Perfect for my needs, sits in the ‘D’ door lock mechanism ans is a great aid to use for getting myself out of the car, before was a bit of a struggle with only the door handle to use, but now I use both it’s much easier to get out of the car.
Works ok on car and moterhome replacements for my original damaged when door slammed shut.

This device is a genuine boon for people with disabilities, such as my wife, who need extra support for entering and leaving a car.
My wife and I both have hip problems, when my wife’s right hip was replaced it was invaluable to help her her in and out of the car and far cheaper than a crane or pulley and chains. We also bought one for our daughter after her hip surgery.

I was finding my Honda Civic a bit low, and as my arthritis worsened, I was having difficulty getting in and out. This product is excellent, and has solved the problems for me. As I have friends who also have mobility problems, I bought 2, one for each side of my car. I would definitely recommend this product.
This is ideal for my husband to use to get out of the car, rather than pulling on the top of the door, which is not good in the long term for the car hinges. The integral light will only be used if we have dropped anything when it is dark. Our car, like many others, when you open the door the lights come on so you can see where to put the assist handle.

Such a simple idea and so easy to use. Fits well into the door lock loop and allows considerable downward force to be used when getting in and out of the car. Has made car journeys so much easier for my elderly mother and my father-in-law, who struggle particularly with standing up from a low car seat. Wouldn’t be without it.

I own a Ford Focus 2019 and the assist handle would not fit into the door striker correctly . I had to grind quite a bit off for it to fit into the door striker correctly . Apart from that issue it is grea

I bought this for my elderly father who was very sceptical about how it would work. He is now a convert! It greatly improves his ability to get out of the car, it is sturdy and strong, giving Dad more confidence in his movements. The safety aspects of the built in torch, hammer and knife make it useful to carry in the car, more of a multipurpose item.

We have a Crossland X & unfortunately we had to return this product. Maybe a list of vehicles this will fit would be a great idea. Price & speed of the delivery was very good.

Main problem with this was it didn’t fit a C5 CITRON so gave it to a friend.
My husband told me not to bother to get one of these but he is so pleased I did. Very easy to use, even has a light, seat belt cutter and part can break glass if in an accident.

I got this for my grandmother as she finds it difficult to get herself out of my car. This is a great tool, it’s sturdy, has a seatbelt cutter, a hammer incase you need to smash your window and a light. The only drawback is that the light flickers and isn’t that strong.
This works wonderfully well. A couple of my old mates had difficulty getting in and out of the car. This gave them something to work against to maneuver themselves in and out. A little more self reliance and dignity I feel.
The torch and safety belt cutter built in may never be used.

I’m a taxi driver and it’s a god send… Unfortunately had to send this back, doesn’t fit on a citreon berlingo..I thought it looked thinner than the one I own already,.. Such a shame as it really does help.. I used it with skoda and passats.. Waiting on refund..
Bought this for my 83-year-old dad who has recently been finding it hard getting out of cars (especially cars with low seats). This has turned out to be a great tool for helping him out of the car. It’s very portable meaning he just keeps it in his rucksack or jacket pocket until needed. He’s very pleased with it and couldn’t do without it now.
A Place to call home has captured the nation, as it is brilliant. Storylines excellent. Acting superb. I have found it addictive and now that series 5 has finished I am bereft. My afternoon was full of anticipation as to the next episode.
Hoping there is a sixth series.Have bought the box sets available and friends and family have borrowed them as I have been so full of praise for the series. My favourite actor is Jack. He is definitely a thinking womans male crumpet.
The parts that concentrated on those returning from POW Japanese camps made me realise how badly our Australian cousins fared and must have been horrific for them. We will forever be indebted to them for pitching in and helping us in our hour of need.

Gave this to my sister after she broke her leg and she loves it. I had been given one by another sister following my knee surgery and I still keep it in the car for days when I feel a bit stiff.
My father loves the versatility of this tool. Initially brought to help him out get out of a car, it works by the way which is excellent on its own but he also loves the fact he can break windows with the tool and cut his way out of his seat belt using the gadget!
I bought this to help my sister get out of my car and she finds it very beneficial when using the front passenger seat. I drive a Toyota Aygo and the positioning of the d-ring for use with the back seats is not suitable due to the d-ring on the car being quite high. Obviously this is not the fault of the car cane but it does limit its use. I hope never to need the window breaker or the seat belt cutter but it is reassuring to know they’re there in case of emergency.

