Using this gimbal in combination with a cheap smartphone such as the Xioami Mi 9 Lite which has a sony IMX586 sensor will give you quality footage that is genuinely comparable to a DSLR. This is how I plan to start creating content online, and man has this gimbal made it easy to envision.

Whilst Hohem’s gimbal app is relatively custom and proprietary and doesn’t have any support for more standard applications such as Filmic Pro, I’m not personally bothered by this fact, since it produces quality footage. The firmware is all that matters to me and it has solid firmware

The only genuine problem I have had with it is the lack of grip on the joystick.

The gimbal is really easy to set up and use. It’s the best bang for your buck.

The materials and controls all feel very premium and well built.

And the app is much better than expected, compared to some other reviews.

Good affordable product that overall does a very good job. The only frustration, unless I’ve not got it right, is that in landscape mode, the lightening receptacle on the phone is blocked by the Gimbal and it is therefore impossible to connect an external microphone.

Fantastic product. Since it is only a mobile gimbal, not one for cameras, I thought it migh feel a bit unsturdy and plasticy before I purchased it. When it came, however, I was very pleasantly surprised with the overall image and feel of the product. The case is well made and fits it perfectly, making it very easy to travel with. The gimbal itself, did not feel cheap at all and I was surprised by how sturdy it is considering how compact and lightweight it is. When it came to testing the actual performance of the gimbal, I was a bit doubtful about how easy it would be to set up, however, unlike many other tech products, the manual was very clear and easy to understand. I was shocked with how easy it was to balance the gimbal and get it started. I was very happy with the amount of different functions and modes there were as many other phone gimbal lack these. I also tried using it with the app, which turned out to be extremely straightforward and simple despite having many helpful tools in it. In general I thought this is a great gimbal if you want to create perfectly smooth footage on the go. Being so light and easy to carry around in the handy case, I think this is the perfect gimbal for anyone who wants to create videos whilst travelling without wanting to carry lots of heavy and bulky equipment. Although I am yet to travel with it, this is the piece of equipment I will use the most. In general, for me, it is exactly what I need.

I bought this gimbal stabillizer to liven up videos I make for our yoga and meditation website. I don’t need a professional level steadycam, but I do need something more than a smartphone on a tripod. And I have been very pleasantly surprised by what this product has supplied!
It comes in an excellent shock-case, it’s lightweight and easy to travel with or put in your pack for a day’s walk in nature. I’ve been able to record whole meditation videos in a forest with my smartphone and the gimbal, in ways I never would be able to acheive with just a tripod. Provided you move slowly, the footage is perfect for social media or anything less than highly professional. It’s light enough to be able to hold for a long time, moving around the viewscape.
I was impressed by how easy it was to get started – the quickstart video on YouTube is really excellent. And there are many other instructional videos to help you get much more from the product. I think with any gimbal you’d need to familiarise yourself with how to use it before trying to figure it all out from scratch and HoHem have done a good job here.
I found the software a great surprise. I wasn’t really expecting to get face or object tracking, nor such variations on how you could stablise the phone – any possible combination of left-right freedom, up-down freedom, rotational freedom. It’s also very easy to switch between these while filming.
The software also gives you huge capabilities for adjusting your phone’s camera settings – far more than I’ve had time to investigate so far.
Finally, the battery in the stabliser lasts for many, many hours, and furthermore, has rescued me by providing power to my phone when it began to run out.
So, for 89, this has been a most excellent purchase. Thanks to the team who have put so much effort into making this an excellent product!

Took this to italy and used it the whole time. It is sturdy and well made. It took a little time to get used to the controls but I mastered it. The video footage is clear and steady. A great gadget for a great price.

I loving this Stabiliser, it is a solid piece of kit. Enables me to create professional looking footage from my phone. I’m using a iPhone 11 Pro and getting exceptional footage.

Battery life is incredible, charged holds well. I love that it comes with a detachable tripod which makes setup much easier as well as offering an option to film static shots with the phone.

Ordered this after looking at several gimbles. It arrived quickly and was so simple to set up and to use.

This is an extremely satisfying product to buy. So happy with the results for filming with my iPhone. The handling when filming is so smooth and precise it has brought my videos to more of a professional standard. So worth the money.

The gimbal is excellent and very well built for the price. There were initial issues setting up however a couple of emails to the manufacturer soon resolved this and it is now working fine. Excellent value for money , only slight niggle was the setup instructions needed to include a little more information as the bluetooth was very particular in its requirements , once the full instructions received from Hohem it was all good.

I works good. Didn’t have a check it on my trips, but try use it at home. Do a job. Works fine and soft.

I am a total beginner with this device never having used one before, but I found it easy to set up and once I got used to the sensitivity of the control, much easirt to use than I had imagined. This device is well balanced and of exceptional quality for the price. I am well pleased with it.

Once set up it is so easy to use. Creates wonderfully smooth shots and makes vlogging outcomes much more professional. Follow the easy to use set up instructions to ensure your initial set up is correct then off you go. Cheaper then other similar offerings and has been great for me – fits my iPhone 6S plus.

Very easy to use and set up, it connects to the phone through Bluetooth. The stabilizer works amazingly as well as its motion-tracking program. The battery lasts quite a while, so if you go on a day trip you can record without a problem. Can’t complain at all.

My daughter very quickly got the hang of it and now uses it all the time.

I am an amateur videographer and I wanted to buy a gimbal for my upcoming trips. After comparing and analysing in detail all the options available, I decided to go for this one. I must admit that I am very happy with it! I have tested a few times and it has always met my expectations. It does what it says: good stabilization, decent follow, good flexibility to configure the settings (rotation speed, zoom speed…). On top of that, it was easy to get used to it and it is very user friendly.

The biggest drawback so far is that it took me a while to connect it to the app (you need to turn on the location, it won’t work otherwise). But after that it works well. I hope it will continue to work as well for some years.

Only used this once and it broke.

Will be re-buying a replacement of the same type as has a real good feel to the gimble.

I like the very smooth operation, seamless motion without shakes especially when using video camera, also the material is sturdy. Two things are, hohem gimbal app has limited features like missing slo-mo when using video camera, but I just used my own S10 camera features, so basically I’m just using it’s gimbal operation. Second is the price point which I think is a bit pricey even on sale. Last minor comment is, it didn’t come with its own dedicated charger but it’s ok cos you can use your mobile phone charger. The rest of its features are excellent.

I got this yesterday, and let’s say I am not the most Tech savvy guy out there. I have found it easy to use and a great product. I did have to go to you tube for instruction videos but I think that is more for me than the product. VERY GOOD. Seller had it out to me quickly.

Amazing product and received it just in a day so impressed with it easy to use and u can use it to make different type of videos.

Takes a bit of getting used to but gives really smooth video quality.
