No nuisance calls since I bought it.
The instructions were a bit difficult to get my head round but once I did it was fine and is very similar to my previous BT phone. I bought this phone as we’ve had loads of nuisance calls over the last few months. I think it must be working well because I receive calls from the people whose numbers I entered onto the phone but haven’t had any nuisance calls since I bought it. I was a bit worried because I read some reviews saying the sound is poor but that has not been my experience, it’s very clear and is an excellent phone. The only little niggle I have is the base, which could be a bit heavier, I’ve knocked it over a couple of times
I bought these three phones for my elderly mother who has had money stolen over the telephone repeatedly- these phones are fantastic! We changed the landline number with the help of her provider and then with the support of fantastic customer services team at BT were able to input all Mums friends and relatives telephone numbers so that all the scam/ nuisance callers are blocked. Each week we check the call log and any unidentifiable numbers can be permanently blocked too. The screen is B&W which mum finds very easy to read and the callers name is clearly displayed for her to feel reassured that the caller is a friend/ family- I would highly recommend this phone and you don’t need to be a BT customer to buy/ use
Fantastic phones.
These phones are brilliant, I would definitely recommend buying these if you are having problems with scam callers as we were. If numbers are not in your phone book, anyone ringing has to give their names, if you don’t want to accept the call you don’t have to.
We haven’t had one scam call come through all the few months we have had them.

Fabulous! I’ve always received lots of nuisance calls and haven’t had a single one since using this phone. You can see that someone has tried to get through, but they have been blocked. However, family and friends can still call through has usual. Should have got one years ago!!! Thoroughly recommended.
BT Advanced Cordless.
I have used BT phones for the past 50 years. However, maybe age, but I found this set of 4 complicated to get to grips with. I felt these were a little more advanced than what I was looking for and a more useful tool for businesses. Maybe in time I will get used to them but had I known I would have bought the older type. I am sure that they are really useful for busy business people, but, over developed for my age group. Also because of lockdown impossible to get in touch with you easily for other problem..
BT phones
Replacement for earlier phone, which developed a fault which appeared when setting up new model! Turned out to be a line fault outside not phones!! But nice new phones good to have, easy to setup down side being transferring contacts from old phone to new! Bluetooth would save a lot of time!

the set up is relatively straightforward – my only concern is that the outgoing call volume can not be adjusted, so those recieving calls may need to increase their own telephone volume settings

Good size handsets. Sound quality not as good as previous Panasonic system. Mono screen.
Unwanted number blocking feature seems excellent, especially when combined with caller screening feature. Can block up to 1000 numbers.
Cut out nuisance calls
Early days so I cannot comment on reliability but I am very happy with the BT Advanced cordless phones. All nuisance calls have been cut out as unless the number has been entered by me, all callers have to give their name and this eliminates all recorded message calls. The phones were straightforward to assemble and work well in practice and the ability to switch to “hands free” ensures that those with hearing problems can hear everything. On the basis of my experience with the phones, I can recommend them.
Added protection from nuisance calls
Prior to the purchase of this phone we were inundated with nuisance callers and potential scammers. Setting up this phone has virtually stopped this type of call. You need to have caller ID included in your contract but for me that was a small price to pay to stop all the nuisance calls.

Simply great blocks 100% of the annoying calls only lets through who you want …do have to enter all friends family numbers ..any others have to announce them selves and you accept reject or add to block list with 1 button recommended them

I was getting about five nuisance calls per day, but haven’t had one since I plugged these phones in and turned on the do not disturb feature.
Sounds
Overall a nice looking telephone, bought as thought my old ones didn’t work…. it was actually a problem with but themselves.
Love the call blocker, easy to use easy to put all your phone numbers in, the only drawback I can find is the sound quality, when on loud speaker, it’s not all that loud, could do with being a few octaves higher.
Having said that it does the job.
Not as good as previous version of same phone.
I like the blocking of ‘rubbish’ calls. Compared with previous phone (same make just earlier version), this one doesn’t seem to bleep when there’s a message to be picked up. It flashes but I don’t see it easily .. & have missed messages. Also the base is lighter than the previous one so it’s easier for phone to fall off. In other words, my previous set up was better (but only 3 years old when it stopped functioning!!
They work well
These phones are very good they keep you safe from the scumbags of this world. This my third set of BT phones and this time l bought the quad set. The reason for this is that l need 3 phones but l find that one always fails quite quickly leaving me phone short. I hope this set will last longer as l now have one spare.
The call blocking feature
The phone is neat. Easy to set up following the guidance provided and works brilliantly at blocking cold callers and nuisance calls. Couldn’t be happier. There’s satisfaction in knowing when the phone rings twice and then no call comes through you’ve managed to block another one!! Perfect. Great value for money too.

