Is great, but not for beginners
The stock router that came with my broadband was quite poor: WiFi was patchy upstairs and it would cause frequent buffering when streaming on some services. Now that I’m fully up and running with this router all those problems are fully solved.
However, getting the settings right initially was tricky (some of the information online wasn’t right), but the free-of-charge support from Netgear was very helpful. I then had to contact support again as the router would spontaneously reboot. Again very helpful and once the firmware upgrade was available, that problem too is fully resolved.
So it is great, but it’s not necessarily a 5-minute swap job.
Well Iv owned this Router now just a little over 1 month and fingers crossed iv not experienced and of the issues with all the negative complaints with regards to “constantly rebooting” or “WiFi drop outs” .To be honest WiFi drop outs are absolutely subjective anyway I just came from a Linksys MR9600 WiFi 6 router and that also suffered from drop outs now and then . This NETGEAR (RAX170) router is battleship build quality and compared to the Linksys android app which is pretty decent the NETGEAR Nighthawk app and very impressive and my professional .
Amazon covers all their electronic equipment with a standard 2 year warranty direct with them regardless of what you get with a manufacturer. However NETGEAR gives you 2 Warranty with them .On top of that NETGEAR gave me offers as I was setting up my new router you could go for extending the warranty with them for a further 1 year so 3 year extended warranty and for a decent price to me of 11.09 !!!..If you went for both Hardware & full software support it was only 36 for both which is still pretty darn good. As I work in IT & electronics industry myself I am quite adept to technical and software aspects of the router so for me I only needed Hardware cover .What NETGEAR also give you as Part of that hardware cover is accidental damage which could be very useful unless you have house insurance contents cover that covers you for accidental damage anyway.
So for me if I start noticing any issues starting on my Netgear router random reboots of ridiculous amounts of WiFi drops then I have a warranty to use that what’s it their for.
All my previous routers suffered from “occasional” WiFi dropouts theirs nothing unusual in that and if the router just now and then randomly reboots itself then not worth the fuss sending it back just for that .
However it it became far more severe and it was a constant issue happening all the time every day then yes definitely I would get it swapped out or change it for another model at worse case scenario.

Huge improvement in download speed, the BT Home Hub 2 never reached more then 600Mbos, my first speed check with the Nighthawk and the download speed is over 900Mbps, my WiFi app shows a line speed of 1200Mbps, the same app used with the Home Bub 2 never showed a speed higher than 868Mbps. The router is currently balanced in a box behind the tele, when it’s properly set up I imagine speeds will increase again.
Well worth the money and easy to set up using the app – luckily I didn’t have to use an ethernet cable to connect my laptop, I have a DELL XPS 15 which doesn’t have an ethernet port, the app was fine for the complete set up.

Going from Wifi5 to Wifi6 was a major improvement and solved many issues including increasing the wifi range by a good 25-30%. Very happy with this router.

