Excellent iro
Bought this after my old steam iron didn’t take kindly to being descaled. This is excellent and very easy to use – love the continuous steam function in particular. The tank is easy to fill and the iron really cuts down the amount of time you need to spend ironing. Very satisfied.

Once converted you will never go back to ‘normal’ ironing.. saves so much time.. a star buy.. why didn’t I convert to one of these earlier.. we’ll made & easy to use.. would highly recommend !

A pleasure to use! Having previously only ever used Tefal irons, I decided to purchase a highly rated Philips instead – complete disaster, returned after one ironing session and then bought this one – absolutely delighted with it. Much quieter and lighter than my old Tefal, but still up to the job!

Bought this to replace a Tefal steam generator that had broken after a lot of great service.
As my previous Tefal iron gave years of service, I have gone for the same make. Its easy to use and glides over clothes and bedding so easily. I hope it’s as reliable as my previous iron. Quite expensive, but excellent quality. I would highly recommend.

This is the first generator iron I have owned. My mother encouraged me to buy it having changed to this type of iron herself a few years ago. The controls are simple so nothing to worry about there. It flies through the ironing because it irons a few layers at a time, so for example when ironing bed sheets, it’s possible to fold and iron 4 or more layers at once. Same with any other item of clothing. The iron itself is lighter than a normal steam iron because it doesn’t have a water compartment. The water is held in a tank in the base unit. It can be used as a dry iron or at the flick of a switch it provides high powered steam. Great for getting out wrinkles on clothing etc. Like the automatic shut off if it is left unused. Prevents accidents and wasted electricity. The only down side for me is where and how to store it. It is a sizeable piece of kit. Having said that, I would not return to a normal steam iron. I can live with the storage issue.

Nothing to dislike about this iron, it is the best one I have ever had. Controls are easy to understand and use. Steam output is really good.
This item was a replacement for a similar product I bought 8 years ago. It is what I expected and works fine.
My only bad comment is that the hose is shorter than my previous iron and this can cause problems when ironing trousers or other items which are over the end of the ironing board. I have to move the base so it does not get pulled on to the floor by mistake.

Good amount of steam generatred
I’ve used two different makes [Bosch and Phillips] previous to this one and the Tefal performs best. This could however, be related to the fact that products are improved over time. I recognise that if you want performance with steam generators, you have to pay more, the cheaper end of the market is definitely not as effective.
An excellent iro
For many years I have used a Polti steam cleaner with iron attachment. This is so much better, easy to use and far less bulky. I’ve been very impressed with all aspects of this iron – delighted with the purchase.

I had previously had a similar Tefal steam generator iron and worked for many years. After replacing it with this one, it has been just a good. Easy to iron and quick!

Used for ordinary laundry for 2 adults. The generator should definitely be fitted with small rubber, or similar material , feet. It sits on my work surface and slides about. When I am ironing at the far end of my ironing board, eg. when ironing trouser tops or shirt shoulders, the electric cable is fully extended and I have to remember NOT to tug the cable again or the generator will slide off the work surface on to the floor. This is dangerous.
Also, the smell which is supposed to disappear after some use, is still with me !!! Not pleasant.
Overall I am disappointed. I had a Tefal steam generator for some years before this model and loved it. I think I have paid too much for this one.

This is my third Tefal steam generator over the years. This one was a great price and is slightly different from my last model but is much quieter. Removable tank makes for easy filling. Easy to use and the best bit for me, absent minded as I am, is the automatic shut off if you leave on by mistake. No more running back to check if you’ve left it on!
The instalment payment option was great too.

I love this iron, it is quiet so I can listen to audiobooks when ironing and it is highly efficient. I had a similar iron previously but it was very noisy and squirted our brown water occasionally which resulted in having to re wash the items. No regrets having bought this item

I had to buy this fast as old iron died on me … excellent iron – easy to use – useful flex return button – temperature control on the main unit etc so hand held is as light as possible … Massive cost difference wrt ordinary steam irons but so much better at the job – Must have an ironing board which is compatible (mesh not solid metal) as steam is so strong – you can get little water puddles on the floor under the ironing board …
This is a very smart piece of kit and I like the descaling feature which looks a lot less complex than on the last one which has just died due to scale build-up. The ironing finish on this is far less crisp than I am used to and the steam generated is less impressive. As with most things, the heat seems to be reduced which I guess is either energy efficiency or health and safety. Overall, slightly disappointed with performance.