Good Blocke
I bought this phone to block all the incoming calls and it does as it says. I think the phone is a good purchase and I would pay any type of price for one of them. I cannot seem to find anything wrong with it.
Useful only adding data once
The sound quality is marked at 3* as it’s good on the ringing tones but there are times when the volume for speech could be higher. I suspect this is because it’s more than adequate for those who manufacture and test the product but not necessarily so for the user.
Finally! An end to unwanted, nuisance phone calls!
I was sick and tired of getting unwanted, unsolicited calls every day. Two or three a day was perfectly usual – sometimes it could be five or six. I had tried registering with the call barring service, but pesky, determined companies would always find a way around this. This phone has solved all of those problems and I no longer get any unsolicited calls.
I was so impressed I also got one for my elderly mother, who was worried about scammers calling her. Now she also has peace of mind.
Nuisance calls aside the phone scores well for its other attributes too. There is a good level of capacity on the answering machine and for entries in the phone book. Call clarity is also very good, which is, after all, the key purpose of this piece of equipment, but one that is often overlooked by manufacturers who get carried away with the desire to offer ever increasing amounts of other features.
All in all a very good cordless phone / answering machine combo that does its job well … and most importantly – no more unwanted calls!
I bought this phone as we were sick of receiving cold calls and nuisance calls. My son set it up so I can’t comment on that aspect of it although he said it was pretty straightforward.
All I know is it works! We’ve only had the phone for a few weeks but so far so good…. no annoying calls! It’s stylish to look at and the ring volume is adjustable so I can have it louder for my deaf ears! Some people have commented on poor sound quality but I would say it’s okay really. Being hard of hearing I always struggle to understand but this phone is clearer than the old one so that’s a plus for me.
All in all we’re very happy with the phone and the new found peace and quiet!

A superb system for blocking nuisance calls, far better than relying on BT’s blacklist facility. We’ve not had a nuisance call since installing the phones. My only criticisms are that the sound is rather tinny in conversations and the instruction manual needs an index.
Excellent cordless phone.
Has all the features we wanted – call blocking is really good. . Having four handsets is a real advantage. Easy to set up e.g. phone list for friends and in our opinion excellent value for money.

Liked that you only have to enter the phone numbers once, Call blocking works well although you need to get all your allowed callers into the phone book to make best use of it. Phones sit a little to upright in the base making the display difficult to raed from a standing position, otherwise very happy with these phones.
I was going to return because we could not get the phones to work, I had started the process but we then found there was a fault on the line and it had nothing to do with the phones. I am pleased with all the features call blocking, caller Id and many more. Very easy to set up and unlike my old bat set you are able to add info to one handset and have it set up on all. I am really pleased with the set and when searching for another set (when I was going to return) the price was 30 + cheaper. I would recommend.
Comfortable, stylish and easy to use
BT (in error) advised line issues were internal – fault we had also suggested our current handsets may now be faulty.
So ended up replacing phone box and phone handsets (having also checked internal cabling) BT found the line fault was external – so we did not need to purchase this handset.
However, on using (once line rectified) found to be easy to use, comfortable and clear sound. We have since reverted to our old hand set primarily because there is nothing wrong with them and also the answer machine we prefer as you can easily see missed calls on the base unit (which may just be our preference.
Quite easy to set up and no failures in operation. Call blocker very effective.
Updated, but broadly similar replacement for an earlier BT system which was gradually expiring ( handsets failing) after 5 years or so. Sound quality is mostly OK but can fade when on a call, prompting comment from the other caller about difficulty in hearing/understanding. This is quite distinct from the occasional bad lines you would get with any phone and suggests a weakness in the system. I did not have this problem with its predecessor so can tentatively rule out connection issues.
Good set of telephones
They did the job, although a little bit of time setting them up with numbers from previous ‘phones. I think that it is about time with today’s technology and the same make that there should be an easy way of transferring stored numbers as with some “”same make” mobiles. (This would make a good selling point).
Blocks those nuisance calls you couldn’t get rid of, for ages. It changed my life! Honestly!
I was bombarded with nuisance calls (even if my number was not public). Sometimes at 4 am!
Even if I’ve registered for TPS they still called me and ignored the TPS service. And when i started losing my patience with nuisance callers, at times, it felt like they were passing my number to colleagues just to annoy me on purpose…I’ve then enquired if I could change my number and my operator advised me to buy one of these phones. The adviser said that the nuisance callers will probably call the new number too…because they have computer generated software, and the only way around it was buying a blocking phone.
When someone makes the call, she/he needs to announce herself/himself and it’s normally the nuisance software that does that automatically. However, because their software is not able to push buttons as advised, their calls won’t go through.
And if the nuisance caller calls himself, he is then told to announce himself, and they give up before making the call.
I’m really happy, no more nuisance calls since I’ve bought this.
The only downside is that you need to make sure you press the right button when you get a phone call announced, otherwise you refuse the caller and it goes into voicemail.
Stop spam calls and excellent child friendly locks
Wow what I can say about the Call blocking feature! Now zero spam calls and get calls that I want to get.
Also excellent child friendly features such as you can put a pin on the device to stop allowing certain type of calls (or all calls) to be made unless you enter code that you set.

