replaced some 7w dimmable bulbs (already had a proper LED dimmer) with these 5w bulbs. These are almost as bright at full power, but much much dimmer at low power, and the “warm glow” feature really works nicely. In the photo, they went so dim, that the phone camera flashed (2nd from left) and you can see the orangey colour.
The old ones were great but would not go dim enough for a relaxing meal.
Photos from left:
1 – dim without flash
2 – dim with flash
3 – medium
4 – bright.
Old LEDs were “Goodwin” brand but I can’t find them online; the electrician installed them. So far we’re keeping the other row, which is over the worktop. The warm white colour matches with these at full brightness, ie no obvious mismatch.
Beam maybe slightly more focussed / narrower than the others; this works fine in our kitchen.
life expectancy
Having spoken to numerous electricians it is clear that Philips LED light products seem to last. Time will tell how long. We just had a series of light fittings put in the kitchen and all of the LED lights went after 4 months. It was like pulling teeth to get the electrician back and so we had to replace all of them at our cost. The electrician actually said that Phillips was one of the best and that the wholesale supplier was always trying to get him to try a new make but they always came up short. So it is especially irritating to notice that he was driven by a cost issue and put in cheap short life LED builds. When getting a quote always specify a brand of LED bulb that you are happy to pay for. It is cheaper in the long run.
Dim better than mos
The big issue with LED bulbs is the dim-ability. Many say they are dimmable but for most the lowest dimmed point is about 80% of full brightness – not much good. These bulbs dim to a reasonable 40% or so, which is the best I’ve found.

These give a very pleasant warm light especially when dimmed and is very similar to the effect from the old style non LED GU10 lamps.
However, be careful when buying from different batches as the colour temperature seems to vary slightly.
I bought a 6 pack and a 2 pack and they had different colour temperature especially during dimming. See pic.
Actually work
These are the first LED spot lights that I had that actually work. No flicker when dimmed. No strobe light effect. The warm tine actually gets warmer when dimmed unlike other LESs where the tone of the light just goes ‘greyer’ (even if they are warm white to start with).
These light are more expensive but I won’t buy any others anymore.
Good natural colou
Great colour it looks almost more authentic than the actual incandescent bulbs I replaced. I bought both dimmable and non dimmable versions of these and the dimmer ones were perfect at dimming and the dimmer switch is now also totally quiet.

Replaced 50W halogens without issues
A few of the spotlights in the house where mains voltage GU10 rather than the lower voltage 12V MR16 / GU5.3
Bought these due to philips branding and quite happy with them.
Light is good and almost same colour (yellowish) as the halogens they replace.
The beams are not as wide as other bulbs (which claim 120degrees or more) but these are high up in the ceiling and hence dont cause too much shadows. For lower ceilings I would think other bulbs with a wider beam may help.
These have been in for just a week (bought a back of 6) and so far none have blown and fingers crossed they last!
A bit expensive than what I would have liked but we can now leave these on the landing on all the time for safety rather than worry about the hefty bill with the 50W one’s. Recommended…
Seem good so fa
Slowly changing my halogens for led around the house, will come back and review after a year to see if they really do stand up to the test of time
Bright, Very Bright !!!
I’ve not reviewed the durability or energy efficiency as I’ve only just plugged the bulbs in..
Instant thoughts… Jesus, they’re bright !!!
A nice white light that doesn’t blind or hurt your eyes… very day like.