I share a house with 4 others, all of which have a mix of mobile phones, tablets, laptops and streaming services, all running at the same time. I also need a reliable broadband connection for home working. I have to say, whilst this is an expensive product, it has absolutely blown me away with both the reliability and strength of the signal throughout the house. The router was configured in around 15 minutes using a guided process in the Nighthawk app, after setting the broadband router (VM Hub 4) to modem mode. I have 1Gb broadband from Virgin, which was previously connected to 3 mesh routers that could supply around 50-75Mbps in the furthest corners of the house. This has now risen to a respectable 250-300Mbps, through several walls and a flight of stairs. When close to the router, this often exceeds 1Gbps, so I’m finally getting what I’m paying for! One thing to bear in mind, this is a huge router. With the antenna attached it has roughly the same footprint as a 15.6 laptop, so bear this in mind when placing it. It does have a very sci fi look to it, and the leds can be disabled in settings if you have it on show. I have now been able to run the entire house off just the router alone, so in my opinion, if you want fast, reliable and future proofed WiFi, this is worth the initial outlay. Wired connectivity is also catered for with 4 2.5 Gbps Lan ports and two USB 3.0 ports.
After a lot of research, I come across this little (well not so little) router.
The design makes it the centre of attention in the living room and gets everyone asking what it is!
For most people a standard router will do the job, but if you’re into gaming or have a lot of devices connected like a smart home then this is for you!
The biggest selling points for me were the port aggregation (I have a NAS drive as a media server so this allows 2 ports to be bonded to make a 2gb port) and the multi gig port is an added bonus!
The coverage of this router is mind blowing, I live in a large 3 bedroom detached house with a good sized garden and I can receive full signal throughout the house and still pretty decent signal to the end of the garden so I think this would easily cover a large 4 bedroom house if positioned correctly!
I have virgin media and unfortunately you can’t just replace the existing router – you can however set the virgin router into modem mode and it works a treat with little setup required!
This router comes with an app which gives you a good overview however this is a little limited so if you need to do configuration this can be done via the Web GUI.
Overall if you’re into gaming or running a small enterprise from home this will do the job and more! The build is solid and it just simply works with no glitches!

Had issue in my house with WiFi, tried some different mesh systems and such. Finally just went back to tried and true Netgear. Easy set up, and great security! Now I have great coverage and AWEOSME speeds. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Upgrading my dual bad router to the Nighthawk AX8 tri-band doubled my wifi speeds. I have 500 mbps fiber service and I’m getting 400 mbps all over my house with this. I have around 30 connected devises and have no buffering or lag with anything. Setup took 5 minutes.

We have a 2400′ home that both of us work from with multiple laptops running daily, not to mention the Ring, Sleep Number Bed, and 2 smart TVs including one outdoors on the patio. Our last router needed range extenders and even they didn’t work. All our devices are at full wi-fi mojo now, and I can even get range at my neighbor’s yards! Hassle-free setup with the Nighthawk app, and we’re happy suburban campers again!

Easy to setup through the app although the items you can change in the app are limited. You really do need Web access to get to the nitty gritty stuff.
Updated: If you have intermittent disconnection issues, take a back up of your settings and make sure to do a factory reset. Latest firmware in combination with the reset has given me a rock solid connection. The price I notice has dropped significantly too. The only reason I’m not giving a 5 star review is the initial set up was not straightforward – that initial backup will help things though. Original review follows… Still testing on WiFi 6 products, but in general use the WiFi intermittently disconnects from earlier versions as reported by many users, reporting no internet. Speeds are good though making the most of broadband connections, but unlike Netgear cheap as chips D6400 which I still love, this needs some firmware TLC. I’ve tried running a laptop cooler underneath and have it raised up several inches to allow decent airflow and neither helps. If you don’t have a lot of WiFi 6 devices, this may not be for you especially given the premium price.
The new router was paired with the Netgear CM 1200 Modem and I immediately saw a jump in speeds to 200 Mbs when I was lucky to get 40 before on a 300 mbs cable plan with Xfinity. Great signal but a big uni
Has filled a 4 bed house with a strong signal. It is good that it shares out the wifi over 3 transmitter to whoever needs it most that you can monitor on the app.

Fix my virgin superhub 4 issues
Brought this product AX8 RAX70 to address my bad Wi-Fi, LAN and jitter issues with my virgin superhub 4. Highest test speed I got right next to the virgin router was 500Mbps at best on my iPhone. Running in modem mode and letting this take care of the routing now getting 800Mbps on Wi-Fi at last finally getting the speeds I pay virgin for and not having to reboot everyday as it was killing my Skype / teams meetings due to jitter. Even in the bedrooms I’m now getting 600-700mbps with my iPhone 11.
Had a quick look at the subscription features ok but the parental guard has limits and you have to pay to unlock premium features but the basic stuff is fine for what I need.
Downloaded the app and the set up was really easy, was up and running in minutes, spent more time getting virgin hub to run in modem mode. Once configured you have to leave the super hub off for 5-10 so the MAC address cache clears from virgin side (virgin don’t tell you this) and also don’t connect RAX70 to the hub.
The app is fine for your basic everyday needs but your need to go into the web interface to do the final config parts like having all the bandwidths as one SSID or separate them.
Overall impressed with it so far fix my terrible issues with virgin which I thought going to have to leave virgin.