Wow what an excellent item. My elderly mother always struggles getting in and out of the car so when I saw this on a Facebook ad I checked if Amazon had it in stock which they did so ordered it.
Arrived same day and was put to good use immediately and mum got the hang of using straight away. Helped her in and out of the car, getting out was the biggest win and I no longer have to help her so can be getting her walker out of the boot whilst she gets out of the car.
Easily interchangeable with other cars.

Getting a pack of two is very useful as both my husband and I sometimes have problems getting out of car on a slope! Friend was struggling to get in and out of the car (passenger) with only his two sticks so let him try this and he loved it. Gave him much more confidence and ditted his car very well . . . so well in fact I haven’t the heart to ask for it back yet!
I bought this for Christmas as I knew my father was going to have a hip operation in the new year. This got delayed a bit hence delay in review. He has found it very helpful for his recovery and has allowed him to go out and about in various cars while he recovers as he can get in and out much more easily. He has carried it with him everywhere and used it on taxis, friends cars as well as my own. Such a clever idea.
This was wanted for a Dacia Sandero, which was not on the ‘slim list’ but when it came it was too big. High Street TV were a pleasure to deal with and paid the postage for the return and then sent out the slim one as a replacement. I have had to put sticky padded rounds around where it slots onto the car otherwise it would scratch the paintwork as there is some movement still. But it really helps my mum get out of my car whereas she was really struggling without it so worth all the extra effort to get it righ
After travelling in my brother’s car and hurting his back, my father refused to get into any car. As there was a family event that I wanted to take my fther to, I purchased the Car Cane and kept my fingers crossed. It arrived the next day and I got my brother to try it out. Bought this for my 81 year old Mum who has arthritis and has a bit of trouble getting out of the car. It fits the lock on my Honda Jazz perfectly without scratching paint and is easy to do. She finds it very helpful to lean on when getting up. I think she was a little sceptical at first but the product has won her round. Very well made and strong. Comfortable in the hand.
Already have found this useful for my elderly father to transfer from a wheelchair into the passenger front seat. I keep the handle in the door so its handy to grab and fit to the door locking bracket. One drawback is it can only fit in one way (that is toward the front) it would have been useful to be able to put in the bracket at a 90 degree angle to allow another option to reduce the restriction when aiming for the seat. This drawback may only be applicable on certsin vehicles.
This has proved to be useful in helping my 92 year old dad get out of my renault scenic . he doesnt use it to get into the car though . it’s well made and feels strong enough for the job … it also has a seat belt cutter (in case of accident) and also can be used to break glass in an emergency.
Bought for my Father in Law, who is having mobility issues right now. He were skeptical of its use because (I think) he’d not seen it advertised or demonstrated anywhere. But after trying it out he is thrilled with it!! He’s now finding it very useful and its a huge help with getting out of his car, whereas before he had the Car Cane, he were really struggling in and out of his car. Bought this to aid mother in law in and out of our car after recent hip replacement surgery. It made things a lot easier for her, not having to grab on to someone’s hand. It gave her the confidence to try and do it herself. Great buy. Keep in our car as it is also a handy torch and hammer for smashing window in an emergency. Hopefully will never have to do the latter but a torch is handy anytime.

Bought for my Nan who’s been struggling to get in and out of the car. This came quickly and is lightweight and simple to use. She likes the torch feature and thought the seatbelt cutting option was a novel idea although she hopes she’ll never have to use it! It seems to be sturdy and I believe she is getting on with it ok.
After watching an advert on television I thought I would give it a try. I have mobility issues and often struggle getting out of a car and my husband gives me a hand. This Car Cane is quite substantial and it serves more than one purpose. It has a very handy torch, a seat belt cutter and in an emergency it can be used to break glass. This device helps me to get out of a car independently which really helps me feel better mentally as it is something I can do myself.
The quality of the product was good however, it was not made clear when ordering that there are two sizes available. The unit purchased did not fit my Peugeot and consequently the product was returned for credit. The ordering section needs to highlight what vehicles the standard unit does not fit.

