Great box ONCE IT IS ASSEMBLED
The box itself is well-made and sturdy. I can’t comment on the waterproofing of it as others have, because I live in a very dry climate so that’s not really an issue.

The biggest problem I had was with the assembly. It requires multiple tools, including an electric drill and a socket wrench — both of which I have, but others might not. (They didn’t even include a simple flat wrench to hold the nuts while tightening screws, something which I did NOT have and ended up using an adjustable wrench for.) There were no lead holes drilled for the screws, making getting them in place an ordeal. Third, the instructions were very poorly written — on one diagram, about installing screws, there were circles around two of the holes, but the circles were indicating where NOT to put the screws! Another diagram shows the “orientation” of the nuts and bolts in one part, but doesn’t actually say to put them in. There were other problems, too.

Overall, a job that should have taken 20-30 minutes tops took me 1.5 hours, and I’m not a newbie at this. Like I said, the box itself is very well made, but if I had known what a pain the assembly was going to be I might have gone with a different option.

    Difficult to Assemble the lid
Fixing the lid to this product is more difficult than it needs to be. Once constructed its a good storage unit, but the assembly would put me off recommending it to others

I read several reviews before ordering and figured I would give it a shot. It sat in the box for 6 months and I just got around to putting this thing together. EASY!! You will need an extra had or something to hold the lid up while you get the screws started. A little tip: I had to use some channel lock pliers to push the hinge bolts in or you can use a step drill but to clean out the holes. I used some window trim silicone on the inside because that’s all I had. I will get some clear tomorrow and seal up all around the outside. I think this box will work well for storing all my stuff and keep most all the bugs and water out. I will be adding some of the moisture absorbent tubs used for boats just to keep the humidity down.

This storage box is well made, and now that I have it assembled it appears to be weatherproof. I put it together without any help, and found that fitting the front and back to the bottom (fitting tabs into slots) can be difficult. Spraying the slots with silicone spray helped, but I still had to use a rubber mallet to "influence" the parts into fitting together tightly. Also, I believe I did have to drill a hole where either the needed hole was in the wrong place, or not there at all. But that was a minor inconvenience for anyone with a basic set of homeowner tools. Overall I am pleased with the box. It is a lot bigger than the old Suncast box it replaced (which finally succumbed to years of sunlight - the lid cracked), closes securely, and has not leaked so far despite several days with heavy rain. I would buy it again.

    1 person assembly
The instructions show that two people are needed. I am age 76 (and feeling it) but managed it by myself, both assembling it indoors and moving it out!
It looks good in my back garden.
Recommended – if the size is adequate for what is needed

    Good customer service
The side panels would not slide into the base. After troubleshooting with LIFETIME customer support they sent us a new base which arrived within a few days! This time assembly went smoothly. However, having an extra set of hands and some muscle will make assembly much easier with one person holding parts in place while the other is assembling pieces with screws. Be sure to have the recommended tools on hand before you begin!
We store patio furniture cushions/pillows and backyard toys in the box. Our box sits on a covered patio so I cannot say if it is “waterproof” but all parts fit tightly together so it should do well keeping moisture and bugs out. It’s a great box with plenty of room for larger items.

    Definitely need an electric drill!
Excellent quality for what you are paying; and it looks even better in real life. The parts are all numbered for easy installation, but you do need a (powerful) electric drill to get this assembled properly, since a lot of the nails have to go through parts of plastic that do not have holes in them. It also says that it’s not actually waterproof, but weatherproof so time will tell if it can handle British winters.

So far so good, its full now and we have a waterproof cover on it.
So i suppose we’ll see when the winter is over.
Easy to put together and feels very sturdy. We did silicone all the joints to be doubly sure though ( but thats just us) it is outdoors, back to a small wall, under a tree. So here’s hoping !.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThe latest version of the 6 x 3.5 ft Lifetime Storage Box 191.1 x 108 x 132 cm
For my full unboxing, build and review on you tube search Boomerboy Lifetime.

I note there are reviews on earlier versions, this is a review on the latest 6 x 3.5ft (191.1 x 108 x 132 cm) version that I’ve pictured.

