I didn’t see many people saying they were using it for this specific purpose so I was weary, but it’s very clear and gives lots of space for working with a DAW. It’s also really light so it has eliminated an issue whereby my old (smaller) monitor would cause the mount to droop. Now it’s perfectly level. Very happy with it for this purpose. Some light gaming on Cities Skylines and GTAV was also enjoyable. All in all it’s very good.
Decent for the price
You get what you pay for. I ordered this as a second screen for my home office. It’s a decent size and the picture quality is fine. My only issues are that it isn’t height adjustable, and it wobbles on its stand when you’re typing/writing. Other than that, can’t complain for the price!
Good enough I bought 2
My 27″ Samsung monitor died unexpectedly. This is a secondary monitor connected to my laptop and used for work. I could use my desktop with a 32″, but I have better use for that. Temporarily I repurposed my 24″ used as a media centre display in the bedroom.
The first one of these Dell monitor became the media centre, and I soldiered on with the 24″ whilst I ordered another. The quality is perfectly fine, but what sold me was the VESA mount, so rarely seen these days. I have my secondary monitor on a floating arm, and has always been connected with add on brackets. It’s now a joy to use the VESA mount, and much tidier.
Dropped a point because the instructions are a bit naff, though it isn’t exactly rocket science to get a monitor going, is it?
Good picture quality
The monitor has excellent picture quality and screen rate. Nice to use it for both office and watching videos. I am not a fan of games, so no comments on gaming experience.
But there is one problem with the monitor. The power cable easily loses contact at the monitor plug in point, even if there is a slight shake. So if often needs to be pushed right. Hence 4 stars.
Good monito
Dell SE2722HX. Actually a pretty decent monitor for the price. Yes you could get a better screen but would cost you way more. Diminishing returns though, yes you can get faster & sharper but is going to cost a load more. For just over 100 for 27″ it is cheaper than smaller screens. Going to wait for price to drop back down & get another one. No speakers or adjustable height but otherwise alright.
It’s a smart tv and overall a great price
Bought for husband who is not well at present and installed in bedroom. Great tv to have. The only let down is the stand it’s very wobbly and the screws do not settle it to well. Rectified myself.

Perfectly good monitor for our home security system
I got this monitor for our newly installed home security system. I wanted a smaller screen as I will hardly ever be looking at it – it’s only if something happens that I might need to check the recordings of what happened.
I do have a separate monitor for my work. Personally, I would find something in the range of 20-something inches to be a bit small when I’m trying to look at spreadsheets and documents on screen. But for looking at images, this Dell monitor is perfectly fine.
The monitor arrived well packaged and in good condition. It was easy to install and integrate into the home security system (via HDMI). Everything is working just as expected. Overall, I’m pleased with this Dell monitor.
Great value display
Bought to replace a smaller, lower resolution (1366×768) monitor to enable me to work from home more effectively and it did so very well. Great having full HD without taking up too much space. Comes with a VGA cable, not an HDMI cable (or both) which is a bit of a shame but at the price I paid I can’t complain.
Fabulous monito
This fabulous monitor has absolutely transformed the way I now work from home. Having two screens is so much better on my posture and my ability to work efficiently. The screen is very clear to work with and a really good size for my study.
Rubbish
On the right screen of the mind amplified brightness for no reason. I touched the screen gently and felt that the whole right side was detached, as well as the left side only in the upper corner.This product is garbage don’t buy, I thought I would get a new one if i buy here because I didn’t want to buy a used one. I was hoping it would work properly. Now I lost money and I have to throw this garbage away.Thank you

Surprised at Dell
The monitor image quality is fine. But I should of done more research. I assumed by the Dell monitor it was replacing (I needed hdmi input) it would be the same high quality build. Very plasticky and feels cheap. The worst thing is no height adjustment. It just doesn’t look right on a standard height desk and feels like it needs lowering. It’s a different base and bracket to my old monitor, otherwise I would swap it. A bit disappointed.
Decent quality for the price
It is good quality for the price, no complaints about general performance, save that the resolution is not as a sharp as I thought it would be.
My only major complaint is that the power cable has an annoying tendency to come loose if the screen is knocked and might take a couple of attempts to re-adjust and stay in.
The base is flat so you can put things on top of it and it does not take up too much space (I regret that the base is also coloured grey – while I would have preferred black, but that is just personal taste and me not paying attention.)
Otherwise it’s fine and has done the job I needed it to do for sever months with any other major issue.

