Par contre peu de reglages et l’application promise ne sert a rien, puisque c’est juste un site web pour commander des produits
Ya tenia un descalcificador de otra marca con algunos aos, la necesidad de cambiar la resina condiciono su sustitucin por el Water2buy me decid por el precio, la instalacin la pude hacer yo mismo solamente era sustituir uno por el otro, estoy muy contento con su funcionamiento.
Ho acquistato il prodotto a sconto, un po’ pi leggero di quelli nostrani, ma funziona alla perfezione.
Facile da programmare, esteticamente curato, insomma sono soddisfatto.
Facile da installare, con un po’ di attenzione facile da settare e poi lo dimentichi li, solo il sale una volta al mese. Installato da me pi di un anno fa il calcio dall’acqua quasi scomparso. Docce, rubinetti, lavandini non pi con quel fastidioso bianco
Scrivo dopo pi di un anno per fornire la mia esperienza su questo addolcitore. FUNZIONA A MERAVIGLIA! Dopo aver valutato varie opzioni ho scelto questo perch sulla carta era perfetto per le mie esigenze. Sono un hobbista ed stato facile montarlo. La guida per la taratura stata di grande aiuto. Sono riuscito ad addolcire l’acqua di tutta la casa, nonostante avessi 80 gradi francesi di partenza. L’ho tarato a 10 gradi come a norma. Ad oggi, dopo pi di una anno la taratura non ha necessit di correzione. Sono soddisfatto.
Wir nutzen den Wasserenthrter nun ber ein ganzes Jahr fr unser Zweifamilienhaus. Insgesamt leben hier 5 Personen. Die Wasserhrte lag ursprnglich bei 21 GDH. Nun liegt sie bei ca. 7-8 GDH. Das wirkt sich natrlich positiv auf Dusche, Badewanne Armaturen und Oberflchen aus. Keine Kalkrckstnde oder Schlieren. Die Frauen des Hauses sind sehr glcklich damit und ich kann dazu sagen “Happy wife, happy life’ 😉
Es handelt sich um einen Ionenaustauscher mit einer Kartusche. Je nach Wasseverbrauch muss in dieser Anlage Salz nachgefllt werden. Das Produkt ist auf aktuellem Stand und steuert den Salzverbrauch entsprechend des verbrauchten Wassers. D.h. Das System ist relativ sparsam mit dem Salzverbrauch. Ich hatte zuvor eine komplexere Pendelanlage die ersetzt werden musste. Preis/Leistung ist sehr gut. Habe das Gert seit einem guten Jahr in Betrieb ohne Strung. Entkalke mein Wasser fr den Heisswasserkessel auf 0dh und kann im Sommer mit Solar das Wasser auf Maximum Temperatur hochfahren ohne dass Kalkablagerungen erfolgen.
In unserer Region ist das Wasser extrem hart und hat in einer Mietwohnung, die wir vorher bewohnten, alle Wasserhhne, Wasserkocher, Handbrausen und andere Gerte mit einer dicken Kalkschicht bedeckt, bzw. war unser Verbrauch and Entkalker und Waschmittel (egal ob zur persnlichen Hygiene oder Wsche) extrem hoch. Wie hoch haben wir erst gemerkt, als wir in unserem Haus (auf der anderen Straenseite der Mietwohnung) den Water2Buy W2B800 als Wasserenthrtungsanlage installiert haben! Mittlerweile ist unser Verbrauch an Waschmittel derart gesunken, dass sich die Anschaffung mglicherweise schneller amortisiert als wir anfangs vermutet haben. Darber hinaus ist es ein Genuss in weichem Wasser zu baden oder zu duschen! Allenfalls haben wir den Kauf nicht bereut zumal sich der Verbrauch an Salztabletten wirklich in Grenzen hlt!
Hatte erst berlegt mir ein namenhaftes enkalkungsgert zu holen, das htte aber das 5fache gekostet….. Water2buy tut genau das wofr es da ist und zwar entkalken….. Habe ca alle 4 Monate ein Wasser test gemacht und das Ergebnis ist immer das gleich und zwar kein Kalk im Wasser.
J’avais renonc l’adoucisseur vu les prix, cette fois ci j’ai saut le pas.
Expdi par Chronopost (qui n’a pas toqu et l’a renvoy en bureau, vu le poids du bazar j’tais furieux mais W2B n’y peut rien).
L’appareil est arriv avec le couvercle cass, contact au service client qui m’en a envoy un sans sourciller.
Petite question lors de l’installation, contact au service client qui m’a rpondu rapidement et prcisment.
Par contre j’ai toujours parl avec eux en anglais, c’tait plus simple pour tout le monde.
A savoir quand mme:
L’appareil arrive “nu”.
IL faut prvoir en plus:
-des flexibles de raccordement 1″ (attention au diamtre du tube, si vous prenez trop petit vous aurez une perte de dbit, il faut prendre du mastok).
-un tuyau flexible diametre 10mm pour vacuer le surplus de la cuve et l’eau de rinage (2-3m en tout devrait suffire si l’vacuation est cot.
-dans l’idal, un prfiltre bocal (un seul bocal et un filtre en “fil”)
J’ai du refaire une partie de ma plomberie pour faire un bypass en cuivre mais une fois fait, le raccordement se fait rapidement.
L’application sert uniquement paramtrer l’adoucisseur (vous renseignez les caractrristiques du logement sur le tlphone et il indique quels sont les paramtres renseigner dans l’adoucisseur.) Cela sert uniquement pour la rgnration des rsines.
Le “niveau” d’adoucissement se rgle via une molette sur la gauche de l’appareil prs de la sortie d’eau.
On peut tout fait l’installer tout seul si l’installation se prte bien.
Sinon les modifications de plomberie restent tout fait faisable qui n’a pas peur de se lancer et avale quelques tutos youtube.
Dernier conseil, achetez d’abord le kit pour tester la duret de l’eau, de toutes faons vous en aurez besoin une fois que vous aurez l’adoucisseur et il vous permettra de vrifier avant si il est vraiment ncessaire.
Bref, lancez vous, a vaut le coup ce prix la.
Addolcitore perfetto per una famiglia di 7 persone, consumo di sale in pastiglie davvero contenuto, poi ovviamente dipende dal consumo d’acqua che si fa; installato da me che non sono idraulico, e funziona perfettamente ormai da oltre 8 mesi. Consigliatissimo.
Ps misurata la durezza in gradi Francesi prima ed era oltre 25 gradi dopo l’installazione scesa a 8 gradi
Ottimo prodotto. Funziona perfettamente sul mio impianto in cui arriva acqua a 42 francesi e posso regolare la durezza agendo sulla valvola miscelatrice e misurando la quantit di totale con un kit facilmente reperibile in commercio. Dimensioni slim che consentono un posizionamento agevole anche in spazi ristretti. Consigliato!
scrivo queste recensione dopo alcuni mesi di utilizzo; l’addolcitore funziona bene, facile tarare bene l’addolcimento grazie anche alle cartine reagenti che si trovano nella confezione (poche per mi pare 2) per misurare la durezza dell’acqua. Consuma pochissimo sale (rispetto ad uno vecchio che ho sostituito, probabilmente tarato male), circa un pacco al mese, sembra ben fatto, sicuramente anche bello a vedersi. Ho messo una stella in meno perch le istruzioni stampate che vengono fornite sono ridottissime e non spiegano quasi niente (c’ sull’apparecchio anche una grande rotella con varie funzioni che sono da usare solo per necessit ma non spiegato da nessuna parte come e quando), poi tramite app possibile trovare molte altre cose ma in maniera confusa o dei video che si spiegano ma non chiariscono vari dubbi, che ho risolto per tentativi.
Da keine passenden Einstellungshinweise mitgeliefert wird, ist es schwierig die soll Daten einzugeben.

I enjoyed the use of this softener for almost a year before it unfortunately developed a leak. I contacted Water2Buy and they were very helpful. Firstly we attempted an environmentally friendly fix, they sent me a spare rubber seal to replace the leaking one. Unfortunately I was unable to swap it, even with the help of my favourite plumber, due to it being tightly jammed in. Water2Buy were respectful on follow up calls and honoured the guarantee by sending a full replacement unit. Once I had fitted it and checked it worked, they also organised collection of the original unit for recycling. I’ve been enjoying the replacement softener without fault ever since.
Bear in mind one of the waste pipes comes out the side.
Our unit came with a black lid rather than the green shown in the photos, and one of the plastic lid lugs was broken, but neither is an issue.
Water2Buy kindly provided 2 x 15mm adapters to suit our pipes. Water2Buy were very quick to respond to emails and sent out the parts quickly too.
We also had to buy 2x 2m waste pipes, but it’s a standard size plastic hose, so it’s easy to source.
We needed a plumber to rearrange our pipework slightly, but otherwise we could have fitted this unit ourselves.
The softener was very simple to fit, with x2 holes needed through the wall for the waste pipes.
Immediately our water hardness came down from over 400 to between 0-25 (difficult to be exact on our test strips). The setting are adjustable, but I’ll see how it goes for a few weeks.
Our water now has a softer feel and soap lather lasts far longer.
We installed a much more expensive (x4) softener in our last house, so I wasn’t sure how this much cheaper make/model would stack up. So far it’s absolutely fine and I’d certainly recommend it. If we have any problems I’ll update this review.
molto utile per addolcire l’acqua durissima del mio pozzo. facile da istallare. Per settare i parametri in base al modello scelto consiglio di guardare i video illustrativi che vi aiuteranno passo passo.
c’ inoltre una piccola valvolina da ruotare per regolare la durezza dell’acqua, cosa che non viene nominata nel manuale ma solo guardando i video illustrativi.