Ok Dont use most of the features Ring tones a bit Wishey Washy but battery life good and cant complain about the range. These replaced a 15 year old binatone set, cant say any better but I had already sent back two other makes of phone as they were rubbish so these are best I suppose

Good for using in 3 different rooms however the answer machine sometimes freezes If you pick up the phone when someone is leaving a message making the answer machine unusable until you turn the power off and restart it which is not good for my elderly mum who does not understand technology and Is sometimes on her ow
Call Blocking really works!
Like many of you, I have been pestered by scam callers and dodgy Microsoft engineers telling me my computer has been infected. Getting fed up with swearing at these criminals, I decided to buy this phone system. It’s excellent. From getting at least 1 call every single day, for weeks on end, I haven’t had 1 dodgy call since purchase, so I’m delighted.
I found the initial set up straightforward however, there are a small number of queries I was unable to find the answer to. I’ve dropped BT an email for advice and have been ignored; shame eh?
Over all, a first class product that works well.

BOUGHT THE TRIPLE SYSTEM. GOOD SOUND. EASY TO INPUT YOUR INFORMATION AND TO SET UP. JUST FIND IT’S NOT AS EASY TO READ AS MY PREVIOUS BT TRIPLE SYSTEM EVEN THOUGH I’VE GOT IT ON DARKEST PRINT OPTION. MY PARTNER HAS EYE PROBLEMS, SO FROM THAT PERSPECTIVE IT’S A BIT FRUSTRATING. APART FROM THAT I’M HAPPY!
Tidy unit, seems to be pretty good...
Seems to be perfectly good telephone – just had it about a week now. Follow the instruction booklet and it should set up easy enough. Tidy unit, phone stands well on the base. It has call blocking so new callers have to say who they are and you get to decide whether to allow, block or just let it go to ansaphone – hopefully that’ll stop any nuisance callers!

AMAZON I requested a return because of faulty goods, would not charge. I left the units on charge for a while and they charged uo OK. I informed the supplier of this change and withdrew my request to return the goods.

If your plagued by nuisance phone calls these are what you need !!
I had been bombarded by nuisance calls for months, mostly from similar numbers, then a few weeks ago I had 14 calls between 8am and mid-day, enough was enough, I did a few hours research and decided on these phones, they are well worth the money and are really effective, if you are getting calls from the same std but different numbers as was I, you can block that particular std code so nothing comes through, or just press the red block button if it’s a different std, if it’s a number that’s with held or private caller they have to identify themselves before call is allowed through, sound quality is not 5 stars but not worth complaining about, I really can’t recommend these phones enough. peace and quiet at last.
Easy to block unwanted calls
I set the phone up yesterday following the instructions in the small, but comprehensive, booklet that arrived in the package. Although I bought the phone in the UK, I wanted to use it in France. The main reason for buying this model was to try and block the endless unsolicited calls that we receive each day. I was a bit nervous that after spending the money on the purchase it would not work in France. To my delight it works perfectly! It took a time to fill in the directory because we have a lot of contacts, but it was only necessary to do it once on one of the handsets. The sound seems ok and the speaker is good. However the best surprise was the call blocking. We received two calls before 0900 this morning and I could block them so easily. The system is great.

love the fact that you can block nuisance calls. I have listed all my contacts, friends and family into the contact list, this was a bit tedious but well worth doing so when they ring, it announces their name, and shows their name in the window on the handset. Other calls coming through notify me to accept or not, if a scam call you can just press the block button and that number cannot ring again.. I do have 2 people in my contacts who are ex-directory, they were confused what to do to follow instructions, but now they have got the hang of it. Since purchasing this set of phones we haven’t had one nuisance call. The handsets are neat, they show the time, and shows how many calls have come through, and you can view all of those calls by number etc.
the answer machine works well, it records your message going out, and takes a message from a caller if you are unable to pick up. Having said that, the phones only ring 4 times before the answer machine kicks in, I wished that was a bit longer.
Peace at Last!
After months of nuisance calls or no one at the other end, I have found the solution and I would recommend this phone to anyone who is fed up with all this cold calling.
I bought the trio set and I like the look and the feel of the handset. The sound quality is very good indeed and it is extremely easy to set up.
I set the date and time, spent a while adding all my ‘wanted’ numbers then sat back and enjoyed the peace in the knowledge that if my phone rings, it is someone I want to talk to. Bliss!
I would definitely recommend this phone.