The Dell SE2416H monitor is a great monitor for the price. I got this from Amazon for 99.99 which is great value – I can see this monitor is now selling for 149.99 which is also ok value.
The whites are white, the darks are dark with good contrast and no loss of detail in the shadow or highlights and the colours looks pretty good.
The monitor is plug and play with zero fuss setting this up on my Win 10 laptop, and it comes with a little desktop app that makes it super easy to see and control the different monitor settings – but for me the default settings work perfectly out of the box with no tweaking required.
This is a mid-range monitor for the price of an entry level monitor and I would buy it again even at the new higher price.
I give this five stars for the value, it doesn’t compare to professional quality screens used for example video editing but you can expect to pay hundreds of pounds for that level of equipment – for what it’s worth this monitor is five stars for the value and excellent performance at this price point.

Worked first time and good colou
I use this as a second external monitor for standard working from home activities. Video conference, working with documents, web browser applications, that sort of thing. Worked first time out of the box with no screen config change needed with my MacBook Air and an additional HDMI lead plugged into a multiport dongle which is connected to the usb-c port on the laptop.
Great for smaller spaces
I needed a monitor to connect to a laptop for home working in a small space. This is perfect. Good size, good quality and doesn’t take up much room due to slim screen. Also tilts, which is handy. Had to buy separate HDMI cable as only comes with VGA but overall really pleased. Good value for money.
Good clear isplay
Used as an extra screen for my laptop. I find it easier to work with the larger screen sometimes and this is an almost perfect solution. I really wanted an inbuilt camera so I could use it for zoom meetings but I was not prepared to pay the higher price for the privilege. The screen itself is a good buy.
Just a good monito
It’s does everything I need it to do when working at home. Haven’t gamed on it so that is why I only gave it three stars but the picture quality on videos doesn’t disappoint.
Good quality screen for use with PC
I wasn’t sure which screen to buy but am very happy with the quality of this one. It is for use with my PC rather than gaming, but as I work on the PC every day, it helps to have a good screen.

Got this for work as I couldn’t do everything on my laptop, working from home I had to have a extra screen and this definitely helped, easy to assemble for someone not so tech like me and a great tool that helps make life a lot easier and wrk faster and more efficient.

If you want a big, high quality monitor under £100 - this is the one
A bit dubious about buying a Dell monitor, but so glad I did.
Sharpness is excellent, colour saturation, depth and black is very good and on a par with more expensive screens I have.
Set up was simple.
Video playback e.g. youtube, podcasts etc is really good, and screen size makes it easy to watch in comfort.
Only one downside, but I knew this before purchasing. You can’t fit a VESA mounted mini PC to the rear of the display. It’s a great way to hide a micro PC as well as save desk space.
But for a screen under 100 it was a great purchase.
Supplied with short HDMI cable and UK 3 pin mains cable.

Great picture, poor stand
Great brightness as it doesn’t seer your eyes out when you switch it on. Really pleasing picture. Only issue is putting it in the stand is not very elegant, basically some brute force is needed

Gaming wise, more than enough for me, clear picture and clear gaming especially from my new ps5! Brightness settings could be a bit better but it’s hardly dim, overall value for money is 10/10. Very impressed
Very good, slightly weak base
It’s a cheap monitor, it looks good and it does its job. The base is not made of the sternest stuff, however, so be careful if bumping into the table it’s sat on as it can really fall. But as long as you’re careful it’s excellent value.

Great second screen, if you don’t need audio functionality. Only downside is that the HDMI/power connectors on the screen are a bit loose and can sometimes come out too easily if adjusting screen position.
A well designed monito
We have all been brainwashed into using laptops (even when a desktop is the optimal solution). I have returned to a desktop for work and this monitor is a suitable size, has good resolution, and works well. While the current setup does not have a webcam or microphone (I use my laptop for that) the monitor may be recommended for general use.

