The accessory kit and flashcards are a good way to help you learn to control it, but I can’t say I’m too happy about all those small parts. The video shows the first few seconds of play, which is why my daughter keeps getting it stuck in the corners.
Quick tip. The plastic ball is the outer shell. Before you first use it, you need to take it out (it’s rubbery and small, but don’t worry, it’s very hard-wearing), plug it and leave it to charge for a couple of hours, and then put it back in the shell, pair, and play.

We and the children (age 7 and 10) have had lots of fun with these! They work well with the Amazon Fire 7 tablets, although disappointingly not in the kids’ FreeTime accounts because location services are required for the sphero to function – and there is no way to enable location services for children’s accounts. We had to set up separate adult accounts for our children, and as these still allow us a decent amount of parental control, this solution is working OK. However, it’s worth knowing this ahead of time if you’re planning to buy a sphero for a child, as it won’t function within the FreeTime or other Amazon children’s accounts.

My son loves this ball. There are 2 apps for it one that allows simple remote controls and some games and another that lets you write programs using a block editor. It works with his kindle fire which is great too.

Hat sofort funktioniert und unsere Teenager haben damit viel Spa. Wre schn, wenn der Ball einen Ein- und Ausschalter htte. Vielleicht it der ja auch automatisch. Das kann ich nicht genau sagen. Deswegen einen Stern weniger.
Aber das kleine Ding ist eine Wucht und wir haben alle zusammen gesessen, gespielt, geguckt und gegenseitig Ratschlge gegeben.

Leider tat das Samsung J3 meines Sohnes das nicht – Entuschung am Weihnachtsabend. Da in der Beschreibung nur stand das es z.B. mit Android funktioniert, war ich davon ausgegangen, dass es auch auf dem J3 luft – tut es aber nicht. Handy und Sphero Mini verbinden sich nicht.
Mit meinem J5 luft er – will das aber nicht stndig meinem Sohn berlassen!
Fazit: lustiger Zeitvertreib, sehr schnell der kleine Mini, aber vorher UNBEDINGT erkundigen ob das eigene Handy dafr geeignet ist !!!
3 Punkte fr den Spass, htten bei mehr werden knnen, wenn ee auf allen unseren Handys lufen wrde.
Nachtrag – der Sphero luft mit dem Amazon Fire Tablet – somit Weihnachten gerettet. Da der kleine Ball bei uns somit fr viel Spass sorgt und mein Sohn super begeistert ist habe ich verdient noch ein Sternchen draufgepackt.
Auch die App-Spiele finden bei meinem 12-jhrigen Anklang. Wir haben fr Freunde als Geschenke noch Spheros nachbestellt und freuen uns schon auf Wettrennen durch die Hindernisse.

Aprs avoir t sduite par son grand frre, le Sphero SPRK+, j’ai achet ce petit robot pour mes enfants. Malgr sa petite taille, il est aussi polyvalent que le grand. La porte du bluetooth est moindre (10m), mais c’est bien suffisant pour la maison. Mes enfants ont pass des heures s’inventer des trajets et des dfis dans la maison. Un super petit robot qui nous en donne pour notre argent.

Once up and running however, the software’s great, and my son’s already had lots of fun using this for school presentations about coding, games with his friends, and building elaborate obstacle courses around his room.

Bought it during prime sale so got it half pff. Wouldn’t have paid full price for it. Bought for the cat and other than needing to recalibrate any time if hits something a little hard, its a good toy

A fun little toy for my puppy. She loves chasing it around the kitchen!! Only downside is that she’s faster than it so she catches it, picks it up in her mouth and runs off with it to her bed…game over until I retrieve it, again!!

