Handy tool!
as babies feed 8-10 times a day, this machine is useful as it prepares the bottle within 2 mins. Initially I thought that formula will go in the machine, but all it does is warming up water for you which is still helpful! so the steps are 1. place the bottle and the machine will pour hot water 2. I will add formula and shake/stir 3. place it back at the machine to add cold water and then is ready!

The ‘baby cappuccino maker’ is the best baby purchase I have made.
Makes life so much easier, especially as a single mum. No waiting around for bottles to cool.
Just make sure you have bottle of distilled white vinegar in the cupboard for descaling – as it won’t work when it needs descaling

A must have for all new parents
As new parents we honestly can’t recommend this machine any more.
At first i decided that I would make all formula by hand using boiled and cooled water etc as recommended. However this was a nightmare at 3am with a screaming baby.
This prep machine takes all the hassle out of feeding. Press the button once with a bottle under the spout and it adds a shot of boiling water, add the powder, swirl it, pop it back under and press the button again and you’ve got a bottle at the perfect temperature for your baby to drink from. All in around 2/3 mins.
Health visitors don’t recommened these machines due to the potential build up of bacteria in the system, but if you use the cleaning programme on it regularly, it shouldn’t ever be an issue.
If you’re on the fence about spending 80+ on this prep machine, go for it, it’ll make your life so so much easier.
Prep Machine
Very expensive and the light doesn’t come kn to tell you when it needs cleaning and a new filter. I now make all my bottles of milk in a morning and refrigerate, as I didn’t find the the time tippee prep machine that good. It also didn’t get as warm as my baby likes it.
If you bottle feed you need this. Idk how we ever coped before!
I absolutely love this prep machine. I’ve seen a few people complaining about the noise. Which it is slightly noisy however it’s not as bad as some have described it to be. The pros far outweighs the con! I recommend this to any bottle feeding mama

What is life without a prep! We went onto formula when our baby was two weeks as breastfeeding didn’t work out. The perfect prep seriously changes your life and allows you to make up a feed easily and quickly. The only downside is that the smallest amount you can make is 4 ounces which is fine once you’re at that stage. We had to cut his feed back at 9 weeks to less than four ounces due to his reflux.
Have only used these with Tommee Tippee bottles but the adjustment stand would probably be fine for other types.
Seriously though. Parents that are formula feeding MUST get one of these.

This is a life saver. Bought this for when my grandson visited. He used to get so worked up waiting for me to boil the kettle then we had to mix his formula and cool it down. This allows the feed to be made up almost instantly. He hears the machine and knows whats coming. Would recommend

In love with this product. Whoever came up with this idea is a genius. I have 3 kids already and didnt have anything like this. With my 4th child this is brilliant, so easy to use and ready in 2 mins so handy and helpful especially during early hours of the night. Every parent needs one.
Life saver!
This machine is a godsend and probably the best piece of baby equipment I bought.
It’s really easy to use and although it requires (minimum!) action from you in between the hit shot and the cool water top up, you can do it one handed while you hold the baby.
The only thing I’d change is turn down the volume on the bottle-ready signal but then again it doesn’t seem to bother the baby so I guess it’s purely cosmetic.
Feed ready in seconds a god send
Since I’m on to baby number 3 I wanted something to make life easy. Lots of mums and dads had recommended this and wow it is amazing!
So easy to set up and so easy to use.
The beep for when the water is dispensed is really loud which is ok when in the kitchen but I bet is really loud if In your bedroom.
It is a god send for when baby is screaming for a feed and this is done at the right temp in under a minute.
Take it from a mummy of 3 babies this is a must have
Make middle of the night bottle making, bearable.
I make a bottle in 4 mins using microwave sterilising bags (3 mins in the microwave) then this makes the bottle in around 1 min. Speed is invaluable when trying to make a bottle for a screaming new born. Make sure you practice making a bottle with it before you have the newborn!!!
Must-have for bottle feeders
Completely necessary for people bottle feeding. Cuts out all the faffing about cooling and heating water and bottles etc, saves lots of time.
Wish I could turn down or off the beep.