Really Good
Brought this to replace my old 17in screen which I’ve had for over 10 years. It’s easy to set up. Picture quality is great and fantastic as a 2nd screen working from home. Price is very good.
It isn't really height adjustable
The height adjustment is just taking the monitor off its stand. It does have a tilt function though which is really helpful. The fitting of the stand is really flimsy and felt like it would fall over easily. Thankfully the desk I have it on is sturdy so stays still.
The monitor does have both VGA and HDMI fittings. After a couple of false starts it all connected nicely. Good, clear picture. I use it for work connected to a Surface Pro tablet.
A must-buy monitor, great quality and price
This is a great monitor, the quality and build are good and the stand is sturdy. I’m really happy with it and use it every working day. It gives a lovely clear picture, no blurriness and good colour and brightness control.

Decided to order 2 of these to replicate my desk at work. Using a Targus DOCK190EUZ as my docking station of choice and with my laptop I have given myself 3 screens! Increased productivity. Don’t forget to order HDMI cables if needed.
I don't use it for gaming but good for a 2nd screen.
Satisfied with this item in terms of reliability. I use it for work however and have never used it for gaming. Just a second screen for whenever I’m on my work laptop. In terms of gaming I would never use it for that as my gaming laptop screen is certainly superior anyway but it is a fine 2nd screen if I want to have twitch or the footy on whilst I am gaming.
All monitors are the same?
Like TV’s pc monitors have improved over the last 10 years and these days they are much of a muchness, for sure.
Therefore I can only comment that for the price, this is a superb monitor which is currently in use with an Amazon Renewed (HP – another bargain), producing pin sharp images and text.
What more could you ask – this is a no-brainer of a choice.

Straight out the box and it’s working perfectly, it has a really clear, bright display and the size is perfect for both gaming and work. The tilt is great for depending on your setup height, and the base is nice for setting small consoles or remotes on! Overall a nice little monitor!

Great monitor’s I have two set up next to each other that I use for work and also for gaming. They perform as expected with a good fram rate that cause no issues, the picture quality is very impressive with bright,sharp colours.
Design wise – it’s subjective, I like them and they were easy to assemble. They have 1x Hdmi and 1x VGA port
DSE – the screens tilt on all axis but the stand is lacking the function to raise and lower, which is a shame.

It's as good as dell can do
It’s Dell, so you get exactly what you want in a crummy bulky excessive product. The frame and chassis, the DIY part, the depth of the wire bays, and the settings and functions all stink, but then you get a great crisp picture. It’s very heavy, and a slightly washed out LG LED monitor I bought a few months before is very serviceable with a bigger display, slimmer form and a fraction of the weight, but seeing the two side by side shows what you’re paying for. I just wish dell could get its act together and get the form factor and quality feel of its products right (I’m very burnt by a Dell Inspiron 15 7559 I loved and used for years that had burst hinges from almost day one).
Does what I need it to do
I’m not photo or video editing or anything like that, so I don’t care whether or not it renders colours accurately. It’s my second screen in my ‘working from home’ setup and is absolutely fine for that. If you need fancy, pay for fancy. This perfectly good for reading e-mails and hosting Zoom calls.

I was under the impression from one the reviews the monitor had speakers. This is incorrect. The monitor is perfect for working on my college home learning course. I would recommend this.
Very good budget monitor for work applications
This is a well priced, well made and quite smart Dell monitor. It has good contrast and brightness ratios and sufficient resolution and refresh rate for work. The bezel is quite thin but prominent. Controls are straightforward and it includes what you need in the box. It includes only HDMI and DVI connectivity, and may not be suitable for games or high intensity graphics applications, but for a simple second monitor in a good size for work purposes, it certainly fits the bill at a good price.
Great simple monito
Excellent quality and with two HDMI inputs it’s just what I needed. Price was extremely good for the spec. Not the highest spec or biggest screen size for monitors these days but why pay more when you don’t need the features? Just great!
Good monitor, just doesn't have a VESA mounting capability
Bought 2 of these for home office use, but was surprised to find that they only have desk stands, and no VESA mounting holes. I have a double monitor desk stalk, so needed the VESA capability and returned them.
They’d have been fine on the included desk stands though, but I want my monitors higher up.

