Shark 'snaps' it up
Absolutely brilliant. I use it almost as much as my main Shark vac. So easy and convenient to use. Suction is superb. I have to watch that my carpets don’t get sucked in!!! Recommend to everyone. It might seem a little expensive, but you get what you pay for.
We have a shark (mains powered) upright vac and this seemed a good choice to replace our dyson handheld vac that appeared to self destruct after nearly ten years.
Whilst maybe not as powerful as the dyson for the price point it works really well, and the suction is good but does tail off as the small bin starts to fill. There is a (paper?) filter that can get quite clogged up but fortunately it is easy to access and clean (looks like a mini version of a car air filter).
Despite their not appearing to be much price difference between the single and dual battery (think they were on a promo at the time) the dual battery has a massive advantage. Photo’s don’t show it very well, but the second battery docks/charges in the same holder that the shark sits in and switching the battery is easy. Believe I read somewhere that the single battery version is a different design and the battery cannot be easily changed but could be wrong.
The dyson was good that the unit could be wall mounted but this isn’t really a big issue that the shark needs to sit on a flat surface. The unit appears to be well made and there is a spring flap after the nozzle that stops any bugs from crawling out of the unit (unlike the dyson!).
The only reason for not giving the unit a full five stars is that the design of the unit (pretty much standard dual filter) is that the suction diminishes as the bin fills up. This is probably why it has a small bin, to encourage frequent emptying after each use – which is easy with the single button release.

Yeah, I know its a hoover, but, it’s still easily one of the best products we have bought for the house. Perfect for those little spillages that happen that would require the ‘normal’ hoover. This is also great for my car as the different attachments available mean there is sometjing for every situation.
Brilliant little hoover, good suction and really lightweight. Sleek enough design to be in a prominent position in the house when it’s on charge. Easy, clean emptying procedure.
…if you are debating the single or twin battery models, definitely go for the twin battery. The first battery charges as part of the hoover as normal and the ‘spare’ battery charges in the holder so it’s ready of you ever need to swap over.

This is my third make of handheld vacuum (others were Dyson and Black & Decker) and absolutely the best. It vacuums up crumbs and keeps them, whereas crumbs used to trickle out of the other two as soon as you turned them off. It is a lovely slim, easily to hold and manoeuvre design. Wish I’d bought one before. Well worth the money.

Love this handheld – so efficient, battery seems to last for ages. Review in Which said it was mega noisy but I don’t agree and as it’s so good it is hardly on for any length of time in any event. Great piece of kit.
The Shark cordless vacuum arrived on third day. Upon opening the box and reading the instructions, I set about setting up for charging. Quite strait forward with full charge taking a few hours. Meanwhile I went onto the sharkclean website to register said unit. I like the contemporary design of the unit and the reviews hence the purchase. I was looking for a handheld vacuum to compliment my robot cleaner/mop, to reach those nooks and crannies the robot is unable to get to such as skirting boards, cupboards, shelves and the tops of doors etc. The Shark is well made and sturdy for its task. Design elements have been well engineered for easy removal and cleaning, such as the dustcup and filters. Once charged I needed a good task for the unit as the instructions say to run the batteries to exhaustion on the first use to ‘set’ the battery. Removing a kickback, there I found sufficient dirt for a good run. The unit performed beyond expectation as one can see via the photographs. This was dust, dirt and construction mess that has not been touched in three years, not just marketing cereal placed on a surface. The Shark sucked it all up with the assistance of a little brushing from the Duster Crevice tool. The vacuum lasted about 8-10 minutes with a pause to allow the unit to cool, as the handle does get warm. After a five minute wait I got another minutes use before changing battery. The power and sucking capability was more than sufficient for this task as such the evidence is excellent to recommend this Shark Cordless Vacuum. As a bonus, once registered the unit is guaranteed for five years and the batteries for two, a great manufacturer’s assurance in their product worth.

I had this handheld on my wishlist for ages and finally bought it in the black friday sale for just under 100 and so glad I did. I wanted something lightweight and not bulky and this is just perfect.
I can do lots of areas like the stairs or skirting boards with ease without having to lug around our heavy bulky main vacuum.
I quite often don’t need to use the second battery but it’s great to have it just in case.

