Replaced 2 other 4K cables with this one. It was expensive and I had doubts that spending this much on a cable would be with it.

Well, happy to say yes it was worth it. I don’t have 8k source or TV yet but the problems we had previously are gone.

We were seeing dropouts of the signal periodically especially trying to use HDR. Arc wasn’t working either. The old cables are also likely the cause of a board failure in the TV last year. All that copper in the wall acts like an antenna or lightning rod, to the TV flickered when we turned On certain appliances nearby.

The new cable seems to have addressed all these issues. H to one will tell on some items, but the picture is clearer than ever, HDR is solid and no drop when appliances turn on.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersAn amendment to my earlier review, I bought the 50ft cable and had no issues. Could be the cable was bad or that extra 15ft made the difference, either way I’ll bump back up to 4 stars because I have had no issues with the 50ft version at 4k 120hz HDR.

Saw the rave reviews and picked up the GEN3B 65ft version to pair my 3090 with my LG CX TV. This cable was able to display the picture but got endless stuttering and hiccups, basically unusable.

After a lot of research, THIS is the cable to use for connecting an RTX 3080 to an LG OLED in full 4K 120hz HDR over a distance. Works perfectly, feels high-end and surprisingly fast delivery considering it ships from China (3 days).

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI was initially apprehensive about buying this cable, as HDMI 2.1 Ultra High Speed Cable spec does not call out 5 meter lengths. I’m so glad I made the jump. Ran the cable from a Xbox Series X to a LG B9, both latest firmware and setup up initially at 4K/60Hz/8Bit . Went into settings and changed 1st to 120Hz & 2nd 10Bit. I also disabled “Allow 4:2:2”. Don’t know if order was necessary, but setup worked like a champ. Cable is rated for 48Gbps and my settings are pushing at 40.1Gps (4K/120HZ/10BIT), which is the current limit for the HDMI on the Series X and the B9/C9 & BX/CX. Everything ran for 4hrs straight with no glitches.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersConnecting a ceiling mounted Optoma UHD51A to a PS5
Unfortunately I was not able to connect, although I don’t think it was the cable’s fault.

I managed to get a full 4K HDR picture but for some reason coming back the next day the cable stops working. I suspect that the usb power boost doesn’t work correctly when plugged into the optoma and fails to sync the image correctly

This means you have to keep booting the ps5 in safe mode (and sometimes even this won’t work)

Contacted customer service and got a replacement cable for free. This one worked a little better but eventually the same problem started occurring.

Customer service was beyond excellent and I feel bad for having returned the cable and getting a refund after all the effort they put in place to sort my problems.

    Five stars for their support.

I bought this cable in an attempt to resolve an issue I was having with a new AV setup involving Apple TV4K and an AV Receiver. The 10m 4K HDMI cable I was using from quite a big well known high end cable company seemed to dislike it when I enabled the higher chroma settings on the Apple TV and was dropping the picture with some higher frame rate 4K Content. I decided to try the Ruipro (GEN3 version) as although I don’t need 8K support I thought it might help, and it has done the trick. I am now able to run the higher chroma settings etc from Apple TV with no issues. Cable seems well made and is much smaller and flexible than some of the more chunky HDMI cables. Very pleased so far. Please note I ordered through Amazon but went for delivery from Ruipro to ensure I got the latest Gen 3 cable.

Despite what some of the reviews say, RUIPRO are now shipping Gen 3 versions of this cable, and it works flawlessly – 4K 120, HDR, VRR, RGB 444, 12 bit color. I’m running this with a LG C9 and RTX 3080. I repeat, EVERYTHING WORKS and you’ll be receiving a GEN 3 cable or better when you do. Some of their older versions shipped did have problems, hence the negative comments saying C9/3080 combo doesn’t work. The VALUE FOR MONEY piece obviously is not great, hence why I removed some stars there. I get that this tech is new and getting HDMI 2.1 to work properly in a long cable length is not the easiest thing.

