Excellent upgrade from the previous ge
Very clean and close shave without irritations or scratches in minutes. I use panasonic wet showers for two decades. My previous one was ga21 – pretty good, out so I thought. It started to die. And new ones were hard to come by. I decided to spend bit more and went with arc 5 series.
And now I can only recommend to myself from the past to make an upgrade much earlier. Strongly recommended!

    A close shave easily achieved
Having been a lifelong rotary shaver user I was not disappointed with the change. Works well dry and even better wet. Slight concern of the cost of replacement foils / cutters, almost the price I paid for the shaver. I only have a light beard so hopefully with some Care it will be a while before I need to replace any parts. I’m glad I made the switch.

Never going back to wet shaving
Having lost litres of blood over the years – mostly due to being really bad at shaving (but let’s pin the blame on sensitive skin) – I thought it was time to try an electric shaver.
I selected this one due to its good reviews and it has not disappointed in any way.
Easy to use and clean – also comes with the cleaning/charging station (which you don’t need to use, but good to have).
My face feels really well shaved after using it, so the result is practically indistinguishable from a wet shave – just with (in my case) a lot less blood – none in fact.
Shaver also comes with a travel case, mini cleaning brush, some oil & cleaning fluid – all you need.

Would 100% recommend, reputable brand, quality product, will change your life as it has done mine.

    Best one so far.
Gives you close shave with no irritation and very much easier to clean. I’ve owned several Electric/Cordless shavers over the years, and this one is definitely the best one I’ve ever owned. Good value for money.

For me this shaver was a good buy and it shaves close and leaves smooth shave after. Had panasonic before and made to last. So no doubt this shaver will last me 5 years. Good investment. You pay for what you get in life!

    Fantastic
I was fed up with old school wet shaving and continuously cutting myself, so I decided to look into an electric shaver after browsing the Internet for sometime my final decision was to look deeper into this product and its reviews, and to be absolutely honest, I wasn’t disappointed with my purchase, light weight, easy to handle, great battery life, close clean shave leaving face smooth with no remaining stubble, easy to clean and store away and reasonably priced. What isn’t there to like and would happily recommend

    A very comfortable shave
Philips changed the ‘foil’ and blade design of the 7000 series shavers which meant mine no longer worked leaving me with bleeding and sore skin. I used a Panasonic years ago and thought I’d give this a shot. The size of the head initially put me off and what difference would 5 blades really make…well to my surprise and relief my daily shave has been transformed! No nics, bleeding or irritation and in half the time, honestly, I could not really believe it. I’m delighted to say the least and I would recommend but cannot yet comment on battery life and replacement cutters and foils are looking a bit pricey but if I get a pain free shave fast, I’ll stick with it.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersFast and Smooth
The Panasonic Arc5 LV97 is a solid, well engineered, electric razor which is one of the most powerful electric razors on the market. It’s very smooth and glides across your face cutting with ruthless efficiency. I use mine with Proraso Green Tub soap and a GFCC synthetic brush and give it a quick rinse before placing it in the cleaner/ charger unit. This is noisy periodically for ten minutes whilst it cleans and lubricates the head, but then it whirs away softly and quietly whilst it fan drys the razor head with warm air. It cleans the razor perfectly. I also sometimes use just a pre electric lotion like Blue Stratos which is available from Amazon. This is a comfortable and very quick method, no brush to rinse and pop the razor straight into the cleaning station. You can buy the Panasonic cleaning sachets in a six pack from Amazon which is cheaper -currently 16.99 for six or 2.83 a sachet which lasts for about 44 days if you shave everyday and clean the razor in the unit every day. Keeping the razor cleaned and lubricated will give you a better shave and extend the life of the foil and cutters which are not cheap. If you use the razor daily the foil should be replaced annually. However the foil and a foil and cutter set cost about the same, currently around 49 .Some have criticised the soft case, but unlike Braun, Panasonic supply a hard cover for the foil so a hard case is not really needed. Panasonic shavers give the closest shaves of any electric razor because the foils are much thinner and the motors run faster. You should protect the foil at all times as it is naturally easily damaged if knocked or dropped. The built in battery has an expected life of 3 years. Not a cheap option in comparison to a top quality double edged razor but easy, quick and convenient. It gives great results, not quite the perfect smooth s of a three pass traditional razor but very very close.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersAbsolute quality.
First of all, you need to realise that everyone’s skin and bristles are unique. A 40 electric shaver can be better than a 300. I have a Braun series 5 that nearly shaves as close as this shaver. But for ME personally, this Panasonic gives me the best shave ever. Even slightly better than my Braun series 9. And there’s something about the Panasonic that screams quality. The appearance, the feel, the tactile feel of the whole thing simply makes the whole shaving experience something to look forward to every day. World class. Edit- If you’ve got oily-greasy skin, then you’ll need to wipe your skin-bristles dry with a towel or whatever. Apply a quality pre shave lotion and you should be able to shave a touch closer. It should also extend the life of the shaver head cutters and foil because the bristles should be softer. But this point cannot be stressed enough – regardless of what the manafacturers claim, NO electric shaver can cut very close if you’ve got tough and dense bristles. And fair play to Panasonic, they’re blade’s DO cut closer than anyone’s. I KNOW from years of experience. I’ve seen other reviewers saying it doesn’t cut close enough. All i can say to those people is your bristles are tougher than mine!. And im afraid you would have to persevere and be prepared to go over the same area time and time again. My shaving time with this shaver is 9-10 minutes. But that’s only because ive got very tough and dense bristles. Soft to medium strength bristles should equate to 2-5 minutes of a shave. But regardless, this is definitely the best electric shaver on the market. Superb. Edit – What’s going on Panasonic?. I’ve only had this shaver for about 3 months, and the blades are losing their edge. It takes longer to shave and it’s not as close as it was 2 weeks ago. Very disappointed.

