These are fantastic, hands free, easy to use answer calls listen to music yet you are aware of your surroundings. The battery life is brilliant too you don’t need to charge every day it can last 2 to 3 days
    depending on usage.
All in all a great product..

I bought for my daughter who has tinnitus and was looking for something to replace some ear-pods. She really likes these, they’re comfortable, sound is good, great that you can hear surrounding environment and helps with symptoms of tinnitus. The only downside if you’ve used to headphones automatically disconnecting when you take them off, like ear-pops when placed back into their case, you need to remember to switch off or disconnect these manually – a minor thing that’s easy to get used to.

Great product I feel safer walking as can hear surrounding sounds whilst enjoying my music.
Only downfall is the function switch its so tiny I struggle turning on and off and getting it to sync to my phone.

Fantastic for running, ‘cos you can still hear outside noises but it doesn’t impact on what you’re listening to.
Maybe just one little thing, the band could possibly be adjustable.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI purchased these for my husband as a replacement for an older pair. He was born deaf in one ear, and this allows him to really enjoy music, especially while he’s running. This wireless set has really impressed him. He can wander about the house, bopping to the beat, yet still hear the world around him. I’ve found that there is no sound leakage, so that’s a bonus for me.

He says that the sound quality has improved enormously since his previous set, and it connected to his phone with ease. He’s even studying his Duolingo Spanish using it- which is good for me, as I don’t have to hear a thing 🙂

Wasn’t sure what to expect but I really like these. 4 stars out of 5 because the sound quality is not as crisp as a pair of good fitting over the ear headphones. They are very good for what they are. The battery lasts a long time and I really like the magnetic charge cable attachment. It’s a solid coupling. Bluetooth connecting is simple and the controls are easy to use. Overall I like them. Remember though, it’s not symphonic quality.

I HIGHLY recommend this to anybody looking for music on the go! I used to buy pod type earphones (expensive ones as well) as I really enjoy listening to music on the go whilst at work and I love not having to reach into my pocket for my phone whenever I get a call. Pod type earphones have Noise Cancelling and Hear Through functions (which to be honest I felt were awesome).

The only thing about pods were how small they were, the occasional tendency to drop from my ear and how my ear might feel a little sore if they have been there the whole day. Not to mention I sometimes can’t here what people are trying to say to me sometimes.

This guy is a absolutely fantastic. I’m not exactly an audiophile so I don’t have the feedback if you’re looking for “Deeper Bass” “Clear Treble” “Hidden sounds no other human ear can hear” from your music. But I where these at work all the time, I never miss anyone calling me, I where them when I’m cycling with no fear I’ll miss any environmental sounds, I have conversations with people at work and around me… all the time with my tunes playing to me and nobody else. Sometimes I forget they’re on and wondering who the Hell is playing that awesome music. They last a whole day and I’ve even sweated with them on no problem. They fit snuggly enough for most active movements. Running/Cycling/Jumping. No problem.

    I wholeheartedly recommend these.

I thought long and hard about getting these, even at the Black Friday price their still pretty expensive and I am pretty fussy about audio quality which seemed perhaps a weak area. Also I wear glasses and was not sure how these would fit combined with glasses and a cycling helmet. The first thing I did on receiving it was to compared the Open Run sound to my Pixel Buds, my Huawei Freeview 4is, and my Soundcore Q30 heads sets. All good but not top of the range. The Open Run sound was sadly lacking in this company. But I felt this was an unfair comparison as I always saw these as a cycling only headset so tried them out this afternoon on the bike. They came into thier own here. The sound was clear and never overwhelmed the background sound. The more I wore them the more I appreciated the clarity and channel separation, bass was a bit light but ok and I never had an issue with wearing with glasses and a helmet. I would not wear these around the house, as they are just not good enough, but on a bike are very effective. Build quality is good, worth getting a hard case to store them in.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI tried these on the recommendation of a friend, who heard of my ongoing disasters with other headphones. I both cycle to work, and go running. I have tried a number of manufacturers for options for these, but their headphones options inevitably ended up falling out of my ears, getting clogged with sweat, ended up not charging or the sound just got so poor they were unusable. As a blunt workaround to ensure I could hear traffic and what was going on, I ended up using one headphone at a time: the right earphone whilst lower-energy cycling (ensuring this was kept as the high-quality one), and basically sacrificing the left earphone whilst using it on more intensive and sweaty runs. Looking back on it, this was rather a ridiculous set-up.

