Makes the air smell clean and crisp. has drastically reduced the dust and the outside smells of the city. Being on the 23rd floor of my building there is a lot of dust and city smells. Highly recommend!

The purifier itself is very high quality and I highly recommend it.
The Amazon listing says it will cover 3175 ft2. This number is nowhere in the manual. The manual says “635 ft2 for 5 exchanges/ hr or 1588 ft2 for 2 ex/hr. Effective for larger rooms but purification will take longer.”
Where did the 3k figure come from? This is misleading advertising.

I recently had to get a new HVAC system. It’s a higher-end unit that has a filter in the indoor unit [some indoor units are in the garage, others in a closet inside the house], which eliminates the need to have filters in the return vents in the house.
When deciding on what type of filter to use, I found quite a few DIYers who say it’s not worth getting the really high-priced dense filters, even though those filters say they trap particles that mid-priced filters cannot. These DIYers reasoning the high-priced dense filters make it more difficult for air to pass through them, which requires your HVAC unit to work harder and longer, which leads to higher monthly electric bills. What they say to do instead is use the mid-priced filter and use a high quality in-room air purifier (or air purifiers in multiple rooms).
My house has an open floor plan where the kitchen, eating area, and main TV room are all, essentially, one room. So I placed this Levoit in the middle. It does a fantastic job of clearing the air! Couldn’t be happier. It’s really easy to control, whether you prefer using the buttons on the unit, controlling with an app, or controlling via Alexa. And it is very simple to change the filter. All in all, great unit!
High quality purifier with features to match!
I like the idea of clean air in my house, and have been running multiple purifiers for years. All of my other units are Coway Airmega AP-1512HH Mighty. They have been on for 5 straight years with filter changes and not a single issue.
For no good reason, I wanted to try something new with a higher sq/ft rating.
Ordered a BLUEAIR Blue Pure 211i Max and it made a weird sound right out of the box. Clicking, and the unit shook so something was out of whack. Instead of having it replaced, I returned and went with the Levoit.
As best as I can tell so far, its an excellent unit. Feels sturdy and high quality. Extremely quiet on auto mode, which runs lower than the low setting when the air is clean. Set to low, its still very quiet. High its loud, but not louder than my Coways, and the amount of air its passing is staggering.
I really like the idea of scenario specific filters, which I will try next. Levoit offers 600c filters specific to houses with pets, smokers, etc.
This air purifier is a great unit for a large room or smaller apartment. It worked well when half the country was smoked out for a week and also does a great job during normal conditions. I like being able to set the conditions for when it turns on and shuts off using the app. It is generally pretty quiet, unless its operating on high, but even then its no louder than a normal house fan.

Works great, price could use some work
These filters work great but are a bit costly to keep buying. I had let my original filter run past the replacement notification for about a month. A week past the notification I could tell there was a difference in performance, it took me 3 more weeks to commit and pony up the money for another filter. When I pulled the old one out it was VERY apparent it was done.
Installing the new filter was dummy easy and immediately could SMELL the difference. I will try the pet-specific filter next time, it’s just tough to spend that kind of money every few months.

I was excited to get this air purifier, especially after so many great reviews and head to head comparisons with other brands. It has everything going for it – inexpensive filter replacements, app-driven features, low noise from the fans, great filtration, and even has handles… Just lots of features and great performance.
Unfortunately, I ended up first replacing it, then returning it, due to a metallic high-pitch motor noise, mainly at the lower two fan speeds – out of the box. I even ran it for a few hours on high speed and low to see if it would go away. No luck.
I thought maybe I just had a faulty one, but the replacement had the same issue.
I dropped one star due to the motor noise. Otherwise, 5 stars!
It is not very loud, but for me, it is like having a mosquito buzzing around the room and it really started to bug me (no pun intended). For most, it may not be an issue, since it is not super loud. And if you are not in the same room it will not matter. I just wanted to point out the high possibility that you may have this issue, since I have seen many others on YouTube with the same issue.
Customer service was great (though not available by phone unless you request a call after a chat or leave a VM). I gave them all the details I had, and they assured me they would bring the issue up with the product team. I also attached a video with the sound I mentioned.
I would still recommend this purifier if the motor sound does not bother you.
I ended up getting a Blueair 311i Max, which I am also very happy with, and has most of the same cool features as the Levoit (minus handles and motor noise). And about the same price I paid.

