    Gran cajon almacenaje jardin.

Sturdy. Waterproof (been through a few storms since assembly). Excellent deck box with plenty of storage room. Assembly was easy (less than 20 min). Also looks great!

Very happy with this deck box so far. We’ll see how it hold up to the winter weather. Have had some bowing on the lid with the summer sun/heat. But, it straightens out with the cooler nights. Not a big issue.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI suggest that you have a rubber mallet and a drill with Phillips head screwdriver bit to assemble this unit. Except where machine bolts are used the panels are not pre-drilled but marked with triangle indentations where the sheet metal screws are to be installed.

The front and back panels have tabs which fit into the base of the storage box and then are slid to the right to lock them in (this is where a rubber mallet might be useful). The right and left side panels didn’t appear to be marked left or right. They also have tabs and they each fold to form a portion of the front and rear panels. Just make sure the two holes at the top of side panels are attached closest to the rear panel – that’s how you determine right from left panels – as those holes support the hinges for the top. After securing the panels to the bottom with the sheet metal screws – you need to flip the box over and use the remaining sheet metal screws to screw the tabs their are protruding through the base to the base. Again the tabs are not pre-drilled for the screws – so a drill with a screwdriver bit is useful.

Hope this is helpful. Assembly time is probably around an hour and a half with the proper tools.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI needed to replace an older deck box that not only leaked with a cover on it, but was often a home for mice over the winter. I looked at several boxes on Amazon/Sams/online and this box seemed to have a preponderance of good reviews for being rodent proof and weather resistant.

Assembly was fairly easy, although I did manage to snap one of the bolts used for the latch bar. The manufacturer did not include any spares, but it was a common size and I had one that similar in size that worked OK. I did not use any sealant on the seams, as there were several reviewers that testified to the weatherproof properties of the box without using any sealer. I did not have any help, but the box was fairly easy to maneuver around to work in all the fasteners.

The first night sitting on the deck full of cushions we had a major series of thunderstorms roll through with high winds and several inches of rain. I checked the next day and everything in the box was dry and there was no evidence of any moisture in the bottom.

Overall I am very impressed with the design and construction of this storage box.

Have a large LIfetime trash can storage unit/shed at the end of my driveway. Put that together myself over one year ago and except for some slight initial warping on the rear roof corners from sitting in the hot Sun on a sloping asphalt driveway, it is solid. Figured the same build design process would be used for this and naturally being a good bit smaller it proved to be an easier build than the larger shed.

Parts are well thought out and require pre-drilling of holes in only one location. That would be the 4 rear support bar holes. They leave them that way because there is no real way for them to drill them without marking up the material…and making you drive them results in a tighter fit anyway, at the angle that best suits your particular driver. As always, only use a much smaller bit for guide purposes so the screw threads will fit much tighter and require less checking over time for any slippage. Other than that is all easy peesy and aside from the sheer bulk size of it, the box is not heavy to move.

Oh, one other thing, do not be thrown off by the hinges being the same exact design (no right vs left) for the mounting space alloted at the rear. Using the same design means one of the hinges (your choice of side) will make for a snugger fit with one of the front corners when closing the lid. The tolerances are such there should be no pressure warping issue and in any event there is a lockdown area provided.

I love this box. Took 2 to put it together or would have received 5 stars for assembly too. We use it for a package receptacle. All of our carriers know where it is, and now I don’t have to look for my packages.

I wanted to write this review as some of the complaints within Amazon reviews about assembling this product nearly scared me off. I don’t know if Lifetime changed something, but assembly was a cinch (albeit a bit time-consuming). All the hardware fit, and I used my power tools and ratchets. No issues with deformed plastic or bolts that didn’t fit.

Installation aside, the space in the 130-gallon is PHENOMENAL. This unit is in my garage and it hides all of our gardening gear, all of our bike gear, and a bunch of our sporting goods and there is STILL half the box left over. In the beige color, it’s also neutral enough not to stand out, and the size and shape are perfect for my garage.