These headphones solve all those problems. They are firmly held in place, and allow you to hear high quality music and or speech if you want podcasts. I had not used bone conduction headphones before, so foolishly assumed there would be a significant sacrifice in audio quality. This is not the case: it is only very slightly worse (and this is not noticeable whilst cycling/running), and is certainly better than my mono-ear setup. And it does keep both ears free to hear traffic. And are cheaper than the pair I was bodging with. All in all I’m very happy. Only gripe is lack of USB-c cable – it is USB-a. But ill live. Drat.

I’ll start by saying if you only want to listen to music, or you don’t really need, or care about the ‘open ear’ feature then these are not for you. You can buy earphones with much better sound for less than half the price. Music just sounds a bit flat.

However for me this product really changed everything for me when listening to podcasts/audiobooks (and occasionally a bit of music). I can comfortably wear them all day long without discomfort or the claustrophobic feeling i get after a couple of hours of wearing over ear, or silicone plug type headphones. With the added benefit of having your hearing unaffected, which i really prefer when out and about. I’ve even come to prefer listening to podcasts/audiobooks at home with these rather than my sonos system.

Of course they aren’t going to be great in very noisy environments, and they don’t go super loud. At max volume I find they vibrate slightly too which is a bit uncomfortable. Also, in a very quiet room someone sitting next to you will be able to just start to hear them at about half volume.

For me these are very minor caveats to what is a game changing product for podcasts/audiobooks.

Very happy with my purchase. Haven’t used them on my bike yet but they fit comfortably with helmet & safety glasses. They were extremely easy to pair with my old Apple iPod classic and it’s Bluetooth adapter which other EarPods have not been.

Seems good quality, nice sound and it being open rather than in ear you can cycle or run and still hear important sounds (like angry driver horns!).

Very lightweight and stays on the ear nicely.

Only thing I’d say is max volume isn’t very high so I’d recommend deactivating any volume limiters on whatever device you’re connecting it to.

    Very good product.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersSound is clearly not as good as traditional in or over-ear technology. But I do not believe this directly competes with other headphones. I have a lovely Sony over-ears when I want to listen to music. This headphone allows me to go to the gym, or sauna, or go bike while hearing people talking to me or cars driving nearby. After sport, I go to the sauna and shower without needing to remove them.

This is my second pair. I had the titanium ones before and wore them almost daily for 3 years. Only reason for buying new ones is my wife lost her iPods so I gave them to her. I love the fact you can have a proper conversation and still listen to music. Also if someone is boring you just turn the volume up and then haven’t got a clue!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersSound quality is great, probably better than my heating deserves, but I bought these to wear whilst running and they deliver. I’ve had multiple sets of in ear, hooked, on ear earphones but never really been able to feel truly happy with them when running. Mostly they fall off or work their way out; these don’t. I wear contacts when running but I have used the SHOKZ with glasses and they still fit.
I mainly listen to speech but music is good too.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThese headphones are fantastic. I haven’t used bone conduction headphones before and I’m amazed at how good the sound quality is. You can still hear ambient noise, like traffic noise, so I feel a lot safer when running on the main road. There is a tiny amount of sound leakage when the volume is turned right up so you wouldn’t do that in a quiet coach on the train for example but you could knock the volume lower in those circumstances anyway. They’re really comfortable and the battery lasts for ages and charges really quickly too. I’ve already recommended them to dozens of friends and can’t imagine ever going back to in-ear headphones.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI bought some Borofone bone conductive headphones for 41 back in 2017, and had to immediately return them as the sound was absolutely awful. I still loved the idea of them, as in a lot of situations I really hate the loss of situational awareness that comes with regular headphones, and of course even when you cut the music, you still have to prise them out before speaking to someone. So I was a bit hesitant getting these on Prime Day for 91 but figured there was no point going cheap again. And wow am I impressed. I usually listen on a 2015 pair of Audio Technica M50x headphones, and sure, these aren’t the same, but I’ll sit down at my computer with the Shokz on, playing music from my phone and I won’t immediately swap them over. Also, as another reviewer noted, if you need to protect your ears using powertools etc, you can just put earplugs in, and of course you can still hear the music. In fact, using earplugs improves the sound. Quite a surreal experience for someone unfamiliar with these.

