I have had many flasks over the years the keeps water hot for ages, still hot after12hrs for a coffee!

This is a great flask plenty big enough to last a full day and it stays piping hot the whole day not like some lukewarm towards the end of the day I’ve done a full day gone home and had what’s left in the flask and it’s still steaming. Even the rattle of the handle takes me back it just puts a smile on your face. It’s never leaked on me even being thrown about the boot.

Sick of cheap flasks that don’t keep the contents at the desired temperature, so I thought I would try thermos as they have been going for years and I was very impressed, I filled them yesterday about midday, one with coffee and the other with tea, drunk about half contents yesterday and this morning I opened them and the contents were still hot. Love the easy pour stopper, no drips. Nice they have kept the traditional handle which makes it easy to pour with one hand whilst holding the cup with the other. Not the cheapest flasks on the market but probably one of the best. Buy cheap you buy twice.

What a great flask, keeps drink hot for several hours. Strong and robust design, well worth the money.

Its much bigger than I expected, but the design makes it easy easy to handle. Easy to oick up and grip, leak proof and not hard to clean. You can unscrew the lid partly to pour, you dont have to take it off completely. And of course the outter lid doubles as a cup. It keeps liquids warm for mamy hours, ive made tea all light with it and it was hot throughout. Great thermos, well worth the money.

Definitely not blue! But a very effective flask, no glass inside so very hardy, kept coffee very hot for a very long time!easy to use and easy to clean.

I really do rate this flask, it does exactly what the advertising says and it is responsibly priced. I had a plastic thermos flask with the glass inner and this has worked well for years but sadly the seal at the top perished. So after looking at a number of different flasks and their various prices, the thermos stainless steel King flask looked a good option. When it arrived I was pleasantly surprised with the build quality and the red colour looks great. Tested it to see if it did keep things hot for 24hrs and I can say yes it does. Use it for hot water to make my tea whilst out and about so not a lot of cleaning required other a rinse out. Works perfectly, pours well and I just wished I brought one sooner as my old plastic flash was good but no match for the stainless steel King.

This is our second “King” Thermos flask – both are excellent! They are some of the best vacuum flasks you can buy.

They keep liquids hot for up to an incredible 24 hours and are indispensable for day trips and picnics. Now we have 2, we can have one for coffee/hot water and one for soup. Brilliant!

1.2 litres is a handy size and sufficient for most occasions. The flasks are very well made and sturdy while the cup is a reasonable size. The stopper design ensures safe and easy pouring of the contents.

I do find the handle a tad annoying but OK once you get used to it. Otherwise, I have no complaints – indeed, I am rather chuffed!

As the joke about a famous footballer goes – “my flasks keeps hot things hot and cold things cold” – alas, not simultaneously….

    The best! ☺️☺️

I hate boiling the kettle late at night, this thing holds enough coffee to fill my cup 4x and keeps. I drank my last cup 5hrs after filling the flask up and it was just as hot as when it was filled up. Perfect. And it pours cleanly too, no spills or having to wipe around the lid afterwards. Highly recommend. I only just 4 star for ease of clean since the diameter of the neck doesn’t allow me to get a sponge in and clean it but a few rinses of hot soapy water works I guess.

Blooming great. Bought for my husband at Christmas! Taken out now several times including yesterday to drink tea on the beach looking at St Michaels mount. The best flask we’ve had. Love the colour and high recommend for keeping the tea hot!

This has been used mainly for cold nights for fishing in particular and it kept the tea so hot it was like the kettle had been boiled every time. It’s very easy to clean, would recommend doing it as soon as possible when you’re home especially if it’s had milk in, to stop any build up. Although if it is left for a day or two, this is easily fixed with some bicarb and boiling water, does the trick every time! No leakage noticed and used the cup included (lid) to have drinks. I note some people have said the cup gets very hot, but if it’s a cold night/day and you have gloves on then it’s not a problem at all.

I have been using a lot of thermoses and was waiting for this model to come on sale for more than a year. This thermos by far exceeds the performance of any thermos I have owned. I have kept boiling water in it around 5 AM and it is still piping hot by 9 am. The capacity of 1.2L is amazing and yet, the shape doesn’t look like it is a huge thermos.

This is a good looking flask but the coating is easily scratched.
I would say it keeps drinks warm but only as long as you don’t open it. Once open it lasts a couple of hours.
It is easy to clean as it is mostly steel.
As it is steel and the handle can fold flat to conserve space, if it is left loose the flask rattles which is very annoying.
It is very robust as if knocked over it won’t break.