Honestly, I dont know how we could live without it! It makes parents life soooo mich easier, especially when all you want at night times is a quick feed and catching up some sleep… no more measuring correct amount of water, warminh down or cooling down the bottle…

Buy it, and buy the PROPER filters
Was a bit hesitant to buy after reports of black mould on BBC watchdog programme but seems after investigating that some people were using generic filters that fit rather than the official ones, the official filters are kinda expensive but they last for 3 months. Had my machine for 2 kids now and i’m always checking for the mould but so far so good. Which is great because The machine is a MASSIVE time save
doesn't make less than 4floz
Love the machine very easy to use, however it should be capable of making less than 4floz (120ml) our daughter can manage that much yet and we are having to pour away milk after every feed. The bottle provided starts at 1floz so the machine should do the same!!
Apart from that its great, just a very annoying feature.
A must have for formula feeds
This is by far the best purchase out of everything we bought for our baby. Easy to use, easy to clean/change filters and most importantly – milk in 2 minutes, which is perfectly mixed every time. It is so worth the money and we could not be without it.
Makes a milk bottle in no time
Brilliant. You have to run cleaning cycle first before start using machine. Very easy. If not sure how to do this you can always watch video online. Makes a bottle in no time. My only concern was that after instant hot water shot, machine adds cold water, but it is well filtered and as safe as boiled one. So far works for us well

I couldn’t recommend this item any more. It saves your life when your little one is screaming for milk. As long as you clean it often and properly I don’t see the harm in using it. The cleaning cycle is a right clart on but worth the everyday use.
We ordered this following so many recommendations from friends, family and online reviews. Granted, it definitely makes preparing formula bottles much easier. We have found pros and cons to it:
Pros:
– cuts the time of prepping formula milk as it makes it the perfect temperature.
– pretty compact unit so fits on the drawers in the nursery ready for night feeds.
– easy to use at 3am when you’re sleep deprived and not thinking straight
– you can use this to make yourself a cheeky cup of tea in the night while you’re feeding and settling your baby (it will be the perfect drinkable temperature straight away, no waiting for it to cool down)
– the other version with the nightlight built in would be a waste of money, as the stop start button on this glows pretty bright anyway
Cons:
– the beep on this is sooo loud, it startled our baby which isn’t great in the early hours of the morning.
– it’s a bit faffy to set up but once it is set up it’s fine
– the smallest amount it makes is 4oz – if you’re wanting less you’ll have to figure out how to get it to the right temperature by starting and stopping the cycle a lot
– it would get five stars if it dispensed the formula as well…then it would be the PERFECT prep machine!
Great system but beeps loudly!
Great system and decent value for money considering it can be used right up until 11oz bottles. One gripe is that the beeping on the machine is a bit loud, just wish it could be turned down; I’m considering finding the speaker to tape it up!
One thing to note, the instruction pages seemed to be out of order i.e steps on page 4 were continued on page 2. Wasn’t a major issue, just worth noting!
Amazing invention + trick to override overheating

Regarding the overheating safety feature (the machine won’t disperse any water if it gets too hot). I’ve also experienced this. Tricks to override it include:
– place machine away from direct sunlight
– place machine away from areas that will create heat (hobs/kettles/ovens)
– put a number of ICE CUBES in the unit to rapidly decrease the unit temperature – This one works a treat.
Life save
The instructions are in the wrong order which makes the initial set up a bit of a mine field working out which number and picture on each page follow each other. But once you get the hang of it and have done it a few times it’s easy. So much easier, quicker and less stressful than boiling kettle to makebottles then putting them in cold water to cool down. Wish they’d been around for my older children!

Takes 2mins to make a fresh bottle no more screaming baby waiting for a reheated bottle. It’s like a coffee machine you just press the button the hot water comes out, add your powdered milk shake bottle, put back under machine press button and this makes a bottle the exact temperature for your baby to drink!! No need to test the temperature or wait for it to cool down. Love this do yourself a favour purschase before baby arrives if bottle feeding.

Makes a bottle of milk to perfect temperature in seconds .no messing with bottle warmers or kettles .set the dial to the size in fluid oz of the bottle you want to make .the machine first makes a hot shot of water to sterlise the milk powder then the rest of the water comes on the second push of the button bringing the temperature to the perfect rate.you have to change a filter in it every month it will tell you when it needs changing .

I can not tell you how many times I have said a pray of thanks to the perfect prep.
My first child was born before these were invented and I dreaded the 3am feed, either you set an alarm, snuck out of bed made a bottle and waited for the baby to wake up or you would have a wailing baby on your hands before you could get a bottle to them, which took hours to calm down.
Just after my second was born the perfect prep was launched, it was a God send, baby wakes up and you can literary roll out of bed and get a bottle to then in less then 5 mins, that is including the zombie walk to the kitchen.
When I had my third baby (4 years later), a perfect prep was top of my list of things to get.
Life saver!
This has been an absolute life saver for us, we did a week of doing bottles the “old fashioned way” and with a screaming baby who just wants to be fed there and then it’s a big faff. In comes the premachine which makes a bottle in minutes! … only downside is you have 2 minutes to insert powder into hot shot of water before it goes off and you have to start again. It helps to have the powder ready in a little pot beforehand as you then have to give it a good ole’ shake.
We’re yet to clean this machine but it’s understandable that it needs a deep clean every month to prevent build up.
Would recommend one of these to any parent who has a newborn.
Bought for second child and love it! The baby is screaming hungry at 4am? You are trying to warm a bottle or cool it down as you are half asleep and who can make a perfect temperature bottle in that state? Your baby is making that funny warbling cry that cuts through the whole neighbourhood? Had that first time round, this machine allows you to press a button twice and about 40 seconds later you have a bottle ready to go! Yes it can seem pricey (hint…… buy it on offer) but it gets used A LOT and it really makes a difference all day round, not just at 4am!

