Purchased this mouse on the recommendation of my physiotherapist after being treated for a trigger finger injury. Loved my $20 mouse, but just couldn't use it without aggravating the injury. Purchased the wired version and liked it a lot, but a wireless version works best for me. Got this "used - like new" version and absolutely love it. Ships fast and comes with a AA battery and drawstring bag. Adapting to the new hand position takes a day or two and a bit longer if using your non-dominant hand. Very comfortable to hold. Gave my wired LH one to my husband and he loves it.

Instant forearm relief and good compatibility and precisio
As a person that works on a computer I bought this to relieve pain in the forearm from extended use of the mouse and keyboard. Been having pain for the last month. This mouse does help, already feeling better after just a couple days.
I was positively impressed by how easy it is to get used to it, didn’t need adaptation time at all. Unless you are planning to use it for gaming, then you might suffer a bit. For coding and normal tasks it works just fine.
Worked out of the box for Linux, I didnt try any of the configurable keys so can’t vouch for that but should be reasonable easy to do.
Well, overall, I really quite like this. I was a little worried it would take some getting used to, but it’s been fine – this could be due to transitioning to a more ergonomic but hugely cheaper mouse already; though that wasn’t angled as much as this one. The one I had was ok, but I didn’t like that I needed to grip it quite a lot with my thumb as that’s where I have a lot of pain. Still it was better than the regular mouse. This mouse is very nice. My thumb has a little resting shelf and isn’t agitated. I like the angle my hand sits at and find it very comfortable. I did a lot of research on this and it’s really important to choose the right size of this mouse. My hands are small and the small size is just right for me. I always pick wired mice as I need them to be responsive, and this really is so. In fact it’s more so than my previous mouse and took a little getting used to! I do believe you can make adjustments to it but I’m ok with it as is. Apart from the price (which is a lot!) the only thing I’m not so keen on is the ‘right click’ part of the mouse as there’s a middle paddle and my ring finger naturally goes for that but you need to stretch a little further. Again, I’m sure you can program the middle one if you wanted. Hopefully this will be robust and last long as it’s a bit of an investment at the price.
Absolut empfehlenswe
Excellent produc
This is an absolutely excellent mouse. Once you have been using for even a short while you will never want to go back to a conventional mouse. It fits your hand perfectly and just feels so natural to use.
A perfect ergonomic mouse
The mouse was purchased for me, so I did not purchase it from Amazon, however I am just reviewing to say how amazing the mouse is. I have the wired and wireless version for home and work and they make a massive difference. Instead of having to move just the wrist and to have your wrist in an unnatural position, this mouse keeps your hand in the correct position and allowed you to move your wrist or arm. It is so comfy, and you might think you won’t be able to get used to it, but just remember when you first used a mouse, that was new for you, you will quickly get used to this and it’ll last ages. I use the wireless mouse on a Mac and Windows laptop, and if it ever broke, would gladly invest in a new one myself.
I don't write reviews very often but I thought I should this time. I bought this exact same model about 7 years ago. I had severe pain in my forearm from using a conventional mouse all day in the office and at home. When I used it for the very first time my forearm felt immediately better and with in hours I could feel the pain dissipate for good. After all these years of use(and a few drops) the mouse finally failed. I didn't want to spend that much money again for a mouse so I bought several different styles of vertical mice, no comparison as the pain started to come back and progressively worse within a day or two. So I returned those units back and went with what I know, a little too expensive but its what I can't live with out. I wish they would maybe make it out of a more softer touch type material. Other than that my only disappointment is that the Evoluent 4 Right Wireless Vertical Mouse (VM4RW) went on sale less than a week later after I bought.

This is the best ergonomic mouse I have ever owned…I have been using this product for 7 or 8 years. I recommend it to everyone who works at a computer and uses their mouse for through out the day. I used to have wrist pain and when I changed over to the Evoluent mouse, my pain stopped, my wrists no longer ache all night! This mouse is also programmable – which is an added bonus! The price may seem high, but it lasts for years and it prevents my wrist from hurting so it is worth every penny!
Blue mouse fits a small to medium size hand, the brown fits a extra small to small hand.
Not for me
I ordered this mouse to help with tennis elbow and RSI brought on by working from home. It got recommended to me by a colleague who uses it for his arthritis. I got used to using a vertical mouse very quickly. You have different settings that are very useful, however I find the mouse VERY heavy in comparison to standard mice and in the afternoon after using it all day my arm grows very tired. I can’t see that my condition has improved much since I started using it. But this can of course be due to the fact that I have been working from home since March now and not allowed the condition to heal by stopping work. I have been using the mouse since June. Every so often I alternate between this one and a semi vertical mouse, and while I find the other one much lighter I feel that the fact that it is not as vertical as this one it aggravates my condition. This is clearly a very good mouse, I just can’t say it has helped me a lot.