  17. Lance Cartelli says:

This smart flask is exactly what I wanted. Gunmetal looks great and hot drinks stay as hot as they’re supposed to for what seems like an impossibly long time. Carry handle is useful but I suppose you’re more likely to put it in some sort of bag. It is slightly awkward to clean because I need to get a narrower brush. I’m splitting hairs there though. I’m very happy with the item.

  18. SherrieHeiman says:

I’ve tested this with ice cubes over 24 hours in a warm environment. Not much melting after that time. I suppose the same will be the case with hot stuff in a cold environment.

I’m giving this 4/5 because the handle is a rattling nightmare. If this was in my pack and it came loose it would drive me loopy on a hike.

I also feel like they should provide a cleaning kit for the inside (as some brands do) because the shape just makes it difficult without special tools.

I bought this for a present for my wife. She likes to take a flask of tea out for the day. I remember my parents having one of these years ago and thought it would be ideal.
I was immediately disappointment that it didn’t feel quite as sturdy as the one of yester year but I must admit, it still does a fantastic job, and more importantly, my wife is delighted with it.
It keeps warm for ages – a full day out without any issues. We pre warm it before filling which I think also helps!

Keeps water hot all day. Looks nice and is easy to clean. It does seem to scratch on the outside quite easily, but maybe that’s me being careless. However, it does exactly what I bought it for and I’m very pleased.

I bought this to take walking for those essential, middle of nowhere, coffee breaks. I tested this first with boiling water by filling it straight from the kettle then leaving it all evening. When I opened it just before bedtime the water was still boiling hot and steaming. For a field test I took it out on a two hour walk full of hot, white coffee. When filling a flask like this be sure to fill it will boiling water first while you are preparing your drink then tip away the water and quickly add your drink and seal it up. I made the coffee in a pyrex jug first with milk and poured it onto the flask – 4 large mugs worth. An hour and half into the walk and the coffee was piping hot – success! The pouring cap works well and the lid works well as a mug. Even when i got home there was enough left in the flask for a final mug full and was still hot. I’d be happy using this all day – I’d throughly recommend it.

Keeps coffee piping hot - ideal for walking

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersBrought this in 2016 and have used it every week day to provide me with hot coffee through out the day. After 4 years its lost its sparkle on the out side, its sticker and its got a few dents where I dropped it but to be honest I couldn’t give a monkeys chuff because that’s not what keeps the coffee hot the flask does and with a fifty year guarantee this flask should see me out. Just recently I’ve purchased two more at a bargain 17 quid each. So if your after a flask then look no further this is the flask you’ve been looking for….. As long as you want to keep hot liquids hot and cold liquids cold and hold just over a litre of liquid.

Very nicely made flask. Holds enough coffee for a full day at work. Using the top as a cup there would be enough for five cups easily. I only need three.
The simple screw plug to the top of the flask, which you pour through after half a turn, is not gimmicky and feels like it should have great longevity.
The thermos flask keeps my coffee plenty hot enough all day and indeed longer than I have a use for.
My only gripe is the metal buckle type construction of the handle. It’s noisy when in use or even when in a bag if it moves about. That being said it feels like a nice strong handle to use.
Very happy with this Thermos flask and would recommend it to anyone looking for a flask.

Bought to replace old thermos which has had one too many uses and it’s starting to show it’s age.

Slightly bulky for carrying about it hillwalking but if you have a larger bag and don’t mind the slight weight increase of a flask then this is ideal.

On first use water boiled and pouted in flask at 7am, still boiling hot when used at 2am and when pouring out the remainder at 10pm, there was still enough heat for a cup of tea!

Recommend a bottlebrush to help clean if putting anything other than hot/cold water in.

It’s a very nice product, function-wise is almost flawless, however, the handle is something that really bothers me. It’s made out of metal, hinged to the bottle, and it flaps, quite a lot. It’s so clumsy, it’s so uncomfortable to hold, specially when the flask is fully loaded. I wish they had chosen a more traditional handle fixed to the flask itself.

  32. Anonymous says:

Look sturdy. Fits better into bags because of the collapsable handle. Actually bought two. Keeps water cool for 24h as it says. Closing it can be tricky sometimes, but I only use it for water so the leaks didn’t cause me damage, stains etc. Bought to replace the one with glass interior because it breaks way too easily and I am pretty pleased with it.