Was unsure about buying this as i was having my 3rd child and managed ok without it before but my gosh it is brilliant. Worth every penny. The first one we received didn’t work which we didn’t realise until baba was here but it was so easy to return the faulty item to Amazon and they issued a replacement straight away. Great service!

This item has probably been the best purchase I have made when we had our little one. The fact that it makes the formula ready to consume instantly and all within 2 mins is worth its weight in gold. Especially during the night when the little one wants their feed. The last thing you want to be doing is standing there boiling water and then waiting for it to cool all whilst the little one is crying their eyes out. I would honestly recommend this to all parents who are not breast feeding.

Wish I’d bought this earlier! Was unable to breast feed and initially spent money on the ready made bottles of formula. The powdered formula took ages to make up using the kettle and instructions. So decided to give this prep machine a go….and it’s been a life saver!! Wish I’d purchased it earlier. Easy to use. Easy to set up. Has made feeding a lot easier.
OK – this is so useful that I can’t imagine life without it. Making up a bottle is so easy and quick. Can make up bottles whilst holding the baby in one hand at 3AM is something that you appreciate as soon as you get to it.
The beeps are a tad loud – but no-one in the house has been disturbed by them since the machine lives in the kitchen and no-one sleeps in the kitchen. Anyhow – a small price to pay for the sheer convenience and ease of making up bottles.
Great product but defective item
Great product, helps with feeds being effective and quick. But the item was defective – I wasn’t getting the right shots and sometimes it seemed like the machine wasn’t responding at all. However I contacted customer services and they are replacing it – hope it works this time!
Best purchase I’ve made
Best purchase I’ve made! Ordered this product when little one was 3 days old, so glad I found it nice and early – he’s only 8 days old now and I already feel I’ve got my money’s woryh! Saves about 30 minutes for every feed and avoids having an upset baby. Should be on a must have list if planning to bottle feed at any point.
10/10 product – dead easy to use
Not 100% necessary but very useful. I remain sceptical on the temperature it prepares the milk at.
Never got on with it to begin with, still very sceptical about how warm the milk is when food is fully prepared (As it finishes off on the cold side), but a very handy piece of equipment to have regardless. Saves us from a lot of hassle when it’s necessary to make a quick bottle. Use it very frequently now.
Great product with a couple downsides
Great product. Only down side is that the steam from the hot shot makes the formula scoop go sticky and the formula doesn’t scoop out as easily so I would recommend to buy formula pots too. Also 4oz/120ml is the smallest amount it produces which is difficult for me as I am combi feeding and always need less than this so formula is wasted.
Make your life easier.
Highly recommended bit of baby equipment. Makes getting a bottle read a complete breeze. No hanging around waiting for water to cool. No need to measure things out.
Works by dispensing a shot of hot water into which you put the formula into shake it then put it back under and the remaining water is dispensed. Shake the bottle and you are good to go.

Amazing invention since sliced bread. I don’t know how I would manage without it. So quick and convenient, comes out the right temperature so you don’t have to wait and deal with a screaming baby. I would definitely recommend it to anyone! Such a great buy.
Excellent kit for new parents
This is a great piece of kit for those with newborn babies. Preparation of baby bottles is quick, easy and efficient. There is only a short wait before your bottle is ready at the correct temperature for baby. No more waiting for kettles to boil, reheating bottles or cooling down bottles. I wish they had been available when I was having my babies.
Absolute lifesaver. We never had this for our first born how gutted was I about this after I seen it at a friends; Massively. Simple youtube videos to follow for setup and just wow best money spent on baby necessity.
A lifesave
This is probably the best item I’ve bought for my son. It makes feeds up incredibly quickly and is a lifesaver at 3 in the morning when you have a hungry baby. It is incredibly easy to use, and I have used it succesfully with MAM and doctor brown bottles.
I did have my original unit fail after three weeks, but Tommee Tippee support were incredible and organised a replacement unit that arrived the next day, the replacement has been going strong for months now. Cannot fault their customer service.

