I’ve been using Steam Generators for years and usually have to replace every 18-24 months due to heavy usage and really hard water in my area.
Thought I’d pay a little more for this one and having had it a few months now, I am really impressed.
The easy glide and constant steam is great and it’s proving to be one of the best steam generators I’ve had over the years.
Would defo recommend
After 9 years, having moved it around the country and using in and out of hard water areas, it’s held up well. Occasionally, it did leak brown water, but I must admit that it was due to my own lack to removing the limescale catcher regularly and using 50/50 tap and iron water. I’m sure had I done, it would have lasted longer. Now I’m stuck with having to purchase a new steam generator and there’s too much choice and good ones are sooo expensive. When I originally bought this one, I got it on sale for 50. Definitely, was a steal. Would highly recommend buying as it will last a long time and probably longer than mine if used properly.
This is the third iron I have had in this model and it’s as good as the first one, plenty of steam.

I owned a Tefal steam generator for years and when it finally failed I bought this latest model. I am delighted with it and it’s simplicity of use. The only possible weakness I can see is the water tank. the old one was fixed and the new one is removable for ease of filling. I can foresee problems with the seals with the constant removal and refitting. Only time will tell
Ive had about 4 of these irons now and although they dont last much more than 4 years( i live in a very hard water area) I still go back to it because i like it better than any other ive tried.

This model seems as good as its predecessor. The cord doesn’t automatically wind in which is a shame as that was a useful feature. Tucking the power cord in, isn’t as effective. The calc collector etc are the same and the amount of water held in the tank is the same. I only use deionised water in mine as it prevents the sludge that can occur with steam irons. So far, so good. I hoping this one lasts the same length of time as my previous iron and i’ll be very happy!
Great iron. After 7 months of using it (on average once per week I would say), it’s working fine and makes ironing an easy chore. Good idea to allow 3 settings of heating.
Good product worked well but only for 3 months had to return it for repair.
Excellent quality and robust steam Iron an upgrade in my last model which I had for 7 years before it started to play up.
The amount of steam is excellent, the removable refill pot for water is so much more convenient. The steam is more controllable, allowing for faster ironing and less damage to clothes.

Everything is easyier it powers through creases
I would say though you need a longer ironing board that can take steam generator irons
And the ironing unit is heavy
But the actual iron isn’t

Keep it wiped after use and make sure when the button tells you to anti scale you do and you won’t have any issues x
I love this steam iron because it does not need to be very hot yet the steam leaves crushed items looking smooth like new .
This is the 2nd Tefal steam station I have bought. Love the fact that they iron efficiently and I don’t have to keep refilling with water. Only negative point of this new iron compared to my old one is that the cord doesn’t retract automatically…. just takes a little longer to store the flex.

I bought this as a present and my daughter in law loves it.
I was replacing my old Tefal iron and the new one does not dissappoint. Smooth, easy to iron with, very hot steam and easy to fill steam reservoir.
Whilst heavy transferring the whole unit in/out of storage cupboard, it’s light to use and all users are really happy with effectiveness.
Best iron so far. I tried a few. Its heavy but ironing is done really quickly and does a great job.
Best bit is that you can turn the iron on/off on the iron station itself, so no bending down to the socket. (old person!)
Performs well, is very quiet but I would prefer it if you could refill the water tank at the station rather than having to take the tank to the sink.

Be self cleaning, (cleaned when it felt like it, not when needed it). There customer service were terrible, just told me to stand over sink with it on continual steam. Amazon gave me a refund and I bought this one. A joy to iron again, it does everything it’s supposed too. I am now gliding through my ironing. If you are looking for a steam generator iron that works like it is supposed to this is the one. AMAZING!!

I like this style of iron. My husband thinks it’s heavy but he only irons his shirts. Doesn’t get rid of all wrinkles

Like the ease of use, the iron itself is light and instructions are clear although in pictorial format, may be helpful to include written instructions.

his was bought following the demise of our old model after 15 yrs. this one has several improvements. including technology which removes the need for changing settings during ironing, calcium spoon for removing debris from the boiler. removable filler tank. It was readily excepted by my wife as being a great improvement on old version..
hopefully it will last as long as the old one.