I realised I’d bought this mouse 6 years ago when coming back to look at another one for work since I’ve now moved to working from home.
Prior to getting this mouse I’d used a variety of high quality Logitech mice and this just blew them out the water. Firstly my RSI has not returned since I shifted to this, in fact the old twinges I used to get prior to the RSI after extended mouse use haven’t made an appearance either. I’ve used it extensively for PC gaming including FPS (most recently Doom Eternal) without issue and it’s been a pleasure to use. It’s precise, responsive, DPI is easily adjustable and all the buttons are easy to access.
I have one of the cheaper vertical mice for work but only be to cost. I’d happily use this mouse full time for everything.
For the sake of balance it’s worth noting I have quite large hands. My wife tried this and actually prefers one of the cheaper mice. That said it’s no contest for me.
Very comfortable to use
Great mouse, software not the easiest to set up. Default button settings won’t suit many, but can be changed. I found setting middle button as right click (instead of lower button) a great improvement. Battery life is good, I use mine at least hours a day and not many batteries been used so far.
Brillia
I’ve been using one of these mice at the office and decided that I wanted one for when working at home. Its one of the few left hand ergonomic mice out there and has been for years. I love the holding position as it means your arm is in its natural position and you wrist isn’t twisted. The lip at the bottom for the little finger means the side of the hand and little finger does not scrape the surface of the desk which happens with some of the cheaper ergonomic mice. The buttons are very responsive and there are some function changes possible if you download the mouse manger. My office one is over 5 years old so I know it should last years as long as you look after it. Would have been nice to have a wireless version but us lefties are in the minority sadly. Nonetheless would highly recommend.
Very comfortable mouse
I have ordered several of these for work and they are very comfortable to use. Slightly pricey so I ordered a cheaper version for home. Both are as good as each othe
It's really ergonomic and worth the money!
This is a great mouse. I bought one for office use 5 years ago, and it’s still going great. I bought this same mouse again for my home office. It eliminated my wrist pain.
I first purchased this mouse when I had really bad wrist pain years ago. The pain was so terrible that it kept me up late at night. My coworkers suggested maybe I needed an ergonomic mouse, since I worked with multiple computers for 9 plus hours a day. I bought this mosue, and a few weeks later the pain subsided, and eventually disappeared.
Recently, I used a regular mouse when I started to work from home, for an extended period of time due to COVID-19, my wrist pain came back. Couple of days after I switched back to this mouse, wrist pain is gone again.
Used this mouse for 8 years, it stopped working. Tried 3 different cheaper mouse types to save money and be cheap to end up buying this exact mouse once again.
Had wrist pain with all 3 other ergonomic mices.
Yes it’s expansive, but nothing comparable on the market.
Available for left handed as well.
Great produc
I have used an Evoluent upright mouse at work for many years and now bought this one for home use as well. They are great quality and they are so much better for hands and wrists than the old-style mice. Takes a bit of getting used to in the beginning but yo will get the hang of it in about a week or so and won’t want to go back. With these mice, it makes a difference whether you are left handed or right handed, so make sure you buy the correct one. I use mine without any problems and without having had to install anything on an Ubunu Linux laptop.
This mouse is a great help reducing stress in my wrist from frequent gaming on my laptop. The small size fits my hand like a glove, making it feel very comfortable to use. My only real complaint about the mouse is that the plastic material that the mouse uses for the mouse buttons and for the silver space to rest your thumb seems to pick dirt and oil from my fingers very easily. Despite keeping my hands thoroughly clean as they can be, I find myself near constantly having to clean the mouse of any grime on the buttons and thumb rest. The mouse being prone to getting dirty fast is why I can't give it five stars overall.

Fit's my hand (7.5" span) perfectly; cheaper and lighter than expected
I’ve used other versions of the evoluent, and been delighted by the heavy, high-quality feeling: they really feel like they’re in a class apart from other, cheaper, vertical mice.
Unfortunately, this one is lightweight and feels slightly cheap. The cord, paradoxically, is clearly high-quality, and is heavy enough to be annoyingly draggy if it hands off the desk.
As for the size, this small mouse is great for my hands (pretty average women’s hands, measuring 7.5″ thumb to pinkie when extended).
If you have truly small hands – sorry. Looks like Evoluent doesn’t make mice for you.
comfortable and easy to use, perfect for smaller hands
I was suggested this mouse several years ago when hurt my shoulder and my work desk setup had to be adjusted to support this. I had issues extending my shoulder to the right so I was encouraged to work with a wireless keyboard with a floating number pad, and the Evoluent mouse. It worked very well for many years and I was very happy with it.