Purchased for new parents they love it, quick and easy to use. Saves time all round. Happy mum, dad and baby. Great for those late night feeds. Wish I had purchased as soon as baby was born. This was on an offer price so made it the obvious thing to buy when on sale. Thanks amazon great I was able to have it shipped straight to the new parents.

This machine has been my saviour. My newborn is a cluster feeder if I had make bottles the old school kettle water into a basin of cold water to cool down I would be at my wits end with a screaming baby.
Alot of bad press about these but I have now had mines since June I use sterilizing fluid then a boiling water rinse weekly and it’s perfectly clean inside. The machine just needs the proper care..as as you clean it and change the filter every 2 months everything is perfect!

This machine is a god send, so quick, easy, and clean. The setting up was easy and fast. Comes with one filter and has a warning light when it’s time to replace it, very helpful. Only thing is that you have to really shake the bottle to dissolve the powder, but to be expected i suppose. The milk is done in a couple of minutes and comes out at the right temperature for baby.

Works great, Was very hesitant at the start due to reading some articles about some children getting very sick after using this but after some research found that it was because off them not using the right filters in the machine. As a new parent I have to say it is a great relief to know that my kids bottle will be ready in a few seconds at any time esp at 3 in the morning

Fabulous device. So easy to use and within 2 minutes a bottle is done. Will take any make bottles as far as I can tell. Sometimes the volume doesn’t match the same volume on the bottle- over supplies at times, but this might be the bottles not being accurate!
Yes you could make formula up yourself but this is a massive time saver.
Our baby likes milk warm so this really is a life saver. Who has 20+ mins to make each bottle?!
For babies that like it room temp (and you are not bothered about scorching the powder first) there isn’t much need for it. But I found it very helpful & wouldn’t hesitate to spend the money again.
Only used for 1 month then dropped and broke it when taking it for a clean it was good but too much messing about cleaning all the time and changing filters in my opinion it’s easier using the kettle for me and safe
Saves time and provides reassurance
This machine is such a time saver and has put me at ease that I’m getting the water-to-powder ratio right. Waiting for boiled water to cool takes so much time and so we were buying a lot of expensive ready made milk, to be able to quickly give our little boy a bottle. Now we’re just using ready made for going out and it’s saving us a lot of money. Having a bottle ready in 2 mins, allows us to quickly feed our hungry baby, which has helped a lot with weaning from breastfeeding.

Bought this when my son was first born and it was the best thing we ever bought. Bottle feeding ended up being the only option for us and it made a perfectly warm bottle of milk that we could give to our son. Despite what has been going round on social media and such, as long as you look after it and clean it regularly, there is no need to worry and you won’t have any problems. My son is now 2 and my sister is due to have a baby in September and she will be having it when she needs it.

After reading all the positive reviews I was dubious as to how useful this would be but it has transformed making up a bottle! It’s just so easy, takes a couple of minutes and delivers the perfect bottle, baby loves it too as she has no patience! If you buy any gadget, get this one and the price at the discounted rate was an absolute steal!
If you are formula feeding, this machine is essential. 100%. Combine it with a travel pot for pre-measuring out the powder, and you can be applying bottle to screaming infant in two minutes, even at 3am. I can’t recommend it highly enough.
This machine has saved my life with my very hungry baby. It’s so easy to use I can use it one handed whilst holding little one. Not had any issue with him being ill like some posters.

Great, still working perfectly after 4 months. However like other reviewers, I don’t know why they had to make it beep so loud, and the dial flashes bright red and then green – the whole room lights up at night! (easily managed by placing a towel over the top, also muffles the beep a bit). Could have also made the water hopper a bit bigger – it holds about 2 feeds.
We moved our baby to a combination of bottle and breast feeding and found the process of boiling the kettle, making up formula, waiting for it to cool down enough to give just too long!
I know in reality, it was probably 5 minutes in total but at 2am with a screaming baby, every second counts.
After reading reviews on Amazon and generally online I came across the Perfect Prep machine and it looked like a revelation.
We live in a very hard water area so we were concerned about the water but the Perfect Prep machine has a built in water filter so that meant we can fill the reservoir from the tap rather than from the filtered water we keep in the fridge for us to drink.
It’s a complete doddle to set up – you have to soak the filter before inserting but the in box instructions take you through everything clearly and step by step. Once set up it tucks nicely into a corner of the kitchen and doesn’t look like an eyesore (we got the black as it fits with our decor and existing appliances)
You use the dial on top to select the ounces you require. Put the sterilised bottle underneath (We use both Tommee Tippee and Avent ones with no problems) Push the big button and the ring goes red. It will dispense a ‘hot shot’ of water into the bottle then beep to alert you. You then need to remove the bottle and add the required formula (we use Aptamil and it mixes fine).
It says to put a lid on and shake the bottle but I have found a quick circle one way then the other a few times mixes the formula just fine.
Then place the bottle back on the stand and press the button again. The light will go green and the bottle will then be filled up to the correct amount with cooler water to bring the whole bottle to the correct temperature.
Once filled it beeps to alert you it’s finished and you can add the sterilised top and teat and give to your baby straight away (I usually give it another swirl to make sure it’s all mixed (One for good luck and all that!)
The whole process takes just a couple of minutes which means you can quickly get back to your hungry baby.