    Close shave
There is nothing to compare to a wet Razor, however with continually shaving and not a quick 2 minutes, this Panasonic gives a really good result. This shaver does not take long to charge for a good few long shaves. The ability to wash out the razor with an encased battery is a really good idea.
Up to now after many months, I am extremely happy with this product.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersPanasonic ES-LV67 Nice To Use
If you think you’ll get a close shave like you would with hand held bladed razor forget it you will not despite what i’m about to say. First off this electric razor has a large head, get used to it! Allow it to explore the contours of your chin and neck, the razor has a nice side to side, back and forward movement or if you prefer a fixed position is available, I hold my razor close to it’s head placing my thumb on the rest, with index finger behind the head the shaver weighs in at 198g without protective cover. Panasonic say the battery will last approximately 2 weeks. This may well be true if as stated on page 10 of operating instructions (Based on one 3 minute dry-shave); I don’t have heavy stubble even I would be hard pushed to get a nice shave in 3 minutes! The unit is well engineered, good materials used in construction, nicely balanced has a pop-up sideburn trimmer behind the head. My comments are just that, my comments in the hope it helps you choose a shaver for you! Regards, David.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGreat shave
I got this shaver for Christmas to replace my previous 3-blade shaver. I liked my old shaver, but this one is so much better.

    Pros
This shaver feels less rough against my skin, especially on the tougher hairs. It’s very smooth and gives a great cut (the closest I’ve ever had). It’s relatively quiet and doesn’t make noisy crunchy noises when cutting the more difficult stubble. Great battery life compared with the other shaver. Smaller more comfortable handle to grip. Great flexibility in the head motion.
    Cons
Sounds a bit like a mosquito. Requires a bathroom shaver plug (or the shaver plug adapter) to charge – would have liked a regular plug option or USB. All minor quibbles, really!

    Summary
This is a truly great shaver and I would strongly recommend it. I have sensitive skin and this is a quite smooth shave with great results. Fast better than any 5-blade wet shave razor I have used.

    A close shave
This shaver gives a very close shave in a very short time, due to the extremely rapid blade oscillation. However, the down-side to this is a shorter battery life – typically about a week and a half, and a very high-pitched noise from the motor, which I don’t mind, but your neighbours might suspect a mosquito invasion.
My particular unit suffers from periodic additional vibrations, which gives the impression that it will eventually shake itself to pieces.
I have seen some reviews that comment on the fact that the shave experience is quite abrasive on the skin. I did experience a smidgen of redness during the first few shaves, but that soon passed.
Overall, I am impressed with the performance of this model. I particularly like the fact that you can change the head from contour-following to fixed position. The same sliding control also releases the detail trimmer, if pushed all the way. Said detail trimmer is very sharp, unlike my previous Panasonic, which always seemed to snag.

This is my third Panasonic razor and in my opinion they are among the best available.
This model cuts very close with no discomfort at all. Would certainly recommend. Only negative comment is the position of the power switch which is easily turned off mid shave.

I have to admit I’m surprised by this shaver. I’ve had a couple of other “premium” shavers, both over 200, that were all returned.

Now, let’s quickly address the obvious. No electric shaver us going to give you as close or as smooth a shave as doing it with a razer.

That’s why I’ve returned all the others I’ve had, as they were really bad shaves. However this one is a really good shave. The semi floating head adds a lot to the shave I believe. And while yes, it does miss some of the fine hairs around the base if the throat, it does really well elsewhere. It does have a fine shaver on the side as well, so getting most of the finer hairs isn’t a huge issue.

As for the running costs of the shaver, it’s about on par with what i spend over a year on normal Gillette razers. So I don’t really have that much of an issue with the costs. Especially since you don’t “need” the cleaning solution.

Overall I’m really happy with this shaver, especially since its half price fir the prime sale

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersClose Shave
I had a 4 year old Braun Series 5 whose foil I had replaced 3 times. It’s a great shaver but I was keen to move on before buying another foil. I saw this on offer for a great price and read a whole lot of reviews. I decided to go for it but was a little worried about the few reports of skin irritation on the neck area. I have a thick stubble and fairly sensitive skin. I’ve had it for a couple of weeks and initially was a little worried about the effect on my skin as shaving left it feeling irritated, but the skin didn’t look irritated. After a few weeks, my skin must have got used to the shaver as I have no feeling of irritation. A previous review had mentioned this.

So how does it shave? Closer than the Braun Series 5 ever did (but that is a great shaver, so not knocking it). The neck area needs a bit of going over at the right angle / approach but it shaves very well. Chin and face are shaved very close and very well. Under the nose, it’s only possible to get part of the head to make contact, but this does the trick.