When your cats are your kids
Bought this as a fun toy for me and my two cats to play with. They were a little puzzled by it at first, but it is certainly better for their hunting skills than using a lazer pointer.

un gioco veramente molto interessante ed intelligente soprattutto se usata la modalit di gioco programmazione.
This thing is very tiny, and seems like it would be easy to break (shell just pops off). Its definitely cool, and does what it say it should, but the motion can be clunky at times, and there have been a few times where the ball just starts spinning around in one spot (even after letting go of the controls). Have never had one before so I’m not sure if this is normal or not.
Ok I really bought this as a cat toy so I could sit my lazy.. on the sofa but still appease the cat’s constant need for attention. He LOVES it. The only thing I’d change is the battery life.. it only lasts for about 45 minutes and takes about as long to charge again. It’s the size of a ping-pong ball though. Came with a little bag of cones, etc. so you can set up a little course for it… If you don’t have a cat to play with. I’d give it 5 stars if it had longer battery life and one more shell in the box. Extra shells are too expensive on their own.

The best Sphero I have ever owned!
After loving the Sphero Darkside, I decided to add a Sphero Mini to my birthday list. When I opened, and had quite a bit of time playing with it, I thought it was definitely a good product.
The box itself was slightly shorter than I had thought, but the plastic box that contained the Sphero Mini was quite cute, and fit perfectly. You may find that the cable provided is quite short, and it is hard to charge the robot without straining on it.
The robot itself is extraordinarily small and compact. It makes it more portable this way, meaning you don’t have to carry it, you just simply put it in your pocket.
Charging is unusual, and rather fiddly, when it comes to the Sphero Mini. From my experience of other Spheros, I was quite used to just plugging it in, or even just plopping it into an inductive charger cradle. To charge Sphero Mini, you have to open the shell and plug it into the actual robot. It is a lot quicker at charging, and to charge for an hour, with a play time of forty-five minutes, is defintely more efficient than an hour of play time only to then charge it for three hours.
The shell is not waterproof, but it’s more durable than expected, and the shell splits open only when it falls off a table at a considerable height (like a dining room table). The colours of the shells are nice to look at, but when you have your Mini lighting up, the shell meddles with the colours (unless you get a white shell with your Mini), and ruins the light effect more than most spheros.
The speed is good for such a small robot, and turning is easier to control than with the Ollie and Darkside. The light on the Sphero Mini is clear and bright, and is also multicoloured , so you won’t get bored with changing the colours.
The Sphero Play app was definitely a good app to create. The games are basic, but really addictive. The multiple driving modes can either be really good, or really pointless. I am really sad to say this, but the Sphero Mini would be the same without Face Drive. I spent an hour trying to pull expressions, and only got winking, peekaboo, forward, and the sides, with the ocasional backwards. Could it be my device’s camera?
Sphero Edu has one main purpose: program with blocks to make your robot do stuff. Now, it looks like a walk in the park, and feels quite pointless. I usually use it for a bit of community browsing, and accurate driving. If you are teaching coding concepts, this is the app for you (if you have a Sphero, of course!). If you are using it for some other programming reason, I would recommend getting the javascript SDK for your laptop, as you can use it to develop your own app, as well as learn some proper programming.
This might be quite unknown to a lot of people, but a quite big range of Sphero products are compatible with the Sphero Force Band. I was unsure about the Mini being compatible, yet it works without any extra tinkering. I thought it should be mentioned for people who may be wanting a none screen Sphero control system.
All in all, a good product. I hope everyone enjoys this product too!

Se lo regal a mi sobrina para su cumpleaos nmero 9 y aunque le gust, no lo ha podido usar mucho porque o se le acaba muy rpido la batera o tiene problemas de seal con su Tablet. An si creo que es un excelente medio para que los nios empiecen a jugar con robots.

Bought for my 7 year old but it’s a toss up who enjoys playing on it more. Really easy to set up and use. Durable and battery lasts well. You need to make sure you calibrate with the blue dot if you want to control it properly. Games on it are fun. Played every day we have had it so far.

Bought for my granddaughter and she loved it instantly. Easy to use, app has some great teaching tools. After a while it got put to the side and isn’t used a lot right now. Not sure if it was the mini-sphero or her personal interests that causes it to sit on the shelf.