I originally paid 1400 for my softener and it stopped working after about 12 years. Called in the original supplier who said it needed replacement at 1350 including fitting and 10 year warranty. I’m a pensioner so limited income so I shopped around and found the Water2buy at 399. I order it, it arrived in 2 days with everything I needed, I already had the plumbing from my old machine, connected up and it was working immediately. Less than 30 minutes from unpacking! And I’m probably the world’s worst at DIY.
The next day I tested the water hardness – it was off the scale at over 1,000 ppm before installation – now it’s at the very bottom of the sacale at less than 5 ppm. Brilliant! My advice, just buy it, it’s everything they claim.
Update. Having got over my tantrum regarding the recommended incompatible hoses (divorce is still annoying me like hell) I am upgrading my review. This actually is an excellent water softener. The app is not an app as we know it Jim, it is a link to few video guides and is not interactive. This is a shame as a decent app could record water use and regeneration frequency, this does not. Could someone please explain to them what a good app is.
I am marking this down because of the disappointment of having purchased their recommended buy !! Hoses which do not fit the softener, immensely disappointing that they can’t get the basics right and recommended incompatible fittings.
Das Anschlieen war einfach, jeder der schon mal einen Heizkrper montiert hat sollte damit keine Probleme haben.
Einen minus Stern muss man wegen der “APP” geben, was keine App sondern einfach nur eine Website und die Salzerinnerung ist nur eine email die man in einem Gleichbleibenden Zeitraum bekommt egal ob man mehr Wasser verbraucht oder nicht. Also was an dem Ding smart sein soll wei ich nicht.
Wir verbrauchen im Monat ca 1 Sack 25kg Salztabletten fr einen 4 Personen Haushalt.
Seit einem Jahr rennt dieses Gert nun problemlos.
Wrde es wieder kaufen, es ist preiswert und einfach zu installieren.
Appareil de trs bonne qualit et facile installer et programmer avec l’appli du Water2Buy W2B800 . Il suffit juste de scanner le QR code pour avoir l’appli. D’autre part, une ractivit du contact apprciable. En effet, j’ai reu un adoucisseur avec un transfo en 110V alors que je suis domicili en France (220V) et des raccords aux canalisations d’eau trop gros. Aprs un change par mail pour expliquer ma situation, Water2Buy m’a envoy directement un transfo et 2 raccords adapts mes besoins et un mot d’excuse.
Je recommande cet appareil qui depuis un mois me donne pleinement satisfaction. Aprs un petit rglage (2 crans droite) sur la visse situe sur le ct gauche, j’ai une eau dont la duret est 7 TH au lieu de 26 TH au dpart.

Die Anlage wurde vor 3 wochen gelieferd, der Installateur meinte das der hauptwasseranschluss erneurt werden sollte bevor er was macht.
Waser- und Abwasser betrieb ist noch am selben Tag vrobei gekomen und hat eine Woche spter alles kostenlos erneurt.
Installateur hat heute die Armarture eingebunden und den W2B800 angeschlossen.
Ich habe selbst die Konfiguration eingesteld ber die website von Water2Buy die man ber denn QR Code bekommt.
Es gehen 50KG Salz Tabletten in de W2B800.
Nach dem alle Wasserabnahme stellen gut durchgesplt waren (es kam noch braunes wasser durch) sieht alles gut aus.
Mache noch einen Update in einigen Monaten.

Malgr le temps d’attente pour recevoir des raccord 3/4, l’adoucisseur fonctionne trs bien. Aprs un mois le th reste constant.
Je recommande. Le service technique rpond rapidement par mail vos questions, et font le ncessaire pour que vous soyez satisfait.

Facile installer (j’avais anticip l’ajout d’un adoucisseur il y a des annes … pas eu besoin de couper des tuyaux!). A priori conforme mes attentes (manque de recul sur une utilisation longue et donc rgneration, etc.). Mon eau est devenue douce et plus de traces de calcaire sur ma parois de douche, …
Un petit manque: une cl molette de bonne taille pour serrer l’crou en 1″. Tout le monde n’en a pas chez soi et faire cet achat pour 1 branchement revient cher. Donc pourquoi ne pas fournir un modle simple en “plastique” avec l’adoucisseur? So, why not provide a simple plastic 1″ wrench with the softener? Also a little miss of information about how to regulate the softenning process of the water.

Suite l’installation trs simplede l’adoucisseur, il ne semble pas fonctionner. Au lancement du cycle de rgnration, l’cran se met clignoter et un bip sonore retentit. Aucune information ni aucun document clair ne permet de prendre connaissance des codes erreurs et il est impossible de dpanner. Aujourd’hui, l’appareil ne nous sert a rien. Aprs quelques mois et un support qui n’a rien lch, nous avons trouv la panne et remplacer le bloc moteur. L’appareil fonctionne et est conforme la description. Je change ma note de 1 4
Zunchst war ich skeptisch… hatte ein Angebot eines Marktfhrers inkl. Montage enthalten. Zum 7-fachen des Preises gegenber der W2B800. Also dachte ich mir: einfach ausprobieren. Im schlimmsten Fall investiert man nochmals einige Euros in einen freien Sanitr…
Aber selbst fr einen absoluten Laien wie mich, war die Installation selbst ohne Probleme und in unter 2h machbar. Voraussetzt, der Montageblock ist bereits eingebaut (wie in meinem Fall).
Seit knapp 2 Wochen tut die Anlage das was sie soll: Wasser enthrten – und das mit Erfolg, und subjektiv nicht besser oder schlechter als die teure Konkurrenz.
Die Anleitung knnte etwas besser sein und lsst teilweise Interpretationsspielraum und das Plastikgehuse mutet etwas billig an, ansonsten kann ich aber berhaupt nicht meckern!

It does a good job, and after a month of use it has so far been reliable. You might want to get some water test strips – I bought some inexpensive ones from Amazon which are fine. Also, note that the table of regeneration settings printed in the leaflet are not entirely consistent with those on the website: use the ones on the website, they seem to work better.
I’ve had a couple of problems, neither of which are a criticism of the machine.
Firstly, the water was still coming out a little hard, until I discovered that near the top (below the control head) on the left hand side is a bypass valve to allow some hardness of water to remain. For full softening, it needs to be turned fully anticlockwise. Problem solved instantly.
Secondly, hardness returned after a few days. It turned out that a salt bridge had formed, so that the salt tablets were stuck in an arch above the water level and therefore the water wasn’t becoming brine for the regeneration cycle. A non-splintering wooden stick worked down through the salt tablets to break the arch solved that problem – give it time to dissolve to form brine, then turn the control knob clockwise to initiate a regeneration cycle, and softness flows forth once more. I’ll confess that the second time it happened was of my own making, as I put some granulated salt I had left over from a dishwasher softener in with the tablets, and of course the granules filled the gaps so the tablets locked together and couldn’t fall. Pouring some extra water through to dissolve the remaining granulated salt (after a stir with the stick to break the arch) made that problem go away, and it all seems very stable now.
I had originally posted a very negative review on here as my water softener was not working at all, despite being installed by a plumber. We really struggled to tell from the instructions if was wrongly installed or wrongly set up so I contacted another plumber and 3 water softener specialist locally to get it checked but no one would touch it.
Having posted my negative review, the customer service team from Water2 Buy contacted me and talked me through some key installation pointers, It turned out the dials to open/close the inflow and outflow pipes were set to closed. As soon as I turned them, the unit worked… and now 3 weeks later, we are enjoying soft water throughout the house. It is making a significant difference to areas like the toilet bowl which was previously stained brown.
In the end great service, but shame the instructions are not easy to understand. It would also be helpful if there were more registered installers as there is no one near to me.
Nach langem berlegen habe ich das Produkt gekauft. Die Installation erfolgte durch einen Fachmann. Ich habe die Gelegenheit genutzt und auch den Druckminderer wechseln lassen. Insgesamt 2 Stunden Arbeit. Die Inbetriebnahme habe ich selber bernommen. Die Webseite, die als App dargestellt wird, hilft bei der Erstinstallation. Wenn man im Internet die Informationen zusammenstellt, dann gelingt die Einrichtung ziemlich zgig. Mittlerweile habe ich direkt ber den Entkalker den Wert 6 eingestellt. Davor hatten wir 16. Wir sind zufrieden. Salzverbrauch ist brigens sehr gering, was mich ein wenig stutzig macht. Aber solange das Wasser entkalkt aus dem Wasserhahn kommt, sollte alles passen. Nicht vergessen: Registrierung des Produktes beim Hersteller ber den eingegebenen Link bringt 7 Jahre Herstellergarantie.
Cet adoucisseur est trs facile mettre en service et brancher. Dommage que le kit d’installation ne soit pas avec l’appareil… et pas disponible lors de mon achat (on trouve facilement les flexibles chez brico dpt ou autre).
L avantage de cet appareil c’est qu il a un capteur volumtrique et donc la rgnration ce fait uniquement quand le volume d’eau est atteint ! donc moins de consommation de sel et d eau !
Il manque une notice en Francais ou Anglais pour la partie MENU car il n y a pas d explication sur tout les parametres.
Bought this W2B 200 3 weeks ago replacing one that had been there before so plumbing was already there.

Purchased some pipes and waste fitting kit from a local dealer 40. The depth of the softener is as stated but needed to remove the rear panel of the kitchen unit which was 500mm deep to fit it, really need to allow at least 550mm with 90 degree fittings at the rear for the softener to fit in. Also left the green cover off not needed.
After fitting an electrical supply filled container with 10 kg of salt and 4litres of water after a few hrs water felt different, the water test kit supplied is ok but not very useful just tells you if your water is hard or soft or in between no accurate measurement. I had purchased some test strips which told me my cold un softened water was about 350-400 and my water after the softener was about 80 so really pleased. I noticed areal difference in the shower glass really clean and doors slide on the runners a lot smoother. Kettle descaled.
Set up the timer etc via YouTube instruction booklet not very good but got over it. Tested water usage as im on a meter after 600 litres used and it went into a regen I checked water meter before and after it used 110 litres so I phoned help line adjusted the regen and back wash times and now uses between 70 and 90 litres of water for a regen every 3-4 days this I think works out about 12 per year water usage not bad. Salt used is about 10kg per 3 weeks. If you are thinking of buying this W2b 200 good value for money would recommend time will tell if it lasts. Thing to remember they all do the same thing end of the day you can pay over 1000 for other units. I hope this review is useful to someone I found out lots of info by reading here and the Q and A as-well.

Attention les sorties sont en 34. Pour avoir l’adapteur en 27, il suffit de le demander au fournisseur qui vous l’enverra trs rapidement. Trs bon SAV galement.
Peut-tre un petit bmol : mme si la documentation d’installation est bien faite et agrmente de vido, je trouve qu’il manque quelques informations sur la faon de lancer une rgnration manuelle (surtout la premire fois), et sur la vis de rglage du calcaire… Mais a reste un dtail dans tout cet ensemble trs satisfaisant.

