Built to last. Goto brand for aircrew.
Having purchased Samsonite suitcases in the past, I know they are built to last. It’s not uncommon for the same suitcase to still be going fifteen years later. After trying an inferior brand, I have decided to return to Samsonite. There is a reason why most major Middle Eastern carriers issue Samsonite suitcases to their crew. They last.

I find polycarbonate cases though very light tend to damage easily, hence I much prefer polyproylene — which ironically tends to be cheaper than polycarbonate. This case is very light though, plus a Samsonite. At the price point I got it for I definitely would repeat buy if another such case was required.

    Brilliant case
We got this as I already have one and the other half wanted the same one in a pretty colour! Quality is fantastic, as Samsonite tend to be, already taken it on a holiday and it was perfect. Amazing price too, going to buy another soon!

I love the semi-hard-shell concept! It’s light and self-healing with remarkable capacity! Feels sturdy enough!
It provides enough protection for your goods and clothing!
After registration, you receive five years warranty. What else do you need?!?

    good, but..
I had this suitcase in colour orange and very happy with it. Ordered one in black – with this new on, the outside of the suitcase has become so scratched right after first trip..a bit disappointing, however, it mights be a colour issue, it shows more on black.

I’ve just bought the 81x55x35 size, which looks huge as I’m only used to cabin size! I’ve got the cabin sized S’cure and love it so hoping this will be as good.
I noticed lots of people are complaining about the lock and no instructions. Just a heads-up… the Samsonite video about the locking mechanism is on the Amazon page, just above these reviews.

    Not really a hard shell
The case looks good and is light. I needed a case with a very hard shell to cope with the thousands of miles travelling. Although it looks good it shell is quite flexible and can be pushed in, not really suitable to carry fragile items.

International trip – luxury and safari and it was fantastic. A little scratched and scuffed but still looks great and the wheels roll well on most surfaces except pebbles! I am pleased I went for black colour as it doesn’t show wearmarks. Just tie a bright colour ribbon on the handle during transit as everyone has a black case! The excellent seal means it’s dust free after the bush track to remote safari lodge. I put in my own personal 3 digit security pin and that worked so well for peace of mind. No risk of zips being split and content spilling out and being stolen or los

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersNot the cheapest but certainly THE BEST
We have a couple of Samsonite hard suitcases that we bought new about 16 years back. To say that they are well traveled is an understatement! In all their travels over the years, the only problem was a side flap lock got damaged by airport luggage handlers. Got in touch with Samsonite and the damaged part was quickly sent out to replace.
There are lots of cheaper cases out there but the amount of abuse these older cases have taken over time is testament to their quality.
The new Samsonite swivel case we purchased is more convenient for us now with the swivel wheels and are lighter in weight but still excellent quality. At the end of the day, you get what you pay for. If you are a frequent flyer or travel a lot, it’s money well spent.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersA welcome return to hard sided luggage.
We had a pair of Samsonite hard side cases for probably close to 20 years, but declining luggage allowances on many airlines meant they just became too heavy to use. We reluctantly changed to a pair of Antler soft sided expandable cases a few years ago, but they simply don’t last, so here we are, back in the world of Samsonite hard sides.
We chose these particular cases for their clamshell locking system. It’s the same system as on our previous Samsonites and we’ve found it to be durable, reliable and 100% waterproof. For me, the weak point of any case is the zip; they’re likely to be the thing that breaks first, they’re easy for a thief to get through and they’re not waterproof. These cases are little more than half the weight of our previous Samsonites (although they do weigh a kilo or so more than our soft sides), they’re incredibly manoeuvrable and they look great. The internal dividers make them easy to pack and the lack or lining in the shells will help with long-term durability.
Amazon offered these at the lowest price we could find and we got them on 5 months interest free (although, curiously, you can only buy one on interest free, so the wife and I had to buy one each!).

Love my Samsonite suitcases. These self locking bags are the best. While not that light in weight, they close securely and protect items inside really well. Delighted with the size and durability of the case. Highly recommend.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersAfter 10 years, still using
I chose this because I knew polypropylene was a very robust material, hoping it would survive longer than other materials such as PCB and polycarbonate.
In fact, I have been using it for 10 years, and there’s no problem so far.
(More precisely, I have been using size L for 10 years, and M for 8 years.)
Unfortunately, S’Cure line is now discontinued. I recommend you to get one while it lasts. It is definitely worth it.

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersNo Instruction for TSA Lock and Side Closures!!
NO INSTRUCTION for side closures and TSA lock, what nonsense in the name of being ‘GREEN’.

