HS720 happy customer.
The drone is a very good bit of kit. The picture quality with the camera is fantastic. Controls are easy to learn and it’s easy to fly. It’s very robust. The built in WiFi has a strong signal at a height, so you don’t loose connection from your phone easily. I’m only giving it 4 stars because it came with missing propellers and screwdriver.
This was my second drone after losing my first on a windy day.
Decided on the Holy Stone as replacement after reading the many positive reviews. I couldn’t be more happy with the product, it is incredibly easy to operate and the picture quality is superb.
Likewise its really stable and manoeuvrable.
I have even used this drone to film some aerial footage of a new site that my company is building as a PR exercise, they were blown away by the results.
I can honestly recommend this to anyone who has an interest in drone flying.
This was my first ‘big’ drone, having played with smaller indoor ones before i made the jump to this, quite the upgrade. 🙂 Was really impressed with the quality, it feels well made and the build quality is really good, all nicely finished in it’s own carry case as well. The phone app, once I got it going, links quite well with the drone and provides lots of features, though i still haven’t tried them all as I’m still leaning to fly the thing.
Initially I did have some issues when first using the app on my phone- it would crash straight away after opening it, however this was sorted after I deleted a lot of old apps from my device. It wasn’t playing well with one of them, however once that was sorted, it links well and does work as advertised. Haven’t really had the chance to really explore the camera and video capabilities as I’ve just been concentrating on learning to fly it, but the quick shots I’ve grabbed and the video I have taken look to be pretty decent.
I’m still on learner mode with regards to the piloting speed and range etc, however it’s more than enough for what I’ll ever need it for, even on ‘slow’ mode and has provided a few hours of fun. Hoping to get the chance to explore more of it’s capabilities as my confidence and ability to fly it get better, bur for a starter drone, at this kind of money – it’s really pleased me so far.
My Holy Stone HS720 drone arrived promptly 3 days ago. First flight yesterday, second flight today very surprised by the build quality and the features at this price point. Although the camera uses electronic image stabilisation and doesn’t have a gimbal it is mounted with an anti vibration dampening and work very well. The camera will record photos and 1080p video to your phone and the Ophelia app album, to record 4K video I had to install a micro TF card into the drone.
Setting up the drone for the first time is very easy and quickly connects to the phone app. In the app I could make adjustments to camera setting and flight parameters. The ‘Follow Me’ and ‘Point of Interest’ mode work well. The ‘Return Home’ feature is also good and will land the drone within a couple of feet from the target at worst.
My last drone was a DJI Mavic which unfortunately my Grandson crashed (badly) which is why I decided to try this Holy Stone drone and I’m glad I did. I am now a Holy Stone fan. I would definitely recommend this drone for beginners and intermediate and I believe advanced users would be surprised by its build and performance for a budget price.

This drone is hands down the best drone I have flown! With a range of handy features it’s great for new pilots and is great for those that are experienced too. Unlike others you can get around 30mins fight time on just one battery and it automatically reduces the range when the battery gets low so you can easily keep an eye on it. It’s return home function is spot on and will return it to within inches of its take off point just make sure you have the required satalight connections before take off. Camera quality is damn good too. All in all a brilliant drone
I have the HS720 drone, I have found this very easy to use, very responsive to the controls, many great features, the best one for me is the return to home feature, I lost sight of my drone one day, it was recorded as being nearly 700 feet away from me, not being able to see the drone I pressed the return button, very soon after that the drone was right above me and landing, best drone I have ever purchased.

Wasn’t sure what to expect and as a beginner I had no clue what i was doing. The Holy Stone drone is awesome! Great packaging and all comes in a neat compact case which is good and solid. The drone itself also seems really solid and robust. First attempt was a total success. No issues at all. It definitely flies and the camera is great as you can see from the photos. I had no problems with the app either. I do a lot of hiking and wild camping and I’m really looking forward to getting back out with my newest bit of kit.
Great starter for 10.
This is an ideal drone for a a beginner who wants to go onto more complex or a keen enthusiast. This is a great little machine and would have got 5 stars except for the amount of time it takes to charge the battery/battery life. Recommend that a second battery. Would also say that having had a few beginner ‘hiccups’ it is very robust! Impressed with the quality, features and value for money.

Price is decent for a medium range camera quad, remote control connection has never let me down and the video range to your phone is more than enough if you’re flying safely. I.e within line of sight and basically not near any unaware people or built up areas.
The camera is decent at taking photos as long as the drone is stable. Lacking a gimble and eis like the 720e makes windy or on the fly footage look pretty amateur.
A very decently powered drone though for its price.
I would suggest its ideal for adult beginners. Not kids.
If you crash this quite heavy, foldable drone it WILL break.
Check the regs on camera quads over 250g…….not good…….if still interested buy 720e version. A very nice carry case, two batteries, both with over 20 mins flying time, a double charger and the all important eis system.

Value for money
Very impressive drone and good flying time, lots of features that would cost a lot more on other drones, speed settings high and low are great for beginners or just getting used to it. The controller gives you lots of information like battery life for drone and the controller and height and distance. The only fault is the battery charging time 5-7 hours so more than one battery is essential.

I just had my first flight with this HS 720 4K drone, and I’m really impressed with it.
Do not be fooled by it’s size or apparent low price when comparing it against larger and much more expensive drone, this drone is no slouch.
The battery life is excellent, and more than enough to achieve what I wish to film or photograph.
Yes the batteries do take a while to charge, but then its a large capacity item.
The ability to upload a flightpath and choose between H or L flight speeds which also helps the battery duration are simply great.
The interface/app on the phone down loaded easily, and worked without any issue.
I’m looking forward to more outings, and learning more about the functions I’ve as far not used.

Great for the price
Absolutely great product totally worth the money , has a great battery life which is more then enough comes in a really nice bag which is good for protecting the drone while travelling . Very easy to set up and calerbrate before you know it you will be up in the air ! . Secondally it has a great 4 k camera and films really well all in all a great drone for the money totally worth buying it !! .
good drone - App is.... meh.
drone is great, flight controls are responsive and love the camera gimbal can be adjusted in flight by the controller.
the app used for the display of the camera is abit temperamental at the time of this review. App disconnects or restarts after first 10 seconds the majority of the times. after about 10 restarts it managed to hold on for the first 15 min flight i had with it. I hope a future update will improve this.

Great little drone, spent a while researching for my first drone and chose this over other models at the price point due to the camera! Definitely the best camera, really easy to set up and use as ive never flown one before. Top tip keep it in beginner mode for a while or youl be fishing it out of a tree.. Definitely pick up some extra batteries sonyou can be out longer. Be a useful addition to the New company’s survey tools.

Great drone for beginners
This is a great drone for beginners, with a decent battery life and easy to use remote control. The camera is good too would definately recommend.

This drone is absolutely brilliant especially for the price. This drone hits the sweet spot for beginners so if your looking to start flying this is the drone for you.
Being a novice pilot I originally bought a drone at 100 price point but was not happy so decided to spend a bit more. After much research, I settled for the holy stone H720 and all I can say is…wow. This thing is just amazing.
It’s got a premium look and feel only found in expensive drones. Camera is pretty decent and so is the software. I took it out today with light winds and it handled like a champ. Only problem I found was I needed to disable my mobile data to get the video feed with my Samsung A51.