Out of sight, out of mind, and ORGANIZED.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersASSEMBLY
If you’re expecting just a philips screw driver and some allen keys, you’re in for a surprise. Assembly isn’t particularly difficult, but I don’t imagine most people will have the tools needed to put this together. No tools are included by the way. I recommend getting someone with a set of legit tools before assembly. Luckily I have all this stuff, but it still took me a few trips up and down the stairs back and forth to/from my garage to gather up everything I needed. Hope the attached pic will help you.

You’ll need a socket wrench set. Or at the very least, two wrenches of various sizes b/c you need to secure one nut while turning a bolt at the same time. A power drill is a must and it needs to have an impact driver function b/c there are no pilot holes in the hard plastic that you’re drilling into.

Pro tip: hold the lid vertically and drill the screws down towards the ground to give yourself more leverage. If you don’t have a drill and plan to do this by hand, you’ll rip out your hair before you get it done and your wrist will wish you used it to drive to a store to buy one if you don’t already have one handy.

I just finished assembling this in a bit less than 1 hour w/o much fuss so I haven’t had a chance to test the waterproof capability of this deck box. I’ll report back later after any rain.

    QUALITY:
It’s hard plastic, but it’s good hard plastic. Higher grade than the full size plastic kitchen sets your kids play with at preschool. What I’m saying is that it’s legit. No issues with the quality of the plastic. The closing hinges are gas hinges which is a nice step up from anything more basic.

Assembly requires more than basic tools

Golden Review Award: 64 From Our UsersLooking at deck boxes, I was debating if I needed to spend the large sum of money for the 150 gallon, those are significantly more expensive. Let me say, this 130 gallon is very large. Many people are familiar with the size of a 50 gallon drum, well this is more than two and a half of those barrels big. It’s huge.

Assembly is not bad. You do need wrenches and sockets… both as when you use the socket, you need a wrench on the other side. Metric is what is called for. With some patients, I got it together with minimal stress, but there are a few issues.

First, Lifetime could easily standardize the bolt and nut sizes. It requires three different size wrenches and sockets. They could have just make everything 10mm in order to simplify the process and reduce the number of tools you need to pull out.

Second, the bottom was ever so slightly bowed. When sliding the sides into the bottom, I had so put my weight onto the pieces in order to make sure all of the tabs fit into place. I recommend flipping it upside down after you install the side panels to make sure all of the clips engaged.

Third, some of the holes still had too much plastic covering them. The screws are self tapping and go right through the plastic. But the bolts would not. I had to grab a drill bit and ream the holes out in order to fit the bolts through. It’s not a big deal, but it could set you back if your not used to problem solving like this.

I am very happy with this deck box. Products like this are Lifetime’s bread and butter, they just build very robust plastic containers. If you found my review helpful, please let me know by pressing that button.

This box has excellent storage capability and seem very durable. I keep my gardening equipment in there along with outdoor cushions during bad weather. It doesn’t blow away in heavy winds and no moisture inside. I do recommend a lock of some sorts to keep the lid fastened to the box because it may catch wind and flip open.

The drawback was the assembly. The directions seem a bit unclear and I had to figure things out even when watching the manufacturer videos. Because of there are no pre-drilled holes for the screws it was very difficult for me to screw some portions of the box and a drill just wouldn’t work. I even had to get my wife inside the box to screw a few screws in during the assembly. Putting this huge box together was too difficult considering it was mostly thick plastic. A novice like me can assemble this but it took longer than expected.

I really liked my first one and I’d guess I’ve had it for six years. The second one appears identical however the quality control seems to have slipped. The lid had a very shallow inch wide gouge in it. Which for an outdoor box is easy to ignore. Where the quality control was harder to ignore was during assembly. The box is a peg and notch style assembly. Repeatedly you line up the pegs, with their corresponding notches, then slide and lock them place. The sides probably took an hour of trial, error, and hammering with a large rubber mallet to manhandle into position. The lid has a reinforcing bar that requires two people to position properly. The hinges became a problem where they bolted onto the box. The holes, in the box, for the bolts hadn’t been drilled out properly. After re-drilling them I was able to mount the hinges.

