Molto buono, ben equilibrato.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersBrought this go with my new router table as a temporary router untill I can I afford a trend. It didn’t fit the table even with a ubibase which was disappointing, however its simple enough to remove the plastic base plate a screw a piece of plywood in its place, I then drill some 5mm holes and threaded this using a tap set. I then bolted the router to the basse plate which has done the job. Only downside being that it has a powerful spring which makes it a pain to set the depth all the while router is inverted…. The trend T11EK has been designed with this in mind and can be set easily with a clever add on toolBut as a cheap all rounder it certainly does the job

Good for general use but for trend router table then I would recommend paying out for the T11EK

In conclusione.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI am not going to using a router every day of the week so buying a tradesman standard router (apart from the cost) was out of the question and not justifiable. This router has had a lot of good 5 stars and I can see why.. this much power and some nice features like micro adjust, a cast aluminum fence, 30mm bush and multiple fit collets plus others.. for approx 55?

Some are saying it is cheap plastic.. well it does say ‘DIY Series’ on the front of it! What do people want?

It is heavy! not surprising for the power output… However it feels robust to me and I’ll likely fit it to an aluminium plate as someone else has suggested and use it inverted in some 15mm MDF as a router table top. If you buy a 5mm aluminium plate (approx 200 x 180 x 5mm will do) you can probably get away with using the existing screws into the plastic base faceplate.. that plastic plate is just over 5mm thick already; just remember to countersink into the aluminium so that the screw heads go flush to the plate.

So this is a budget router and once the box is opened and the items laid out I was left wondering how they do it for the price. There is certainly a budget feel to the accessories but don’t think it’s bad. The router itself has performed flawlessly, the fence components are good while other items don’t look like they will last too long. For the money I think it’s a bargain.

The saying “You only get what you pay for” is somewhat apt when considering this low priced router.

However having said that the downsides of this cheap device can be fairly easily remedied to provide a reasonably useful 1/2″router that will suffice for the majority of home DIY uses.

The base moulding is plastic and can reasonably easily replaced by something a little less brittle (HDPE for instance)
The aluminium base plate is not square on the straight sides but with a little filing and testing you can get each side nice and flat.Make sure that they are parallel also.

The spring return on the plunge lock needs a little reshaping in order to prevent it from jumping out and this can be done easily with a pair of pliers. Don’t use too much force when locking the plunge depth as this will mark the plunge shafts which are chrome plated tubes and they mark easily.

This is by no means a professional level router, not that it is advertised as such so one has to understand the limitations and use it accordingly. For the most part it will do everything that a DIYer will normally require and it will do it well once modified.

If you are on a tight budget and are only doing a few DIY jobs then this is for you and it will do the job reasonably well.

Ansonsten 4 Sterne ! Str.k

Golden Review Award: 22 From Our Usersedit 02/2017:

    Mon essai:

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersSilverline products can be a bit hit and miss, but so far this router seems great (although I admit I’ve only been using it for 2 days). Unlike some Silverline products it feels nice and sturdy, and the build quality seems good: no missing screws, bad alignment etc. My previous (Draper redline) router was a similar price, but this is more powerful and a lot quieter. Can’t fault it.

Powerfull and inexpensive. I actually have 2 as one is mounted in router table. Have had issue with one routes bearings, but having cleaned and repacked them they seem ok now. Springs on plunge mechanism are quite strong, ok for me but I ain’t small and even I would not want to have to apply more force!

I needed the larger collet and this router has done the trick. I was running a 2″ round nose bit and it had no problems (except that it did not fit through the foot opening. I made a new foot from plywood and was off and running for what I needed – but that is an extreme case.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersApril 2014. Needed a router to complete my kitchen work tops using a pre bought jig. I’m a DIY,er but switched on, so saw a bargain which proved good news.. As far as I’m concerned this package was a life saver as it arrived in perfect condition quickly, including a 30mm jig guide not a 16mm as stated in earlier posts. (Obviously been listening). The only thing I found a little disturbing was one of the two screws at the router head was loose and needed tightening to maintain the integrity of angle of cut! Pretty critical with a work surface! Just check all screws and all will be well. All in all, superb value!