Quite straightforward to use once you understand the basics
Relatively easy to use and seems to give quite good battery life. I flew it today for the first time properly and despite it being freezing in the clear crisp air I managed to fly it for at least 15minutes and then again lasting for 5 minutes. Considering it was so cold this seemed good. I am sure it would be longer in the warmer weather. Quite easy to use once you have read the instructions and practiced the basics so I was flying within minutes and it didn’t take long to get the hang of it. The app that allows you to watch on your phone also worked well. Overall a straightforward piece of kit that is easy to use and quite light but robust and good for beginners and intermediates alike.
A quality drone that is excellent value for money!
I did a fair bit of research when buying this drone as I knew I had around 250 to spend. I wanted something high quality, but knew that the DJI drones with outside of my budget, so I decided to try this.
Both the drone itself and the controller feel like they are made from high quality materials. They feel premium and well made. When you unfold the rotor arms into their flying positions, it feels sturdy and each arm clunks into place nicely.
In flight, the drone is stable and hovers in one place without any manual intervention, which makes it easy to fly as it just goes where you want it to. It clearly has a lot of power and ascends and moves around quickly and easily even at higher altitudes. It also has enough weight to it that it doesn’t get affected by the wind too badly. Remember to put it on the highest speed setting though if it’s windy as otherwise it might not go fast enough to fly into the wind. I would definitely recommend mastering the controls and practicing a bit before taking it up high.
The battery life is excellent and seems to be close to the stated 25-26 mins, which is long enough to have some fun without having to worry about battery all the time.
The camera seems decent enough, and I’m hoping to get even better quality photos and videos with the SD card I’ve ordered that is arriving today. It’s probably not suitable for professional drone photography and videography if only because of the lack of a proper gimbal, although the anti shock system works very well indeed to be fair.
The drone comes with a protective zip-up case that holds the drone and all accessories safely and protects them from damage. Also, because the drone folds up to a much smaller size, that makes it far more practical and easier to take places in your car or backpack etc.
My experience of Holy Stone so far has also been positive. They have replied to the emails I’ve sent them quickly, and were polite and helpful.
I would have no hesitation in recommending this drone for beginners and also those with more experience on a tighter budget.
Awesome drone
This was given to me as a christmas gift and what an awesome gift. It’s very easy to use, the controls are intuitive, light weight and more so it’s got a decent battery life. I also like the fact that it comes with spare parts. I would recommend this drone to both novice and experienced pilots.
Excellent at a good price
Excellent beginner/intermediate drone , easy to fly once set up correctly, great image and video quality. Just make sure your in plenty of space have gps and connected too the satellites and your flying experience will be a good one. Great battery life compared too cheaper drones and looks great too with a lovely case and extra propellers.
Great beginner drone
The Holystone 720 is the perfect beginner drone. I have never had any experience flying a drone yet managed to fly this one quite easily. The camera is great and records high quality footage. I have even taken it out in a steady wind and the drone flew with little issues. As advertised, once the battery is low, the drone warns you and does “return home”. Also comes in a smart and handy carry bag.
The Holystone team were also very quick to react to my problems or queries.
I would highly recommend this drone to anyone!
Brilliant Drone
This is my first drone and I am absolutely delighted with it. I have been planning to buy a drone for a few years and finally spent some time looking at independent reviews before deciding to treat myself to the Holy Stone HS720 for my Christmas. It is easy to set up and fly. The quality of the video and the photos are brilliant. The battery lasts for ages too. It is very easy to control in the air. I would definitely recommend this drone to anyone who is interested in a great quality drone at a very affordable price. The carry case is top quality, as is the drone itself.
Great Drone – Fantastic price
This drone is amazing, it was very easy to set-up and works extremely well with my iPhone 11 using the Ophelia GO app — which is also very easy to use. The video quality is amazing, and the drone is easy to control to give a very stable image — important to get a large storage micro SD card as this fills up quickly, and you’ll just want to keep using this drone its great!
Great value for money
I bought this drone to give myself something to practice basic handling skills with, before deciding if I should upgrade to a more expensive item in future. For that purpose, this is absolutely ideal. The item was well packaged, delivered on time and worked fine out of the box. The app has a few wrinkles (it crashes occasionally, but not during flight so far) – but the hardware is well made, the batter life is between surprisingly good and amazing for a drone at this price point, and it is easily controlled in flight. The main differentiator between a drone at this price point and something that costs 2 or 3 times as much is probably in the camera and gimbal quality. It is perfectly useable, but in spite of being 4K, the quality of the video (and stills) is not the drone’s strongest point. The gimbal allows 90 degrees of tilt from horizontal to straight down, but it does not automatically compensate for the movement and pitch of the drone itself, so the follow me mode (which works well in most respects) tends to result in a slight bounce to the video, as the drone moves and stops, moves and stops… All in all, I think this is an excellent introduction to drone flying – perfect for someone that doesn’t want to put a 1000 drone at risk, whilst they are still learning to fly.
Holystone 720
Absolutely brilliant. However, I bought this in July and the Holystone app worked well. It was then updated and I couldn’t work out why the drone would only fly to 15m. Turns out, you have to go into settings (tiny icon at top of your phone screen) and adjust the altitude there. It seems that you have to have the drone and controller on for it to work and I think that you have to do this for each flight. Took me ages to work it out!
Recommended - the price and the quality of the drone makes this an exceptional product.
An excellent product for the price. The handling instructions and drone controls are logical and easily learnt.
The transmitter LCD screen provides adequate information including battery condition for both the drone and transmitter. The camera reproduction when used in conjunction with my iPhone is of the highest quality regardless of the actual drone height. The camera controls for either single photo or video recording are simply a short or long button press and the rotation wheel on the transmitter allows seamless viewing both forward or towards the ground.
I am very pleased with this product and given the competitive price, would certainly recommend it.

What a relief!
I received a much cheaper drone as a Christmas gift, which was faulty and had missing parts. Not to mention an unintelligible ‘instruction manual’.
After arranging its return and refund, I stumped up the extra and ordered the HS 720. It arrived on the same day, which was amazing enough.
The drone was very well packaged, the instructions easy to follow, and once the battery was fully charged, I was up in the air in about 20 minutes and teaching myself to fly.
Pure joy. Battery life is pretty good, but I will get a second battery soon. The only issue I had was with the app, my fault because I downloaded the incorrect one for the drone – so be sure you get to right – it will save a day or two of angst.
I’ve used the poor flying weather to read up on drone regulations and take the flyer test with the Civil Aviation Authority (in the UK), and now I am looking forward to some clear days to get some fun flying and some great video footage of our surrounding woodlands. For its price, this is an excellent drone to get going with.
Update on 8 February 2021:
Long story short, my last flight ended in a crash and damage to a car. Heartbreaking! It seems that the Ophelia app lost control and the drone behaved erratically. It was impossible to regain control.
Customer support from Holy Stone was quick and very courteous. It was a little more protracted than usual because of negotiating the car damage, but in the end, through language and time zones we ended up with something agreeable to all parties. Top marks for the efforts Holystone put into customer satisfaction.
I have received a replacement (within 48 hours of being promised it) and when the weather clears up, I look forward to getting back up in the air and testing the updated Ophelia app. [UPDATE 19 Feb 2021: the HS270E flies very well, and I enjoyed a full two batteries worth of flying, testing the features, and getting some great images and footage. The addition of EIS is much appreciated.]
Holy Stone make good beginner drones. If you are brand new, the HS720 and HS720e models will get you in the air and recording good footage very quickly. My advice is to find an empty field, practise at a low height, until the controls are well understood, including the programmable manoeuvres and camera actions, before you go high and far.
Do stay legal! Do read up on drone etiquette, and if getting great footage is your aim, look on YouTube for lots of helpful advice.

Great Drone for the Money
I recently purchased this drone from Amazon during the Black Friday sales and I have to say I am impressed. This is the first drone I have purchased. I read the reviews of this drone and other drone’s of similar price. I decided to opt for the Holystone HS720 (4K version) as this model can move the camera angle remotely whilst flying and improved video quality. In addition this model has slightly more flying time than the cheaper versions.
The product arrived promptly from Amazon and is well packaged which also includes a case for the drone (another bonus). I have only been using the drone for about 3 weeks and I have used most of the flying features which work well. I have included a few samples of video’s and photo’s for others to see (please note these were taken in December so light conditions are not great). I have not used the 4K video capability as I am still experimenting with the drone and the sample video is at 1080p definition (for you tube).
I did experience one problem with video freezing at points during the overall recording. I contacted Holystone support who responded promptly within 24 hours and suggested a few things to try. The problem, was rectified by replacing the micro SD card (even though I had formatted the SD card in the Holystone drone). Overall response from Holystone support is good.