Der Ball ist etwa so gro, wie ein Golfball. Der Antrieb steckt in einer leicht zu ffnenden Kunststoffkugel die aus zwei Hlften besteht. Zum laden muss man diese Kugel ffnen.
Nachdem man die SteuerungsApp auf sein Handy oder Tablet geladen hat, lsst sich die Kugel leicht mit dem Handy koppeln.
Jetzt nur noch den Ausgangspunkt justieren und schon kann man mit dem Ball durchs Zimmer fahren.
Die Katzen hatten ein riesiges Fragezeichen bern Kopf und meiner Tochter macht es viel Spa.
Man kann aber auch mit dem Ball Spiele in der App steuern. Das braucht einige bung, Macht aber auch viel Spa.
Mit einer anderen App kann man den Ball noch programmieren, dann fhrt er einen bestimmten Kurs. Aber dazu kann ich nichts sagen.
I purchased a set of these for teaching programming in primary school.
They are a great little unit. You split open the case and plug in a micro-USB cable (provided) to charge them, which takes about an hour. I had no problem pairing 12 of these to 12 iPads, I did it one at a time to avoid student chaos.
They are not as accurate with directions as the larger Sphero devices. For example, programming them to follow a square won’t return them exactly to the starting point, but they are pretty close. Not as robust as their big brothers, the shell cover is thin, probably wouldn’t survive a drop and a replacement shell can only be purchased through the USA.
One GOTCHA was using the Sphero EDU app. The Spheros kept on doing a firmware update each time you connected the iPad app. Very frustrating, but Sphero tech support suggested updating each device using the Sphero Mini app, this fixed the problem.
Overall very satisfied with the devices for the price paid.

Einen Punkt muss ich jedoch dafr abziehen, dass man den Ball nicht ausschalten kann! Man findet darber zumindest nichts in der Beschreibung.
In der App kann man ihn zwar abschalten, bentigt dann aber erstmal wieder einen Stromanschluss um ihn wieder in Betrieb zu nehmen. Das ist umstndlich gelst.

Ideal zum Spielen auch fr Katzen bzw Hunde, da es sehr stabil ist. Man bedient es ber das Smartphone. Der Ball ist sehr klein, so das man ihn immer einstecken kann.
Beachtlich was man alles mit dem kleinen Ball anstellen kann. Aller mit an Board.
Nicht nur durch die Gegend fahren in unterschiedlichen Farben nein das ist auch noch Programmierbar mit einer eigenen App.
Echt vielseitig der kleine Roboterball von Sphero bin immer noch begeistert wie am ersten Tag.

Bought this for my daughters birthday, she loves it, highly recommended! If you don’t know what a Sphero mini is, it’s an app controlled robot ball, that can be programmed and all sorts.

Una volta scartato, si toglie l’involucro di plastica e si collega alla USB. Non ho controllato il tempo di carica. Deve essere scaricata l’APP SpheroMINI (Attenzione alla compatibilit con le versioni Androd, mi sembra oltre la 5).
Nell’App si deve prima di tutto calibrare lo sphero e successivamente ci sono opzioni per il cambio di colore, giochi e altro.
La manovrabilit buonissima anche se in un appartamento ci possono stare problemi con le fughe del pavimento (ogni tanto si incastrava). Quando sbatte in modo forte spesso dev’essere ricalibrato (sempre tramite app).
Il gatto si divertito molto!

Es perfecto para tener una primera toma de contacto con la programacin de robots. Tiene muchas apps. Desde usarse como interfaz de juego, manejarlo de distintas formas, juegos sociales y por supuesto programarlo con un sistema similar a Scratch.

A great toy for all ages. I bought this for my 8 year old grand daughter and I couldn’t leave it alone. My grand daughter loved it also. There’s 2 apps, the first giving a variety of control options along with games, the second an educational one that allows basic to advanced programming along with access to the forum. At around 50 quid, this is a great buy.

La sphero funciona bien, un poco escasa de funciones. La mayoria de las aplicaciones son para la sphero grande. En los suelos de madera resbala a maxima velocidad. No tiene protector de goma que pudiera mejorar el agarre.En general es un buen producto

he sphero has been great with my brother. With the educational app it allows for programming and normal steering, so this, aside from being fun, is a really educational little toy. It is also crazy fast!

