Brings carpets back to new, sucks water up well leaving carpet almost dry.
Hand tool is perfect for cleaning stairs and light to carry.
Great for the price
Great suction, good spray. Large bottles. Works well. Only note is the weight of the machine, it’s quite heavy for a spot cleaner.
Cleans fabric very well but can’t be used for tight spots
It does a very good job at what it’s meant to, I use it to make old sofas look like new. My only problem is that you can’t use it for smaller crevices as it only has the one massive head.
Great machine, but design flaws.
In use the machine does a good job of cleaning carpets and upholstery. The big problem is the design of the tanks. Would have been better if the fill and emptying holes could have been on top of the tanks instead of where they currently are. The instructions say the bung in the waste tank can be removed and the hole is big enough to put your hand in to clean it properly, not a chance, unless you’re a baby.

After much deliberation I chose the rug doctor over similar machines priced slightly lower due to good reviews. It certainly does the job, I’ve used it on rugs, carpets, the stairs and on the car seats. The dirt you see getting sucked out is incredible! Highly recommend for messy dogs and kids if you have carpet.
Cons- it’s a work out. You need to press hard on the brush to get really good suction, my nana or anyone who suffers with arthritis would find this quite painful. I used it for about an hour straight and my wrist was sore.
Design faults are clear, to fill and empty the canisters you have to lift them up directly out of the hole and then try and flip them upside to avoid the water leaking everywhere(which is impossible). The spray nozzle on the brush head also leaks quite a bit which leads to fresh drips on areas you’ve already cleaned.
These aren’t dealbreakers and I still think it’s worth the money. Probably the best compact machine for the price!
Very effective - it’s saved us a fortune already
Plus: very effective and straightforward to use once the machine is filled. The clean water tank is tricky, as it doesn’t sit on a base when being filled
Easy Storage
purchased this item for convenience and easy storage. Does the job very well compared to others carpet cleaners but can be a bit cumbersome. Also emptying the waste water can prove difficult if you are disabled but other than that the product is priced reasonable.

Does the job
Straight forward to use and does a pretty good job of cleaning small areas. Others have commented on the design of the water tank and it would be easier if there was a flat section on the tank that could be rested on when filling but not a show stopper. Occasionally, carpet fluff started to accumulate in the narrow suction section on the back of the head and needed unblocking but otherwise all worked well. Happy to recommend.

Worth its weight in gold when you have pets
Bought this to clear up pet accidents, it is much more pleasant to use than hand scrubbing or using smaller hand held carpet spot cleaners. Good suction leaves carpet with less retained water, drying quickly.
Worth the money
I’ve been hiring a rug dr for a while now. I took the risk and purchased this rug dr for my stairs and rug. It’s actually better then the rug dr I’ve been hiring. This little cleaner is amazing. Carpet and rug has dried really quick. And it’s back looking clean and new agai
Easy to use and very effective
I bought this because I’m disabled and keep spilling things.
My place is too small for a normal carpet cleaner, this also seemed to have the strongest motor.
Does a great job, now cleaning my carpet a small section at a time.
Good for rugs and small areas of carpet.
After reading reviews of several spot carpet cleaning machines I decided on this one. I’m very happy with it so far, it has tackled all the spills, stains and pet based mishaps that I have tested it on. I have used it on a hallway rug and the brushes help to pull the dirt out very well the rug was dry in a couple of hours. It leaves the carpet dry enough to walk on and it has better suction than my big carpet cleaner which is another well known brand.
