Very happy with the product. It’s lightweight, suction is good and easy to use. I wouldn’t pay the premium for Dyson. The double battery would last ~15mins which gives plenty of time for small jobs, including car.

Been after one of these for a while and when it was on offer I treated myself. I opted to pay im for it in instalments offered by Amazon. After reading some negative reviews I wasn’t expecting a lot from this but it’s been great so far. Lightweight and good suction. It’s handy for the stairs and I use it daily for the daily clean only the Guinea pig cage. It’s easy to use and I haven’t hAd to use the other battery yet as I’ve never ran out of power.

Have a Shark upright cleaner so decided on getting the same brand as a handheld model.
Pleased so far with the performance and the additional battery is a great concept.

This is an outstanding handheld vacuum. Ignore any negative reviews who say they weren’t impressed because they couldn’t do the whole house with it. It’s made for light duties like crumbs and light car cleaning not hoovering the entire house with. It looks great & it works great. Just remember to clean the filters and don’t suck up wet dirt because it’s not a wet vac.

Light and easy to use and to store. Picks up in the corners where a larger machine does not.
A bit expensive and I wish the battery lasted longer – glad I bought the two battery version.

hought it was rather expensive but, as it comes with a 2 year guarantee and 2 batteries , with super performance ,is so light and handy for stairs and car, I have to say it is EXCELLENT VALUE. I should get years of use. 10 out of 10

I got this for my daughter from her Amazon wish list. She lives in a large flat with polished wood floors.
She has a robot vacuum which is great but doesn’t clean the corners too well. so with this one she can just wiz around & do those in a few minuets. its also very useful for her car that is parked up several steps on the car park. Much better than having to run an extension lead or finding time and spending money on valeting.

Excellent vacuum, light weight & powefull. The battery is more than sufficient. It made a descent job of everything I threw at it including my car.
    Well worth the money.

When it first arrived I thought it blew more around than it picked up & felt a bit disappointed especially for the price, but once I added the nozzle it worked much better. It does blow out a lot of air & is quite noisy. Not sure I would feel full price is good value but for the sale price I’m really happy. Easy to use & to empty the dust bin. I’m not sure it’s a large enough nozzle to make a quick job of stairs but overall I’m pleased with it & it’s pretty effective.

So I have a corded Shark Hoover which I love so decided to order this as top up of those little bits that get dropped as the day goes on, well I am very impressed, love that it’s slim and the actual stand is not bulky. Suction and battery very good and have used it for the car. It got up all cat hair of the sofa and has easy empty tray. For me, it has been a good investment as I have had cheaper ones in the past that dont really last long.

I love this handle little hoover. It’s light weight and it gets into those little places your big hoover cant get to like radiator grooves and window blind slats. Great with the second battery when your doing the whole house and have it turned on a while.

This little vacuum packs a mighty punch and it looks good to boot.
The fusion of modern styling with technology combines well and produces a most effective hoover that is ideal for those situations where getting out the family sized cleaner is overkill.
Easy emptying and quick charging adds to the charm of this item.

I read a lot of reviews before buying this product and if like me this is for cleaning little messes then it does the job well. I use this to clean up after my new kitty who seems to carry a lot of litter out of the box and on my floor and round the flat!! Since receiving this product my floors are clean once again. Good product. I have not tried on stairs so I cannot comment but if you have hard floors I believe it would be sufficient for dust, pet hair and cat litter lol!!!

    Does the job

I bought it to clean stairs from my dog hair. Now it became my most favourite item in the house. It does exactly what it should. Very impressed with the suction. Definitely would recommend it, also make sure you get it with two batteries.

Fantastic suction from such a small device. I have found battery power plenty especially with the two battery model, sixteen minutes is plenty for a handheld. I bought it mainly for the car, and its stick like design is great for this use. With good suction it is being used for all manner of jobs, under furniture small areas. The only think if, like I did the other day you pick up a lot of dust this accumulates around the filter and will cause it to keep switching off, so keep the filter clean and clear.

