They small, sturdy the best thing is they save having more cables around.
I’ve had 4 other so called usb 3.0 to usb-c adapters in the past. They either flat out didn’t work, or broke after a few uses due to cheap builds. So I’d pretty much given up on buying an adapter, till I saw this one on sale.
After a bit of thought I decided to give it a go, and colour me surprised it’s thus far proven to be the best I’ve used to date.
Build quality is superb. What also caught me by surprise was the weight, they have a bit of heft to them which to me says the materials used in the building were of good quality. No cheap thin aluminium here!
Truth be to;d I only have a minor issue with the build quality, and that is that the usb 3 side is a bit lose, it’s easy to pull out what ever is connected, I’ve had one just fall out on its own when I knocked my laptop. A minor gripe, but one I hope is resolved in an upgraded model.
Beyond this everything has worked as it was intended.
Highly recommend this over other such adapters!

Perfect for what I needed, tranferred all my stuff from other laptop devices onto usb and simply plugged the adapter in to my new macbook, it instantly worked. It fits in the usb-c firmly and the usb port itself is sturdy, so it is not flimsy despite its little size. I liked how small it is compared to other adapters available as it is easy to carry around without taking up physical storage space. Not fussy that it doesn’t have 100% colour match to my macbook as I didn’t by for eastethics.

It is REALLY annoying to spend so much on a new MacBook and then discover that nothing I have can plug into the USB sockets without an adapter. Even more annoying, though the new Mac has 4 USB-C sockets, they are in pairs too close together to use simple adapters like this. Effectively I can only use 2 of the 4 USB-C sockets for cameras, backup drive, Garmin watch etc etc etc. The problem is not with this adapter. Even if it were paper-thin, the standard USB plugs are too big to sit side by side in the MacBook USB-C sockets. Apple is playing a dangerous game. It risks annoying previously loyal customers. I have an absolute house full of cables, plugs, and adapters and they have still managed to design something that requires me to go and buy more! These little adapters are, at least, quite small.

We recently bought a MacProBook for our son and hadn’t realised you couldn’t use a normal USB stick. This adapter worked brilliantly and was very reasonably priced. Would recommend it.

They are good quality, but too wide to put side by side on a macbook pro 2019, so you can only use two slots, not 4.

Does what it says. USB C at one end and USB 3 at the other. Very handy for connecting older USB devices to laptop and very robust build. Only downside is that the size of them means that you cannot use both at once with a MacBook Air as the ports are too close to each other.

These USB-C Adapters worked straight out of the box, pluged them straight in the c-port of the Thunderbolt and connected a USB memory stick and they work fine.

I don’t use many USB products with my MacBook Pro so keep two of these with me at all times just incase! – Prefer them over having huge dongles sticking out of each side of the Mac. The colour compliments the Space Grey of the MacBook – only slight criticism is that it would be nice if they where made from aluminium for that extra quality feel.

I had an old 2009 MacBook Pro in which the internal CD-ROM had failed so I replaced it with an additional hard drive and then rather stupidly bought an external SuperDrive before I realised that it was not natively supported by Macs which had originally come with internal drives! Tweaking one of the system configuration files resolved the problem until the most recent versions of Mac OS removed that particular work around and so for several years the SuperDrive has sat on a shelf gathering dust and to be honest I did not really need a CD ROM drive anyway. I recently rediscovered the drive along with an Iomega external combination drive which includes a 3.5″ floppy and tried them on my new 2018 MacBook Pro via a USB-C hub but neither worked, I got a message saying “USB device requires power” and was on the point of throwing them both away when I decided to make one last attempt at connection but using a direct converter rather than a hub.
The point of this rather long winded ramble is that having read numerous reviews about USB-C converters which do not quite work as advertised I was very pleased that these adapters actually allowed me to connect two very different and some would say antiquated devices to a state of the art computer and they both worked first time with no messing around, the machine was able to see them and read files from media.
First impressions are good, they feel substantial, build quality appears excellent for the very reasonable price and you never know when you might need to read a CD or even a 3.5″ floppy even in these days of downloadable gigabyte sized media files.

Snug fi
I liked the way that the USB-C plug sinks fully into the laptop socket, leaving the body of the adaptor pressed snugly against the edge of the laptop. You feel as though it makes the connection more rugged against accidental sideways knocks.

This small item is an absolute godsend. I don’t know why Apple decided to change the type of connector as the original was so good, however, this small device allows the use of USB devices very easily. The fact there were two in the pack made it twice as good!

What can I say? I plugged it into the iMac, connected the USB cable to my external powered disk and it worked straight away. No problem and very well built with a nice solid feel to the metal casing

I’ve seen a few adaptors for converting USB-3 to USB-C and they’ve either been too bulky or poorly made. These are very small, and fit the USB connector snugly. I use mine with an external HDD and an iPhone lighting cable, and haven’t had issues with either. The construction is a solid metal outer case, and is very durable.

Bought a new MacBook Pro with only usb c ports so bought this product so I could still plug in usb products. Works perfectly and looks nice and compact. Doesn’t wiggle around too much when plugged in. The grey colour is darker than the grey of the Space Grey MacBook but this isn’t an issue for me.

Bought a new MacBook Pro with only usb c ports so bought this product so I could still plug in usb products. Works perfectly and looks nice and compact. Doesn’t wiggle around too much when plugged in. The grey colour is darker than the grey of the Space Grey MacBook but this isn’t an issue for me.

Since Apple is perverse enough to make a laptop with only USB C/Thunderbolt 3 connectors, these adapter are essential to be able to connect it to the outside world. Work perfectly and give USB1/2/3 compatibility. Great price too.

Fantastic little adapters which match my MacBook Pro. Half the price compared to the apple adapter and double the product and it’s a good match for the space grey colour of the MacBook. They are made from durable material and don’t add any bulk or look silly when attached to the device.
Too Wide To Use Side By Side on Macbook Pro 2018 15"....
…. but it does actually say this, sort of, in the description. Regardless they work fine. A tight fit but that’s better than sloppy. And decent built and packaging and a friendly note too.
I purchased these after purchasing my 2018 MacBook Pro with the lack of USB ports! They’re just what I needed to plug my phone, external hard drive and other accessories into my new MacBook. These are amazing. The colour is exactly the same as the Space Grey MacBook and they’re made of metal so they feel really good quality. It’s a bonus that you getb2 in the pack too! It was also really easy to register for the lifetime warranty too! Transfer speeds so far are great, just what you’d expect and I can hardly tell there’s an adapter there. I would highly recommend buying these – I can’t believe they don’t have more reviews.

I purchased this so I could use my USB-A flash disk on my new MacBook Pro (USB-C).
It is very unobtrusive. What I like best is that it appears to have a very solid connection – none of that loose-fitting garbage. It seems to be very high quality.