Its leak proof. Good for making hot drinks, and good for pouring as dont need to take the cap fully of just pour. Just make sure its screwed tightly back on after use. I use it for work when I am on a 10 hour shift. As saves me buying hot drinks while atwork.

  35. MadisonCovert says:

Fantastic flask. Decided to test it upon arrival. Filled with boiling water (did not preheat), and checked after 20 and 26 hours. After 20 water was just about hot enough to brew a decent cup of tea, and at 26 water was a little hotter than the temperature I would drink my tea at. I imagine with preheating the flask it would retain the heat a little better, but at its current stats already outperforms my needs. Delighted.

Prior to this I had a glass lined thermos which easily kept liquids hot for 16 hours (advertised 12). Bought this as a more durable replacement. It’s much more compact and looks like it’ll withstand being bounded about on the back of my bike.

As other reviews have mentioned, handle is a bit wobbly and can make a bit of noise. Lid isn’t a great cup, not very well insulated. But none of these are concerns for me.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersSo, being someone who loves the challenge of confirming, or disproving outlandish claims from manufactures, I was keen to test the claim by Thermos of keeping things hot or cold for 24 hours. Having had numerous flasks in the past, which on a good day would do the job for 6 hours or so, the challenge was on. So after filling with hot, not boiling water I took the temperature of the contents, and found it to be 59 degC. 24 hours later, it had dropped to 47 degC. I can only speak for myself here, but, I was more than impressed. The flask itself seems robust, and should survive a certain amount of mistreatment, that’s not to say it’s indestructible, as anyone with children will know, even Tonka toys are no match for a determined 4 year old, or a 9 kg load washing machine no match for a determined wife, but that’s another story. The poring system is of the quarter to half a turn then pour variety, rather than some of the more elaborate systems, which seem to fail after a while. This is simple, and relies on a single silicone rubber seal. It also give a predictable flow from the spout, and no drips running down the side of the flask. So well done Thermos, your claims are justified, you have made an excellent product. I would not hesitate in recommending this to friends, and may well now look at getting one of their food flasks as well.

  38. Anonymous says:

I like this flask primarily because its method of allowing the user to pour without removing the inner stopper is so simple, therefore likely to remain effective for many a long year to come. It’s well and truly worthy of the Thermos name and it fits in the cubby box between the cab seats in my camper van, meaning that I don’t have to clamber over the engine hump to retrieve my refreshment from a cupboard in the galley. OK, so I could get out, walk round to the side door, get inside, place the flask on the passenger seat from behind, then get out, close the door, walk back to the driver’s door, etc…
Simplicity works every time, so buy one, it’s a good flask and the price paid was very fair.

This is a fab thermo flask,
It keeps our tea piping hot all day, and holds a good 4/ 5 cups of tea.
We put hot water in it to heat up before filling with tea.
It so far is leak proof, but we do always have it upright.
The handle that rattled against the side of the bottle can be a little annoying, but if you oad it out in whatever bag you’re carrying it in the man you can prevent it from rattling.
Other than that is a fab product. Love the colour and how much it can hold. Recommend this.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis flask is an absolute godsend for my cousin who is sadly terminally ill. With her worsening condition, trips to the kitchen to make a cup of tea were becoming a painful exercise – now with the flask filled to the brim with tea in the mornings she feels so much more relaxed throughout the day, probably due to the fact that she doesn’t have to keep asking for a cup of tea – even though it’s no trouble to make her a drink she enjoys having this little bit of independence. She keeps the flask next to her recliner and pours herself a steaming, hot cuppa anytime she likes – and yes it does stay really hot – though I will say she drinks the full contents in well under 12hrs!

For anyone who is confined to bed this an ideal way of ensuring a hot cup of tea/coffee/soup is on hand throughout the day, I can’t think of a better gift.

Great flask. Works well and pours through the cap without spilling. Handle is comfortable and of course it does what it’s supposed to do…keep things hot. One annoying fault is that the cup is not insulated and gets hot to hold. I would have thought a market leader like Thermos would not have overlooked this basic essential feature in the design of the product. My old Thermos flask which this one replaced had a very well made, insulated cup with it. Unfortunately it won’t fit on this new one. Apart from that, a great flask and I would recommend it.