I am delighted with my purchase. worth every penny.
As a self confessed ‘Monica’ I’m pleased to report this cordless shark lives up to its reputation. It’s light weight, it has powerful suction & has a decent amount of battery life. I nearly didn’t buy due to a few negative reviews but I’m glad I ignored them & went for it. I use it almost every day. It’s great for getting in hard to reach places like drawers & cupboards or quickly sucking up biscuit crumbs from my messy children & popping out to the car to clear up dried mud from a certain doggie!! (It certainly will not do the whole car in one battery but great for small amounts you want to clean up quickly)
    I can highly recommend.

Good little hoover, lightweight and handy size but not as powerful as people making out, look at picture of a rug after using a full battery on it still not properly cleaned and the particles could be removed with a light brush of the hand so why did t the hoover pick them up, could be stronger suction.

    Good but could be bette

I have a few dyson cordless in my house, up and downstairs and an old one in the garage but this is definitely a favourite. I use it on all those little time consuming jobs that would require me finding the correct tool and taking the wand off of my other cleaners.
Cleaning the dust out of the french door bottom rails- easy
Around the windows I can’t quite reach- easy.
    Behind the sofa – easy
Around the edge of the carpet- easy
    The skirting boards – easy
My house is actually cleaner because I can do all these jobs so quickly, just grabbing it and doing the job without any thought.
I would love another permanently upstairs but may take me a while to persuade the other half.
    Highly highly recommended

This cleaner is ideal for doing your stairs also I’ve got a parrot which is really messy, just take the cleaner off charger and it deals with the discarded seed and feathers no problem, saves me getting out the vacuum all the time and just put it on charger when finished. It’s got a real good suction and really light and well made .

I saw this on sale and thought it was worth a try to make cleaning the floor in my kitchen easier. And I am very pleased with it. It cleans very well and the suction is powerful enough for what I do with it. Its actually quite surprising just how much it pulls up. The stand for charging is also very easy to use and I like the simple light which indicates if it is fully charged.

On the negative side, the filter does tend to get very dusty and isn’t the easiest thing to get really clean. Though having said that a pack of 4 replacement filters is quite cheap so you can always have a spare while the previous one dries from having been washed.

Overall I would recommend this as a very handy device to have around for a quick clean.

  21. Anonymous says:

Everything about it is great except for one thing. The dust chamber is very small and when the filter gets clogged which is quite frequent. the Shark stops operating for more than 5 seconds. At first I thought it was broken.

I almost didn’t buy this after reading some of the reviews, but I’m so glad I did!!!! I’m the mother of two shockingly untidy small humans, who basically wonder round the house depositing endless small crumbs and god knows what (I’m past trying to work out what it always is!!!) So I wanted something that is straight to hand, compact to keep up out the way and that does the job. 100% this!! I feel some may be expecting slightly too much from a small handheld! It’s perfect for cleaning up the dining table,. Or just straight up hoovering the children, it comes with a lovely little stand, that both attachments fit on. The long attachment is handy but does loose suction a little mind you! The flat attachment is great for muddy paws on sofas, crisps in sofas, drunken chicken nugget parts hidden in sofa, just saying… it can do the job!!! So yes, I highly recommend this, its compact, pretty to look at, and socks like a dream. Its everything I apire to be!!! Enjoy!!

I bought mine a few years ago and love it. Got this as a pressie for a friend, got it while on offer as I’d definitely recommend the 2nd battery option it’s never actually run out in one session but I use it for doing my jeep interior so got the double one just in case I decide to do both cars in one go I haven’t!

Very good, holds a long charge and picks up most dirt although I find it slightly restricted re applications ie great for spills, window sills but limited for bigger jobs ie stairs.

  26. Health Review says:

     United Kingdom

I had my doubts about such a small device but I am very impressed indeed!

Haven’t measured the claimed run-time time with a stop-watch but I will say that I bought this in no small part because I wanted something small and portable to suck up feathers, leaves and such like in the back yard (which has outdoor carpet aka artificial grass) and I went out with two fully charged batteries expecting it to barely cover the whole space if at all but in fact the one battery sufficed! It could have lasted 8 minutes but like I said I wasn’t timing it. Let’s say that after a few minutes I felt comfortable that whatever the claim was it must be more or less accurate.