Cleaning takes much longer than with the Braun cleaning and charging stand, but the Panasonic stand is much smaller and uses a detergent, rather than an alcohol base. When I say longer, it’s a lot longer period of cleaning and drying, probably because it’s not alcohol based. The Panasonic shaver also came with a shaving oil, which I never had with the Braun. I’ve used it twice and it doesn’t seem to make a huge difference in terms of shaving quality, but probably does assist with the good and longer functioning of the shaver.

All in all, I’m very happy with this purchase, especially at the significantly discounted price I got it for.

This shaver is great value for money.
My previous 2 shavers have been the Braun series 9 and before that the Braun series 7cc.

The Panasonic definitely gives a closer shave than the series 9 and I would say it’s on par with the series 7cc.

I found the shaving head a little bigger then I was used to at the start but have got used to that very quickly.

This shaver is also noticeably quieter in operation than the Brauns.

Battery life isn’t stellar but it charges quickly.

I do miss the ability to shave while the charger is plugged in which I had with the series 7cc but overall this is an excellent shaver and well with the money. Would definitely recommend.

I’m a long time Braun user but when my old shaver started sounding like a jumbo jet taking off it had to go.
Read plenty of reviews and this Panasonic seemed top of the list. And the reviews were correct.
Very close shave. Much quieter than my Braun (even before the silencer broke). I also use it to shave my scalp and it does an excellent job.
    Easy clean under running water

It does what it says it will
I must admit I don’t usually use electric/battery razors a lot, but I have a few scars which are difficult to wet shave so they are ideal for that. But I decided to buy this Panasonic because of its price and reputation the company has. So on receiving the razor the first thing I did was give it a full charge to ensure the battery “trained” it lasts well, feels good and is well built. I recieved . it over a month ago but waited to leave a review, it gives a really and I mean really comfortable close shave, not quite up to the best wet razor shave but very close. So if your thinking of getting a battery razor get this one you won’t be disappointed
12 months on and just thought would update on the razor. Using it one morning and it felt rough, looked at the foil and there is a hole in it which has scraped my skin. I have owned a few electric razors over my lifetime and this had never happened before!!! The cost to replace is 43. So cancel my previous recommendation and avoid like the plague

Replaced wet shaving for ease of travel.
I’ve always wet razor shaved. I’ve tried electric razors a few times, but suffered ingrowing hair issues. After a recommendation, I decided to pay a little bit more for an electric razor and I’m glad I did. This is very good.

The charge is pretty quick (quick 10mins and long charges 1hr) and lasts well over a week using it every day. I’m impressed. It’s also easy to clean, comes in it’s own pouch and the cleaning process is a bonus. I purchased this at a discounted offer price and would not have paid the 300+ for it at full price. I’m very happy with this product and the 90 I paid. A good quality, easy to use and live with product.

    An Electeic Shaver That Works!
Having quite tough, Desperate-Dan-type stubble, I’ve never, in 50 years of looking, found an electric shaver that would have much impact on this old face. Only by repeatedly shaving the same patch could I ever get any results. But it would never be a particularly close shave and would often cause a shaving rash. So I have always used a wet shaver, with the brilliant Apothecary 87 Shave Cream, whenever I wanted a really close shave.

But, clearly, technology has moved on and at last I’ve found an electric shaver, the Panasonic ES-LV67 Wet and Dry shaver, that works extremely well. If the stubble is long and tough – for me that can be even after just 3 days – I do still have to use my wet shaver. But if I just want to keep one of two days’ beard growth under control, then this is now my go-to tool for the job. In that situation, for comfort, I do like to use Apothecary 87’s excellent shave oil before wet-shaving, but, for an electric shave using this Panasonic shaver, the process is now quicker, easier and causes much less discomfort than any shaver I’ve tried before.

The flip-up detaling blade is great for trimming rogue hairs that – for reasons completely unfathomable to me – now seem to sprout from my ears, and for creating a smooth edge wherever needed. I charged it weeks ago and, though it gets used probably every 2 to 3 days, I still have 60% charge left. I’m impressed.

Most electric shavers won’t give as close a shave as you can get with a decent blade and shave cream but this is the nearest thing I’ve found, for those times when I don’t want to attack my face with sharp things.

It’s not cheap, so it was a gamble when I decided to give it a try. But it’s a gamble that has paid off and I highly recommend this shaver.

Does exactly what it says - gives a good shave
The shaver charges quickly and holds a charge all week, so great if you are travelling with work. It fits easily in the hand and the weight of the head helps give a good shave. I have never found an electric shaver that gives the same closeness as a razor; but this gives a great shave either dry or wet. I would happily recommend this as a good electric shaver you can rely on.

This works well, it’s easy to clean and is still working for me a year later after using it every other day. Possibly the best electric shaver I have ever owned
I’ve never been a wet shaver fan and so have pretty much always used electric shavers. I have used everything from budget models to fairly expensive Braun Series models and I can honestly say that this Panasonic shaver gives me the best shave I have ever had, outside of a barber’s cut-throat razor! It’s comfortable to hold, it glides across the skin, and it really does give a close shave. I have tried it both dry and with shaving foam and I really enjoy shaving with the foam. It works well and my skin has never felt irritated. Cleaning the shaver is an absolute doddle. I bought the model with the charging/cleaning unit and this works very well, but it is so easy to rinse the shaver in the sink too, so the charging unit may not actually be necessary. All-in-all I can’t recommend this shaver highly enough. Brilliant!

