Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI have been hoping to buy this for a while, had heard great things about it from friends and I read reviews, some people said it was top heavy, well I am in my 60s and I have health issues and found it ok to use, the suction is absolutly amazing, I also read someone complaining the she couldnt get to the roller brush which is rediculous on the side is a peice that you just unscwrew with a coin very easy and then the brush just pulls out sideways, the easiest one I have ever had, personaly I think it is the best Hoover I have ever used.

Pros – works well on multiple surfaces, can turn attachment rollers on/off manually, large dust container, multiple batteries.
Cons – can’t buy replacement batteries, no anti tangle, have to put your hand in the dust chamber to empty it, very loud, difficult to clip/unclip different parts.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersHoover was easy to put together. The power suction was great,I have had a Shark and a Dyson, I personally think the suction is better on the Vax. Very impressed, the only thing is the hoover does not stand up on its own, but does come with a bracket and screws for wall mounting. Hoover does feel a little heavy but isn’t a real issue. Pleased with purchase and You Tube review was very good as well.

Battery life is a bit disappointing but get yourself another spare battery if you have a big house.

I’m impressed with the power from such a compact machine. I would recommend getting the two batteries if you want to use the turbo setting as that will drain it quite quickly. The flexible hose and aychments will be good for use in the car and on the stairs.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersWe bought this Vacuum Cleaner a couple of months ago and it’s so good, we won’t ever go back to a corded upright again.

It’s light, so beware! What I mean by that is, i was so used to having to pull a heavy upright about that when I switched to this, due to the design and weight distribution I was putting way too much effort into the back pull that I kept hitting whatever was behind me, mainly walls, and that funny bone stops being funny when you bang it off a wall a few times!

I like that you have different power settings, as a mainly wooden floored house with a few rugs scattered around it’s easy to adjust the power based on the surface your vacuuming.

Doing the stairs is very easy now, no lugging the big heavy upright. We bought the pet and car version so there’s a smaller set up which is just perfect for the staircase. It feels nice and sturdy, but is very light

We’re very happy with this product and I would definitely recommend i

This is a great design as a cordless stick hoover and all technical description of the product as advertised are accurate. The two batteries make this a cut above the rest having now ditched my clunky heavy Dyson which I have had for years. The price is good too and I really don’t think the Dyson price for their products are justified and welcome this new addition to the market. I only hope that I don’t have to eat my own words later on in the expected life of this new trial with VAX for the first time but so far very good but better suited for smaller houses and hangs on the wall and looks good.

Operates as described and generally a pretty good hoover. I would not be as generous as most other reviews as the battery time is nowhere near what the manufacturer claims so I’m glad I bought two batteries. Would otherwise be frustrating and inconvenient even if you have a medium sized house.
Emptying is a bit of a faff and you normally need to hover up again around the bin that you emptied into.
I’d go easy on wooden floors as it can leave the occasional light surface scratch which I have had to treat with worktop oil. That all said, it’s a major plus going cordless and the performance is overall good.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is a great hoover lightweight ease of moving turning etc, comes with two batteries which I thought wow that’s great but I know why and that’s because the batteries don’t last all that long when you have all three settings going as hoovering, however one battery usually does my small bungalow and I always have the second one charged if need it but I rarely do , the attachments that come with it is really good too for cars sofas and would be great for stairs too however I do not have stairs so can’t comment. Only thing is it says hair does not get stuck in the brush well it does but easily cut and pulled out after every session which isn’t bad to be far most hoovers always do this and I have super long hair so to be expected ! Overall it’s a decent reliable good hoover and I love i

This is the most powerful hoover I’ve owned in 40 years. The battery does one whizz round the bungalow modt times but really you ned the second battery. Its top heavy and you have to empty it most days or the suction drops. Excellent light and boost function. I do keep catching the on/off button which is annoying but I wouldn’t be without this hoover now. Vac just tweak it !