‘No Printed Instruction’ is counter productive, similar to cleaning dishes in a bowl of soapy water that is often mirky, greasy and full of food bits, and then NOT bothering to rinse the soapy dishes with clean running water because you want to save money or be ‘green’. While a piece of printed card is ‘saved’ by the manufacturer, consumers are forced to waste time and use electricity to hunt down the instructions on their device.

As a consumer, I EXPECT instructions to be with the item, this is NOT asking much. I do NOT want the hassle of scanning the QR code to find other information, I am not particularly tech obsessed and not glued to my phone 24/7. Likewise, I really don’t need an app for everything!!

As a result of this ‘Green’ madness, I had to waste time making my own document with instructions for future reference. I also discovered that the 2 side closures must also be slid downwards after they are latched, otherwise, they can become easily unlatched. No matter how intuitive the feature may appear, this crucial safety information should be provided as part of the instructions to avoid any catastrophic accident.

Yes, videos are helpful as a backup option, but lack of printed instructions with the product is UNACCEPTABLE.

    Capacity
Just come back from a week in Crete and used the suitcase for the first time. The case holds an enormous amount and one could, very easily, go overweight. Our limit was 22Kg and we came in at 21.8Kg, but had enough clothes etc for both of us. The locking mechanism is secure and is easy to set up. The case was very easy to move about on it’s wheels. It is a heavy case so beware when lifting! It has survived the trip to Crete and my wife and I are very happy with our purchase.

As expected it got thrown about a bit and was slightly dinted when i collected it from the airport. Which corrected it self once i opened it and retuned to the original case i had no other problems when traveling home.

    On The Case
Having owned Samsonite cases before we needed a set more up to date with TSA locks, these cases are ok but not a patch on the older in my opion more sturdy cases, in saying that these are easy to move around but not so easy to man handle and do take up more room when transporting, they are light weight for a solid case but you have to be careful not to overfill due to weight restricions on some airlines

    Suitcase
OverallI really like the suitcase. Seems to be well made and easy to use when full.
My only small gripe is it isn’t easy to see the numbers on the lock and sometimes that main lock can sticks shut. A light tap and seems to do something as it works ok after that.

    Light heavyweigh
I packed the suitcase up till 30kg, and it still handled beautifully, gliding along beside me. It handles very easy, even when heavily packed. I went through two airports and a city centre twice.
One minus is the clumsy finish on the end-hinges – initially I thought a bit had splintered/knocked off, but then realised it looked the same on the other side.
Although the lock did work well, I get a bit nervous about it not working one day.
It has a few scratches after my travels, but still looks good.

Great product. Is probably as large as a suitcase can be, but with a family of 5 that is very much needed. No zippers to close, rather 3 locking buckles that work really well after you get used the them. I ordered a 2nd slightly smaller size after using this one for a few trips.

Very happy with this suitcase. Allows me to own the airport treadmills even with a 25kg suitcase in tow! One thing to take into consideration for any neat freaks out there is that the bag will likely get scuffed over time due to the material being plastic. I really don’t care as long as the contents inside are safe but thought it worth mentioning. Probably best to go with darker colours – I really like the dark blue!

I just purchased this luggage from Amazon. I am really satisfied with how my parcel arrived – suitcase looking very sturdy and also nice, to every little detail. The material looks really well-manufactured, the wheels are so easy to maneuvre and the style of the product is also great!

The locks seem also very secure and easy to use – probably much more hassle-free than the zippers, or extra padlocks. I have bought many suitcases over the years as I travel often, and this one seems to be worth of her money more than any other. Can’t wait to use it for my next trip!

    Light but well made
Light and easy to handle, with a quality feel. The top surface feels a little flimsy at first, as it can be easily pressed in and out. However, I road tested the case on a long-haul to South Africa and it was excellent. The ‘give’ in the lid ensures that it doesn’t get dented, as it springs back into shape. Surface texture also seems to resist marks (unlike the hard shiny cases). A zipped upper compartment allows you to keep items separate from the main body of the case, but apart from a narrow zipped pocket which runs the length of the main body of the case, there is little additional equipment inside, keeping weight to a minimum. The closures and locking system feel solid and secure and there is a watertight seal around the whole of case to prevent water ingress. I chose a case without a zip closure, as these are always the first part to fail and I have had a couple of disasters with them. This case feels very secure. The wheels are efficient and do not stick out to far, so there is less risk of them getting damaged than on some makes. In the final analysis, you get what you pay for and Samsonite is worth the money.