Je m’y connais pas trop en rseau , dbit , box , rpteur , routeur , ect … j’ai opt pour plusieurs appareils mais seul celui-ci a vraiment rgler le problme de wifi la maison ! Connect par cable ethernet la box principale situ l’autre bout de la maison : rsultat , une vitesse de connexion hallucinante ( 3x plus qu’avec la box principale) dans une zone initalement hors de porte du signal. Juste la porte du signal en qui est pas incroyable mais vrai sinon satisfaction totale !!

Tout juste install, routeur mis l’tage pour distribuer le wifi et connexions filaires, l o le signal de la box situe au RDC ne parvenait pas. Les tests sont trs prometteurs, les connexions wifi avec Smartphone passe de 71 460 Mbps et pour les ordinateurs auparavant connects en CPL, passe de 12 plus 800 Mbps, que du bonheur. Je recommande. Pas encore plong dans les rglages du routeur.

I purchased two Netgear extenders and now have full wifi coverage throughout the whole house with no blackspots. It was easy to set up although there were a few technical blips, nothing I could not sort out myself and once set up I don’t need to do a thing. I have had the router for a week and it is managing the traffic really well. We stream a lot and game on PC and Xbox series X and so far we have not noticed any lag or buffering at all. A much improved service that the VM hub 3.0. The armour security app also gives a lot of reassurance as it checks each device connected to the network for weaknesses and attempts to access. We also use the Web protection that blocks malicious sites and it seems to work better than my Norton online security. I am very pleased, thank you Netgea

Does exactly what it says on the box. Great functionality, the high speed wifi 6 is a dream. The antennas are strong enough for the 5ghz band to cover a 3 storey home and then some. Mobile app is great, so you can edit settings on the go. Overall very impressed.

Totally fed up with Virgin’s Supplied router on the WiFi side of things ( a “Chocolate Tea Pot”). Solution NETGEAR AX-1800 it has whistles and bells but just have a single Access Point to start with linked with the Nighthawk sw it’s a breeze you can monitor each individual devices connection speed check vulnerabilities add a separate guest sign-in and a lot more. Yes of course you can split the band’s but let the RAX10 do all this for you. Great bit of kit well worth the money-Do yourself a favour let it take all the stress away!!

It also provides a signal that covers my house and garden which pleases me as I am not a fan of mesh solutions.
I have been with TP-Link for a long time, recently switched to NETGEAR AX1800 WiFi Router (RAX10), this has been a great experience so far, easy to setup and offers fantastic options on mobile App to control your router. I love my new router.

Working wonderful wifi
We live in an old house with solid brick walls and 3 teenage kids…Virgin whilst providing super broadband provide woeful wifi. Now it works all over the house. Fast and no fade in the middle of my video conferences(important as I am a doctor doing online consults). Great.
It looks awesome, like a creature of the night, once I got it working, it really does the job, but it was very hard to configure, I had to reset it SIX TIMES!!!! I followed every step as detailed on the directions. I was ready to give up, somehow the last try worked out. I do not like the fact that you cannot use the web interface out of the box, it forces you to download the Nighthawk app on your phone to get started. After it was working, then I was able to access the router from the web interface. Now it works really good, the signal is very powerful. Purchase only after arming yourself with all the patience that you can get. It will pay off.
It looks awesome, like a creature of the night, once I got it working, it really does the job, but it was very hard to configure, I had to reset it SIX TIMES!!!! I followed every step as detailed on the directions. I was ready to give up, somehow the last try worked out. I do not like the fact that you cannot use the web interface out of the box, it forces you to download the Nighthawk app on your phone to get started. After it was working, then I was able to access the router from the web interface. Now it works really good, the signal is very powerful. Purchase only after arming yourself with all the patience that you can get. It will pay off.

