I only buy these because I have a hive hu, I like to keep things the same and you can control everything from within their app.
Managed to get this for a sale price. Works well with our Hive system. Used it for the Christmas lights. Easy to use with the App and would buy again.
A bit pricy but you get what you pay for.
Bought this to be able to program the turning on and off of a electric heater in a small room without central heating. I only need it to turn on automatically for about half an hour in the morning, and can override the program if I want it on again later by using the push button at the front. It forms part of my Hive system and is programmable or simply controlled from my phone or Echo dot.
Really easy to set up. Smart looking. Extremely handy, I use it for my Oil filled radiators in my conservatory, I can turn them on and off so my conservatory is nice and warm by the time I get home from work Works really well with Alexa

Great for the slow cooker when in work. Set it up the night before, load up the cooker next morning and when you’re in work just turn it on. Dinner ready for when you get home.
Wanted this to control a bedroom lamp – easily integrates with Alexa so we now have voice control of the lamp as well as remote vie the Hive app.
Got as a free add on but really useful, I can switch my lights on before entering the house saving bungling around for switches with arms of shopping bags
Setup was dead easy. We used this to control the christmas lights with this plug situated in the garage. The relatively weak wifi signal was no problem for it and we were able to control it via the Hive app. I ended up setting a schedule for the lights to come on around 4pm and off late in the evening. Since we put the xmas lights away the plug is now controlling a standard lamp in the lounge, controlled via Alexa 🙂
Best timer ever owned, easy to set up and works fine. Automatic but very easy manual on/off via button switch. Would have been nice to have a multiple buy offer price, I would replace all my old timers if this was on offer. Highly recommend.

I can only give this item 4 star The product is good, but on a few occasions it doses it’s own thing. It will turn off unexpectedly and shut down the item connected to it.
We love these plugs. We use them mainly for various lamps scattered around the house. They can be switched on and off remotely as well as as setting a schedule. We have various hard to reach sockets which had been running on normal electronic timer. These become a bind to reset as the seasons change and at spring/autumn daylight saving changes.
They are a tad expensive I suppose but watch out for deals. No need to pay 39.
They are very easy to integrate if you have an existing Hive system. Plug in, follow instructions on your app, give it a meaningful name, set a schedule, and there it is on your dashboard.
I’ve got lots of Hive stuff (heating, bulbs) but this was my first plug. I have it in my garage controlling my outside garden light. Previously I had a manual plug timer, but as the daylight hours changed I had to keep going into the garage and adjusting it, so I thought a smart plug would be more convenient. It is. Had no problems pairing it, even though it’s quite a ways from the hub. It’s worked faultlessly since.
I have a few hive plugs and find them very reliable compared to cheaper versions I’ve bought. Works as it should, very easy to set up and no problems from me!
Having just had Hive heating controls installed, wanted to try this product also.

I use this to power the lighting on a wall unit, and it has worked 200% since installation a month or so ago.
The Hive software is good and I have a schedule to turn the lights on at sunset until midnight, and also the ability to control it with Alexa is good.
It#s not cheap, but performs really well. Saving up for some more soon 🙂
Can turn the fan heater on in the living room if it gets to cold and have baby in my arm and can not more. Just use the Hive app and switch on and off. Great little thing will buy more when price comes back down to what I paid before. Make sure your WiFi is good
Was great for operating the Christmas tree lights. Would buy more if they weren’t so expensive!
I’m an existing Hive Thermostat user, so already have the hub, app and account. So adding this smart plug using the Android App was ridiculously easy. Then further customised the schedule using the website on a PC. Have quickly set up two sets of lamps to come on at sunset, and then turn off at fixed times at night – including later times at weekends. Easy.
Will probably buy another in December to control the Christmas tree lights.
Good plug but bit pricey compared to others. Hive system still needs work on smart features (wareables) to catch nest.

Brilliant, used for our Xmas lights, easy to use and control when lights off or on, especially when away from home.
Very easy to set up to my existing Hive stuff using the app. Brought to turn Christmas lights on and off either on timer or via Alexa by voice. Named it Christmas and it’s a delight to see children’s faces when you say “Alexa , turn Christmas on” and all the lights turn on as if by magic.
Great, realible and easy to pair with either my hive or amazon echo. Great for Xmas lights etc! Now have a few of these and they always work great!

I can be a lazy bugger now and turn on my electric blanket from my phone without having to pop upstairs. The quality of these is excellent plus so simple to set up on the hive app. Takes no time at all. I have 3 and all of them connected with no problems.

Bit expensive but works like a treat, simple setup works great with HIVE hub and Alexa as well. Good build quality probably why it’s a bit more expensive than others on the market.
I have a number of these and they are used to remotely control a number of different items around the house.
It is the case of not sure whether we have switched off certain electrical item and it is good to know that I can control it remotely. Easy to set up and functioning well.
Extremely easy to set up and use. Can auto switch on via Hive App and by Hive Sensors/schedules. Has manual override, so socket behaves just like the socket it is plugged into, without losing the remote control feature. Perfect for those scenarios where hive does not have a bulb or tube to replace the ceiling light with.
Very easy to pair with my existing system, took 5 minutes to set up. It’s nice to have the option to control a light or heater when away from home!
I use this in my guest bedroom with a radiator. I can remotely turn off the unit if it’s been left on accidentally. Have just ordered more for Christmas tree lights and side table lamps.