When you get this drone you will be asked to submit a review which I did and they will send you a spare battery. Don’t bother its BS and they will try to fob you of with the battery are out of stock and offer you a toy drone or if you can wait then they will send you a battery.
Still waiting 6 months on despite sending emails to Holy Stone.
The H720 is a very well built folding drone. Plus the Holy Stone H720 drone comes with a case saving me 40. Much better value for money.
Drones I have had cannot be flown very high because a slight breeze will blow them off course, the H720 is heavier (well built) than my other drones I have had and do not suffer from this problem plus the GPS keeps it on track.
You will need a drone license but very easy to do online only cost 9 for I think 3 years.
Its very easy to start and once linked to the Ophelia app you can see the view from the camera and operates seamlessly.
The one touch take off and land is awesome it hovers at about 4,5 foot then stays exactly where it is. I used the return home function and that surprised me, pressed the button in the garden and it took off into the air to 49 feet then came into land, I read the instruction (should of done that first) that is what it should do to avoid houses and trees returning home.
The weather has not been that good to try out all the features but I have used it from full charge for about 15 minutes only went down 1 LED. 20 minutes plus battery life this is a big selling point and longer lasting brushless motors.
The charger has 2 ports and charges two battery one at a time you can leave on over night and both are charged.
The flight is great very responsive and a lot of fun to fly.
Camera is adjustable up and down in flight and the 4k images is brilliant.
I have used the follow me mode which works great and the point plotting is really nice.
All in amazing value for money and would highly recommend.
The Ophelia app very good it has your flight log and the camera setting to change from 2k to 4k imaging. Stores the links to both photos and videos that you can download.

Very easy to use for a new pilo
My first ‘real’ drone. I watched many Youtube videos and based on their recommendations, bought the Holy Stone HS720. In summary, it’s sturdy yet folds away to fit in the supplied carry case. The picture quality from the 4k camera is superb and the suspension of the lens means that vibrations in flight are not passed to the camera. The controls are intuitive and, along with the auto hover, means that it is easy to get in the air with confidence. Battery life is good – my first flight was less than 20 minutes but the battery still had power. The auto return on low battery or signal loss is a good feature and returns the drone to the lift off point. I have an Asus Android phone and this worked perfectly as a monitor with the 5GHz band signal. All in all, a great purchase with the Black Friday discount.
My first drone - highly delighted.
I’d been wanting to buy a drone for a while so the Amazon Prime Sale Event turned out to be the perfect time for me. I checked out the various reviews and You Tube videos before settling on this Holy Stone HS720. And I must say it is an amazing piece of kit!. Very nicely presented in the carry case it is really well engineered and very easy to set up and to use. I would totally recomend the You Tube video reviews as they were of great help to me in mastering both the set up and initial operation. I’ve been really pleased with the quality of captured photo’s and video and can’t wait for the current British Covid lockdown to end so I can get out with it again!
Best first time drone
What an amazing product, this drone is very easy to fly and setup, I was ready to fly in 5 minutes after the first charge.
The remote is ergonomically comfortable and easy to use, the battery flight time is similar to other more expensive drones. Overall a very good drone and I recommend it to anyone whom is looking for their first drone.
I took the drone out for a test drive today to see how it performs. It was a little windy today, some 8km/hr breezes. I think I am going to have to wait for an absolutely calm day before really being able to see what I can manage to shoot with this drone. Absolutely nothing I shot today was usable. That could be down to needing more practice in piloting the drone; time will tell. This is not the “E” version of the 720 but that would not have helped in any case. The drone was drifting all over the place and the video was never stable at any point. This is day one. As mentioned, I will spend more time practicing piloting the drone and wait for an absolutely calm day (perhaps next summer) before making a final opinion on this purchase. I would not recommend this as a beginner drone, unless perhaps you can use it in a large, open space when any drifting would not be an issue.

Amazing piece of art. It was simple to set up and easy to use. It’s only downfalls are the distance you can travel, height and stability of the video. I’m upgrading to the HS720E which ha a gimble built in.
Easy to Fly
Bought this as my first Drone, what a great choice for a beginner! Super easy to fly especially with 2 flight speed modes. Return to home function is great too and really easy to use, all you have to do is tap a button on the remote and the drone will fly straight to where you took off from. Camera is great for the price. Good colours and detail especially for pictures, the video is also really clear but with out the image stabilising the footage comes out a little wobbly, if I was to order again I would definitely pay the extra for the HS720E, a TIP I’ve found flying backwards with the wind gives me the smoothest footage!! and double check your default setting in the app, mine was set to 2k not 4k as default.
Overall quality of the drone is great, I’ve managed to crash into a tree twice (my fault) with no damage to the drone! Not even the propellers!

Fantastic drone I have to say. Gets good height and very sturdy. Video footage can sometimes be a little blury, but otherwise ok. Always make sure you have enough data on your mobile phone otherwise it can lose signal. Unfortunately mine lost signal flying over a river and sunk to the bottom of the riverbed….an expensive mistake made.
Great drone with good battery life.
This is the second drone I have purchased from Amazon and I must say it’s so much better than the first one. When I received my first drone I thought it was pretty good until I received this one and realized what I had been missing. This drone is extremely easy to set up and more importantly to fly, the app works flawlessly allowing you to view a live stream and take pictures and video at the click of a button on the remote control. It’s so easy to fly because basically the drone does all the hard work for you, if you take your hands off the controls it will stay exactly where it is, utilizing GPS it will also follow you and it will also return to it’s take off location should you tell it to again by the touch of a button. It will also return to its take off location if it loses signal or the battery is low. Speaking of the battery it really is very impressive, I had 23 minutes flying time which I consider excellent. Overall a great drone at a great price, I would definitely recommend this drone to anyone thinking of purchasing one, I doubt you could get anything better at this price. Very happy!
Great Drone with Great Features
This is my first drone and I have to say I am very impressed with the HS-720.
Its very easy to fly and very stable the software seems to be well featured and the drone and control are very well made. The free case is also really good quality and very handy.
Obviously I am still getting the hang of all the features but it’s really good fun to fly.

Well, what can I say but What a Brillant Drone..!!! I’m so pleased that I made the purchase.I am a total beginner and this was the ideal drone for me.. I can’t stress enough how this drone is good for beginners and of course more intermediate flyers..You will not be disappointed…The battery life also was another reason for buying the Holy Stone 720 and it does last over the 20mins even when recording 4k !! Yes, this is the newer model as it does indeed have 4k video…The other thing that I need to point out is the app that this drone needs..as with the older 2k model it was the Ophelia App that app does not work on the 4k drone. You will need the app called 4K Ophelia Go which will pick up the drone for you to fly..So just to say that anyone thinking of buying this drone go do it you will not be disappointed..!!! hope the video will help you decide..!! Pro drone at affordable price.
I’ve only used cheap drones before so very much a beginner but you can tell the difference from a cheap drone. I had to watch a couple of videos first as I was worried about the gps configuration. Make sure you get the gps and initial setup correct or you’ll crash it. The handling and stability is amazing. Once you’ve mastered the setup and config you can enjoy a great drone.

