The Vax Air Lift Steerable Pet is the UK’s light corded lift-out† upright vacuum cleaner. It has all the power of a Vax Air upright with a lift-out cylinder for areas you can’t usually reach. Very good hoover, very good suction for pet hair has turbo mode too, only minus is its very heavy.
Very good suction, easy to assemble and use. Only bad thing is the hair wrapping round the bar – someone needs to invent something to stop this bit other than that it’s a great hoover.
Such good suction would definitely recommend. Always fills up with dust and dirt even when carpets and floors don’t look that bad.
This thing is a beast . Never gives up . Sucks up the rug it is so powerful . I like the cut out to the brush if something tangles (excellent feature) hoover with your normal hoover then use this bad boy . See the stuff that comes up . I like the cylinder detaches from the whole machine to carry for stairs etc . Ferrari of hoove
I had the previous model to this as such and power was absolutely phenomenal.
My partner couldn’t use the U88 model so we bought this one instead this is ideal for our use.
The only criticism I have is the power lead connection to the Hoover is in the wrong place apart from that I can’t fault it hoover is a hoover.

Absolutely fantastic hoover feels very sturdy and has a little wieght to it. It glides very easy and the steering is excellent easy to get under tables chairs etc. You can stop the brushes from rotating and have just suction. The pipe has great stretch to it and the accessories are great. The suction can also be adjusted via a little plate above the brushes. The only thing is the little stairs attachment its brushes spin due to the suction and if you don’t hold it correctly as the suction is strong these brushes stop spinning. Overall I love this hoover no problems at all lifting everything ….
This a replacement for first which i ordered in silver and blue…but replaced with black and blue one, replaced as hoovered first bit carpet fine. But as soon as hit small rug it broke down green light went to red … did everything it says to do but never fixed problem so had send back …So ended up just removing the rug rather than it happen again … suction is great but dog hairs do get tangled in brush a lot so if doing whole house have keep pulling off brush as go along.. never had this problem with other hoovers .. it is nice and light and great for stairs with not having take whole hoover with you …

I have 2 labradors and this vacuum is great for lifting their hairs. The light section for cleaning stairs is amazing. We had guests staying with long hair and it would have been better with anti hair wrap technology as I spent a while with scissors. But not a huge issue as household all have short hair. Dogs both still hate the noise all vacuums make
I’m going to be honest and say I personally think it’s not too bad at all. It’s not quite got the suction of dyson machines (personal observation) but it really is a very good machine for the price and also very light

Bought this hoover to replace a Dyson we had, which was good but a bit awkward to use. Was caught between buying a well known brand (for 300) or this, and decided to give this a go. Really impressed with this so far, one month in. Suction good, easy to use, and very versatile. Only challenge was the manual (which could have been clearer), but have got everything working now so that’s no bother at all. Well recommended, particularly for the price

It really exceeded my expectations for the price. I can’t think of a negative, I have a small cottage and this vacuum cleaner is perfect for my needs.
Never have carpets had such a through vacum, such a dynamite machine. Even felt air quality in house much improved. Concur with other reviews on hose connection, bit on short side, but once you develop a knack in using, suction power and value for money, well worth purchasing.

This is my second Vax. I bought a well known Brand of cordless vacuum and was so disappointed by the lack of suction and run time. I went back to a Vax and am delighted with the difference it has made to my Carpets. Extra long lead is fab. They’ve improved the design of the cannister meaning it’s so much easier to get on and off. Lightweight and powerful and simple. Everything you need and nothing you don’t. Just buy it.
Way better than previous VAX vacuums that ive had. Design as improved. Nice little details like a place to clip the cable at the top of the handle, the clable now wraps on the side and it hangs from the top, being able to detach the hose on the bottom and in the middle is really nice. Being steerable improves the hiuse cleaning so much. Still a pain to clean the roller from all the hairs that get tangled there but thats normal for this tipe of hoover.. very powerful.
Had a vax before, changed to Hoover, but bought this for suction power as have 4 cats, bit awkward on the stairs as not sure which way to hold or in which hand to be able to use, but is better than stretching the hose up a whole flight of stairs that doesn’t quite reach the top, and lightweight to carry glides easily, and love the fact you can run it along the base edges of kitchen units and you get right to the edge, cat hairs sucked up no issues, love a vax….
Wow!! I thought my carpet was clean until I tried this amazing cleaner. After juat a few minutes the container was a quarter full of fluff and dust which the old cleaner refused to move. Also the lead length is more than ample to reach around my small 1 bed flat without changing plugs! Really impressed and surprisingly good value (also monthly payment options). What is not to like!!!
Bought as a replacement for a Shark Pet vacuum cleaner that struggled to pick up on hard floors. This Vax is a godsend and now makes me realise just how naff our Shark was. This vacuum does equally well on carpets as well as hard floors, picking up even large bits of food/stones. Only complaint is that it is a noisy vacuum cleaner, especially when the front roller is activated on carpets. Still would recommend as very good suction.
This hoover is excellent. The first one I received had a faulty clip and Claire on the customer service chat was very helpful. Replacement sent in 2 days. My rugs look new! Great attachment for pet hair. Definitely recommend.
Extremely impressed with the vax, just on first use I could see how badly my old hoover wasn’t working, options for hard wood or carpets with or without brush use too, different hose lengths too so you can choose which length you need to use and no bulky hoover to lift when doing stairs just unattach the middle section with one button and take it with you leaving the stand behind, amazing…… Can really tell you’re getting old though when you get excited over a vaccum cleane