Bought this cable for my PS4, and I noticed an immediate improvement in both contrast, and brightness quality. Before buying this cable my PS4 picture quality was always dark, no matter what settings I tried on my Panasonic 4K tv. Picture also looked sharper. Now using it on my new PS5 console, and delighted with picture quality. This cable is well made, great value, and I would have no hesitation buying it again, and recommending it to others.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersMy A/V Amp a Denon sits at the back of our lounge while the TV a LG Oled is at the front . So I needed at least a 20m cable. Initially I purchased another fibre optic cable and I will not reveal the make to save the manufacturer from criticism . Every so often I got a grey screen so it was returned and when the refund was made. I then done a thorough research and then decided to purchase this RUIPRO 8K 20m HDMI 2.1 Cable . I firstly gave it a trial run for a few days before installing it in its permanent loop. The picture quality of this cable is absolutely stunning. I know it is expensive but having said that. It is also future proof as far as when the 8k TV ‘s come on stream . So as far as I am concerned ,it is a investment . Very happy with this cable and I would like to fully recommend it .

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersUpdate: I wasnt able to get in touch through customer support but I replied to their autmated e-mail from Amazon and they informed me this was an issue with the initial run of cables. They have since sent me an updated one and its been working great for over a week not. The updated cable has red and green writing on the connectors. If you get one with grey writing its the old defective one.

Same issue as others on here. 4k at 120hz cuts out constantly. I assume its a bandwidth issue since the short cable that came with my Xbox works just fine.

Got a handful of these for future proofing. Unfortunately the only HDMI 2.1 capable device I have is my TV which is an LG W9 OLED. Using these cables to connect my Ultra HD Blu Ray Player (Panasonic UB9000) and PS4 – all works fine. So at least HDMI 2.0 to HDMI 2.1 is working absolutely fine. I am able to receive HDR/Dolby Vision and 4k/60 without problems.

I will be able to test the HDMI 2.1 capabilities of this cable when the PS5 arrives next week. I will update this review then with my findings.

Golden Review Award: 18 From Our UsersI’ve bought 2 of these now and they’re bar none the best HDMI I’ve found for my purpose. I am running a C9 OLED and my equipment is on the other side of the room which requires about a 35′ HDMI run. NONE of the copper HDMIs worked for 4k/60hz over the length that I needed but this fiber HDMI cable works flawlessly. The best I could get out of a copper HDMI was 4k/30hz SDR or 1080p/60hz HDR10. I am able to run 4k/120hz Dolby Vision (12bit) and 4:4:4 HDR10+ (10bit) with zero hiccups. I have not tested its 8k/60hz claim because I do not have a 8k TV. The cost is higher than I would like but, as they say, you have to pay to play and unless this cable goes bad I shouldn’t have to upgrade for quite some time. I would see a solid value proposition at the $125 mark or so for a 40′ cable of this quality but that being said, the other options (Monoprice, BI FALE, etc.) are even more expensive than the RUIPRO. Would I buy it again? Yep.

Golden Review Award: 30 From Our UsersMy Sony A9G is across big the room from my Denon AVR X8500H receiver, DirectV Genie and 4K Apple TV. A 40′ cable is required to reach. I tried a Sewell Light Link Pro first. It never worked reliably with the AppleTV set to DolbyVision, whether connected directly to the AppleTV or routed through the Denon. The AppleTV HDMI test reported problems with the connection. During use, the picture would flash on and off, sometimes rapidly, sometimes only occasionally. I returned it.

Next I tried a Monoprice 8K cable. It worked well though the Denon but wasn’t reliable when connected to the AppleTV. I killed this cable while outing it around the walls. Not sure how but it was likely my fault, so I had to eat its $180 cost.

Next I tried a very expensive ($400+) Celerity Tek UFO cable. It didn’t work at all. Perhaps it was just a bad unit. Returned it.

Finally I tried the RUIPRO. It works great from the AppleTV, the Denon and later a DirectV Genie. No flashing picture. No problem. Very happy to find a solution and this cable is great.