After buying a series of cheap flasks and them lasting a month or two before breaking I bit the bullet and shelled out triple the norm for this.
It’s very pretty with its chrome cap andnl metallic cranberry paint job. What I love about the inner cap is it has arrows so when you’ve loosened it and you’re ready to pour you know exactly where the liquid is coming from.
The only area that I think could be improved is the strap, it’s hinged on each side and just loose, as the weight shifts the flask can move position, it would be better if it had some elasticity to it.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersThe look of it is very nice with a polished look. Cup feels somewhat robust but the lid for pouring does feel a little awkward to screw on when you have completely removed this. Poured about a litre of hot water which i had boiled but left for a little while in the kettle. Poured a cup out after a few hours it kept it hot then waited about 8 hours and poured another cup which remained hot maybe not as hot as it was originally but still hot. Reached the 16 hour marker and it was still hot with steam coming out and still felt better than my previous similar products. I then reached the 20 hour marker which i believe it gives me confidence with this product. Did not really test the full 24 hours but at the 20 hour marker the drink was still reasonably hot but again still decreased in temperature from the previous cup that was poured but still enough heat to say that you would probably be able to keep your tea and drink it now and then from the thermos during whatever endeavours you have planned. Personally this does more than i need to as i want to use for me to take to work so realistically just needed to last around 9-10 hours and may use for the odd occasion to go out and about.

I bought this for cold days at my horse’s stables, so that I can have a warming drink as I muck out stables. I prepare tea in it, add the sweetener and milk, and it’s a perfect ready-made piping-hot tea whenever I would like. I don’t really like the little cup that comes with it though, it’s very small and thermal, and so the hot drink doesn’t cool down for ages…it’s a long wait before you can drink it. I’ve bought a porcelain mug to fill from the flask, and that suits me better, as it holds more and the temp comes down so you can drink it. The flask keeps drinks piping hot for many hours. It does not leak. The only complaint is that it’s not easy to clean inside it. It should be sold with a long handled brush cleaner to get inside it, (but it isn’t). It’s quite new, so I just rinse it out with water after using it and it hasn’t stained inside yet. Good fluid capacity and is very effective. It’s actually better than having a kettle etc to make a cup of tea, there’s no waiting for the water to boil, or for it to brew, because you’ve done all that at home in the warm! It’s an instant perfect cuppa, just the way you like it.

Golden Review Award: 51 From Our UsersThis is a solid thermoflask which we have started to use – mainly for hot drinks down my allotment. It is robust and easy to carry and pour. It also has a decent capacity, you can get 5 cups of drink out of it, so thats two each for two people and a spare.
Now to the claim that it retains its hotness/codlness for 24 hours. That maybe true if you do NOT open it for 24 hours, However, if like us you have a hot drink and a few hours later a second one, there is no doubt it will not be as hot. My estimate is that a hot drink is still drinkable for maybe 6 hours max, which is long enough in most circumstances. So I do I think the 24 hour claim is slightly misleading, but otherwise we are very happy with it.

I dropped my old thermos from the car boot onto the ground, it was the old plastic green one with glass inside and the glass shattered, which was my fault. That flask lasted over 20 years and was brilliant. I hope this one which doesn’t have glass lasts so long and was as good as my last One. It’s a great design this new one, brilliantly made and hopefully of the some results. Keeps drinks hot for 12 hours no problem.

used them for years and got a new one due to my dad keeping one after his rubbish one gave hi cold coffee after on 12 hours lol. also good for the summer for keeping things cold. I have 3. 1 hot drink, 1 cold drink and 1 for keeping spare cold water for me or the dogs and put simply these are the best. also v hard to brake as trust me we have dropped , bashed and abused them

Loved the colour loved the capacity lots of cups of tea at the beach all piping hot. It really does keep the drinlks hot all day long. Only downside for me is the handle that goes flat which is good but wiggles around a lot seems not to be very useful when pouring hot drinks

his is very good and I would give it 5 stars well the casing is a bit cheap as it makes the noise of metal but the fact that it keeps your water warm is just fantastic sometimes I forget I have hot water in the flask and when I remember the water is still very hot.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is a big flask, it looks good, but more importantly it works well. It will keep a liquid hot for 24 hours, depending on how often it’s opened and how full it is. I fill it with boiling water every morning and open it a few times to make drinks at work. Then if I leave it a quarter full overnight you can make a good coffee the next morning (probably not tea though). If pours well and you only get a little condensation in the outer lid. The only criticism is that the handle doesn’t stay collapsed against the body, but this doesn’t actually affect anything. It looks strong and hasn’t aged at all in the few weeks I’ve had it.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersJust goes to show that you get what you pay for (most of the time!). Don’t bother with a cheap flask, they don’t keep your drinks hot for long or get less effective over time (in my experience at least). This Thermos is a dream, spent a cold January day clearing a coppice and my tea stayed steaming hot all day. Even managed a final cuppa once back home and was still pleasantly hot.