Golden Review Award: 24 From Our UsersI received this some time ago but I’ve been slow to get it out to try it. The reason being is that I have a Shark cordless vacuum which I love and it gets under every piece of furniture. I was afraid that I’d like this Vax but it wouldn’t get into all the tight spots and under my furniture in the same way that my Shark does. I knew I’d like it but wasn’t looking forward to having to decide on my new Vax or my Shark for it’s ability to get under everything. Today I took the plunge and unpacked the Vax (finally). It’s quite funny to see my Shark upstairs now as a spare vacuum. That’s how it is.
I’ve had four Dysons, and two Sharks over the last 10 years and this Vax has now taken first place. When I started to unbox it, I knew it would be taking charge of cleaning. There really is only one negative point (could be a deal breaker) but I’ll get to that later.
Quality of the plastic parts are very good. It isn’t cheap brittle plastic but instead it’s the smoother more softer feeling quality stuff. Two batteries are high 4.0Ah 72Wh and 18V compared to my Shark’s 2.4Ah 61.74Wh. OK, enough comparisons because there isn’t any, the Vax excels and this is about how good the Vax is.
So, two batteries and if you’ve owned a cordless before then you know it’s standard to need two batteries and if you purchase the second battery at a later date it costs far more. The accessories are just perfect and only what you need. I’d like to waffle on about everything I like about this vac’ but to be honest, being honest is best and saying that I’ve already moved the calendar, bought the correct size drill bit to fix the holder to the wall and made a place for the charger is enough to suggest it’s a purchase that will be used daily, and an essential appliance. It also fits under all my furniture which has made my day. Unfortunately I have just one negative point but it could be a deal breaker. My Shark just folds in half and stands up wherever you leave it. The Vax needs the plastic wall fixing to stand up. Not a problem for me (fortunately) but could be for some. You’ll need a drill and if drilling into masonry, a bit size of 5mm.
I’ve spent the last few years bigging up the Shark as I turned away from Dyson but now I’m turned to the Vax. They are a brand well known and I’ve owned a Vax shampooing machine years ago but I’d say they’ve stepped up their game enormously.
I recommend this vacuum now after a good comparison to my previous vacuums.
If my insight has been of any help, please hit the Helpful button, thank you.

5.0 out of 5 stars No reservations recommending this one

I have owned and used a Vax corded upright vacuum for a year or two and decided to go for the convenience of cordless. I have long been impressed with the build quality and value for money of Vax cleaners and this Blade 4 is no exception. The build quality is excellent, it feels solid and robust without being heavy and cumbersome. All the attachments fit well and they’re quick and easy to change. The battery life is more than sufficient to do my small bungalow, only using about half the capacity of the battery in one pass. The functional limit comes in the form of the small dust container. The machine appears to much more efficient than even the corded Vax that it very quickly fills up and needs to be emptied. This is no great problem as the container easily clicks off and back on. Everything seems to have been well thought out and executed. If there’s a serious problem, I haven’t found it yet! I really wish I’d bought one of these cleaners ages ago, it makes vacuuming almost a pleasure!

It’s not the lightest but boy it’s just fantastic. Simple instructions, glides along with ease and the light really helps. Best for carpets so I’ve kept my old Dyson Stick for the kitchen and bathroom hard floors…although this Vax Blade does the job well too. I can’t recommend this enough, a great buy!

I decided to invest in a decent cordless vacuum cleaner, after having a poor experience with a cheap model. I initially wanted a Dyson, but having read some reviews, it seemed they became decent, only if you are willing to shed 700 upwards! I then stumbled across the Vax Blade 4 range, which had a limited deal on its flagship model with a discount of 100. It was a no brainier to get this one. First of all it
Oozes quality, and picks up absolutely everything. My rug is a handmade woollen woven and extremely difficult to clean. This was purchased for my Mum who’s now getting on a bit and a little frail.

The vacuum easily suits her needs in a one story flat as it’s reasonably light (if a bit top heavy) with sufficient suction power to pick up the hairs her 3 cats leave on the carpet.

If easily moves from lino to carpet without losing suction and the turbo brush makes easy work of those areas that get a little more grubby.

With the added safety and peace of mind that Mum’s not going to get caught and trip over trailing cables this is ideal for a frail person whose sight and agility aren’t what they once were.

Would I recommend this product? Absolutely

I AM IN NO WAY AFFILIATED WITH THE MANUFACTURER OF ANY PRODUCT I REVIEW AND ALL MY REVIEWS ARE UNBIASED AND TRUE

The vac is versatile and powerful. The two batteries are very convenient and charge quite quickly. Kit came with large and small rotating brushes and a small nozzle so cleaning pet hair from the family car is easy.

Whilst the vac is quite light for a battery powered cleaner it is a little top heavy and needs to be in your hand or in the wall mounted holder when using the long tube (i.e. normal floor vac mode). If you prop it up against a wall for instance it can easily fall over. Having said that we love it.

I love the power of the machine when its fully charged and empty on plus power and spinning. It will remove the dust under your carpet too. Not so good on thin carpet tiles, you have to turn it down but itw easy done. I had the pet one 4Ah, was 279 with the 2nd battery and the small attachement for stairs. The only let down is the angle at which you have to use the small attachment. You have to hold it almost at 180. For an older person they may struggle but you can use all the bigger attachments on the smaller set up. Im always telling my friends to get one of these. I have a pet Gtech and this vax blows it out the water. I was impressed by the Gtech when i had it, nothing on the vax! Make sure to check its the powerone batteries as they sell this moddle with the older batteries for 180 odd. Well woth the other 100.