Dans mon cas, j’avais tourn la vis fond dans le sens inverse des aiguilles d’une montre et j’avais un th tellement bas que mon kit de test goutte goutte ne fonctionnait pas (je pensais mon kit dfectueux ( l’chantillon devait passer d’abord au rouge puis au bleu au moment de la mesure th mais l il restait vert comme le reactif). J’ai donc tourn la vis dans le sens des aiguilles d’une montre pour relever le th. Je suis entre 15 et 20 et pour moi, c’est suffisant. Tester votre eau pour affiner votre rglage. Nul part il ne parle de cette vis dans la notice.
Firstly the results, great. Instant soft water and it got softer after a week as I suspect the limescale in all the pipes was removed. Already saving money on soap and detergents and time cleaning shower screens. Softened water does taste a bit different, I don’t like it so have left a tap in the kitchen for drinking. Also left the garden taps on Unsoftened water.
This unit, the w2b800, is pretty big, but the bigger the better. The unit is configured to regenerate after a certain volume of water is passed through it(metered). It then runs a regeneration cycle at 3am. You test the water with a kit supplied to work out the config to use and set it up via the little screen on the top of the device. We regenerate every 5.7 cubic meters. For a family of 4 this is about 12 days worth of water. When it regenerates it uses about 90l of water and some salt (regeneration is effectively flushing the resin core that catches the limescale with salty water to clean it). This is far less often and more efficient than smaller units, so fit the biggest you can get in. The unit will hold about 75kg of salt, which I think will last a long time, perhaps a year….again very efficient compared to smaller units.
Fitting it was a little complex as I had to divert the mains to the plant room where the unit lives and back again. Getting the right fittings was a pain, the 800 is made for 3/4 inch fittings and flexis in this size are very hard to find, so I called the w2b support team and they sent free adapters to allow 22mm pipes to connect. I then found flexi pipes with built in elbows on the net (actually from a softener company).
Set up was ok, but to be honest the instructions are a bit vague in places. You need to read the info on the web and the printed stuff that comes with it…but it’s a bit spread out and hard to follow initially, really they need a nice printed walk through that covers everything. For instance there is a little black mixer valve on the unit that you can adjust to allow some water to bypass the unit, this is not mentioned anywhere on the printed notes and I only happened across it somewhere on the website….if this is open the unit barely softens the water so it’s quite important.
The support guy is great, very helpful and responsive.
So all in all I’m very happy. Get the biggest softener you can fit in for higher efficiency.

Una cosa che devo dire negativa che lo scatolo un po leggerino ed infatti il coperchio come tanti arrivato leggermente rotto, ma con un po’ di colla l’ho sistemato inoltre il coperchio del sale quello bianco proprio un foglietto di plastica che potrebbero farlo decisamente meglio
Comunque il prezzo fa sicuramente la differenza…. il suo lavoro lo fa e sono contento di averlo acquistato

So the newest model which arrived at my house late November 2020 doesn’t have an overflow on the side – so I queried and got the answer that they’ve updated the design so that there is now a float valve in the tank which means it can no longer be overfilled. Great, makes the install job easier.
Our supply pipe enters, there’s a stop cock then a spur off to my utility room sink and outside tap, I cut the other side of the spur which is in 15mm copper pipe and fitted an elbow appliance tap on each side of the cut. To these I connected new 1.2m braided steel hoses with 3/4 connectors and right-angled at one end (9/ea) which run to and from the water softner. I originally used washing machine hoses but got worried about one failing and leaking. For the waste outlet I used garden hose into the washing machine standpipe.
The washing machine needs less than half the detergent it used before, otherwise you end up with very soapy clothes at the end! We use hard water for cold drinks for flavour reasons but soft water in the kettle/coffee machine for the sake of avoiding limescale.
The Water2Buy sales e-mail address have been very helpful so far, I had a couple of questions re warranty and also the regen settings which I wanted to tinker with so if regened less often. They replied to both within a few hours with knowledgeable responses.
No issues with water pressure.
So far so good, the showers are cleaner, and chrome plug holes and the like don’t collect scale like they used to.
Recomiendo ya que en la aplicacin de la web water2buy y en el manual no lo dicen, una vez programado el aparato realizar un ciclo completo manual de regeneracion ya que si no se hace prcticamente hasta que lo haga la mquina el agua no sale con buenos valores.
No tiene wifi, lo nico que tiene es que al leer con el smartphone el cdigo QR del aparato te dirige a una pgina donde despus de dar los valores de dureza “DH o Th del agua ” te dice los valores que debes introducir en la descalcificador.
No recomiendo guiarse por los PPM, es mejor guiarse por grafo de dureza.
Der groe Wasserenthrter hat es geschafft, unser Wasser (Umgebung Wrzburg) von 40Grad Hrte auf 0 ! zu bringen! Ein unglaublich starker Effekt: waren vorher die Glasduschen nach einmaliger Benutzung schon undurchsichtig, die schwarzen Waschbecken wei gefleckt und alle wasserbetriebenen Gerte stndig verkalkt, von Kaffeemaschine bis Eiertopf, so haben wir jetzt ein so vollkommen weiches Wasser, dass man praktisch keine Wasserspuren mehr ausmachen kann. Und das vom ersten Augenblick der Inbetriebnahme an! Die Installation hat unser Handwerker in wenigen Stunden bewerkstelligt, das Gert hat sofort funktioniert. Es verbraucht einiges an Salz, aber das ist die Sache wert. Es luft ohne weitere Wartung. Wir sind extrem zufrieden und rgern uns nur, dass wir es nicht frher angeschafft haben. Wir betreiben es in einem groen Haus mit bis zu 13 Bewohnern.
Ho provato con il test e mi da, dopo due gocce, colore verde chiaro…aggiungendo le gocce arriv intorno ai 16, 17 gocce con acqua verde scura. Per non capisco quanti gradi francesi sono, se inizia ad essere dal verde chiaro (0 gradi francesi) oppure no…non capisco.
Per adesso funziona bene, vedremo nel tempo…
Warum ein Stern Abzug:
1. Leider hatten wir am Anfang Fehlfunktion im Bypassventil. Das Problem war gelst aber es dauerte eine Weile. Es gibt keine Hotline in Deutschland. Die Kommunikation erfolgte per e-mail & google-bersetzer mit youtube links.
2. Im Men der Anlage gibt es keine deutsche Sprache (englisch, russisch, trkisch, …).
3. Betriebsanleitung ist im google-bersetztem deutsch.
4. Eine App, gibt es auch nicht, nur eine Web Seite.
Ich warte Dauertest ab, aber aktuell fr den Preis wrde ich die Anlage empfehlen.
Les raccords sont en 1″ ce qui, dans mon cas, ncessit l’achat de flexible au rayon chauffage et de rducteur.
Le rglage est simple mais il faut conserver la langue anglaise car le site du vendeur/fabriquant ne donne les rsultats qu’en Anglais et faire la correspondance entre les termes franais et anglais peut tre rdhibitoire.
Certains items du menu ne sont pas expliqus, j’attends une rponse du vendeur.
Sinon, le produit fait son job ds la mise en route.
Edit : aujourd’hui en 2021 pas de rponse du vendeurs suite mes questions sur le paramtrage, et mes recherches sur internet n’ont rien donn !
Sinon il fonctionne correctement et depuis son achat j’ai consomm 3 sacs de sel (15kg chacun).
J’ai achet cet adoucisseur pour une installation en maison. Pas de chance la livraison. Le capot tait fl. Premier change avec le SAV via AMAZON. Relivraison d’un capot neuf une semaine aprs.
Lors de l’installation je n’avais pas le bon diamtre de tubes d’vacuations dans le package. Renvoi par le SAV sous une semaine aussi de tous les lments ncessaires, y compris les joints.
DErnier point une fois l’installation faite, sur le site il n’est pas vident pour moi de trouver les renseignements. Il est voqu une application mais en ralit l’application “mobile” n’existe pas. En ajoutant /app l’adresse du site vous tomberez sur une page ou vous retrouverez le manuel, les videos et un calculateur permettant de faire les bons rglages pour l’adoucisseur. Je vous conseille d’acheter un kit de mesure de duret. Vous pourrez mesurer finement le de duret et paramtrer en consquence.
Dernire difficult pour moi, bien rgler l’adoucisseur. Aprs mise en service mon eau passe de 32 f 1f. Aprs plusieurs changes avec le SAV et une ractivit assez incroyable de leur part, je finis par rgler l’aide de la vis prvue la sortie 10f.
Au final, un adoucisseur avec un super rapport qualit prix, garanti 7 ans, un SAV ractif… TOP pour moi.
Dusche (Glas) nach jedem benutzen abgezogen und trotzdem immer Kalkflecken berall also an jedem Wasserhahn usw. wir hier liet hat sicher die gleichen Probleme mit dem Kalk.

Sie macht was sie soll und das ohne Schnickschnack wie App oder grafische Anzeigen.
Lsst sich aber mit der Anleitung gut einstellen und aufstellen.

Salz ist noch drin … ich warte noch ob sie sich meldet wenn das Salz alle ist das wei ich halt noch nicht.
Das wichtigste ist aber das wir direkt danach ( WasserMenge im Speicher beachten ) Eine Wasserhrte von 7gdh hatten und das seit dem haben. Und endlich berhaupt kein Kalk mehr im Wasser. Wasserkocher nach der zeit kaum eine Spur von Kalk. Mein Fazit: wer weiches Wasser will ist hier richtig, wer zustzlich Komfort in der Anzeigen oder bunte Bilder will muss mehr Geld ausgeben.
This was a replacement for an old softener under our sink. It’s a large and heavy machine, and we had great difficulty fitting it into the space and had to remove the floor of the cupboard and some of the back panel to give enough depth and room for it, even without its green plastic cover. This would not fit in the space and would not have been removable even if we had got it in as it covers the whole top of the machine, not just the part where you add the salt. We now use just the white plastic cover over the top of the refill space and have no use for the green top.
We bought the accompanying kit of hoses and various fasteners, but found the hoses were too stiff and thick and heavy to go in the space behind the machine, so we re-used our old plastic ones from the previous machine, which are thinner and more flexible than the lines in the kit. This worked OK, but we felt that the price for the kit was high since we really only used the jubilee clips and one or two other small items and are left with two useless and expensive hoses. Would advise you to try your old hoses, if you have them, or buy new bendy ones and a few bits and pieces of connectors and clips as you find you need them.
Once eventually up and running, it works well. Water hardness test strips show we have softened water throughout, and it uses less salt than our old model. It recharges automatically when necessary, so no need to set it to holiday mode when you go away and no water is being used.
All in all, a good buy if you have the skills and strength to instal it yourself. The online videos which come with the pack are very helpful.
Dit is een volume gestuurde waterontharder, dus iets beter dan de tijdgestuurde variant.
Dankzij de ingebouwde flowmeter, zal deze na bijvoorbeeld 3000 liter kalkvrij water te hebben gemaakt, zichzelf gaan schoonspoelen, dit kun je instellen op een tijdstip dat er geen afname is, standaard instelling 03:00.
De aansluiting is volledig van kunststof, dit is mijn inziens wat fragiel: wanneer het kunststof wat ouder wordt, dan vraag ik me af hoe lang het goed blijft. Jammer dat er geen kunststof haakse bochten bijzaken.
Het deksel op het zoutreservoir ( dus niet de groene afdekkap) stelt niets voor en erg dun, en past niet echt. Had daar bij de productie 1 euro meer aan uitgegeven.
Verder werkt het automatische programma prima, en is eenvoudig in te stellen.
Na 2 maanden. Gebruik: kalk is inmiddels 0. Zeer gering zoutverbruik. Apparaat maakt geen geluid.