Noticeably better than the budget brands
This suitcase is clearly superior to the cheaper brands you’ll find on Amazon; Cool life, aerolite and amazon basics e.g. which feel flimsy in comparison, as do the suitcases you can pick up cheaper in TK Maxx. But for 2.5 times the price I did expect it to feel a little sturdier than it does. I guess light weight is more important now with baggage allowances being quite strict. Overall I’m satisfied and it feels like a suitcase that’ll serve me well for a several years but I’ve given it 4 stars because it feels like a relatively simple product like this should be cheaper.

The suitcase is very light and simply designed. I had my doubts about the lack of pockets, but turned out actually to be more beneficial this way.

The locking system is easy to use, and I personally prefer locks over zipper. Wheels are sturdy and smooth. The handle is strong. It could extend a little further, but I guess this way it keeps the handle securer under the heavy weight. Very easy to clean.

The suitcase overall quality is excellent!

I love this case. It is in a pretty colour which I wasn’t really fussed about but I wanted an unusual one in order to spot it on the carousel. There were nicer colours available but some of them were nearly double the price of this one so happy with the aqua blue. I wanted a giant case as I’m off to the Arctic in February and I want to take my own cold weather clothing as I don’t want to hire.

Sturdy & light weight but has a weird lock
I’ve only used it once now but so far it served the purpose greatly. I had no problem fitting all my stuff inside it and moving with it on the streets of London with ease and it survived being handled during my flight very well. The lock worked fine but it gives a sound when the right combination of numbers is reached which I found a bit strange and undesirable.

    A great buy!
Very impressed with these suitcases. I bought two and they have just come through three weeks of long-haul air and sea travel with flying colours (no pun intended!). Massive amount of space inside, sturdy yet really lightweight and they are very easy to wheel around on all surfaces apart from thicker carpets.

Good quality - Idiot baggae handle
Had 2 of these suitcases for 3 years, however this time the baggage handler opened the wheel handle by about 150mm, so when it came down the ramp onto the baggage carousel the handle bent and weakened, had to order another for a matching pair and also the overall quality of the case minus airport baggage staff

    A perfect size and weight!
We have the X-Large version of this suitcase and required the smaller one for hand luggage and it’s the perfect size! It’s fits nicely in the over head luggage area, no squashing required!
And there is so much room in the case and easily fits clothes, books and snacks!

It moves so easily and is a great quality. It’s definitely worth the money.

    Good strong and easily manageable.
Excellent suitcase, love this manufacturers strong suitcases. We still have one we bought 20 years ago, but it only has 2 wheels and a small pulling handle, but is still solid and functional. Replacement purchased due to 4 wheels and long pulling handle.

    Help!
This case is beautiful, and very well designed and made.
I asked Amazon to take it back only because I went into hospital and – in the confusion – it turned out that she had already bought a case but I had not been told.
So, somewhat sadly, I returned the case today. However, at the front of a long queue in the post office, the return code (barcode) could not be recognised by either the Post Office scanner.
I was told to ask Amazon to send another code – but has anyone in here ever found a phone number or email for Amazon?
Please let me know if there is any way of speaking to a human in Amazon?
    Thanks, in hopeful anticipation,
    Peter H

    Cool looking,practical and lightweight.
Samsonite always a quality buy in my opinion,I managed a 4 day trip with this as friends had not booked hold luggage, the lock looks a bit fiddly but that could be me,I never lock cases these days.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersLightweight sturdy suitcase
Samsonite is always a safe choice and you can expect good quality. I use this as a suitcase for business trips and take it with me on the plane. A bit disappointed it has no pockets inside, which means I need to carry small things like cufflinks in a separate bag. Otherwise a good suitcase.

    Strong and long lasting.
I bought one of these in France in 2016. It has been a joy! Safe, strong and withstands the God awful baggage handlers everywhere I go. I have just bought another one for long haul flights so I have them matching. I’d love a similar in hand carry size but haven’t seen any. Shame!

    Great suitcase
I’ve been looking at investing in a new suitcase for a while and spent a time looking into a number of brands/models. Finally settled on this and am very happy with my purchase. The case itself is very light, easily manoeuvrable and secure. On the first use, the suitcase came back with a large dent which easily popped back out again.

The only con is that it’s a shame this case doesn’t have some lining/extra pockets.

    Superlight - great quality
I travel for work often for 1-2 nights, this is perfect. Light, the material expands slightly because is not a rigid one and gives you some kind of flexibility without compromising in sturdiness and safety. Still the best brand in this market.

Robust and good quality - very happy
Very robust design lightweight and easy to use. Good quality and perfect size for a week away. Instructions for setting the lock unnecessarily difficult and I had to search on line for help. It was actually dead easy once I knew how to do it.