So I’ve only had this for a few days but so far I absolutely love it. Before this I had a bagless corded dyson.

This one is cord free and it is soooo much easier when going around the house. It’s also neat for storage.

It was very easy to click together. Easy to change the attachments and click the cannister of dirt on and off. Easy to figure out the batteries. I love things like this where I don’t have to read a manual to figure it out.

It has a normal and a sort of ‘turbo’ mode. Normal mode is fine for just a quick hoover round. Turbo mode is excellent for hair on the carpets.

It comes with a few attachments and I’ve tried the regular big head, smaller head and tube. The tube is great for going along skirting and getting into the corners.

The big and smaller head, they’re really good at getting everything off the carpet including hair which seems to get really worked into our carpets. They have circular brushes in and there are three girls with long hair in this house so long hair does get wrapped around those brushes. It’s not tricky to clear off though, a pair of scissors and a minute or two, now and then. For me, I’m just glad it sucks it up! The dyson didn’t, and left the carpet looking dirty for it.

I have a three bed house and one battery gets me around the house with a combo of regular and ‘turbo’ depending on the room I’m doing. But this comes with two, so if you just stick them on charge, you have more than enough battery power to get around.

I’ve used it for a few days and only just emptied the cannister. I guess it depends how much you have to hoover up but this seemed reasonable.

So altogether great so far and so sooooo much better than the clunky dyson, both for suction, light/mobility, storage, attachments, everything.

I have to say i do love vax cordless, and this is the second one i have had now. The first is still in use and used daily. One upstairs and one for down (i know but i have back issues lol).

The two batteries supplied are excellent, and although a run of about 30-35 minutes (longer on regular suck) on high suction power is not long, its so easy to keep a battery on charge that you can easliy switch them out if you still haven’t finished the job after the first one runs out.

I like the fact this one has the extendable pipe, more to help get in the nooks and cranny’s, its just an added bonus my other vax doesn’t have but is soo useful!, i use it regularly on the stairs.
I have a Rottweiler and whilst being short haired, she sheds constantly, i have the equivalent of a small dog every couple of days rolling around my home, especially ont he stairs!, and although i imagine long haired dog hairs are equally tiresome, i find with a Rotties fur is a little stiffer and so tends to stick in carpets a little more so. I have flat carpet on my stairs and so this vax has been ideal for the added suck and the nozzle and pipe use and i would definitely recommend it on that feature alone lol.

The vax has plenty of accessories and as usual i find myself wishing for better storage to keep the spare heads etc.. but there is a little holder that attaches to the stick part of the vac in which you can keep your main extra head, i keep my nozzle in this bit and keep a little drawstring bag hung next to the vac, hung on the same bracket but off to the side so losing a head is not an issue.

I would definitely recommend this vax. It is definite quality, have had for a number of weeks with no problems and i find vax so much easier to use with my back pain issues, its so easy to empty with the flip of a button, straight into the bin and i do tend to also give it all a god rinse through every so often (more because of the dog smell!), but this is also very easy to do.
    100% recommend.
It also arrives very well packaged and on time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easier to use with my back pain.

What I liked about it was that for a cordless vacuum it does have very good suction. It comes with lots of tools and the option of an extended guarantee. There is also a storage bracket if you wish to fix to the wall for easier storage as it won’t stand up on it’s own.

A tool bag would have been a useful addition for all the bits and pieces. It’s good that this model comes with 2 rechargeable batteries so one can be charging and ready to go. The vacuum has a + button for extra suction when needed. Of course using this option shortens the life of the battery but it’s not a problem as you have a spare battery.

What I didn’t like so much is that when you turn the vacuum on, you have to press a separate button for the brush roller to work. It would have been better if it came on automatically with the option to switch off if not needed. You can tell it’s really good at picking up dust and hair. The roller soon got covered in my hair, but there is a bit at the side that you can release the roller to remove the hair. When emptying the drum sometimes the dust and hair is a bit awkward to come out, but otherwise I was satisfied with the overall performance of the vacuum. Comes apart easily to vacuum the stairs too.