Dual HDMI allows me to use for home PC and work laptop connected at the same time – easier practicality.
Screen is good quality though can’t raise and lower height, but tilt is ok. I have no issues with video or text – all good.

Brilliant nice and clear to get it to work properly the connecting cable from the monitor to computer had to be discarded and a HDMI cable used then it was perfect.

Good quality, great price
Good design, doesn’t take up too much space on my desk. Good display as you would expect for a monitor of this size. I like that all the buttons are on the front of the monitor so there is no fiddling around the back. Having said that, if I do reach behind the back, move it or even breathe on it the power lead disconnects, so I think I might have to try another power cable. Or sticky tape.

Value for money
I was sceptical at the price but very pleasantly surprised. Excellent picture and definition. It was going to cost me 200 for a replacement screen for my all in one PC. Got this for half that price and it’s a bigger screen. A much better solution but a sad reflection in our throw away society.
Exactly what my son needed
My son needed a wider, larger screen so he can study with documents side by side and can switch to games in the evening. This Dell unit is a few years old now but it was very good to begin with and remains one of the very best at a modest price point.
Dell back up can be expected to be good although the reliability of these units suggests that it may never be needed. It was fast to set up with all necessary cables included and the packaging it came in could not be bettered for solid protection. All in all very pleased with this buy.
Got this screen for my online classes, it’s bright, sharp and looks well. Set up was simple, even though there is no HDMI included these are very cheap to buy nowadays. There are no built in speakers but that is expected for this price. This monitor is ideal for anyone looking for a cheaper solution for working from home or studying, but it’s very capable for light gaming also. I use this screen near a window and the anti-glare is great. This screen is an excellent bargain.
I’ve been homeworking since March 2020 and my work laptop is an 11 inch screen, so this was a very good value and performs perfectly as a screen extension for work.
I’ve given it 3 stars for ‘Gaming’ because I haven’t used it for gaming, so I don’t know how it would do for that, but for office working it’s absolutely spot on.
the menu system on the monitor lets you change settings to match colour tones / brightness / contrast etc to match up more closely with the screen on your laptop. I’ve recommended it to colleagues and if my other half needs a second work screen at some point, I’d have no hesitation buying anothe
This monitor is perfect for ps4/xbox gaming as it is a 60hz monitor (so not suitable for PC gaming). The 1ms response time really makes a difference and you can tell with the quick responses from the controller. The display quality is also very good, with vivid colours and a high resolution. The monitor also looks clean (see images) on the desk, with a nice looking stand and thin bezels.
The only downside would be that it if you wanted to play PC games, you would need to buy a new monitor to benefit from 120hx+ refresh rates.

Inputs are limited with just one hdmi and no USB ports, it could have a digital port instead of the VGA, Otherwise a good option for the price. It’s a very good monitor for music and video production as I am using it for.
Used a work monito
Took some time to set up and install – had difficulty in getting the right cable to link to a SP4, then real difficulty in finding the instructions to set up the TV. Why can’t you have a booklet like in the old days?!!
That said, now working very well and at the price we got it for, a decent buy.
Returns
I need to return this item but I can’t get the riser off the base on the Dell SE2216H.
Does anyone know how to detach the riser from the base?
Otherwise, it is impossible to fit the base and riser (still assembled) into the packaging.
My home Samsung think screen monitor I bought from John Lewis probably 10 years ago finally died on me during the Corona lock-down. I would normally prefer to go view a monitor before I buy it but Corona lock-down did not allow that. So I had to rely on Amazon reviews. As always you some good and some bad but in the case of this monitor the star rating were overall very positive. You can go a bit crazy comparing the technical details and worrying about the occasional bad review for just about any monitor reviewed on Amazon. There were a few others that I may have gone for if they had been in stock. They had a few flashy extras that would be fun to try. This one however seemed a safe option. It’s a good size for working from home and general PC use. I play a few PC games and I am not worried about a few microseconds on the specifications or a bit more precision on pixels.
Computer games don’t define my life so I don’t need any alleged superior game model options. This one is fine for me but if I ever have the time to get back into hard core gaming I may go for one of the ultra-flashy monitor alternatives that cost much more for probably modest advantages over this screen. In the meantime I think this is a good all-rounder. You could get bigger and flashier for more money but I am happy with this model. I have no criticisms. It lives up to the description.