I was pulling my hair out trying to get my Epson Home Cinema 3200 4K, Denon Avr S750H Receiver and Apple 4K to work via a 25foot Monoprice 4K cable. To put it lightly I was going insane and pulling my hair out as to why I could not get a proper picture, no picture at all, just total darkness and confusion. It worked if I just plugged the hdmi cable from the apple tv to the projector directly, but no audio obviously. So I read the Denon manual, and it said for long runs you must use an HDMI fiber optic cable or a Cat5/6 Balun. It also said to use the HDMI port closets to the output port. This is where I was led to amazon and this product. I could not believe the high price tag, but if it did the trick I would regain my sanity. I spent days troubleshooting every possible setup and scenario with little success. I bought this cable on Thursday April 23, 2020 during this pandemic and received it early Saturday morning. I immediately opened it and did a dry run from my Denon receiver to the Epson Projector. It worked right away to go from 720P to 1080P. I then tried 4k and it failed on the first try, got a little nervous. But I restarted the Apple 4K and it went into 4k SDR on its own. I then tried 4K HDR, and it worked. Issue resolved. I then fished the cable through my my 1″ conduit (thank god I did that) and tested again and it worked out again with no issues. Thank you, thank you, thank you, you have restored my sanity. This cable is the real deal and works as advertised. I know there were other fiber hdmi cables on amazon for a much cheaper price. But I decided I wanted no more issues or down the road problems. This cable will solve your issue if your run is long. I ordered the 33 foot cable, even though I only needed a 25 foot one.

Have a new projector. Get new one each 4 years, and now the performance can be 4K if streaming etc, so must have decent low loss cable. They are not cheap, but essential if want best picture quality.
Have a long run across roof, and down wall, and then to cabinet, so had to go for something decent…………

Is about the best quality long distance operational HDMI can get.
Have a new projector. Get new one each 4 years, and now the performance can be 4K if streaming etc, so must have decent low loss cable. They are not cheap, but essential if want best picture quality.
Have a long run across roof, and down wall, and then to cabinet, so had to go for something decent…………

I need a 7m run from my AV Receiver to my TV and regular High-Speed HDMI cables just weren’t cutting it. I kept getting picture and sound dropouts when using the 4K Bluray player and Xbox One X and I tried quite a few different cables. This 10m Fibre HDMI cable solved all that. Is it worth the 87 I paid for it during Black Friday? Absolutely not, no HDMI cable is worth that sort of money but it solved my issues so I’m happy enough. Because it’s so expensive I can’t rate it with 5 stars though.

his is not the first cable of this length (10m) I have ordered for my 4k bluray to projector, but it is the first to provide connection as one would expect. this cable is quite pricey, but is doing the job very well. came fast (overnight), quality seems good. smaller diameter cable made it easy to feed through ceiling channels for hidden routing and was very flexible. so far this cable has been great though only a week old and only a few movies in.

These cables are recommended for watching UHD 4k at 60fps if you need a cable over 7 or 8m.

I was struggling to to get 4K content to my projector (require at least 35′ cable). I tried a number of high quality/expensive HDMI cables with no success … signal will cut out after few minutes. I’ve been using this cable for over a year not with 100% success. … have not encountered a single signal issue.

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersBought this to connect a 4K projector to a AV receiver in another room. Had to route the cable through the ceiling, round some bends and through a tight conduit. Its a 8m or so run and so used the 10m cable. My previous ICE 10m HDMI cable could not handle 4K HDR over this run but this one works flawlessly for 4K and HDR, tested using various sources. So far its been great and its price was competitive compared to similar products. They have now given it a lifetime warranty so there is peace of mind too.