Overall
Yes it’s 60 for something which you do not TECHNICALLY need but for speed, efficiency and dare I say my sanity, I think it’s the best 60 i’ve ever spent.
I would recommend this product for anyone whether its your 1st or your adding to your existing family.. literally 2 minutes and the bottle is ready to fed your baby. So handy on those 2/3/4 am feeding shifts :0) its not lazy its smart!!!!
Week old baby life save
Life saver!!!! The only change I would make is the loudness of the beep, not really necessary. Other than that it’s brilliant for my newborn. The feeds the machine makes starts at 4oz so I unfortunately have some wastage with a week old baby but I appreciate that it has to start at this ammount otherwise the hot water shot would likely be non existent. Also LOVE the TT bottle it comes with. My baby does not vomit at all with it and so I have just ordered 12 of the same bottle for express delivery!!

Couldnt live without this, best purchase ever. The only way to upgrade this product would be to have a separate hopper for the baby powder and have it mix its self. The only gripe with this machine is no ability to set a temperature, its currently in quite a cold kitchen which means during the winter months the bottles werent warm enough and required microwaving for an extra 10-20 seconds depending on the ambient temp of the room.
Amazing at 3am
Having twins, this device is a savior in the night. Easy to use, as all it takes is to set how much you would like to make, and the machine pumps out the right amount of water with boiling first, cold after to get the milk to the right temperature.
Bit pricey for essentially a glorified water dispenser, as you still need to add the powered milk yourself. Nevertheless, still recommend this for new parents!

FANTASTIC
This is a great device, was unsure at first but has made daytime and especially night time feeds a breeze.
You simple add cold tap water, set the oz on the unit to match your babies food stage (this matches with Cow and Gate OZ recommendations).
Place the bottle under-neath, press the button for hot water, then shake before placing back under and pressing again for it to add cold water – within 2mins you have a bottle made at the right temperature ready to use.
Our baby has used this from 2 weeks old, he is now 7month’s and I really can’t praise this unit enough. We were advised not to get the bottle maker by midwives but the guidelines are changing all the time we thought we would give it a go..its great!
Its easy to clean, easy to change the filter and we take it EVERYWHERE with us! (So keep the box 🙂 )
Some highlights why we found it so good:
– Only needs mains power – so I have place one in the boys room so at night we can easily and quickly feed him, whether this is related or not, he sleeps usually through the night and is extremely calm and content.
– Perfect temperature each time, not had a fault with it
– Has clean cycle, which we run every two weeks
– If the room is too hot (Summers nights) it will alert you to this and won’t dispense a bottle to avoid it been to hot. We only found this out when the room was about 27degrees C, which is once in the last year (UK).
– Adjustable water amount as the feed requirements increase!.

Great product! Saves a lot of screaming in our house! As soon as baby stirs for feed just press the button, Min later and it’s done! Perfect temperature! Only thing I would say is the hot shot is quite loud and the finishing beep, but hasn’t personally bothered us as a hungry screaming baby is louder!
I have been using this product for the last 2 weeks and all I can say is that I absolutely love it! My son usually wakes up with a cry when hungry and this product has saved my life because the bottle is ready under a minute! Loved it soo much that I have ordered another one for upstairs. The only negative thing about the product is that the minimum amount of feed is 4 oz and because of the climate I live in is really hot you need to put ice cold water in the tank. Other than that it’s the best thing I bought for my baby!