Firstly, this cleaner has really strong suction power, especially on boost mode.
I previously had the Vax Blade 3, which I loved. However eventually it just wore out, hence buying the Onepwr 4.
Thankfully, I bought the version which comes with 2 batteries. This was a good decision. In spite of the marketing material, the battery does not last for a full clean. And I should add that I live in a 2 bedroom flat and I don’t use bost on the hard floors, only the carpets.
The other slight negative is the filter and dust-bin. These are not very easy to empty and again, the info material suggests not necessarily emptying the bin each clean and only washing the filter every month I think. I’m quite particular, but I think you have to empty and fully clean out the bin every time you do a full clean. I also feel its good to wash the filter every other session.
However, the brush bar now releases easily with a large screwdriver (or a coin!), whereas the old one had 3 screws to undo. A good upgrade. Also the brush bar is much easier to clean (yes I also do that every session!) Hair comes off much easier.
Tools wise, the nozzle is a little better as its longer, so works better in the car. The other tools are OK.
Weight wise, its quite heavy on the wrist, but better than the old model and the switches are in a better position.
The main thing you need from a vacuum is the cleaning power. This definitely has it. But I feel it will only maintain that capability if you keep on top of the filter, bin and brush bar!
Members of my family have Dyson and Shark. In my view, the Vax is better, both on power and value.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI really didn’t think I’d ever say this but here we go – it’s a pleasure to do the vacuuming with this cleaner!
I’ve always had cylinder vacuum cleaners, I found them easier to do the stairs and they’d go under the sofa or dining table/chairs without any issues, and to be fair I was happy enough with the vacuum I had. It picked up ok and did a good enough job – or so I thought! This Vax has now put it to shame. I’d vacuumed 2 days before trying the Vax but if you’d seen the amount it picked up you’d think I hadn’t vacuumed in months! Well maybe that’s a slight exaggeration but it really shouldn’t have collected so much! I mean I’d just vacuumed a couple of days before! Wow. I’m impressed. Very impressed.
There’s a function to boost the power which is great on my rug, it fluffs up the pile beautifully. It can be used on hard floor as well as carpet with just as good cleaning results. The suction picks up between tiles with ease. It just glides across the floor, the head swivels to direct the cleaner wherever you want it to go. One of the best things – apart from its cleaning power – is how light it is to hold. Carrying a cleaner up and down the stairs isn’t fun, but this Vax can be held with one hand and carried up stairs with ease.
It’s also so light and easy to use when vacuuming the stairs, the attachments slot in and out quickly to get the job done. There’s a selection of different attachments included which make life easier, cobwebs up high can be sucked away as well as dust low down on the skirting boards. The pet tool is fantastic, I’ve got 2 cats, both are primarily indoor cats. I need a vacuum cleaner that’s going to keep my home clean from pet hair and dust which this Vax absolutely does achieve.
I love this vacuum cleaner. The battery needs charging before first using but once charged it lasts a considerable amount of time. I’ve used the cleaner to do the whole house twice (5 rooms plus staircase) and used in my lounge on three occasions – during all uses I’ve selected the boost function when needed. The battery is now low although not completely drained despite all the above mentioned times it’s been used. I’ve got the second battery fully charged ready to swap over when needed. The charging unit is straightforward to use, the battery sits in it and charges fully within a few hours. The charger is powered via an adapter which needs to be plugged into a socket.
I’ve told everyone who’ll listen about this cleaner! It really is that good. I’d certainly recommend it.

I’ve ordered this Vax Blade 4 Dual Pet & Car Cordless Vacuum Cleaner with Motorised Pet Tool as my ‘old’ vacuum cleaner doesn’t work properly.

Vax vacuum looks and feels well made from a good quality materials, sturdy and durable.
Arrived nicely presented/boxed with many accessories including 2 batteries, charger, motorised brush and flexible pipe.
It is made with attention to details.

It charges fast and keeps the charge well. On one charge it last me to vacuum clean on a daily basis for more than week. I have a 2 bedroom house, cat and dog.
I like that there are 2 batteries included in the set, so I will not stack with half cleaned house like with my previous cordless branded vacuum, which had only one battery.

Vax vacuum cleanes very well, suction is very good and steady.
It collects well all ‘dirt’ including my dog and cat fur even from the carpet.
In some places where my pet fur stack to the carpet I had to use a very powerful turbo mode. Usually normal mode is powerful enough to clean all debris in one go.
Turbo ‘eats’ battery much faster, but is very useful in some places.

It is the best cordless vacuum cleaner I had so far. I had two branded ones in the past and Vax is much better, more powerful and better designed.

I found this hoover very straightforward to use, but instruction manual is attached if needed.