    Close Shave
After much research I finally took the plunge and ordered this shaver and have not regretted the purchase at all. I previously used to enjoy a wet shave using a trusty double edge safety razor with all the pomp and ceremony that went with it but do to lack of time in the bathroom these days thanks to my growing tweenage daughter I swapped to a Remington rotary shaver and had 12 months of disappointing and painful shaves. So my search began and I was nearly about to order a Braun series 9 and I came across this shaver and all the reviews commented on how close the shave was. The reviews were not wrong, this is the closest shave I have had in a very long time and it is almost comparable to smoothness I was getting with a wet shave. I no longer have any redness or burn when using this shaver which was a daily event with the Remington. The battery life is also very impressive as I am only have to charge is every couple of weeks which I partly put done to the highly efficient sharp blades that take next to no time to shave with. If you are looking for a quick, smooth, close shave this the shaver to get.

Bought for my other half for Xmas. He has essential tremor, so has found shaving has become a problem as his tremor has gotten worse. I thought this looked & sounded perfect for him. He absolutely loves it. He said it gives a really close shave. There’s no pulling of the skin, no shaving rashes & no bits of loo paper stuck to his chin, so I’d say that is definitely a win! He loves the ergonomic glide over the skin, which prevents all of the above. He’s given it a definite thumbs up.

Foil shaving bliss. Moved from rotary
I have been a Philips 3 head rotary shaver for many years and but wanted something better when the blades needed replacing and the battery began to fade. I reviewed the top Philips shavers, Braun shavers and the Panasonic. I couldn’t justify the incredible high prices of the Braun and the reviews for the Panasonic were really good, so I took a leap of faith and bought the Panasonic ES-LV67.

I wasn’t disappointed. The shave is a lot closer than my old Philips 5000 and much gentler on the skin and I can’t imagine that if I paid more than double for the Braun 9 series it would be any better than the Panasonic ES-LV67.

Great price. Great shave. Very happy.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersJust what I wanted
The problem is when you read reviews is which do you believe. All I can say is this is my personal view having used this shaver a few times now.
    1. Shave’s close. I don’t shave every day and two or three days growth with this razor doesn’t seen to be a problem. Can’t see any irritation as it is so smooth over the skin (I have only used dray)
    2. Battery Life. Between charges that seems very good. I could take away for a week (or maybe two shaving evet other day) without a need to recharge.
    3. Cleaning. Easy to clean under the tap or just with the brush and a blow. I use the cleaning system tow or three times a week just for the extra cleaning and anti-bacterial properties.

    Any problems? Well;
    1. The item comes with a 2 pin UK plug. That’s fine if you have a bathroom socket. I haven’t so I had to buy an adapter. With everything being USB this day finding one was not that easy (but you can order from Amazon).
    2. Initially the razor would not charge. I gave the terminals on the Razor and Charging station a clean and everything then worked ok. You could charge, however not using the Charging station. It does indicate in the Manual that the terminals might need a clean.
    3. Quite expensive with the charging/cleaning station but good value from Amazon.

I don’t know yet how often the foil’s will need changing, but compared to the price of Premium blade for wet shavers I don’t see it as that bad. Like wise I don’t know the life of the Lithium battery. I think, from my experience in other devices, the suggested lifespan is somewhat conservative.

Overall, I am amazed at how far Electric shavers have come since my first one.

    Hope this helps.

Very good quality from Panasonic. Amazing gimbal-like feeling on the shaving head. Really well made and properly close shave, unlike some competitors. I used top of the line Philips and this Panasonic gives you so much better, quicker and cleaner shave. Finally, I don’t have to spend 15 minutes shaving just to receive the comment from missis “have you shaved yet?”
You will feel how much better this “Panasonic” shave is.
But time will tell whether it will last.
I used many different electric shavers for the past 15 years, but this is by far the best electric shaver I`ve had.

Genuinely a very good electric shave
This is coming from someone with sensitive skin, usually when I wet shave with a razor I end up with a rash or a cut lower neck. I have been using this product for a while now and I can’t recommend it enough, it is a complete game changer for me and the cleaning station is a big time-saver as well along with the sachets being cheap to buy also. 5 star product!

    The Panasonic ES-LV97 is brillia
I got this shaver for Christmas and I love it! The wet shaving experience with foam is close and comfortable. I’ve always used name brand razors and I must say that the ES-LV97 is the closest to a wet razor shave I could’ve imagined. There’s no irritation afterwards and splashing on aftershave doesn’t sting at all, although I do always use a quality aftershave balm. For someone who’s always used razors I won’t be going back as it’s a close enough shave; plus with good maintenance the blades should last a year. I worked out that buying replacement blades for this shaver is 45. That’s less than I spend on blades for my razor if they do last a year, which hopefully they will. Highly recommended by me and at this price it’s a bargain!

As good as a razor shave.
This shaver feels like quality in your hands. Soft finish with a few nice little gimmicks I haven’t had on cheaper shavers in the past, the self cleaning charging stand is a really nice feature to have.

Well worth the sale price of around 130. But sure I would fork out full price however.