Simply yet another fantastic superbly made drone from Holystone. This is my first time trying a good quality drone and what a great experience it is. This is so easy to fly, control and have lots of fun with. Excellent quality camera that take wonderful quality and well detailed pictures. The battery life is amazing, an average time of around 23 minutes (I have four batteries.) I’d highly recommend the hs 720 to anyone who is upgrading from something smaller and wants a great experience, this is a high quality product from Holystone, and they provide a number one customer service above and beyond.
Good value for money
Really good little drone for beginners. The camera is pretty good and it is very small and portable. One touch return home excellent. Battery life not amazing but lasts the 25ish minutes as described. Good value for money.
I’ve wanted a drone for years, but up to now, the good ones have cost too much. Enter the Holy Stone HS720. I’ve got friends with a DJI Mavic and after having a go, admit it’s just as good or even better as the battery lasts quite a bit longer. I haven’t done an official decibel test but the Holy Stone seems to be quite a bit quieter.
It’s amazing to fly and literally wake up and think “where can I fly with it today” amazing quality camera for pics and video.
If you’re here thinking, “should I get a Mavic Mini or this” like I did, get this bi promise you won’t be disappointed.
Good for beginners but no 4k pics
It’s a good drone for beginners. Easy to use. However, accessing settings is not easy.
Also the spec says 4k but I’ve not been able to get 4k. Am I doing something wrong?
I am fairly new to drones and wanted some camera functionality below a DJI price point, but most importantly I wanted GPS capabilities. This drone definitely does not disappoint. Upon first touch, the drone feels precisely manufactured and QC is excellent. The after sales support is also really good. Initial setup and calibration are a breeze. Video and still quality are excellent – with the stills definitely a touch higher resolution but happy with both. My wife was a bit nervous to try it but found it very easy to fly with no experience. The app and remote are also great.
Be aware that the microSD you use must be 32 GB or smaller, but apart from that, this will give you everything you need to get flying safely and start taking some pictures! Highly recommended.
I have used very expensive drones and seen how beautiful the video a d pictures look, but of course you paid for that.
This little unit is very well built and is very controllable. I have no complaints at all, the hand controls are very well made and show everything you need plus.
The mobile phone App is really good, you get very clear video and information on screen.
The camera can be independently rotated from a front view to below the camera from the hand set. So just over 90 movement.
In the front view you can see the drone rotors in picture.
The video is very good when the drone is static/hovering. But as it moves around the picture has a slight jelly effect. This isn’t perfect, but also it’s not so bad that you stop watching or stop enjoying the subject matter.
There is also the ability to take stills pictures from a press of a button on the hand controls, even when video is being recorded.
These stills are very good, baring in mind that the camera has no controls for focus or exposure etc. It is what it is.
There are other features that work well. I like that the GPS is very fast at getting a lock and holds the drone in perfect place when hovering even in quite strong winds.
I’d say for the cost, this is as close as you will get to a pro done without spending a lot more money.
Well this was my first outing with The Holy Stone HS 720 Drone. And it did not disappoint. I flew it for the first time in blustery conditions but it coped really well. Everything worked. I tried the follow me feature which is great and it returned to it’s take off point every time. I had a bit of a panic though as whilst it was following me the battery became very low and it sped off out of sight. I had no idea where it had gone so I went back to the first take off point and there it was in the exact same spot. FANTASTIC ! Apparently if the battery runs out it takes itself home. A brilliant piece of kit and good value.
Easy to use even for beginner. Picture quality fabulous
Having never owned or used a drone I was apprehensive about my ability to use and enjoy a drone. I saw many drones much cheaper but was wary of cheaper build and camera quality. I am delighted I invested in this Holy Stone HS720 4K. The build quality is sturdy and strong. It is much easier to set up and fly than I anticipated, Very stable in flight and the camera picture/video quality is crystal clear. The return to home and one key take off features are brilliant. You do not need to pay extra for a memory card for the photos and videos as they are stored on the Ophelia GO app you download and they can easily be copied straight to your photo album on your smart phone. Overall I would highly recommend.

I had been looking to upgrade to a more substantial drone from smaller/cheaper ones. I had been looking at many reviews and settled on the holystone, knowing they are a high quality company and have good reviews. On un boxing the drone I was impressed by the smart case containing the drone itself and the other equipment that it comes with. The drone is very sturdy and well made. Nice to fly and the picture quality is great, really vibrant colours. I particularly like the controller and how smoothly the controls work. All aspects work well including follow me etc. I am not a particularly technological man but the app is easy to use and works perfectly. One thing to note is to make sure your phone has the right connectivity so the WiFi from the drone will connect or like me you will have to have a second drone phone. Most new phones will work fine.

Genuinely blown away by the features that come on this drone for the price! The drone is very easy to handle (this was my first drone so an important aspect for me) and super easy to set up. It includes handy features such as setting a waypoint for the drone to follow, circling the area you are in and even a return home feature which is great for when you want a quick way of returning the drone to you (surprisingly good accuracy in returning to the spot in which you took off!). Battery life is great and I have found on average I am getting around 15/25 mins of flying time depending on the functions. Was also great to receive a carrying case with this drone (which from my research is usually an additional purchase for many other drones). My only negative for this drone is the time it takes for the battery to charge, which seems to take for ever! However I have found it easy enough to leave the battery to charge overnight, ready for use the next day. Overall I’m super happy with this product and wouldn’t hesitate in recommending to anyone wanting a fully featured and easy to fly drone.
Not bad as first drone
After watching the review by captain drone I decided on this model. Out the box it is not bad and the case is very helpful. The USB C connector for charging is a nice feature for Android phone users. The battery life is about 20-25 mins so far. The app is bang average at best and is less sophisticated than other models i have seen reviewed. The camera is a bit shaky and the rotation of the lens is is too fast, which adds to the feeling of jerkiness overall. The picture quality is good. It’s easy to fly otherwise and overall I am happy so far.
Fantastic flyer, great build quality!
After a bad experience with the first drone I bought I decided to try another manufacturer with a slightly higher price, and I’m so glad i did… This drone is an excellent flyer, fantastic stability and ease of control. It performs very well even in slightly windy conditions and there are 2 speed options, normal & fast once you have built up sufficient confidence. The one touch take off/landing feature is spot on and very stable.
The battery life is just as it says on the box, 25/26mins and I have also purchased a 2nd battery.
The case supplied by Holy Stone is really good and combined with how compact the actual drone is, this allows such ease of transport you can it take with you almost anywhere.
The camera is excellent quality and a 32gb micro sd card is ample video storage space.
The only minor cons are the one axis camera gimble(up/down) and 5-7hr USB charging for batteries but for the price and the drone build quality this would not have put me off buying at all and will look to Holy Stone first for future updates.
Great starter drone, excellent value for money
The HS720 is an amazing drone. When I took it out of the box, I was blown away by the feel, style and superior build quality and knew straightaway that I had made an excellent choice. After watching a couple of videos and reading the start-up guide, I followed the easy instructions and completed a very successful maiden flight in the back garden. All-in-all, I would recommend anyone thinking of buying their 1st “grown up” drone to choose the HS720 as its features are excellent when compared to more expensive models.