It is so flexible that there is no place that it would not fit to clean and very light compared to my previous stick cordless vacuums, so I’ve even managed to clean corners of the walls close to the ceiling.
It didn’t have any problem to go/fit under my sofas.
I’ve also tried it in the car and must admit that it was pleasure to clean the car using this vacuum, as with my previous one I had to repeat movements in one place a few times to get rid of dirt/sand, Vax did it in one go saving me a lot of time.

I found this vacuum cleaner easy to keep clean and empty the dust container /can be removed and open with one hand/. Filter is reusable, easy to wash and dries fast.

I found it very comfortable to use as it is very light and collects dirt well, so I need only around 10 minutes daily to hoover the 2 bedroom house.

I’m very impressed with the excellent performance, practical design and build quality of this wireless Vax vacuum.
It is much better in every aspects than my ‘old’ noisy Samsung cordless vacuum, but a bit more expenisve, hovewer the quality and performance are worth it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Powerful and full of features.

Having had previous cordless vacuums, this is as good as any that I have tried. It is as powerful as any corded vacuum, especially if the ‘boost’ mode is used, when it is so powerful that it is actually difficult to push over a carpet.

I really like the appearance and build quality of this cleaner, it looks quite futuristic with nice clean lines and is built from good quality materials.

Like so many cordless vacuums the battery and motor are in the main unit at the top of the machine, this does mean that it is rather unballanced, but it is definitely better if it used for dusting around the top of walls, which would be impossible for a cleaner with the motor etc at the bottom.

On the subject of batteries, I really like that this comes with 2 batteries which between them give around 90 minutes of running, the addition of a separate charger means that the vacuum can continue being used whilst a bettery is being charged.

The powered brush heads mean that it is very effective at getting dust out of carpets, the large one is ideal for carpets and large areas and the small one is great for stairs or car upholstery, there are also a soft bristled dusting head and a crevice tool. The crevice tool is rather disappointing as it isn’t very long and as this is sold as a ‘pet & car’ cleaner, it could do with a longer crevice tool to get down the side of the seats etc.

fortunately the dust collection bin is quite big, because it is certainly very effective at getting carpets clean.

There are however a couple of minor issues with this, firstly although there is a plastic bracket supplied for hanging the cleaner on the wall (necessary because it won’t stand up, being top-heavy) there is nowhere to store the other accessories, it would also be useful if the charger was integrated into the bracket as well. Secondly, if they can supply a spare battery, why not a spare set of filters, as they have to be washed the machine is out of service until they have dried, which can take a couple of days. The third issue concerns packaging, I recently got a Vax carpet washer and that was packed in moulded cardboard, so I was very disappointed that this was packed in quite a lot of polystyrene, which our council can’t recycle, please change all your packaging to cardboard, Vax, it’s just as effcetive and a lot more eco-friendly.

So to sum up at a price of 369.99 it should be a very good vacuum cleaner, and it is, but a couple of silly issues which could be overlooked if it were a cheaper price, just stop it from getting 5 stars, although if I was just rating it on its cleaning ability I would give it the full complement of 5 stars.

The price quoted is correct at the time of writing. I hope that you’ve found this review interesting and helpful, if you have please consider giving it a ‘helpful vote’.

This is, I gather, a Which magazine best buy; and so it should be. For a cordless, it’s genuinely powerful and the power goes on and on with the battery lasting really well.

Another reviewer has claimed disappointment because this Vax is nothing like their mains powered vacuum cleaner. Well, we, too, own a Miele Cat & Dog, and what a fantastic vacuum the Miele is. But let’s consider. There is no question that this Vax cleans truly well, carpets, stairs, pet hair, the car, whatever. It really does genuinely do its job fully and properly. Is the Miele better? It’s more powerful, but it’s also way bigger and far less easy to use; and you need a mains socket and you have a trailing cord and a trailing vacuum cleaner. Does the Miele clean better than the Vax? Well — I suspect it might in some circumstances given the intense suction it has (there’s none better in my view); but in truth, clean is clean and the Vax cleans fully and properly.

As a comparison, the Vax has more suction that either our Dyson or our Bosch cordless cleaners, and way more than my son’s AEG cordless. In terms of suction, and, for the first time in reviewing and owning vacuum cleaners over many years, the flexible power hose on this Vax sets it apart. Finally, this attachment combined with the strong suction really does make it possible to put the mains powered vacuum away forever. With the flexible hose, the Vax becomes a powerful hand-held vacuum that will clean anywhere a mains-powered one will: car, sides of the chairs and settee, curtain tops – really it is that good.