I am using this from my Denon AVR to an Optoma uhd 51A. I have run this up my wall, in my ceiling to the projector and it is working great. I expected it to display 4k @60 Hz and HDR (which presumably is 18 Gpbs) and according to the information display it is doing exactly that. I am very pleased with this HDMI. I also ran another generic hdmi cable same length to test and compare. The generic cable would not display, but the Ruipro worked flawlessly. I only wish at that price that the cable could handle 8k for future proofing. That said I do not know that it can or cannot handle 8k.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersAfter buying 2 wire HDMI cables of high quality that could not carry Dolby Vision from Apple TV 4K @ 25′ and 30′, this 33′ cable finally SEEMS to do the job. At first there were times when the Dolby Vision signal would drop and the screen would black out every 15 or so minutes and at times the screen would black out 2 or 3 times in a row. This occurred for the first 2 days. (It did not occur under the HDR10 60 Hz setting.) However after I unplugged it and replugged it after trying a second optic cable, it now is transmitting without black screens at all. It might not have been a cable issue but I can’t say for sure. The Apple TV 4K HDMI cable test has verified its ability to carry Dolby Vision. It is well made with a thin flexible cable and substantial heavy plugs.

UPDATE: I continued to have dropped signals with black screen under Dolby Vision. The Apple 4K HDMI cable test continued to approve it for Dolby Vision. Bypassing my AV receiver (ONKYO TX-NR686) with a direct connection from the Apple TV 4K with the cable to the TV (LG OLED B8) allowed the cable to work perfectly with a stable signal in Dolby Vision. So, the passing of the signal through the receiver definitely degraded the signal or had a hardware issue that prevented the highest level of video signal. After almost giving up, I finally got a stable Dolby Vision signal with no dropped signal: I turned off HDMI ARC and HDMI CEC (at both the TV and the receiver) and made sure I didn’t connect to any HDMI that had ARC capability. AND I updated my Onyko receiver with a recent new firmware update. It’s perfect now.

Have a setup where my TV is on the wall upstairs and my receiver is in my attic to control ceiling speakers – had purchased an Amazon Basics 25′ HDMI cable to use ARC but every couple minutes the audio would drop out for 1-2 seconds. It was really annoying – read a ton of reviews, and bought this cable since someone in a forum recommended fiber HDMI. Didn’t even realize this was a thing – I was hesitant because the cable is like the price of ten cheaper cables, and because I had to buy a 30′ to reach since 20′ wouldn’t and that feels like it’s asking a lot from HDMI.

Long story short, it works as expected. I can’t say if I notice the audio quality being any better or anything, but it doesn’t drop at all – perfect continuous signal. Also not running any video through it so I can’t speak to that.

Giving 4 stars because even though it solved a huge issue for me, the price is ridiculous. It’s a freakin cable guys.. The $20 Amazon Basics HDMI cable should have worked… shouldn’t have had to resort to spending $160 on a cable.

Golden Review Award: 65 From Our UsersUpdate 10/9/2018: It works!

RUIPRO sent me a new/updated revision of the cable. I tested it in the low power situation that formerly made HDCP 2.2 fail on the Roku Ultra test, and had no such problems with this latest revision. Everything passed with flying colors and I can now recommend this cable.

    Past history (9/2018 revision):
    ———————————–
12m cable failed the Roku Ultra’s HDCP 2.2 test – it reported it as 1.4 compliant. I swapped with a 3m amazon basics cable to ensure I could obtain HDCP 2.2 compliance and verified that this RUIPRO cable was the point of failure. This is unfortunate as I purchased this cable based on both the manufacturer’s specification of HDCP 2.2 and others’ reports.

    EDIT:
    ——–
9/06/2018: Emailed [email protected] as they requested – never received a response.
9/12/2018: After ordering another cable rated HDCP 2.2 – I found the same issue.
9/25/2018: Received a response from support, 21 days after submitting request.

Direct connect from Roku Ultra to the LG OLED65C8PUA (and 55 variation for that matter) would NOT pass Roku’s HDCP 2.2 test. On a hunch, I pulled my remote processor out of the rack and connected it Roku Ultra -> Emotiva XMC-1 -> LG TV and both cables PASSED the HDCP 2.2 test.