Overall I’m incredibly impressed, I had got them expecting to use them to catch up with a bunch of audiobooks and podcasts, but I’ve barely used them for that as music has sounded so good. I was also worried about reviews saying they easily got drowned out by nearby sounds. I’ve found the opposite, I have to keep them turned down a bit, otherwise they do actually stop me from hearing my surroundings as intended.

I had wanted to try these headphones for ages and I took a chance during Prime day to get them. The size I got was based on the size guide on Shokz website but they’re actually a bit too big on me which does have a bit of an effect on the sound volume you can hear but they are still comfortable on the aul ear drums and work really well.

I’m a big fan of Apple AirPods, but due to having a stroke and losing some of my vision, for my own safety I decided to give open ear headphones a try, I am not disappointed. The sound quality is very good, and obviously as they don’t sit in your ears, the quality is not as good as traditional earphones.I am out walking all the time and as I live in Scotland it’s wet most of the time, so the waterproof rating of these gives peace of mind. I would recommend to anyone.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersFirstly you need to accept there will be some compromise between audio quality and the convenience that your ears aren’t obstructed or isolated as these are at a distinct disadvantage compared to headphones/earphones designed to obstruct your ears. The sound they produce is balanced and extremely listenable but they are never going to give you that ‘immersed’ lose yourself in the music experience.
My initial pair had a battery issue in that, after a week or so on standby they would lose their charge. If this happens to you contact Shokz as they should last several weeks on standby without any noticeable loss in charge as my replacement pair do. I tried to get feedback on existing customers on this through the Amazon ask a question but unfortunately most answers were less than helpful, ignorant even, so hopefully this review will help others who may have the same issue.
In summary a great pair of headphones to compliment rather than replace your existing headphones.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThese are great, wish I’d bought a pair years ago. They are great for when out running, walking, cycling as you can listen to your music but still hear what’s going on around you. Also great at home as I always like some music on while the OH prefers silence, these are perfect for that allows me to listen to music while shes happy in silence. Really comfy to wear too, much better for your ears than earbuds. You’re not going to get the same sound quality as a decent set of on ear headphones but that’s not the point of these and quality good enough for me.

Golden Review Award: 16 From Our UsersI’m a big fan of bone conduction headphones. If you’ve ever experienced that claustrophobic feeling of being cut off from your surroundings, then bone conduction is definitely the way to go. No more itchy or sweaty ears from earbuds or the risk of one falling out. You can listen to music or podcasts and still hear your surroundings and the safety aspect speaks for itself. There are a range of bone conduction devices on the market but Shokz are definitely the Rolls Royce of these and have been developing this technology for around 20 years. I originally purchased a cheaper pair, when I say ‘cheap’ they were still around the 40 mark. I enjoyed the experience and later decided to go for the Shokz Openrun and as soon as I put them on I realised the difference in quality. They are well balanced and sit comfortably on the ears and they sounded much better. If you want a ‘near’ experience of what it feels like to wear bone conduction headphones then put a pair of spectacles on backwards so that the lenses are at the rear of your head and the arms of the glasses rest over you ears. They sit gently and comfortably over your ears but the listening experience is through your cheekbones. They are discreet and can also be worn comfortably with glasses. After a while you almost forget you are wearing them. It is very easy to turn the Shokz OpenRun on using the manual button which is located just behind the right ear. You will hear a woman’s voice ‘welcome you’ and confirm that you are ‘connected.’ I’ve not experienced any problem with connection, it always seems to work. If for some reason you go out of the Bluetooth range of your connected device you will hear 2 beeps in rapid succession to inform you of this. As soon as you are within range you will hear ‘connected!’
I would like to experience the more expensive OpenRun Pro, but some of the reviews I’ve looked at say that the difference in sound is minimal and in fact the OpenRun have a higher water and sweat resistance than the pros? Makes no sense! Anyhow, I can thoroughly recommend these quality headphones, five stars and perfect for audio books too!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI have had a couple of different models of these now and use them all the time, on my bike, round the shops, whilst doing the washing up etc. mainly using them for podcasts. I love them and I’m not saying Ii couldn’t live without them but my life would be a smidge worse and more difficult.