Bought this item to replace an existing one (bought in Argos) which expired after 10 years regular use. That one was badged JCB, this one is identical & hopefully will last just as long. You get what you pay for, and precision settings are not the best, but if you have time to faff about, you can get a decent result. And yes, it did include the 30mm guide.

I had read various reviews on this router, not all favourable, but having received the machine I was pleasantly surprised
Some earlier reviews said that it didn’t come with a 30mm guide bush but mine did so I guess that must be sorted now
As an occasional user it is more than adequate for my needs but I don’t know if it would be up to constant use but that’s not why I bought it
For anyone who needs to fit the occasional worktop I would definitely recommend i

great value for money loads of extras in the box the only thing that is a bit iffy is the guide bush nothing wrong with the size 30 mm but it is very crude and has very sharp edges so I’ll be taking a file to that this afternoon but over all very pleased with this product and would recommend it to a first time user ! grea

Golden Review Award: 65 From Our UsersI wanted to buy a simple router to cut an accurate mitre of 44mm thick kitchen worktops with an appropriate jig (which I bought elsewhere).
Having read the minimum requirements of a router to do this job, I began looking for a half inch model as these were deemed best suited to cut worktops as the quarter inch ones apparently deflect the cutting tool to easily under load, resulting in a poor and innacurate cut. The power of 1500 Watts is sufficient for the job I needed it to do, but any less and it would have struggled.
I was unable to afford a higher quality branded router as these can cost several hundred pounds and took a punt on the Silverline model. After all, I never intended the tool to be for professional use, rather occasional use instead, which it seems suited to.
The first one supplied by Amazon came with a broken spindle lock which initially put me off it but I perservered and Amazon immediately supplied another (great customer service)
The second one was in A1 condition and as described. It comes with a variety of chucks to fit different sized bits which is a bonus and I also bought some good quality router bits (Tungsten Carbide versions) specifically for cutting worktops. Don’t scrimp on cheap ones as they will not last a single cut, let alone multiple ones needed to form the joint and the recesses for the bolts to pull it all together.
The router has a spindle lock to enable easy bit fitting and a slow start function to prevent ‘snatch’ on cutting, which works very well.
The 30mm guide bush supplied is far too shallow in depth to be of much use in following the jig accurately and I bought an Amazon recommended bush made by trend which does not actually fit this router without some modification, but its depth of 10mm gives far greater accuracy in following the jig and one I would highly recommend it.
The actual quality of this router is poor in places, the castings are very roughly made and some of the plastics used are very brittle and easy to break (such as the spindle lock) but if care is taken and for the money paid, I can see no real arguement for not buying it.
Profesionals would avoid this like the plague, but for DIY careful use, I have no hesitation in recommending it.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersBeen using this router for a while now and for the money I can’t fault it.

Plenty of power, and that lovely gentle start which has got to improve the expected life of the motor as well as helping to keep the tool under control. Impressive build quality – compares very favourably with a Freud I once had. All the collets included – wow!

Seen a few people comment about the spring being way too strong – I tend to agree somewhat, though have not found this to be too hard to live with….even though I am only a girl with matchstick arms – hahaha.

If you’re determined enough you CAN get this router mounted under a bench quite safely. It is possible to defeat the none-latching pwr switch – I leave it to you to decide how that is done…oh and you’ll need to invest in a decent NVR switch too. If you like your fingers as much as I do, you’ll also need to come up with a good cutter guard because this beast will mush you as soon as look at you. As a bench mounted tool it really starts to show what it can do – more than up to the job.

Have yet to really make much use of the very fussy depth control assembly, but not about to knock it for that.

Overall, I am thrilled with this router and don’t have a bad word to say about it. 10/10

Firstly, Silverline now supply this router with a 30mm guide bush, although it’s about 1/2mm undersized, so there is some play in the worktop jig I own, but this is not a huge problem. You just have to concentrate on which edge you are cutting. Also, the bush is very shallow once fitted to the router base – there’s not a lot of “localisation”. So I will probable be buying a Trend Unibase, and modifying it to fit for the next job.