Bought the car cane to help my folks get in and out of my car. My folks are 91 and 96 both have mobility issues and have to be transferred to the car from a wheelchair. |It does help even though my Dad tries to stick in his bum if I don’t get it out of the way in time!
Does an excellent job. Tried out on three older folk of varying abilities and all thought it was a great help. That said, it would have felt a little more secure had the blade been wider to prevent/reduce movement when in use, even though it can’t get out of the door catch bracket on the car. The safety hammer aspect is a good idea but the torch is a bit naff unless you’re in pitch darkness, when it’s better than nothing! If you think you might find one useful, don’t hesitate – it will be!
I was unsure about this product , I thought it might bend under my weight or scratch the car paint work , maybe just a bit of a gimmick .
Well I can tell you , I could not have been more surprised handles my weight with ease , the paintwork of the car is untouched and this gimmick , has proved so good , that I wouldn’t be without one . I just brought two as both my wife and I are disabled and have problems ( and pain ) with getting into our car ie a Astra F model. These handy little gadgets help a lot with getting into the seat ie I used to just fall into it before and with having REAL back problems that HURT !!,but now I can just lower myself down into the seat ” bliss” lol. And what with the belt cutter and window breaker it’s great. I know that I could have brought a cheaper model but it’s MY back and OUR lives on the line and the idea was to get the best that I could find. Pleased. bob
Bought for a passenger who struggles to get in and out of cars, she could use it and she stated that it did assist her getting out of the car, however when we tried to use it to assist her getting into the car she was so close to it that we thought she may fall against / catch on it so have decided just to use it when getting out; which is enough for us to be happy with the purchase.
I am severely disabled, the people shown in the adverts look to myself pretty agile by comparison. Nevertheless the Car Cane has provided me with the type of support for getting in and out of any car that is invaluable. One of my sons has a small car and it has been a struggle (putting it mildly) getting in and out of it, another has a high van that on the rare occasions I have been in it, can’t get in without a lot of help. I couldn’t be without it now. Such a simple thing but totally invaluable. The inventor is worthy of a gold medal. 🙂
I’m sure this is very good – I bought it for my partner who has a bad hip and is also very tall, so struggles to get in and out of conventional cars. However by the time it arrived he had decided to go and buy a SUV which is very easy to get in and out of: only a small difference in price LOL.
Does exactly what is needed for my elderly passengers, and the torch has already come in useful more than once. Deducted one star because it DOES NOT FIT ALL CARS – especially some French makes. I am not affected but a friend who intended to buy one found it did not fit his Peugeot.
I bought this for my father in law who has really bad knees. He didn’t seem that thrilled when we gave it to him and I think he thought we had wasted our money, we did think he wouldn’t use it from his reaction. A month on and he commented it’s been a god send, his words not mine. He did struggle getting out of the car and this just gives him a helping hand.
i have trouble with my knees and getting out of my car is a bit difficult but with the car cane i find it a lot easier, i normally have to grab the door and pull myself out but if it’s been raining the door can be a bit slippy now with the car cane it’s no problem

Happy with the build quality, the fit into my cars lock is a bit loose which does not help with mothers confidence so I will have to make a sleeve or give it a wrap a few turns of Duct tape just to stop any movement.
These are great little helpers. Both my wife and I suffer from the arthur i tus and other ailments including advancing age. These are sturdy, well made implements that really do help with getting out of the cars. They work especially well for getting out of the x type jag which is quite low. The seatbelt cutter is a nice addition should there ever be an accident and it appears that the pointed end would be strong enough to allow one to break a window, should the need arrise. Overall we are very happy with these gadgets and have recommended them to our friends
Excellent product, well designed good quality. Small problem to me was that the lock insert was 1mm too big for a Smart car lock catch. Being an engineer, no problem, reduced insert size by 1mm by gently grinding. Works perfectly. Supplier should update instructions accordingly, to highlight Smart car incompatibity.