BRILLIANT
I was advised by my electrician to go for LED bulbs as they last longer and use less energy.
The extra expense is well worth it as LED bulbs are much brighter than the neon ones I replaced. The price for 6 units wins head over heels from the items shown on supermarket shelves by nearly 20%. A no brainer really and lovely for the kitchen.
Very happy with these
Bought 100 of these to replace all the Halogens in the house. Bought when 30% off so a real bargain. Light is bright and so far no problems but only been up for a months.
better than the original incandescent bulbs
These have a better dimmable range and even better warm colour than the original incandescent bulbs. They even seem to clip into their sockets better. So apart from doing the job properly it uses a lot less power and as a handy side effect it also got rid of the slight the buzzing noise coming from the dimmer switch at certain levels.
Warm, bright, dim nicely
Purchased for teenager’s bedroom. I was looking for something warm that could be bright during homework hours and dimmed at other times – especially first thing in the morning. These have proved perfect. Will be buying more.
These LED’s are surprisingly good. At 2700K you’d think they might be too warm, and with an output of 350 lumens not very bright…. but they put out light of a quality which is better, I think, than the 50w Osram halogen lamps they are replacing.
The colour is good, a proper warm white. The brightness is great, and the spread of light (36 degrees for these ones) is better than the old halogens which gave a sharp-edged pool of light, not great as the light died away too quickly. These Philips LED’s are brighter and cleaner than the old halogens, and use only 5.5w!
They’re not the cheapest LED’s but compared with some of the Lohas ones (I’ve done straight comparisons with 4000K and 3000K ones), these Philips LED’s have a clear edge – you can really see to read, or they’re great on pictures etc, too.
I can confirm they are properly dimmable, too. You’ll need a Varilight V-Pro dimmer switch. They only dim down to about 1/3 brighness. But no flicker or any other problems.
Good savings, great light, very brigh
9.79 for 6 4.6w bulbs from the warehouse is really good value. Unused product, packaging had been opened only. Have replaced all 6 lights in my kitchen which were 35w each.
Blown away
I got a six pack of these bulbs and decided to replace the whole room even though only one halogen had gone. I’ve had many LED’s over the years but never really been that impressed and the lifespan had been poor at times. Well these are a game changer, at just over 2 a bulb they offer whole new level of light, I wouldn’t have classed our room as dingy before but it looks totally different now, the light is really crisp and clean as well, very, very impressed.
I did buy the 10 pack a day later and didn’t get exactly the same bulb, the results were good but not as good as the 6 pack.
Very yellow... too yellow for the kitche
I can’t fault the price or durability, they have been up in the kitchen for over 3 months with no issues. However, these are very yellow. Would be ok in a living room or hallway but too yellow for a kitchen. I wish I had known this before hand as I wasn’t sure which one to get. But if you are buying for a kitchen or somewhere where you work, buy the white ones, not these yellowish ones.
Bright but warm ligh
Haven’t had time to test durability or energy efficiency but a neat fit and good replacement for original bulbs in our new house. Slightly warmer light, originals a bit harsh, so planning to work round the rest in time.

Great buy and cool to touch!
I had a halogen bulb explode in my kitchen, Immediately replace them all with these Phillips LED bulbs, they are perfect, very bright, cool to touch and so much safer! Great buy, Great price too!
I was looking for a dimmable LED that would work well with LightwaveRF generation 1 dimmer switches … and I can confirm these are excellent!
They have a good dimming range (still nowhere near as good as halogens of course) and don’t flicker.
For LED GU10 bulbs, they are quite attractive.
I can highly recommend for use with Lightwaverf.
Brilliantly Bright and Excellent Philips Build Quality
Used these in my kitchen instead – 8 of these use less energy than ONE bulb was previously. They are brilliantly bright – so much so that moving to other rooms in my house and they seem darker! Brilliant bulbs and great solid Philips build quality – worth paying the few extra pounds for a trusted brand considering how long these will last.
Good light, doesn't stick to sucke
Far and away the worst feature of all GU10 bulbs is that they can be very difficult to get in and out of the fitting. Some fittings require you to use a rubber sucker in order to temporarily grip the bulb so you can insert it into the fitting then twist it into place. The front surface of these bulbs is not completely smooth so the sucker does not grip. The best technique I have found is to wet both thumbs, apply these to opposite sides of the bulb and twis
Almost as good as tungste
Excellent lamp with extremely good dimming, nice dimmer curve and no flickering at low output.
When paired with a good dimmer switch, Mine was an MK dimmer 30ish, the lower output is very warm and rich similar to its tungsten counterparts

Exactly as described
Good quality LED bulbs at a very sensible price from a top brand. These came well packaged and do the job perfectly. It’s nice to be able to switch to LED and save money.
Big improvement over Halogen !
Very very happy with this product, this product seems like a vast improvement over the halogen GUI10’s installed in my ceiling lights, so much brighter, I am so happy to have these LED’s as the Halogen were expensive to buy and run, these are so economical to buy and use, for me it was a no brainer……