More worryingly, when the plunge action is completed, and the router is “locked off”, the non-locked post has some play in it, so the 90deg nature of the bit to the base is not fully maintained if you put too much downward pressure on the right-hand handle. I was aware of this before I made my first cuts, so consequently had no issues.

Now for the good bits. It’s powerful enough to take 10mm chunks out of a worktop, and takes all the bits I own due to the comprehensive collet sizes provided.

Best of all, the soft-start is the best I’ve ever experienced – far better than my Bosch or Makita routers. The handles are ergonomically placed, and the start trigger is perfect (though the lock-off lever could be closer to the left hand).

And guys – it’s just over 40. Utter bargain.

This is my first router so please accept this as an amateur review. Nor am I a craftsman or woodworker who can give a professional lowdown. I had to repair some wood trim on the gables of my house. It was inevitably shaped and cut in a way that is no longer available, so after much internet searching I settled on forming the wood myself and reviewed the various router options on Amazon. This one stood out as being cheap, offering all the functionality I needed and having some good reviews. In particular it has a strong and easy to adjust fence. so far I have not been disappointed – except in my own routing skills on the first few tries! It feels solidly made and is easy to use. In particular the plunge depth is easy to adjust. I gather it also fits well into a routing table – which may be my next purchase. The plunge action is nice and smooth and it feels overall very tight. I doubt I will do enough routing to be able to comment on the bearings

This is a DIY product that has performed in a very satisfactory manner. Slow start is very helpful on such a powerful machine. The variable speed control works nicely and the angled grip handles are comfortable. The on/off safety switch mechanism is convenient. A guide bush was supplied. This fits under the plastic sole plate which it retains it reasonably precisely. The precision depth adjustment is precise and helpful and the guide fence, being of cast aluminium. is up to professional standard. The plunge mechanism is a little sloppy but firms up when locked. The range of collets works well. No complaints so far.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI bought this router a few weeks ago. I’m not a heavy user. I mainly use a router for routing channels in board or squaring off edges for jointing. Also I don’t use the guide as I prefer to set up a straight edge. I found this router very easy to use. The Plunge facility worked fine and unlike other reviewers I didn’t find it sticky or too firm. The micro adjust on the depth guage did seem a bit over the top when the router arrived but to my surprise I have found it to be actually very useful. I found that spraying a little WD40 on the plastic base plate does make the routing action much smoother. I haven’t used this router on a table yet so I’m not sure how easy it will be to fix it to the table. The actual foot plate of the tool is cast alluminium alloy and the tool seems to be reasonably robust in design. I only use 1/2 inch router bits and the collet seems to be pulling up fine on these. If you go on the silverline website you can get the guaruntee extended to 3 years. For product details. Use the 6 digit number on the top of the instruction leaflet (mine is 264895) as the part number. Use Luxembourg as the town and L-2338 as the post code. It took a while to work this out but it works and I now have a 3 year guarantee certificate (hopefully I’ll never find out if it works)

Excellent for the money, plunge spring requires a fair bit of effort but apart from that its fine. Have used it for edging and profiling 40mm hardwood using 1/2 inch cutters, if it can manage that it should be ok for anything, Easy to control and nice slow start function, and has 4 different collets to suit any cutters.

I bought this sepcifically to route a kitchen worksurface, and It did it no problem.
Having already used a 1/4 router, i found this far more refined, quieter and easier to handle.

Interestingly it actually came with 30mm guide bush, but thought it might be a bit small for the worktop jig so I ended up getting the trend round plate and a trend guide – but I probably wasted my money and suspect the bush that it came with would have done the job fine.

I highly recommend this for amateur use, Im pretty sure its the same device as the Wickes 1/2 router, but 30 cheaper – what a bargain !

  92. Arrow says:

I had reservations about buying this machine following the earlier reviews but so far, it has lived up to the more positive comments that have been made. Yes, it is heavy, yes, the plunge system is stiff and the springs seriously over strong. The plunge lock is not exactly reliable but apart from that I found it a fair machine especially when comparing to what I would have to pay for a more robust machine. Its easy to hold and direct, the accessories easy to install and it did the job I bought it for.