Auto mode works great as does its connection with Alexa
I bought this unit for the main house and a couple of the smaller ones for the bedrooms because of the forest fire smoke that kept drifting thru my area. I am not usually noticeably affected by air quality but my wife has allergies and other health issues – she says she has noticed a definite difference in how she has felt since I got these running.
The auto mode for the unit is excellent….it will monitor the air quality and automatically adjust speed to match current conditions. It also connects easily to Alexa and can be controlled that way. I really like the display that lets you know the current air quality…especially how it changes color if the air quality is decreasing.
Changing the filter is simple…quick twist of the base, pull the old filter out, drop the new one in and twist the base back on…done.
While it has its own phone app for manual control, I connected it with the Alexa app and it is working great.
I’m very happy with this air purifier.
Slight rattle, good service, bigger than I expected
Bought to be ready for wildfire smoke, which hasn’t happened yet (great!) so I don’t really know how well it works.
I leave it in Auto mode and it very occasionally turns on at the lowest speed (when the PM2.5 goes up, I think), not for long, and then it turns itself off and goes completely dark. All in all, pretty unobtrusive.
The unit I got made a very slight rattle which I could only hear because my chair is right next to where I put the unit, and it’s the kind of noise my hearing aids over-amplify, I suspect most people at normal distances would never notice it. I recorded it and asked Levoit if it was normal, and they had me cut the cord on that unit and they sent me another brand new complete unit … which also has that very slight rattle. So that’s probably just normal, but now I have a spare filter 🙂
It’s big as a trashcan, and you can’t put anything on top of it, so think about where you’ll put it. Maybe not right next to the head of your recliner …
I am amazed at the high quality and how heavy duty this Levoit Core 400S air purifier is! It is large and has some weight to it which makes it solid and sturdy. The ABS plastic frame is thick and solid so I won’t have to worry about the frame or top fins breaking like some cheaper purifiers I have seen. The overall design of this unit is awesome and it really has a lot of power to it. I love the perforated intake holes around the entire unit for quick and efficient air filtering. The unit is very quiet compared to others I have and the control panel on the top of the purifier is easy to access and view. This product has a 3-stage filtration which includes a pre-filter, H13 Hepa filter and an activated carbon filter all in one filter. There is a hands-free voice command feature that allows you to control the settings if needed using Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant, but I have not tried that feature yet. There is a laser dust sensor that scans the surrounding air for airborne particles and updates the display on the control panel which is a really cool feature. There are 4 levels of filtration power available on this unit and it can purify the air in a 1980 sq ft room 1x per hour or a 400 sq ft room 5x per hour. Other features include a timer, sleep mode, filter replace sensor and a locking feature. I have been using this air purifier in my bedroom at night when sleeping and it has definetly helped with my allergies. It generates just enough noise and blowing air that I don’t have to use my white noise machine and ceiling fan now, and my sinuses are fine in the morning. I live in a rural area surrounded by dirt roads with one about 100 feet in front of my house so this air purifier was a neccessity for me. I like this air purifier so much I am planning on purchasing another one soon. Hopefully they will be on sale for Amazon Prime day coming up in mid July! This was a great investment for me and I highly recommend this awesome air purifier to everyone else.

Nice machine, working fine, I feel that I have clean air. When there’s any another smoke in the area, it will be indicated in the application.
If you take this machine, I really recommend to use the WiFi application.

In terms of clean air, I’m my opinion this does the job well.
I have two cats and purchased this cleaner at that when my family member visits, her allergies are more under control.
Works great with Alexa, and I like that it has a LOCK button so that my cats can’t jump up on the cleaner and change the settings or even turn it off while I’m gone.
Fan is very quiet on its lowest setting but when changed to highest setting you can definitely hear it very well (it’s loud but still somewhat bearable).
Overall, I’m very happy with the purchase and would recommend this cleaner.

Does the job
Bought when we had a lot of visitors in and out over Xmas. Dust was kept low, smells cleared and as many were sniffling it gave more confidence for health knowing it was taking things out of the air.
I was back and forth between this and the Molekule and ultimately chose this model. Great decision. It is quiet, works great, got rid of mildew smell and the air “feels” fresh in our room. I plan to pick up a few more for our other bedrooms and a larger unit for downstairs. Significantly cheaper than the frilly Molekule. Just buy it and don’t look back.

Just started using this about a week ago. I really enjoy the sleep feature so I can have it on and not be bothered by the noise or blue light because it turns off when sleep is on. Have to give it a few more weeks to see how well it really does but will update this review at that time. So far, I am happy with my purchase.

i don’t know how I lived without my LEVOIT Air Purifier so when it came time to replace the filter I went with the name brand. The filter is easy to install and that it improves the overall air quality in my home. I noticed a difference in my allergies symptoms right away. Overall, the LEVOIT Core 400S Air Purifier Replacement Filter appears to be a high-quality product that effectively purifies the air. I will continue to purchase this item.