Really pleased with the product. It does exactly as I wanted it to do. The water is soft lovely to wash in and there are no more patches of lime scale perfect.
La programmation trop facile tout est dj enregistr ou presque il n’y a plus qu’a valider, il faut juste comprendre que l’injection d’eau et les programmes sont lis entre eux.Une fois tout pass franchement moi je trouve que c’est parfait.
Bought in April 2019. I had some queries on salt use which I emailed to the company. They called me back from Dublin within the hour. Excellent machine with water as smooth as silk.
quip sur une installation o l’eau prsente une duret mesure 280-300 ; Une fois install et rgler fond l’aide d’une simple bis de rglage manuelle, l’eau est proche de 0 en duret. Facile rgler, j’ai approcher le niveau aux alentours de 100.
Facile installer, les clips en raccord 34 sont costaud malgr que la partie raccordement soit en plastique… prvoir une rduction si vous tes en 20/27, et des flexibles. Air ils ne sont pas fournies.
La sortie purge pour le rinage est quipe d’un refoulement donc inutile de prvoir une pompe de relevage, cependant, la sortie de trop plein est libre donc prvoyez une vacuation proximit juste ou cas ou.
EFH, 3 Jahre alt, 3 Personen, 80 qm Wasser pro Jahr, dH 20, Kalk berall (alle Waschbecken und Hhne, Waschmaschine und -kocher, Kaffeeautomat, Geschirrspler, Dusche, Bgeleisen brauchten regelmig entkalkende Pflege), Verbrauch von Putzmittel, entkalkenden Tabs und Salz sowie die verplemperte Zeit bewegten mich zum Kauf der Anlage zzgl dem passenden Zubehr und etwas Werkzeug. 4 Stunden Wasser abstellen, alles installieren, fertig.
Situation nach Installation:
Anlage mit ca. 30 kg Salz gestartet. Einstellungen simpel und gem. Anleitung Standard-Programm durchgefhrt. Kaltwasser bereits nach einer Stunde Betrieb dH 0. Anlage pfeift und jault bei Wasserfluss. Support angerufen : am Rckspler den Druck auf 3 bar reduziert. Gepfeife und Gejaule weg. Das Wasser hatte gefhlt eine entkalkende Wirkung. Man konnte zuschauen, wie alles “von alleine sauber” wurde. Warmwasser dauerte 4 Wochen, bis da kein Kalk mehr raus kam.
Situation heute (ca 3-4 Monate nach Installation):
ich liege auf der Couch und seit Wochen hat keiner mehr Kalk entfernen mssen. Kalktabs brauchen wir nicht mehr, Splmaschinensalz auch nicht. Habe noch 2 Flaschen Zitronensure brig. Vom Salz fr die Anlage sind etwa 10-15 kg verbraucht. Man hrt sie nicht, Wasserdruck im Haus steht stabil.
Wir sind glcklich!
sinon achetez 2 flexibles inox de 75cm dans le diamtre voulu dans mon cas 1pouce ,prvoir un filtre et rducteur de pression avant l adoucisseur .
Les rglages diverse de l adouscisseur sont trs facile ,tout est clairement marque dans la notice ou sur le site du constructeur .
Suivre l adresse d enregistrement du produit marqu sur la notice pour bnficier de la super garantie .
Duret avant adoucisseur 43f ,maintenant 15f et je vois trs nettement dans mes viers et wc la diffrence d entartrage ,il y a plus rien .
Prix hors concurrence pour ce genre d appareil et plus besoin de service facturs hors de prix par certaines socits

Le problme c’est que nous ne l’avons install que rcemment car la maison tait en rnovation.
Aprs installation, nous avons mis les rglages sur les paramtres par dfaut comme indiqu dans la notice. Seulement, notre eau est trs calcaire. Donc malgr le paramtrage par dfaut, il y’a normment de calvaire dans la bouilloire. Du coup j’ai cherch partout une information de rglages mais rien…. J’ai tent de poser une question sur l’article mais *suite un problme, impossible d’exciter la requte… * en attendant j’ai une peau sensible qui me gratte normment aprs la douche malgr une crme hydratante.
Cela dit c’est mon exprience mais je suis persuade que c’est un excellent article. Je vais donc partir en recherche de l’information de rglage avec mon eau trs dure. Si le vendeur pouvait m’aider l-dessus a serait top…
There were a few hiccups at first as no by-pass was supplied with the water softener (required by law in the UK) and the braided hoses (that have to be purchased separately) did not fit my water supply despite being as recommended. As the rest of the kitchen fitting was dependent on the water softener, my fitter had to go out to buy replacements urgently, although W2B later recompensed the cost. My fitter said that it is unusual for a water softener to be sold without everything in the appropriate sizes included but I guess that this is done as the company is selling in various countries and at a very competitive price?
It was impossible to use the blue cover as this made the water softener too tall to fit in a kitchen unit (someone else suggested cutting a hole in the floor of the cupboard but this was impossible as the softener extended over the plinth.)
As one can imagine I had a number of contacts with the company, mostly via Amazon, although W2B responded fairly quickly. As they are located in Eire, direct contact was difficult to achieve without incurring costs. However, there is now an email address on their website and an 0845 telephone number.
Setting up the meter controls wasn’t too difficult following the Instruction Manual – once I had discovered that “Press ….” really meant “Press and hold ….” and after I had elicited the hardness of my water from my water supplier’s website.
Apparently, one has to reset the clock after a power cut and when the clocks change, but in the latter case I probably won’t bother as I have left the regeneration time at the 3am default value; if this alters by an hour there should be no problem as I have not heard any noise during regeneration.
My experience regarding salt consumption is limited so far but I estimate that it is running at 2.5kg (1.30) per week, as suggested by W2B for a small household. However, I must remember not to buy a 25kg bag again as it is rather heavy!
However, the ‘recommended’ hoses the company suggests are so stiff that they have made the unit impossible to fit. They cannot be bent and when connected to the 3/4 inch supply the end connectors to go into the unit are at the angle they are at and can’t be rotated. So you’re likely to end up with a very strong coil or two of the hosing blocking behind the unit and/or be unable to position it where you’d like because you can’t orientate the softener due to having it connected to two inflexible hoses that won’t flex.
The unit will also have to be at an angle under the sink because of the connectors. So having to source some hoses as flexible as the ones shown on the excellent installation video and hope it then works.
Suggest someone at the company actually tries to install one of these with the parts they recommend. Then they wouldn’t irritate fitters and purchasers as much.
UPDATE Completely by chance (I genuinely believe that) the company phoned to follow up on the unit. Very nice chap and the answer is to use washing machine hoses (which I will now do). It’s not the problem that’s the problem, it’s how it’s dealt with and I don’t think the call was prompted by this review so I’m a happy customer.

The installation manual is a bit confusing, mostly because of the poor and ambiguous instruction diagram pictures. Eventually I followed some helpful youtube videos for installation. Also be aware that for this model (W2B800), it only comes with 1″ plumbing fixings, which isn’t compatible for most household piping (e.g 1/2″ or 3/4″ are common size) and the suggested plumbing hose for this product on amazon is NOT the right size to work with 1″ pipe.The seller however is actually very helpful sending me replacement fixings within days after I contacted them. A big thumb up for their service.
1 month after the installation, The softener works very well. There is no longer lime scales on my shower screen or water taps and the water feels so much smoother :). As of the now, I am very happy with this product!
Dotato di rigenerazione volumetrica, si pu attivare (impostandola da men) quella cronometrica di sicurezza; nel caso non si raggiungano i 3000 l entro i 4 giorni stabiliti per legge e non si vogliano lasciare le resine cos tanto tempo senza il processo che oltre, appunto, a rigenerarle, le sterilizza, impedendo la formazione di batteri.Non provvisto di cloratore, inutile per chi si approvvigiona dalle rete idrica comunale, consigliato per chi usa acqua di pozzo o fonte.Il consumo di acqua durante la rigenerazione di circa 80 l (dipende dalla pressione con cui vi arriva l’acqua) ed il consumo di sale minimo (dipende da quanta acqua consumate). Dotato di valvola by-pass per miscelare l’acqua trattata con un minimo di acqua grezza per avere la durezza voluta, ricordo che l’acqua demineralizzata pura, essendo avida di sali, risulta essere aggressiva per le tubature in ferro. Infine volevo spendere un plauso al venditore che ha risolto il problema della copertura blu arrivata rotta per il trasporto (strano perch costruita in plastica morbida), mandandomene addirittura 2, in quanto la prima consegna andata persa e risulta essere ancora in Germania dopo 40 giorni.

My older Monarch softener used to regen on a timer every night whether it needed to regen or not, which is far less economical than this model which regens only after passing a user-programmable metered volume of water. Manual overide regen is very easy; I only used this to test the system after first fitting but it could be used if the water doesn’t feel so soft and is due to regen later that night.
Access to filling with salt is easy even when the unit is tucked into the far corner of the corner sink unit if you position it on the floor by cutting out a hole in the base cabinet. I leave the main plastic top off for easier access as there’s a second lid over the salt filler to stop dirt getting in. We live in a very hard water area and top up with salt about every 3-4 weeks for a 3-adult household. It uses a 25kg bag of salt around every 2-3 months.
The initial cost of this unit is very quickly recouped by eliminating limescale in household hot and cold water systems, boilers, tanks and appliances which work more efficiently with soft water and use much less soap and detergent in the washing machine and dishwasher. No more limescale on taps, kitchen worktops, toilet, shower heads and glass shower screens. You should feel the difference as soon as your water system has cleared of hard water which could take a day or two. Over a period of about 6 months it should leave your system completely clear of limescale, even the hot water tank. This will help appliances work more efficiently and increase their longevity whilst reducing servicing costs. I wouldn’t be without a water softener in a hard water area and I’m very pleased with this product.
UPDATE: 3 years after fitting it’s still performing as new. Cannot fault this water softener.
Ich kann nun nach meiner ersten Erfahrung sagen, wer sich mit der Anleitung beschftigt und die Bewertungen hier liest, wird mit der Anlage zurechtkommen. Weiterhin kann ich behaupten, dass Sie einwandfrei nach Test funktioniert, dass Wasser fr die Befllung der Heizungsanlage war korrekt enthrtet.
Wer Sorge hat, dass die Anlage eventuell fr manche Gebiete nicht genug Leistung hat, dem sei gesagt (nach Rckfrage bei dem Hersteller direkt bis max. 44 dH) es funktioniert, ihr braucht euch keine Sorgen machen. Wir befinden uns in einem Gebiet mit 33 dH, also noch etwas Spielraum.
Ein Heizungsinstallateur, welcher anderweitig bereits Enthrtungsanlagen installiert, wird hier keine Herausforderungen haben… die Bedienungsanleitung war noch nicht aufgeschlagen und die Anlage stand korrekt.
Wrden wir wieder so machen und kaufen, schlielich sind nun im Rahmen des Neubaus wieder ein paar Tauschmittel fr anderweitige Ausgaben verfgbar.
Das anschlieen der Anlage war zwar relativ leicht, aber zumindest bei uns mit erheblichem Aufwand verbunden, da die Anlage nicht in der Nhe des Hauptwasserrohrs aufgestellt werden konnte. Da ich keine Schluche verlegen wollte, habe ich circa 8 Meter Verbundrohr (26mm) sauber im HWR verlegt und isoliert. Fr feste Installationen sehr zu empfehlen, da leicht zu verarbeiten und gnstig.

