How can I tell which breast shield size I need?
Elvie Pump comes with a 24mm and 28mm Breast Shield (often called a flange), sized based on the width of the base of your nipple. You can measure the width of the base of your nipple with a ruler. Always refer to the manufacturers instructions.
How should I sterilise?
Boil in water for five minutes or suitable for microwave, steam or cold water sterilizing methods. We do not recommend microwave or steam sterilizing for more than five minutes.
What is the suction strength/ how many intensity settings are there?
Elvie Pump has a similar range of suction to other Pumps on the market, with seven intensity settings, this means you can set the intensity at the level that is most comfortable for you.
I have large breasts, will it work for me?
We have lots of customers who have had success using Elvie Pump with larger breasts. Elvie Pump has been designed to fit within a standard nursing bra and the cup size makes no difference to how Elvie Pump works.
What is the capacity of the bottles?
The bottles hold 5oz or 150 mls of milk. If you fill a bottle during a session, it’s very easy to change bottles then resume pumping!

I hesitated to buy this because of the mixed reviews but being tethered to my Madela for hours each day was driving me nuts. I’m so glad I switched. My output has been the same and I can get so much more done.

I was dubious about spending this much on a pump, but they are great! More convenient than those with „strings attached“, and my milk supply has gone up thanks to more regular pumping sessions because of this.

Funciona
I bought this for my daughter and she was so excited to receive it as she’s been looking to but this herself, but was so expensive.
So I went ahead and bought it for her two days ago. She really likes it! She loves that she’s not tied up to a machine and can move around freely.
Now today I see the price went down $140 from two days ago!! I paid $594 and now it’s $411!! Now I’m trying to figure out how to contact someone to ask for that $183 refund….. Hopefully they will give that to me.
Update:. They did not give me a refund. Very disappointed.
Been using them everyday for the past 5 months. Makes pumping so much easier and enjoyable. Love how I can pump at restaurants, church service, while shopping or driving. Slightly noisy, but not too noticeable. One charge can last for 3 sessions. HOFISH Nursing bra works really well in holding up the pumps. Doesn't drain as well as Medela or Spectra (Which I have to use in the evening).

Perfect! Huge Improveme
We started with the Spectra 2 and while it did get the job done, it was uncomfortable, bulky and took away the ability to do things while pumping (even with the special bra). The tubes got caught on everything. It was heavy. I could go on.
The Elvie is SO. MUCH. BETTER. Now I can pump and type on my computer or talk on the phone. I can walk around, watch TV, basically do anything and the wireless pumps fit right into the bra. I can even do conference calls for work and nobody even knows that I’m using the Elvie. The battery life is good. The suction is awesome. They are easy to use and clean. This is definitely worth spending the extra bucks.
Love love my elvies! Of course their can be user error, but learn about this product and how to use and you won’t be disappointed. I used this as my main pump for over 9 months, wish I’d bought it soone