I think I'll buy some more ...
When you don’t need bright ‘daylight’ lamps as in a kitchen, these give you a traditional warm light as of the old incandescent lamps, but with LED economy. Philips lamps are usually expensive but usually last well. But the cost of these was good.
I’ve had dimmable LED bulbs before and have always ended up with that sort of PWM flicker when they’re dimmed. I’m really sensitive to it so when I’ve had other bulbs I never dimmed them as they’d give me a headache. These are the first ones I’ve used that have ZERO perceptible flicker.
They seem to be a bit warmer than other 2700k bulbs I’ve used, but it’s a nice light similar to halogen, and when you dim them the fact that they go down to a warmer 2200k is a really nice feature. Much cosier feeling than other LED bulbs I’ve used.
Brightness is consistent across all bulbs aswell, and they’re very bright despite only being rated around 350 lumens. I’ve got 10 downlights in a 20 sq.m room and I’ve got them set to around 70% most of the time.
Couple downsides – the LED’s seem to be all in the centre of the bulb – so you get a brighter centre and then the edge of the bulbs are basically unlit. I’d prefer a more even spread of light when looking at the bulbs (how often do you really look at your ceiling though). The beam angle of 36 degrees also seems a bit shallower than my previous bulbs, even though they were also rated the same. Not a massive difference, but it’s there. CRI isn’t perfect, and seem to make red stuff pop out a lot. Wouldn’t recommend these if you’re lighting up some artwork.
For a lounge, bedroom, or bathroom though these are great. Nearly identical results to halogen bulbs but at 10% the energy cost.
Dimmable warm LED ligh
Used to light an open plan kitchen area from ceiling. Controlled via a dimmer switch these light dimmed to a low light setting and provided a good level of illumination when on max. Warm light which is very pleasing regardless of setting. Easy to fit.
Would buy again and recommend.
Excellent!
These do the job and do it well. Very good responsive dimming range and a stable non flickering light source.
After trying cheaper bulbs that claimed they could dim I was always disappointed with the results. I decided to bite the bullet and spend a bit more and all I can say is “It was worth it”.

Does the job
Been looking for dimmable lamps that don’t cost silly money. These are great, same colour as usual halogens, they are dimmable although when I changed all 12 they did stutter at low level, probably because the load on the dimmer was too small, I put 2 normal
Halogens back in and everything works fine and you can’t really tell the difference
Best LED bulb ye
For me, these are the new gold standard in dimmable LED bulbs. The colour really does become warmer as they dim, simulating what we expect of dimmed lighter from incandescent bulbs. Dimmed right down to nothing on my standard switch (as opposed to some bulbs which have flickered or shut off before becoming very dim).
I never thought I’d ever write a review about Bulbs… but these bulbs particularly got me to love them as I wasn’t particularly looking for anything particular. I’ve always been Bulb = Light until I got those. The warmth and the quality of the light throughout the spectrum of intensity is just perfect.
After the first purchase, I’ve decided to change to those for my entire home and got rid of the old ones (white light) for these…
I spent a long time researching LED lightbulbs because it seems to be a bit of a minefield… I was looking for bulbs to replace some bright, halogen spotlights in my flat, which has higher than average ceilings. I’ve found that having installed these bulbs, they give off a rather dim, warm glow, probably in line with a traditional 40W incandescent bulb, whereas I was hoping for something closer to a 60W+ brightness as the main source of light for the room.
Pay attention to the lumens value of these bulbs (350lm), which is significantly lower than the cheap 427lm bulbs from Sainsbury’s that I was replacing. I’ve since re-ordered some bulbs with a less yellow colour temperature (3000k rather than 2700k) and a higher lumens rating (500lm), which I’m hoping will give me the bright light I’m hoping for.
Good deal
You won’t belive how much money you can save with this. From 50 a month i get down to 25. Maybe even less. I have in my house around 24. And all use to be clasic. With halogen. That ones overheat and don’t have durability like this ones. I’ll never buy halogen again even is 5 times cheaper.

