If you have Hive, then this item is essential, in fact 2 or 3 of them will be put to good use, especially useful if you are away and want to turn on radio or lights etc. This one was great value for money and delivery was very fast.
These plugs are easy to install and use, and just like the Hive bulbs you can set lights to come on at sunset etc. I’ve linked plugs in different rooms on a quick action, so I can easily switch things off when I go to bed without going from room to room. They work with an multi-way adapter also, so you can switch multiple things on and off with one, so long as you want them on/off at the same time.
Very easy to attach to existing hive software and works wonderfully well, would definately recommend this produc

In comparison to Alexa smart plugs they are over priced.
To be honest as I normally just set a timer and leave them. I may well move to Amazon smart plugs at less than half the price.
You go in to add device and it just appears it is so easy to set up, adding it to Alexa is so easy as well and the the key words just work!
I ordered this so I could control a lamp in my home while I’m not there. It’s not the cheapest on the market but I have a Hive hub so it made sense. It’s easy to set via the app, isn’t too bulky and is incredibly reliable. I would consider buying another later.
Hive is a very easy to use system to start the setup of a novice smart home. The plug has such a great range of uses, like timing a fan to come on at specific times, or using voice controls to turn on an appliance. I have 3 of these now as well as the smart bulbs. Very pleased
I was looking for a signal booster (Hive NOT WiFi) to reach our shed door which is almost 20m from the hub.
Amazon had only one dedicated booster in stock and wanted 29 for it. Checking the Hive website it says the plugs (and bulbs) include signal boosters, so for just 2 extra decided to give it a try.
I’ve put in the outbuilding and it works well both as a switched socket and as a booster to reach the shed.

Great for temperature control, we bought this so we could turn the fan on/off at certain temperatures keeping the house at bareable temperatures during the summer and keep electric bill more realistic. This way the fan comes on when it’s too hot and turns off when cool enough again instead of running constantly till we manually turn it off. Easy to set up with hive and no issues whilst setting it up
I bought this plug to control the lights in the bedroom. Allowing the lights to be turned on at night as security, but also to allow the room to be lit up at night before entering. Works just great.
This does exactly what it says on the tin. As easy to program as any other Hive accessory, it also has an override button on the front to allow it to be switched off or on, and it will revert to program the next time a scheduled event goes past.
Is that worth the exorbitant cost? Depends. If it was cheaper we’d probably have a dozen in the house. As it is, the single plug in the lounge works well.
These connect to wifi and work with Hive/Alexa very easily. Too pricey but to my mind work consistently compared to cheaper products.
These are very easy to add to your system it actually took longer to unbox than set up
In the past I have rated these 5 star but if you want to set up a simple on/off schedule it’s a nightmare the app/plug constantly resorts to the preprogrammed settings giving the impression of a smart plug that is constantly trying to outsmart you
It really should be possible to wipe the preprogrammed times off completely and set your own on/off times to suit what you want it seems the whole system, including the lack of instructions is set up to prevent this
Easy to use, set up etc. So much easier to use than a manual programmer. The only thing that stopped a 5 star review is the price.
I use these plugs for lamps which are connected to sockets in awkward places such as behind chairs or units. They are specially useful at Christmas time for tree lights. I connect them via my Hive App on my phone and iPad. The lights can come on timed or manually. Great for older folk with dodgy knees.

Setting it up to simply turn a light on and off takes a while as you need to get the socket on and off sorted after you have put your times in.

Easy to install and use via the hive app. Have not used Alexa to control so cannot comment. Nice that you can press the button on the unit to activate and not have to rely on the app or Alexa. Slightly larger than some other brands, but not to its detriment.
Great product. Have a number of these. This was purchased to enable remote control of external Christmas lights. Expensive but extremely useful. Easy to set up and use via Alexa or Hive app.
Easy to add to the Hive app, easy to integrate with Alexa
A very straightforward item to use so I can turn my living room light on or off.
I just simply plug the unit into the mains socket, plug in the lamp to the unit and switch on the socket.
Then add the unit to my hive hub via app which I gave it a name.
After that, Alexa recognises the unit and I can use the app to set the times and use Alexa to verbally to turn on/off the lamp.
Plug seems well built, this is my 3rd and they all work fine. The Bulb has been put into an outside coach lamp, it means that I can leave the coach lamp switch left turned on and use my Hive App to set times or over ride and control from either my Hive App OR my Alexa. How cool is that 🙂