Great addition to the family! For small jobs it’s perfect. Quick tidy up after meals, hovering the car, skirtings etc it’s fab. Ignore the reviews of people saying it doesn’t suck a grain of rice it does! Mine sucked a fair few last night! For us busy Mum’s and Dad’s it’s a must have! Easy to use and clean. Charge time is a couple of hours for a run time of 8minutes in each battery. Light to hold. Couple of different attachments. Spare parts available on shark plus a 2 year Gurantee on the battery’s and 5 years on the device it’s self. I would recommend this. I would get the twin battery not the single if you are worried about not having enough time to get done what you need to with it.

Great little Vacuum Cleaner - very happy
I love this little Vacuum Cleaner.. I was reluctant to spend out as I had never tried one and quite a lot to spend if it didn’t meet my expectations… but a week after buying this I am wondering how I ever managed without it! I don’t get my large hoover out anymore, just a quick hoover round with this to pick up all the cat hairs from my polished concrete floors and floor rugs, works a treat. Very happy with my purchase!

Bought this to deal with small jobs in the kitchen and dining room. Great suction and quickly picks up crumbs bits of dust etc. Charging unit can be tucked into a corner so it is nice and discreet. Easy to empty without any fuss
Fantastic for what it does.
Great hand held vacuum.
Have no run into any issues using it now for over a month. I use it daily around the kids, in the car and all over the house.
The suction is great, the ease of emptying the try is amazing and the size/shape is second to none.
Only issue was the battery wasnt as long as one other older one, but thats because i tried to do too much in between charges (did the whole living room and then the entire car).
All in all very happy with it, even though it was a little pricey, I think its probably the best in the market for what it does. Have already recommended to family and friends and they love it too.
Super practical
This hoover is super handy to have at the house. Because it’s small, nice to look at and comes with a dock, I can leave at my reception room beside the TV. Any time I need to clean something I can just grab it with one hand, press a button, clean the thing, and put it back if it’s not full. Super, super practical. Genius product, highly recommend it.
The suction power are not that great, but it’s not weak either. It’ll work fine for most work. That’s also why the short battery life is also not an issue. Most of the time I use it for less than a minute before returning it to its dock.

Have used it around the house several times for small spillages of dry items (not wet as it is not meant to be used on fluids) small capacity for debris but this has to be expected for the size of the machine. Air exhausts from the side which can blow some of the dirt around but a bit of practice will overcome this problem

Brilliant bit of kit for quick clean ups, however, before you purchase this you might want to look at the Beldray Revo Cordless Handheld Vacuum Cleaner it’s basically the same thing but 3x cheaper!

So I took the plunge and omg I’m so pleased at how handy it is and it’s so convenient for family life. Oh look, crumbs on the floor or table, all I have to do is grab it from the Dock and hoover the mess instead of finding the attachment for my Dyson then removing and attaching the part on, its a hassle.

Suction is impressive and it pulls fine dust out the sofa and cushions every time we give it a once over. Haven’t run the battery down in one use yet, so far we have not used the second battery, it seems to run longer than the stated 8 minutes but I’m sure as the battery degraded over time the second battery will come in handy.
Negatives- Fiddly to clean around the dust container, the coarse filter and fine filter. You do need to regularly (after every 5 or so uses) need to clean the cloth fine particle filter. U can bang it on the side of the sink but the particles it captures are so fine thst dust goes everywhere. Better to use another vacuum to suck it clean. U can wash them too but have to wait for it to dry so I will probably buy some extra filters.
The extra crevice attachment does not stay on the vacuum, it should snap in but was too small and just falls off. I ended up heating the end up in a cup of boiling water and stretched the opening of the crevice tool by wedging some pliers in the end to stretch the opening, once the plastic cooled down it kept its shape and now stays on the end but you shouldn’t really need to have to hack it for it to work.
There isn’t a holder for the additional crevice tool either on the stand so you have to leave it sitting around… it doesn’t charge with either tool on the end so I’m sure it will get misplaced at some point.
Given the design and suction though and that I got it on sale overall I’m pleased with it.

However, I bought the 2 battery one because it was the same price as the 1 battery one. Reading reviews and on the Shark website, it wasn’t clear whether the attachments fitted the stand as well as the 2nd battery. On balance, and looking at pictures, I thought they did. They don’t. I find this very annoying as I don’t really need 2 batteries. I only ever use it to pick up small spills etc. I’d rather the attachments fitted the stand so they were ready to hand.

Bought this product solely to use in my car and also just for quick jobs so I didn’t have to grab out my big corded hoover. This hoover has helped me keep the home and car so tidy as it’s quick and easy to just pick up and use there and then. Only downside is I wish the battery was longer. Can’t understand why a double battery only gives you 15ish mins. And also sometimes I think you pay for the brand aswell, I was lucky to get this at a good Black Friday deal but I don’t think it’s worth the full price.