Lots of functions to use and improve the way you organise your phone calls. Or you can use just 1 or 2 simple options if you want.
Good length of wiring for the plug in cradles/chargers.
Easy set up and clear instructions
Old landline phone cables and extra connections were interfering with WiFi, but now just plug master cradle straight into your internet socket. technical terminology not my speciality!
Decent quality brilliant call blocking
We love its call blocking feature, though resent having to pay to stop an invasive nuisance that no phone user wanted, ever.
The build quality is decent as is the sound, and the monochrome screen is fine – the Panasonic set that we had did have colour screens but the definition of the text on the BT phone is crisper. I would have liked an option to change the size of the text.
Some have complained about poor sound quality but the sound on ours are quite acceptable. There is a volume control on the answer machine which can be turned up until it distorts so maybe a play about with the options on the extensive (exhaustive) menus would help.
To get the best from the call blocking technology you have to laboriously enter all your contacts in to the phone, which thankfully syncs with all the other handsets. Its only to do once but it took over an hour swapping them from a mobiles contact list
To sum up, I thinks its an OK phone with the killer feature of configurable call blocking.

We were getting a incredible amount of sales and nuisance calls, our old phones needed updating, so we searched Amazon and found the BT pair of nuisance blocking phones. They are brilliant ever since we plugged them in we have not been bothered at all, they are stylish to and at a reasonable price.

Basic but very functional.
Easy to set up and use. I can go back and block calls shown on the list after I’ve checked on them (one was actually listed on a checking website as ‘dangerous’!) Basic design and appearance but I prefer functionality over appearance.
Would have given five stars but the bases are far too flimsy and light. Had to stick them down with blu tack to stop them flying off the hall and bedroom tables at the slightest touch. Very irritating (and hoping blu tack doesn’t mark the polished surfaces!)
Also need to cover the light on the base of my bedside table phone as it’s bright blue and stops me from going to sleep. Why does it even need a light?

Great to finally be able to cut out nuisance calls. Simple to use. Would recommend to anyone who does not want to waste their time will annoying sales calls and scam callers.
Although I’ve not had this BT DECT phone Triple Pack kit for very long, it was easy to set up, thus enabling me to have it up and running quickly. One excellent feature is that personal phone book entries are stored on the base station. So having entered one’s contact list once, the information can be accessed by all three handsets, unlike my previous phone set, where contact information had to be entered on each individual handset. Sound quality ringer volume and range all seem more than adequate, so very pleased with this purchase so far.
Not one nuisance call - this really works!
Bought this for my Mother, who is 78, as she was receiving too many nuisance calls. Easy to install and input all her numbers which will then only allow these calls through and shows the name of the caller on the screen. Any numbers not on the list will be screened and asked to announce yourself and allow you to accept or decline the call. Not one nuisance call received!!!

Purchased to replace an existing wireless handset which had become faulty after many years use.
Simple setup and use, as you would expect. Adding contacts is easy and straightforward, as is searching, retrieving and updating contacts.
Haven’t used the block button as yet, but will thoroughly enjoy executing the “The Button of Power” ;))
A great gain is the fact all contacts are locally saved, thus available to all handsets.

This was easy to set up. It obviously takes time adding the numbers of people you want to be able to contact you.
It stopped 35 nuisance calls in one week. If its someone that isnt on the list it rings giving the name they have said and then you can either answer or ignore. If you dont answer they get the chance to leave a message.
Had these for three weeks and thought time to pass on the good news, they work and stop cold calls.
After programming (easily done using menu) the machine to answer calls and ask the caller to give their name prior to you accepting the call. Have also blocked international numbers.
I assume it’s the fact they get the BT message that the phone is part of BT blocking service (I am not with BT so free) have to say their name and press the hash key to get you to accept their call, they give up gives you time to press BLOCK which on the phone, and gives you great pleasure.
Once you programme your friends and relatives into phone, they get straight through, without the message.
Would highly recommend these for blocking nuisance calls, the phones themselves are functional and do the job.

Originally, I purchased this system about 6 months ago.
Unfortunately, it developed a fault with its electronics. Completed a 5-minute routine with BT Faults who confirmed the fault status and issued a fault code reference. Once this was passed on to Amazon a replacement system was despatched immediately and upon receipt was installed and the faulty unit returned afterwards. A little inconvenience , yes, but the service received from both BT and Amazon was great. Basically, summing up what customer service is all about!
It is when things go wrong that companies show their mettle. so both BT and Amazon have excelled!