Since the COVID lock down, I have been working from home and purchased the small version of this mouse. It took me a few days to get re-acquainted with the feel and usage but once back into it – it has been really comfortable.
My glove size is 7.5 so I border small/normal size according to the guidance. I prefer the smaller one as it fits my calm comfortably and I am a bit more nimble with it. The thumb rest has a smooth feel to it as well which I prefer. I went back to the normal size one and whilst it is fine, I prefer the smaller size where possible. The purple colour was also really nice – I know it has not impact on the usage but i love seeing it!
The programable buttons are also very handy and easy to setup. We have this on our iMac installed the accompanying software to ensure additional buttons can be programmed.
Expensive but worth it.
Having a shoulder injury, this mouse was suggested by my physiotherapist to ensure my arm was not put under strain whilst using my computer.
It’s very odd to start with, and accuracy can be a little difficult, but for general day to day usage it’s superb and the effect of the shoulder is noticeable.
I’ve not tried cheaper vertical mice (which may do the same job) but this one works for me.
On a side note, I have both wired and Bluetooth versions. They are equally good, but a generic Bluetooth adapter is required (about 10 off Amazon) if your machine doesn’t have it built in.
Einfach Mega Supe
Dies ist meine 2. Evoluente Mouse vom selben Hersteller.
Good mouse for anybody with wrist or thumb problems
Satisfied with the speed of the delivery.
Good overall wireless mouse but a bit awkward to change the settings for the right click. I have the wired version at work and it is better in that respect.
The mouse speed is a bit too fast even after changing the settings and it makes scrolling a bit difficult sometimes.
Overall is a good ergonomic mouse.
Excellent ergonomic mouse
This is a great ergonomic mouse. I already had one at work and I recently got a second one for working from home. It’s pricey but it’s really worth it if you suffer from / want to avoid getting RSI. You will quickly feel the difference between using this mouse and a traditional mouse.
Best ergonomic mouse I've tried so fa
My last mouse broke and I was looking at something while I wait for a CST L-trac (not in stock at the moment).
I’ve tried with the Logitech MX Vertical, but I don’t like the fact that the base of the mouse is slightly raised. Plus, buttons (especially the middle one) are quite hard to press, and you can especially feel that if your hand is placed to the side. Finally, that mouse feels a bit small for my hands, and I feel like I can’t hold it with my whole hand, but with my fingertips only (it hurts if I tried to hold all of it)
Then I thought of returning the MX Vertical and trying the Evoluent V4… absolutely brilliant! The hand rests naturally on the mouse, being able to hold all of it. The inclination feels just right. The mouse is quite precise, and it allows you to move the cursor quite fast on the screen. And the buttons are the best of all! They are so soft! Plus, at least on Windows, it’s not the scroll wheel click what triggers the middle mouse button, but actually the second large button. That’s brilliant! It’s so much easier to press. The mouse has a shape that supports the pinky finger, which is also quite nice. Finally, it’s Bluetooth (yay!)
To sum up, this is the most convenient and comfortable mouse I’ve ever tried. Totally recommended!
Pretty happy with this mouse
I’ve been using Evoluent mice for a number of years now. The only negative is that the finish is a little odd and can rub off after a while after extended use (as others have mentioned). However, there’s one thing I think is important that I don’t see people mention often, and it’s the number of mouse buttons this has compared to other less expensive vertical mice.
This one is a true “3-button” mouse, that also has a mouse wheel. Most of the other less expensive mice are two-button mice with a wheel. I do a lot of graphics work and use the middle mouse button a lot. It’s very annoying after a while if you try to use the wheel itself as a button. So for me, this was the way to go.
I have trouble with my wrist. Using a vertical mouse can alleviate some of the pain. Work bought me one and I liked it enough to by one for home. It is pretty expensive but when you are experiencing pain, it can be worth it.
If you are curious if this might help, hold your mouse like normal, then turn you wrist 70-90 degrees so the mouse is vertical. For me, that is an instant relief. If you feel similar relief, this style of mouse might be for you.
Brillia
Really comfortable. I’d used the larger size then found the size guide. I was borderline. I decided to get the smaller one as I’d felt that the standard/large was a bit heavy. Glad that I chose the small. No complaints and my golfers elbow is no way as painful in comparison to when I used a regular mouse.
Good if you have tennis elbow
To replace an older one which had lasted ?6 years. Disappointed the older one hadn’t lasted longer though this is an issue with many electronic devices. The new one is just as good. I get them to prevent further tennis elbow symptoms and they work well.