Warm glow
Bought to replace Screwfix LAP dimmable end of catalog GU10 LEDs that didn’t have the range of diming required for a home cinema. These have a great range, can be dimmed to a background glow ideal of cinema.
Worth Every Penny and More
I’ve purchased the cheap and the Phillips now. This is my second time buying as I’m having some renovation done. In the past I would’ve thought to put 16 or 20 downlights in my large bedroom but with these not only have I saved money on buying less downlights simply because the other LED GU10s I’ve purchased in past were just not as good. Warm white is my fave. Like everyone else, I don’t like changing bulbs. So do yourself a favour and buy these and hope you don’t have to get on that ladder for some time
The best halogen-equivalent dimmable LED that I've ever used.
I’ve tried lots of different makes and models of GU10 LED over the years… but these are by far the best halogen-equivalent dimmable LED that I’ve ever used. Used with a decent dimmer switch, these will smoothly (and silently) dim from a bright 2700k… to an even warmer dim 2200k to absolutely zero… just as you would expect a 50w halogen would. After having tried some GU10 LED’s that flicker, have a very limited dimming range, buzz or are just too ‘laboratory room’ stark in their output… these by comparison, are an absolute revelation.
May be worth noting that I used these with a Varilight V-Pro [programmable trailing edge] dimmer… but to get the very best out of them, I would highly recommend adding the Varilight Glowfix module to each room that you use these bulbs in.
Fed up with the yellowish light coming from a set of 5 Philips 2700k LED’s I fitted a while ago in my white kitchen I ordered a set of 5 of these new type glass ones from Amazon. I’m not sure if the old ones were becoming more yellow with time (but they seemed to be in my opinion) and they also seemed to be losing their lighting brightness.
They were easy to fit, exactly the right size for my recessed GU10 lampholders in the ceiling and these new ones are made from glass, not like the plastic ones I removed so that was pleasing for safety if there ever was a fault. They are a great deal brighter than the LED’s they replaced, and a perfect white light (4000k) as opposed to the yellowish ones they replaced (2700k). My kitchen has never been lit so well and it seems to be a more natural light and food and fruit looks much better than before. The kitchen looks like new now and much more modern than with the yellowish glow. Very well pleased with this colour, it just feels like daylight on a good sunny day.
I’ll be changing some other lamps in the house to 4000k now as it also seems to help me see much better as I age (my eyes arent as great as they used to be)!
These Philips WarmGlow GU10s are excellent light bulbs. I’ve spent many years buying different LED bulbs with a huge variation in success. I’m fussy about the light quality that these bulbs produce, and have an aversion to poor quality lighting (colour temperature and CRI). I’ve used various Philips GU10 LEDs in multiple properties for a number of years, and apart from an early generation of 4W MasterLEDs (which all failed within 2 years), the reliability of the later generation bulbs has been excellent (as high as 98% ok after 2 years). I tried these WarmGlow variants in our hallway — a run of 10 bulbs on a dimmer, and am impressed to say the least. On maximum, they are bright, but not harsh (a true warm white, with no hint of the cold/ghost lighting that some earlier LEDs produced), and I’d say they are perfect for an inviting, homely feeling. When dimmed, then it gets really good — as the bulb is dimmed, the colour temperature decreases, giving a much warmer, softer glow — perfect for evenings. We generally leave the bulbs at around 80%, even in the daytime. I’m really pleased with these (you can probably tell), and at 19.99 for 6, will certainly be using more in the future. I don’t work for Philips, and paid for my bulbs in full.
Perfect!
I have no idea how I used to live before these lights!! The other ones we had made a buzz noise when dimmed and their dim was stepwise and not gradual. These lights are just perfect!
Brighten up your rooms
Very bright – as equivalent wattage to the old tech bulbs these replaced they are much brighter.
They don’t have a smooth surface (it’s raised) so the rubber suction cup used to grip them to get them in and out of light fittings doesn’t work very well, so these are much more difficult to fit and may prove impossible to remove if/when they eventually fail. Hence the 4 not 5 stars.
Check your bulb fixture shape requirements...
I do agree with Movie aficionado’s comments about the bulb shape being fatter than the norm.
If your GU10 bulb fitting socket has a chamfer like my bathroom lights – then you will be 50/50 be able to successfully fit these. I was close to returning them after spending some 20mins trying to fit them to my bathroom ceiling fixture but with a bit more pressure they did fit in.
The light output in comparison to my dated Halogens is worlds apart – very bright yet warm. So bright that I’ve often contemplated removing one of the three bulbs from the fixture just to dim things down a tad! Hopefully these last longer than the halogens. Time will tell.
Excellent value and quality.
Excellent LED equiv of 50W halogen lamps, a warm white and they are as bright as the Halogen lamps replaced. Excellent value as I purchased 2 from a local DIY shop and paid 10 for 2.
Highly Recommend!
Would highly recommend!
Exact replacements for 50w halogen GU10’s. Same brightness and the colour temperature is almost identical. I’ve had these in for 6 months now without any issues so will be purchasing more to replace all halogens with them as they consume less than a tenth of the power of a 50w.