How i long for the calls I once had, I haven’t been left millions, I haven’t had my bank card stopped, my internet isn’t about to be cut off, my windows doesn’t need urgent attention.
I haven’t talked (or shouted abuse at) a con merchant in over a week, silence is golden. Thank you Blocky phone and may you keep the scum at bay for a long time to come
Great Call Blocking
I bought these phones for the Truecall call blocking / screening feature. It has worked faultlessly, and I have no calls – yes absolutely no calls in about 3 weeks – from people asking me about motoring accidents, telling me my ISP is about to cut me off, etc. It does take time to enter your known numbers into the phonebook, though this would be the case with most new phones; the next up in the BT range I think allows you to imports a contact list. The only slight grumble I have is that they are not very stable standing on a flat surface.
It's an ok phone
These phones are good overall. Took a while to put all phone numbers in, as it advises in the instructions to install that if numbers aren’t programmed then calls will not be put through automatically. After saying this, I have still received nuisance phone calls and I have not had any phone calls screened as far as I am aware. So not too sure on security of this phone system or not. That is why I have only given it 4 stars. Volume on ringing is not very loud and can be missed if there is other noises going on in the house. Can’t say this phone is any better than other phones on the market.
Great phones and good call blocking
I am very happy with my purchase and like that I could set up the numbers from the master phone for all handsets. It took a bit of time to set up but I finally got there. I had not had call blocking and took a bit of time to get used to it BUT no nuisance calls since. It is a shame BT charge extra to see who is phoning (you would not need this feature otherwise) especially when all mobile phones provide this for free.
When callers ring me, they do have to say their name even if on my contact list and this is a bit annoying for them – especially if we are out. They look good and I think good value for money
No fiddling about getting the AAA batteries out of their wrapper and into the phone here. They are pre-installed and all that is needed is a pull on a paper tab protruding from the battery cover and away you go, why can’t everyone do this. After that it’s pretty plain sailing in setting up the menus, ringer volume and filling up the phone book with contacts.. The handset feels nice to hold and has a premium feel to it, not bad for the price.
I haven’t used the nuisance call blocker or the answer phone as TalkTalk provide both those services.
There is one very annoying thing about these phones though and that is the speed of access to the calls list and phonebook. It seems to take forever for the memory to respond compared to my previous handsets, it’s only seconds but feels longer.
All in all though not bad for the price and cordless phones I am happy to recommended.
For years I have tried in vain to block unwanted sales calls, now with the BT Advanced phone it’s a reality. Since installing the phones (5 minutes) instead of receiving 10 calls a day the only calls I get now are people I want to talk to. I highly recommend this product, it’s one that does exactly what it claims to.
Easy to install, work well
They are fine, however I dislike the fact that you have to press the green button to answer a call even when you pick up the phone from the dock. Easy to install, worked first time…….no swearing!
After mentioning to my granddaughter about the amount of cold calls we were having she wanted us to get one of these phones – so she researched and found this model. It has definitely giving us and our family reassurance of who is calling us. Once all your contact numbers are in the phone, only those can ring through on the phone without the blocker kicking in – the caller ID display is also very handy! My granddaughter selected all unknown calls to be diverted to us to choose whether to accept or not. We have also blocked number of calls too so these numbers don’t even bother us and will automatically be rejected. Only down side is sound is a bit tinny but makes up with the peace we now get. The screen is clear to see and answering machine easy to use. Very happy with product.
No more nuisance calls !!!
The phone and answering machine are compact and elegant,more stylish than previous models. It was very easy to set up even for a technophobe like me. It is a relief to be free of unsolicitated calls and the anxiety they may generate. The only slight problem is the fact that the green button has to be pressed when answering a call but I’m used to that now. All in all an excellent product.
Fab phone for ensuring peace and quiet from annoying phone calls
I had this phone before and when it broke opted for a phone that supposedly blocked calls – but not all. So I switched back to this phone and ALL cold calls have stopped. Highly recommended for those of you who are sick of scam and cold calls. Just set it to block calls, add the numbers you do wish to receive, and peace returns to the house. It also comes with an answerphone facility.