1/ extrmement simple configurer (soit avec l’application , soit directement avec son pc ce qui offre plus d’options )
2/ une vitesse de votre connexion internet exploit son maximum . J’obtiens des 70mo/s sur certains sites et une moyenne de 45mo/s quand toute la maison est connect (en wifi 5).
3/ un suivi rgulier de l’appareil avec des mises jour quotidiennes . Je l’utilise actuellement comme point d’accs et il gre sans difficult les nombreux appareils connects chez-moi .
Je possdais auparavant un rpteur de la mme marque et c’est un gain de dbit sans quivalant por moi avec une porte plus importante .
En conclusion un excellent appareil qui fait trs bien son travail .

Fixed my Wi-Fi signal issues
Purchased this router as the Virgin Media HUB3 Modem/Router did not seem to be able to handle 2 people working from home (Known issue with that particular model’s Wi-Fi) and connections were constantly dropping out, forcing frequent device reboots.
The RAX10/AX1800 has completely resolved all Wi-Fi performance issues and gives good coverage to all rooms in my small house, without the need for any repeaters. The Netgear app make changing settings very easy, and I was able to give the device the old routers SSID and password, so all my devices connected without any problems. The ISPs device was switched into Modem only mode, as per their instructions and connected with an ethernet cable.
My only complaint with this particular model, is the abundance of status lights. There are 5 bright green LEDs, which flash constantly when connected. This must be have been considered by Netgear as there is an option to turn off all but the power status light, but one must be comfortable accessing the advanced settings via a web browser, as that is how I found the option to turn them off.
I did find that my Xbox was suffering lag/dropped packets in online gaming, but it appeared that the corner I had placed it in was the worst point in the house for Wi-Fi signal (as per a signal measuring app), moving it a few feet to the other side of the desk fixed this problem; so this router is only suitable for smaller houses.
Great little route
This solved a lot of my problems. However my internet does still fluctuate a few times during the day but I believe this is ISP sided now. The management software on the router is really good, love the app.

Unica pecca la non immediatezza dell’interfaccia che, unita all’ignoranza dei call center, non aiuta la prima installazione della connessione alla fibra.

Ich muss gestehen, ich war aufgrund der teilweise kritischen Rezensionen etwas unsicher den RAX200 zu kaufen!
Muss aber jetzt sagen das bis jetzt meine Erwartungen absolut erfllt wurden!
Nachfolgend ein paar Anmerkungen zu wesentlichen Punkten:
Inbetriebnahme: Ging ber die APP sehr schnell und problemlos !
Einrichtung: Ich betreibe den Router als AP hinter meinem Modem von A1. Alle wichtigen Einstellungen fr WLAN, SSID, Passwrter usw. lassen sich ber die Benutzeroberflche gut einstellen. Die Bedienoberflche kann zwar mit ausgereiften Systemen wie z. B:. FritOS nicht mithalten ist aber fr meine Zwecke, im Betrieb als AP, absolut ausreichend!
WLAN Reichweite: Router ist im EG Zentral positioniert und deckt das EG.OG und den Keller durch teilweise mehrere Wnde problemlos ab! ber die 2,4 und die beiden 5 GHZ Frequenzen bleiben alle meine Gerte teilweise mit enormen bertragungsraten (im Vergleich zum Vorgnger) online!
Alles im allem eine klare Empfehlung meinerseits!
NetGear Nighthawk RAX200
My experience with the nighthawk RAX200, setup was very easy to do using the app which explains everything step by step. The RAX200 looks great all antenna’s are hidden, looks like a space ship, cool. I have only been using it for a few weeks but have found that the router is more reliable better range and the wi-fi speed is quicker than it was before using the same speed test. I am very pleased with the NetGear nighthawk RAX200 and would recommend to anyone looking to improve their performance and range within the house