One niggle was the guide bush. I bought this to cut a joint in a kitchen worktop and all the jigs seem to call for a 30mm bush, and the machine comes with a 30mm bush. However, the jigs are looking for a external measurement and the Silverline has a 30mm internal measure so it just will not fit the jigs. I rented a Trend jig that came with a universal foot and its own bush but these just would not fit in the standard way. I managed it but the silverline system is so different from the standard, you would need to be sure that you can overcome this if this is the task you had in mind.

I needed a new router in a hurry, and received my Silverline Router quicker than expected. I had a big job on cutting over 300 joints in 3 days. The router was great and did the job easily. In my haste my Silverline got knocked off the bench, and the top of the DEPTH Gauge got bent. I finished the job, then attempted to get a replacement depth Gauge. Replacements seem to be impossible to acquire, even for a 3 day old machine. Great for the job, but backup for spare parts is poor. SHAME!

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersThe Silverline range is made in China. On the strength of a Silverline biscuit cutter that has given me good service and the attractive price, I bought the 1/2″ router for use when cutting raised panel doors. As the Chinese tend to copy features of US, UK, and German models this one has all the bells and whistles you’d expect paying double the price. Its 1500W motor makes the chips fly and the variable electronic speed keeps the revs down where they should be. A good buy. I’m pleased. It comes boxed with accessories.

Used this with the Transtools 900mm Kitchen Jig with bits, and everything seemed to work ok. I was able to create all the cut outs and connections, although I was a bit careful with it as it seemed to struggle a bit with the worktops.

It was a little sticky to get the depth adjusted correctly, but I got there in the end.

Pretty much as expected, a perfectly workable router that is fine for home use, but if you are using it more often you will probably want to spend more and get a more powerful one.

  98. Cathryn25I says:

So remember, you are getting a 1/2 inch router for under fifty quid! so, the bits and bobs may be a touch flimsy around the edges, but it has enough power to use the 1/2 inch router attachments with good effect. It managed to make its way through a 4cm solid beech kitchen work surface to make a nicely curve fronted desk, with smoothed edges. So for barely more than i would have paid to hire a router, i now have one that i know can make its way through decent amount of hardwood, so long as its not every day use you are looking for, its less than most of the run of the mill 1/4 inch routers out there!

Golden Review Award: 83 From Our UsersThis is my first router, although before purchasing a router of my own I borrowed from friends and tried different models.

I chosed this router because I wanted something for a saltuary DIY use, with a solid body, base plate and guides, and the possibility to mount 1/2 shank bits. Last but not least this router have the impressive power of 1500W.

I wasn’t expecting too much from a low-cost Chinese router, but I was positively surprised by many things.

Ok, once I got the package, I found my first pleasant surprise. Since I am from Italy I thought I had to change the plug, but no, the mains plug on the cable is the european/german standard schuko, and on it it’s fitted a standard fused UK square plug adapter. So all I had to do was to remove the adapter (just 1 screw to remove) and that’s it, the plug becomes european-ised.

Beside the router itself, in the box there is a sturdy parallel guide with two rods and a roller guide, a circle guide, a template guide, five collets (1/2, 1/4, 6,8,12 mm) plus the chuck spanner, spare carbons for the motor, a dust extraction port and a measurement bar.

The feeling of the handles is good, the commands looks all in the right place. The plunge up-down movement is quite difficult, since the spring inside the vertical guides are too strong and to push it down you really have to push with energy. However, seems it’s not so uncommon, since I found the same behavior on other routers, like the Bosch pof 1400 (while the pof 1200 have a very smooth and delicate movement, weirdness of life…).

On the body there is a 7 levels speed knob, a professional like depth gauge (perhaps a bit exaggerated on a DIY level router), a spindle lock button and a depth stop lock.

At the first start I noticed the router have a soft start function, it prevent the router to yank at startup.

I did some trials with the router handheld, using the guides, and I managed to have some nice work done. The speed control really make the difference for working different wood type.

Since I couldn’t really stand the hard plunge movement, I replaced the hard springs with two new ones that I got in a local hardware store. Now the movement is quite smooth and satisfying.

Now I’m using the router on a router table and, so far, it’s working great.

In brief, I think this is a good DIY tool. I would recommend this router to beginners not willing to spend too much money but at the same time wanting a sturdy and powerful first router.