    Buy cheap, buy twice.

Was spending 4-5 quid a day on coffee at work, fill this up Instead and I get more to drink and have saved a small fortune, will last a lifetime.

I’ve filled It up at 5:30am on a Friday, taken It to work In -1 to -3 degrees C (work outdoors) come home, forgot about it, opened It the next day at 11am and the coffee inside was still warm enough to drink (I didn’t drink it)

Really cannot complain. For me it’s one of those no brainer, makes life easier and cheaper purchases.

I am the guy that takes a thermos of tea with me every morning to work. Most days I drink the whole thing. Some days I don’t. One day I poured out the dredges of the previous mornings tea only to discover they where still warm. Not boiling but warm. Call me impressed, keeps my tea properly hot all day, its still warm the next morning and it is really well made.

This is a excellent product and performs as described. The reason for my 4 stars on durability is the weak link in the flask is the lid which over approximately 12 months came apart on the inside. I requested a replacement lid from Amazon but was informed they don’t replace individual parts and told me to dispose of the flask and sent me a replacement free of charge, so I can’t fault the service. As I understand it Thermos do guarantee these flasks for I believe 50 years so they are pretty much made for life. I know I can buy a replacement lid from Thermos for about 5 and may well do that, but I can say the flask itself is bomb proof and will last for years. So in conclusion this flask is fantastic value for money and the guarantee will be honoured by Amazon and I think Thermos needs to come up with a better lid to make this product indestructible.

After too many breakages of standard flasks, have finally found a metal one that actuaaly works, and keeps liquids hot. Tried another brand a few years ago, and put of this type of flask as it did not retain heat, allowing liquid to cool too quickly. This one really works, liquid remains hot!

It was perfect for the job. Holds both hot and cold liquids fresh for hours on end!!! Used it for cold water with ice in it while traveling and after as long as ten hours after, it was fresh and cold with no peculiar taste or odors like other cheap flasks. Though a bit difficult to clean, I definitely recommend!

Bought this after my husband managed to get 2 previous thermos flasks broken at work. This flask keeps hot liquids hot for 24 hours just as it says. It is not cheap but well worth the extra money as it is of really good quality and is guaranteed for a lot longer than the Stanley one I bought. Would definitely recommend this flask.

Perfect for hiking, is strong and sturdy, glad to see the ‘Thermos’ brand is still living up to the hype. Only small problems, the handle rattle about when ‘flattened’ which is a bit annoying and the label for the word ‘thermos’ was stuck on wonky, but otherwise I would highly recommend.

Golden Review Award: 21 From Our UsersThe flask is excellent for keeping your liquids hot without any change to temperature, in my experience that is with six hours. The quality is most satisfactory and the surface has a very nice feel and the handle I have found is a necessity when it comes to pouring.
I would have given this 5 Stars but when pouring you always get that drip that runs down the side whether you use the pourer or directly from the opening.
I don’t recommend using the pourer as you don’t get a smooth flow but that’s fine as you can just unscrew the top off.
I do wonder if there is actually a flask that doesn’t drip whilst pouring.

When the flask turned up i was a bit disappointed that it didn’t seem that tough it just felt a bit flimsy but this has not stopped it from really performing. I make coffee in mine at 7am every day and it keeps piping hot all day. Last week I didn’t get round to drink the contents and opened it 28hours later and the contents where still to hot to drink straight away. Fantastic bit of kit.

We had a flask for years and years and eventually it met it’s end. I bought another one which was quite pricey but that lasted about a year. This was to replace it. Seems sturdy and comfortable to hold. Design fault with cup though, it looks great but it gets very hot in your hand. However five hours after making coffee it was as hot as when it was made. We had some left when we returned and it was a good 10 hours after the coffee was made and it was still hot enough to be drinkable. I just hope it lasts.

Sturdy and keeps my tea hot. As it doesn’t have the usual glass inside I can bash this around and not worry about it. Lid is a handy cup and the clever stopper creates a pouring spout which means you don’t have to remove it completely when pouring, helps keep the heat in and means you aren’t trying to juggle the stopper whilst pouring hot tea out.

Golden Review Award: 178 From Our UsersIt takes a fair amount of time to document how an item puts up to the test of purpose after purchasing and if it really is as good as it states, but I managed to make my mind up in less than a week.