It’s rather ergonomic to use for a facial shave, but no so much for the head, it can be awkward to shave the very top and the back of your skull. However it isn’t marketed as a headbshaver, so I can’t really hold that against Panasonic.

Still, all in all gave as good a shave as I normally get from a razor, without any kind of shaving rash which usually plagues me.

I use this to shave my head every day and with a couple of passes it’s certainly as close as a wet shave, and I much prefer this. No irritation whatsoever when used correctly. Beautiful.

The best electric razor I have used
This is hands down the best electric shaver I have used. I have migrated from Braun (7 series then 9 series) and this is much, much better. I tried a Philishave 9000 briefly which was quiet but didn’t shave well. All have struggled with neck hair but the Panasonic is excellent in this regard. It is wet shave smooth across the entire face. I rarely bother wet shaving now at all.

The only downside is that the replacement blade and foil set is 50! I only discovered this when attempting to replace the blades on the previous model (lv 95) after 4 years of solid use. At 67 in the sale it made sense to replace the entire shaver and sell the old one!

Need a good shaver then get this?
I’ve been through quite a few shavers over the last few years, foil and rotary types from some big names but none of them ever really give a good shave and I have always gone back to a proper wet shave every week or so. That was until I got this Panasonic shaver OMG is this good, as close as a real shave if not better. Yes it’s loud but then it’s doing a lot of work. Shaving is now just a few seconds instead of standing there trying to get the thing to work. It doesn’t miss bits it just works really well. Get the one with the cleaner/charger, pick it up shave, put it back in cleaner unit, press button, come back next day repeat, always clean and dry, perfect. Worth every penny.

    Good for a close shave
I needed a shaver that would give me a close shave with minimal effort and the LV67 does this really well. Therefore this review is not really aimed at those with beards.

Compared to my Philips SensaTouch 3D, the LV67 gives me a closer shave and does it in less time. The SensaTouch 3D has three rotary blades but I find the foil head of the LV67 better for a closer shave around the face. However, the three rotary blades of the SensaTouch 3D are slightly better around the neck area where the stubble grows in different directions. I also tend to dry shave and the LV67 still achieves a close shave for me.

The battery life seems to be quite good as the battery charge indicator hasn’t changed after the first few shaves.

I tend to clean my shavers just using a brush and the foil is removed easily to allow me to do this.

So far, I’m very happy with the LV67.

Golden Review Award: 56 From Our UsersDon't bother with a Braun series 9, get this instead
If you’re looking for a premium shaver it always seems like the two that go head are the Braun Series 9 shavers, and the 5 blade Panasonic shavers like this one.

Well I recently used a Braun Series 9 for about 3 weeks, and that’s gone back to Amazon because the shave I was getting wasn’t worth the money. What arrived afterwards was this Panasonic 5 blade, and after just a few uses I can confidently say it will not be getting sent back.

For a start it’s a whopping 100 cheaper at current prices than the cheapest series 9 you should be considering (don’t get one without a cleaning station).

Next and arguably most importantly, it shaves closer than a Series 9 and has no problems getting at awkward hairs, that Series 9 couldn’t get to properly.

It’s so much easier to clean than a Series 9. Couple of taps on the sink, few swipes with the brush, and maybe a rinse under the tap for good measure, and you’re done. With the Braun Series 9 though, you’ve no hope of getting that thing clean without using the cleaning base, and that means using the cleaning solutions etc. Also lugging about a cleaning station that you have to use is not particularly travel friendly. You’ll want to clean that Braun frequently as well, as it cakes up with hair at the drop of a hat. This Panasonic seems to cake up a lot less. Basically the Panasonic is cleaner to use, easier to clean, and more travel friendly.

Minor little thing, but the Panasonic came with a clip on foil guard to protect that expensive foil, the Braun Series 9, did not. Both came with travel cases, but with the cost of the foils on these, a bit of extra protection is hugely welcome.

The Panasonic’s head moves a lot better, and locks more securely as well. For a start the Panasonic head flexes side to side, and has some in and out movement for the entire head, not just back and forwards like the Braun Series 9. When the head tilts as well, the foils stay in place in relation to the head, this means you get the full benefit of the head flexing, whereas on the Braun the foils retract when the head is flexed, making the flex kind of pointless. Additionally when the Panasonic head locks, it locks, it’s not moving, unless you unlock it, whereas on the Braun it just engages some heavy detents, so the head moves still but just needs more force meaning it can occasionally click out of position.

Alright so now I’ve covered the whole Braun Series 9, vs Panasonic 5 blade thing, what about this shaver in it’s own right?

Well I shave my entire head, if it’s not an eye brow, eye lash, or up my nose, it’s getting shaved off.

For me is the biggest challenge of any shaver for me is the neck and chin, the skin is very sensitive there, but the hair there could probably sand wood, with just a day of growth, and I’m really fussy about shaving this area, as it’s unpleasant rubbing your chin and feeling like you’re swiping the rough side of velcro with the back of your hand. Also a smoother shave makes wearing a cloth mask less of a trying experience as well. However for this area with this shaver, it’s hands down the best electric shave I’ve ever had. The 30 degree curve works for you here, effortlessly getting hairs where chin meets neck, and recessed areas around the windpipe where the skin goes inwards. I’ve never had a quicker, closer, or easier underchin shave with an electric razor. I have had marginally better results with standard razor, but not this quickly and easily, and even then only with a brand new fresh blade.