So, in the end, I returned this cable and changed the rating to a 3 star because:
    1. The cable does not work direct from a Roku Ultra – in my case that is ok but should be disclosed that some devices may not be able to provide sufficient power to pass HDCP 2.2 tests
    2. Support requested I contact them and they did not respond in 6 days time
    3. It did work with my processor powering the cable

Golden Review Award: 14 From Our UsersAfter trying around 15 different cable solutions this is the only one that properly worked that I tried.
I trialed a load of premium rated 4K HDR copper cables. One or two of these worked at this length however did not once in my real world situation. Ie in a roof that has power cables as well.
Then did some research and the voltage drop over copper cable at this distance came up as a consistent problem at higher data speeds. So tried two 5 metre cables joined by an amp that worked OK some of the time but not always( generally if you had lights on in the room causing disruption). But this was the best standard solution I found ( Onyx Black diamond 5m cable supplemented with an HDMI amp – as an aside also tried several amps as well. Basically none that claimed to have the speed required to run 4K HDR worked when they just used the hdmi cable as a power source) )
Then tried hdmi over CAT6 using some recommended converter pairs using solid core cat6 cable. This ran to 1080p but would not run to full 4K at hdr 60 hertz.
I also did try a cheaper optical hybrid hdmi cable but this did not work at 4K. Then did some more googling and found a forum populated by AV installers. A deeply geeky place but there seemed to be concencus around this cable as the one that works at 10 m plus ( Which by the time you have to run a cable up a wall and around a steel and along the length of room is quite easy). So as the only cable after a considerable amount of time effort that works faultlessly it gets my grateful recommendation.
This is 10 metres running up a wall and along a roof past spotlight cables from an Apple 4K tv to a 4 k projector.
( If running 1080p hdr at this distance several of the premium certified cables worked and is a much cheaper solution)

It works for about 3 days (4K @60Hz) with no issue. But after that i start facing signal crash and sounds issue.
I replaced the cable with my old 1.4 hdmi cable and the signal work.

Update: 12 June 2018 (Receiving New cable from the seller, Totally FREE!!)

First of all, I want to thank Amazon for their great services, also I would like to thank the seller (RUIPRO) for his great help and support.

Yes, the first cable I received was damaged or it didn’t last for 3 days and it die. But as soon as I inform the seller, about my problem, this seller didn’t wait to prove or to explain what’s the problem, all he asked for was my shipping address. After few days I received a new sealed cable.
I tried the new cable with my Home Theater setup and its working very fine with no issue until now.

It has been now 2 days. I wish if it will last for 2 years without any issue. Even if it dos not, I will buy it again for the same seller, without any doubt.

My setup: (How I am using the cables).

    1- 10 Meter Cable:
    – From High End PC (SLI GTX 1080)
    – To Denon AVRX4400H

    2- 15 Meter Cable:
    – From Denon AVRX4400H
    – To Optoma UHD60

I am able to setup my computer Res to 4K @60 Hz, with HDR On.

I am also able to use Dolby Atmos with no issue.

The signal is solid for each picture and audio.

Golden Review Award: 144 From Our UsersDisaster! That’s how I would describe my opening the box experience with RUIPRO’s fiber optic 15m cable I had just received along with my over studied, analyzed and researched 4k Laser projector.

Don’t get me wrong. There simply was no other cable as beautifully packed as this one. The foam covers around the connector edges. The plastic protectors on the cable ends. The velcro straps. . . oh the velcro straps. . . We are talking cable fasteners on a whole different level here.

But what good was all this fancy stuff for a cable that did not work. DARN IT! I knew I shoulda gotten for that ‘certified’ option everyone was talking about on that AV forum. I didn’t. I went for Amazon’s reviewers option instead. What do 123 people with 4.5 stars reviews know? NOTHING! IT DIDN’T WORK! No signal. Zip. Zilch. NADA!

The realization of having spent upwards of two hundred bucks on a freakin cable was upon me. What made matters worse was the fact that I did have a 30 meter non optic HDMI cable dating back to the Clinton administration (ok, maybe Obama first term.) That ages old cable worked. Flawlessly. Why did I spend all that money for nothing. I SHOULDA GOTTEN THE CERTIFIED CABLE. Not this crap.

So the installer arrived. Good, time to unload all that frustration on the first innocent soul around. Besides, he’s getting paid for it so the poor guy (very cool dude actually) can’t complain.