very good drone
My experience with holy Drone so far is fantastic. I ordered the Holy drone HS720 on amazon last week and got it deliverd the same day. I have only had the chance to fly my drone a handful of times due to very windy conditions (uk), however I was very impressed with this. The HS720 in my opinion is the best available on the market for the price range.
This is ideal for beginners or even more experienced people due to the ease of flying this but you can also have some real good fun with this once you have got used to it.
Holy stone customer service is also very good. I sent an email in the evening and they replied the next morning.
I would 100% recommend these products.
Top quality construction in a mid price drone.
Having purchased a drone last year in this ‘price bracket’ and been disappointed with its performance I was somewhat reluctant to purchase a 2nd drone. But after my wife enquired what I wanted for my birthday I said a drone.
From the moment I unboxed it and saw the included case (which is often an extra with other drones) I realised it was a quality product. The feel of the drone and the way the props unfold ‘said’ it was of a high build quality. After charging the battery and reading the instructions, I was keen for its maiden flight but also very apprehensive as the local weather was a little windy — so I delayed things. Next day there was still some breeze but I was keen to fly it so walked to my local park.
It takes just a few minutes to pair to the remote and the phone app and set it up to connect to GPS — it picked up 16 satellites very quickly. Whilst recommendation say not to use drones in windy conditions, I need not have worried – using the one key take off button it lifted and held its position perfectly just above my head in the breezy conditions. For the next 20 minutes or so I put it through its paces with a smile on my face — it performed perfectly. By downloading local maps before I left home I was able to try out the follow me mode and was very impressed as it followed me around the field just 20′ above and behind me.
The green battery level indicator lights at the rear and the red and green led lights underneath make it very easy to always know which is front and rear, and there are also ‘landing lights’ underneath which can be switched on, so it is very easy to fly even for beginners. I soon became confident enough to use the high speed and was very impressed with its speed and the way it held its line from one end of the football pitch to the other.
I have flown it virtually every day for the last week and also fly it in my back garden — this was something I was not keen to do with the previous drone as I have quite few trees and obstacles to avoid and was not always confident the drone would avoid them.
The return to home feature is great, when activated the drone gains height to avoid obstacles etc. and then flies to above the take off point and slowly descends adjusting itself slightly to touch down within inches of where it took off.
The battery level indicator lights still showed there was plenty of power left, so am confident that the stated 25 min flight time is easy to achieve.
The transmitter/remote is easy to use and uncluttered with a nice fold out section to attach your phone, and buttons clearly marked with their functions. Customer support is 1st class – I misunderstood some of the details in the instruction book (because I was speed reading) and after emailing support got a response in hours.

The quality of the photos which are now 4K with this new model are in fantastic detail and the videos are very good as well — this model also has a zoom.
Believe the hype, this is a brilliant product and the after sales service is fantastic especially if you are lucky enough to speak with Valentina .
The drone is simple to set up and I had it flying within 15 minutes of getting it. I was a bit apprehensive about losing it or losing control but that apprehension was I’ll founded because if things get tricky and you panic, just press the RTH button and it comes straight back to the take off point.
Everything about this drone is first class and the price is fantastic considering the picture and HD video quality. There are so many many features that come into there own the more you use it and the more experienced you get.

My HS720 drone developed a mind of its own when flying – didn’t hit anything but just flew straight into the ground snapping both right hand rotor arms. Holystone could not have been more helpful when I contacted them. The drone was still in warranty and after seeing pics of the damage was replaced with a new model without question. Great service – what more could you want?

Good quality drone, amazing customer service
This is my first drone, and couldn’t believe how easy it is to set up and fly. Pictures and video, are of reasonable quality, and best when saved to an onboard micro SD card.
Flight time is about 25 minutes per battery and I was confident enough to fly outside of my garden with next battery.
Downside is the batteries take up to 7 hours to charge.
My controller developed a fault, emailed customer service who responded with in 2 Hours. A replacement controller wasnt available for about 15 days. So they decided to send another complete drone, and that arrived with in 2 days!
Amazing, and friendly customer service.
Now I operate this drone confidently, I can’t wait for Holy Stone to produce something similar with a professional camera.
Very pleased with my HS720!
This is my first drone and 5 days in, I’m hooked. I’ve never used another drone, so can only speak about this in isolation.
The HS720 is simple to set up, easy to fly/land, take photos & videos with; once you get the right app!. There are at least 3 Ophelia apps in the store (the 4K model needs Ophelia GO). Once this was loaded my iPhone connected instantly On WiFi and as hoped for, gave immediate outstanding picture quality.
The switch between photo /video is simply done on phone screen. One downside is the jerky motion from changing the angle Change on the controller. As it’s for pleasure only, it’s not a problem now, but does prevent me from making a smooth video. The 26min flight time is great, the 6hr recharge time is overcome with a second battery.
Assistance from the Help Desk thru email was quick (<8hrs) and resolved my issue immediately.
I would strongly recommend this to a first time user like me.

Revived on the 19th May excitedly put the battery on for charge , according to manual it can take 5 to 7 hrs to charge . After 7 hrs checked the battery , flashing green light on charger , waited another hour still the same so i inserted battery into drone switched on and proceeded to manual . battery indicator on transmitter showing 2 bars . After 5 minutes the power went on drone did not even get chance to fly .
so ordered another battery , new battery all OK.
onto the drone itself . What a easy Drone to fly loaded with features good flying time . the quality of the video is what you expect for the price but still very good RTH feature was accurate to within 3 feet .
I would have given 5 stars all the way but for the battery will endeavour to get replacement battery within next few days will let you know how HOLY STONE , respond .
Fantastic, High Quality 4K Drone
This is the 4K edition of the HS720, by HolyStone. It arrived next day by Amazon, & was greeted by a beautiful case, inside was all the drone, charger, battery, spare propellers. After setting up the app on the phone, it was full steam ahead, fast connection, and the video & photo quality is amazing. You do have to make sure you setup as 4K on every setup by the app, as 2.4 quality is default. It’s recommended to calibrate on every use which takes less than 30 seconds. I’m yet to go out & try the other features such as Orbit, & follow me, but would choose HolyStone again for a future drone.
A great drone for beginners and the experienced
The Holy Stone HS720 drone is a great all rounder. Very easy to set-up and fly with all the features you would expect to find on a more expensive model.
I was contemplating buying a more expensive well know model but glad I decided to opt for the HS720.
Would have preferred in to be 4K but it still takes great photos and video!

Amazing drone from Holy Stone , good for beginners and advanced users. Excellent flight time, great battery, and the 2K camera is excellent. It comes well packaged in a nice carry case , with the controller, battery charger, spare props , screws and screwdriver, and a very detailed and easy to understand manual. Also when you buy any Holy Stone drone, you will receive the best customer service you can imagine ( special thanks to Una from Holy Stone, your customer service is the best I ever encountered). Not the cheapest but excellent quality
I found this really easy to fly out of the box as a novice. I read the instructions saw a few videos and was reassured with the auto take off and return to home. This return feature is especially good because it gives you confidence that if things start to go wrong you can recover it easily back to where you are. The battery life is great and the flight very stable. The camera moving is a super idea but I just wish the movement was a bit smoother. Folding the drone up and complete with included case makes it excellent for travelling easily.
If you have issues the customer service is the best I have ever had the pleasure to use, personally looked after by Una who guided me through everything. Buy and enjoy with confidence.
An overall fantastic drone
Holystone HS 720 drone review
The drone is well packaged and comes in a fairly substantial carrying case which is a nice touch. Inside the case was the drone, controller and a box with the charger and some spare propellers. A folder with operating instructions was in the lid of the case.
First impressions of the drone were very good. It is a really nice looking drone and felt heavier and more solid than I was expecting. The folding arms work smoothly and solidly locate into place.
The instructions in the book were easy to follow, so setting up the drone to fly it was no problem. The controller feels well put together and there is a holder for a phone for FPV and video/pictures etc. via an app. The controller also provides information such as signal strength, battery power, altitude, distance etc.
Once I’d downloaded the app using a scan of a barcode in the book, I was ready to fly. The drone was very easy to pair with the controller and calibrating for GPS etc was simple. Pushing a couple of buttons automatically starts the rotors and raises the drone approx. 5 feet from the ground. Very simple again. The GPS on the drone worked brilliantly and held it quite stable.
Controlling the drone during the flight wasn’t difficult, even for a beginner like myself. It easily went up over 200 feet and was still very responsive and still held steady when hovering. I’ve taken videos and pictures using both the WiFi signal to my phone and the micro SD card (not included). Pictures were good, but the camera is not 4K. Obviously, this is reflected in the price. The equivalent DJI Mavic is 3 times the price of this drone, but for what I want this is easily good enough.
The smart features are controlled by the app. I haven’t had chance to use these yet due to poor weather, but when I have flown this drone I’ve loved it. Battery life is good too at around 26 minutes, however charging time is lengthy at 7 hours. Definitely worth getting an additional battery. The charger does hold 2 batteries at a time, but they do not charge simultaneously, so another charger is a good idea too.
All in all this is a fantastic drone for the price. The flying experience is pretty simple and a whole lot of fun. This is a real quality drone for a very affordable price. I’d love to see if there is a possibility of a 4K camera upgrade in the future, basically a straight swap for the existing one, and maybe the possibility of a faster charger, but these are just minor things that would just improve an already great bit of kit.
If you like to fly drones then this one is highly recommended for both beginners and more experienced pilots. Happy days.