In terms of shaving my head and face, it gives a great silky smooth shave, but the angle of the blades works slightly against you here, as it reduces the shavers contact patch on the flatter parts where there is nothing between skin and skull. This is easy to work around though in those situations by slightly tilting the shaver so you’re using the side of the blades rather the centre. Ordinarily this would mean you’d be shaving for longer, but the shaver does such a good grab of getting hairs on a single pass, you’ll make that time up in reduced repeat strokes. I thought the massive size of the foil head would lead to areas like directly under my nose, or behind my ears being difficult to get to, but I had no issues at all, I think it’s the multiple directions the head flexes in, that make up for the size there.

As for irritation, none at all. As I mentioned my neck and chin, are prone to sensitivity, but except for a very light tingle afterwards that could as much be due to the vibration from the motor, despite the closeness of the shave, there is no soreness or redness at all. This is with no balms, creams, or anything, just a straight up dry shave.

If I had to nit pick anything, and it’s a trivial thing, the noise… the noise this thing makes is horrible. It’s loud and high pitched, and the first time you turn this thing on, you’re most likely going to wince. Pleased to say though, not so bad when actually in use, but still there, still going to quite often be near your ears, and still possibly the least pleasant sounding shaver I’ve ever used, and shavers as a rule are not pleasant sounding things.

I’ve bought a variety of different shavers over the last couple of years, from rotaries to foils, to expensive Skull Shaver Pitbulls, and obviously the Braun Series 9, to cheap and cheerful Sweetlyf, and Surker’s, but out of all them, this is the one that if it got run over by a truck tomorrow, I’d immediately buy another.

Although this is a quality shaver, it is not recommended for bearded men! At the moment I have a beard and find it easier to shave using a shaver with a smaller head or, of course, a razor. When I’ve decided to get rid of the beard, it will no doubt be excellent.

    Excellent shaver.
I spent a lot of time looking at shavers and eventually thought I would try this one because the price was extremely good at the time. I am not disappointed at all and am actually very impressed. It shaves extremely close, probably as good as a razor. Having 5 blades means it does it quickly and without much effort.
I did buy a Philips 9000 series which actually looks so low quality and cheap in its build, whereas this does look stylish. However, the main purpose of anything is not necessarily to look good, but to perform well and this outperforms the Philips in my opinion.
The cleaning station is useful, but 1 aspect I do not like is when it has finished cleaning (which takes 10 minutes), it takes 80 minutes to do the drying cycle. The only way to stop it is to switch it off at the mains and back on. A poor design in that aspect.
The one concern I did have and still do have is the overall running costs in the future. The blades are ridiculously priced, about 50 for a new unit at the time of writing, but I shall have to see how long they last until needing to be changed. 35 seems to be an average price for new head/blades for the named manufacturers (Philips, Braun, etc.) so it is not massively expensive in comparison, but I think it is an unacceptable way of them getting money within the industry and not just Panasonic. I bought it at 120 so I was happy to try it and see how it goes.
For overall shaving performance I absolutely recommend it, just a shame about the cost of future blades.

    Convenience versus quality of shave.
After a week of dry shaving, I’m unlikely to revert to using a razor blade. Although not as good as a blade, the shave is very acceptable, comfortable and convenient. I intend trying it with a pre-shave cream, supposedly to raise the bristles, but it is a not a game changer.

I’ve always used Philips electric shavers in the past and the Panasonic ES-LV67 surpasses Philips in every way.

The shave is extremely close, but causes zero irritation.
The trimmer works very well cutting sideburns.
It’s extremely easy to clean, no more removing three individual blades and fiddling to get it back together (like the Philips).

I have had two of the range Bruan shavers over the last 5 or 6 years, and I wish I had bought Panasonic now I have discovered this. Both Braun had technical faults and went wrong, and they don’t shave as comfortably or as well as this.
The speed of the motor makes a big difference, but also you get a closer more comfortable shaving experience. Really easy to clean well, because unlike the braun, you can break the shaver foil head down further to expose the moving parts to wash.

Very close shave but could irritate skin if youre not careful
Ridiculously close shave , the closest i have had from an electric shaver and in my opinion as close as a razor. The only reason I give it 4 stars rather than 5 is it could irritate your skin and spares are pricey. First time I used it my skin felt a bit tingly and weird and it actually cut my chin. I realised however that my previous shaver wasnt very good and i had to hold it firmly against my face to get an average shave which is what I did with this one out of habit. When i used it for a 2nd and 3rd time I held it with far less pressure and it still shaved brilliantly without any irritation. So I would recommend it for a very close shave but just be careful with pressure against your face and you should be ok. Well made shaver with good build quality, made in Japan not China, that feels good in the hand and looks good too. Recommended.

    Super shave but noisy
Having used Philips and Brain shavers for the past 7 years, I thought I would try Panasonic to see how it competed.
It definitely wins for providing a close shave and is clearly better than the other 2 brands. However because they have chosen to use a high speed linear motor, it is much noisier than either of the others in use.
It has a very effective cleaning process which leaves the shaving head shining clean. Sadly again the noise during the 10 minute (instructions say 6minutes) cleaning process reverberates around the house. I have taken to switching it on just before we leave the house.
It then goes into a long drying process,- I’ve not timed it precisely but it is many tens of minutes (instructions say up to 3 hours).
So, it shaves better than it’s competition but the noise may put you off

After 35 years of using Braun foil shavers (Series 7 and 9 most recently), I gave the Panasonic a try as Amazon had a special offer too good to pass up. I’m happy I did, because this shaver has a much closer shave than my Brauns did. I doubt I will go back

It does require more careful passes to ensure it goes against the hairs’ grain, and does pinch a little bit more and require after shave to soothe the irritation (most of the time with the Braun I could get away without using after shave).