Game Changer for Pumping Mamas
I hesitated so much to purchase this pump with my first child, 4 years ago. It was new and expensive, everyone doubted me when I added it to the registry. “Just use the one insurance gives you, it’s free!”
Well, I am here to tell you that is a load and if you’re even remotely on the fence about purchasing this pump. Just do it.
I used a Medela 4 years ago and after my pumping journey with that thing I swore my next pumping experience would be different. I was stuck plugged into a wall and seriously it messed with my head pumping every 2-3 hours for the first 3 ish months.
With the Elvie, I am completely free to get up, help my toddler get water in the kitchen, fold laundry while sitting on the couch, go to the bathroom, I mean the list is endless. I’ve even worn the Elvie while I went inside Target to get groceries.
I posted a photo of both left and right pump while wearing an everyday t-shirt as well as a video with the sound up close.
The sound is quiet and unnoticed by most. It does not bother me.
I charge both pumps every time I use them and they’ve lasted for an accidental 50 min pumping session, where I fell asleep..
The parts are extremely easy to clean and keep up with, I watched several YouTube videos to educate myself on how to use the parts and clean them.
I went with the Elvie over another popular wearable pump simply because it was more easily accessible and now I’m glad I did because the other name brand you have to purchase extra pieces if you want to have reusable milk containers instead of plastic bags to store your milk.
The suction on the Elvie is great, it completely empties my breasts with each use and I’ve never messed with the suction settings. I can only speak from my personal experiences with the Elvie as there are a lot of people that state otherwise.
I don’t have any cons about this pump at all, whatsoever. Purchase it for your pumping journey and it’ll change your life.
Ours is great. Convenience is amazing
It’s powerful, quiet, and convenient as heck compared to other pumps. We get more milk pumping with this than any other pump.
Pluses: seriously quiet. You can hear some light ticking sounds if you’re less than 4 feet away, that’s it.
Good suction and adjustment settings. You can customize it to maximize output.
Portable and discreet. It’s easy to pack, and other than it looks like you suddenly went up several cup sizes, it’s very inconspicuous.
Cleaning isn’t hard, they pop apart and back together easily and aren’t hard to wash.
Neutral points:
Battery life is okay. We get about 2.5 pumps (20-25min each) off a charge. It’s not bad but not amazing either.
The app, never even fooled with it, so can’t say anything about it other than you really don’t need it. They work fine on their own.
The lightsIt’s got two ring lights around the power button that light up when it’s turned on. Aside from the millions of iron man and superhero jokes that come to mind it does take away from the discreet part because you can see it through a normal t shirt or similar. Not terrible but not ideal either
Cons. I wouldn’t steam sanitize this, or use a microwave sanitizer. We boil the parts once every few days and wash it every use with warm soapy water. I’d be afraid you would warp it otherwise. It just makes it a bit inconvenient
It can be a bit finicky to assemble. Read the directions carefully and sometimes you have to put it together twice to get it to seal right. It always works right but sometimes it takes a minute of fiddling.
Overall definitely a great buy. I’d recommend it to anyone.
This product was a HUGE game changer for my family and I cannot recommend it enough. I needed to pump in order to give myself more flexibility and freedom without having to give my son formula if it wasn’t necessary. I pump when I’m driving, blow drying my hair, making dinner. Seriously amazing.
There was, however, a learning curve to this. It took me 5 sessions of pumping, reading the guides provided on the app, and adjusting/readjusting to get the suction latched on just right to where I was actually producing a lot.
My advice: read the directions thoroughly! Suction is everything and if you don’t fit it super tightly in your bra, you’re not going to get NEARLY as much milk. I had them loosely in my bra and the suction on the flange wasn’t completely sealed all around my breast and I produced a 1/2 oz from both breasts combined once I kept at it and figured out the suction and which flange would fit my nipple best, I produced 3 oz between both breasts in half the time! While you can def accomplish a lot of chores and things while pumping, don’t do things that cause you to lean over or have to be bounced around a lot because the suction with release and you’ll be pumping very little if nothing out. Next, create a solid routine/system for how you’re going to clean, dry and store your pump and it’s pieces. I have an amazing pump backpack that came with the pump my insurance provided me and I converted it to have everything I need for this pump so it’s incredibly easy to bring with me.
I feel like a human woman again with this pump because you don’t have tubes going everywhere and your nipple exposed. I hating pumping, I was embarrassed and it took SO much time out of my day. Granted, you still need to clean all the parts but you gain back so much time because you can do things!
Another thing I absolutely love is that for me, this pump helps to stimulate my breasts to produce more milk. You can literally wear these for an hour each day and get so much milk and it’s perfect because it increases your production overall which is something I needed because my son wasn’t getting enough milk at the breast and we had to start supplementing with 4oz of formula a day – which none of us enjoyed.
I’ve only been using this a few days (though I’ve used it like 7 times already haha!) so I’ll try to update as time goes on to be sure this product still stays as top notch as I currently think it is.
I hope this helps any lactating mammas out there to know that this is expensive but absolutely worth the time you gain back from it if you can afford it!
Awesome piece of mommy kit!
These performed better than the previous pump my wife was using. She found a big piece of mind being able to move around. I figured some of the cost is going into miniaturization, and was concerned up front that they would not perform as well as the pump we had. No worries, these do very well.
One of my wife’s pumps was making a weird beeping sorta noise. It still pumped but it was annoying. Elvie customer service was fast and quick to replace the pump.
I’d say these are a must have.
I was super nervous about buying this pump as reviews were mixed. Finally took the plunge as I am going back to work and my baby hates formula and I don’t want to be tied to a wall during my lactation time at work. Nice packaging great that they include 2 size flanges and 2 charging cables so you can hit ground running. Tried to connect to app -horrible connectivity issues. Only got 1 to connect and then it randomly disconnected and will not sync again. Ok, whatever -my baby is angry at this point so I figure I’ll feed him on one side and slap the pump on the other side. Holy cow! Super easy to just shove it in the bra press play and it went to town. So far about the same productivity as my medela in style but not tied to the wall!!! (34C bra size btw). Quieter than the wall pump but my office mate will know I’m pumping if I don’t go to the lactation room. I’m pretty upset about the connectivity issues but will update if I can play with it and get it to work.
I was hesitant to buy these mainly for the price tag and at first bought the cheaper momcozy pumps and was disappointed. Finally decided to bite the bullet and order these and I’m in love. I work in a kitchen so stopping to pump wasn’t much of an option for me and the momcozy just constantly leaked all over . Started using these and I pump half the time I did with the momcozy and get at least twice the amount I was getting . Price tag is definitely scary but If you want a quality pump Elvie is the way to go