I got into my laboratory first thing Thursday morning and was playing around with some thermocouple readers and finally found one I was happy with, a tested & calibrated unit with a new battery.

12pm at around lunchtime I filled the flask up with boiling water straight out of the kettle, enough to get right to the top of the flask and I shut the lid and allowed the heat of the water to dissipate through the flasks metal chamber and warm the unit up internally for around 5 minutes, I put the kettle back on to a boil and as soon as the button clicked I emptied the water out of the flask and re-filled the flask up, creating a good seal and let it sit for 24 hours in my 20*C ambient temperature laboratory before opening back up and taking another measurement.

Friday lunchtime I got my thermocouples ready and opened up the flask at 12:05pm (24 hours after filling) and put the thermocouple inside the flask, with a temperature reading of 68.9*C the water was still steaming and was far too hot for me to drink.

To then accurately repeat this process and get a measurement of the water that went in, I simply repeated my first step but instead of letting the water sit for 24 hours, I took a reading as soon as I filled the flask up. Which was 96.4*C straight from the kettle.

    96.4*C – Start Temp

    68.9*C – End Temp

    96.4*C – 68.9*C = 27.5*C heat loss in 24 hours.

So around 1*C heat loss an hour.

The thermos flask works, it holds heat for 24 hours, it does exactly what it needs to do and meets the stated time.

I still need to do a 24 hour cold temperature test but I may wait until the summer to do that.

And of course I gave it a good test on the lake today fishing, with great results there too.

I hope you enjoyed my review and found it helpful.

Golden Review Award: 34 From Our UsersAbsolutely brilliant so far. It’s the best flask I’ve ever had. I can make a flask of tea in the morning for work and when I come to wash it out the next morning a full 24 hours later it’s still lukewarm. It stays red hot throughout the day. I normally have to put some cold water in, so it’s drinkable when I pour it out. The flask it’s self looks fantastic. It came with Prime on time and undamaged as always. I think it probably stays “hot” for longer than the 9 hours it says.

The only negatives I can see are as some people have pointed out is the handle and the paintwork. The handle basically has some movement in it so wouldn’t be great if you are old and frail or a young child. It is fine for a normal adult. The paintwork does scratch quite easily. I have dropped it once or twice and scratched it while holding keys. It still works fine and looks okay. I imagine as long as you don’t puncture it its okay as it’s a vacuum technology. I have seen some reviews saying they have dropped it a bunch of times and it’s fine. The 50-year guarantee and the average 4.5-star reviews from nearly 1,000 reviews tells you it’s good.

It’s something I use almost every day and for 25 with a 50-year guarantee, it represents incredible value for money. It’s much better than previous flasks I have had. For me, the positives far outweigh the few negatives.

Keeps tea hot all day and night!

Thermos really do flasks so well, don’t they? When you think of flasks, their name comes top of the list. Anyhow, this has not disappointed. I have only used it for hot liquids, so cannot comment on keeping stuff cool. However, I have taken hot soup out for the day and it has still been piping hot after 8 hours, in fact too hot to drink straight away.

Golden Review Award: 176 From Our UsersThis is the first flask I have ever bought, and honestly I believe it is the only one I will ever need. In the mornings (7am) I fill this flask to capacity with boiling water straight from the kettle (after filling with hot tap water inside overnight to pre-heat the flask). No leaks or bursts from steam pressure so far which is a good sign, which is a surprise as I keep it in my backpack which gets shaken and thrown around all day.

At 10am I have my usual tea break and pour hot water from my flask and I always get comments about how steaming hot the water is. Annoyingly my tea is always too hot to drink and it takes a good 15 minutes to cool enough to drink without scalding myself. I then reseal the flask until lunchtime. At lunch (1pm) I use the water to make a bowl of instant ramen and another cup of tea. The water is still so hot the noodles are ready within a minute or two and the tea is still too hot to drink. After I get home after 5 the flask still has more than enough water left to make another cup of tea which is STILL too hot to drink immediately. Excellent heat retention. I have yet to test this out on cold liquids.

Yes the handle rattles a bit and some would prefer there be no handle at all; but would you trust yourself to pour near-boiling water from a container this size without a handle? I am an average sized man and I can get my hand just over half way around this flask, so those with smaller hands would need something to hold on to securely for a safe pour. If the handle were detachable and a carry-strap were an option for the metal loops on the flask this could be a good feature for future designs.