I’ve used a lot of electric shavers over years and let’s face it, most are rubbish. This one is different, it actually gives you a close shave that lasts all day. I’ve had more expensive shavers from Braun but they were no match for this.

    Very impressed
I’m a 59 year old man and I have been using foil shavers for most of my adult life. I have a pretty heavy growth but also a very sensitive neck. Not a great combination for shaving. I quickly found out that wet shaving with a razor cut my neck to shreds. Tried a rotary shaver and it was worse than a man short for me. So that left me with the option of foil shavers.
Since then I have used a series of Braun or Remington shavers with various degrees of success. But none of them were truly satisfactory for me. Was still getting razor burn on my neck and the shavers would miss many hairs and it took you forever going over your face and neck to get anywhere close to a reasonable shave but even then it wasn’t great. I finally worked out a system about 15 years ago to only shave every second day. I then used an older type Remington trimmer on my two day growth and then quickly went over my face again with a Braun shaver. That was the only solution for me to get a reasonable shave without much burn on my neck. But that wasn’t suitable at times when you had to shave every day.
So when the foil on my Braun shaver went and I looked at the replacement prices I decided to finally try another shaver. Picked this Panasonic shaver eventually despite mixed reviews that every shaver seems to have. But I have to say I’m extremely impressed so far with this shaver and without a shadow of a doubt it’s the best foil shaver I have used in my life. First few shaves have been very good and quick without really any burn at all. I have left two days to shave as well and it still gives a good shave without going over your face and neck time and time again. As with every shaver it will never be as smooth a finish as a wet shave with a razor but to me this shaver gets as close as you can get to this. Never really recommended anything else on Amazon but I have been so impressed by this Panasonic shaver I had to recommend this for people like me that have never really had a satisfactory experience with foil shavers. Give it a go.

This has been a revelation to me! An electric shaver which can shave so close as to be easy to compare with a “normal” wet razor. I have been using electric shavers for some time now and was sorry when my old one gave up the ghost. I replaced it with a similar one but was deeply disappointed with the results. This one, however, although a little noisy, is excellent! I have not used the “cleaning” process yet so cannot comment on that feature but I expect it to be good. I haven’t used an electric shaver in many years, so I’m impressed with this one.
It misses less hairs than they used to, I still have to do two or three passes in the awkward spots but it’s all good.
    The little trimmer is excellent.
The stand (people say it’s a gimmick) I think is excellent, it’s works as advertised and makes charging easy. I still take off the head and rinse the parts off in the sink/shower before using the cleaning function.
For the price, I’d expect more than a single satchet of fluid though.
The oil is a small bottle, though goes a long way.
Works better dry than wet in my opinion, but I’ve not tried using gell yet.

Very pleasantly surprised with this. Haven’t used an electric shaver for 40 years, when I changed to wet shaving as electric always caused a rash on my neck. I have been using this for a couple of weeks and only now is it ready for a recharge. Very comfortable to use. Don’t think I will return to wet shaving now. This shaver is brilliant! This is simply the BEST shaver I’ve ever had. It removes stubble and whiskers effortlessly and doesn’t involve having to go over and over areas to get a good result. I highly recommend it .

    Better than I expected.
For many years I had been using a Braun series 3 through several changes of cutter head and now well overdue for another change but the battery was failing. I’m sure that any replacement would have given a better shave. The best reviews were for the Series 9 or the Panasonic.
Having decided on the Panasonic, I’m very impressed with the smoothness of the shave.
I am using it with a pre-electric lotion that provides some lubrication.

Top razor which is so fast compared with my previous one. A nice close shave without hassle.
Very fast razor and can cope with reasonable size stubble. Gives a really nice close shave. I haven’t used the cleaning dock yet but my first impressions are this is an excellent product.

    Simply the bes
Ive had umpteen electric razors over the years but nothing comes close (literally) to the Panasonic, I had the last gen one, not sure whats different between the LV95 and the ES97 but it’s absolutely brilliant! Fast, close smooth shave, no irritation whatsoever.

    Great Shave
This shaver gives a really good close shave. It is very comfortable shave, no redness or sore spots, and you don’t have to keep going over the same area time and again as it gives a good shave on first pass. Very minor criticism is that the battery life could be a bit better. Overall, very happy with this shaver, better than my previous shaver (a braun). Happy to recommend this shaver.

Great price for top flight shaver.
This is superb. I bought another for my son. What can Braun do better for around triple the price on their 5 blade electric shaver? I shall never find out. I don’t need to know!

    Excellent !
As usual, another superb product from Panasonic!, The shaver came with a full set of clear instructions & cleaning kit. I have just recharged the battery after nearly a month of daily use, the shave is as good as a wet shave!