Had to purchase new phones wasn’t sure what to get. Read some of the reviews and thought Id try this. Very pleased with the phones, easy to set up good sound. And the answer machine is as clear as a bell unlike our old one. Would definitely recommend it.

my first thoughts were a good buy, but l found the block feature too complicated ld never anyone again if they had this system on there phone, the sound quality is tinny I am not impressed.
An excellent set of phones and well worth the money.
These are the best phones that I have purchased for a very long time. I purchased these to stop the amount of cold calling/ crank phone calls that my elderly mother receives every day. They take a little bit of setting up to put every ones numbers in that you don’t mind receiving but after that the nuisance calls stop. Now the phone rings once and then the caller has to announce themselves, which just stops them getting through to you. Superb and i am now getting a set for myself.
No gain without (small) pain!
Quick to set up, although it’s a little bit of a pain to transfer all of your contact numbers, one by one, from the old phone!
Having said that, the benefits outweigh the small pain as the facility for blocking the daily round of nuisance calls is well worth it.
It is my second set of phones with a call blocking feature and I wouldn’t be without!
Does what I wanted it to do - and that was enough
I had a perfectly good pair of cordless BT phones – perhaps more expensive than these when purchased – but decided to replace them solely because of this phone’s call-blocking facility. I had tried stand-alone blockers, but struggled to get them to work (maybe my Virgin line, maybe the age of my previous phone) and receiving as many as a dozen nuisance calls daily was really getting me down so much I’d contemplated cancelling my landline (but when you’re on a “package”, it’s often a more expensive option). It’s done everything I wanted it to – easy to set up and allow those calls you want to receive, all others intercepted. You can see the failed calls – and decide whether to block the numbers forever or to allow them in the future. Peace now reigns once more! Just a couple of minor issues. First is using at any significant distance – or at a wall’s separation – from the base, when the phone begins to search, but I’m happy to live with that. Second was that the small blue light on the second unit was unacceptably bright on my bedside table, illuminating the room – easily solved with a small piece of black insulating tape. If you’re wanting to tackle a similar problem, at a reasonable price, I’d recommend.

This clever phone will block all nuisance call with a simple push button on the handset, once the call has been identified a an unwanted sales call or a scammer just activate the blocking button and that caller will never get through to you again when using the number in the blocked call system.

One of the charging cradles didn’t work but when this was speedily replaced by Amazon I was delighted with this set of phones. Sound quality could better but they do what it says on the tin. Wonderful to receive no scam calls since I purchased these.
Stopped Cold Calls Stone Dead
Brilliant little gadget. I have been experiencing loads of these wretched intrusive cold calls .sometimes up to 9 or 10 a day. Being in France I tried Bloctel and it did not stop the problem. Eventually I found this phone to be the complete solution.
It is absolutely brilliant and has stopped all the cold calls stone dead. It is not the quickest thing to set up as one ideally needs to type in the allowed numbers which takes a little time. However one doesn’t need to do everyone’s number. You get the chance to save a new incoming call as a contact laterand if someone doesn’t get through they can always use email. Basically for a non registered number the caller is invited to state their name. If they do this then your phone rings and you get the option to accept or reject the call. As to date none of the cold callers have left their name they don’t get put through and the phone does not ring. You can see who has phoned at any stage on the callers list.
I have Orange and it works fine on their setup.
I was not impressed with the batteries it came with and replaced them with some rechargeable ones I had here.

Up until recently, and despite being on the telephone preference service, I was getting an increasing number of PPI/Car Accident/problem with my internet type of calls, up to eight or so a day. As a widower with two teenagers it is important that I answer calls as it could be the kids with a problem and these fake calls were becoming increasingly more sophisticated using landline numbers that change (rendering 1572 useless as you have to add each one); they even now use mobile numbers so it looks like a genuine caller!! So frustrating. After a recommendation from a friend I purchased one of these and I’ve not had a SINGLE call dodgy call in over a month. It blocked one within 10 minutes of me plugging it in 🙂 so satisfying. Yep the programming would take a little time (if you have lots of friends) but absolutely worth it. I wish I’d bought one of these years ago – way better than TPS as it actually works. If you’re thinking about this just don’t hesitate – do it!!! :). In a strange way I now actually look forward to seeing how many calls it’s blocked. Very very very happy….
Good features but not suitable for all
These phones look good and have good features. We bought them for an elderly relative who has poor sight thinking that the screen would be clearer. Unfortunately, though the buttons were large, the writing on the screen was too small for it to be of use and we had to return it and choose another model.
Bought these then looked at previous reviews and nearly cancelled.So glad I didn’t as they are superb.
Sound quality excellent and provided filters used the internet is in no way effected.
Admittedly it takes time to load all personal contacts but once done simply set the system for any unrecognised numbers to announce and hey presto no more unwanted calls.

