Training your pet to use a ramp

J’ai achet cette escabeau pour mon chien pour qu’ils ai plus de facilit monter dans le coffre de la voiture par contre il serait souhaitable que le fournisseur cre la mme chose en plus long pour qu’il puisse monter les escaliers de la maiso

Strong, good grip, easy fold
Bought for a puppy and a medium size adult labrador. It’s strong enough for both of them. It folds easily and is not too heavy. The surface feels like very strong, rough sandpaper and has good grip. I thought it would be too rough for puppy paws, but she’s runs up and down dozens of times daily and is fine. If the surface ever wears away, I’ll glue ribbed doormat carpet on it.
Mon Bouvier bernois a du se faire oprer d’urgence. Il y avait plusieurs rdv post opratoire et ne pouvait pas sauter sans le coffre. On lui a pris d’urgence cette rampe. Ma premire crainte tait qu’elle ne soit pas suffisamment rsistante car Joke est gros 45kg!
Mais non c’est trs solide, revtement anti drapant. Il faut le temps qu’il comprenne mais super pratique. Mme aprs on l’utilisera pour viter qu’il se fasse mal au dos

At 14, our Border Collie has increasing mobility issues (arthritic hips etc.). I can lift her into my 4×4 (L200 with ‘boat-shaped’ bodywork i.e. rear passenger door access is somewhat restricted) and this device has now enormously improved her ability to get down/out. We’ve encouraged her every step of the way (literally!) and she’s adapted really well.

Very harsh surface but still recommend
A good ramp! The surface is however very rough!! I fully understand it needs to be anti slip but I would be worried about dogs pads walking on this as it is. We are putting a blanket or anything material on top which works well. Purchased it for large 30 kg lurcher. She was a bit vary but soon got the idea. Our small terrier worked it out in 2min. We bought it mainly for our Landrover Defender which has a very high boot. Works a treat. Any “normal” car would be even better as less steep. Would recommend but the surface is extremely harsh.
Excellent ramp but needs a better non-slip surface
This is a sturdy, lightweight ramp which is easy to use however our Labrador found it very difficult to use without slipping. As many customers will be buying to assist older or infirm dogs, this needs to be addressed. We have glued 2 ridged door mats to the surface and it now works perfectly.
This is a great product, and easy to handle. However the traction surface it comes with is seriously abrasive. It puts the roughest sandpaper to shame. Removed that and replaced with remnants from my truck bed mat, didn't add a whole lot of weight and works perfect for the puppers to grip.

Good Value, Works Well, But Think About Where to Store It In Your Ca
Worked great for our aging Cattle Dog and Goldie. BUT you have to train them to use it. After a lifetime of hopping out of the car, they did not gravitate to use the ramp, but if we guided them by holding their collar, they would do it. Reluctantly. Easy to fold and store in the garage, BUT don’t forget you need to take it with you on your drive. We placed the folded ramp, vertically, behind the front seat of our Audi Q5. Fit okay if we moved up the front seat, but then no one can sit in that back seat.
Ramp is covered in sandpaper like material, preventing slippage. Feels safe. Suits a crossover, but too short for a tall truck or SUV; ramp would be too steeply angled.
This a terrific product, well built and very sturdy. My 45 lb dog easily maneuvered the ramp. My back loves it also.

Bought this for my moms senior dog. He is about 55 lbs and this ramp works great for him. Its sturdy and holds his weight well. She has a tahoe suv and lifts the rear seat forward and he walks up the ramp into the backseat. The ramp was worth the money, her dog would hurt himself jumping in and out before the ramp. First time we tried to use it he walked right up and down with no issue. Good product.

The angle i had to use it at made it to steep, but it would have been fine at a less angle. This was (used like new) but looked new

When we received the Pet Ramp we had to lay it totally on the ground first so our dog could get use to it, then when we placed it on our SUV there was no issue with him using it.

Our 12 year old golden doodle is having increasing difficulty getting into our Honda CRV cargo area. We received the Solvit Pet Ramp yesterday with great anticipation. It did not disappoint. The ramp was easy to unfold and put in place on the rear bumper. Briggs walked up it with minimal coaxing or treats. It was like he was saying “This is just what the doctor ordered.” The rough emery surface didn’t bother him as some other reviewers indicated for their dogs. The ramp is solid enough to support our 45lb pet without wobbling and the railing added security. My only improvement suggestion would be a handle for carrying it when folded.

Most show pictures of the ramp being used on the back of a large pick-up truck, or with the sliding doors of a van, or suv. The PetSafe Happy Ride Folding 62" Pet Ramp works perfectly with our Nissan Sentra. We also use a pet hammock in the back seat so our dog does not fall into the back seat floor on our rides. The hammock also helps support the upper left area of the ramp. I also purchased a strap system that can be hooked from the car side door frame to the upper ramp for support, however with the hammock, I find I do not need the strap. Our dog is 79 pounds and the ramp is 100% sturdy and secure. Yes, the walking surface is rough (I could easily file my nails on it) but it does not seem to bother my dog at all. The pads of her feet are not bothered by this. We had attempted to make our own ramp which she refused to use, it was wobbly and difficult to fit it precisely in the door opening, but the PetSafe ramp fits just right, and is long enough to not be too steep of a climb into the car. Very happy with my purchase!

Works perfectly for my beagle getting in and out of my jeep....expert on the first try. I use an old yoga mat on it for traction but am planning to use Carpet secured by Velcro strips.

Easy to use and folds nicely
Really like this ramp it folds easily and is light enough for the majority of people to handle.
The non slip surface is awesome. It’s taking me a little time to train my dog to use it but as an older dog who’s never used a ramp it’s a tad awkward. It would be even better if it had a carry handle built into the desig

I have a Corgi and when I got my new Santa Fe it was too high for him to jump into the back. This Ramp fits folded in half easily, its heavy duty plastic material with a rough surface. My corgi was hesitant at first but now uses it on command. Recommend.

Not for nervous dogs
This item was just what we’d wanted to find – a folding ramp to make getting in and out of cars easier for our collie. We laid it flat in our living room for several days so she learnt to walk along it to get in and out of the room. However, when we placed the ramp so she could get into the boot of our Mitsubishi ASX we discovered that the angle of the ramp was very steep and, despite gently trying to lead her up the ramp on a lead and with titbits to entice her and old towels to give a familiar soft surface, she was very frightened and would not use the ramp. ( NB for our particular car with the rear passenger doors open we could not fit the ramp levelly so she could travel on the back seat instead.) The ramp has a sandpaper-like surface which we thought would help her grip on, but now we are waiting till lockdown lifts so we can line the ramp with strips of carpet and hope that that will make her less fearful. We also tried putting a block of wood under the foot of the ramp to reduce the angle of the ramp, but that was not sufficient and carrying big blocks of wood on journeys is simply not practical. Overall a waste of money for us, but it seemed a good ramp perhaps for more confident dogs – it’s strong, folds away easily, has raised sides, and a non-slip surface. We need a different car sllghtly lower to the ground!

My great dane/german shepherd mix (105lbs) was injured and needed surgery- I ordered this that morning (2 days before surgery) and it arrived so quickly. The traction is nice, as it was snowing when it has been used. Despite my dog's 'great dane' hesitancy, he used it with ease. Overall for the price, lightweight and super quick shipping I would recommend this product!