Really neat little product, speedy and easy enough to use, and sturdy enough to be batted about by the cat and run into walls. The one downside is that it comes with absolutely no instructions, so just make sure you download the Sphero mini app to use it as it is not compatible with the regular Sphero app!
love this. cant seem to work out how to turn it off. but then setting it up was a nightmare cos everything written in the box is supper small. u need to download the app to get access to a readable user manual. once working had great fun with it. still wish i knew how to turn it off instead of having to let the battery drain all the time.

Mini sphero
Bought at an amazon daily deal price, for my 12 year olds stocking. He loves it. As did his cousins Christmas Day. A really cool little toy.
Shame amazon don’t sell the accessories though.
He now wants the Sphero bb9 for his birthday……
Clever and fun toy. Bought during an Amazon deal and good value. The app works well when controlling the Sphero but the games only use the ball as a controller so not quite as good as you may think. Seem very hardy. Ours have been dropped on to a slate floor a number of times and have suffered no damage.

No idea why I need this in my life, but glad I do. You’d think the novelty would wear off quickly, but so far so good. The cats love it too.
Loses half a star because there’s no on/off button inside so you need to charge it every time you use it, and another half a star because the plastic cover is too slippery for hard floors and it keeps getting itself into a death spin when I drive it into walls. Hope they start selling rubberised shells like they do for the bigger ones.

Really fantastic. A good price for a very well rounded piece of equipment and the apps, especially the EDU app are impressive.

Partiamo dal presupposto che posseggo anche Sphero 2.0, la taglia pi grande 🙂
Le funzionalit sono molto simili a quelle del fratello maggiore, un oggetto divertente, comandabile con il telefono tramite connessione Bluetooth, pu cambiare colore dei led, interagire con i giochi etc…
Rispetto a Spehro 2, a parte le dimensioni ridotte, stata introdotta solo una feature che per presuppongo funzioni grazie alla app dedicata, ovvero il movimento comandato dai movimenti della testa e dalle espressioni del volt e l’accelerometro al suo interno lo pu trasformare in controller per giochi (solo quelli rilasciati per Sphero ovviamente). Potete anche programmarlo usando java e le sue app dedicate.
Non ha ricarica wireless e non impermeabile, cose che il fratello maggiore ha. Ha invece la possibilit di cambiare guscio e quindi colore se volete variare un po’.
Quindi…alla resa dei conti per i possessori della versione precedente, non che sia questa gran novit… forse pi carino dato che pi piccolo ma..niente pi. Una cosa in pi che magari lo rende pi appetibile il prezzo, rispetto al fratellone decisamente pi abbordabile.
Divertido. Fcil de manejar. Mi hijo tiene varias cosas de estas y le gust mucho. El vdeo que viene al final de las fotos que presenta el vendedor ayuda a entender qu es. Yo compr verde y es muy chulo. Para un nio desde luego lo recomiendo. Para manejarlo necesitas bajar una app. Viene con los bolos de la foto y vdeo. Tambin trae cargador pero solo el cable. Tuve que acoplarle el enchufe de un viejo iPhone. La caja sirve para apoyar el mvil y usar la app y obviamente para guardarlo en condiciones.

Acqureur du Sphero Mini, a fait plusieurs annes que j’attendais de me procurer un produit Sphero. Mais les prix pratiqus ne me le permettaient pas. Le Sphero Mini et son prix plutt raisonnable m’ont convaincu.
La qualit est au rendez-vous. On a l’impression d’avoir un vritable Sphero dans une petite capsule de la taille d’une balle de ping pong. La technologie est sympa et tout se fait au niveau du smartphone et de l’application Sphero Mini !
Je n’ai pas encore essay les outils de dveloppement en JavaScript mais cela promet un bel usage dans le monde ducatif. Du moins, je le souhaite !
Pleinement satisfait donc ! Un beau cadeau pour les ftes de fin d’annes !