This is about as sturdy and secure as plastic can be. The roof is on gas struts, so goes up and down easily (a bit like a car tailgate).

The roof needs to be opened slightly to allow the doors to be opened, that’s good for security, but is an extra step when opening and closing.

Build takes about half a day, there are 134 nuts, bolts and screws to put together. A screwgun / drill is a must, with a decent screwdrive to finally torque it by hand.

The Recommended Retail Price (RRP) is too high for this product in my view, if your track Amazon you will save 10%-15% and it becomes decent value around 375.

The final product is simple to use, kids can open and close it easily. Just add your own padlock and it’s all good to go!!!

    Good product but build issues
Product is good when assembled, but beware the telescopic struts, I don’t know whether it was just mine or not, but the metal ‘spring’ pieces inside the female socket on the struts would not clip over the male pieces on the bracket, even worse they folded inwards more and made the job virtually impossible. If I didn’t have a well equipped workshop I would never have got these on.

A great, if fiddly to assemble, storage shed
Likes: this shed is big! Excellent storage and nice and sturdy once assembled. The kit pieces are all well organised and nothing was missing. The instructions were pretty clear to follow besides a couple of steps, which we could ultimately work out. Which takes me to….
Dislikes: man oh man this took a while to put together, and I know my way around flat pack items! You’re going to need a decent drill for this with a decent battery life. The majority of the screws went in fine, but the self tapping screws were a nightmare. In the end I had to use a metal drill bit to create some pilot holes. Also in section 2 the stages I think there was a manufacturing error because the holes for the screws in the metal support beams were WAY too small which, you guessed it, I had to get the metal drill bit out for again and widen them. Not a huge deal as I had the parts and enjoy DIY, but if you don’t- purchase at your own risk!

Overall, despite taking a while to put together I’m really happy with this shed, its sturdy and is going to last a while!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGreat storage box for pool equipment and patio cushions. I also store my patio umbrellas. The box snaps together and the instructions are very helpful. It can be assembled with one person but will need two people to move it there after. It is plastic so one may need to wrestle with the parts to get the holes to line up. Some parts screw together and other parts snap together. It is easier with a power driver. The bottom and sides are not water tight so in the event of flooding (my boxes are often sitting in 3-4 inches of rain water run off), water and mud can seep in from the bottom seams and corners. I sealed up the corners and the edge around the base with standard silicone caulk - even heavy flooding won't allow water inside now. Standard heavy rain will not affect the contents so no caulk is probably not needed for most folks. Lifetime customer support is superb; I received one box with missing hardware and they sent the replacement parts immediately. Mine have been exposed to direct sun light for over 7 years and there has been some staining from dirt but overall color has not faded and the plastic still looks great. My kids will sit on the lid and it still retains it's shape. Well made and durable storage boxes. I own four!

    Good size shed
I found it a bit difficult to assemble but once assembled it’s a good sized and sturdy shed.

One of the drill bits provided by the manufacturer broke at first use and I had to purchase another one to finish the job but Amazon kindly offered a discount to reimburse me so all in all happy with the purchase.

Good and easy to build. Make sure to have a drill.
Very happy with this. Assembly is extremely well thought. I know you will find reviews saying that it was hard because of having to drill a couple of holes, but the instructions are so clear that this is not an issue.

Everything is very clearly labeled, making it easy to know what is the next step and what do you need for it.

If you want a nitpicky fact, you need to open the door slowly if it just rained or you will get a bit of water right by the door, going no further than a couple of inches.