Have not scored above because I am not using for gaming and I don’t know what is meant by sheerness!! All I know is that it’s a great monitor. I’m using with a Dell 7200 2in1 tablet.
I bought this screen for working from home, it is fine, works well and looks nice. The only issue is that it was supplied with a VGA cable rather than an HDMI cable, so I had to buy the HDMI cable separately (and throw away the VGA cable!). I’m really surprised that VGA cables are being supplied in 2020, they have been more or less obsolete for many years!
Great budget monito
In my opinion, Dell have made the best budget monitor for gaming. The display quality is great for anything, including gaming and it has lots of input ports on the back. I’ve enjoyed using this montior a lot and I would reccomend it if you need a budget monitor.
Bought for office use
I’m now working from home and wanted a large monitor as a second screen to hook up with my laptop. I’m very happy with this 23.6 inch screen. It’s a great size and a game-changer for my home office. Quality and build is great. Very happy.
It isn’t 4k but it’s not meant to be and costs 1/3 of the price. Has a genuine decent refresh rate with good colour and good hd resolution clarity. Menu simple if fairly basic which I personally appreciate as means less messing. Build is nice and simple. Bezel or surround isva little deeper than current trends but so marginal I really don’t notice. No pixel issues and screen surface is very nice. One thing I’d like is a swivel mount so don’t have to rotate wholr base but at that price I can’t really expect that. I’d give this a 9 out of 10 for what it is.

Wonderful size/resolution for gaming, picture quality and brightness slightly changes depending on the HDMI port I plug it into but i have no doubts it’ll work great.

Needed an HDMI-capable monitor and with few available from stock, this turned out to be a good buy with a nice bright screen. No doubt some power-users would find fault with it but for the money it’s doing a decent job for me.

I brought this for my son as a birthday present to play on the PS4. Very easy to set up with picture quality being perfect. My only issue with this monitor is that it does not come with an audio output. The only alternative is too listen to the gaming audio via headset connected to the PS4. But overall good monitor for the money and would recommend.

Arrived quickly and well packaged. Screen quality is great, not used to game, but I like the widescreen for Excel type work.
It only comes with a VGA cable, not HMDI
What you'd expect from Dell. Great product just missing a minor feature.
Good product what you’d expect from Dell this being said it doesn’t have wall mounting points. Consider other well know brands for this feature. Great desktop screen for home office use.
Perfect used as monitor for laptop
I bought this screen to use as a monitor for my laptop as wanted to have a larger display to replicate what I have at the office. It was so simple to connect using HDMI cable and the quality of the display has made life much easier working from home on documents and also for WebEx and Zoom meetings. Perfect.
As with many people at the moment I am doing a lot more working from home. I did have a second monitor which was an old HP flat screen that was square! High time that I upgraded to a more modern wide screen display.
After much searching I found this one which ticked the boxes for me on price and connectivity options (VGA, HDMI x2, and also a quarter inch headphone jack socket). It comes with a HDMI cable too.
It arrived in a branded Dell box on show (ie not in plain wrapping). The packaging was robust and the monitor well protected in transit. After unpacking I hooked it up to the Surface pro laptop and it recognised it straight away.
I can’t comment on the device for gaming, but as a working from home secondary screen it’s perfect. Why I never bought one sooner I will never know.
I bought this for my youngest son to use with his Nintendo Switch and as the console only goes to a max of 60hz this was perfect. He also says it’s improved his game no end due to the superfast response time.
Colours look great (even for a TN panel) and viewing angles are good too.