In terms of ergonomic comfort, Evoluent is one of the original pioneers in the field. So the comfort is great. I've tried cheaper ones, but always go back to Evoluent. It tracks well, and I like the customization software to program the buttons. It is on the lightweight side, so if you like a heavy mouse, it may not be for you. The only thing is, this is my fourth verticalmouse 4, as they only seem to last for 1-2 years or daily use before something stops working. But it's one of the best in the field, so I'm fine with buying them repeatedly to get their comfort. I would say I'm a heavier than average user, so most people would probably get more mileage, but they haven't lasted as long as my older Logitech or Microsoft mice. I also prefer the wired version for it's simplicity and reliability. I tried the wireless version, and it was a little skittish and jumpy, perhaps due to RF interference living in a higher density, inner city location? I don't know.

The mouse appears as advertised and worked fine out of the box.
There was some glitching at first as I plugged it in to a USB hub next to my corded gaming mouse (the instructions specify not to use a hub but my laptop is USB deficient), but when I unplugged both, plugged the Evoluent in first and made sure it was configured properly, then plugged the gaming mouse in second, they both work fine.
I had hoped to use it for both work and gaming, but I did not find it as responsive as I like for FPS games. I keep my corded mouse handy for gaming but use the Evoluent for everything else.
I am a large man (6’2″) with large hands, and I find this mouse comfortable. Using a regular mouse for more than a couple of hours causes me pain in my wrist, forearm and elbow that can last for several days. Using this mouse for 4+ hours per day for the last week, I felt a slight soreness from using unaccustomed muscles, but adjusting my chair to be more ergonomically correct has pretty much solved that. Also I am learning that not dropping my wrist or allowing the fleshy part of the outside of the hand to rest on the desk is important; eventually I will get one of those gel wrist pads but for now I have adjusted the armrest on my chair so that when I reach for the mouse my arm and hand stay properly aligned. Basically this mouse is re-configuring the way I sit and work, starting from my mousing hand. After 20+ years of incorrect posture, it’s taking some getting used to, but the reduction in pain is worth it.
There are some other minor things that require getting used to. For example: There are two thumb buttons, one above and one below where the thumb sits. Contrary to expectation the top one is used as a back button, which is good since I keep accidentally bumping the bottom thumb button when I reach for or grab the mouse. I would recommend on their next iteration of this mouse that they put both buttons above the thumb rest.
Another minor thing to get used to is the three-button layout, with scroll wheel between the first and second button. At first I thought the RMB was not working, but soon realized I was pressing the center button, not the actual right mouse button. Now that I’m used to using my ring finger for RMB, having the center button as a scroll control has come in very handy when reading lengthy documents and web pages.
Over all, I am glad I bought this mouse.
Comfortable to use
Loved this mouse right out of the box! The hand position feels comfortable and natural, the mouse glides well and it took no time to get used to the vertical position. The mouse feels well made and the buttons are easy to press. Installs itself but the extra software is useful if you want to take full advantage of the features. No connection problems at all even though I’ve used it with several different computers / setups.
I've had an Evoluent for ages, but wanted a cordless one. So no surprises in its use, but the battery usage is good, and it's great not having yet another cable.

Comfortable
I was using this for work being an analyst so got my own for from home days. I will get wrist strain using a conventional mouse so this is a great help!
Stra-consigliato!
Bisschen klapprig, aber Gold we
Comfortable to use and very capable button programming.
After researching carefully for a couple of evenings, this is the one that I chose. Given the amount of time the I use a mouse, and the unpleasantness of pain in my hand/arm, the price is peanuts.
It just does the job. I started using it straight away, and was able to get on with it immediately, no adjustment needed, so I think it is great.
The software to program buttons is as easy and obvious as it gets, and the extra buttons are really useful for CAD – I use SolidWorks, and had no problems adapting. My past mouse, Perixx MX2000 was great and I had esc delete and s keys programmed. With the Evoluent 4, I had to reduce this to esc, but it’s not a huge loss. More buttons and a 2 way click tilting wheel would be even better, but it is very useful as it is.
The unique feature is the shape, and my immediate impression after working for a day is that my hand is in a lot more comfortable working position, no pain, which I would normally get after a few hours.
Apart from that, the usual quick delivery from Amazon.
Overall a pretty happy customer would definitely recommend. Will write again if anything changes.
Alles sehr empfehlenswert.
Best vertical mouse bar none
Fantastic product with plug and play out of the box. Once Evoluent software is installed it comes into it’s own and knocks the competition for six. Brilliant for relieving RSI and carpal tunnel. Very good for gaming despite what other reviewers say, great programmable buttons and functions. Try it you won’t be disappointed!
