Service Plan
Tractive uses GPS and communicates through cell phone towers, which enable you to track your pet 24/7. Since using the cell phone towers and infrastructure has expense associated with it, a small monthly or annual fee has to be charged by Tractive. You can stop and restart the service anytime, and we don’t charge any activation or other hidden fees.
The service fee is a flat fee. Tractive offers different service options. More information can be found on the website of Tractive!
Tractive GPS requires a subscription plan to track your pet
The Tractive GPS tracking device dogs will always let you know where your pet is.
Check the location of your furry friend in any browser or on your smartphone. The position of the animal is displayed on a digital map. The real time GPS Pet tracker is waterproof, recommended for all pets over 4.5 kg (9 pounds) and can be easily and safely attached to the collar.

Here's how to ensure it works. And it does.
First off, I don’t think that Tractive explain how it works …for many of us.
It requires four elements:
1: Your phone should be in view of the sky. Strangely I’ve found that if your handset can’t find satellite GPS, then the app doesn’t work.
2: IT ABSOLUTELY relies on the unit locking on to a 4g phone signal (like Amazon Kindles). There’s no need for a Sim Card. It just works that way.
AND VERY IMPORTANTLY:
4: There’s a tip regards recharging the unit: Leave the thing in its ON state when you begin recharging it. Then, when it’s charged, turn it OFF. (hold the button down until it turns off). Then immediately turn it back on (same process). That ensures that there’s no glitch and that it burst into life.
One last point. It ain’t no Garmin Standard, but it gets you to within shouting distance. It does more than that, but the instructions cover all that.
I’d seriously recommend one.
Keeping my dog safe
Find it very accurate, to save battery life can just go live when dog goes out of sight it then shows dog whereabout and which way he’s heading .Did manage to knock it off once but found it because it’s got a sound alert which is very helpful ,I wrap a bit of vetwrap round it now just to prevent this,I can highly recommend this tracker gives you peace of mind if you have a dog that might chase just as a back up no substitute for dog training but very useful,excellent value for money I’ve had mine for two years no problems
Absolutely brillia
We have a rescue who likes to go and explore-this means we can let her without going into blind panic! It is absolutely brilliant and so precise. Lovely to watch her (the little dot!) running towards (or away!) from us. Would NEVER be without it. It’s a gif send.

I bought 2 of these so why only 4 stars?
Simple.
I have 2 issues with this device.
1) It locked up on me for 4 days and it took the support help line 2 days to update the tracker so everything started working again. I was pretty miffed about that.
2) The battery drain is really bad. Even if you tell the tracker where home is so it goes into ECO mode, it still goes flat in 4 to 5 days without use. By that I mean it’s with the dog and I’m not using the phone app.
This means if we do a little bit of predictive analysis and lets say the dog wanders off in the middle of a week when the charge is down to 1/2 this means you have around 30 mins to find your dog with active tracking . In theory it should be enough but it worries me. I’v very much like to see a method of charging it every night like a watch or phone etc. That way you’d get the full 60 mins to find your pooch if the worst happened.