Great product. We only started giving out son bottles at 9 months old, so we’ve not had as much use out of this machine than if he had been bottle fed from the start, that said, it has still been a great time saver for the two bottles a day he still has. It heats the milk to the prefect temperature without the need to faff on with a kettle, boiling water and cooled water. Highly recommend for those bottle feeding from day one, or for parents like us who were switching from breast to bottle feeding. It just makes life so much easier.
Great Machine that saves time
I was so happy to discover Tommee Tippee Perfect Prep Machine after so many sleepless nights with the little one. After I ordered the appliance it arrived promptly and well packed. The appliance makes a bottle in about a minute and a half, always perfect temperature. The instructions advise to use clean tap water, however, I use boiled water, as I believe it’s safer for the baby’s tummy. The water filter lasts for about 2.5-3months. The machine was really perfect after it stopped working after 4 months of use. The seller provided no help at all, but after contacting Tommee Tippee they were more than happy to replace the appliance. 7 months on now and it works perfectly saving so much time, very hygienic as well.

Fantastic product, I can’t rate this highly enough. I bottle fed my first baby and made every bottle by the book – with slightly cooled boiled water and then running cold water over the bottle to cool to correct temperature. It took seemingly forever, especially with a crying, hungry baby and was often slightly too cold. With my second child the midwife recommended the Perfect Prep machine and I’m so so glad she did. The perfect temperature bottle with no measuring water in under two minutes. Anyone formula feeding would be crazy not to invest in one if these – worth every penny.

I didn’t think we needed one and the first bottle I made using the kettle took me 25 minutes for it to boil and cool down to the right temperature. When you have a screaming hungry baby, you haven’t got 25 minutes. This makes it in 2 minutes. At the correct temperature.

As I came to terms that I was about to become a father for the first time I instantly wanted to ensure that I made my life as easy as possible, thank god I found the Tommee Tippee Perfect Prep!
I have been using my Perfect Prep machine for 8 months now and it has been a absolute life saver. My son is my first child and my partner’s second. The first time round she used to use a boiling kettle to make up her daughter’s bottles and she wishes that she had a Perfect Prep the first time around.
I can not express enough how easy this machine is to use.
1) Fill your bottle with powder
2) Pop it in the machine and press the button
3) Shake the bottle (don’t forget the lid)
4) Put it back in the machine and press the button again
5) Congratulations, you smashed it!
You will take the Perfect Prep for granted to, but those moments when your baby is screaming in the car on the way home because they are hungry, or those early mornings and late night wake ups, having a bottle ready in 30 seconds as opposed to waiting 5-10mins for boiling water to cool down will make you wonder how you would have coped without the machine!
Overall the build quality is good, it feels a bit light and like shoddy plastic, but it’s solid and looks OK and mine hasn’t broken yet! Maybe for 90 I’d expect something that feels a little more expensive, but to be honest I couldn’t care less as long as it works like it does.
I must admit, I watched the price on the Perfect Prep like a hawk and snapped it up when it dropped to about 65 but I would have paid the full price if I know what I know now.
I feel that it is also worth noting that I had a friend who also recommended this product to me and she described it as a ‘life saver’ which really cemented the fact that I was going to get one of my own.

This is a great machine for keeping baby happy when you are busy- no waiting for bottles to cool! It doesn’t make the milk very warm, I just adjust it by setting to more oz than I need so there is more hot initially then only using some of the cold water. The filters do not last for the 3 months/150lts they say. I didn’t start using mine until the 30th Match and have had to change the filter today

Ordered the first one, unpacked it… Followed the instructions and that where the problems started.. lots of flashing lights on the device but not working. Unlucky I guess. Amazon did replace the product very quickly and after get unpacking it again, worked like a dream. After the setup its quick.. really quick.. hope it lasts as I feel a bit burned after receiving a faulty unit.

After a few days of The fuss of trying to cool bottles down the “old fashioned” way in cold water (with screaming baby in tow!) we bought one of these – best thing we have got – I recommend these over and over again. Only downside is that he smallest amount you can make is 4oz which is a shame – as I am combination feeding due to our son being premature sometimes he would only need 1 or 2ozs as a top up to his breastmilk – hopefully tommee tippee will make this adjustment on any future models!
Brilliant machine for perfect baby milk every time.
The days of messing about making the babies milk is well and truly over now, what a brilliant product this is. No one likes their baby screaming for it’s milk while your fumbling about trying to cool milk that’s too hot or warming one thats too cold, so this product at a touch of a button (Well two touches actually) is an absolute miracle of an invention! We can now get a perfect bottle of body temperature babies milk to baby in the fastest time possible, ensuring less stress on a tired family and less stress for baby.
The machine has a water filter internally which has to be changed every 3 months, it’s easy to change and even tells you that it needs changing by the way of a warning light on the machine itself. You then fill the tank with cold water and it holds a decent amount of water with a visible water level on the front so you know when to add more water. You then place your bottle under the spout, select the amount of milk required and press the button once. The machine then dispenses a small amount of hot/boiling water into the bottle, you then remove the bottle and have 2 minutes to add the milk formula then shake it to mix it into the small amount of water, you replace the bottle under the spout and press the button one more time and it dispenses the last of the water to take it up to your required amount, this ranges from 4oz all the way up to 11oz’s. So enough for most babies until they are in the weening stage. You then remove the bottle, screw on the cap and shake once more and there you have it, perfectly prepped milk for baby in a fraction of the time it takes to do it manually.
Our household would recommend this to any family as it takes away so much stress and worry that you’ve left the milk too hot or too cold etc, it’s a godsend of a product and one that we won’t ever be without as long as we have bottle feeding babies in the house.