Some small things to consider (not worth docking points for):

    1. There’s only space on the cradle for one accessory – seems like an oversight or perhaps a slight case of form over function since as they say it’s “Designed to [be] displayed” (so they expect you to choose one attachment for display and for the other to be tossed into a cupboard?)
    2. The mouth seems like it could benefit from being a bit smaller as optimum suction is achieved when the opening is mostly covered – hasn’t really posed a problem during use so far though so perhaps I know nothing about these things
    3. The long nose attachment seems unnecessarily long and the bristles on the end a bit on the sparse side but perhaps there’s some engineering reason beyond my understanding for this

I should probably qualify that this is all relative to price and quite subjective – I’m (very) happy considering I timed it right and paid a little over 100 but at the current asking of 179 I might be more critical…

I’ve never had a decent cordless handheld but so far I love this one. Aswell as looking good and neatly compact with its charging stand which also holds the attachments, it does what it says on the tin. I don’t have stairs and I haven’t used it in the car yet but I do have kids, husband and a dog and this is great for those dustpan and brush moments. Its also proved an excellent spider catcher for all the family. Suction is good & the brush attachment is great for dusting nooks & crannies. I haven’t yet run out of battery in a single use but as I said I mainly use for those dustpan and brush moments & dusting crevices, certainly doesnt replace a full size hoover for the main job for which I also have a Shark. Have already recommended to family & friends.

As a bit of a clean freak I was getting fed up with having to wheel out my Henry every time I spotted a few crumbs on the floor (although he always seems happy to help), so when I started looking for handier alternatives I came across this Shark. So far, I have no complaints! It’s neat enough to stand at the end of the kitchen worktop without getting in the way (within easy grabbing distance!), it has great suction for such a small “wand” handheld, and emptying the dust bin is as easy as pushing a button. It comes with two very useful attachments and is also extremely useful for a quick vacuum of the car, especially if you live in a block of flats like me where it’s almost impossible to clean out your car using a conventional vacuum. I haven’t had to clean the dust bin yet, but it looks straight forward enough to remove and run under the tap. If you want something easier than getting the upright out, and quicker than a dustpan and brush, then get this! It does seem a bit expensive for what it is, but the convenience makes it worth the money. Plus, Amazon offers 5 interest-free payment installments! A no-brainer in my opinion, highly recommended!

A handy addition to the kitchen, and gives Henry a well earned rest...

I bought this to make life easier. I already have a corded shark I wanted this for quickly vacuuming the kitchen or bathroom floor on a more regular basis .. like daily because sometimes I don’t have the energy to get the large shark out. This has helped to keep those rooms looking good all the time. I have carpet elsewhere, which it will pick up noticeable bits on the carpet but the main use is on the hard floor and I am happy with it for what it want it for. It has made quick cleans possible and this is necessary if you’re a busy person but still like a tidy home

We’ve been looking for a lightweight handheld hoover for some time, as we get a lot of dead flies in the dining room due to the dome window that we have in there. The charged time is okay as we only use it in short bursts. I have also used it on the stairs and in the car and the pick up is okay, it won’t pick up anything very large but on the plus side it is very easy to empty.

We saw a review for this and having already owned a shark upright cordless vac, we thought we would purchase this. It has exceeded all our expectations.
It is so light and powerful and easy to store and with a good charge, we would not be with out it.
Far better and easier than a dustpan and brush. It also comes with two attachments to help you clean more areas.
It was also cheaper on Amazon than John Lewis, Curry’s, etc.

This was a replacement for the same product ordered the week before. I was really pleased with the initial vacuum, but, the handset started switching off after about 30 seconds a week in. Normally I would have returned for a refund, but it seemed to be a rare fault so I thought I would give them another attempt. Up to press it seems ok, but I’m withholding a verdict till a month or so in. Exemplary customer service from Amazon, as ever, but we will wait to see if Shark can deliver with a quality product.
The vacuum performed well, but only for a few days…let’s wait and see if the second one is better.