I’m glad to have the second box but I wish it hadn’t been such a project to assemble.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI purchased the LIFETIME 60254 Heavy-Duty Outdoor Storage Deck Box, 150 Gallon, Desert Sand/Brown to store patio furniture cushions and blanket throws in. After putting together I had 2 days of rain and the box is waterproof. I assembled the box myself and would suggest a second person, since holding some of the larger parts while holding the screws and tools can be difficult. Read the directions carefully because it is very easy to get pieces switched, luckily I realized before the whole thing was together. In my photo I had just shut the top and notice while downloading the photo that the lid had not shut all the way yet – no problem with lid just snapped photo too soon. The other photo is of the smaller Lifetime container – LIFETIME 60103 Deck Storage Box, 80 Gallon, Desert Sand/Brown. I purchased them at the same time and purchased the same color, but they are different colors. Since they will not be sitting together I’m OK with the difference.

Of the four deck boxes I have bought and assembled, this one is the sturdiest. Assembly was straight forward, but definitely more involved than the others. I think it may have been designed a few years ago when customers were expected to have a grasp of using/owning a few tools. Lots of screws that required Phillips head screwdriver, and some hardware that required 2 different sizes of open end wrenches and sockets (7/16″ and 1/2″). I’m only mentioning this because some of the other deck boxes didn’t require any tools. That said, I think it makes for a stronger longer lasting unit. Very happy with it so far. Assembly took about 40 minutes mostly because I didn’t read ahead and have the tools needed on hand. You’ll need 7/16″ and 1/2″ open end wrenches, and sockets, a ratchet, #2 Phillips head screw driver, a hammer and block of wood where it might need some gentle percussive persuasion,
and if you’re old like me, good lighting. Enjoy the build.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our Users…Some Assembly Required. What an odyssey!

The journey began with a bad omen: UPS delivered the deck box in what at one time must have been a shipping box. It was so badly tattered that was where no more than a collection of cardboard strips. I should have taken the hint. Being the intrepid type I journeyed on.

After dragging the thing to the back deck it became immediately obvious that all the hardware was missing. What to do?

Called Amazon and asked them just to send a hardware kit. “No can do.” The solution is to send a completely new unit. I am to remove the hardware, reseal the carton, and have UPS pick it up.

Adding to the joy, it poured down rain last night and what was once something that resembled a shipping carton is now nothing more that a sopping wad of paper. Maybe I shall just put the mess on the front porch and have UPS pick it up as is and keep the new unit.

Moving on: BEWARE of Step 2.2 & 2.3 (page 15 & 16 of manual). Positioning the metal Lid Support is a nightmare. Neither the Video (which for the most part is pretty good) nor the printed Assembly Instructions adequately identify the critical positioning of the Lid Support (Part# EZA) so that the Lid Locking Tab (Part# EYY) is set correctly. We found out only after we completed the box assembly.

Today, we are going to attempt to flip/reposition the Lid Support without disassembling the entire Lid (Part# AND). This process includes removing the 6 screws (Part# BCK). What a mess!

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersI don’t understand how anyone could complain that this box is too difficult to assemble. The instructions are in several languages and include excellent, easy-to-follow, diagrams and drawings. The hardware is drawn full size so it’s nearly impossible to make a mistake. The instructions have nice little touches such as warnings to NOT put hardware in certain holes.

It was well packed and I was able to assemble it by myself in 40 minutes. If you can’t change a light bulb, don’t try to assemble this box. But if you can make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, you’ll be just fine. You don’t even have to read. I went strictly by the diagrams since the written instructions are not really needed, but they’re a nice bonus.

The engineering is good and the box has a good strength-to-weight ratio. I bought another one three years ago for swimming pool gear and it’s completely weather proof and looks brand new in spite of being in the sun and weather.

    HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI’m satisfied with all aspects of this storage unit. You do need two people to put this together and we got it done in about an hour. This plastic is top quality, high density, I can imagine it lasting at least 5 years with no issue. There is a 10 year warranty on the item I recommend keeping the manual and receipts. The 150 gallon is massive, the sand color is more light beige than tan. Sturdy enough to be used as a bench. By following the instructions to the “T” everything fit correctly. The only suggestion I would give for putting this together, the bottom tabs where you drill the screws in, I recommend making very small drill holes first and it becomes a lot easier to get the screws in. The hydraulic struts, I recommend greasing them and also to get a sealant for extra protection from moisture. This is one of the few storage bins I’ve seen that is weather and water resistant. Placed our deck. It is heavy. I’m so happy!

We purchased this to hold a new 8 foot artificial Christmas tree as well as transfer Christmas ornaments and lights from what were in multiple plastic containers on our shelves . The plastic panel manufacturing is heavy duty and is made with pretty tight tolerances so all the panels fit precisely together . The way the panels snap together and fit snugly together is a sign of much better quality manufacturing then anything I seen from companies like Rubbermaid. I think Lifetime should have improved the side handles . If the boxes loaded or even unloaded the handles are very shallow and nearly impossible to hold onto in order to lift the box. This seems like a simple Design flaw. Another issue is the lead handle or actually , lack there of . why wouldn’t lifetime have either a grip area or recessed handle in order to open the lid comfortably . The plastic lid closes pretty snug . When you want to open the lid we found ourselves fishing around for an area to wedge our fingers between the front panel and the lid. this is frustrating . I feel that this container will do a reasonably decent job of keeping out the elements . Although , it is in no way going to keep enter from entering between the side panels and the floor panel . would think lifetime could have devised a small rubber weatherstripping of some sort to resolve this or perhaps something in the mold to raise the flanges where the sides and the floor panels come together . Either way I don’t really care because I’ll be storing the been in my garage on casters anyway.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersI was able to assemble the Deck Box alone without any help, however their is one instruction I found to be unclear: It deals with the bar that goes across the front of the box, your instruction says to insert one end and once in, ” rotate it and place the other end in the slot”…If you insert one end in the ” notch” and rotate it, it will damage the insert cut out and “round it out” making a sloppy fit, even tho you screw the bar into the front panel. I found that it was much easier and a better install by inserting one end of the bar, then with my left hand grasp the bar on the end, and “bow” the center just enough to line up the bar with the insert hole, and it slips right in. Also, I purchased some time ago a set of wrenches that have an open end at one end and the other end is a closed/box wrench at the other end, and this box end is a “ratchet” end, so that when you place it on one way it tightens, the flip over loosens. It became quite handy as some of my sockets walls were to thick to fit between the panels and get a firm grip on the screw or nut that I was attempting to lock down. Another item you may want to HIGHLIGHT…..When screwing in screws or tightening bolts and nuts, be careful as you can “over tighten” the screw, which leaves you no “bite” into material, after all its plastic not metal or wood and it gives or “strips” very easily and you have a poor/weak point of assembly. The last item is, you may want to predrill small holes in the material for starting the screws. If you use a “nut driver” on the drill, then go only 3/4 of the way with the drill and complete the tightening by hand, you get to “feel the tightness and won’t over tighten”. Otherwise it went together very well and inuse….Here in Florida its hot and rainy and its holding up well.

Haven’t been this quick to write a review needless to say I really like this product right off the bat. I got this a couple of days ago and put it together yesterday. Being a new pool owner we needed something to put some of the pool items away from the elements. This seemed to me a good choice as far as size and price. It is plastic which I’m not really a fan of the look but for the most part we just needed it to be functional. I bought a cover to go over it which keeps it water proof and it actually doesn’t look that bad.