No more spam calls
Bought these as we were sick and tired of spam calls, if 1 slips through then we just press the block button and they get cut off straight away.
I have to press the call button to make the sound louder.
The speed dial only puts in numbers so unless you know everyones number by heart not great.
I bought this to replace the existing handsets for two reasons – 1, low volume and 2, call blocking facility. Firstly, you need to activate the caller ID function if you have a BT line (it took 15 minutes for it to activate and cost nothing). Once done, you can program the handset with all the numbers of the people you love (or the ones you don’t but can’t avoid, like a mother-in-law.) Then, when any of them call, they come straight through as normal (and the handset displays the whom) and you can answer (or not…….). For anyone else, they get told to say who they are and then the phone rings with a “xxxx is calling, press …… to take, ….. to answerphone or ….. to block (or something).” That way you can filter the annoying people or – and best yet – not ONE single call centre call has come through. No “Your phone liine may be cut off”, no “Microsoft here to clean your Windows” – NONE. So………good job……… well, except the mother-in-law.
Nuisance call blocking Phone BT advanced.
The phones come complete with answer phone and are well designed and easy to hold. There is an instruction booklet that looks quite complicated but is reasonably easy to navigate, well it was for my daughter who took charge of the installation.
I am really impressed as the phone blocks every number that isn’t in your allowed list but does allow a caller to leave a message which you can allow once or add to your allowed list or indeed block. We used to receive up to 7 nuisance calls per day but none since installing this phone. A top class product..
I can’t go into to much detail about these phones as they do so much . But be assured everything in the description is one hundred percent accurate . I haven’t noticed some of the criticism in some reviews about the volume, and my hearing is suffering from old age and years of abuse on shooting ranges in the army. I found that the volume is fine. A very happy purchase.
A must have in the world of nuisance calls
Great for stopping those nuisance calls so the only people that can get through are calls in your phone but. Numbers that are not stored in your phone have the opportunity to leave a message therefore, you can return the call if you wish. The other great thing is that if the number isn’t stored in your phone, you’re phone doesn’t ring, Brillia
Only just received these ‘phones and spent a long time putting in the contacts – thank goodness it is only once and not on every unit. Unrecognised call shown on the call register within a couple of hours, too bad for them as our phone did not ring, so we were not troubled. Another non recognised number later when we were out. Caller did as bidden and left a message. Quality of playback far superior to previous set-up. Sofar, so very good.
Totally solid reliable and great sound quality/volume. Easy to use and easy to store numbers for quick use. We didnt wAnt everyone to have to give their name to be vetted before connections so just like the easy to understand manual said we set our code to 0000 ( i recommend) and then turned it off. Recorfing answerphone message is easy, good range if basic rimg tones. Nice big numbers to press and big screen to view, seriuosly this is solid easy and reliable
Excellent phone.
This is an improvement on the previous Advanced phone as it now has a big, red blocker button which cuts an unwanted call immediately. The call blocking works well and we don’t get a single unwanted call….they still call but get discouraged without us doing anything. OK, slightly complicated to set things up but you soon get the hang. Nice that the two handsets are linked and adding or changing numbers on one will automatically make the change on the other.
The phones are well made with a clear and easy to see display. Very easy to set up. Adding contacts is easy, a choice of 5 ring tones which is useful. A feature which is very useful is the answering machine and the ability to block nuisance calls. the phones have other features which have not yet been used but based on what I already know, should be easy to set up/use. Overall great value for the price paid. Well pleased
I bought this to replace an old BT phone that could only block up to 10 numbers. This one blocks up to 1000! The phone was simple to set up, the only part of the instructions that were a bit of a chore was the “custom” phone setting, but I am not using that. All callers in my contacts list get through fine, all others have to go through the screening process. I am of the opinion that if any caller is not willing to go through the screening procedure, then their call was not important to me anyway. Anyone who needs to speak to me will put up with being “screened”. All the numbers that I have added to the “blocked” list appear to be being blocked (they do show up in the missed calls list so you know what is going on). Since putting this phone into use I have not had one nuisance call, and I used to get several every week. The sound quality on the answering machine is not great, however it is legible. Be prepared to trawl through loads of ring tones to find the ones you want to use (there are separate tones for the handset and the base). No problems encountered so far.
Good quality phone at a reasonable price with excellent call blocking features
Really does block those nuisance calls – not a single one compared to several a day before I installed this phone. I used the custom block option but even though I have an international number in my phone book, International call blocking blocks this number. However the custom call blocking option provides several blocking options one of which is “Announce” which requires an International caller to state their name before the call is put through the phone then tells me who is calling. This feature is enough to put off the unwanted callers. As far as the caller is concerned the phone aapears to be ringing for longer than at the receiver which I assume is while the software checks the database to determine which calls to let through. Very please with this phone.
These phones looks smart, sound quality is good, and I’ve always thought BT phones are simpler to use than others I’ve tried.
Upgrading from an older set (BT 2500), I like the higher resolution of the display (though the viewing angle isn’t great) and the fact that address book and speed dial entries sync with all the handsets automatically. Joining a call from another handset is easier. The beep when you put it back on the cradle is far less annoying. You can set different ringtones for different callers.
I haven’t tried the blocking function, but it probably works really well — I have used another TrueCall product and was impressed.
Update June 2019: After several months of use I’ve become annoyed with the slowness of the menu system. Just displaying a list of recent calls, for instance, takes the handset about one second of “thinking time”. It’s not a deal-breaker but it’s irritating.
I am 78 years old and care for my invalid wife and was finding that I was being pestered by sales calls and would be scam calls. It was obvious that I was on some “vulnerable old git” list. I saw an article in the press about call blocking and when I went online to investigate came across an article recommending the BT8500 telephone. I looked at the reviews which seemed mostly favourable so went ahead and ordered one. It has transformed my life. I set up my contact list which was very easy and straightforward, plugged it in and waited for the pesky calls so that I could add them to the block number list. Well the phone has been in situ for over a week now and I have not had a single nuisance call. As soon as they are asked to identify themselves they hang up. So I have not had to block a single number as yet. It’s bliss when the phone rings as I know it’s a genuine call. I found the phone easy to set up and easy to use and the only action required so far has been to add a few numbers to the allowed list. If every phone was like this then those dammed people would go out of business. EVERY OVER 65 SHOULD HAVE ONE.