Just received my Shark handheld WV251UK model. First thing you are advised to do in the instruction leaflet that comes with it is charge the batteries fully. Now this is where I had what I thought was a problem, I had a battery in the charging tube and one in the vacuum itself, The light at the bottom was a steady blue which according to the leaflet meant the battery was charged and ready to go. I had the charger facing the wall as the light through the window made it difficult to see whether the blue charging light was steady, fading in or out or flashing. I was under the impression that the battery in the vacuum itself was not charging, as every time I took the spare battery out of the charger the blue light went out. A call to Shark customer services was needed I thought, when I mentioned the light going out I was told the connections on the charger and the vacuum itself were magnetic and just for holding the vacuum in place whilst it was on the charger. I was flummoxed because those connectors looked like charging points to me. Anyway to cut a long story short, a quick look on youtube and the problem was cleared up, when you put the handheld on to the charger it is indeed being charged, but the blue light at the bottom has nothing to do with it, the power button on the vacuum itself flashes when it is charging. The blue light on the bottom of the charger only applies to the battery that is being charged on the back tube of the charger, this only starts charging when the battery in the hand held has fully charged. No mention of this in the leaflet that came with it of course! Anyway it is to early to tell if this vacuum will be any good, as I have just gone over a window blind and then a few stairs to try it out. The suction is nothing to write home about but if it does the stairs (the reason we bought it) without straining anything as it is lightweight, it will have done what we bought it for. If you need to know anything about this vacuum, go onto youtube, don’t bother going to Shark customer services because they haven’t got a clue either!

For its small size this really does pick up stuff. Dust, hairs, wood shavings and metal swarf, are all easily sucked up. Easy to empty so the small hopper isnt a problem.

The 8 minute run time on one battery is enough for most jobs. It isnt meant for cleaning the whole stairs!

I went for the two battery version which leave one in reserve for bigger jobs. Attachments are good but a shame the stand doesnt have space for the wider brush. For this reason plus the price of the second battery, it loses a star for me

Bought this to replace our dyson hand held machine. The dyson was heavy in comparison although we were quite happy with the function of the dyson. The Shark has excellent suction and can get into small areas as it is so slim. We bought the two batteries model and I can go round all the skirting boards of our three bedroom bungalow with ease. Only criticism is poor brush on the slim tool.

This was bought primarily as a car vacuum – at which it does well. It is very lightweight, compact and easy to take out to you car. Each battery will last for about 8 minutes as stated – this is enough to keep on top of a not badly neglected car interior. This vac excels at ad hoc dust and bits duty – any dust or bits you see, crumbs, dusty computer screens, dusty tables, you just pick it up and dust – no cables or plugs to connec

So to be honest I did get mind at a discount so that contributed a lot to overall satisfaction. The initial intent was for the car only but its so easy and quick to use I find myself getting it out for almost all spills that a hoover would normally handle. Only had it for a couple of week though so this is a ‘so far so good’ review.

dropped suction a star because it doesn’t seem to be lifting smaller metal things like tiny electrical screws which id have thought wouldn’t be a problem.

Looked long and hard with plenty of research before buying a handheld cordless vac. Finally opted for this one as we already have a Shark corded vac and the steam mop, which we’ve always been impressed with. Got to say this thing has great suction for it’s size. You’ll never get the suction of a corded vac with something battery operated so don’t really understand some reviews saying poor suction. We went for the twin battery option to give a little longer run time. It looks great too, so much better than some of its competitors, which are just down right ugly. I was tempted to buy direct from Shark but at time of writing this review it was 25 cheaper on Amazon! My only slight niggle is that the two attachments that come with it, only one can be stored on the base unit at a time and the vac itself can’t be stored on the base unit with one attached. Can’t understand why the design team didn’t include a facility to store both attachments… would have made sense to me. Anyways it’s not enough of an issue for me not to give 5 stars. Great piece of kit and would recommend to anyone who’s looking to save themselves the annoyance of dragging out the corded vac for doing the car or those little bits of mess around the home.

Brilliant little vacuum, we mostly use for hoovering crumbs off our sides and chairs or cleaning up after our baby so I can’t comment on battery life as it always goes back on charge straight after use. Suction is good. Great for hard surfaces. Not fantastic on carpet with any pile, so although it’s handy for picking up bits on a few steps, I wouldn’t want to do the whole set of carpeted stairs. Did most of the car on one battery, but glad that I went for the twin battery, as once you get it on carpet or upholstery (or the cat tree cushions) it seems to run down quickly.