I’ve had a few different employers get the small size version of this mouse for my workplace, and I also use it at home. I like that you can use the software to program extra functions into the extra buttons – the middle button is great for a double-click and I always install the software so I can use that extra feature. Most other people can use it after a bit without too much confusion, they are much more confused by the middle button than the sideways orientation. It’s a nice size, pleasant (slightly heavy) weight, and the buttons press with hardly any resistance. I would not recommend it for heavy gaming though because it can be hard to move it quickly enough for some applications and occasionally the monsters eat you. It beats a track-ball. I accept the risks.
Note that you need to have your arm at the right and correct angle, and be aware of the side of your hand rubbing the desk where it meets the wrist – that can be its own problem if the desk is the wrong height or something – but in general I’ve found this really helps with my repetitive stress troubles. Love this mouse!
I’m a novelist which means long, long hours at the keyboard. A long time ago, RSI in my right hand drove me to left handed, ergonomic mice and I’ve used the Evoluent since the early part of the millennium, pairing it with a succession of Macs. For office use and for writing, it’s perfect – no RSI despite pretty much day long use every day, 7 days a week. That said, I also play World of Warcraft and it’s really not either fast or accurate enough and I have yet to find a way to get it to programme the buttons. For ordinary every day use, though, it’s perfect.
Souris d'ordinateur ergonomique
RSI godsend
This is the best solution to mousing RSI. I have used it for five years, and just bought another as I wore the last one out. Worth every penny to be totally comfortable.
A big thumbs up
What a transformationm. Many times my wrist and thumb would become tingly or just ache with a conventual mouse this one works splendidly. I experienced no user problems with the differant buttons to use and was able to work seamlessly from my old standard mouse to this one.
I was super skeptical about a vertical position mouse. I’m a software developer, and spend way too much time at the keyboard. I’ve never had issues really that I noticed, but I wanted to experiment with the perfect ergonomic setup for my work so I can be productive very long hours.
Opening the box was disappointing – the first thing that grabbed my attention was this super bright, cheap-arse plastic chrome inset where your thumb goes. And that’s it for negative, everything else was super positive.
But ultimately, what a surprise when I plugged it in and started using it. Immediately I could feel a difference in my forearms. The ‘right click’ on the bottom is a bit awkward atm though. With a flat mouse, I’ve always used my 3rd finger to right-click. With this mouse, it seems I have to use my pinky, or combo 3rd finger and pinky to right click, and it takes a little more force it seems and the base moves (taking your mouse off the target). However, this is just first impression, and after practicing a bit I think I’m getting the hang of it.
I’m giving 5 stars just because oob experience really was pretty terrific once plugged in. Can’t say long term though, but with amazon’s great return policy this is a product worth giving a try imho.
Modello Evoluent VerticalMouse 4 USB.
Aggiornamento 23/03/2022
Funziona ancora.
I have had half a dozen Evoluent vertical mice over the past decade. I have tried just about every other vertical and ergonomic mouse, but the Evoluents continue to be far and away the best in terms of precision, hand fit, and avoiding pain and cold fingers all day. They are very expensive, but again and again I have come back to them.
Several of my Evoluents have eventually had the button switches stop working. This isn’t unique to Evoluents – all mouse button switches eventually wear out – but Evoluent has a two-year warranty and if this happens within that timeframe, contact them and they will be responsive. On three of mine, this happened after the two-year period (i.e. no longer under warranty) but I was able to use one of my Evoluents for spare parts; open it up, de-solder the less-used and still good switches off the mouse’s logic board, and replace the primary worn-out switches on the other mouse’s logic board. You can also buy the switches online. This extended my mouse’s lifetime.
All of my Evoluents worked for at least 2-3 years for me. I never had any problems on the outside with rubber or the silver area wearing down. I have had both wired and wireless versions – all work fine, never any problems. Naturally, you’ll need to make sure there are not radio-blocking obstacles between a wireless mouse and the USB receiver – I keep a USB hub on my desk to ensure clear line of sight from mouse to receiver.
I have used this mouse since it was first offered for sale I believe 5 or 6 years ago. Every day – sometimes 10 hours a day. I keep TWO mice plugged into my main computer – one standard flat, and this vertical. I alternate them every 1 to 2 hours. They are both “hot” all the time. I just switch them with any discomfort. Any fixed position of the wrist becomes painful after time. There is no one “best” mouse for the wrist — they perform differently on consecutive days. I did have a wire fracture at the junction of mouse and wire. I solved that problem with a new mouse using about 1 inch of clear silicone sealer from the mouse body — out about 1 to 2 inches. The silicone surrounds the wire and attaches to the body of the mouse. No effect on mouse movement on the desk. I elongate the “sealed” wire segment about every 6 months. The sealer allows some movement — but prevents the sudden bending that will destroy wire function. I have several desktop computers on the same desk, and also use wireless mice. This is my favorite — if I had to use only one. NOTE — there are endless choices for programming all the buttons. It’s fun to change them from time to time.