So am walking out with all that frustration already thinking of the million ways I could trash this crap on the internet based on my lenghly knowledge of cable technology when cool dude turns around and says. . . “boss, did you check the terminals? Fiber optic cables need source and a display ends to match.”

    Of course, they were not.

Flipped the ends. Ran a gazillion test (so that I don’t entirely look like a fool), it worked. Flawlessly.

Thank you RUIPRO. Your cable is embarrassingly good. 🙂

Golden Review Award: 24 From Our UsersProblem solver cable! I tried tradional copper hdmi cables but they didn’t work properly. This fibre based one is exactly what’s needed for long runs. I have a ps4 pro and Arris VIP 5662 STB connected through an Onkyo tx-nr656 to an LG oled55b7. Clean, sparkle free, 4k p60 with HDR. I can also confirm CEC works fine with my lg remote to control the Onkyo and an Xbox One. Also, ARC works fine to send Netflix and Amazon Prime audio from the LG to the Onkyo.

I attached a photo to show how small the cable is compared to a copper hdmi cable of he same length. One small gripe I have: the outer cable jacket is quite high friction. This makes pulling the cable through conduit difficult! So make sure you have a helper and possibly use some conduit lube.

Golden Review Award: 24 From Our UsersAdvice is often given that all HDMI cables are essentially the same…either it carries the signal or it doesn’t. True to a point, but after pulling my hair out on my previous cable rated for 3D, 4K, blah blah blah and not figuring out why the picture wasn’t what it was supposed to be I realized that this isn’t true. The previous cable was only rated at 10.2 GBPS at 60 HZ while this one is certified (important) to carry 18 GBPS at 60 HZ. This solved my problems and no, not all HDMI cables are the same.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI bought this cable (15m) based on various website recommendations. For testing, I unwound about two meters and tried it between an Amazon Fire TV 4k box and a Samsung 55″ UHD TV. At first it was good, but then I noticed some picture disturbance (HDCP snow) and audio clicks. Touching the source end (Fire TV) cable connector made things worse and the picture disappeared for a short time. A normal (cheap, 2m) HDMI cable worked fine – even when moved.

So, the cable is being returned for refund. I’ve ordered another and will update this review very soon. Hopefully this was just a one-off bad cable – but it doesn’t bode well for quality control.

    —- UPDATE —-

Second cable arrived and so far seems fine. I ran the same test and no problems were seen at 1080p60 or 4k30. I don’t have a 4k60 (18Gbps) source so couldn’t test that.

Worth noting that the cable did NOT come with any HDMI dust covers – which is vital if you’re installing the cable somewhere, which given its length is quite likely. The serial number label fell of the cable, but the general construction seems good.

So now up from 2 stars to 4. If I get any issues, I’ll update this review again.

Golden Review Award: 82 From Our UsersI just upgraded most of my home entertainment system, and one of the specs on my new equipment was the ability to show HDR 4k@60fps (4:4:4).

I bought the 33′ foot RUIPRO Fiber HDMI cord because I read a report on avsforums that this HDMI can pass HDR 4k@60fps.

There’s only 1 movie that I’m aware of right now (Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk on UHD) that utilizes those specs, so I bought it as my test material. I first tested that movie with the current HDMI cord (32′ Binary HDMI 1.4 cable) and HDR was being down-converted to SDR.

With this new HDMI, I was able to get HDR! I was also happy that the cord was very flexible and had, what appeared to be, nice solid HDMI connectors. The cord was also very light and was packaged well double boxed.

Be aware that these are active HDMI cords, so you need to connect the correct end to your display (projector/tv) and the correct end to your source (Blu-ray player, HDMI out on AVR, etc). At each end of the cord it specifies which end it needs to be connected to. No additional power source is required for this active cable, like my last active cable.

For those of you who may be interested, I’m using the Sony UBP-X800 UHD Blu-ray player, Yamaha RX-A3060 AVR, and JVC RS420 projector.

    Works well with 4k@60fps HDR!