Takes WiFi to the next level
After weeks of problems with our WiFi at home (with 100mb broadband was often struggling to even maintain an audio conference call) installed my RAX70 router and put my ISP router into modem mode and not a single problem since! Easy to install/setup and even copes with sending a signal through an external wall to an extension on our house 🙂

Fast fast and did I say Fast, both WiFi and Etherne
The advantages for me are faster more reliable WiFi in the home for all the hungry devices, keeps the kids from complaining, but the bonus for me is with a few additions I now have a Faster wired network also, enabling me to take advantage of new ways of working to get the job done.
A massive improvement in our wifi
This has improved our download speeds and connectivity in the far corners of the house. It was really easy to set up with the phone app and has put a new lease of life into our Virgin hub. I wish we had got one at the start of lockdown because I could have avoided all of the stress in Teams and Zoom meetings when the signal dropped out.

Habe mir den Router besorgt weil wir immer wieder Probleme mit dem WLAN der normalen Fritzbox hatten, seither ist das WLAN sehr stabil der Ping beim spielen betrgt im Durchschnitt 10ms statt vorherige 30-50ms. Auch die App zum konfigurieren des Routers ist bersichtlich und einfach zu verstehen und zu verwenden. Da ich den Router am black friday auch noch mit einem reduzierten Preis ergattern konnte bin ich auerordentlich zufrieden!
Netgear Nighthawk RAX70 Route
I was looking for a decent router to replace a Virgin Superhub 3 which was giving me very poor WiFi coverage upstairs in our new house. Finally, after much searcing I decided on a Netgear Nighthawk RAX 70. I was still unsure if the RAX70 was capable of doing the job that I required it to do. I can only say that I have been blown away by its performance since purchase. I now have excellent WiFi coverage throughout the house including upstairs. Would highly recommend this product.

Superbe routeur au design impeccable, mais avant tout hyper performant. Wi-Fi trs stable et rseau de trs bonne qualit dans toute ma maison (2 tages, 130m). Trs facile mettre en service avec l’appli Nighthawk, contrlable distance, avec rseau ddi aux invits. Connect en fibre optique, j’ai facilement, et durablement, du 700MB/S en Wi-Fi dans toute la maison. Je recommande fortement car j’en suis hyper ravi !

I tuned the frequencies of my old WiFi router to find the lowest congested frequencies that I could identify using the NetSpot app. The wifi network still performed poorly, never approaching the full speed of my internet connection. It also constantly dropped the throughput to near zero on both the 2.5 and 5 GHz frequencies. It randomly dropped Internet calls and internet browsing would freeze due to loss of signal because of interference.
I put the Nighthawk RAX120s into the same physical locations of my previous routers configured to exactly the same frequencies and transmit power levels. One as the Wireless Router and the second 2 stories up in my 200+-year-old home as an access point. Now I get full internet speed in every nook and cranny in the house. The connection is stable with none of the dropouts nor near zero throughput experiences. I get full speed in the cellar and in the room that has brick walls around where the signal has to travel through another brick wall with a fireplace in it to get to the router. Even my AC only (non-AX standard) devices enjoy full-speed performance.
I can see over 25 networks from my house. Even with my computer in the same room as the previous wifi router, I couldn’t get full speeds. After replacing it with the Nighthawk I instantly saw full internet speeds on my wifi network, just as if I was wired to the Internet Modem directly.
I used Orbi in my last house which was a craftsman made of wood. I had to put an extender in every room to get this level of performance. I should have gone with the Nighthawk.
Easy set up
I had tried another manufacturer router and the set up was not easy and in the end I gave up the Netgear router and the app made it so easy to set up and we were up and running in 10 mins really good product.