This is a fantastic drone. Really well built !!.
It flys brilliantly, is very stable when hovering and in flight.
I’ve had it for a month now and used it 5 times , it’s done everything that I’ve asked of it perfectly ( even though I’m a complete beginner ).
I did struggle to get it into headless mode at first.
That’s the one change I would make, a straightforward button/switch to change between headless and normal modes.
I really love the carrying case , supplied as standard. A really nice touch! !.
Unbeatable price!
I’m a begginer but quite capable, I find it really easy to fly and all its features are outstanding for the money. I’ve trashed it in trees and it’s dropped 20ft and nothing has broken. It really does stay up for around 26 minutes. I use it for wildlife so the only way I can moan is that the camera seems 20yds away when it’s only 20ft and the photos pixel when you zoom.
Otherwise, buy one, it’s brilliant!
Excellent choice
This drone has so much quality and innovation. Looking at the case when it arrived I thought how have they squeezed everything into such a compact thing ? On taking the drone out of the case I knew right away this has quality. I have been flying cheaper drones over the years and always wanted to get something better.Did not and could not afford the usual DJI, Yuneec etc. This for the money is excellent! The specs speak for themselves check them out folks you will not be disappointed ! Flying is easy, battery time is just the normal 20 to 25 mins rth works a treat, buy one !
Good VFM but its no Mavic
This is a good drone for the money. Its very similar in appearance to a much more expensive brand 5 times the price. Having a display on the remote is useful, especially if you have a small phone screen or sun on it. Don’t expect too much from the camera if you want to do aerial photography. The lack of gimballed stabilisation makes videos jerky and the camera has a fish eye type lens to get a lot in. Ive yet to get more than 80m range before the FPV picture drops out – many of the US orientated You Tube reviews suggest you can get much further. I find it is fine for still photographs at short range where the resolution is more acceptable and if you like the thrill of flying, its will fly very fast in High speed mode.
Wifi drone to phone has stopped working!
Three months on from Buying my HS720 the wifi in the drone has stopped working. It’s not my phone. Other Holystone drones I have still connect drone to phone fine.
For this reason would now not recommend this drone.
I have flown this drone between 6 and 8 times. It fly’s well just stopped wifi.
Great drone
Not my only drone but certainly my favourite. Been flying since August & treated myself to the HS720 3wks ago. It is easy to configure, instructions guide you through setup and controlling drone in flight. Have used the return home, follow me and thingy that makes it circle object & they all worked fine, as does the return home. If I had to be negative Ifind moving camera in flight is jolty but only done it twice and sometimes app crashes but this happens with other drone so maybe due to my phone. Highly recommended as are Holy Stones customer services