This is the best I’ve ever used. So powerful and easy to use. Great battery life. I’ve tried lots of others on the market and this beats them hands down. Brilliant for using in the car saves taking out main vacuum and extension lead!! The model with the additional battery makes sense if you use it extensively but the battery does last for up to 16 minutes of continuous use. I’ve recommended this to many friends and when tradesmen have used it to clear up they are amazed at how well it performs. Don’t be fooled by the Dyson hype.

Love this handheld!!! My cat is always dragging cat litter through the house, this picks it up perfectly. Gets used several times a day. Great for quick jobs, wouldn’t be able to hoover whole house with it, battery lasts about 8 mins, which is long enough for the small jobs, but you do always have the spare battery fully charged and ready to go should you need it. I use my full sized shark for the big jobs. Very easy to empty, no mess.

This vac knocks my old one out of the park. It’s brilliant. So with this particular package you get a vac, a spare battery, two nozzles and the charging stand. Everything fits nicely into the stand so it takes up a fairly small space. The vac charges within a couple of hours and the joy of this one is because you have a spare battery it never runs out. To charge the battery you need to put it inside the vac and plug in the stand. A pulsing blue light shows the battery is charging. When this light goes dim and stops flashing the battery is charged. You will know it needs charging when the same blue light flashes while you are using the vac. The same light also warns you of a blockage. If it flashes twice then stops you need to unblock it. This hasn’t happened to me so far. We have used this so much. It’s brilliant for sucking up crumbs off the table cloth. I use it to vac the stairs every week and I’ve vacuumed the car out on a couple of occasions. The charge lasts ages. Certainly long enough to give the car a good clean and if you do run out you just pop in the other battery. I love the fact it has tools as the crevice tool is brilliant for car seats and sofas. I use the other nozzle when I do the stairs. The suction is brilliant and much better than my old Dyson. It also feels really nice in the hand. Not to heavy but robust and well made. It’s very easy to use. The on/ off button is on the top ( this lights up and is the charging light etc) and to empty the dust chamber you just slide up the other button and the vac opens up underneath. So you just hold it over your bin , slide the button….job done. Inside It has a metal filter to stop big bits going where they shouldn’t and a cloth washable filter. Both are easy to find and the cloth one just pulls out for washing. I can’t fault the design at all. I’ve tried quite a few handheld vacuums over the years and this far surpasses them all. I would recommend this to all my friends and family. It’s my best buy this year.

The best handheld vac I’ve had.

Great little hoover but does lose a bit of suction when filter blocks, but empty it which takes seconds and suction back, I bought it for my caravan and is perfect for that as it’s not bulky or heavy

It has a good powerful suction I use it on the furniture to pick up dog hairs which it does well so much quicker than getting the big hoover out for tha

This is my third attempt to get a powerful hand held battery vac. This is the best yet and very good value so I would recommend despite the rather unorthodox shape. My only critical comments being the emptying button so close to the on button meaning very easy to discharge unwittingly – also a wall mounting would be better for storage rather than just free standing

I always purchase Dyson before, however they are very heavy!! so I decided to go for a Shark this time. I looks at the reviews before I purchase this, which were very mixed and confusing. I took the gamble anyway and Brought the Shark Cordless. This hoover is very powerful and suctions is as good as a Dyson-(I had a V6)
The extra battery is great if you decide to clean your car!!

Very powerful for a handheld. Use mostly for vacuuming up small bits and pieces kids have dropped on the kitchen floor. Pretty good on stairs but not as good as using my Henry.

Perfect for quick clean ups and car seats which is exactly why I bought it. Not sure if it would be powerful enough for a full car clean but suction is good for cleaning out sofa, kitchen cabinets, quick playroom clean up

Love it, suction is really good, yes it blows a little air out of the side isn’t a problem, great for stairs, yep 100% my little helper.

Fantastic for the current lockdown situation – the kids spill things all the time, craft things like glitter or various food crumbs and clean up is a doddle with this. I love my large Shark vacuum, it leaves the carpets so clean but this is ideal for those quick clean ups – after making toast, a quick dust of the skirting or stairs.
I’ve yet to use the second battery but I’m glad it’s there just in case and as I had it on offer it was better value anyway.