This plug is a great addition to a Hive system or your first one. Currently have a lot of products and these are great for lamps and items you can want to control remotely.
Great for being able to remotely control a socket. We have it hooked to an electric heated towel rail. Can be switched on and off via the hive app. Don’t use alexa and don’t Intend too.
This device integrates well with my existing smart devices and app. The only down side is that is a bit overpriced.
I’m no techie and have a hive hub set up by gas engineer for heating. These plugs were a doodle and worked within 2 minutes. Christmas tree lights now on and off automatically. Manual override if want them on early to lighten these grey days.
Great product and works well. ‘Hive’ products are rather expensive with alternative products now becoming available. The controlling ‘App’ is less predictable – recent software upgrades are often released without sufficient testing or apparent reason for change – resulting in some instability. Hive plug hardware appears to be well made and is reliable.
Brilliant for all the Christmas lights as easy to set on off times on the app and saves a lot of struggling to switch all lights on . Bought on black Friday deal so was at a great price

The hive docket works perfectly. It was easy to set up and add to my hive app. I use it to turn on a light when it gets dark and I’m out. Great for added security
Already have a hive system in place so this slotted in no problem. Just plug in & the hive app finds the new device. I’ve now set up some voice commands via hive & the shortcuts app on my iPhone & can switch this off from my chair. All good!

It works well with the hive home app and the responsiveness is the same as other devices. I am using mine to turn on and off a humidifer and it works well. I don’t see why this couldn’t be used to power other devices, just be sure to only power items less than 3000 watts as recommended by the specs.
I purchased a single one below 30, but it still feels quite expensive to justify it’s usage.
Really impressed with this plug. Got it for my bedroom lamp as wanted verbal activation by my bedroom Alexa echo. I have Hive heating and hub so seemed best option.
So easy to set up and link to the Hive App and then Alexa easily identified it.
Cost a bit more but ease of activation worth it.

Bought this on offer to replace a mechanical timer that was too noisy when used in the bedroom for a fan at night. Already had the Hive hub and app for the boiler / heating so simply plugged this in, added the device via the app and configured the required times on / off. All done in 5 or 10 minutes. Looks good for a plug and does exactly what is says it will do. Can’t comment on Alexa as we don’t have that and I am not sure I’d pay full price but if you already have the Hive for heating, I’d highly recommend this.

Does what it says, very easy to install. Just beware it will update the software when you first install which takes a minute or so. The schedule feature is excellent.
Just does what needs to, out of the box. My garden lights are now voice controlled and scheduled for when we’re away; brilliant – nothing negative to say. Apart from the cost; a tad expensive
after having some plugs from other manufactures that loose connection. however these have been brilliant had for over a year and never once lost connection.
These work great but are expensive, particularly as minimum order is 2. I have bought generic smart plugs from Amazon which work equally as well with Alexa and are half the price. Vale for money – no too expensive

Brilliant and very easy to use with the HIVE app.
I bought several of these and set up a multi-lamp schedule for security while I’m out after dark. Worked perfectly – I tested it while I was home and then checked on it while I was away with my phone. It was a bit tedious setting up different schedules with different times each day on each plug but was worth the effort. The only drawback I found was that the normal lamp switch won’t work if the lamp is plugged into the Active Plug instead of directly into the wall socket, so even in ‘Manual’ mode you have to use your phone to turn the lamp on and off.

Control the tempriture 2. Control my Deumidifier 3. Switch on & off three table lamps scattered around the house, all controlled through my wifi internet connection, & CCTV set up.cost, yes, is it worth it. They were easy to install, and to integrate with the existing Hive system. Everything is working well.
Easy to use, easy to install used for an oil filled radiator in a studio that isn’t connected to the central heating, hit the boost button and the room’s warm by the time you get to it!
Works perfectly with my media system and Hive light bulbs in my 2 lounge lamp and Amazon Echo along with my Hive Heating system. I like it when we retire for the night we simply say “Alexa Goodnight” and all our media sytem devices and lamps turn off. Just waiting for my Harmony Hub to arrive later today to link in with my Logitech Harmony Touch remote, then my whole lounge is fully automated.