Good drone for beginners,not the best camera but dece
First of all the drone is very nice to fly,a bit unstable if it’s windy but hey don’t fly when is strong wind (more than 20 km/h).Now the bad part that happend to me ,the drone that camed to me it’s not equipped with a 2K camera, it records in HD resolution, that’s 720 p ,pictures the same..I contacted the seller and waiting for a response,will update(and btw on the box it says 1080p camera)
Edit /Update :after I contacted customer support from Holy Stone ,they told me the camera it’s gonna film 2k but only with a SD card inside ,so I tested and it works accordingly.Very fast response from them btw, professional. I recommend !
Although I’m a member of the Vine programme, this was a personal purchase.
I’ve always been interested in photography and videography and was looking to extend the scope, so I’d been toying with the purchase of a drone for some time. However, I’ve been reluctant to purchase a top-end drone in case I proved to be unable to fly it and wasted the money.
I tried low-cost drones but their functionality is so poor that they’re very difficult to fly, so I thought I’d try a “mid-range” drone, and the Holy Stone HS720 seemed to fit the bill. What a great decision that was.
I was impressed as soon as I opened the box, a quality fitted case held the drone, with a battery installed, the controller and space for an additional battery. The controller requires two AA batteries, which are not supplied. There was also a USB charger with space for two batteries, a spare set of propellers, a screwdriver, a comprehensive user guide and a very useful quick-start guide. I also found it useful to download a pdf version from the Holy Stone website.
Lift the drone out of the case and the build quality is immediately evident; sold metal construction, no cheap plastic. The arms unfold with a satisfying clunk.
Charging the battery takes up to seven hours for up to twenty-six minutes flying, so I thought a spare battery would be a worthwhile investment.
You can connect a smartphone to the drone’s Wi-Fi hotspot and downloading the “Ophelia GPS” app allows you to see what the camera sees and adds a little extra functionality. There is a pop-up holder on the controller that will take a smart phone with a five inch screen. Viewing this can be difficult in bright sunlight; I only use this to finally position the drone just prior to taking pictures.
On every power-on the drone goes through a short set-up routine, following which it’s necessary to recalibrate the compass. This is a simple routine that only takes a few seconds.
What I found most impressive is that I was able to fly this drone right from the start. Without touching the joysticks, the “take-off” button flies the drone up to a height of five feet and the GPS system keeps it in a steady hover until you’re ready to start flying.
Getting used to the controls takes a little time and it’s very easy to forget that forward, backward, left and right are not where you’re looking but where the drone’s pointing. It can be quite disconcerting when the drone flies off in a different direction to what you thought you’d told it to do.
That’s where the “Return to Home” function is very useful. Press the button on the controller ant the drone flies up to 98 feet and the flies back and hovers above the point from which it took off. You can either continue flying or land.
If you want to land, you can either manually fly down or press the automatic landing button and let the firmware do it for you.
There are two speeds, low and high, which are selectable from the controller but I’ve never found it necessary to use the high speed mode.
The app also allows you to fly on a pre-set path, “follow-me”, or fly around a “Point of Interest”. I’ve decided not to try these functions until I’m completely confident with the basic functions.
The inbuilt 2K HD camera which is situated on the front can be positioned anywhere from straight ahead to straight down and can be set from the controller. Still or video images can be recorded either on the smartphone or a micro SD card (up to 32GB) which can be installed in the drone. Images stored on the SD card can be downloaded by the app or the card can be removed and plugged into a PC.
The GPS system keeps the drone stable and provides an excellent platform for taking photographs or videos.
My initial plan was to become proficient with this drone and then upgrade to a DJI drone but I’m so impressed, I don’t currently see this to be a worthwhile investment.
If you’re looking for an easy to fly, fully functional, drone you will have trouble finding better value.
You should be aware that it’s illegal to fly this drone in any public area unless you have acquired an Operator’s Licence by registering with the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) on its website. Any other person who flies your drone will need a Flyer’s Licence. You must also clearly display your Operator ID on the drone.
Very happy
I like the drone very much. It is well made and ideal for me as my first drone. Its easy to fly and once easy to set up but you have to have a phone with 5G wifi. I ended up having to buy an old Samsung J7 in order to get the app to work. You can fly it without a phone but you lose many features and your film wont be as good. I contacted customer services and they were very helpful and speedy in their response. I have crashed it twice (so far) without any damage at all. This is a beginner drone but good enough for some professional work as well.
Awesome piece of technology
This is the first time I ever owned a drone was not sure what to expect but everything I read and watched about this holy stone hs 720 was so accurate when I took it out for the first time only tried it for a few minutes then hit return to home came back and landed on the exact spot where I took off from just an awesome piece of kit well impressed pictures and recordings are also excellent quality as well thanks Holy stone.
Well packaged little drone
This is meant to be a fun drone at this price. It has GPS which helps it fly better and makes it suitable for a beginner. I like to take photographs and this drone can certainly do that easily. I could not find how to format the micro SD card. Best to fly in low wind conditions. The battery lasts fairly well, but carry spares. I loved the carry bag it came in. Video is fairly good, again, best film in low wind conditions. The camera can look down too which is great fun. It all functions well, with follow functions etc. Age group for this drone could start at 12 plus. We in the uk now have to register to fly a drone with the civil aviation authorities.
Excellent piece of kit for the money
I have a few home built multirotors (drones) but have also been following the units produced by Holy Stone. I have bought a few of them and always found the build quality excellent for the price. The technical support (should you ever need it) is excellent too. They are NOT the sort of people to sell you something then not give you any backup, like some other sellers. I’ve had a camera fail on an earlier unit which was replaced, free, without question in a couple of days.
I bought the HS720 because it looked handy to put in my camera bag. The drone is sturdy and heavy enough not to get blown around in a breeze. Despite the weight I can agree the flight time is excellent and easily achieves the 26 minutes they claim.
It works seamlessly with the OpheliaGPS app.
It comes with a well designed carry case that some other sellers charge you extra for.
It is easily portable and the ‘follow me’ and POI functions are a great addition to my picture taking. The design is very similar to the Mavic Air at a fraction of the price.
My suggestion to any new purchasers is to let the drone sit for a few minutes once you have calibrated it, This will give time for the GPS to stabilise. I have a handheld GPS unit for walking and my home built drones have GPS too. It is always a good idea to let the GPS stabilise on these units too.
I highly recommend it and now lives in my camera bag permanently. Where my camera goes, the HS720 goes.
I’ve been flying drones for 3 years and learnt with a x5c. The Holystone Hs720 is my first GPS drone and a great upgrade.
The battery took just under 5 hours to initially charge for me and provided a flight time of 22 minutes.
Initial pairing of the drone and controller was straightforward and quick.
The calibration of the drone (for GPS) was explained clearly, fairly straightforward and did not take too long.
Connecting the Drone to the app on my phone was also straightforward.
The Drone feels sturdy and is impressively stable to fly. The GPS features all worked well for me and were equally impressive. Return to home returned to within a few inches of the takeoff point.
The picture quality is good, I’ve seen better but not at this price.
This is a great drone for beginners – intermediate. Fun to fly with excellent features. If you are new to drones I would recommend learning to fly at a lower altitude without the GPS on so that you know how to recover if you ever lose GPS signal.
Bought mine in on Sunday 24th November, it was delivered on Monday about midday.
Very impressed with the carry case which comes complete with spare props and screws, screwdriver, battery charger, instruction wallet, drone and RC controller. Case is very well made and has a zip across the top of the net in the lid to keep additional things.
I have not had a chance to fly yet, but did go through the handbook and start it up and do the initial take off – luckily I have a enough floor to ceiling space. It is annoying that you do need to calibrate it each time you use it, if that feature could be added it would make it much quicker to take out the box and fly.
I ordered a replacement battery which is on a separate order, did not need to to order a TF card (Micro SD), I am sure I can find one suitable in my collection. You will need to supply 2 x AA batteries for the RC which has a nice display to be able to see both battery levels on the Drone/Controller and other flight information.
One thing regarding the battery charger: It will charge 2 batteries, however is not powered by the mains (or mains adapter) but uses micro USB to USB to connect to a normal 5v adaptor as used with iPhone or Android phones, this can mean the battery can take 5-7 hours to get the battery from flat to full charge. Also whilst the battery charger can do two batteries at once, the batteries do not clip lock/latch into the charger and just rests on the pins/connection, thus meaning it is easy to knock it off the connection, if Holy Stone can improve on this then this would take away the one minor irritation, but to be honsest it is NOT a negative point, just would improve the whole charging process.
This has a lot of the features you would normally associate with a well known drone manufacturer (Follow Me, RTH etc) but also has a few other nice additions allowing you to trace a path for the drone to follow.
Highly recommended for beginners and advanced operators/flyers, remember as this drone weighs over 250g with battery you will need to ensure you obey all laws regarding a operators license.
I only found Holy Stone Drones when browsing Amazon, and am so glad I did!
Great starter drone, excellent battery life, good pictures, need to be able to buy a second battery.
Great drone for the price, a bit annoying that you have to calibrate the giros everytime you switch it on, spinning it round etc, sometimes the GPS takes a bit of time to stabilize, the camera looses connection at a distance before losing control. Once up and going it has all the features of a much more expensive drone and a great platform to learn on, very easy to fly, excellent battery life says 26mins totally agree, I’m almost waiting for the battery to die but it keeps going. The only thing is I can’t get a second battery, nobody seems to have them available, or in stock!

My first drone
I don’t normally write reviews. However the HS 720 has impressed me so much that I feel a review is merited. I spent a lot of time researching before making this purchase and it was time well spent. This drone is amazing!
Firstly, the build quality is of a very high standard and far surpasses more expensive drones. The carrying case is well made and a good size. Compact enough to fit into a rucksack or motorcycle pannier.
The initial set up is straight forward and takes no time at all to have everything calibrated.
Operation and flying of the drone is straight forward. The controls are precise and I was able to operate the drone in a confined area on the first flight.
The manufacturer’s technical support is awesome. Precise and friendly team who appear to be online 24/7.
Built in features are impressive for a drone of this size. All in all making it a very advanced machine for both family and travel videos. I would highly recommend this drone to anyone, even those first time flies like myself.
Definitely worth the money, very sturdy drone and a pleasure to fly. Easy for anyone!
The HS720 Drone is so far the best drone that Holystone have made for Beginner-intermediate pilots. It’s so compact and is easy to travel around with. Battery life is very impressive and the range is also pretty remarkable. It is very stable in the air, the image quality is very good. I do personally recommend recording to an SD card through the drone itself, as oppose to streaming it to your phone or tablet because this could result in some lag or poor quality. Definitely one of its most impressive features as the Follow-me mode and the orbit mode. However, as Holystone’s flagship model, it is very impressive and I highly recommend buying this drone.
Got a normal drone but found it not that practical for travelling around with so thought I’d try out this foldable drone.
I’m very impressed with the overall look and presentation. Came in it’s own little box which is great for storing but I’ll probably just put in it a rucksack when I go out. Nice size and quality feels and looks sturdy. Took some footage and I think the quality is very good for the price. It was quite windy that day and it held it’s own with GPS. Had an initial problem where it seemed to drift quite a lot in hover mode but I solved this by when calibrating the internal compass have the camera end pointed down when turning. It was steady as rock after rencalibration (this will make sense when you read the instructions).
A 2md battery will be essential as recharge time is quite long. But having had another drone fornqhike once you for your footage you don’t use more than 2 batteries worth anyway.
All in all very pleased so far with the drone and the overall package offered for a very reasonable price and features included.
Ok, so I must start by saying I am a total drone-addict and find it a thoroughly enjoyable pastime going for a walk to wind down after a tough week at work, finding a field and chilling’ out, having some me time and creative photography all in one. I’ve been yearning after a DJI Mavic-Pro ever since getting into this, but at 1k+ can’t see me getting one anytime soon. This clone and its equipment is a Mavic look-alike at a fraction of the price. That said let me say it wouldn’t even come close to the tech spec of the Mavic, but as a drone that easily fits into the rucksack, has long flight time with good image quality it is by far the best drone I have.
When the drone arrived I was genuinely blown away by the quality of the case, drone and assembled equipment. Although the Holystone call this a “toy” its pretty high up that scale and feels the real deal. Ive wanted a fold away drone for ages and this is it…. Its really easy to fly, stable and quality is another step up from the 1080p drones out there. I would totally recommend it as a buy for first time or pro pilots. I’ve flown it 3 times now and am still finding new things about it.