Got this because my last set of phones would only store 30 blocked numbers. That’s nowhere near enough these days.
This phone will block everything except the numbers on your caller list, if you choose to use this facility. Alternatively, block them as they call.
Worth the money and time setting up
Call blocking absolutely brilliant probably only about 2 nuisance calls have come through since we started using it, whereas we would have 2 – 3 most days. Just remember to insert the numbers of your friends or family before use (and your own mobile number as I couldn’t phone home the first time I tried)
Sound quality is better than expected and, unlike other wireless phones, the volume is good. Reasonably easy to set up, although the manual could be better: for basic use the phones are plug & play. No problems with signal between floors in a house. Includes call blocking, which is a bonus.
Outstandingly Good Phone
I bought this pair of telephones to block unwanted calls. They do the job extremely well if you are prepared to spend the time to get to grips with the instructions with a bit of customer support. Once mastered they are easy to use. The sound quality is excellent both when handheld and in hands-free modes. I would not hesitate to recommend them.

I bought this to stop unwanted phone calls which were increasing. It has stopped over 90% of them. Some callers are getting smarter and using 07 numbers or local std codes to get past the call blocker. However, once you have identified the number as a spam caller, just press one button to block the number. A good product!
Very easy setup.
I purchased these phones to replace my 9 year old Panasonic cordless phone. These were very easy to set up and work really well on my VirginMedia phone line. I never received many cold calls however I’m sure they’ll eliminate these types of calls completely.
Volume of the handsets is just right, here’s hoping I get 9 years out of these and at a superb price point.
It takes a bit of time to set up the phone because you have to enter all your friends’ names and numbers but once that’s done you’re up and running. I particularly like the fact that you need enter the info once only – the numbers are then shared automatically across all the handsets. Since installing the system we have had no nuisance calls. I would recommend it to anyone wanting to eliminate this modern menace.
Turned up within two days, far quicker than expected and was well packaged.

I bought these to replace my ageing BT Verve phones, they were great phones a full of great features but I have to admit that these are far superior for call quality, ease of use and all of the extra features that you can use if you are a BT customer. Even if you are not a BT customer these are great phones.

I was looking for the impossible, good sound on the handsets and from the answer machine together with a quick and simple call blocking system, I found all of these facilities in this product, I was very pleased indeed, Thank you BT.

Downside was the packaging it came in, looked as though it had come from a recycling center, none of the content was damaged
Stops cold calls - very effective
Pretty good set of phones. The call blocking and announcement of caller is very good and gets rid of every cold caller. We were getting cold callers at least once every day or two – the usual scammers trying to get access to our computer, accident claims companies, etc. Now we don’t get any! Very pleased indeed. The only annoyance is when you press the phonebook or call history buttons it takes 2 to 3 seconds for it to “gather” the information. No idea why it does that, never had that before on any multi-phone system before. Minor niggle really.
Does exactly what it states,stops nuisance calls,if the telephone number is on your call list the caller will be allowed to continue for you to answer.
Any call that is not on your call list ie withheld,00800 numbers will have to announce who they are and you have the option to either accept or reject the call.
This system really does work
My goodness, what a difference this has made to my life! No more nuisance calls because this phone heads them off at the pass. If people aren’t willing to say who they are, I don’t even get a phone call, just a little picture on the phone to say someone called. I can of course tell it to allow those calls that I know are genuine, but any others are caught. Everyone should have one of these and the scam callers would soon be out of business!