Works well and easy to setup on your hive system. I got it a a knock down price so happy with the deal overall. Wouldn’t pay the full price so would only consider a further purchase if future discount if offered
It’s very good but it could do with some more intelligent voice commands. For example you can tell Alexa/use the app to turn on and off absolutely fine. But if you want it on for 10 mins for example, the functionality of the app/Alexa won’t turn the plug off after 10 mins automatically. It seems like a missed opportunity but it’s a great gadget nonetheless. And has actually made our lives a little easier.
I like the flexibility you get with the Hive smart plugs over the conventional timer. We’ve installed 3 of these around the house and can now operate the lights as you would if at home. Instead of lights coming on and off at a fixed time we now have versatility which is great. Can be operated from your smart phone irrespective of where you are or can be scheduled to come on and off at set times.

Took a few minutes to get it right I had to uninstall it and reinstall then it was okay I use it to turn the kettle on when i want a drink but you have to remember to turn off the plug and switch the kettle on so when you turn the plug on it starts the kettle to heat up as i am a bit disabled its is great i can turn the kettle on up staires and by the time i get down staires the kettle has boiled and same when i come home i can turn it on and the kettle will be boiled by the time I walk in the front doo

Great smart plug. Easy to set up and controllable from Alexa or the Hive app. It’s great for switching lamps that won’t accept a smart bulb or things like the slow cooker.
Easier to use than the TP-Link ones. Integrates nicely with Alexa and Google. I use mine for controlling a fan and a light and I’m planning on buying another one. I also have two TP-LINK smart plugs which are not quite as good in respect to accepting commands via Alexa.
I bought this plug so that I could turn my lamp on when I was away from home especially when the winter comes. It saves using one of those old fashioned timers.
Bought this so I could check that I hadn’t left my straighteners on as I get very paranoid about them. This works a treat. Great piece of mind and useful to use to switch lights on and off when you go on holiday. It, like all hive equipment, is very pricey.

I use this plug with my Alexa. It was easy to install ,it only took a couple of minutes. If I’m at home I use the Alexa voice control and if I want my lights on as a security measure if im away from home i can do through the Alexa app or Hive.
I now have several of these around my flat to control fans, ionisers etc. Used in conjunction with Alexa they are a great addition to any smart home.
I’ve bought these plugs before and I’ve had them less than 12 month. To date none have failed and all work as expected. There are cheaper similar products on the market but not Hive compatible. Luckily I bought this on a Prime Day.
We have a couple of these. One switches the washing machine on early in the morning so the washing is done when we get up.
The other one has a far more important use.
It operates the kettle. My alarm goes off at 6.15 and at the same time, the hive app switches this plug on, which switches the kettle on. I walk down stairs to a boiled kettle and make a brew and go back up and get a shower.

I have set up plans so it turns itself on and off Which is ideal crime prevention tactic.
The Hive app is slightly clunky and I find it crashes a lot but stick with it and it does its job well.
I used this in my combined Office/Games Room. I would occasionally forget to switch off plugs before leaving the house. Not any more. Even if I did, I can switch it where ever I am.
I bought 2 to replace cheaper smart plugs that just stopped working. I already have Hive plugs over 2 years old which still work so knew these, though expensive, would work.
Love my smart plug. Excellent for when I’m away or to get the kettle boiled and ready for when I get downstairs. Great product!
I bought the hive plugs and I am sure like many other people you always get one that will not programme and the person trying to connect it may have installed it wrong. After a lengthy chat with hive representative the final plug has been installed and so far it has disconnected once and need to be re installed but all others worked with minimal effort. Don’t dismay if installing and you get frustrated contact hive and they will sort it for you. Next I need to install the bulbs I can’t wait for that trauma . Worth every penny and hive is expanding all the time i wouldnt live witjoit my hive now it really adds more assistance to your busy life.
Have six of these, well pleased with operation. Not too difficult to set up.
Love this Hive plug, we already have Hive active heating so use this on a lamp in our living room where the socket is difficult to reach. We use Alexa voice control to switch it on and off but can also schedule the lamp on/off when we are not there. Well worth having for any appliances.
I had some outside lights fitted and plugged them into this hive socket in the garage, this linked directly to my app and now I have lights that come on to a timer and I can also override them remotely, great produc

I love my hive active plug. I use this one for my electric blanket, having ME and other long tern health conditions, this makes it easy to turn on and off my blanket when I need to. I would highly recommend this without any qualms.
They work as they should and are so much easier to setup and change than a traditional wall timer. The only annoyance is how much the price goes up and down. Prices can go up and down by 10 which is crazy.

Great items – we use to control our hard to reach lounge lamps – very few issues, but they are reliant on internet and sometimes (not that often) they will fail to sync whic is annoying but in the main really good. Only downside is price which is high in my opinion.