Great product from Tefal
Great generater delivers constant steam at the touch of a button. It replaced a ten year old Tefal steam generator, I know it’s expensive but worth every penny tried cheaper ones and they don’t cut the mustard.
If you’re used to a regular iron buy this it’s exoens but worth it.
This is a great steam generator iron. I bought it to replace a steam generator that broke after a couple of years and I expected this to be a similar standard but it was much improved. I do a lot of ironing and this makes an easy job of everything from bedding to school uniforms. It’s smooth, fast and less noisy than my previous one.
On the downsides the base is very heavy to move but when ironing I keep the base on the floor. The iron itself is light and easy to move it glides over the clothes.
You need to remember to change the heat settings each time you use it. I tend to always iron at the most hot setting however next time I use it the iron has defaulted to the coolest. Not too much of a problem as yiunsoon get used to resetting when you switch it on.
If you’re used to buying a regular iron and wondering about steam generators do buy this it will make a chore easier, faster and less tiring to do.

I hate ironing
I do holiday cottage ironing (bed linen), I hate ironing, but this iron has made the job, much easier.
No one looks forward to ironing – do they? There is nothing worse than making the effort only to find that despite repeatedly pushing and pulling the iron over a cotton surface there are still visible wrinkles. But not with this baby!! A “once-over” is all it takes for your clothes to be pristine. This is my second Tefal steam generating iron – the last one worked on for about 7-8years and although it didn’t break, I suspected it wasn’t at the top of its game. So, after a great deal of research, I chose another Tefal. Beware other brands – not all irons are equal. The soleplate of this iron is amazing – it truly does glide which reduces the effort you must make. With Amazon Prime, the iron arrived well packed promptly. Whether you have had a steam generator or not, once you unbox it, fill with water and plug it in you will be ironing straight away. It’s not complex at all. This is one item you will definitely not regret buying – in fact, you will be wondering why you didn’t buy one earlier! And no – I didn’t get paid to say this at all.

It’s perfect. Irons like a dream. Much more up-to-date design than our previous one (which has served us will for a number of years). This is lighter and more efficient.
Good Quality Product. This is our third Tefal Steam iron and like the previous two we are very happy with it. The only reason we have to get a new one is because the lime scale damages the steam generator, otherwise I think we would still be on our first. Very very good product.
I bought this iron on the strength of it’s reviews on Amazon and elsewhere. However, Amazon had this iron priced at around 1/3 of the price of anywhere else, I couldn’t work out why so took the plunge quickly before it changed.
It’s a fantastic iron, compared to my old one which ended up constantly spitting steam out and brown streaks coming out – I then emptied it to find it was absolutely full of brown sludge and build up from years of using the bottled water (I know, I know, it says you shouldn’t..) so with this in mind, I now use tap water and this iron performs brilliantly.
When you switch it on, you choose from one of the five fabrics you are ironing, wait for it to heat up (around 2 minutes) and the level of steam and the heat on the soleplate is perfect. The steam is powerful, and ironing out creases becomes a doddle. Couldn’t be simpler to use, and it hasn’t burnt any of the clothing and the plate remains pristine, despite ironing many different types of fabric.
The water tank is really big, and despite the amount of steam, it seems to use little water – you can remove the tank and fill up whilst in use, which is a bonus feature. It’s not too heavy to transport if you need to either, and the power lead and the steam cord are both quite long, allowing you to take the iron to the very end of the ironing board with ease.
It has an automatic off setting as well, so it will power down if it detects no use in 7 minutes – for me, this is a huge bonus as I do get paranoid halfway to work that I’ve left it on! I’ve been known to turn around and come home to check, only to find that of course I have switched it off, and then I’m late for work! No more! This will go off without a problem just in case you do leave it on.
The only downside is that it doesn’t remember your setting when you turn it off, so each time you turn it on, you have to select the fabric type again. It’s not a deal breaker, more of a niggle. It’s so simple to use, and makes ironing a breeze that you can forgive it. And as mentioned before, the pricing on Amazon was much much lower than anywhere else, so value for money is a massive consideration. Steam generators can make a huge difference, especially if you iron frequently.