I received my shark handheld hoover for Christmas as a present. I struggle with bad arthritis in both hands and was really struggling to hoover my stairs with my normal corded hoover.

Love this. Would never buy simgle battery only dual as they go flat quite quickly. However, perfect for stairs, inside cars. Nooks and crannies. Powerful cleaner for its size.
Reasonable alternative to pricier handhelds
We were looking for a more reasonably priced replacement for our Dyson handheld. Does the job and is light to carry. Order the package that comes with 2 battery packs so you have a spare.

It’s not a substitute for a traditional cleaner like my Miele but I got this for in between uses, due to my dog casting lots. Easy to empty the dust bit, although make sure you do it over a bin as it does eject quickly. I was amazed at how much dust and hair this lifted.
I have a sore elbow at the minute and this is helping me to vacuum. Wish I’d bought this sooner, would highly recommend.

I have a Shark upright vacuum cleaner and now this handheld with double batteries I can honestly say that this has been the best items I have ever had in my 38 years being married. Great little product if you take it for what it is and use accordingly.
I use mine in tandem with a Eufy Robovac which does the bulk of the vacuuming, then just go behind it with the Shark getting in all the nooks and crannies the robot can’t along with sofas/furniture etc. It’s PERFECT for this application as the design allows great access to awkward places. It’s also excellent for cleaning the car out.
I’d definitely recommend getting the dual battery option as just one battery would be of limited use, only sporadic spills and such but two gives much more versatility to do some ‘proper cleaning’ with it.
I don’t think it’s worth the full retail price (very few products are) but if you can nab the dual battery model when it’s discounted then it’s a worthy ally in the war on dust!
Okay so it’s a vacuum. They suck…. literally. I mean we’ve all seen mrs hinch use hers and other “celebs” showing off their free products but in reality does it work and is it useful? Yes. 100% yes. I reluctantly bought this as a present for my partner who was obsessed with having one and figured it’ll make her happy so why not. Since then I’ve used it almost everyday and cannot recommend it enough. Seriously if you’re reading this stop reading and hit buy. And whilst you’re at it get the twin battery version. You can thank me later. Enjoy!
After reading some of the other reviews I was nearly put off buying this item.
Other reviews complain about the battery power and the suction. However when you’re buying a hoover like this I’d hope that like me you’d be buying it as a secondary hoover to quickly pick up mess without getting the main hoover out.
With that in mind the battery life is more than adequate. I’ve just used it to clean an estate car from the boot to the front following not only a tip run, but also to pick up every biscuit crumb the summer holidays had chosen to grind into the seats. The battery died just as I was finishing up.
Suction is clearly not going to be as powerful as a mains powered hoover with a rotating brush. The crevice attachment helps to increase the suction for pickup if larger items.
Overall does exactly what I’d expect a tiny rechargeable hoover to do.

Light weigh
I am very happy with the Shark hand held cleaner. I used a Gtec Air ram previously and was not happy that you needed to hold the on switch down whilst in use or the lack of suction.
We already have a Shark battery cleaner and have been very pleased with it but thought this little cleaner would be more convenient to pick up the odd crumbs on chairs and dust under tables and we were right.
The pictures show a very neat little unit and it would be hard to imagine a home that could not find a convenient home for it. The charging stand also holds a small floor tool and a crevice tool.
In use it is very good. There is massive suction and if it is held at the wrong angle it easily sticks to hard surfaces. The small floor and fabric tool works well and has slots on each side to let the air in so you get that all important air flow and no sticking problems. Not tried the crevice tool but it would be good down the size of cushions etc. Emptying is very easy. Just hold over a bin and press the button.
Now to the part which has been criticised in some reviews. Battery life. This is a cleaner for picking up the odd spill. It was never designed to clean the house and if you try to do that you will be disappointed. That is not a criticism of the tool, just a case of using the right tool for the job. Out of the box I have just gone around our living and dining room floors picking up the bits on the hard floors and then cleaned the top of the entertainment unit and two chairs and a sofa. My wife then had a play with it and the battery is still going strong.
First impression is that as a backup to a full sized tool with the advantage of not having to get a big vacuum out for the odd crumb spill it is perfect.

I bought this for quick pick ups around the house. Having owned other Shark vacuums I was expecting good suctions and it delivered.
Comes with 3 attachments but sadly only one will live on board.
The spare battery also lives on board however it just sits there it does not charge, it would have been nice if it did change that why when ones drained out, you use the other one but if they both drained you’re stuck waiting around. Build quality is top as you expect from Shark.