This purifier works great. It's quiet and the only time I hear it is when it detects something in the air that requires it to work a little harder, but then slows back down when the air purity level reaches normal again.

Noise at the highest level is rather loud. Usually have product set at 3 noise level is better. Bought the air purifier because of the dust in the house. We put the product downstairs for use between 2 rooms. Still dusty but not as bad.

Es la segunda vez que lo compro (le regale el otro a mi hermano, que despues de 1 ao seguia funcionando al 100, se lo di para eliminar el olor del gato en su cuarto), tiene varias velocidades cada una un poco ms ruidosa que la otra, pero sin llegar a ser molesto. El modo dormir no hace nada de ruido, incluso apaga la luz del display para que descanses a oscuras. Se maneja perfectamente desde el celular o con comandos voz mediante alexa. Yo lo uso todas las noches, porque mis perros duermen en mi cuarto por las noches y es excelente para eliminar el olor a perro (son 2 shitzus, asi que tampoco son muy grandes, ni sueltan mucho pelo. Pero para ellos me funciona perfecto)

This particular Levoit 400S cleared my main family room in the first hour, fan on high.
While running, the wifi/bluetooth discovery was quick and intuitive.
Not a fan of proprietary apps -as this unit is not Home Kit compliant (but does work w Alexa and Google).
The VeSync app shows it actively monitors indoor particulates at PM2.5 -I really hope the readings are accurate.
Overall -right out of the box, the Core 400S seems really promising. Will update in 6mos.

He has not had an attack since installing and running this purifier 24 / 7. Also, when I'm burning something in the kitchen, it kicks on at a higher mode to eliminate the smoke for a bit then goes back to normal (low) mode. I love it.

We heat with a woodstove, and have people with allergies in the house. If it gets a bit smokey from cleaning out the ash, or when cooking fumes get heavier, the automatic function kicks right up and clears the air in minutes. This was really worth the cost.

I purchased this air purifier a few weeks ago, and I’m very pleased with my purchase. It has made such a difference in my home, especially for my wife, who suffers with severe allergies (mainly pet allergies). The filter replacement is so easy and the mobile app provides helpful information on the air quality, filter life, and more. The whisper-quiet operation is great, and it’s been a lifesaver in dealing with cat dander. Plus, the filter lasts for a long time, so it’s worth every penny! We’ve already decided that we want one in every room now, so we’ll definitely be purchasing more!

I bought this to help with cooking smells since I don't have a range hood. I also realized it would help with keeping the air clean when using the wood stove. I have an open floor plan with the large chimney between the two rooms. It does a good job. I like the timer feature. It's very quiet on its lowest setting. I like the way it shows the air quality. Last week the power went out for a couple of hours, so I lit candles. When the power came back on, I turned on the air cleaner and the candle smells were cleared very quickly. I'm not using the smart features very much, but it's nice to have. I recommend this product.
I bought this to help with cooking smells since I don’t have a range hood. I also realized it would help with keeping the air clean when using the wood stove. I have an open floor plan with the large chimney between the two rooms. It does a good job. I like the timer feature. It’s very quiet on its lowest setting. I like the way it shows the air quality. Last week the power went out for a couple of hours, so I lit candles. When the power came back on, I turned on the air cleaner and the candle smells were cleared very quickly. I’m not using the smart features very much, but it’s nice to have. I recommend this product.
A chief reason for selecting this LeVoit air purifier was the user interface, and the unit lives up to the description. I set this up in our bedroom suite and programmed it to daily turn on and clear the air in the evening, then slow down to run quietly with lights off through the night and finally turn off mid-morning. Additionally, I set triggers to turn the unit on during the day if the particle per cubic meter readings exceed a limit I chose and then turn it off again once the problem has been dealt with. Typical triggering events might include hair spray, smoke from extinguished candles, or cooking odors circulating through the house. The only time I actually touch the thing is to remove and vacuum the outer surface of the filter every 3 weeks or so. Happy camper so far – about 3 months of daily use.

We’ve had this unit for only a few days, but we can already tell the difference in air quality in the living room. We just purchased two more of the smaller 300S version, one for the bedroom and one for the garage (where my husband smokes). Very impressed so far.