I bought this drone seeing it has most of the features of the ‘mainstream’ drones around. Considering the price is surprisingly low for options it gives, I had to have it. It is great ‘higher class’ starter drone, or pretty good 2nd one that can be of much help when needed, not only for kids’ play. 2K camera with stabilization, RTH mode and Tap-fly options makes it more than a toy. But what really surprised me was the option to plan (draw) flying path within the app itself (free Ophelia GPS app) – as this option is not available with it’s biggest competitor, it works well and it’s simple to set up.
Great benefit is the low pitch noise, it gives almost ‘humming’ sound, and you appreciate it especially if you had a chance to work with some of the dji quads. Definitely much quieter motors here. With over 25 min of flight – intelligent battery is great, locks into position firmly – so you can’t de-assemble it by accident. It would be great if charging time would be a bit shorter, but you can probably order another battery to get longer flight time. This drone comes with extra set od props and USB battery charger (for charging two batteries simultaneously). Remote control uses standard AA batteries so it is not a problem to switch them if you run out of juice during flight. You also get sturdy and good size carrying bag for drone and accessories.
Maneuverability is great, responsiveness is precise and I did not see any lagging although I pressured it quite heavily with quick direction changes and speeding up and down. All in all it is a great fun to fly this drone, and also great value for money. Very decent present under the Christmas tree, and with an extra battery you have almost an hour of pure fun.
If I had to sum this drone up in one sentence, I’d say it’s so good it’s scary – This thing is quite literally the perfect ‘recon’ drone you’d find in games like TC’s Breakpoint, being a formidably fantastic drone for surveillance and surveying (though it’s not advised).
It’s quite comparable to the DJI Air, with the amazing build quality and a good amount of weight to the drone, only for 1/3 of what you’d pay for a DJI drone or similar. Granted, it’s not going to top one of those drones and at this price point, however, the affordability of this drone combined with the large variety of features is simply phenomenal.
The HS720 has quickly become my favourite Holy Stone drone, seeing as it has the nicest UI/setup of them all, not to mention the ability to have a top-down view with a spotlight!
This drone is the perfect way to enter the hobby without absurdly high upfront costs, so to anyone out there still waivering on their decision to start flying drones, I 100% recommend this drone!
The H720 is based on (and in my opinion almost identical to) a much more expensive drone by DJI. The other company sell a carry case for nearly 40 but the holy stone drone comes with a free case. Much better value for money.
Previous drones I have had cannot be flown very high because a slight breeze will blow them off course, the H720 is pretty heavy (sturdy) and does not suffer from this problem.
Its very east to start once linked to the Ophelia app and operates seamlessly. The one touch take off is awesome as I have had drones that will start to drift on take-off. This one stays exactly where it is.
The weather in Wales has been too abysmal to try out all the features but I have used it from full charge until the battery dies and I timed it at just over 24 minutes. When you consider most drones are around 10 minutes this is a big selling point (down to the more, expensive and longer lasting brushless motors apparently).
The only criticism I have is how the battery fits in the charger. If you move it, it seems to pop out.it will not actually click in place. On the other hand, the charger has 2 ports if you needed to buy another battery.
The flight is great very responsive and a lot of fun to fly.
The camera is adjustable and the 2k images eclipse any drone cameras I have had in the past.
I have used the follow me mode which works great but not had a chance to use the point plotting feature yet.
All in all amazing value for money and would highly recommend.
Also the Holy Stone customer service is 2nd to none.
After flying 2 batteries of flight time I am really thrilled with this camera quad.
Had couple of foldable drones with or without GPS and this model HS 720 2K GPS drone is hitting a sweet spot and let me tell you why…
First off it’s foldable, making this form factor appealing to bring along on travels. Has longlasting brushless motors with seperate. ESCs for each motor making it actually upgradable. Fuselage is nice and sturdy. Buttons are easily accessible for someone with bigger hands and locking mechanisms of motor arms are tight and sturdy reaching almost 5″ X-frame size when fully extended. It has a remotely controlled 1 axis gimbal of it’s 2k camera with stabilization while being able tilting the camera angle from horizontal to full vertical downward facing.
Transceiver (remote) is nice and tight with no nonsense user experience making it easy to grip in both hands thanks to foldable handles. Runs on 2xAA batteris. Has central LCD with basic telemetry like number of GPS satellites, signal strength, headless mode, signal strength of the remote and drone connection. GPS function can be turned on and off with a button on the side of the remote. Binding and drone callibration is smooth and easy.
Joysticks gimbals are nice and smooth. Phone’s locking mechanism to the remote is actually quite good.
Flying it… Wow let’s summ it up to this: really easy to fly (Hi-Lo speed) and to record video feed which you can do on an micro SD card on the drone or if you use WI-FI FPV feed over the Ophelia GPS app to your phone. In app and on the remote you can pick between MODE 1 /MODE 2 remote configuration. App has all telemetry you need to see and makes easy to activate features like Follow-Me, Vaypoint flying over POI from the map and making Orbits around you while locking the camera on the phones GPS coordinates from the app.
Downside – really slow battery charger. Would recommend them to move to XT type of plugs on batteries if they want to get access to a lot more RC quad fans and open the one thing that everyone wants :More flying time with multiple accessible batteries available in the market.
Plus side: awesome online support and one of best bangs for the buck.

I’m a big fan of holy stone drones, Usually i buy the smaller ones but this time i thought i’d treat myself to this latest offering. and boy it does not disappoint, opened the box to be greeted by a silky smooth grey carry case. once unzipped it reveals the well shaped inserts into which the drone sits.
THe HS720 is a small but substantial fordable drone and it feels very well made and solid, the 2k camera floats on a shock absorbing mechanism. comes with charger with space for a second battery should you get one. spare props and screws and a screwdriver. the controller is also well made, takes AA batteries and has a nice LCD screen with all the info you need. but…. should you need more you can follow the simple quick start guide and pair up your phone with the app. with that you can get the FPV view and a host of other features. Follow me, Circle an object and setting a way-point. all of which work seamlessly. the battery will give up to 26 minutes flight. i managed just over 20 minutes but i was pushing the drone hard to put it through its paces. this really is a game changer for holy stone. With its accurate GPS and all of its other features. this is so advanced and well made and stable that anyone could fly it. really is good enough for novices and pros alike
Sturdy robust and fun drone
I love this wee drone. I’ve been stealing my cousins drones for a few months now. So I finally decided to take the plunge and purchase my own. Hs720 comes very well presented in a sturdy case, which I must say I like as I can keep all the gear together the drone, controller and battery charger etc etc
After I had charged the battery it was just a case of waiting for the weather to break so I go flying. I could not wait so he went and done a one touch take off and landing test (see video) can’t get over how stable the drone was in windy conditions.
Drone is easy to pair and calibration is handy when you get the hang of it.
I have not tested it flying very far away as at the min the weather does not allow me to.
I have done a few RTH tests and very impressed with the feature.
The app works well on my old Samsung phone. I did have an issue with the phone popping out of the holder but it was my fault as I had not inserted it correctly.
Flying time says 26 min I have only ever been flying for about 15 min as that’s all the time I had but I would expect it to easily reach 23-25 min
I will be purchasing another battery when they become available. 5-7 hrs for a full charge. Not a deal breaker for me but the charger has the space for 2 batteries so I’ll definitely be getting another.