This vax is really good, good suction but I’ve only given it 4 stars because when using the extension handle, the whole of the unit seems to topple on to the side when stretched!
This vacuum cleaner is good, quite heavy to move around and also when separated to clean the stairs the unit is also quite heavy. The actual suction power is very good, better that my old Dyson. The only other slight negative is that hair is constantly found wound around the rotating brush bar and has to be manually cut away after each use. Overall 4 out of 5
cleans and lifts the pile really well, better than a well maintained hoover whirlwind which had a new beater bar! also a lot quieter than previous vacs. The whole cleaning unit lifts away from the frame to make stairs easy and much safer than a whole teetering machine!
2 issues though, the cable is really thin and light and twists/knots easily. not the kind you can wrist flick out of the way as not weighty enough. I got the air lift pet model and there is no where to store the mini roller head on the machine??? guess it has to live in a cupboard , a trek to get it if you need it to hand.
overall for 120 its a good cleaner and a defo improvement even though i had initial doubts with the much lower power than the old days.
So far very pleased with this. Very powerful suction. Not too heavy (for me at least). Was initially disappointed there wasn’t a flexible brush head for the hose to clean under the bed – until I discovered the main brush head could do the job anyway as it’s gimballed such that the body can lay almost flat on the floor when in use! Only used a few times, but so far recommended…
An excellent vacuum cleaner. I go through a lot of vacuum cleaners this one is brilliant I’ve had a Dyson but this one is a lot better definitely recommend
This is my second one after about 15 yrs with the previous one. It’s got a great upgrade of ball movement, the suction is terrific, picking up hair from 3 dogs. Better use of extra tools as well make this a 5 star hoover.
Amazing for cleaning up hair, I have a dog who malts a little and my previous hoover must have just moved the dirt around because we had to empty the drum 3 times before we had finished the living room.. Its honestly amazing the pictures attached are the before and after of the hallway which is where the hair accumulates. It’s honestly like I’ve had new carpets
This hoover is exllent overhall the suction power is unbeatable. The only down side i would say is that its a bit heavier than expected but gives it a premium sorta feel. The steering feature is good for around tite corners flows effortless and way the brushes underneath works amazing. Iv had alot of hoover over the years even hendry but i find hendry a bit of a pain dragging about all the time with the hose not only that the suction is no where, i mean no where compared to this or any othe rhoover iv had. The tools are great for around skirting but i feel like the hole could be a bit longer as the hoover keeps tipping over which cna be a pain a bit. Overhall great hoover for the price.
This is the best hoover on the market 100 % and I have tried very expensive brands before. Ladies this hoover is so light and manoeuvrable it’s unreal ! You can adjust settings for suction for diffident floor types and the cable is not heavy either ! It’s very easy to use it on stairs and you only take part of the hoover with you . You will not be disappointed and what’s even better for it dose it cost fracture what other brands are charging. Highly recommend
I can’t believe how good this Vac is, having used it, it tells me how poor my old Vac was. I have a very hairy Dog and it picks up the Hair very well with no Hair wrapping round the roller, No need to spend double the price for a specialist Pet Vac this one does it all.
This is a very good vacuum. So easy to maneuver and empty. Great that it comes apart to do stairs so no struggling to balance it. Great suction. Good sized cord. Also has a couple of handy attachments.

Purchased because an old Vax had died. I read lots of reviews and decided to give this one a try. I have to say that I’m impressed with it. It was easy to put together. It is also easy to use and has good suction. Having a long haired dog it really needed to prove itself on its suction power. I’m happy with all the attachments and the action of the ‘slide’ vent depending on whether you are on carpet or hard floors. It is simple enough to empty. I haven’t yet used it on the stairs, but another of the selling points for me was that you could remove the cylinder from the main machine housing, what a great idea! I also like that the handle is the hose for ceilings etc.
I have a upright vax quite a old one but still really good. I started work full time and bought a cordless Vax which is good as well.l used it as my main vacuum for the last 18 months. We then bought a new lounge carpet which is a yeah old now l noticed the cordless vax was not picking up as good.l decided to buy a new vacuum a corded one.l fancied a Shark or Dyson so read the reviews as l scrolled through the reviews l noticed that the comments were not singing the praises of either brand. I decided on this vax. What a revelation it is easy to set up.it is a little heavier than the old vax upstairs. The bedroom carpet is 18 years old and this new vax lifted the pile you can actually see where l hovered.The lift away is so good .l love my new Vax.
This is one of the best vacs I’ve ever had , the suction is amazing and brings my carpets up like new, excellent for stairs and upholstery, I’ve literally bought 4 of these over the last couple of years as gifts as I have carers aswell as my daughter and family and everyone loved the hoover.

With two dogs in the house I needed an effective hoover. I had a shark, not powerful enough so I’ve opted for a plug in vax. Good decision, it is much more powerful and picks up not only dog hairs but dirt and dust. I agree that the machine is made of brittle plastic but I just take a little bit of care when I am operating it, especially when I am detaching the body for stair cleaning. I would say this machine is good value for money but a little too plastic.