The anywhere network storage still won’t work for me, seems to just reject my account, but local storage works fine. Signal is strong and resilient

Dopo vari anni di fibra fttc sono passato alla fibra ftth, ho sempre avuto router Netgear, per la facilit di istallazione e quindi con la nuova connessione ho cambiato il router ed ho acquistato ax1800… Che sorpresa il WIFI Passare da 15 Mbps a… 500 e oltre… Poi che dire, ho posizionato il router in cascata al piano primo ed ho il segnale WIFI in tutta la casa in modo stabile senza sbalzi… Dimenticavo la casa di tre piani!

Solved all my home network issues
I have 23 WiFi devices at home and half of them just haven’t worked with my stock WiFi router.
This device give me 4 WiFi networks one 2GHz and 2x 5GHz. I’m separated my devices now:
– Faster 5GHz – Everything I’m using for work from home – 2 PCs, 1 MacBook;
– Slower 5GHz – all phones and watches (if support it)
– 2GHz – for all other older devices, like TVs, photo frames, printers etc…
– Guest network – enable only when need to share internet without revealing my other devices
Setup happened automatically – just following the instruction.
There are some bugs and paid features for the router and the mobile app, which could be disabled .. otherwise there could be quite useful, if you could pay.

The virgin media hub 3 not only is poor at sending a decent signal but it also cuts out very often. I thought this was my ISP turns out it was actually the router itself because since having my Netgear I have much strong signal, much stronger range, and much more reliability in my internet. On the virgin media hub 3 the PS5 was speed testing at 103 down and 8 up. With Netgear router it is now maxing at 211 down and 31 up. Great upgrade throughout the home.

Been using this for a while on the wan connection, and was doing t best then upgraded to fiber, connected it via the Multi-Gig ethernet port,l unleashed the beast, the speeds are insane. this is a straight connection from the wall to the port., surfing the net is a pleasure download, its blink, streaming,l have more the 15 items connected to this but, no-frills, connections always on, no buffering multi-streaming, and eg pip on 4k
Researched this device to make sure it was fully compatible with our ISP (Virgin Media(Hub 3)) and then ordered.
Arrived quickly.
Set it up using the Nighthawk app which is easy to navigate. Opened my VM hub’s UI and set it to modem only and then finished set-up on the Nighthawk app. Fairly pain-free installation apart from a few niggles with our AV and VPN which were solved easily enough (which is amazing considering its having to communicate with Virgin Media junk)
The WiFi throughout the home (3 bed semi) before installing this router was awful, patchy and slow (have 500mb VM package) and Virgin Media’s solution was 2 plug-in boosters which is ok until you placed them in another room wherein they lost connection!
The WiFi after booting up the Netgear router was great, good connection throughout the home with average 400-720mb wifi test speeds.
I use this router in conjunction with a Netgear WiFi extender which enables great connection and speed in our garden some 30m and 2 solid walls away from where the extender is situated.
Feel aggrieved I had to go to this length and cost but at the same point wish I had done this years earlier.
Highly recommended (especially if you are a Virgin Media non Hub 5 user)!
WiFi-tastic
Bought to address WiFi issues with diabolically poor performance from a Virgin “Superhub” 3. High latency and constant dropouts even when within touching distance of the router. Swapping WiFi duties to the RAX70 is like night and day; only been running a week but not a single drop-out. Multiple wireless connections streaming faultlessly at the same time plus numerous wired connections through a brace of 8 port switches. Performance has been spot-on so far. Setup was a breeze using the iOS app. One single issue with a wired LG smart TV that required it’s network settings reset. The RAX70 WiFi signal is rock-solid throughout our 2 storey 1960’s house and into the garden. I procrastinated for a while between a decent WiFi router or a mesh system but finally decided on this and do not regret the decision.
NB not a modem !
Works great and we get a good signal from the attic to the cellar in our stone built house. Non savvy buyers (like me) should note it’s a router without a modem. I was fiddling with it for a long time before the penny dropped. No worries, I got the freebie from the internet service provider out of the cupboard and connected them together.