Negatives? there’s one. It is quite a weight in the hand. But — and this is important — like our Dyson, it is very well designed so that it balances really well in the hand, so the weight isn’t a genuine issue. But, for some people, it might be. It’s a well made product in every way, fully equal to, well I think better than, our other two cleaners. It’s a premium product with a three year warranty. But those premium plastics and extra large battery do make it heavier. Keep that in mind if weight bothers you. It simply doesn’t worry me at all. With this the cleaning is quickly done and the cleaner then empties very easily, battery is swapped, and it gets put back on its neat wall hanger. All good. Genuinely — it really is all good.

My partner said I was too indecisive and spent too much time choosing a vacuum cleaner, but when I looked at the first trail result I knew it’s worth it!!!
I moved to a new flat and a friend lend their carpet cleaner and vacuum for me to use on the first day. It was nice to have the carpets cleaned and for the time being I needed to find and buy a new one. After returned three vacuums I become desperate because neither the suction / power was not good, too bulky, too heavy or couldn’t picked up stuff! I read someone says they don’t have a pet but still choose this one as it cleans better – so I thought this should work.
As you can see from the picture, it feels like the place has never been hovered before!! It’s not only lightweighted but super easy to handle! Omggg what an amazing result and I just love how deep clean it can clean up the house now! I felt it took me too long to finally found this and if you’re also a germ-phobia I just can’t recommend it enough!

    Too late!

We’ve never had a ‘stick’ hoover so I was really happy to test one out. The Vax Blade Pet cordless vacuum has caused alot of discussion in our house. I have arthritis and found the vax really easy to hold and use, I felt it didn’t feel too weighty in the hand, however my husband thought it felt heavy and he has no mobility/dexterity issues. When switched on with the brush spinning the vacuum moves easily both on carpet and granite flooring, I switched the brush off on the hard floors. The suction is excellent when the brush is spinning and I found it good on the hard floor too. However, my husband thought the suction wasn’t as good with the hand tools and he found them quite awkward to use. I would question the 45 minute per battery runtime, ours was fully charged yet probably only lasted about 30 minutes. This model comes with an extra battery which is why it is 369.99 compared to the Vax Blade 4 Pet & Car Cordless Vacuum Cleaner with Motorised Pet Tool – CLSV-B4KC which only comes with one battery, this model costs 299.99 and this is the only difference between the 2 models. The build is really solid and it is a nice design, the key question is….. is it worth 369.99. I think it’s quite pricey for what you get however the suction is good.

This is a great rechargeable vacuum cleaner. It is however a little top heavy to use as a “stick” cleaner. It also looks really smart.

The motor and the battery are both very heavy so mounting them right near the handle makes the whole machine feel top heavy, however, it does come with a flexible hose option which allows you to use it like an ordinary cylinder cleaner.

The main floor brush has a motor and lights, which does make it really effective, in a household with a long haired cat. The pipework carries the electricity to power the head, as well as the vacuum path.

Each of the 2 supplied batteries has a button to press, showing how much charge it has.

It picks up really well. It has 2 power settings, but even the lower one feels stronger than the most powerful cordless vacuum cleaner that I’ve used before.

I’ve been using this Vax Blade 4 Dual Pet & Car Cordless Vacuum Cleaner with Motorised Pet Tool — (CLSV-B4DC) for a few days now and these are my conclusions –

    Strengths

    – Looks/feels well made and supplied with wall bracket, accessory hose, dusting brush/crevice tool and caddy, motorised brush bar head, motorised pet tool, plus two batteries supplied (usable with other VAX One PWR products) and charger.

    – Clear user guide, plus 1 year warranty is extended by two years if you register and support is UK-based.

    – Suction and pickup is very good — my previous cleaner had obviously not been doing as good a job as I thought! The pet brush head works well on upholstery and stairs too.

    – Readily convertible for use as an upright or handheld cleaner and quite light (just over 3Kg) plus very quiet in operation. Conversion is easy

    – Controls are logical on/off, motor brushbar on/off (off is used for hard floors), boost switch and a 4 segment LED Battery indicator — the cleaner is intuitive to operate.

    – Batteries last a bit less than quoted, in a mixed cleaning session (with motor brushbar on 50% of the time) you’ll get 20-25 mins runtime but I find that enough for a 4-bed house and a second battery is supplied which is great.

    – The dirt canister is very easy to empty. Also, blockages are easy to clear if they arise as key parts of the cleaner unclip — a good design.

    – Brushes are easy to clean. Also, if the main motorised brush head gets fouled a red LED comes on and you have to reset it to prevent damage.

    – Uses no consumables — the main filter can be cleaned under the tap.

    – Batteries are easy to swap and apart from the charge indicator on the cleaner have their own integral power indicator. The charger is also compact and takes 2.5 — 3 hours to charge a flat battery.