AY
Superior pointing device that keeps you comfortable as you work: Period.
I have two of these Evoluents. As to the comfort of the Evoluent: it cannot be understated. It’s hard to completely capture how much comfort the mouse allows compared *to any other mouse* out there. That motion of simply moving your arm-elbow-wrist-hand-fingers in one natural motion onto the mouse cannot be denied: it feels natural and right. Even if you never program the keys (but you should learn), that mouse will relieve you of so much stress that even generates all the way through your neck and scalp.
After using it almost daily for two years, this one literally broke down a week ago. Something has gone awry with the wire that connects the mouse to the notebook; it works intermittently. That wire, btw, is long, and I’ve learned to just keep it tethered with cable ties. So, I’ll see if the wire can be replaced; if not, I’ll buy another one. For all those who grouse about the price, sure: you’re right. It is more expensive than other pointing devices. But the cost of seeing a physical therapist is greater than the single price of the Evoluent.
Top quality vertical mouse, but not cheap
If you suffer from RSI/joint pain or trigger finger in your right hand, this mouse is ideal to avoid further agrovation. It has more than enough programmable controls. The 3 mouse buttons can be a little difficult to get used to having the “right click” mouse button under your 4th finger.
A few times reaching across my desk for something, I’ve caught the top “back” button of mouse as I’m still not used to the height of the mouse as compared with my old horizontal unit – I just have to get used to lifting my arm a little higher!
This is a well made unit, a little expensive but has worked faultlessly since arrival and was simplicity to pair up. It’s rather “fatter” than many other vertical mouses which makes it more comfortable to use. One tip – if you reach the left-hand limit of your desk surface and need to physically reposition the mouse back to the right of your desk, tip the mouse over onto its right-hand edge and slide it over the desk; this avoids having to physically having to pick ithe mouse up risking inadvertent button pressing in doing so.
... mouse for some months now and it's been very comfortable to use
I’ve been using this mouse for some months now and it’s been very comfortable to use. I bought it because I had a problem with my shoulder muscles later diagnosed as frozen shoulder. It may look bulky but it is far more natural a position for the wrist and very easy to get used to. After months of use 4-5 days per week, I’ve had no problem with my wrist or shoulder muscles. There are times when the wireless plays up and a battery change does not sort this, so I would advise keeping an alternative mouse available when this happens, and certainly a spare battery. Overall, I’m very pleased with it, and it is actually very smart.
Angenehme, entspannte Handhabung
So long repetitive strai
Life changing mouse! Love that you can switch through tabs, close files, turn a double click into one click etc all at the touch of a mouse. So comfortable too, my repetitive strain is no more with this beauty!
Love it, totally easy to use - plug and play. Had to replace after about year and half, wireless seems to stop working after awhile, but given I use it every day and didn't have the time to trouble shoot, was fine to replace.

Most comfortable mouse I've used.
After using one of these at work I decided to purchase one for home use. The mouse place the wrist in a more neutral position than a standard mouse which is much more comfortable. It is adjustable for sensitivity on the fly and works well on both a desk or mat. At first glance it may appear expensive but it’s well worth the money particularly if you suffer from wrist sensitivity, carpal tunnel etc.
Top quality mouse, let down by lack of software support for Mac users
Brilliant vertical mouse, helped enormously in getting rid of my RSI. I started with a cheap (fifteen quid) vertical model, which I liked but which did not have many programmable buttons – and this Evoluent one does. I use it every day and enjoy using it every day – it simplifies my work, has improved my RSI no end – what could be better?
I’ll tell you what could be better = the Mac software. Since I upgraded to High Sierra (OS X 10.13) the mouse refuses to wake up when the computer wakes from sleep. The only solution is unplugging it and replugging it, which is a bore. Many people suffer from the same, Evoluent announced that they are working on a fix – as from September 2017… No fix yet four months later.
High quality mouse, ft for purpose, but let down by software support for Mac users – one would expect better from an expensive quality product.
Good for RSI but not gaming
Only took a little while to get used to it. RSI pain now not evident after using this mouse for 4 weeks. Not too good for serious gaming as tracking does not seem very good – it cannot handle my mouse-mat’s graphics (Alien/Dell mouse mat) which my Xornet II mouse has no problem with.
Very good bought because have carpel tunnel I have version 3 ...
Very good bought because have carpel tunnel I have version 3 at work this version 4 feels the same only difference are the cool colored lights, I don’t have the numbness and tingling in my fingers (had 3 injections in wrist so far) anymore plus my now husband uses this mouse with no problems. I would recommend this product.
Its so natural to use as its like a hand shake
I wish I started using this years ago. I believe everyone should be using this , whether you have wrist issued or not!