I have put together many, MANY things, from exercise equipment to shelves to desk etc over the years. Obviously this is a box not much else to say it should be easy to put together. With the way they design these things and the hardware that you get to hold it all together it seems that it wouldn’t be very durable. All the bolts screw into the plastic but all the joints and lid seemed to match up and seem solid. As long as you don’t over-tighten the bolts all is good. Having all the sockets and box wrenches helped, a decent tool box like the Stanley 145 piece set from Walmart that I bought a while back was really handy I used it more here that I have since I bought it. All the panels are light weight and easy to move around it says that you need a rubber mallet I didn’t have to use it all the piece easily fit together with a little force. The hinges have a very simple air cylinder that seems to work well, I would say that would be something to see how long it last but it does seem solid and the hinge as a whole works well. Overall it very easy to put together with the proper tools and seems like it will last. When you put it together as the instructions say you put the walls together first and then work on the lid and hinges. If you put the lid on the box walls it will get it off the ground to make it easier to work on, just a tip. Also when putting on the hinges the lid will not stay up if you don’t have someone to help hold it up you could use a wall to prop it up.

Now the size. This was the largest box I could find for the cheapest amount of money. We don’t have a lot stored in the box. In all we have two fold up gravity chairs, three pool noodles, goggles, snorkels, diving rings and two pool floating chairs that are full of air but can fold up enough to shove in there. The goggles and small stuff doesn’t take up that much space so there is room to put a few more small stuff. The chairs have to be leaning to the side to put the lid down but the noodles go in the little void they make. It’s pretty easy to get what you need in there, it’s not a lot but enough to keep things protected and out of the sun and rain. My pool and that side of my house faces south so it’s in the sun all day. Any chair or items lying around with no protection will get baked. We have a large pad of concrete around the pool coming up to the house so there was plenty of room to set the box next to the house with no issues being in the way. If you have a deck around your pool or are placing this inside a garage it’s about the size of a large freezer chest so it will take up some room.

Along with buying this is I bought the cover to go over the top of it to make it water proof. I’m sure that this box would be water resistant but not to sure if it would keep out a heavy rain. The cover was $30 which in total still makes it cheaper than the rubbermaid box that is the same size. The cover is a perfect fit and with drawstrings on both sides and elastic at the bottom so it will stay on.

In all I would highly recommend this box for storage and would also recommend getting the cover if you need it to be water proof. This could also be used as a table or a bar like area to put your spread of food. Overall this was a great purchase for our needs at a great price.

Golden Review Award: 102 From Our UsersThis thing survived a hurricane! I bought this in October to hold the cushions for my outdoor patio set (4 big love seat cushions, 2 big chair cushions, 1 medium ottoman cushion), plus a couple blankets, throw pillows, lighter, extension cord, etc. It weighs a ton, so be prepared to get some help moving the box and assembling it if you’re not very strong.

The sides basically slide and “pop” into place with a fair amount of force, which makes sense considering this is supposed to be waterproof. The really tough part was installing the hinges and the top part. The screws are a very tight fit to get into the plastic and take a lot of torque to get in all the way (see the first photo — some screws didn’t get in all the way even with a lot of force) . Part of the problem is a weird angle to finish installing the second hinge. Again, see the second photo – the angle is awful but it is possible!

One tip: I immediately ditched the printed instructions and found a video on You Tube that walked me through the assembly process. That’s the only way I was able to finish it. Well, that an my son’s strength and help.

Once done, it’s perfect! A couple weeks after I finished it, Hurricane Matthew came along. I had no where to move the box, so I loaded everything into it and wished for the best. There was some water along the outside lip of the top (where the brown stains are in the last 2 photos), but no moisture got into the box and all of my cushions stayed bone dry.

A beast to assemble but works perfectly!