Love it, makes bottle up extremely quickly. Smallest you can make is 4oz bottle, but was happy to waste a bit – didn’t last long before needing this size bottle anyway.
Only downside is the beeps it makes are quite loud for in the middle of the night – it is a shame you can not silence it or turn it down. But still worth while.

Wouldn’t be without it, it goes everywhere with us. If you stops breastfeeding this takes the hassle out of the new rules for making and storing bottles. This has a bottle made in 2 minutes at the perfect temperature, great for if your little one suddenly decides he needs to be fed or in the night when you need a bottle NOW. I toyed with buying this wondering if it was a lazy gadget but on the odd occasion I have been without it and had to make feeds using a kettle I know 100% that I have made the right choice. Without it you have to boil the kettle, wait 30 mins, make the feed then cool it down using ice or a cold tap for a good 5-10 minutes. With it, you push a button, add formula, push a button and it’s done. As a new mum you want everything to be as easy as possible and to me it’s no different to using a washing machine to do the laundry rather than doing it by hand. It’s a no brainier and worth every penny. You will have to replace the filter every 2-3 months but these can be bought in store at mothercare or online for 7/8.99

Excellent! If you are thinking about getting one, do. It is amazing. With the recommendations now saying you need to make a fresh bottle each time, this saves so much time, don’t have to wait half an hour for a kettle to cool down when you have a hungry baby. So simple to use. It is really just one button you use twice during making the bottle. I have been using it for over a month now and still love it. Just wish I knew about it before baby was born and we could have been using it from day one.

Bought when breastfeeding just wasn’t working for me and my baby and it has been wonderful! It is basically a time saving gadget – you can achieve the same with a boiled kettle and a bottle of cooled boiled water but it has been so easy to just press a button and have a bottle ready almost instantly!
My only gripe is the minimum 4oz option – no issues now my daughter is 5 months but in the early days I felt I wasted quite a bit as she only took 2oz at a time.
My first one developed an issue/fault with how much water was being dispensed and both Amazon and Tommee Tippee were happy to replace straightaway – had one from Amazon the very next day!
Honestly, I don’t know where I would be without this product. I was forced to stay in hospital for 3 days when my baby wouldn’t latch and I couldn’t establish feeding, the only way I could go home was to formula feed. Initially we were using ready milk but it’s expensive etc, this machine is a bloody life saver!
Using powdered milk, so simple and the bottle takes less than a minute – I don’t have to worry about it being too hot. It’s easy to operate one handed for when you have a baby on your shoulder as well (at 2am)
Only complaint would be that the beep noise when bottle is ready is a bit loud but it’s a small issue and only noticeable in the dead of night!
Time-saving and convenient feed making!
We had previously used ready-made milk, then found out my son was lactose intolerant, so needed to switch to a prescription formula which was powder. When I found out all the faff involved with making up a bottle using a kettle, I went straight out and bought this! I must admit, I really miss it when I’m not home. Last weekend we were at friends for the day, and had to keep boiling the kettle a couple of hours before needing a bottle in order to get cooled boiled water, then boil it at time of making in order to sterilise the powder before mixing with the cooled boiled water… Alot of faff basically!
With this machine, all you need to do is select the amount in oz that you want to make using the dial on the top of the machine, place the bottle under the dispenser and press the button on top… This dispenses a shot of boiling water, where you then add your powder to, and shake to mix, then re-place under the dispenser for the second shot of cooler water in order to fill the rest of the bottle. You then have a bottle at the perfect temperature in about 3 minutes – Perfect!
My only negatives to this…
– When pouring the boiling water shot, it will finish dispensing the shot, and indicate that the bottle is ready to be removed, however after a few seconds delay a small amount of water will fall out, so if your hand is there reaching for the bottle it will burn you. I’ve had this a few times now, and so have to wait for this second drop of water before removing the bottle
– It doesn’t always make the amount it should do. Sometimes it will dispense a perfect 7oz bottle, however other times it will dispense 8oz, even though it is set to 7oz. I have read other reviewers mention this before, and had had friends say the same thing. I actually got an exchange for my first one for doing this and the extra leaking of boiling water, however the second one does the same thing, so leads me to believe that it is a design flaw rather than unit issue. Online feedback suggests that this is due to varying types of milk used, because of the consistency of the milk, which I could understand, however we use the exact same milk day in day out, and it still gives varying amounts in the final amount between feeds
– It’s sometimes hard to see the water level in the machine due to where the tank sits. In certain light, it’s easy to mistake the base of the reservoir tank to be the water line, when actually the tank is almost empty. This is only an issue when the water is just above where it needs to be to set off the low-water light, so at a quick glance you would think there is more water than there actually is