When my latest model (this one) developed a problem, I contacted shokz customer service via email and within a week they had replaced my headphones. Really appreciate a company who is this efficient and not trying to fob you off or make you wait until you give up (yes I’m looking at you Lufthansa). Thank you to Crystal who dealt with my request.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI don’t run, I’m like James May, I don’t run on camera. In fact I don’t run at all. A lifetime ago they made me run at school, I don’t like it then and I don’t like it now.

So why am I reviewing a runners’ set of headphones? The answer is they’re pretty good. I tried the cheaper versions, not Shokz I hasten to add, available on Amazon and I was very disappointed with the sound quality. Namely when listening to album tracks the cheaper variant clipped the first beat/quarter of a second or the like off the beginning of the track. That got really annoying. Hence the purchase of these not inexpensive Shokz.

Back the Shokz, very comfortable to wear on a boat thus allowing you to hear engine note, or sails flapping if that’s your thing. You can easily have a conversation with others and still be able to unobtrusively pick up a phone call. The sound quality is excellent and I’m told by those whom I’ve called that the noise cancelling is pretty good at their end. For me the volume controls are very easy to use and a larger single button on the left hand side allows easy call accept/disconnect.

I’m pleased I invested in the higher priced item and would very much recommend it.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersThese Shokz Openrun headphones are brilliant..!!!! I wish I would of tried them before. They stay in place even though I also wear glasses, and I don’t need to worry about them when running at all.
The sound is good, and the best bit is if you don’t turn them up too loud, is that you can hear someone talking to you, or the traffic around you, but if you want to be totally immersed in your music, and want to have hearing problems in your old age, then ear-buds may be for you.. You can turn the volume of the music up and down via the headphones, and you can do this very easily whilst running.
I am 62 and over the years I have had/tried so many headphones in the past, which when you got sweaty always fell out of your ears, or you had to always put them back in place, so I thought I would give these Shokz Openrun headphones a go.
I am also a regular gym goer and the only exercise where I have to move the headphones a bit is a bench press, as of course you put your head on the bench and the headphones go behind you head, so in effect you coule be lying on your headphones.
I got so fed up with all my other headphones, ear-buds etc, that I always used to run without headphones and music, even when I was training for my last mararthon.
If I ever lose these headphones I would certainly buy another pair straight away.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThese headphones are awesome for what they are. Home conducting headphones that allow you to hear what’s going on around you. If you want to immerse yourself in your music and blot out the outside world you’re in the wrong place.
These are genuinely superb. Comfortable, long battery, clear, fast & stable connecting, safe to use when out and about.
The only reason these don’t get a 5star from me is the fixed headband. Not a game changer but the fixed band is a pain when it comes to beanies etc.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI like these headphones, they are comfortable, sound quality for what I use them for is ok, survived training in the rain and battery life is good. Though I would much prefer to be informed in percentage what battery life is remaining, so I can gauge it. Rather than being advised that battery is HIGH, MEDIUM or LOW.

The biggest bug bear by far, is that its virtually impossible – think that I managed it once, to get the correct rhythm when using the button 3 times to select the previous track, pause and selecting next track is ok. But dam it was impossible to select previous track.
So, as per the sellers advice, I now use my phone to select the previous track.