Eine Mischarmatur habe ich NICHT installiert, da die Entkalkungsanlage (w2b800) bereits ber ein internes Mischventil verfgt. Ich habe die Hauptwasserleitung (kalt) nach dem Wasserzhler und VOR dem Gartenwasserabzweig unterbrochen und einen neuen Kreislauf fr die Anlage eingebunden.
Fr das abdichten von Wasserleitungen empfehle ich Loctite-Dichtband zu nutzen, da es einfach zu verarbeiten ist wie Teflonband (meist undicht), aber dicht hlt wie Hanf (grausig zu verarbeiten):

KONFIGURATION
Das konfigurieren der Anlage ist kinderleicht. Allerdings ist die beiliegende Anleitung ein Witz und man sollte die deutsche Anleitung des baugleichen Kadotec BNT 165-Steuerventils nutzen.
Die Anlage kann je nach Wunsch nach Wasserverbrauch, Anzahl von Tagen, Festzeiten oder einer Mischung aus Wasserverbrauch und Tagen regenerieren. Wir haben uns fr letzteres entschieden, was sich im Men “Meter Override” nennt. So regeneriert die Anlage nach dem eingestellten Wasserverbrauch, bei uns nach 3.000 Litern (abhngig von Personenzahl und Wasserhrte – Tabelle liegt der Anlage bei), oder maximal nach 7 Tagen (einstellbar). Aus hygienischen Grnden halte ich 7 Tage fr angemessen. Bedeutet dass die Anlage nach 7 Tagen autom. regeneriert, falls die 3.000 Liter bis dahin nicht verbraucht sind.
Ansonsten gibt die beiliegende Anleitung genau vor, welche Werte fr welchen Anlagentyp eingestellt werden mssen.
FUNKTION
Direkt nach dem anschlieen und konfigurieren, erzeugte die Anlage auch schon superweiches Wasser (Hrte: 0dH). Da die optimale Wasserhrte jedoch 8dH betrgt, bei zu weichem Wasser kann Metall korrodieren und Seife lst sich nicht mehr so gut auf, haben wir das Stellventil entsprechend nachjustiert, bis wir eine Wasserhrte von 7dH erreichten. Dazu musste wir jedoch das Ventil fast zur Gnze ffnen, also komplett in Uhrzeigerrichtung aufdrehen, und anschlieend ca. 8 klicks zurck (das Ventilrdchen rastet in kleinen Schritten ein). Noch als kleine Info: Wer Kunststoffleitungen in seinem Haus hat, so wie wir, kann wohl auch problemlos auf 6dH runter. Wir haben uns daher fr die Mitte (7dH) entschieden.
Im Display wird die Wassermenge, in Tonnen, bis zur nchsten Regeneration angezeigt. Bei uns zhlt also, bei jedem aufdrehen des Hahns, die 3.0 langsam runter. Testweise haben wir nach 1T (1.000 Liter) den Regenerationsprozess manuell gestartet, um auch die Abfluleitung auf Dichtheit zu prfen und die Anlage auch einmal komplett zu splen. Alles lief ohne Probleme.
FAZIT
Tolle Entkalkungsanlage fr kleines Geld! Lediglich die Kunststoffanschlsse wirken auf mich etwas filigran, lieen sich jedoch problemlos anschlieen und mit der Zange festziehen.

Inutile descrivere i vari disagi dovuto a questo tipo di fornitura.
Comunque, visto che non avevo la predisposizione od un sistema di Bypass, ho provveduto ad intercettare la tubazione principale della mia abitazione. Preciso che la conduttura principle giunge sotto ad una nicchia dove posta la caldaia ove non esisteva nessun tipo di spazio pretore montare un addolcitore di nessuna misura:-(
Ed allora, sono stato costretto, a forare il muro per sbucare nel locale della cucina. Ove ho predisposto il W2B800.

Da un amico idraulico ho fatto installare una cartuccia a filtro a maglia e con due flessibili da 3/4 sono passato dal foro praticato nel muro tramite una “tazza” dell’8.Preciso che l’addolcitore vi arriver con gli attacchi da 1 pollice, nel mio caso ho dovuto acquistare a perte le riduzioni da 3/$.
Per lo scarico ho predisposto una gomma del 20 sfruttando la tubazione predisposta per lo scarico della condensa della caldaia. Lo scarico del troppo pieno l’ho fatto uscire a cascata direttamente all’esterno. L’addolcitore in questione facile da montare e funziona benissimo e mi ha portato l’acqua a 0 gradi francesi in seguito, tramite la valvola di regolazione, aumentati a 5 Gradi F. Mi raccomando, non confondete il PPM con i gradi francesi. Per la misurazione dei gradi di durezza ho usato un TEST a gocce acquistabile anche su AMAZON. L’assistenza del venditore veloce e utile. Infine ho attivato la garanzia dei 7 anni sul loro portale Manuale ed info in Italiano ed ha disposizione anche i video per il corretto montaggio !! Spero di essere stato utile a qualcuno, direi che stata una bella esperienza a fare il lavoro indipendentemente, facendo in modo di risparmiare molto denaro !!
What can I say for this monster of the water softener is one of the best metered water softener available in the uk market to justify your needs. If you compare with other brands your search will be ends here. I would definitely recommended this softener if you have enough space in your home to store this monster unit. Or you can buy different models as per your requirements if you decided to put it under the sink.
I have research on so many water softeners but all are available to order based on quotation (top brands) depends on your location and water hardness in your area. I think its a bit waste of the time. But here w2b’s prices are very clear in terms of what you need and no fake quotations or time wasting exercise. I like the excellent customer service from w2b. All questions answered within minutes. (Thank you Steven for the help seting up the unit)
One thing I would like to mention that this unit is very heavy, robust and comes with industrial standard fittings 28mm. But i think most of the houses in the uk has 15mm and 22mm fittings. If seller include a choice in the order it will be best time saving option for the customers to decide which fittings they want 28mm, 22mm or 15mm. If your plumbing skill is good you can diy it or ask plumber to fit. Its 1-3 hours job depends on the location of the unit you wanted to fit. I think under the sink bit easy and less time consuming option but if you buy w2b800 its not possible to fit under the sink because of its size and weight.
Finally I would like to say after installing the unit you can feel the difference as soon as you start using the water.