The only thing I find that detracts from the flask is that if you choose to drink from the lid it gets very hot to the point it is uncomfortable to hold. It is a plastic lid with a thin metal exterior and the first time drinking hot water from it the tea tasted a bit ‘plastic-ey’ but that has since gone after multiple uses.

All in all an excellent flask which does the job as intended.

One last thing to note is that when you get this flask there is a small paper warranty card rattling around inside which needs to be removed before pouring any liquid in. 50 years warranty!

What you would expect from Thermos. A well made flask. Wanted a large capacity. Chose red as it was the cheapest for some reason.
My husband takes it to work and it is used everyday. So the only small problem is the glue that holds the plastic cup and the stainless stel outer cup has become unstuck. I suppose we could use the warranty to get a new one.

Its been keeping my water cold for a good 8 hours, then cool for another 8. By the next day its still somewhat cool, but of course not as cold originally. Still overall pretty good.

Golden Review Award: 73 From Our UsersI bought this Thermos flask earlier this year to be used on day walks on nearby hills and accessible mountains. It is of a solid construction and does exactly what it purports. The tea is as hot drunk at the summit of a hill as it is drinking what remains in the flask when drinking at home at the end of a day’s walking. The flask is surprisingly light and the handle is a well designed excellent feature, especially in wet and windy conditions. I cannot praise this item highly enough and is most definitely the best flask I have ever owned. You certainly get what you pay for and in my opinion this flask is certainly good value for money.

Golden Review Award: 15 From Our UsersMy son bought me this marvellous King Flask by Thermos for Christmas because he knows I never drink enough during my 15 hour work days. He says the 1.2L capacity of this should keep me going until I get home in between shifts!

My first thoughts on handling this flask was how large it was. It’s a very imposing flask that looks like it means business! The matt black colour that I got looks smart and modern. It has a stainless steel interior and exterior and is relatively lightweight for it’s size even when filled to the brim with tea!

It has a handle on the side that you can use to hold the flask either upright or on it’s side a bit like a briefcase. At first I found it awkward until I realised you can fix it into the vertical position to hold and pour easily. To do this you just have to lift the handle up and out and it stays.

The stopper on the flask is designed so that you don’t have to fully remove it to pour your drink. I’ve found that to get a clean pour I have to turn it 2 half circles after the arrow is pointing out.

I’ve been using this for the past few days and can honestly say it keeps my tea piping hot. It fits in 4 full mugs of tea which is perfect for my needs! The outside of the flask stays cool and when screwed tight it’s leakproof. I love the insulated cup you get with it. It’s a good size and I can hold it to keep my hands warm even when the tea is too hot to drink!

The listing says this flask will keep drinks hot or cold for a full 24 hours. I’ve no doubt of this capability but I’ve not tested it out because my tea doesn’t last that long! I’d recommend pre-heating the flask before use by filling with hot water and leaving for a few minutes before emptying and refilling with your drink.

My only worry is that I might scratch the lovely finish on the outside of the flask but I guess that’s a very minor detail.

I’m very pleased with this flask. Having used it for a few days it’s not as cumbersome as I first thought and is quite easy to carry around.

I’d be happy to recommend it plus with the 50 year guarantee it’s worth trying out.

    Keeps me hydrated 😊

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersWithout a doubt this is the best flask I have ever owned. As long as you give it a five minute pre-heat before adding your beverage it will keep it hot for several hours.
I use this for hot water only to make tea or coffee at work.
On one occasion I left this in my bag and forgot it was there. In the time it was in the bag I did not use it, so it had been sealed since it was filled. When I remembered it, I emptied it in to the sink in the kitchen and was amazed to find it was still hot, twenty four hours later. I’m not sure it was hot enough to brew a cuppa with, but I used the water to do some washing up and I could just about keep my hands in the water, it was that warm.
I haven’t used it outside on a really cold day yet, but have every confidence this would still keep the contents hot for hours as long as you remember to perform the pre-heat process. I’d definitely buy another. Nice one Thermos.

Absolutely super flask! Holds enough for four mugs of tea. Not only does it keep drinks steaming, they stay that way inside the flask all day! Used it on countless day trips already so would highly recommend. Saves ‘s not using coffee shops! Only caution is it is quite heavy and that does make pouring tricky so be careful not to burn yourself. The outside stays cool to touch but the handle is not steady. However I gave it four stars for keeping drinks so warm for so long. Bought the cheery shiny red colour and love it!