That is the only reason why it didn’t receive 5 stars.

These are a lot more comfortable and clear than i expected them to be. They don’t cancel out the sound, which is good, but they are loud enough that you cant hear people talking much if you do want to drown out other sounds. The only 2 things that annoy me is that i wish the head loop was smaller (to fit smaller heads, not just a mans head) or changed sizes, as it gets in the way on the odd occasion with extension of the head. I also wish that it was able to connect to two devices at once, such as my watch and my phone, in case i got a call come through. Overall i am very happy and would buy agai

Its has good sound quality and noise cancellation . Usually when I use this kind of products, person on the other end use to complain that they cannot hear me well or there is surrounding noises. This seems to be working well and has a good battery life. Its very comfortable to keep it for the whole day+hr

I had the same product before, but the only concern that I have is that after one year of use the internal joint snapped on one end of the headphone and then it will not snug properly to your jaw born. I was upset with that , but it still worked.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersFirstly, the size of the band is perfect for my head and neck. It has been reduced since the first model. If you are particularly small then the mini would be good. The sound quality is great, it can be hard to hear voice and podcasts on busy roads but if you are out for a walk in a park or forest or on quiet roads then it is actually fine. It takes soke getting used to, being able to hear around you can be disorientating. At high volumes people around you can also hear what you are listening to which I didn’t expect. They also vibrate quite a bit when at high volume so that can cause me a sore head. But overall I keep them at a mid level volume and they are fine for my needs.
They stay on great when running and often I forget I have them on after.
Overall a good product, not sure that 90 is a fair price for them, I hope they last for at least 4 years to get the value from them.

These are exactly what I needed. With noise cancelling I couldn’t hear if my husband spoke to me, whereas I can with these as they sit just outside the ear near the ear canal rather than in the ear. I only use these for audio books and speaking on the phone. They sit on my head and wrap around my ears perfectly and have a clear sound. They are very easy to operate and the battery easily lasts all day for me……I listen quite often to my audio books during the day. Therefore I can highly recommend them.

These are comfortable and have good sound quality and as a side benefit have much better sound than my bike helmet speakers which are non-bone conducting when I have no need for the intercom (in-the-ear earbuds are not useful due to wind noise and increased danger from being unable to hear traffic noise). While the sound quality for music is not quite as good due to the lack of noise canceling, it is quite adequate for podcasts and does well with phone calls. It is light and comfortable for long term use. I took off a star because there is no app or much option in the way of equalization, although I doubt that would be very useful with this type of headset. I exchanged the larger version for the mini to allow me to lie comfortably with minimal adjustment, unlike with the larger version.

Connessione immediata.

Very good for working/being around other people. You can be listening to something but still hear what’s going on when people come up and talk to you. Also very good for being out running/walking/cycling and still know a vehicle is coming up behind you. However, the loud noises of buses for example will drown out what you’re listening to completely.

Comfort is great, they can be on for hours, and battery seems to last me at least a day.

Sound quality is passable but obviously not the best for bass and serious music listening. Works best for spoken word content for me.

The other main negative for me are the playback controls, to skip back it’s a triple click of the button which never seems to register for me. Double click to skip forwards works most of the time.

Overall I would not be without these now.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI do a fair amount of long distance running… I listen to podcasts a lot, audio books, and sometimes music. Bought these at the recommendation from a friend, and they work great! I can still hear some of what is going around me (people passing me, cars, etc.) but can also hear what I’m listening to quite perfectly. My only complaint, which doesn’t really affect my rating, is that it would be nice if you could turn the volume up a bit when I’m in areas of heavy congestion, car noise, etc. so I could more clearly hear in those situations, but otherwise… these are great. I will mention that hte first few runs it took a while to get used to them, as my ears weren’t really used to having things over them in that location, but they got used to them.
It would also be nice if it used a standard usb-c charger like other headphones, but imagine this was to maintain the water resistant-ness? Otherwise it’s a pain to have to take an extra cord with me to charge these when I travel.