Great suction, and is lightweight to handle, gets a bit of getting used to to angle to get the best suction, but very happy with the produc

I love this little vacuum cleaner. Perfect for my flat to whizz round, and it picks up an unbelievable amount of dust. Really pleased. The charge doesn’t last long, so only suitable for quick jobs but the dual battery model is good for getting around that.

Very happy with this and actually using it for removing dust on the less sensitive/delicate surfaces. Great for the stairs/ca

I use this everyday, in the home and cars. The suction power is fantastic, we have 4 cats and a dog so always hair somewhere! It’s lightweight and the two batteries mean it’s always ready to use.

This review was written after having this for one month.

The vacuum is a much better device than the one we had before, it comes with two batteries which charge independently with one in the stand and one in the vacuum itself, so you should always have power.

We just use it for stairs and small messes which it handles well with one battery being able to do all of the stairs and more.
The vacuum itself is noisy so it sounds like it should have a lot of suction but it’s not a good as I had hoped, although adequate or what we use it for.

The waste compartment is small but as long as you empty it after every use it isn’t a problem. Emptying is very easy, just hold over the bin and press the button.

Bought this to replace a Black & Decker Pivot and was initially surprised by how noisy it was. But you soon get used to it and in every other way it’s a vast improvement and is well designed and built. It’s surprisingly powerful, quick to charge, light and comfortable to hold and easy to get into awkward spaces like the car. It’s compact size isn’t a drawback and you soon get used to flipping the dust collector into the bin after each use. Unexpected benefits include using it as a spider catcher and as ‘bellows’ to blow air into the log burner using air from its exhaust. The tools are handy although I don’t use them that much but I’m not sure you need a second battery – you get about 10 minutes use out of it which is more than enough for small jobs. Anything more and I get the full size cordless vac out anyway. Thoroughly recommended.

Have had the Shark handheld vacuum cleaner for about a month now, including over Christmas. We’ve found it so useful in the house and for cleaning our camper van too. I found it so much easier to clean the stairs than lugging the large one up and down. Also great for grabbing cobwebs, crumbs and general fluff.

I have had this product over a year now and it is still fantastic. It is perfect for everyday use picking up crumbs and pieces on the floor, great on the stairs and really good for giving the car a quick once over. Really happy with it.

This gets referred to as ‘Baby Shark’ in my house and has proved to be far more useful than expected and is lightweight but very powerful for its size.
It’s great for crumbs, cobwebs and brilliant for dusting skirting boards or picking up random clumps of pet hair.
It’s ok for general dusting (but no substitute for an actual duster of course).
My only suggestion for improvement would be a way to store the two attachments with the vacuum itself.
The debris container is small (only really an issue with pet hair), but it is so quick & easy to empty that it isn’t a problem.
I wish I’d bought one ages ago.

I love this. So handy for quick cleaning if I cannot be bothered to pull my big corded shark out. I mainly use this to clean stray litter from litter box, cleaning the stairs, car and sofa. It’s lightweight. Battery definitely lasts longer than 8 minutes but handy to have other battery. I have been rotating them so both getting used. Definitely a good purchase in my eyes!

This is really handy for worktops, shelves, furniture, awkward areas and a must for the car. A bit noisy (don’t start it with your Gran dozing in a chair!) but then it’s a real worker!

Easy to use, and does a great job.

The suction is excellent for a hand-held device, it’s comfortable in the hand. Also easy to empty.

The battery life may be a little on the short side, but that’s alleviated by the second battery (and is actually fine for the kind of thing we use it for – work-surfaces, small spills, sofa crumbs, etc).

The only complaint (and it’s a stretch to call it that) is lack of tool storage. It comes with two tools, but the stand only has space for one – which results in the other one being left lying around. And as we all know, vacuum cleaner attachments that aren’t carefully stored will escape to freedom as soon as nobody is looking. This is the kind of oversight that I don’t expect from Shark. (I expect it from others, but not Shark)

I have no reservation in recommending this product.

(I can’t rate it for “stairs”, since we don’t have any)

So handy for hoovering car, stairs, mattresses or for a quick tidy around the house, in drawers etc or when baking etc to get up the flour. So light. The second battery is very handy as the battery lasts about 15 minutes. Best Buy!