Amazing! I tried it yesterday with boiling water from the kettle, filled it and left for 8 hours. I opened it just enough to let out a cupful and it was still boiling hot (not the usual hot from a thermos but really boiling hot). I resealed it and left it overnight and 24 hours later it was still hot (not as hot as I had let some water out and had opened the seal) and would have been fine for tea or coffee. I got this to replace a thermos that barely kept thinks warm for an hour, thinking it would be better but I was amazed.

As I write this review, I’m drinking a steaming hot cup of coffee out of it that I brewed over 24 hours ago!

Not really much more to say than that, if you want to keep a drink hot for a long time, you can’t do much better. If I had to criticise anything, it’s that the lid/cup transfers heat very easily, so if you put something near boiling in it it’s hard to drink from bare handed.

My previous Thermos flask broke after many years of every day use. I was anxious to replace it with something of equal quality, as i like to have hot cups of coffee throughout the day (and we are not allowed to have a kettle in the university studios). This flask fits an entire caffatiere of coffee with a little room to spare, and keeps it piping hot all day (it is still warm the next morning, 24 hours later!) It feels very sturdy and has survived the knocks and bumps of everyday use for the last few months. All round good flask!

After My previous aladdin stainless steel flask failed and went cold by midday. (common fault) I went on the hunt for a decent flask that would last longer than 12months. I can’t speak for longevity just yet but the flask is excellent. 24hrs and still around 55 / 60c. I was abit dubious after buying several supermarket Thermos flasks (glass) as when I got to work, I placed my bag down and smash. I have a 30 year old thermos that is knocked around all the time and the glass hasnt broke yet but none the less I have managed to break two within a day of owning them. This how ever seems to be made well and quite light construction, Only thing I miss is not having a tea bag holder at the base like my aladdin flask but that is not the end of the world. I could also make a minor for the cup, its not all that well insulated so can be too hot to hold which was not a problem with previous brand. Overal though a good purchase , I just hope it stays hot with a 50 year warranty

Golden Review Award: 23 From Our UsersI am a camping, picnic fanatic and over the years have had my fair share of flasks form the stainless steel type bought from the local supermarket to plastic insulated ones and they all have ranged from varying degrees of plain poor and useless, to satisfactory and quite good, but that was up until the purchase of my very glamorous redThermos King (don’t know why the heading says food flask it most definitely is not) the flasks that always kept my drinks hottest the longest was the glass ones, the last one of these bit the dust after the smallest of knocks while in my bag last year…gutted. I researched high and low in pursuit of a flask that would take the knocks and still keep my drinks hot for a long period of time. My search is officially over I have in my possession the flask that is truly the ‘King’ of all flasks. I was loathe to pay 25 for something as mundane and unexciting as a drinks flask, but based on the reviews and weighing up the amount of money I have paid on flasks that don’t really punch their weight I decided to bite the bullet and I am so chuffed to say that I have NO REGRETS. This flask is simply amazing… and I really mean amazing. I confess that I have not tried the 24 hour test that it claims on the flask but I have primed the flask at 11am and filled with hot water and did not open again until 8pm that evening. I was astonished to find that when I poured my first cup the steam that came out of this flask was like I had just boiled the kettle. The water was so hot it was in fact undrinkable for a least five minutes. literally UNDRINKABLE!. So with regards to its claim to keep hot for 24 hours – I have no doubt it will be able to measure up and pass with flying colours.
Do not hesitate, dither or procrastinate just buy this flask it will be the only flask you will ever need or want. I have 3 redundant flasks in my cupboard now as none them come even close to the performance of this beauty. I am ordering the smaller 0.47l versions for my brother for Fathers Day and for my sister who was the first person to have a cup of tea from my new flask and she is a stickler for hot beverages and is renowned for returning her Costa coffee four times on the trot for not being hot enough. She was bowled over by by flask and keen to have a smaller version which I found is available to my delight. It is a tribute to the old adage that “you get what you pay for” definitely not cheap, but in my opinion worth every single penny.

(This was a birthday present for my Dad, so this review is based on his experience)

This is one heavy duty flask. Solid, well built, and looks like a premium item.

As for it’s claims of heat retention, well, it was filled with hot coffee (after priming with boiling water for 15 mins) at around 6am, and when he came home at 7pm, the remnants were still almost too hot to drink straight from the flask.

It’s not light, so if it’s for hiking or walking, consider the smaller one. If you’re off camping or fishing, or just want one for work, it’s great.