I’ve always had issues with allergies and from time to time my cats. but since I’ve added this filter in my house I no longer get the allergies attacks any longer . At I was using this air filter full blast for the first week now I just have it in auto. I can now also sleep with out waking up stuffed and unable to breathe. Would recommend just make sure you have the proper filter depending of your environment and circumstances.

This filter eliminated my itching eyes--cleaned the room air quite well. It has been running constantly for several months with no trouble. I vacuum the filter periodically to keep it clean. Great product!

This photo is 2 months after using in a generally clean home with 5 animals! If you are an asthma sufferer or you just want clean crisp air it’s great! DEFINITELY makes a difference in our home! Thank you!!
The video explained installation before I purchased it. When you frist unbox the unit you have to remove the plastic covering the unit’s filter. There is a sticker on the controls reminding you to do this if you forget.
The app used to control the air purifier is straight forward so long as you understand you have to give up privacy to use the feature. By forcing you to open an account and link the account to an email address be aware that it will scrape both your email and phone contacts as the price of that “free” software.
The unit can be controlled with either alexa or Google Home which is nice. Linking the product to these devices is as simple as possible. Use the app to associate with Alexa and press connect on the App. It is that simple. The unit works. Be advised that in high fan speed mode it is noisier than I expected but if you lower the speed it fades into background noise of most homes.
Update to this review customer service gets an A+ rating from me. They were extremely helpful and friendly resolving any issues I had. After a month the air quality has improved and my wife loves that the dust in the house has decreased. I have pet allergies but own a house dog and they have improved. Only complaint is the price of replacement air filters but they do seem to last a while in my environment.

J’tais plutt sceptique en le recevant, j’habite dans une zone de mauvaise qualit de l’air et il m’indiquait air excellent… Il me l’indique toujours mais aprs avoir ar la maison j’ai vu le nombre de mauvaises particules augmenter. A voir sur le long terme je ne sais pas si c’est psychologique mais une impression de mieux respirer.

un oggetto davvero interessante, fa il suo lavoro egregiamente e in ambiente moderno e con arredamento moderno fa la sua bella figura. Purifica l’aria e lascia un ambiente fresco. Bisogna per stare attenti alle dimensioni. Il 400S davvero un prodotto imponente oserei dire, secondo me, per il mio appartamento da 50 m2 sarebbe stato sufficiente il 300. Decisione personale per. Io rimango soddisfatto e consiglio.
There are a lot of air purifiers/filters on the market with dubious claims about “ionizing” your air, realigning your chakras, whatever. This is a no-nonsense HEPA filter. Levoit may not be the absolute cheapest on the market, but it’s a well-made quality product at a pretty good price. The sensor and display showing indoor particulate quality are nice to help you know whether you really need to run the purifier or not, and it has an automatic feature that throttles the fan speed according to how polluted your air is. The fan is loud on high (pretty much the case with any air filter), but on low the fan is whisper-quiet. I can sleep with it running right next to my bed.
The downside: replacement filter currently retails for $50. Ouch. Filter can last you a year with intermittent use, but probably only 3 months or less if you are dealing with wildfire smoke, construction dust, etc.
I do sense the air in my room is cleaner, the device is almost silent, all you hear basically is the air moving, the app is a bit over-rated, it’s just an extension of the control panel on the device, only worthy feature is monitoring the life-expectancy of the filter, which you replace about every 6 months, and they cost a lot so that’s a slight negative. Overall a pleasant experience and hardly any issues.

I hesitated to buy this for a while because it’s a lot of money for my single mom budget. But a coupon showed up and my allergies have been worse this fall so I went for it. So happy I did! What an incredible little device. I’m calling him R2 in case you care. The air in my bedroom is noticeably fresher now. And today I cooked bacon so brought R2 downstairs to help. The little guy worked quickly to bring the air quality from “bad” in the high 600’s! back down to very good within 15 minutes. I don’t have an oven vent so in previous bacon days my house reeked all day. Don’t judge it’s ! Anyhow, highly recommend!
Had this for about a month now. It works great. You know it’s working because when I burned bacon the air quality was red and it amped up the fan to clean faster. It’s quiet. Love that it locks so my toddler can’t change settings. You do have to be careful when picking it up to move because the bottom can twist off

This air purifier fit the bill perfectly. It's quiet, the filters last a long time, and the smart features are interesting to use. I can see how much filter life I have left, what the air quality is at any given time, and the history of the air quality for days and weeks. It's a quality air purifier that didn't break the bank, and I highly recommend the Levoit brand.