Ich mchte vorab darauf hinweisen, das ich den Artikel wieder zurckgeschickt habe, da eine andere Anlage eingebaut wurde.
Das liegt nicht zuletzt an der Qualitt und an der Kompatibilitt.
Im Folgenden werde ich diverse wichtige Punkte aufzhlen die vor dem Kauf wichtig sind.
Wir haben uns nach vielen Vergleichen fr ein Produkt der Firma Grnbeck entschieden. “softliQ SC 18”.
1. Der Preis.
Mit einem Preis von um die 600 ist diese Anlage sehr gnstig. Da knnen kaum andere Produkte mithalten.
2. Die Qualitt:
Ist soweit ganz ok, allerdings kann ich natrlich nicht sagen, wie die Anlage auf lange Sicht luft und hlt.
Viel Plastik, was aber zur Funktionalitt nur bedingt negative Auswirklungen hat. Ist evtl. auch eine optische Sache und je nach Aufstellort auch komplett egal. 😉
3. Das Zubehr:
Laut Hersteller bentigt man zum Gert nur das Anschlussset (2 flexible Panzerschluche mit Zubehr) und kann dann das System anschlieen.
Dabei entstehen diverse Probleme. Zum einen sind die mitgelieferten Adapter zum Anschluss der Schluche leider zu gro. Man muss also hier Andere kaufen. Zudem sind Schluche und Adapter sehr billig hergestellt. Bei Wasser eher nicht so ganz clever…
4. Das Wasserverschneideventil:
Dieses Teil wird normalerweise in die Hauptleitung eingebaut. Man kann quasi zum entkalkten Wasser das Rohwasser so beimischen um den Hrtegrad einzustellen. Bei normalen Anlagen ist das Teil aus Guss- bzw. Vollmetall. Bei dieser Anlage ist das Verschneideventil im Gert integriert und zudem leider aus Kunststoff. Hier sehe ich in der Langzeithaltung ein Problem. Zudem hat man bei Ausfall oder Strung der Anlage das groe Problem das dann evtl. nur noch wenig Wasser einfach so genutzt werden kann.
Gefhlt eine nicht ganz so gut durchdachte Sache.
5. Bedienung und Aufbau:
Auch wenn nach meiner Auffassung die Installation vom Fachmann gemacht werden sollte, alleine schon wegen der Gewhrleistung im Bezug auf Wasserschden und Versicherungsleistung, so geht das Aufstellen auch so. Das Video im Internet ist recht aufschlussreich und sollte fr die Montage eine gute Hilfestellung sein. Im Video wird alles genau beschrieben. Die Bedienung ist ebenfalls einfach und ohne viele Kenntnisse machbar.
6. Zertifizierung:
In der Montageanleitung und auch auf dem Gert selbst sind etliche Zertifizierungen aufgefhrt und auf den ersten Blick vermuten lassen, das man hier ein oft geprftes und fr sehr gut befundenes Gert kauft. Wer etwas genauer hinschaut und zudem die Lage in Deutschland beurteilen kann wird schnell feststellen, das eine sehr wichtige Zertifizierung fehlt. Die Zertifizierung nach “DVBW” ist nicht dabei. Warum das so ist kann und will ich nicht beurteilen, sollte man aber wissen.
7. Lieferung und Service:
Hier muss ich ein sehr groes Kompliment aussprechen. Die Lieferung kam wie versprochen und wurde mehrmals angekndigt.
Man hat ein uneingeschrnktes 30 Tage Rckgaberecht vom dem ich demnach auf Gebrauch gemacht haben. Das Gert wurde ohne Probleme bei mir zuhause abgeholt!!! Zudem wurde die Erstattung des Kaufpreises schnell und ebenfalls unkompliziert erledigt. Versandkosten gibt’s keine! Der Kundenservice ist zwar der deutschen Sprache nur bedingt mchtig, gibt sich dafr aber um so mehr Mhe.
Da knnten sich einige Hersteller mal anschauen wie Service geht!
Fazit:
Auch wenn die Bauweise schon etwas billig ist, so verrichtet das Gert zuverlssig seine Arbeit. Wie das auf Dauer ist kann ich natrlich nicht beurteilen. Ist allerdings generell schlecht zu beurteilen. Fakt ist, dass der Hersteller 7 Jahre Garantie gibt. Achtung, Garantie, nicht Gewhrleistung. Ist auf jeden Fall ein sehr groer Pluspunkt. In wie weit die Garantie allerdings Sekundrschden abdeckt?
Auch hier wieder Achtung wer es selber macht!!!
Be aware that the connector fittings that are shipped with this unit are 1″ – as I found out when it arrived. If you have 22mm plumbing in place (like me), you should request that they be included instead – they are interchangeable.
We’ve got ours installed in a laundry closet, next to the washing machine. This is where the water main comes into the house, so it was easy to plumb the water softener in. We have everything in the house except the kitchen sink cold tap, the fridge water connection and the outside tap coming off the water softener.
Hair is softer, a lot less mess on the shower glass to clean off, and glassware gets spotlessly clean in the dishwasher now. Wish I’d bought one years ago – before the hard water semi-destroyed the washing machine. (It’s now full of grey soap scum, which keeps getting onto our clothes).
Pros:
* Slimline – only 225mm wide
* HUGE salt tank capacity. I reckon it will take 2-3 full bags of salt
* Takes just about any kind of salt – tablets, blocks, etc.
* Electronic metered – only regenerates at a set time of the day, AFTER the softening capacity has been used up
* High-flow (22mm) hoses are quite cheap at 16 quid. Some brands charge 60 quid for the same thing!
Cons:
* Have to buy some of the connection fittings separately – 22mm hoses, 22mm hose quick fit connectors
* Overflow hose wasn’t very long. Had to buy another piece
* Regen cycle is a little noisy. Can be mitigated by fitting the drain tube end as far into the waste trap as possible
* Can’t read the LCD display through the blue plastic lid, because the LED backlight only comes on when a button is pressed, or it’s regenerating
* No ‘low salt’ alarm. Have to remember to check it periodically
* No published figures for salt usage or water efficiency (the % of water that goes down the drain for each regen cycle).
Anfangs zu erwhnen, ist es sehr bemerkenswert, das dass Gert so schnell geliefert wird, da es ja aus Irland verschickt wird. Also ich hatte das Gert nach 4 Werktagen im Haus. Es ist weiters sehr gut verpackt. Ich habe mir sorgen gemacht, das der Salzbehlter beim Transport zusammengedrckt werden knnte – die Firma Water2buy hat dies aber hervorragend gelst und einfach einen aufblasbaren Polster im Innenraum des Behlters platziert.
Zum Gert selbst: Wie man am Preis erkennen kann, ist es “nur” Zeit gesteuert sprich einen Volumsgeber sucht man vergeblich. Ist aber kein Thema. Die Inbetriebnahme und Integration ins bestehende Wassersystem des Hauses stellt fr einen gebten Heimwerker sicher kein Problem dar. Die anschlieende Inbetriebnahme ist in der deutschen Anleitung gut erklrt und ist binnen 30 – 45 Minuten abgeschlossen. Mein Tipp: Bestellt euch zur Bestimmung des Hrtegrads gleich Teststreifen von Amazon. (Kosten rund 17 Euro fr 50 Streifen)
Das Gert arbeitet nun bereits einige Wochen und der Salzverbrauch ist trotz hohem Ausgangskalkgehalt vllig in Ordnung. Ich denke er pendelt sich bei rund 25kg pro Monat ein. Das Ergebnis ist nach Justierung des Einschneidventils ein Kalkgehalt von 6 Grad dH. Das Gert selbst enthrtet ja immer auf 0 Grad dH und man muss am Gert ber eine Einstellschaube unenthrtetes Wasser zurckspeisen um den gewnschten Wert zu erhalten. Dies ist brigens auch bei teuren Markenanlagen so der Fall! Wenn man das Wasser auf 0 Grad dH lsst, kann dies die Rohrinstallation besonders Metallrohre und die Armaturenoberflchen in Mitleidenschaft ziehen.
Summa Summarum bleibt mir nur zu sagen, das man um knapp 450 Euro wirklich eine vernnftige Anlage bekommt, die einfach und schnell zu installieren ist und danach zuverlssig arbeitet. Diese Anlage habe ich bei meinen Eltern montiert und falls meine alte Anlage zu ersetzten ist, werde ich dies sicher durch eine Water2buy erledigen!
Installation in the water system however needs some expert knowledge. As you can see in the picture, we moved the water filter (Rueckspuelfilter) into a position where it filters incoming water before entering the softening unit. Additionally, we decided to keep a second water pipe providing hard water for gardening, the swimming pool and such. Also, a syphon (Trichtersyphon) was installed for waste water and overflow. I had a hard look on the quality of the armored tubings as they hold up against full water pressure there. Do not tighten the armored tubings at the unit too much: Its plastic material loves it soft rather than brutal. Give it 20 more than hand tight.
All in all I can fully recommend this product. Its performing flawlessly and service is responding quickly. My only expectation is a better installation and operating manual. Yes, there are youtube videos, however clear instructions with better drawings would be fine. I could for example not find proper settings for our unit because all tables in the manual refer to “people in household” without stating their respective water consumption. We do however know exactly our water consumption, but reference is not given.
Zustzlich zur Enthrtungsanlage habe ich auch gleich das Anschluss-Set mit dazugekauft.
Der Klempner unseres Vertrauens hat die Anlage mit dem Anschluss-Set ohne Probleme innerhalb von einer dreiviertel Stunde einbauen knnen und auch ohne ordentliche Anleitung (leider habe ich versumt, die in anderen Rezensionen verlinkte Anleitung runterzuladen, aber er hats auch so geschafft) eingestellt auf ca. Hrtegrad 8.
Nach nur 24 Stunden ist uns aufgefallen: Das Wasser FHLT sich anders an. Beim Hndewaschen, beim Duschen, usw – es fhlt sich irgendwie weicher an.
Geschmacklich merkt man finde ich keinen groen Unterschied.
Was man aber definitiv merkt ist: Es kommt kein Kalk mehr aus der Leitung! In unserer sehr empfindlichen Sple sind keine Kalkflecken mehr, den Wasserkocher benutzen wir mit Wasser direkt aus dem Hahn, der Brita Filter ist eingemottet. Und obwohl der Wasserkocher aus Glas ist und man ALLES sieht – kein Kalk. Keine Reste. Nix.
Auch jetzt nach ca. 4 Wochen sind wir immer noch begeistert, und die Kalkflecken sind auch bisher nicht wiedergekehrt. Derzeit kommen wir noch mit dem ersten 25KG-Sack aus, haben aber schon einen in Reserve.
Alles in allem absolute Kaufempfehlung. Sehr preiswerte Lsung im Vergleich zu den Markengerten, laut Klempner leichter Einbau, und das Gert hlt was es versprocht!
Installation
The water softener was very easy to install and setup. The hardest part was the actual plumbing, though, having had plumbing experience, this wasn’t too bad. Luckily, having a largest kitchen, I was able to sacrifice the area under the sink, where the mains enters the house, for just the plumbing work (see image 1), and to put the softener in the cupboard to the right (see image 2). The two blue pipes are the incoming (bottom) and outgoing (top) to and from the softener. I advise anyone installing any water softener to do as I have done; add a bypass pipe. So in the event of having to remove/shut off the softener for any reason, you still have the ability to use water direct from the mains. Also, make sure that you don’t soften any water going to the outside tap, unless you like your car salty or soft plants 🙂 . As you can see, I’ve use pre-soldered yorkshire fittings rather speedfit fittings/pipes. Thats just a preference of mine. I know once its soldered, its soldered, its not going to give me any issues.
Setup
Once all connected, the softener took very little time to setup. I used some water hardness tablets to identify the hardness level of the water, and matched the settings I needed to enter against the table in the booklet. After a few hours or use, I tested the water again with a water hardness tablet, and it showed up as “soft” and in the desired range.
Use
I have been told by the wife that the cups of tea I make her now are “very smooth”. The kids and I used to get skin irritations (cracking skin on fingers), which I believed the hard water didn’t help. Since the softener has been installed, all of our skin irritations have gone. The shower cubicles, shower screens, bath and sinks are all staying cleaner longer, which means that we don’t have to use as many cleaning products.
Price
This is doing the same job as a family members water softener which they paid 1,100 for.
So, all in all very happy.