    Quality produc
The box was easy to assemble with two people for an extra pair of hands. Very sturdy, very large and looks attractive. We use for storing garden pots and compost etc. Also handy for sitting on in the morning sun as placed near to our back door. Would definitely buy this brand again. Only minor picky criticism is that with the torrential rain we have had, the water pools on the top instead of rolling off, as the lid is flat instead of sloped or curved. Dries off quickly enough though.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersVery Pleased
So far, very pleased with this item. Did not find any problems putting it together and took about 90 minutes with a refreshment break. Finished product is very sturdy, attractive (forget the ‘brown’ description, it’s two shades of grey), and takes a lot of outdoor kit for storage. My only recommendation is that with these larger boxes, the central locking point is fine for summer weather, but it needs additional latches (they don’t need to be locking) on the front corners to make sure that the lid is held down that last cm all the way along. May fix my own on. Otherwise, very good.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGreat shed, straightforward to assemble
Having read many of the other reviews before I ordered this, I was pleasantly suprised how easy it was to assemble.
The instructions are clear and (if you ready them carefully) explain every part of the construction. Some people have complained about drilling metal and things not aligning or having to clear off excess plastic. The assembly kit includes drill bits and screwdriver heads and there was no waste material on my kit.. There is only one drill through metal and it was very easy with the pilot guides given. I completed assembly on my own although it would be useful to have someone else on hand when hanging the doors. For this price I think the quality and documentation is excellent. You will need an electric drill and a socket wrench or ring spanner (11mm) that’s all.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersPlenty of room and sturdy.
Sturdy enough to sit on, holds loads of items, room for a decent lock and took me about two hours to put together. The heavy lid is awkward to hold in place really needs two people to make it easier to screw into position. Could do with pilot holes drilled to make it easier hence 4 Stars otherwise it is a good storage box.

Arrived with no assembly instructions. Contacted the seller, who then referred me to the manufacturer. Eventually sent a hard copy of the assembly instructions by the seller but had managed to obtain a Pdf from the American manufacturer. Took 2 hours to put together. Very pleased with the end product which is very sturdy and looks great. it does let in some water at the base of the door but ok for what I wanted it for. Seller needs to make sure instructions are included and be able to deliver Pdf not a posted set of instructions.

Like all of this kind of item , a bit confusing when first out of the box, identifying which bit is which. However, once that is sorted it went together quite easily, but we have made something similar before.
It does seem weatherproof in the current storms. It is sturdy… but we have put it in the corner of the garden so against wall/ fence.
loses marks for no shelves. This would be the most helpful addition.

Good box and a great after sales service
This is the second of these boxes that I have ordered but the first through Sales United. So I knew what I was getting with the box. When I saw a very competitive price for the box I ordered this second one. I use them to store patio furniture cushions in.

Unfortunately this second one had two parts for the lock missing. This is not the fault of Sales United as the package is a sealed unit. Sales United did follow it up with Lifetime, the manufacturer, on my behalf and the parts were dispatched directly to me. Lifetime were slow to react but not Sales United who provided good after sales support. I would be more than happy to use them again.

Well designed, spacious and robust waterproof outside store.
This outside store is really well designed and constructed and provides lots of storage space. The store is made of moulded plastic with steel reinforcements in certain areas to increase its strength and it is just what we required for our application.
    Two points to note:
    1) The store needs to be built from a flat pack of components and it is very important to follow the instructions methodically, some items are not very easy or clear to identify, but can it can be done by a process of elimination.
    2) The store needs to be both constructed and then mounted on a proper flat and level surface, otherwise the doors will not close properly.
It takes several hours of work to build it up and some parts are best done with two people, as the components are quite heavy to lift and hold in position.

Sturdy box, great for camping equipme
Bought this to keep our new tent in to keep the mice away. I’ve put it in the garage and it’s perfect for storing a large tent bag & accessories.

Assembly was fine, built it by myself. I had to use a socket set to get some of the screws & bolts in, but other than that no problems.

Note that the very last page of the instructions says that it isn’t waterproof! Bit surprising as it’s supposed to be an outdoor box, I can’t see why it wouldn’t be though. I’m keeping it in the garage anyway, so not really an issue.

    Sturdy storage box
Slight corner damage to the lid on arrival. NOT due to good quality cardboard, but must have been shipped like this? Not an issue as the box is for outdoor storage of garden cushions only. Good instructions and even better video. However, would advise not to attempt construction without all tools listed. One issue I had was the fact that the hinge slots in the cabinet itself do not align with the hinge arms, so some “adaptation” was needed to say the very least!!! Good job that I am a retired builder with nunmerous tools from the old days, otherwise goodness knows what I would have done. The measurements from centre to centre of the slots and the actual hinge area are literally well out!