Its so natural to use as its like a hand shake, which were ergonomically suppose to be practising!!
I waited too long to purchase this mouse. My shoulder had been bothering me for MONTHS and my friend kept telling me it was from using a regular, flat mouse. I finally broke down and purchased this mouse and couldn’t be happier. Yes, it does change the position of your arm so you’re not twisted and yes it does work properly. Using the three buttons takes some getting used to but, overall, this is a great product. On the expensive size for, well, a mouse, but I’d say it’s worth it because it reduced the pain in my right shoulder. I’d recommend this mouse, absolutely.
Great for those with arthritic hands
Great for those with arthritic hands. Easy to use without manipulating the thumb. Easy to programme too. Sometimes it seems to stop working, but all you do is unplug and replug the wireless dongle. Well worth the money.
The Evoluent VM4R mouse is a great ergonomic solution for people, such as myself, that are experiencing persistent wrist or forearm pain. However, it’s quality of build is average (at best). In my case, the mouse that I purchased less than a year ago is now malfunctioning. It now intermittently double-clicks when you mean to be single-clicking, making navigating and completing tasks a frustrating exercise.
The mouse also seems to collect all sorts of gunk on the buttons, which is odd as I’ve never had a mouse do that before. See attached photos. It needs to be cleaned every week or so. Every week I clean it, and then it simply reappears. I wash my hands frequently. I’m not sure how to avoid it- maybe wear gloves?
For the past 10 months when it worked well the Evoluent was a fine solution and did indeed reduce my wrist pain. Perhaps yours will do better, but for the premium you pay for this mouse, I expected more than 10 months of use before it crapped out on me.
POST-WARRANTY EDIT
After shipping the mouse back for repair (at my expense), I received either a new or refurbished mouse within 7 days. Aside from having to pay for the shipping, I am happy for the quick turnaround time. My issue has been resolved.
EDIT #2
Guess what’s broken again?
$115 mouse didn’t even last two years. Save your money and don’t buy this POS.
Moderate upgrade
An upgrade from the 3. Wheel is loads better, although ridged. Has a silly blue logo so no good at night if you sleep in the same room Also they have changed the default buttons around so unless you install the software, it does some odd things. Back button under the thumb is too easy to press. Disable it.
Easy to install
Easy to install. Love this mouse. I use it every day for work and it helps alleviate and prevent symptoms of tennis elbow and wrist pain. Could not live without it.
Not cheap but damned good
If you’re trying to cure, or want to prevent, any wrist issues, then this is great for taking strain off your forearm. If I had one minor suggestion it would be to have a scroll wheel freewheel button like the Logitech but you can click & drag the middle butto

I had some problems with muscles on the hand as I am working on a computer and using mouse very actively. This product helped me a lot and my hand is in mych better condition. I used to the mouse almost immediately so I cannot complain from very different or difficult adjustment to the product.
The best, as usual
I’ve been using Evoluent mice for many years. This wireless model does not disappoint. Fits my medium-large hand very well. The *only* complaint is that the default button settings are Wrong (but easily remedied once you find their driver setup program in your system tray).
Highly recommended.
Also klare Kaufempfehlung!
... the computer 7 hours a day and previously suffered terribly from tendinitis
Am on the computer 7 hours a day and previously suffered terribly from tendinitis. The angle of this mouse means I don’t get any pain at all. Would definitely recommend.
Only problem with this it’s my second one as the receiver broke on the first as there’s no where in the design to slot it into the main mouse like other models when carrying from work to home. There was no way to replace the receiver so had to buy the whole thing again, so costly. Tried a few cheaper alternatives but come back to this one because the alternatives don’t quite the angle right and the arm pain came back.
I bought this for my boss who was dealing with symptoms of carpal tunnel. She is in love with this mouse and no longer has the pain she dealt with before! Happy boss, happy life :) Thank you!

Hatte frher immer Vorbehalte gegenber vertikalen Musen.
An sonsten super!
It's very slippery!
I like the idea and am still getting used to it.
The only downside, so far, is that it tends to move too easily so slips out of your hand. I would prefer a ‘rubberised’ finish to help stop this.
Amazing mouse it takes a little time to get used too but its worth the price. I have RSI issues and i feel like the mouse has helped me alot!

Reduces RSI with ergonomic brilliance.
Having completely broken my ulna and radius a few years back and now having 40 hour as a graphic designer my arm was under some serious strain.
After doing some research this mouse came top of my findings and has really helped with reducing the pain, giving your arm a more neutral positioning relieves pressure while you work.
Fantastic purchase, the only negatives I have would be some of the aesthetics, the chrome, light up text and purple body don’t do it for me but other than that it’s perfect.