Really good bulbs. have bought one pack of the 2 ...
Really good bulbs. have bought one pack of the 2 and one pack of the 6 for use in my kitchen to replace some Lumilife ones that were buzzing really loudly.
The Philps bulbs are a very pleasant colour, not bright white but a slightly muted white, almost yellow colour that you would get from an older Halogen light. It makes the kitchen feel a lot more cosy.

Very energy-efficient bulbs.
I had to get some new GU10s as one of my kitchen spotlights had failed. I got a pack of six and just replaced all of them in there. I was using 50W GU10s – these are only 4.6W LEDs and they produce the same amount of light.
10/10, will definitely buy again.
I love the even colour and coverage these give, all bulbs exactly the same, and the colour/coverage is identical to a non-LED GU10 bulb.
These did flicker when dimmed, but as soon as i’d swapped them all for the same bulbs this flickering stopped completely. I now realise that having a mixture of cheap & quality bulbs on the same circuit isn’t great as the cheap ones cause these ones to flicker. I’ll definitely be buying these again.
Very happy with the lamps
Very happy with the lamps. They are a a good match for the ones that were replaced. With the fittings I have one can see the lamp so it was important that they looked similar.
I would have bought a second lot but the price went up by 21% !!! Might still get some, or wait and see if the price falls again.
Definitely the best LED GU10 bulbs I have purchased to date – I’ve tried may variants, mostly the cheaper GU10 LED versions but the quality of the light was always inferior to these Philips LED Classic 5.5 W GU10 Glass Dimmable Spot Light (Replacement for 50 W Halogen Spot) – Warm White, Pack of 6 ; cheaper versions give “a blue haze” which these Philips Warm White bulbs don’t.
In our kitchen we had sixteen 50w halogen spot lights; they contribute 40% to the overall household lighting bill. I have now replaced all 16 with 5.5w dimmable ones and am looking forward to a reduction in the monthly electric bill.
OK, the initial investment is higher – I paid approximately 4.50 per GU10 LED bulb but they have a stated lifetime of 15,000 hours – which is 10 years of normal daily use – so the cost is recovered by never needing to replace the halogen GU10’s every 6 months.

Fitted 5 of these lights in my living room they are warm and very bright they look superb I am very happy with the purchase they also work very well through my dimmer switch be careful as some lights do not work correctly through a dimmer switch but these ones work and they work very well highly recommended
Great bulb
Great led bulbs, fitted in my living room ceiling inset/flush fittings. They fit nice and flush in the fitting not sticking out a bit like some, they are also look frosted which means no ugly led bits showing. Unobtrusive just as they should be
An excellent buy even if they are pricey
I bought these frosted-glass diffuser LED lights as a replacement for 2.5W clear glass ones that came with the original light fitting as supplied by another company (even though these 5.5W ones were recommended as replacement lights(!??). I’m delighted with these lights as not only have they twice the output power, they fill the with with a much softer light.

Great but made of glass??
Greatly LED bulbs once again by Philips.
Wife beam and perfect 2700k “warm white” colour.
Instant on and being Philips they’ll not discolour.
My only gripe is that the bulb is made of glass and not plastic, I’m sure there’s a reason but as a consequence they’ll smash if you accidentally drop them.

great LED lights which are dimmable and give a warm yellow light to the room
Well worth forking out a bit more for good quality LED lights. The yellow light was exactly what I was looking for as I really don’t like the harsh white light from other LED bulbs. The quality of the bulb is reflected with things like there being no delay when switched on and no flickering at all. Really pleased and would highly recommend.

Brilliant stuff
The best ones that I’ve ever bought. Exactly the same size as the halogen gu10 lamps, but only 5.5 Watts. These ones are the dimming type that need a dimmer switch designed for led lamps. Get the correct dimmer switch for these and they will dim without any flickering effect. Warm white colour.