The sound quality is pretty good, depending on ambient noise levels they can be hard to hear. I’m a mobile mechanic so being able to hear what’s going on around me is important, these definitely should do the trick! I really like how low profile they are, especially compared to my over the ear set. It’s nice that they won’t jab into my ears if I’m trying to put my head through a tight space to inspect something. I recommend them 100%

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersMy 3 most constant gripes about running headphones are: They’re uncomfortable, they don’t allow for enough outside noise, and I have trouble keeping them Bluetooth connected to my phone or watch. The OpenRun headset passes with flying colors on all 3. The sound quality will never be quite as nice as an ear-canal headphone, so I don’t use them in non-sports settings, but that’s why I have other pairs for that.
If you need a single pair of headphones that will sound great running and cycling, while also blocking out distractions on the bus, this isn’t for you. But for sports and settings where I need to hear potential dangers around me, need waterproof comfort for dozens of miles at a time, and reliable Bluetooth and battery, these can’t be beat.

I got these for my husband and the look 9n his face when he connected them the first time was priceless. He couldn’t believe how clearly he could hear the voice telling him that they were connected. Then he turned on a favorite song he has loaded on his phone, at which he was SO IMPRESSED, he took them off and had me listen. I was equally shocked at how well the sound and I HATE earbuds so these would be perfect for me. I am thinking about getting a pair for myself next.

I have had these for a couple of weeks now. I wanted to try them in different environments and for multiple applications prior to submitting this review. I tried a cheaper set before purchasing these and was impressed. However, the cheaper set was not comfortable and would not last as long on a charge. These are extremely comfortable and sound exceptional. I have used them for music, Directions from my phone, and for phone calls. I have used these with ear plugs in an industrial area and they worked perfectly. The only issue I have come across is using them for movies. I had to turn them way up to hear the dialogue. For everything else , I highly recommend these. Being able to here the ambient noise around you is outstanding. Especially while driving.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersIf you want a headset that does not go in your ear, these are some of the better ones I have used! I purchased these for my self and ended up giving them to my dad who wears hearing aids and can’t put anything over his ear or in his ears! And they work awesome for him too!! These things are awesome! Have quite good sound for what they are, tho this type of headset will never have real earth shaking bass. Sound is nice and clear and your ear is in obstructed so you can hear conversation and ambient noise without taking anything out or off!! Great buy. Would recommend to anyone. Sound does get muffled if you use an ear plug. But that is not the headsets fault, just how they work in coordination with the ear canal. Great for construction use unless you plug your ears like I mentioned. No noise cancellation at all, obviously.

Golden Review Award: 30 From Our UsersI’ll preface this with the following: I’m completely deaf in my left, from birth and there isn’t anything I can do about it. It’s not cochlear bone deafness, it’s a stupid rare kind where I have no nerve connection to my brain. Anyways. These things allow me to listen to music, and keep my one good ear open to the world. Total, and absolute game changer. But no, it doesn’t “allow me to hear” out of the left. I honestly don’t know why people claim that they can suddenly “hear the music” while being deaf. But hey, as stated, I got the rare kind of deafness, so what do I know about the common types?
I use them for, listening to music, podcasts, or watching a movie at work. I work overnight security, and it gets dead at night. We are allowed to use one earbud so we can still hear our the phone, radio, people, etc. But that means I can’t hear anything at all if I do that. Took em for a test drive same night I got them in the mail, and MY GOD! Absolutely INSANE! For once in my life, I felt like someone who pops a single earbud in. I could hear my music AND have conversations with multiple people all night long. Absolutely beautiful!

As far as the quality of them goes. It’s great. Cranking it up to max isn’t something I suggest because it sounds grainy. But for an application like mine, anywhere for 25-75% volume is PERFECT!