Outstanding quality. Great value for your money. Just one tiny issue. If your assembling it alone like I was, you do need additional tools such as clamps to help align sections while fitting bolts/screws. Storage for the rear of my narrowboat which also acts as a seat while cruising! Tough and sturdy unlike many cheaper versions. You get what you pay for. This is great.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersEasy to assemble if you have the right tools
I suggest that you have a rubber mallet and a drill with Phillips head screwdriver bit to assemble this unit. Except where machine bolts are used the panels are not pre-drilled but marked with triangle indentations where the sheet metal screws are to be installed.

The front and back panels have tabs which fit into the base of the storage box and then are slid to the right to lock them in (this is where a rubber mallet might be useful). The right and left side panels didn’t appear to be marked left or right. They also have tabs and they each fold to form a portion of the front and rear panels. Just make sure the two holes at the top of side panels are attached closest to the rear panel – that’s how you determine right from left panels – as those holes support the hinges for the top. After securing the panels to the bottom with the sheet metal screws – you need to flip the box over and use the remaining sheet metal screws to screw the tabs their are protruding through the base to the base. Again the tabs are not pre-drilled for the screws – so a drill with a screwdriver bit is useful.

Hope this is helpful. Assembly time is probably around an hour and a half with the proper tools.

Gas springs difficult to attach if not careful
The assembly was not to bad, but you do need spanners or adjustables for some of the operations. I found the gas springs very difficult to attach to their location. Nearly broke one trying to push it on. Not sure if there is a knack or I just didn’t line it up right. Probably a little expensive but it feels like it will last a long time, so in the end will hopefully prove to be worth the money.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWell Built and Definitely Storm Proof
I needed to replace an older deck box that not only leaked with a cover on it, but was often a home for mice over the winter. I looked at several boxes on Amazon/Sams/online and this box seemed to have a preponderance of good reviews for being rodent proof and weather resistant.

Assembly was fairly easy, although I did manage to snap one of the bolts used for the latch bar. The manufacturer did not include any spares, but it was a common size and I had one that similar in size that worked OK. I did not use any sealant on the seams, as there were several reviewers that testified to the weatherproof properties of the box without using any sealer. I did not have any help, but the box was fairly easy to maneuver around to work in all the fasteners.

The first night sitting on the deck full of cushions we had a major series of thunderstorms roll through with high winds and several inches of rain. I checked the next day and everything in the box was dry and there was no evidence of any moisture in the bottom.

Overall I am very impressed with the design and construction of this storage box.

Great storage box and great for sitting/ lying on, too!
We’re using the box as an outdoor storage box of all sorts of bits and pieces. It’s really roomy and it’s watertight. Initially I put everything inside into plastic boxes, but I’ve realised that’s unnecessary because we’ve had a few downpours and the rain is not getting in! It’s a really sturdy piece of kit: we now sit on it when we have breakfast in the backyard. Really pleased with it. And all you need to put it up are screwdrivers and spanners.

Unlike other users, I’d say the assembly instructions are OK, but it does take time and is a faff – especially fitting the gas struts. My son-in-law spent a couple of hours unpacking and assembling and it all went slowly according to plan, but fitting the gas struts was difficult! Instructions said “push fit” but it’s much more than that! Otherwise seems a good solid box. NB description says “weather and water resistant seal, but instructions say clearly “This is not waterproof” – what’s the use of an outside storage box which is not weatherproof!

Easy one man assembly - great box
Have a large LIfetime trash can storage unit/shed at the end of my driveway. Put that together myself over one year ago and except for some slight initial warping on the rear roof corners from sitting in the hot Sun on a sloping asphalt driveway, it is solid. Figured the same build design process would be used for this and naturally being a good bit smaller it proved to be an easier build than the larger shed.

Parts are well thought out and require pre-drilling of holes in only one location. That would be the 4 rear support bar holes. They leave them that way because there is no real way for them to drill them without marking up the material…and making you drive them results in a tighter fit anyway, at the angle that best suits your particular driver. As always, only use a much smaller bit for guide purposes so the screw threads will fit much tighter and require less checking over time for any slippage. Other than that is all easy peesy and aside from the sheer bulk size of it, the box is not heavy to move.