Good quality product good suction battery life is good but could be better overall a handy hover that gets lots of use
I bought the Shark WV251UK Cordless Handheld Vacuum Cleaner, Twin Battery on Prime Day (15/7/2019) because I have a Shark upright model (which is brilliant), and because the twin battery model was cheaper than the single battery model when I completed my purchase.
Overall, I’m pleased with it, and it has done the little jobs I wanted it for e.g. hoovering the car, picking up cat hair, and a quick flit down the stairs (mine are not carpeted) without getting the upright Shark out. I’m happy with its performance as it does these little jobs quite easily.
I’ve not used it over the ‘supposed’ 8-minute battery length yet, so I can’t comment on the battery length, sorry if that doesn’t help those of you who feel this is the most important thing. To be honest if I wanted to do the usual hoovering jobs around the house I’d get the upright Shark out the cupboard. This purchase for me was literally for the little jobs and any mishap sort of jobs, which is what I personally think this is designed for.
The only thing I’m disappointed in is when I opened the box and unpacked it, it immediately became obvious that Shark don’t supply a base for everything. I don’t have a slot for both tools supplied with it. This made me look online again at both the twin and single battery products. The single battery model has slots for both the crevice and pet tool, and yet the twin battery only has a slot for one of the tools. As Shark has decided to do a model with a separate battery they should have made the base with 2 slots, to house both the crevice and pet tool. What I’ve ended up doing is putting the pet tool in the slot and laying the crevice tool length ways between the spare battery housing and the pet tool slot (please see photo). This is not a cheap product by any means, so you’d expect the manufacturer to make sure all tools had their own slots, shame on you Shark!

The first time I used it, I also used attachment with the lint strip – and it peeled off. I tweeted a moan at Shark and to their credit, they sorted me out with a large head in the same design, but obviously with a better lint strip on it. I use it all the time for our cars, and I love that you just drop it back in the cradle and that it’s always ready to go. Despite the first flat-head tools’ demise, the crevice tool is great, and I love the flip-back brush feature.
We also have a Dyson cordless in the house, mainly for the stairs and minor cat-related hair deposits, and while it’s more capable (it has a rotating brush head and a bigger bin), I still prefer the Shark for the car. And at more than double the price, I think I could live with just the Shark – though because we have the Dyson, I do still use that for the stairs.
The small bin isn’t an issue – it’s so easy to empty, and while other complain about the battery life, I can (just!) clean both our cars on one charge, though I do them regularly so they aren’t that bad. If your car is messy, then I don’t think this is for you…
This is a nicely made device and I’d give it 5 stars as purchased knowing it’s limits (small bin/battery life), but the tool failure first use knocks it down. For that reason, I’d have given it 3 stars but Sharks fast and helpful service mean I’m happy to give it 4 stars. If you have an issue, just be sure to get in touch with them.

Good product and tacked small jobs well. I mainly use it for the kitchen crumbs and kids car seats and the car. Battery is used up quick so I would say get the dual battery model
Best thing I have ever bought. The suction is brilliant. The accessories are so sweet. Took me a while to figure out the stand holds the accessories too. I haven’t had the battery run out on me yet, I have used mine for the stairs and the car and didnt run out on either times.
I have read a lot of reviews saying that the battery dies. But I guess time will tell with that.

Great suction for a small handheld unit.
Overall the product is great for a handheld vacuum however I was a little disappointed that after a couple of uses the fabric strips on the Pet Tool accessory started to come off. I spoke with Amazon Product Support team who were great, however they informed me the complete unit needed to be replaced and due to the availability of the item would take 1-4 weeks to arrive, which didn’t, fit in with my needs, so informed them I would contact Shark UK directly to enquire if they are able to provide a replacement Pet Tool accessory instead of returning the whole unit.

Love this, me and my 15 year old daughter are always using it and it’s great for a quick run over the car when my dogs left all of her hair everywhere!

100 for a handheld vacuum I think is a lot to pay, however this piece of kit lives up to its reputation. I was hesitant to buy as it only has a short battery life but I’ve never actually ran out. It lives on its charger so always fully charged & ready to go. I can do the stairs in full without worrying about running out. I love it for skirting boards, the car, round cupboards in the kitchen that are hard to get at with big vacuum and vacuuming crumbs under the toaster! So handy!
The only suggestion I would make is a base that you could hang on the wall to put away in a cupboard instead of having to have it sit on a flat surface. Not a big deal as happy enough with it in my utility room.