I had previously used led gu10’s from other stores, I found that eventually they would go dull or a green colour, these 5.5w from Philips are brilliant much brighter but more of a traditional colour tone warm white, I find sometimes that the white ones are slightly clinical, eventually buying halogen gu10’s Will be impossible due to them now being banned in the uk, but these seem the best brand to go with by far and I’ve tested quite a few various brands and so far Philips are leading the way led wise.
Time will tell if they dull as fast as the other brands or go a funny green colour but judging by the change in technology since I first bought led gu10’s I highly doubt they that they will.
A few things to consider when buying lights:
Colour temperature – measured in degrees kelvin. These bulbs are 2700k (warm white)
Wattage – 5.5w (almost a tenth of the halogen equivalent). These bulbs are more powerful than their 50w halogen counterpart
Colour rendition index (CRI) – how good the bulb is at reflecting colours naturally; if the bulb lights a painting, for example, youd want the colours in the painting to be as true to life as possible. An inferior bulb (with a low CRI) would make paintings / photos / colours on the wall appear not how they were intended. The CRI is a number out of 100. This bulb has a CRI rating of 80. Its this number (that although for this price is relatively industry standard) slightly lets it down.
Economic viability
I bought the 6-pack making each bulb 3.66
The halogen equivalent would be 0.65
The LED lasts 15,000hrs and the halogen 2,000hrs. Youd need to buy 8 halogens to meet the same lifespan, at a cost of 5.20. so these bulbs pay for themselves outright
If you pay 10p per kilowatt hour for your electricity then a 50w halogen bulb would cost 0.5p per hour and the 5w LED 0.05p per hour, or 75 or 7.50 for 15,000 hrs respectively
Youd save 1.54 on the bulbs but 67.50 on electricity
The photo attached to this review shows the Philips LED bulb and a halogen 50w bulb side by side. The Philips bulb is noticeably brighter.
The photo was taken on a canon 5d MK3 with automatic white balance….the fairest test i could do.
Conclusion
Cheap to buy and cheaper to run than halogen
Brighter than halogen counterpart
CRI not great but more than ok for the price
Doesn’t dim all the way down
Would I buy it again? No, Id buy the Philips master expert colour / color. Its got a better CRI, it dims all the way down to 5%, a better colour temperature and still makes financial sense
that said, for the money these are the best on the marke
Fit my spotlight - very nice colou
So far to good! Just replaced a spotlight that had gone out with this one and it works like a charm. Sharp yet warm light filled the room right away and it does cover a lot of area! I can’t attest to its longevity but so far so good!
Reliable
Have been replacing my original Osram lights which have been giving me lot of difficulties with flashing , early failure and even power trips. These have been giving me no trouble at all. So far so good.
Bright and dimmable however one failed!
Had been searching LED to replace halogen lamps, which are far more expensive to run and a much shorter life. The brightness of these new Philips LED is fantastic, much brighter than the halogens they replaced. So much so we’re having to dim them in the kitchen where we have all 6 fitted. Hence the attraction to these dimmable LED bulbs. Unfortunately, one failed on the same evening they were installed, so the jury is out!? I have immediately contacted Philips by email and sent a copy of the invoice. So I’m testing their warranty and customer service, so lets wait and see.
Update: Philips support sent a replacement bulb. I can’t fault the support they have provided.
Brilliant Bulbs.
These are Brilliant, they are a good warm light, not clinically bright like other bulbs I have purchased. They get up to full brightness immediately and they give off very little heat compared to a halogen. Used in the bathroom and kitchen so far, I am going to buy some more to replace halogens as and when they blow. They also look quite stylish. Good deal when I bought six, LED prices are coming down.
Good quality
Great halogen replacement. Have several fittings which I am gradually replacing with led bulbs and these are some of the best. Good quality of light, come on instantly and don’t get anywhere near as hot as halogen. Even where the fittings are exposed glass the light leakage around the back of the bulbs is a pleasant purple glow. To date none of the GU10 Philips bulbs I have fitted have failed unlike their halogen counterparts.
The best dimmable LED lights
These are really good. The light quality is really nice, nothing like the LED light bulbs of old. Very similar light to a normal halogen bulb, and when dimmed down, they retain the exact same colour of light, unlike filament bulbs which will turn noticeably more orange when dimmed. Worked flawlessly with my dimmer switch (make sure you get one rated for LEDs), with no flickering when turned right down.
Warm, bright lights
We have lots of spotlights in the ceilings and light fixtures around our home and I have been gradually replacing them all with Philips LED bulbs. These were for our hallway and give off a really bright and warm light, easily equivalent to the ordinary GU10 bulbs they have replaced.