Oh, one other thing, do not be thrown off by the hinges being the same exact design (no right vs left) for the mounting space alloted at the rear. Using the same design means one of the hinges (your choice of side) will make for a snugger fit with one of the front corners when closing the lid. The tolerances are such there should be no pressure warping issue and in any event there is a lockdown area provided.

Putting it together was actually a cinch
I wanted to write this review as some of the complaints within Amazon reviews about assembling this product nearly scared me off. I don’t know if Lifetime changed something, but assembly was a cinch (albeit a bit time-consuming). All the hardware fit, and I used my power tools and ratchets. No issues with deformed plastic or bolts that didn’t fit.

Installation aside, the space in the 130-gallon is PHENOMENAL. This unit is in my garage and it hides all of our gardening gear, all of our bike gear, and a bunch of our sporting goods and there is STILL half the box left over. In the beige color, it’s also neutral enough not to stand out, and the size and shape are perfect for my garage.

Out of sight, out of mind, and ORGANIZED.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersAssembly requires more than basic tools
    ASSEMBLY
If you’re expecting just a philips screw driver and some allen keys, you’re in for a surprise. Assembly isn’t particularly difficult, but I don’t imagine most people will have the tools needed to put this together. No tools are included by the way. I recommend getting someone with a set of legit tools before assembly. Luckily I have all this stuff, but it still took me a few trips up and down the stairs back and forth to/from my garage to gather up everything I needed. Hope the attached pic will help you.

You’ll need a socket wrench set. Or at the very least, two wrenches of various sizes b/c you need to secure one nut while turning a bolt at the same time. A power drill is a must and it needs to have an impact driver function b/c there are no pilot holes in the hard plastic that you’re drilling into.

Pro tip: hold the lid vertically and drill the screws down towards the ground to give yourself more leverage. If you don’t have a drill and plan to do this by hand, you’ll rip out your hair before you get it done and your wrist will wish you used it to drive to a store to buy one if you don’t already have one handy.

I just finished assembling this in a bit less than 1 hour w/o much fuss so I haven’t had a chance to test the waterproof capability of this deck box. I’ll report back later after any rain.

    QUALITY:
It’s hard plastic, but it’s good hard plastic. Higher grade than the full size plastic kitchen sets your kids play with at preschool. What I’m saying is that it’s legit. No issues with the quality of the plastic. The closing hinges are gas hinges which is a nice step up from anything more basic.

Golden Review Award: 22 From Our UsersHigh Quality Sturdy Box - Don't Need Lots Of Tools Eithe
After being disappointed with a box I ordered from Argos, I pushed the boat out on the Lifetime 492 litre box and I have to say that’s amazing. I was worried when other reviews said they needed power tools to build it (I have zero man skills) but thought it looked worth the effort… and it is! The box is very rigid, sturdy and well made. The instructions are pretty simple and there’s a QR code so you can view the installation videos online too. The box panels slide in and are secured by screws so that part is easy… it’s the lid that takes the installation time! Again this wasn’t too fiddly and I didn’t need a socket wrench to tighten the nuts, just the right sized screwdriver (you need a 10 and a 17 I believe). Well worth every penny and much better than other boxes out there!

Golden Review Award: 64 From Our UsersVery Large
Looking at deck boxes, I was debating if I needed to spend the large sum of money for the 150 gallon, those are significantly more expensive. Let me say, this 130 gallon is very large. Many people are familiar with the size of a 50 gallon drum, well this is more than two and a half of those barrels big. It’s huge.

Assembly is not bad. You do need wrenches and sockets… both as when you use the socket, you need a wrench on the other side. Metric is what is called for. With some patients, I got it together with minimal stress, but there are a few issues.

First, Lifetime could easily standardize the bolt and nut sizes. It requires three different size wrenches and sockets. They could have just make everything 10mm in order to simplify the process and reduce the number of tools you need to pull out.