A great s close and clean shave
This is the best electric shaver I have ever owned, and that covers most of the well known options over about 50 years ! I am familiar with the Panasonic formula- but having the easy cleaning tank makes a significant difference, and I automatically use this everyday.
For me the choice between electric and trad shaver hasn’t been relevant for several years, so I am not best placed to recommend one or other – suffice to say that I get a very close, comfortable and clean shave with this Panasonic.

    Comfortable.
This is my third Panasonic. They are expensive when new, so I only buy superseded models. The five blades make for a quick, comfortable shave. It’s a bit noisy – wailing like a banshee.

A good shaver that feels nice in your hand.
First impressions are good, I have used it three times so far and find it very easy to use fairly quiet It also sits nicely in the hand, three shaves have brought the battery charge down from 100 percent to 80 percent, so the battery consumption seems very reasonable, if it stay’s consistent I will be more than happy with my purchase.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersHas even turned an electric razor skeptic into a fan.
I’ll start off by saying that I’ve been on the hunt for an electric shaver for years without success. Getting my face ripped up by ever more elaborate multi blade safety razors finally became too much so I tried my first electric shaver about 15 years ago, a Braun series 3 and it was useless for anything more than a days growth, and to be honest not that good with a days growth. I moved to double edged safety razors and they worked well but still took too much time some mornings.

I kept dipping into the Electric shaver market and tried various mid range models from Braun (old style series 5 was decent, but not great) Philips (cut long hairs better but not great on closeness) and Panasonic (an arc3 model which was close but not good with flat lying hairs). In general the shavers seem to be improving and the 67 was being sold at a good price with good reviews. Never tried a top of the range shaver but despite the decent price the 67 is basically the top of Panasonics range, but without the cleaning station.

Well I’m glad that I took the plunge, its beating my expectations, its close, doesn’t irritate my skin and fast. Yes the motor sounds like a demented bumble bee on speed but its relatively quiet compared to other shavers. The head looks huge on photos but its actually not too bad, its easy to move around and the blades are thinner than my other shavers, 4 of the 5 blades take up the same space as my 3 cutting elements on the Braun series 5. I do wish the width of the head was thinner but that’s my only issue.

    Overall definitely recommended.

Brilliant shave for a tough beard
After developing an annoying rash from wet shaving with a blade, thought I’d give this a try. I already have a battery travel shaver, but it’s a single foil, about 25 years old and doesn’t shave that well.

I’ve been very impressed with this Panasonic one, so much so, that I won’t be going back to wet shaving.

I have very tough, thick whiskers; my five o’clock shadow is like sand paper, but this shaver glides around and gives me a great close shave with little effort.

I don’t have to press hard at all and you can hear the motor adjusting itself over tougher areas. The shave is just as close as a blade, if not closer.

It does miss the odd long hair if lying totally flat, but easy to pick those off with the trimmer, as it has a very fine profile.

I’ve had no irritation shaving dry which is very comfortable, but for an ultra smooth experience I wet my face with warm water and a few drops of baby oil.

The shaver is so easy to clean too, the head pops of easily and just rinse under the tap. There’s an ultrasonic mode to avoid splashing and let the water get in deep. It always looks spotless before I start shaving. I don’t think a cleaning station is necessary.

Bonus: because I’m not leaning over hot water to shave now, glasses don’t steam up!

I’ve been a wet shaver for years, but it looks like technology has caught up. I’ll be using my lovely double-edge razor and brush as quaint decoration now.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersProbably the best razor I ever owned
This is probably the best razor that I ever owned and I’m 55 years old.
I also used rotary razors from a famous brand, but I decided to give this ago and I’m glad I did.
The closeness of the shave is close to that of a blade one, the battery lasts for days and I really can’t fault this razor on anything.
Obviously everybody knows that different beards react in different ways to different razors, but for me this one is perfect.
Please be aware that the reviews in here are not all for the same model, they are for all the different models sold, this one is the ES-LV65-s, make sure you read the review relevant for the odel that you’re looking at.

The closest shave on the marke
Very close shave, the blades are definitely more aggressive than other shavers (they are angled differently to other brands). You do get used to this after a few days.
The battery is probably good for a week.
The shaver looks good but is plastic. However it has little weight and so is easy to hold.
The cleaning station uses water. This is good for the environment (no plastic cartridges) and is also significantly cheaper compared to cartridge systems. However because it is water it takes longer to dry. Also, the manual states that below 15 Celsius the shaver may not dry in the cleaning station. Obviously alcohol based systems do not have this problem. The simple solution is to remove the shaver from the cleaning dock to where the air can dry it.
The shaver is a wonderful piece of Japanese design and engineering, with a fully pivoting head, light and also is not very noisy compared to other brands (it sounds like a loud mosquitoe).
One little thing is you can occasionally accidentally switch off the shaver when in use because of the location of the power button.
Battery life is a bit shorter than competition but the the shaver operates much faster than the other brands (14000 movements per second).
I would say that if you shave every day this Panasonic shaver is the best there is for closeness and speed. If you shave every 2 days or more then Braun 9 may be better as the Braun deals with longer hairs better.
    I can recommend this product.

So much better than I expected.
I was unsure about the razor as I’d tried electric razors previously and found them to be crap, after the first use of this one I was very happy with the results. Not quite as good as a wet shave with a razor but close enough and only takes 30 seconds.