This small slim handheld vac is fabulous for small clean ups and for in the car. The suction is one of the best handheld vacuum I have found, I am very pleased with my purchase. Really easy to use, the spare battery is great. I leave it plugged in most of the time so it’s always ready to use. Would definitely recommend.

There is a small bag less area to collect dust but even though it looks too small it compacts the dust so you get much more in than you think and it’s easy to empty, press one button side comes out and empty into bin, push side back in and away you go. It’s so good that it got my son to use it to do his room as it looks and feels posh and neat and not at all like these other dustbusters that are so big and cumbersome. Would definitely recommend.

Great little cordless vac
I have a cordless vac for my floor but this is a handy little one for smaller jobs. It has great suction and is lightweight. Although it is quite expensive I would highly recommend it.
I absolutely love this hand held hoover; so much so that this was bought as a present for my daughter as I already bought myself one a few weeks earlier. I find this more light weight and ergonomic (which surprised me due to the shape) than other handhelds, and with the double battery it lasts a good 20 mins. Even copes with my constantly shedding Labrador!
Loved this and have used it for hard to reach places, hoovering out drawers, Roman blinds, odd spillages etc. Strong enough but not as strong as regular hoover. Got the two batteries so longer use. Would prefer longer battery life but for what I need it’s great and glad I bought it.

If your looking for a Hoover for quick pick up jobs this is the one. Battery last only ten minutes but I got the 2 battery’s with mine. In all honesty if your using for more than 10 mintues at a time then your using the wrong hoover for the job. This cleans pet hair with ease on sofas carpets and tiles. Having a beagle this machine has changed the way we hoover our home and those few times you don’t need the big one out just use this. Tried a few and the suction on this is a beast for such a small lightweight machine. If your looking at it and thinking about it don’t delay buy one today!

This is great for just topping up and getting into the smaller areas, or doing the door mats for example!
I also love the different attachments. I use them dusting the window sills, door frames, skirting boards, the stairs are now a breeze, the squeeze beside the sofa and the wall, etc.
It just makes life so much easier with 3 young children and when also working full time!
My 2 year old is at the perfect height and now loves to go round and hoover the living room. It’s handy to remove all attachments and you can then use it on worktops and tables to removes crumbs. All in all, another amazing item from shark!

I have an electric stairlift in my home and it does a good job of vacuuming under the lift rail. The battery lasts as long as needed to do that. Great for furniture cushions. Easy to hide behind furniture for ease of use.

The shape of this is great; I tried a few others in a shop and the weight of them didn’t suit the design, whereas this is quite ergonomic and lightweight. The suction is the best I’ve seen in a handheld device, compared to other ones that a bit cheaper. So in my opinion, it’s worth the money for the ease of use and suction power. I did wonder if the charge time was a lot, but then compared it to others and they came out with 4+ hrs, so this Shark’s charge time of 2.5hrs is actually short! I love it for the convenience of not having to get my big vacuum out for small jobs. I’d recommend this to anyone!
Great for cleaning the car and clearing up crumbs around the kitchen. I use it all the time and am very happy with it. Good power too. My only slight issue has been that I have accidentally released the the button that empties the rubbish you have collected. It is quite easy to do. But in the plus side it hoovers it up pretty quick again :0)
It’s perfect for the quick clean ups that occur when kids are eating!
Although the battery life is 8 mins it hasn’t run out on me yet.

I have been seriously impressed, but also quite disappointed by this Shark vacuum.
Firstly the good points. Minimal assembly is needed out of the box, and it comes with a stand which holds all the cleaning tools when not in use. This is a great feature because it means you are less likely to misplace them if you’re putting the unit away in a rush. The Shark is super light and its small size means reaching smaller spots is nice and easy, too. The waste container is easy to empty, and the manufacturer provided sticker shows you how, so you don’t even need to glance at the manual before getting going. Suction has been very impressive, beating the 12v cigarette lighter car vacuum I’ve been using by a long stretch. It picks up all small and medium-sized pieces of dirt/rubbish on first pass through, and has a wide enough nozzle so it doesn’t get blocked too often.
The downside unfortunately is the battery. 10 minutes simply isn’t long enough, especially when the claimed charging time is 2.5 hours! I have managed to clean the car without it going flat, however if you plan to use it intensively in the house, the two battery option may be a better option.
Overall I have really enjoyed using this vacuum. It provides great suction, feels robust and has a practical as well as functional charging dock. It’s just a shame about the battery.