Second, the bottom was ever so slightly bowed. When sliding the sides into the bottom, I had so put my weight onto the pieces in order to make sure all of the tabs fit into place. I recommend flipping it upside down after you install the side panels to make sure all of the clips engaged.

Third, some of the holes still had too much plastic covering them. The screws are self tapping and go right through the plastic. But the bolts would not. I had to grab a drill bit and ream the holes out in order to fit the bolts through. It’s not a big deal, but it could set you back if your not used to problem solving like this.

I am very happy with this deck box. Products like this are Lifetime’s bread and butter, they just build very robust plastic containers. If you found my review helpful, please let me know by pressing that button.

    Great Outdoor Storage
This box has excellent storage capability and seem very durable. I keep my gardening equipment in there along with outdoor cushions during bad weather. It doesn’t blow away in heavy winds and no moisture inside. I do recommend a lock of some sorts to keep the lid fastened to the box because it may catch wind and flip open.

The drawback was the assembly. The directions seem a bit unclear and I had to figure things out even when watching the manufacturer videos. Because of there are no pre-drilled holes for the screws it was very difficult for me to screw some portions of the box and a drill just wouldn’t work. I even had to get my wife inside the box to screw a few screws in during the assembly. Putting this huge box together was too difficult considering it was mostly thick plastic. A novice like me can assemble this but it took longer than expected.

I bought a second one. The quality has dropped slightly.
I really liked my first one and I’d guess I’ve had it for six years. The second one appears identical however the quality control seems to have slipped. The lid had a very shallow inch wide gouge in it. Which for an outdoor box is easy to ignore. Where the quality control was harder to ignore was during assembly. The box is a peg and notch style assembly. Repeatedly you line up the pegs, with their corresponding notches, then slide and lock them place. The sides probably took an hour of trial, error, and hammering with a large rubber mallet to manhandle into position. The lid has a reinforcing bar that requires two people to position properly. The hinges became a problem where they bolted onto the box. The holes, in the box, for the bolts hadn’t been drilled out properly. After re-drilling them I was able to mount the hinges.

I’m glad to have the second box but I wish it hadn’t been such a project to assemble.

    Seems very sturdy
Of the four deck boxes I have bought and assembled, this one is the sturdiest. Assembly was straight forward, but definitely more involved than the others. I think it may have been designed a few years ago when customers were expected to have a grasp of using/owning a few tools. Lots of screws that required Phillips head screwdriver, and some hardware that required 2 different sizes of open end wrenches and sockets (7/16″ and 1/2″). I’m only mentioning this because some of the other deck boxes didn’t require any tools. That said, I think it makes for a stronger longer lasting unit. Very happy with it so far. Assembly took about 40 minutes mostly because I didn’t read ahead and have the tools needed on hand. You’ll need 7/16″ and 1/2″ open end wrenches, and sockets, a ratchet, #2 Phillips head screw driver, a hammer and block of wood where it might need some gentle percussive persuasion,
and if you’re old like me, good lighting. Enjoy the build.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersThe 3 Most Dreaded Words...Awful Instructions
…Some Assembly Required. What an odyssey!

The journey began with a bad omen: UPS delivered the deck box in what at one time must have been a shipping box. It was so badly tattered that was where no more than a collection of cardboard strips. I should have taken the hint. Being the intrepid type I journeyed on.

After dragging the thing to the back deck it became immediately obvious that all the hardware was missing. What to do?

Called Amazon and asked them just to send a hardware kit. “No can do.” The solution is to send a completely new unit. I am to remove the hardware, reseal the carton, and have UPS pick it up.

Adding to the joy, it poured down rain last night and what was once something that resembled a shipping carton is now nothing more that a sopping wad of paper. Maybe I shall just put the mess on the front porch and have UPS pick it up as is and keep the new unit.

Moving on: BEWARE of Step 2.2 & 2.3 (page 15 & 16 of manual). Positioning the metal Lid Support is a nightmare. Neither the Video (which for the most part is pretty good) nor the printed Assembly Instructions adequately identify the critical positioning of the Lid Support (Part# EZA) so that the Lid Locking Tab (Part# EYY) is set correctly. We found out only after we completed the box assembly.