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersOne person and a deck railing can put this together in an hour. Easy. And no hammer required. It took 1/2 hour to assemble the lid. 10 minutes to put the box together and 20 minutes to attach the lid to the box. One step that is not in the instructions: Before putting the lid on ensure the bolts can go into the holes. I had to ream my plastic holes out with a little screwdriver becuase they were incomplete from the factory. My Socket wrench was too big so had to use open end wrench instead. Make sure to not over tighten the screws. See the assembly video that is advertised in the instruction book at the manufature’s website: go.lifetime.com/60012playlist I was able to put 4 seat cushions, 4 fold up chairs in bags, and a patio table umbrella in the box. Glad I got the130 gallon size and not anything smaller. Quality seams good but I have never used another similar box with which to compare.

    Klare Kaufempfehlung.

Golden Review Award: 15 From Our UsersThe product looks and feels strong, has a nice look to it. Assemble is easy but the only comment to it is that the screw that is closer to the back holding the “L” piece that helps hold the top, is way to close to the bottom of the space so it makes it tight to screw scratching the surface of the box at that point, I am attaching a few pictures to show this, but once you assimilate that you just scratched your brand new box due to the defective design not you, then it is ok.
    I would recommend it.
I also saw a few comments about getting the card box from transport a big damaged, I guess I was lucky, it came perfect.

The large box fit our purposes. It appears sturdy, but not sure it could be used as a bench except for small children. The shipment arrived on time (shipping charges were not waived so the total price was not inexpensive). It comes with metal bolts and other parts for assemblying (the reinforcement bar arrived bent, but we were able to straighten it out). The bottom, sides, and top require some strength to get them to align/fit. Persistence and patience required. The plastic appears durable, the first winter will tell. So far, so good.

Golden Review Award: 179 From Our UsersI waited over a year to write this review as I wanted to go through a summer (2015), winter (2015), and another summer (2016) to see how this box stood up to the elements here in NC (Raleigh area). This box is very large, extremely easy to assemble, nice soft open/close hinges – and the lid stays open when wanted, closes tightly, and absolutely positively keeps the water out. As others noted, do take the time to make sure you have the correct panels in place before snapping together as I can see how they could be difficult to get apart if put together wrong – but everything was labelled easily so just read it. Some reviewers stated they used caulk inside to seal it but we did not and it never allowed water in – ever, and we get torrential rain when storms roll through. FYI, This box was placed on our pool patio directly on the concrete so moisture from the outside bottom did not get in. It has not faded (it gets a lot of dead sun all day) and did not crack during the cold months. Nothing smells inside – no musty smell or anything; and no mold or algae formed around/on the outside. It was packaged well, delivered intact, no pieces missing.

We have a large U-shaped sectional with a ton of seat and back cushions and small square throw pillows. This box holds all 12 of our back cushions (these are smaller than the seat cushions), 4 small square throw pillows, my pool exercise items (float belt, float shoes, float dumbbells, small kickboard), fly swatter, and a few other small items. 😉 The 10 seat cushions are larger/thicker so we had to split storing those in 2 other deck boxes (different style/brand) along with the remaining throw pillows. So yes, we have 3 deck boxes around our pool, LOL. After buying this through Amazon and liking it, I found the same one at a local big box home store and bought it. The 2nd one is located up on our house deck to hold cushions for the patio furniture that is up there. The quality is the same with the 2nd Lifetime box as the one ordered through Amazon. I highly recommend this Brand and model no matter where you purchase it.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis deck box is fantastic! It’s very durable and has great dimensions that allow us to store up to 6 fairly large cushions for our outdoor furniture. Actually, this is the second one of these boxes that we have…we bought the first one a couple of years ago, but we needed to purchase this new one to accommodate our growing cushion collection. We have had other deck boxes in the past, but this one is the best by far…very durable and looks great.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersVery durable and reasonably priced. The assembly instructions are thorough, but not complete. A numbered parts list would be handy when getting started, and there are a few assembly tips I could mention. First, you will need a rubber hammer to slot the panels together. Second, you will need to drill small pilot holes to secure the panels at the top four corners with the Philips screws. Third, a socket wrench is required, but the hub on a standard wrench may be too large in some areas. Use an extension or a smaller wrench. Finally, the pivot bolts for the pneumatic closers should be installed before the hinges are attached. The nuts on the lower pivots are too big to slide in if it is done at the end of the process. Assembly is not trivial, and does require a helper, but is well worth it.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersThe item arrived on time and well packaged. I am very happy with this purchase. It went together in less than an hour and is extremely sturdy. I weigh 185 lbs and can dance on the top without it deforming in any way. It serves a dual purpose of containing spare items from my boat and as a step to facilitate me climbing on and off my boat.