    Areas for development

    – Battery life reduces significantly when the motorised brush tools are used.

    – In upright mode the cleaner isn’t free-standing like some other cordless cleaners I’ve used, plus the wall bracket is a bit flimsy. Also, the upright tube can’t be adjusted for height and for me (5ft 7″ tall) it feels as though it’s designed for someone a bit taller.

    – The dust canister is transparent showing all the dirt from your home, a bit of a tint might make it more subtle.

Overall, this is a quiet, powerful and versatile cordless vacuum cleaner with a reasonable run time that seems well-built plus it comes with a second battery and doesn’t use consumable filters etc. I like it a lot.

This is our 2nd Vax vacuum, having up-dated to this latest version. Lightweight and versatile, cleans everywhere without having to move everything. Must be sure, though, not to let the dust collector get over full. The suction is amazing but debris starts to back up if you don’t empty it regularly and thoroughly.

Stuff you Dyson stick. This sucks the carpet off the floor. Great on the stairs too. Easy to assemble and use. Easy to empty and is relatively quiet. The cat however dislikes it even more than our corded Hoover. Cant get out the house qick enough. Weighs very little too.

Does what it says. Suction was much better than I’d imagined, even in its normal mode. The only thing is it’s a pretty hefty unit up top, so if you don’t have much arm/upper body strength you may struggle to vacuum for more than 10-20 mins.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersWe had a Dyson V10 which was obviously substantially more expensive than this and was OK but like most manufacturers their claims for battery life was a JOKE so when the battery died, we were torn between buying a battery or an alternative cleaner and when this was only 207 with two batteries I decided to take the gamble.

Being totally honest the build quality is not to Dyson standards BUT neither is the price as the Dyson was almost two and a half times the price with one battery, the most important thing is, does it work and will it last ?

Even though I believe the build quality isn’t the best I do believe its fit for purpose and will give a good service life as for performance it FAR FAR outweighs the Dyson, the battery last twice as long and you can change it when required rather than wait for it to recharge. The suction is brilliant and more powerful than the V10 ever was. Its an absolutely brilliant machine and I am 100% I will be buying Vax in future as we have a Vax carpet washer as well and its shared by the whole family and its done a mountain of work trouble free.

I have read some 1* reviews saying the suction is poor which I don’t understand, the balance/weight I can understand as after using the Dyson it doesn’t feel as balanced but after a week or so we preferred it as the increased performance is just what we need and now we wouldn’t go back and have given our Dyson away.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersReally loving this … we’ve got carpet and some wooden floors, plus some tiled areas. This works perfectly, and so far the two battery packs work fine, you just have to remember to charge them after use. Easy to clean out and easy to separate the top half for stairs. There is a very effective light on the front which means that you can see into dark spaces under furniture etc., plus it folds quite flat for cleaning under beds. Fairly quiet. We are replacing a very tedious Miele that is also a bag free model, but heavy and awkward to use in small spaces, and although it still works is no comparison to the Vax design. Considered the Shark but opted for the Vax which so far is brilliant.

Golden Review Award: 33 From Our UsersOkay, this was a replacement for a product I had used for a week and a few days earlier. I had ordered a Honiture 26Kpa 147 which was a good product, I did leave a good review but sadly the battery died so I choose to add some extra and get a better product.

Why VAX ONEPWR Blade 4 Pet Dual Battery? I have no pets but have historically found that pet editions of cleaning equipment a just designed better and have better features. I read reviews and watched on YouTube etc, the Blade 4 was good but the pet edition has TWO batteries for a little more cash, this is well worth the investment.

So, I give the battery a charge and have a try (remember that I had been using the other vacuum twice a day every day) Well, it was like I hadn’t vacuumed for months! The Vax (when on full power) digs deep and really does an excellent job. I received this product yesterday and have used it a LOT! It is still pulling dust from my carpet and its amazing to see, the first few vacuums shows all the bits and bobs, dirt and general dust, then you find that the colour is changing as this is getting all the fine dust that has been in the carpet for months, years?

The Vax ONEPWR Blade 4 Pet Dual Battery is well worth the money if you want a real deep clean.

Its easy to disassemble, clean and pop back together, nice and easy.

Cons? Well, the battery life is very limited if you use the brush and high power. But, you have two batteries, so not awful, its okay. The roller stops in minutes so it must be really frustrating if you have only the one battery!

Its quite heavy but easy to use, I would highly recommend this product but be careful, you will just become addicted to seeing the change on your vacuum contents!