I love this mouse! I have had carpal tunnel on and off for years and after seeing a occupational therapist, this was recommended to try at work. No more achey wrist or numb hands and the end of a day of typing. It is worth every penny and I am happy with this mouse.

I am 56, and work in full-time administrative role requiring me to use a computer all day. I had been using a normal mouse for years, with no problems. However, I started getting stiffness in the middle joints in my fingers a few months ago. I went to the doctor, had a blood test to rule our rheumatoid arthritis (which it did) and the only conclusion was that I had RSI. I was advised by my colleague to book an appointment with the health person in HR at work. I did this, and my IT department provided me with an Evoluent mouse. To say I hated it at first is an understatement. I was thinking “No way will I ever get used to this!” However, somebody else at work who had been provided with the same mouse said that I needed to persevere, so I did. I had to admit, it caused no pain in my hand as the regular mouse had done, but I found it very hard to use accurately. I decided to initially keep both the Evoluent mouse and the regular mouse so I had a choice. I was slow with the Evoluent mouse so made a point of using it for just a part of each day. I did this for about two weeks, and gradually I found I was using the Evoluent mouse more and more, until one day I realised I hadn’t used the regular mouse for a whole day. At that point, I gave the regular mouse back to IT. I have now fully adjusted and find the Evoluent mouse as easy to use as the regular mouse, but now I’m comfortable so it’s finally become a win-win situation. My fingers no longer click or give me pain, and in the end, I actually found that when I was using my computer at home, I found I was missing my work Evoluent mouse. I only use my home laptop for personal use, so obviously I couldn’t ask work for another Evoluent mouse for home. I therefore decided that to have the same comfort at home for 80 was well worth it, and I have therefore purchased the same mouse for myself to use at home, and I am very happy that I have done so. Please note this is a completely unbiased review, I’d never even heard of ‘Evoluent’ before getting the mouse at work.
measure up before choosing size
works well, intuitive to use.
do measure your hand before choosing which size to get – I got the bigger (regular) size one which is a tiny bit big, but the smaller one would have been too small and fiddly.
expensive piece of kit, so hopefully will last and also help with aches.
This is my second Evoluent mouse as my other one was showing signs of dying after around 6 years of daily use. I used to get very tired and a rather sore wrist/arm using a conventional mouse but the Evoluent stopped this as the position of your lower arm is in a natural position and the radius and ulna are not twisted, which happens when using a regular mouse. Took me about an hour to get used to the L/R clicks and the scroll wheel being on the side and I have no disadvantages when playing computer games! You can also custom assign the various buttons if you wish.
I use the wired version as it’s easier for me to take away with me if I’m using another computer. Yes they are a bit on the pricey side but hey if you are using it on a daily basis, what’s not to like? I also recommended it to my chiropractor who thought it was simply marvellous and now has them on his practice computers.
What can I say, this is my mouse going on for 2 years now! Had a used one, then bought a replacement, then bought an additional one with bluetooth to work with my personal computer. Use it at work and at home - can't love it enough! Really gives me a lot of comfort and prevents carpal tunnel for me!

So far so good! Have been using it for a few months and I believe it does help for shoulder pain but how I sit probably plays a big role too.

Very comfortable, pain free computing
I’ve been experiencing pain in my hand for a few weeks now, my sister told me that it was RSI and that I should look at this product as she uses it in her workplace and had never had issues. Today has been my first day using it and I’ve got no pain in my hand at all, getting used to the extra mouse button, but with the help of the software that you can download from their site, the buttons can all be set to personal preference, so this shouldn’t be an issue.
Great to use, but NOT great build quality.
The mouse is great from a comfort and usability point of view. I couldn’t fault how it is to use, however the build quality isn’t that great – I have had two and both only lasted a year and a half to 2 years. It is a shame that the high price doesn’t reflect the build quality of the components!
Great item and arrived quickly
Great item and arrived quickly. I’ve an RSI in my wrist and this has done wonders to relieve the pressure that can cause pain to my shoulders. Expensive but worth the money.

This is the second one I have had and I would highly recommend them as it helps my wrist, the only from the last one is that they have moved the middle button actions to the bottom one so this took a little while to get used to but other than that brilliant.
– zustzliche Handballen-/Unterarmauflage ratsam
Evoluent VMCRW 4.5/5
– sehr angenehm in der Handhabung
– gute Genauigkeit bei zB Photoshop und PC-Spiel (League of Legends)
– zustzliche Handballen-/Unterarmauflage ratsam

Wish I had “invested” in one ages back. It is FAB, a wee bit odd to get re-accostomed to “mousing” but the change of wrist angle proper does help.. Thank you Evouluent 🙂