I live in Vancouver, which, during the winter is basically like living under water, as it can rain solidly for over three weeks at a time. This box has remained completely waterproof throughout the winter and still looks as good as new. Highly recommended.

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersI was looking for something to replace my existing storage, Keter store it out, which although only three years old was in a state of disrepair (did not like the sun). I purchased the Lifetime for the following reason.
It`s American, the Yanks don`t take kindly to poorly made products and expect good durability.
It`s big, could not find anything bigger and wanted to store my Lafuma recliners which are quite large.
It arrived after an expected delay flat packed, big,(well it is) and quite heavy.
The only disappointment is, although the instructions are quite clear after a couple of reads you do need some imperial spanners, (remember the days when everything you needed was supplied) its not the easiest flat pack I have put together. It is now sitting in place on a sunny south facing balcony very sturdy, waterproof and looking good. It is strong enough to sit on, hopefully be more resilient than the Keter. It is more expensive to similar products on the market but you normally get what you pay for and the Lifetime does appear to be a step up.

Edit; Now into the second year, still in perfect condition, no leaks, cracks or warping. I am happy to rate at five stars.
Edit: Year three is looking good, no fading, water ingress or warping.
Edit: Year four, still no issues.

Golden Review Award: 519 From Our UsersCheck out the photo.
I placed this box in direct sun light part of the day, hot close to equator climate year round, and prone to heavy rains.

    Water getting into yours?
    – The first thing you want to do is make sure the ground is raised. See how I put a 6 inch cement platform? That’s similar to per code in most cities. You want to do this for your box for two reasons.
    1) The cement is even. So the plastic isnt going to warp out causing large gaps on base
    2) If your area has flooding, even if half a inch, and there is a gap you are going to get water in the box

This box is not to just drop on the grass somewhere behind your yard. If you actually do that anyway then silicone the base inside and out to give yourself a fighting chance. Placing it on a flat service that doesnt flood is the key.

    – The direct sun is no problem. What I did was purchase a bottle of UV protection spray here on amazon and put it on the areas that gets sun. I do this once every few months and keep it in the bin and use it when I remember to. Still looks brand new.

I searched through each and every deckbox/ storage shed on Amazon. I was originally steered away from this product because it is so inexpensive. I wanted to pay more for the best possible solution. After receiving it I couldnt be more happy.

    Assembly:
    – Make sure when sliding the side together you are doing it correctly. Its easy, but put some muscle in it to create a locked in fit.
    – You should use a socket attachment. Whether its a socket wrench, a socket attachment to your screw driver, or to your drill… just go to the hardware store and pick one up for a couple bucks. Its worth it and I can promise you many of the disgruntled assembly reviews must come from someone who tried to use a screw driver.

-Your lid is closing unevenly? – You didnt assemble it incorrectly. Just make sure the box is on an even surface. I believed my lid was on an even surface but when noticing the lid not closing perfectly (slightly to the left) I placed it on what I knew to be for sure an even surface it the lid closed perfectly.

    Recommendations:
    – Silicone caulking has been recommended by others but I havent needed to since I raised mine on flat surface.
    – A UV protectant spray.
    – A socket attachment for assembly

    *Important note:
It is more difficult to assemble than something like an Ikea furniture set. It will take someone handy just minutes to do it but if you are not handy assembling this deckbox might slightly irritate you.

If you need a deck box get this one.

Best solution - sun and rain - but...