    Stay safe my friends

I must say this is the best hoover we have ever had the suction power is second to none still as good as the day we bought it. The pet suction tool is fantastic and gets rid of pet hairs with ease. The best thing is the battery lasts enough time for me to hoover the house and also compatible with other vax products so 1 battery fits all.

Love this product, however everything can be improved upon. My wife finds it a little on the noisy side with motor engaged on a wooden floor. I would prefer to see “in holder” charging. Apart from those few improvements it is a truly exceptional cleaner.

Bought this to replace our Dyson that had died, I was worried it wouldn’t match up to the Dyson but in fact we find it’s better. The suction power is excellent and it does have a booster button, although we don’t tend to use that much as we have laminate flooring everywhere, but it comes in handy on the rugs. I also like the fact it comes with 2 batteries, so you can always have one charged up to use when the other one runs down. It manages to hoover the whole house on one battery but if you have carpet and need to use the booster button more frequently you may need to put the spare battery in, depends on if you have pets. It is a bit heavier than our Dyson was, but not drastically so.

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersVery handy for quick clean ups but it’s not going to be able to replace the main vacuum (a ‘Henry’) for bigger cleaning jobs.
On tiled floors it tends to either push larger things around or flicks them out the back if the brushes are running. Perhaps I still don’t have the right technique or maybe I’m using the wrong setting. It got quickly blocked up when cleaning fallen pine needles from the tree – no such issue with the Henry though…..

    On carpets it’s fantastic.
At full power the battery drains pretty quick – maybe 10-15 mins, so better to have a second battery available. Change over is quick and easy and the recharge time seems really good.

Even acknowledging the above limitations I would still recommend as it’s far easier to clean up a small area quickly than having to get a wall powered vacuum out. With this it’s done in a couple of minutes.
If you keep on top of the little spills etc then this vacuum is ideal and well priced compared to some of the competition.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGreat vacuum cleaner for my hard floors because you can set the motorised brush on in each suction power.Extra battery is a blessing.I was just disappointed that the crevice tool was not in the actual package from the vacuum cleaner(box was not sealed) and the tool was not in it.

Golden Review Award: 30 From Our UsersAfter owning 4 stick vacuum’s i have to say this is the best by far. I have owned it just over a week and the other three vacs are from a slightly lower price range but i have to say there really is no comparison!. I have never known a cordless suck so well!.
It arrived neatly and securely packaged via Amazon delivery with all parts and an instruction booklet, it’s not the best booklet and is more picture instructions but it does suffice.
Supplied with two batteries and a charger which seems to turn itself off when finished charging.
The first time charge did take around 3 hours but once the batteries have had their first charge it does seem a little quicker thereafter, and it’s really just getting into a habit of swapping them out as needed, i always put mine straight on charge once dead and put the new one straight in the vac ready for next time.
The suction on this thing is nuts to be honest! I have a large shag-pile rug and a Rottweiler (disaster waiting to happen!..), i had thought the rug was pretty clean until i gave it a going over with this vac.. and had to change the drum 3 times.. no fault of the vac, the drum is a decent size, bigger than on my other vacs but that’s how much this thing sucks, it sucked stuff out of that rug i had no idea was in there..(oh the shame!) but still truly amazing knowing i can safely get rid of what the dog leaves behind (fur and dust..hopefully) from now on. lol.
The only slight annoyance with this is inside the drum at the back where the lid is hinged there is a plastic hook (i tried to show this in the pics), i can see no reason for this hook, possibly to help steady the lid, but hair and dust kept getting stuck on it, it was fine once cleared and could possibly just be because there was so much debris that being a first time use it was just getting full very quickly, i haven’t really had any bother with it since and it is one of the easiest stick vacs to empty, no fiddly buttons to grapple with, just one click and the drum comes loose to open and empty (the picture with my hand is me trying to show you the button you click to unhinge the drum from the stick), it is all relatively straight forward. There are arrow stickers when the vac arrives which you need to pull off before use, which tell you mostly everything needed to know.
The batteries last around half an hour to 35 minutes on minimum suction, around 20-25 minutes on full and there is also a handy light that comes on when you press the button with ‘arrows’ on. There is also a ‘+’ button obviously for extra suck.
I would definitely recommend this vacuum. It’s become invaluable in my house. Picks up brilliantly and with the extra tools : a smaller head for things like upholstery (i also use mine on my stairs), and a nozzle and a small round soft bristled brush too.
It’s the suction and the extra battery that really makes this thing a winner in my opinion.
Excellent product and not too bad a price for what it is.
This vac arrived well packaged and earlier than estimated delivery time.
I hope you found this review helpful.

    great!