Die Anlage wurde amazontypisch pnktlich geliefert.
Die Verpackung der Anlage ist problematisch. In vielen Rezessionen steht, dass die Anlage beschdigt angeliefert wird. Bei uns hatte die Haube einen kleinen Riss.
An den Hersteller: Mit einem einfachen Kantenschutz an der Kartonverpackung wrden die Bnder nicht mehr in den Karton einreien und das Problem wre gelst. Daher nur 4. statt 5 Punkte.
Auspacken ist auch ganz einfach, wenn man oben von unten unterscheiden kann.
Abwasserschlauch verlegt, dann einfach nach beiliegender Anleitung anschlieen, Salz und Wasser rein, Strom an und los gehts.
Die Dichtungen an den Hauptanschlssen sind direkt nach der Montage natrlich nicht ganz dicht. Das sind bei mir “Papierdichtungen”, die quellen erst noch etwas durch die Leckage auf und sind dann aber komplett dicht. Also nicht versuchen die Kunststoffanschlsse mit roher Gewalt festzuziehen.
Die einmalige Programmierung kriegt man mit ein wenig Mitdenken auch hin.
Die Anlage verbraucht bei uns (4 Personen mit wirklich hohem Wasserverbrauch) weniger als 25kg Salz pro Monat.
Jetzt schauen wir mal, wie lange die hlt. Rechenbeispiel: Sollte eine von den tollen Anlagen aus dem Fachhandel fr 3000 Euro 20 Jahre halten (nach 10 jahren technisch bereits veraltet), dann kann ich mir rechnerisch ca. alle 3 Jahre die neueste Water2buy zulegen, und habe immer eine neue Anlage.
Nebenbei; der Kalkschleier der auf den dunklen Fliesen ist Geschichte.
Zusammengefasst: Tolles Ge
Il funzionamento preciso, puntuale ed efficace, importante comunque determinare con esattezza il valore di durezza dell’acqua di rete al fine di impostare il valore corretto di rigenerazione, per quanto mi riguarda ne sono estremamente soddisfatto, soprattutto in relazione al costo sostenuto.
Consiglio vivamente di installare a monte un filtro antisabbia a rete sottile, se ne trovano diversi anche su amazon al costo di 20/30 euro e svolgono il loro lavoro egregiamente.
Where we live the water is very hard. After a short period of operation the water was delightfully softened, with good lather properties. All the bathroom fittings are now shining bright and all surfaces silky smooth, easily wiped clean.
The kitchen kettle now has no hard water deposits nor loose lime scale.
A worthwhile purchase.
1. The instruction book for the AS200 contradicts the info on the video. The video is more up-to-date, so ditch the book and follow the on-line instructions. I placed my laptop on the kitchen floor, followed each instruction and paused the video until I was ready to move on to the next set up instruction.
2. The stainless steel braided hoses are not supplied with the water softner; you have to purchase them separately. Check on delivery that they have sent you the correct fitting, as I was supplied with an incorrect size to start with.
3. Don’t expect a return telephone call from this company; it seems that they have several staff but only one engineer who can talk you thru any issues / questions you have and getting hold of him is almost impossible. When they finally come back to you, they are charming but this can take days, rather than hours for a return call.
4. They don’t offer a fitting service so you either fit it yourself, or get a plumber to do so, hence the price you’re paying.
5. The blue plastic lid is very flimsy and according to several reviews, often gets damaged during delivery; I’ve just left the top off mine.
On the plus side:-
1. Very fast delivery (three days).
2. The price (down from 500, to 289) is the best in the market place for this size model.
3. When I finally managed to get everything set up and working, the water hardness test confirmed that my water had gone from ‘very hard – almost 1000ppm’ to ‘soft -0ppm’ in less than 48 hours, which is pretty impressive.
I’ll now monitor the salt usage and the water quality over the next few months, but after a frustrating start, I can now say I’m pleased I purchased this from Water2Buy. With just some very minor tweaks (such as a label on the front of the instruction book saying refer to the video rather than the booklet, and an a4 laminated COLOUR print-out showing all the machine parts labelled up for ease of identification), and some customer service improvements for call backs (which are guaranteed to wind up a customer if they’re not forthcoming !), they could easily do a lot more business !

Auch am Geschmack merke ich keinen Unterschied zu vorher.
Was das Regenerieren betrifft, so ist in unserem Haus (2 Personen) eine Kapazitt von 7t = 7 m3 Wasser optimal (in den Einstellungen anpassbar beim Steuergert). Damit kommen wir ca. 2 Monate lang aus, bevor wieder regeneriert wird.
Habe auch bereits jetzt schon manuell regeneriert, obwohl es nicht ntig gewesen wre, wollte wissen, ob alles dicht ist, denn beim Regenerieren wird mit hohem Druck gesplt und wenn das um 3 Uhr nachts passiert und ein Leck wre, das wre nicht gut.
Was die Integration ins Leitungssystem betrifft: unbedingt einen Montageblock samt 2 mal 1m Schluchen hier bei amazon mitbestellen, da ist meist auch ein Mess Set zum Bestimmen der Wasserhrte mit dabei. Wer es sich zutraut, kann es selber einbauen ins Leitungssystem, ich hab das lieber dem Installateur vor Ort fr 100 berlassen, Rohre und Gewinde schneiden ist nicht jedermanns Sache und es soll danach ja auch alles wieder dicht sein. Und der Installateur Profi hat 3h gebraucht, wer weiss wie lange ich da dran gehngt wre…
Thema Gebrauchsanleitung Wasserenthrter: wie schon oft hier bemngelt, die mitgelieferte Anleitung ist fr den Ofen, holt euch vom Hersteller online die neueste Version und alles passt.
Man kann sagen, dass die Verarbeitung nicht auf hchstem Niveau ist. Die Ventile, der Deckel des Salzbehlters und der Deckel der Enthrtungsanlage sind alle aus Kunststoff. Die beiden Deckel sind nicht passgenau, also man kann sich nicht aufsetzen und sie halten perfekt. Was vermutlich dem gnstigen Preis geschuldet ist.
Das Anschlieen hat gut und einfach funktioniert. Die Anleitung ist etwas drftig was die einzelnen Parameter des Steuerventils betrifft, bzw. gibt es Online andere Werte, als die im Handbuch. Im Internet findet sich auch eine bessere Anleitung zum Steuerventil.
Das Einstellen der Wasserhrte war etwas knifflig und hat ein paar Tage gedauert, da immer 0 dH rausgekommen sind. Da ich aber gelesen habe, dass das nicht gut fr die Leitungsrohre ist, wollte ich zwischen 5 und 8 dH. Ich musste das Mischventil fast ganz zudrehen, damit nicht 0 sondern 6 dH rauskommen.
Die Lieferung war in Ordnung, nur der Deckel war kaputt und hatte ein Loch. Wir haben das Water2buy mitgeteilt und Sie haben uns einen neuen Deckel zugeschickt, der nach wenigen Tagen ankam.
Nun funktioniert die Anlage seit ca. 2 Monaten und macht keine Probleme. Zum Salzverbrauch kann ich keine Aussage machen, da die Kapazitt bei uns recht hoch eingestellt ist und deshalb nur selten regeneriert wird.
Also kann man bei dieser Enthrtungsanlage auf jeden Fall zugreifen. Vor allem wenn man bedenkt, dass man fr eine Anlage vom rtlichen Sanitrtechniker mehrere Tausende Euro zahlen muss.
The fittings at the rear are 1″, my pipes are 22mm so I needed to get some screw-on fittings to fit the 1″ thread and with 22mm compression to fit my pipework, called a female coupler, Screwfix had what I needed. You can’t solder these as the plastic will melt if you do. The rest of my plumbing was soldered before the final connection to the softener after doing a dry run fitting of all the parts to be soldered. You could use flexi pipe, but I have had these fail after a period of time and I prefer to use copper and solder which seldom fails. To make a water tight connection you need to use plenty of PTFE tape around the thread of the screw on fittings at the back of the softener, wrap it around the thread and build it up to a wedge shape lots of turns are required. When you screw on the female coupler fitting it should make the PTFE squash up to form a nice washer between the plastic fitting on the AS800 and the female coupler, aim for about 2 to 3 mm wedge once done up fairly tight.
I used standard hose pipe to connect the drain and overflow separately. You should add pipe clips to ensure these do not become detached. Check the distance that you need to run these pipes over as longer runs may need larger diameter pipe than standard hose pipe.
When you have got the pipes in place you will want to test the connections are good, I would not put salt in yet as if you need to move it, it will be very heavy with salt in it. Once you are happy with the connections in bypass mode ‘two red taps at back of softener aligned across the pipes’ this allows you to bypass the softener if something goes wrong, and still have water although hard water. Turning the taps so the red tops align along the pipes allows water to enter and leave the AS800 softener chamber. I again would only put a minimum amount of salt in the unit just in case there is a problem, if you need to remove it for any reason you would have to dig the salt out, no fun at all.
The power for the AS800 is from a plug top unit that has a low voltage (12V) output, you will need a socket fairly close by as the lead is not very long from the power supply to the AS800. There is a flying socket on the AS800 that accepts the low voltage plug on the 12V plug top mains adaptor.
There is a mixing valve on the AS800 to the left and below the main head of the control assembly this needs to be gently turned anti -clockwise to its full travel to get soft water.
Get the latest setup data for the softener from the web site of water2buy as the setup in the supplied manual is out of date, also don’t do the load default in the setup menu as these are out of date also. You can get your water hardness from your local water authority web site. You will need that for an accurate setup.
If you want to run a manual generation of the unit and you may want to do this to check you drain line connection is good. There are two things you need to do, first is set in the menu of the unit the Meter to ‘Immediate’ the second is set the REG.Cap to 00.01 this will trigger a manual regeneration. You won’t find this in the manual! It’s very important you get the rest of the settings correct in the menu first. I found the setting on their web site to be very different from what the unit was set to, so do this once you have the unit powered up. If you do this don’t forget to set the REG.Cap back to your correct setting for your water and usage.
Performance
The unit is producing great softened water for me and I am very happy that it works so well. I managed to get two 25kg bags of salt into the unit making it excellent for those, like me, who don’t want to be adding salt frequently.
I have to say that the menu system takes some getting use-to and may confuse at first, however once you have gone through the menu a couple of times it becomes clear. Mostly you won’t need to do this unless the power is off for long enough for it to forget the settings you have made. It may be worth making a note of your settings and leaving it nearby just in case.
The dial on the front is in fact an indication of the position of the multi-way valve that directs the water according to what being done by the control software. Most all of the time this is in the SERV position and it only moves during regeneration. The motor that drives this is quiet, but the water flowing does make some noise when regenerating, how much noise will depend on your mains pressure at the time. The unit is quiet when softening water or idle so that is great. I have no flow issues and we are spread over 3 floors and have 3 bathrooms, utility and kitchen.
I have not supplied softened water to my kitchen drinking tap, fridge water dispenser and garden tap for obvious reasons.
There are some settings in the menu that remain unexplained, but it is useful to know that the Meter setting of both ‘Immediate’ and ‘Delayed’ refers to when the unit will regenerate once it has counted through enough water to require re-generation. Set to ‘delayed’ it will wait until the set time in the menu and if set to immediate it will start re-generating right away which may be inconvenient. When the unit is re-generating you can still get water passing through, but it is not being softened during re-generation process.
The display shows the count-down to re-generation as you use water, this changes slowly over time as this unit has a very good capacity and re-generates infrequently depending on use.
My only criticism of the unit is the display and user interface is not the best, however it works so I don’t have a problem with it.
Overall I like the unit, it’s reasonably priced, does what I want to do and it does that well. I cannot comment on long term performance as I only had it working for a few weeks.
Update after two years operation:
I originally gave this unit 4 stars but have upped it to 5 stars. Why? Well, it has worked 100% since I installed it and has no faults. The plastic case, pipes, valves etc all look as good as the day I installed it. No leaks, no cracks no problems. I originally marked it down due to a few minor things, one of which was a few problems with the manual but since reading my review W2B have updated the manual. I also marked it down due to the position of a waste pipe but in actual fact this has not presented any problems after 2 years of use.
I have tested the effectiveness of the unit with water test strips and it works as it should.
Just to be clear, I paid the Amazon price for this unit and have received no discounts or gifts for this review. I like it when technology works without any fuss and this is a good example. I just add salt and that’s it. Well done W2B.