Since having the hive heating system installed, I received one of these plugs for free. At first I was a little hesitant thinking they were just a gimmick however after having one and now purchasing another 3 I believe they’re fantastic, the ability to schedule items from your phone to turn on/off. What’s more since the update of iOS 12 you can actually engineering them to work with iPhone and Siri.
Simple to set up, easy to use with the Hive App & Alexa, easy to set a schedule. Expensive, possibly, but looking cheaper this Black Friday week.
Plus over the years the various mechanical timers & electronic timers I have had on a table lamp have given up at some point.

I have hive system and I use this plug to control a lamp in my bedroom for security when I am away from home overnight I program it to go on and off a couple of times in the evening so it look from the outside like someone is switching the lights on and off inside the house.
Plug in, add via the app, turn on and off with the app or Google home. A lesson in how these things should work.
Have this as part of a full hive kit, hooked up to outside lights and works a treat.

Bought this to control the outside light as the timer plug I had was a pain to keep adjusting as the night get longer and shorter – now I can do it easily from my chair and it was easy to set up – job done
Operates outside lighting. Excellent quality and situated in attic but picks up signal from hub and Wi-fi. Highly recommended
I still hope that HIVE will come up with its technology in wall sockets like other vendors already do…
These additions are too bulky for my point of taste… HIVE should also work on the price…
I bought a digital timer which was not easy to use, so as I have Hive, I bought the plug. Like all Hive stuff, so so simple to use!

It’s great very handy to use when you’re plug is out of reach great for mobilty issues. I have 3 only issue so far was latest update from hive as knocked 1 off-line . So Amazon at replacing as won’t connect.

Ive bought several of these to accompany my home Hive system. Im really impressed with them, and how easy they were to set up. They intergrated well with the app and work reliably with the plugged in appliances.
Worked straight away – easy set up. Now I can be super lazy and tell my ceilng fan to turn on without having to lift a finger!
It works! Hooray. Works great and I can control my lounge side lights brilliantly. The time over midnight takes some thought but it’s easy enough with some thought. Very pleased
Used over the past 4 months to control lights, particularly when away. At Xmas, use it to remotely turn tree lights on/off due to plug being in an awkward place.
Great being able to control the lights when away from home at any distance via the app on phone.
Note, you have to have the HIVE system installed. Then you can add the devices (eg Active Plug) to the system.
Smaller than the originals from Hive (which is a good thing), just wish they were a little cheaper, having bought 5 of these now I have spent nearly 200!!
Don’t waste your money on the cheaper products-if your using Alexa with built in hub really really easy to set up plug in turn on the appliance your using ask Alexa to find it —sorted working— no need to use separate apps on your phone or worry about your hub and phone using 2.4 WiFi band. So far works perfect, shall be purchasing more.
Easy to setup with my existing Hive system/hub. I am using it to turn my Christmas tree lights on/off as the socket is buried behind the tree. Controlling via my Alexa Dot, “Alexa tree on” or “Alexa tree off”, works perfectly 🙂
Whilst this does everything described, so do all the competitors at much lower cost. TP Link is 50% less and looks and is good!

This active hive plug is very good and very easy to set up in control in the mobile phone. It gives you peace of mind when you are away and can control from the mobile from anywhere.
Love these plugs and have quite a few around the house. Gives me peace of mind when I leave the house that I can check whether things are switched off. Cheaper here than buying them directly from Hive as it was on offer for 31.
Great. Works really well. Not sure on the difference between this one and the latest generation other than the manual power button on this one is on the top which I think is better. Maybe this unit is slightly larger….? Works easily and quickly with my Hive hub, and also with Amazon Alexa once I had discovered the device again through the Alexa app.
Bought it as an addition to our Hive heating system and currently used for a lamp. It probably does have more practical uses than what we use it for but it was a bit of a gimmick for us. Takes considerably longer to open the app and turn on than it would to walk to the switch! It was a much better price on here than on the Hive website though.
A very useful addition to the Hive Control system, which you have to have already installed for this plug to work. It is a very useful device for use when you are away from home. Just by using the Hive app on your smart phone you can use this Plug when you need to turn things on and off remotely. A very reasonable price on Amazon. I would recommend this product.
This is a great addition to your hive set. Day to day I use this for a living room lamp, the plug for this is hard to access so I can control through the app or via Alexa. At Christmas I used these for Christmas lights and Christmas tree. This device Allen me to have the devices on an automatic timer so I didn’t have to manually turn them off and on each night and again I could control via the app and Alexa
Great product addition to the hive. I am now converted to modern technology. One oldish couple converted to the 21st century. Surprised at speed of delivery could only be improved upon the invention of yesterday delivery lol
If you have Hive heating then these make turning plugs on and off massively easier.
We bought this on offer to use with the Christmas lights. With the aocket being behind the tree, this was easy and simple to use. Especially with the schedule settings 😀

This has to be one of the easiest connected object to set up. It is really just: take out of the box, put in the plug, plug whatever you need – and it is done. The Hive found it without having to go through any special set up. Wonderful.
The range is very good – I placed mine in a far corner where I thought Wifi coverage would be an issue, but no, it works perfectly well.

It works fine for me. I have the hive heating controller. This was added to the same app, and is easy to set schedule for contoling a small lamp in living room while we out.
Was slightly concerned about the distance this plug was going to be from the hub, but no problems.