Look like an incandescent bulb
These bulbs are the closest we have found to incandescent light. Rated at 2700 Kelvin they produce a warm slightly yellow light that keeps rooms looking warm and cosy. My wife is photosensitive and struggles with lighting, so far these have a good compromise between her condition and the cost of running/bulb life. She does however dispute the instantaneous switch on claim – she can detect a flicker that she doesn’t get with traditional incandescent bulbs.
Attached photo shows these lights, the Philips LED warm white 2700K on the left, and Philips LED cool white 4000K on right.
The walls in my flat are predominantly painted white and found the warm white simply too yellow for places such as the kitchen and bathroom, making it a little difficult on the eye. I still decided to use these however for the living room.
They are bright, just more yellow than I had thought (even more so than my previous halogens), but my fault there for not researching.
So I bought a competitor’s GU10 bulbs Lampaous 10x 5W GU10 LED bulb Day White day light LED GU10 Spot lights 450lm natural white pure white LED light bulb 50W halogen replacement and chose the “daylight” coloured ones based on reviews that its “warm” coloured ones gave out a sickening yellow haze. I was impressed with the power output but was a little upset that the bulbs were not directional enough. The colour was very similar to daylight and after installing three of these in my bathroom, it became clear these were not for me. Whilst they were far far brighter than the old incandescent, they had a uniform output which lit up every recess and made the bathroom look clinical. The warm cosy feel was gone. So I turned to these Philips bulbs, and I am blown away. They are not quite as cheap, but this is the real deal, the closest thing you can get to a real incandescent halogen. Unlike the competitor’s 120 degree beam, these are true to GU10 spotlights, with a narrower 36 degree beam (see photos attached). The original daylight ones I bought may well suit a kitchen with colourful tiles, but I would definitely avoid them in places you would not want to look clinical. Also I took a slow motion video with my phone (see attachments) and the competitor’s suffers from flickering (hardly noticeable to the eye) whilst the Philips is rock solid. Definitely recommend! In the video: Philips (left) incandescent (centre) competitor (right).
Excellent LED GU10 bulbs
Excellent quality LED, look great and the light tone and quality is as good as the halogen bulbs being replaced. These fit my kitchen and utility light fittings where other LED’s I’ve tried wouldn’t fit as they have exactly the same profile as halogen GU10’s. I’ve just bought some more to complete the job of replacing all the bulbs. They seem as bright as the 50W halogens being replaced only with a 90% saving in energy!

I’ve bought the pack of 6 for my kitchen, as a replacement for halogen lights.
Excellent product – bright, produces much less heat than halogen and highly efficient.
On the negative side, I don’t like GU10 socket – it’s inconvenient in home use. Though, it’s not a product fault, just a bad engineering in my kitchen lamp.
… and these are the best price/quality I’ve found.
I’ve had a farcical experience with GU10 LED Dimmables I’ve been through 2 types of dimmer module and 4 brands of different prices and quality.
After trying Lumilife, Lumin Tekco and Allcam bulbs with Varilight V-Pro and Aurora Zero Cross Dimmer modules.
These Philips bulbs are the only ones that don’t buzz, whine or flicker.
Better than many LED dimmable bulbs
Good dimmable bulbs. Some LEDs used to have an ‘interesting’ view of being dimmable, with not all that much variability. These give a good response to the dimmer switch, and give a pleasant light as well when turned up.
As Described, Bright as Halogens.
Purchased in Jan 2017 – Some Halogen lamps had gone in our Kitchen and was looking to upgrade to something with a bit less heat and a bit more modern looking – These are perfect. They appear brighter than the old halogen ones (which are also Phillips) and are a warm coloured LED light that you would fool for being a regular halogen.
Have bought another set to replace some in another room.

Great LED replacements to standard halogen GU10 bulbs. The light it given off is hard to tell apart from the standard halogen 50watt bulbs yet there only 4.6 watt! They hardly give off any heat where as the halogens get lava hot! On paper they should last four times as long too (time will tell), with the energy saving they should be great value
I have just installed these to replace eight halogens in my kitchen and six in my converted garage. I tried one at first along side the good quality halogens that give a lovely warm light and there was no difference, even the wife said there was no difference. So I swapped them all over and am very pleased with the quality of light- very bright and warm. I’ve had led spots in the past and vowed that i would never use them again because of the awful light given off – they made our kitchen look green and people in the room look very unwell.
These spots are perfect , they are cheap to run, give off excellent light, look like halogens and cost only 3.33 each delivered.