Anti calf works well but spits brown occasionally (only seems to happen when the Mrs is using it)

First of all I need to say that I have owned for 7.5 years one steam generator produced by Siemens that still goes strong, but I wanted an upgrade because it needed cleaning too often lately. I was looking to buy the same Siemens one or any other steam generator of same make, however they look unavailable in the UK or probably discontinued. So I started looking at different brands and reached to this Tefal iron which I received a day ago.
Good points:
– looks nice and does the job
– long enough plug and steam wires
– the steam is coming clean and constant
– it is ready hot quickly
– not too bulky
– the water tank comes out for filling
– can be kept upright on the ironing board (I need to get used to this)
– does the job!
Now the “disappointing my expectations” or “comparing with my old one” points:
– it is very heavy, twice as heavy as the old Siemens;
– when I press the button for the steam to be released the click sound is loud and “plastic-ky” not rubbery soft;
– it does not have a separate pad to be kept on the ironing board while hot and in use (however it can be left upright if the station is further). I prefer the station not on the ironing board to avoid accidents with the kids (see the picture with the IKEA Kallax shelf), therefore I always keep id down. Since the cord is long enough it is ok I guess, but still I would preferred a separate pad for the ironing board.
Overall looks like a good product. Less one star mainly because of its weight in hand while in use.
If it lasts for as long as my old one which was in the same price range, I will be very happy!

Didn’t really want to spend this much as my previous Bosch iron cost around 180. But then you get what you pay for and that is certainly the case with this iron. Absolutely fantastic. Glad I paid that bit more.
The wife likes this for the ease of ironing. She likes the steam iron.
This iron replaced a much older (16 years!) Tefal steam generator iron which had started to leak water. This replacement is so much easier to use – lighter in weight, quicker to heat up and very quick to iron with. Extremely happy with this iron and do not hesitate to recommend it.

Bought to replace my previous Tefal steam generator that was good for five years but had heating failure
This is my third generator, I only seem to go for tefal, it’s light to iron with but I haven’t as yet worked out the controls but I haven’t burnt anything yet so that’s a plus. It seems ok and quite, my other one was so noisy so that’s a bonus. Came very quickly.
Fabulous iron so easy to use much better than my last Tefal iron . Would recommend it as it cuts my ironing time in half .
Been using this for a couple of months now. Extremely happy with it. This is my third Tefal in 15 years. You can pull out the thing to fill it up with water. Excellent steam flow and easy to use.
Only rated it 4 overall because after short period of time it spits out brown stuff. I’ve always put filtered water in it. Oh well. We live in a hard water County
There is an improvement on my last steam generator, the cords wrap away conveniently. I am very pleased with it but haven’t tried the calc cleaner yet. I had my last one between 14/15 years.

This must be the fifth iron of this type I’ve had over the last 30 years. This one is the best. Ironing is so easy, even linen and very creased cotton iron really well and it is great for delicate fabrics. My other irons needed programming but this one is so easy to use. Not a bit complicated, just a couple of buttons to press and success every time. And, it turns itself off if left unattended, which is a great bonus. The water container is easy to remove and refill and the iron is much lighter than my other models. Best purchase I’ve made in a long time. Love it!!
The steam iron is very powerful which gives good results; the water tank has good capacity. It is noisy compared to a standard iron. I use it with a recommended Brabantia mesh/net ironing board which is wet underneath by the time I have finished so water can drip on the floor – not a big deal but worth knowing.

I really miss the retractable cord of my previous iron – I have no clue why they would have removed that feature, it is less tidy and convenient.
It does a great job and the extra large tank means I can do a whole weeks ironing without having to constantly refill with water.
The cord and plug tuck neatly out of the way when not in use so they do not get in the way when stored.
Third Iron of this type that we have bought. They get better each time.

Does all that you need. large tank. iron not too heavy but right weight to get a good finish. Removable tank easy to fill. Would highly recommend.
Heats quickly very good iron only down side is how quickly it builds up lime scale so suggest cleaning tank out every 5/6 heavy uses
This iron is lovely. It certainly cuts my ironing time down. I have had this type of iron for several years but this is the best one yet. I did have to buy a new ironing board as mine was really not wide enough. Only problem (but not really a problem) is that it is a bit heavier than my previous iron.

Hate ironing but LOVE this iron, ironing now takes half the time and I love the fact that this iron doesn’t have a water cartridge that you have to buy when it indecates, you just decal this iron by opening chamber on the side and pull out rinse off and replace, so simple