Just going to keep this simple. I love these more than any pair of headphones I’ve ever had in my life. I’ve always hated not being able to hear my surroundings causing me to only wear one headphone. Never again will I buy regular headphones. I connect these to everything. (Phone, laptop, quest 2, and my tv) I never use the speakers on any of my devices anymore. And the microphone works excellently for all things voice. Lastly the comfort is out of this world I’ve forgotten I was wearing them multiple times now. And for work they are small and easily hidden in a beanie during the cold days so I can have my music and my bosses will never know. Honestly can’t recommend these enough.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersFranchement, j’tais loin d’imaginer qu’il tait si bien.

Tragekomfort also schonmal 1a.

I suffer from seizures and to much sounds can trigger them. I use headphones daily to drown out the unwanted sounds and be able to control what I listen to. The problem with normal headphones and earphones are when I seize and actually. Earphones particularly hurt the worst. Now I feel much safer then shattering headphones and having earphones shoved in my ear. They’re also awesome for people who tend to fall asleep when listening to music. I’m beyond happy with this product!

Golden Review Award: 15 From Our UsersI owned a pair of aftershokz Titanium headphones for several years, and was already familiar with them. They are designed for athletes who need to be aware of their environment, and the extra level of safety that not covering the ear canal provides. They still provide a very decent, if not audiophile sound quality. They also keep sweat from building up in your ear canals, which can trigger a host of ear issues, including fungal ear infections. My ENT recommended that I use this product after having two extremely painful bouts of ear infections which were likely caused by wearing Apple AirPods for exercise in tropical locations. The Shokz put an end to this issue.

The build quality is very nice, and they fit well and are comfortable to wear indefinitely. Most earbuds begin to hurt after 30 minutes or so, but not the shokz. You actually forget you are wearing them.

In areas with high ambient noise, such as a 24 HOUR Fitness gym, their sound output can be a bit insufficient to drown out the usual mix of bad gym music. They don’t isolate or cancel out any background noise. I discovered a hack to make them noticeably louder on a iPhone: Go to Settings. Go to the Music App. Select EQ. Select “Late Night”. That provides a several dB boost across the sonic frequency spectrum, and helps inna noisy environme

Skokz headphones are not bought for noise cancelling, they are bought so that you can keep your situational awareness while pursuing your favorite outdoor or gym activity. Shokz allow you to hear ambient noise such as a car coming up behind you or a dog or other animal (rattle snakes, I hike in the AZ desert) approaching. I find the sound quality excellent, the bone conduction is awesome. I do use Shokz for air travel, I just use a pair of classic EAR yellow ear plugs with them and though not 100% noise cancelling, I do not hear the crying babies unless they are right next to me.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI’ve used Shokz headphones for many years (since AfterShokz released the first bone conduction series). They truly have worked to improve the design with every new model release. And the customer service is on-point!

Specifically with this Open-Run version, I found the slimmer, lighter weight design to be a lot more comfortable on longer runs. The rounder speaker shape also makes them less noticeable against your ears.
It looks like they have made great strides in making the design more water resistant (less entry points). Also I believe they finally upgraded to a newer version of Bluetooth. The electronics on the older models always died on me after about 12-18months of daily use. I’m really hoping the watertight design and new electronics make for a more robust product. I’ll update the review after 6months so people can see if they’re still going strong

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersIt’s amazing to finally have the option of listening to music on runs with zero problems or hassles. Thank you Shokz. Here’s the back story:

In the old days, I used to snake headphone wires under my shirt and strap a massive iPod on my arm to listen to music. The armband slipped off, the wires got tangled. Smaller iPods were junk and couldn’t handle much if any abuse or sweat. Smartphones are just too big and clunky. Music capable smartwatches are amazing and compact, but Bluetooth headphones and anything stuck in my ears quickly gets sweaty and uncomfortable. Jabra Elites, for example, sound good, but fall out multiple times every run.

After having pretty much given up on having music on runs, a colleague turned me onto Shokz. What a find. Paired instantly with my Garmin Fenix. The sound is way better than I expected would be possible with bone induction (and just good period). The headphones stay comfortable throughout the runs I’ve been on, and the playback stays flawless.

For me at least, and I would venture other folks who like to run hard and thus sweat a lot, these things are a game changer. Get them. You will not be sorry.