We live in an old house in a very hard water area and I wanted soft water to at least feed the boiler and the washing machine. I wasn’t too worried about soft water to the toilets, hand basins, outside taps etc but due to the quirky pipe route into the house I had to compromise and leave the cold water to the bathrooms unsoftened. The only practical place to install was in the utility room at the rear of the house.
I looked at several different water softeners and opted for water 2 buy based on size, price and amazon reviews. I haven’t had much experience of plumbing and have no previous with water softeners and so this review can not compare to other devices. I decided to write a review because of the letter from water2buy requesting me to do so with the obvious bribe of a small packed of haribo sweets.
The unit was delivered very quickly and was well packed. I didn’t buy plumbing items and decided to work out what I need once it arrived and to buy from screwfix. I normally find that I buy several things that I don’t need and omit many that I do, and being able to get that all important widget on a Sunday morning is worth going local for. I did buy a water hardness testing kit (strips) to test the water at my house, this wasn’t from water2buy.
Anyway, I read the instructions (which were supplied in several languages) and reread several times. I tested the water supply for hardness and found it to be very very high. The strip went very dark brown within 2 seconds which is the top of the scale, this seems a bit too hard I thought and so I looked up the hardness on south west water web site. The showed the hardness at a much more sensible level, still hard but not Vinnie Jones hard. So, don’t trust the testing kit. I imagine that south west water probably use more than a testing kit from Amazon and I would believe them over a home kit. Anyway, helpful for testing the water post softener, more later… BTW, the scale for hardness is PPM in the water2buy (W2B) brochure and the south west water web site quotes several different units but none are PPM. However, searching on the internet showed PPM to be the same as CACO3. It would have been helpful if the manual had noted this and I expect W2B know this useful nugget.
Once the unit arrived, I worked out the materials for the install which included copper push joints Ts, couplers, washing machine outlet, copper pipe, flexi hoses, clips, stop taps, garden hose, waste pipe and extra U bend, jubilee clips (requirement discovered later), washing machine drain hose x2, coffee. I also purchased a small pipe cutter, pipe bender and push joint decoupler tool (needed this!). I used my existing tools which included cordless drill, screwdrivers, wire wool, grips, SDS drill with big bit (to drill through a 14″ brick and flint wall).
Work started on 6 nations final weekend, a bad weekend to start and not much got done. However, a very exciting end to the 6 nations and much better than plumbing. The following weekend was better (from a plumbing perspective but still some time until the World Cup) and I got almost to completion but with all jobs like this I don’t like to rush the end as once the main cold water pipes are cut there is no going back. It’s good to aim the finish to be on a Saturday lunch time as there is still Saturday PM and Sunday to cope with leaks, missing bits, faults, trips to A&E etc.
Anyway, back to the install…
The pipe install generally went well. Quite a bit of bending of pipe which was fun, do watch examples on youtube… my first attempt had a puckered inside radius. And don’t use the end of the copper pipe you buy, it will likely be slightly deformed and the push joints don’t like it… mine was and they didn’t, glad I bought the decoupler tool.
Once all the plumbing was done (see the picture) I connected the softener to the water supply and the drain feed to the waste water and the overflow to a hose to the outside (copper pipe through the wall though). I needed the jubilee clips now and didn’t have any and so I rummaged in the garage to find some. This made me think that it would have been helpful if W2B included a typical shopping list in the instructions.
It also became evident that the waste water (wash) outlet fouls the lid of the softener and so the lid doesn’t sit properly… come on W2B, its not rocket science is it! If you look at the close up picture you can just see the angle of the waste pipe. I also noticed at this point that I couldn’t read the illuminated panel or the rotating dial due to the position next to the freezer (this always happens at this point doesn’t it). Not the fault of the unit as I think it must be designed to fit lengthways under a sink and not sideways next to a freezer. I used my mobile phone camera at a angle to read the display while setting up… better than a mirror as its the right way around.
The set up instructions were OKish… I must have slightly different firmware in mine compared to the instructions as some of the options were different. I don’t seem to get the option to change the date but the instructions suggest that I should. Aside from this all went OK but I was a bit confused with the big dial thing, I couldn’t read the legends ( I know… sited sideways and not lengthways) but turned it to see what would happen… sudden gushing of water… quickly turned it all the way around and read the manual again… seems like a manual wash control. Anyway, reset back to start all all seemed OK.
The pictures in the manual weren’t great, it would help to have photos and more of them. The manual provided instructions to assemble certain parts which were already assembled on my unit., Not sure why but a bit confusing.
I ran the water for a while and then got out another strip tester and would you believe it the water was now soft rather than Vinnie Jones hard. Job done.
Its been working away for 4 days now and all seems OK. I don’t know how much salt it uses but as its a metered unit and only feeds hot water and washing machine I would hope it is not too bad. The manual contains a table to correlate the settings to the hardness and the number of people in the house. There are 4 in our house but as the softener is only doing hot water and washing machine I decided to use 3 people on the table to correlate the settings.
Overall I give it 4 starts. The negatives being the accuracy of the manual/instructions, poor pictures in the manual, the angle of the outlet meaning that the lid doesn’t fit properly and the firmware being different to the manual. On the plus side the unit appears well made, the instructions were clearly written by someone who speaks english (not sure about the other languages), delivery speed and free haribos.

These were my findings and others may not have the same experiences.
Firstly the top cover is very flimsy and was cracked in 2 places on arrival. I figured that this was not really an issue as it would be unseen and as it turned out I had to cut the back off of it to get it to fit where I sited the box. Not a great first impression but as I say it does not effect its operation.
Connections – I think most people if they are replacing a softener will have 22m washing machine hose type connectors. The unit came with 15 mm connectors and new ones were sent out but it took a week which was rather inconvenient. A tip, the two quick release connectors need to be pushed very firmly into their holes before securing with the safety clips. I didn’t have them in far enough to begin with but once in its a very secure fitting.
Settings – I initially set the machine up with the settings as described in the printed instructions. I was then led astray by watching the video on the suppliers site which had a very differing set of settings. This was complicated further by a google on AS200 which showed another video for this exact same model with another completely different set of figures. An email from Steve confirmed the printed document should be followed.
Primarily to test my plumbing I wanted to do a manual cycle through. The manual suggests that either just setting the machine to meter immediate or moving the switch to the backwash position will achieve this. It will not and putting it in backwash will just leave it there for good. Steve advised …to do a manual wash out you need to do is Change meter delayed to meter immediately Change the REG.CAP to 00.01 Then run about 1 to 2 litres out your cold or hot tap.
One final point, it does not mention is that block salt is ok to use with this and I find that much the easiest to use.
Over all a very good product just let down with a few things that are pretty easy to fix up going forward. I would still highly recommend this product.
As this machine is metered, it only regenerates when it needs to (not every night at a specified time irrespective of use) so if your household goes from 2 people to 10 people and back to 2 again as you are invaded by family for Christmas who then depart in the new year, then the machine increases or decreases its regeneration according to need.
Unless you have tried softened water, I can’t explain it, it is not possible to describe the difference, other than to say once you have experienced really soft water, you will never want to go back to water that is not softened. (It also has the added advantage of not leaving a deposit on the taps, sink etc.. and if it is like that on the outside of the pipes, the insides of the pipes must have previously been equally as deposit clogged; over time, this will be removed.
I previously had one of those machines that uses salt blocks, good though it was, the price difference for this machine is substantial; this is literally a quarter of the price, for a machine that does the same job, equally as well without the need to purchase specialist salt.
To say that “I love this” as indicated by the stars is possibly exaggeration, it’s a water softener; as functional household kit I will never “love” it; however it is a very good water softener at an outstanding price; I recommend it to my friends, colleagues and family; there is no stronger advocate.
This I overcame by turning manually through each stage, this was following the `User Guide`menu, in which details wildly differing between Guide, PDF & Tv video.IE; Rinse in Guide = 1min. PDF = 4 MIN. Video =15 min. Other info was similar.
I do hope that the service from the softener is comparable to my previous three softener units over 40 years?
Three stars due to the delays in the clarification information.Some delays could be attributable to their use of an international number which my telephone rejects,as well as withheld. Subsequent frustrations are. Steven, thank you for the bag of salt & the test strips received today. When I tested the water from the mains it read 250 ppm or 15. The softened water was the same 250 ppm or 15.(still hard).
The regeneration was currently set to 0.96 for 4 persons. This as per manual. As there are only 2 persons in our house I thought this to be an extra margin to consume.
It had been 18 days since the last regeneration, this perhaps it is not sufficient? If this was set to regenerate as a 340 ppm at 0.72 three persons, this should then regenerate more frequently. Do you agree this is a possible solution to the problem of not providing softened water.
To date water2buy has not responded to my query. I feel that the problems are related mainly to the variation between the Manual, the PDF & the Video on fitting the softener.
This resulting in overloading the inquiry line at water2buy. When a response is obtained it is exemplary.
The revised settings , on this trial & error with the PDF files have achieved `softened water 0 ppm.`Now give 4 stars. despite the frustrations.
Does what it says on the tin.
Installation of the water supply took about an hour, just cutting out a section of water pipe and fitting a couple of Speedfit elbows. The waste pipe (like any water softener) mustn’t be sited where there can be any backflow of waste/sewage but that wasn’t a problem, so long as there is an air gap between the outlet of the unit’s waste pipe and the drain. Running a power supply wasn’t difficult, especially as the unit only draws minimum power.
No experience yet of the long term efficiency of the AS200 but nothing to suggest that there will be anything to criticise; would certainly purchase the unit again, so far. Will update review in a few months once the water softener has been in use for a while.
ADDENDUM: not related to the water softener directly but to the effectiveness of its use – I drained down the hot water cylinder and completely de-scaled it prior to installing the water softener as there’s not much point installing an efficient water softener if its softened product then sits in a tank half full of limescale and the benefit is lost. TIP…..getting the limescale out (we’re in a very hard water area) can be a pain as de-scaling solutions only remove half their weight of limescale (we had over 10kg of limescale in the tank !). I worked out the answer by draining the tank and then putting the nozzle of a wet-and-dry vacuum cleaner through the immersion heater opening and sucking out all of the limescale, which can take a long time but is cheaper and easier than paying 250+ for a new tank (plus the labour cost).