Working from home due to Covid-19 so urgently needed a larger screen to be able to work full days on my tiny screened Surface Book.
VERY quick delivery, which was brilliant!!!
Draw back was that unable to use the monitor when it arrived.
Connected it to surface book (HDMI – USBC) AND Surface Pro 4 (VGA through StarTech) and get same issue (see photo)
Looks like damaged screen as a third of it is stuffed up on both devices.
Seeking return and replacement now. Lets seek how this goes . . . 🙁

Replacement (AND working) monitor received within a couple of days.
1 star changed to max – replacement montor is as advised/works great AND because of the way Amazon dealt so professionally with the damaged monitor.
Good for office work when working from home
Great screen and welcome addition to helping me work from home. The original order got delivered to a ‘receptionist’ and I was unable to find out where this actually went. After several attempts at contacting Amazon a replacement order was done. This arrrived safe and sound this time and is a great product. Clear and sharp picture.
Good value for money and good quality monito
Very pleased with this monitor. Bought it for lockdown working at home and was pleased to get a quality Dell monitor for a reasonable price.
As others have said it ought to be shipped with a HDMI cable as standard as this wasn’t clear in the product description. Fortunately I read other reviews so wasn’t personally caught out.

I’ve always found Dell a great make, no change here. A great monitor for the price. It doesnt come with HDMI lead though (should do really in this day and age)
An excellent monitor for the price I needed something reasonably priced and quick delivery due to having to work from home, this fitted the bill perfectly. It’s a shame it doesn’t have internal speakers but apart from that an excellent product.
Great big screen with clear display, absolutely love it. I purchased it for working from home and it is exactly what I needed. I shopped around a lot before deciding on this one and I am not disappointed. Great value for money too! It only comes with a VGA cable but there is both a VGA and HDMI connection in the back. You can buy a cheap VGA to HDMI adaptor to get over this if you don’t have a spare HDMI cable.
Have now been using this 10 weeks and it’s great, I don’t think you will find as good a screen for the price. Considering buying another one to have the dual screen!
This monitor has saved my neck and back muscles while I’ve been forced to work from home during covid-19. The tilt feature in the monitor is outstanding. The monitor build is very good and nothing about it feels cheap at all. The screen is bright, large and very clear. This monitor was well worth the 99 and I would buy again. It has made me much more productive while working from home. My only complaint is the power cable is too short and I am having to stretch it a bit too far so the power to the monitor keeps getting lost if I hit the wire. I have fixed this with an extension cable but Dell should make this power cord longer.

With the shortage of monitors about at the moment this came up at a great price. I’m really happy with it.
Could do with a HDMI cable as one isn’t supplied but that’s me being picky.
Good, but no VESA fitting.
Great monitor for general use. But it does not have a VESS fitting to enable fitting on wall/desk mounts so I sent mine back. Usual efficient Amazon service. Otherwise, this is a great monitor.
All-round improvement on my previous monitor (20″ HP). More pixels and active sync is a must. I no longer need to maximize YouTube videos to view them properly. Really impressed with and performance at this price point. I wouldn’t recommend anything bigger if using sat at a desktop. There is no height adjustment, which isn’t a problem for me. Games look really great too, with a bunch of other setups for movies, etc, just like your telly. Definitely recommend. Why spend more?
Bought as a budget gaming monitor. Works really well. Easy setup, nice simple menu, good colour and brightness. Parents bought one as well based off of this one’s impression. Only gripe is it would have been nice if it were height-adjustable, but nothing to mark it down on. Would recommend, regardless of use.

I have used this monitor for more than 3 months and it is one of the best I have ever made in my lifetime!!
The screen is so big and spacious, it makes doing my 2D animations, spreadsheets and otehr applications so much easier to use. And its very easy to adjust the brightness as well, in fact, its easier to change compared to my old monitor which unfortunately went faulty, but hey, this monitor rocks.
And yes, I use this for gaming and its soooooo good!