I bought this steam generator iron after a lot of research checking reviews etc on various models. I had previously had a Philips model for quite a few years but in the end it kept spitting out the brown calcium build up even though I’d descaled it. I was drawn to this one because it looked easy to clean with the pull out descaler. So far I’ve cleaned it once and it was as easy as it looks. My only criticism is the sole plate, I don’t think it glides as easy as the Philips one I had but that doesn’t deter from it being a really good product.
My 18 yr old Phillips steam generator died and so pleased with my new tefal one. Love the speed with which it heats up and the removable water tank. Excellent at ironing and like that I can still control heat with different settings. New Phillips seem to all have one setting and material sensors to judge heat needed. More technology is more to go wrong. Love the sole plate and steam goes into clothes and not to much escaping and ruining my hair. FANTASTIC IRON.

Great iron! Absolutely premium, all the features that you would want. It’s true that there is not too much difference in performance due to the difference pressure models available.
This was an absolute bargain at 154.99 during a “deal of the day”.
Don’t forget with all these you just use 50:50 distilled water and regular tap water to top the iron up.

Works well uses more water than the previous one, but as it adjusts steam flow too match heat setting I would expect that is why.

Not as good as the last one
Rather disappointed with the temp control as it doesn’t give any indication that matches the care label. Apart from that it took several uses before it would heat up to the top setting. Seems to be working ok now
I missed the return date as it worked fine till last week when the steam flow had some issues. I will see if it settles by itself. With linen personally this is not my best experience. I find it mo easy with better results to use my old irron which costed 6 times less. However I enjoy pressing as the irron is really light in weight, it slides beatifully when pressing and it is a time saver as I get terrible back pain when standing for long. Overall I like the product, but I am not sure I would buy it again as it seems too expensive to have an issue after 3rd use

Finally dispensed with our old, crappy iron and listened to my Mum about buying one of these. It truly does make ironing easier and dare I say enjoyable. It’s expensive but a worthy investment if you think you’ll use it for 10 years.

I love this iro
I love this iron, was replacing an old favourite and it had to live up to the old one, well, it does indeed. I love that you can pack away the leads to store and the various settings are great, it evens steams well on low temperatures. The steam jet is powerful enough to do clothes on hangers and I have steamed out creases from new curtains. Would definitely recommend, well worth the price.

Nothing is a problem for it, even on eco stetting,

If you hate ironing buy one of these, you will cut down time and whizz through it, your even go looking for ironing its that good
Bought this to replace the one I had for about 15 years .Irons every thing brilliantly. Really cuts down ironing time. Could not go back to an ordinary steam iron . The only slight niggly thing about it is the thermostat button is a bit fiddly. It might seem a bit expensive compared to an ordinary steam iron, but the time and effort saved and finish is well worth the difference. Highly recommended.

This is my 4th steam generator over 20 years and I always buy Tefal. Really easy to use as you just set fabric type and steam function is automatic. Love the eco setting which reduces the steam and rarely need it on full setting. We love 800 TC cotton bedding and I iron all of it. This generator means I can iron a super king duvet cover in c5 minutes. Tip if purchasing: look at the various models in the comparison chart as I saved quite a bit by buying a different colour but all other detail was the same! Excellent value for money and thinking of purchasing another for my daughter.

my wife does a fair amount of ironing and switched back to tefal because other brands are inferior.
Excellent steam generator iron .
Lovely iron bought to replace a previous model which had died after several years good service. Does the job superbly.
My OH loves it we have had steam irons before the last one for 12 years. This is much better with the higher steam pressure and being able to refill without waiting to cool down ars we did with our previous one. would recommend
This is seriously good. My third Tefal Pro Express Steam Generator in about 10 years( I live in hard water area and this is not at all good for these irons) However, that said I do love this one. It is by far the best of the three, ironing is a pleasure and results are brilliant. There are many more to choose from now than when I had my first Steam Generator, having done my research I still came back to Tefal. Honestly, you couldn’t expect more from an iron, it does every job well from delicates to cotton bedlinen. It is expensive but well worth the money. I even say that having had to replace my previous two in a relatively short time. Trouble is, you get such good results, you just don’t want to go back to a conventional iron. Go on, treat yourself, you’ll love it too.

I love this iron .. it’s very lightweight yet super powerful – removes creases with ease .. the water tank is quite big so saves time when ironing – I love the neat way the cable is stored around the front.
Expensive .. but well worth the money
Steam is that powerful you have to be really careful. I use oven gloves when I’m ironing my sheets. Brilliant product but you need asbestos hands.
Wife loves it! Clean and fast, although it’s s bit noisy and does generate a lot of condensation on the steel ironing board that then drips off- ok for us as we have a tiled floor.

Brilliant piece of kit. We had an older model that we thought was good, but this one is so much better with better steam delivery , easier to setup and use.