Today, we are going to attempt to flip/reposition the Lid Support without disassembling the entire Lid (Part# AND). This process includes removing the 6 screws (Part# BCK). What a mess!

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersGreat Box, easy to assemble and HUGE
I don’t understand how anyone could complain that this box is too difficult to assemble. The instructions are in several languages and include excellent, easy-to-follow, diagrams and drawings. The hardware is drawn full size so it’s nearly impossible to make a mistake. The instructions have nice little touches such as warnings to NOT put hardware in certain holes.

It was well packed and I was able to assemble it by myself in 40 minutes. If you can’t change a light bulb, don’t try to assemble this box. But if you can make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, you’ll be just fine. You don’t even have to read. I went strictly by the diagrams since the written instructions are not really needed, but they’re a nice bonus.

The engineering is good and the box has a good strength-to-weight ratio. I bought another one three years ago for swimming pool gear and it’s completely weather proof and looks brand new in spite of being in the sun and weather.

    HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Golden Review Award: 15 From Our UsersDifficult to assemble but great once done.
I must agree with others that it’s difficult to assemble.

Putting the base and sides together is a doddle, but it’s the screws and bolts attached to the lid and hinges which have wrong sized pilot holes or none at all.

I used a drill to widen these holes and those on the lid brackets and with a bit of brute force I managed to get it assembled ok. It took a good couple of hours though.

Once finished the box is huge and looks great, more of a minimal style than most that either look like wood or rattan.

The hydraulic lid hinges are really good and the lid opens and closes smoothly and slowly. It also clicks shut reassuringly and I can tell the whole thing will be 100% waterproof and will hopefully last a lifetime.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersRugged Construction, Waterproof make sure you have the right tools to assemble it!
Delivery time to the UK is a matter of weeks! The product comes flat packed and once assembled appears to be fully waterproof and made from rugged plastic. The build instructions are clear and videos are provided to watch if you get stuck. I would definitely recommend this product.

Just some notes on assembling the storage box.
    a) Make sure there are 2 of you! It is heavy and much easier to assemble with 2 pairs of hands.

    b) You will need a set of IMPERIAL spanners and socket set or at least an adjustable spanner. (See point c) They give metric equivalents but these are not exact and the sockets WILL slip when tightening the bolts.

    c) The bolts screw through a metal plate and into plastic. They are designed to cut a thread into the metal and so are very tight to start and keep vertical. Hence the need for the correct tools. Some of the bolts are in quite an inconvenient position to get at.

    d) If your helper holds the panels so you can screw down vertically this makes life a lot easier.

    e) Allow about 2 hours to put it togethe

O.K. The number one thing everyone needs to know; Are the assembly instructions easy to follow, the answer is yes, they are precise and clear.
If your a dab hand at flatpack you can manage on your own, but I’d recommend two people. Not so much a weight issue more a I need three hands now and then.
It went together cleanly, needing only a gentle tap with a hammer to get one panel to sit properly.
Have a power drill handy. The holes are marked with dimples and the heavy duty plastic is easy enough to drill. (They do supply the correct size drill bit and screwdriver bit)
Only other slight problem was the aperture for a metal rail, in both of the two side panels, they were a little tight, just a injection moulding niggle, easy to clean it up with a craft knife.
Overall very pleased with this product.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI’m satisfied with all aspects of this storage unit. You do need two people to put this together and we got it done in about an hour. This plastic is top quality, high density, I can imagine it lasting at least 5 years with no issue. There is a 10 year warranty on the item I recommend keeping the manual and receipts. The 150 gallon is massive, the sand color is more light beige than tan. Sturdy enough to be used as a bench. By following the instructions to the “T” everything fit correctly. The only suggestion I would give for putting this together, the bottom tabs where you drill the screws in, I recommend making very small drill holes first and it becomes a lot easier to get the screws in. The hydraulic struts, I recommend greasing them and also to get a sealant for extra protection from moisture. This is one of the few storage bins I’ve seen that is weather and water resistant. Placed our deck. It is heavy. I’m so happy!