Not perfect, but still a game change
This wireless pump that fits in your bra is so much more practical than a standard pump that hangs off your front, gets in the way of everything, and is not remotely discreet. Finally I can pump whilst going about my day, and holding my baby to my front – which is impossible with standard wired/tube pumps, and invaluable when you’re with the baby alone several hours a day.
One thing I was worried about was having absolutely gigantic boobs – how could I put these in my bra without my chest looking even bigger? The elvie pumps actually compress into your breasts so it does not make them look significantly bigger than they are. It’s definitely not subtle, and to add to that not silent – there is a clicking sound, but in comparison to other pumps it’s far quieter, but don’t forget the dripping sound of milk also. You wouldn’t notice in a noisy office if that’s where you wanted to use them. However, who cares if anyone does notice, a breastfeeding mother should be free to do what she needs without anyone caring or thinking it’s weird. I know my colleagues would understand.
When you have a set of 2, it gives you x4 of everything which is great. Spares are necessary.
Negatives are that sometimes the pumps emit a high pitched buzzing noise. I returned my first set due to this as the buzzing sound was happening without any parts attached. The app is shockingly terrible and elvie need to sort their developers out to make it actually function as it’s supposed to. I won’t even go into the ins and outs of how bad it is, but to say the 2 star rating on it is generous because it is absolutely unusable. For me it doesn’t matter that much as the main positive is having a pump that means I can be mobile as the Lansinoh one hanging off my front and carting around a huge battery pack was just tedious and impractical. Another negative is that the pumps seem to think they’re full before the tank is full and stop automatically, but I’ve found you can just start it again and it will continue to fill a little longer up to a point. The pumps are kinda bad at leaking, all the milk that’s taken out of your nipple doesn’t go down the hole into the bottle so when you remove it can drip. Also I had a pump in my bra and it must have leaked out the front cos I had a huge wet patch. They have to stay upright, accidentally knocked mine and it went all down the sofa. Final negative is the light on the pump is extemely bright so I have to cover it during night feeds. This would be an issue if you wear a light top in public with them as you’d see it. Sometimes they don’t suck in your nipple properly. There is definite room for a lot of improvement with these.
However, overall for me this has been a game changer, I pump the other side every feed now when baby has one breast and in just a few days I have 5 bags of frozen milk. I’m finally able to build up a supply so my partner has enough for the bottle feeds and I also do it to increase the demand and supply because I’m currently dealing with relentless cluster feeding.
I would say don’t hesitate, it isn’t perfect unfortunately but it will make a huge difference if you’re a busy mum (what mum isn’t).
Good option as a secondary/travel pump, when out and about. But compared to a hospital grade pump (wife had a Spectra) definitely not as effective. Also can get dislodged if active while using, which also impacts effectiveness. App is trash. Not cheap, so be sure before buying (though resell value isn't bad).