The must have baby product.
When I first brought this product I did wonder if it would be joining the likes of the breadmaker, ice cream maker and other ‘must have gadgets’ gathering dust in my kitchen cupboards but this machine is still in constant daily use 6 months on and as I use it with my 2 year old follow on milk as well it will be out for years!
I have recommended this to all pregnant friends and even the nurse who is expecting first grandchild! it is a must have gadget if formula feeding and makes it so easy.
You can use any bottles in the machine I use mam bottles and toddler cups in mine. You set the dial for number of scoops, it pours in hot water to the bottle underneath, it glows red and beeps, you take the bottle add the formula scoops put the bottle back and press the button. the machine fills the bottle to the correct level, everyone. Neither my baby or toddler have ever rejected milk made by this machine. it also means you don’t have to measure water when using toddler cups.
As I’ve had the machine for a while, I can also comment on the replacement filters. We have got through three filters, which I feel is quiet good but could better. That said it is used at least 8 times everyday and we are in a hard water area. You could also put filtered water into the machine from a Britta jug which might make them last longer.
Overall, it is a great machine which is in daily use and we even take it on holiday with us in its box as its not a silly size. When my baby was newborn it was a lifesaver in the early hours of the morning for us and helped making baby happier. It is a must have not a gadget.
A ready bottle quicker than a kettle can boil
This was originally one of those things we saw whilst walking around the shops that we said was just a ‘gimmick’. Oh how we are eating our words now! This machine makes a bottle quicker than we can boil out kettle! I genuinely mean that in the time it takes to make a complete ready to feed bottle for our little boy we would just about have started to muck about with the kettle! It’s a crying shame it only makes 4oz bottles as a minimum which isn’t much help for a new born unless you’re happy to waste formula! All in all, one of the best time saving items we have brought!

It will save you that many hours of your life freezing your hands off at 2am trying to cool down a bottle by hand. Couldn’t be without this. Seems a lot of money for essentially a kettle of sorts (a hot water dispenser) but getting it exactly the right temperature when you need it is so valuable. Saves a lot of heating up milk in a cup of warm water…. or having to cool down water in the freezer. All while your baby awaits – hungry and screaming. No thanks. Buy this and it will save that heartache. Especially after breastfeeding when baby is used to milk “on tap”. Brilliant machine. Next I hope they can invent something that puts the formula in the bottle and shakes it, that would be good

What a time saver. This machine is amazing.
Once the machine is assembled and the filter is installed you fill tank with water. This tank needs to be filled when empty.You select the amount of water you need for you milk. It goes up to 11oz from memory. You then press a button and the light changes to red and a beep is heard. It first pours a shot of hot water. You then mix you baby formula in and shake the bottle so the formula is mixed. Next you put it under the machine again and press the button again (you have a time limit to do this otherwise you her a long beep and the light changes colour – this is to make sure the temp is correct) more water will come out another beep will be heard and and that’s it – PERFECT TEMP BABY MILK in less than 2 minutes. No more boiling the water and letting it cool and getting it all wrong….. this machine is amazing and I would recommend it to anyone with a baby.
The machine requires a filter which costs around 9 but lasts for around 3 months. Very simple to replace.
The only down sides so far is if the room gets very hot (especially when we have heat waves), a little red light comes on the from of the machine saying the temp is too high. I’ve done plenty of research on this and the solution is to put ice cold water or ice in the machine to cool the initial water down. I’ve has to do this only 3 times in the last 9 months.
Secondly the beeps are very loud and I don’t think you can turn it down. You can’t keep it in your bedroom or near your baby and the beeps will wake everyone up.
Overall I would hands down recommend this laptop to anyone who uses baby formula. It’s a amazing bit of technology.

Love love love this. Can’t recommend it enough. I tell anyone that will listen that it’s our new best friend and can’t imagine why anyone would use an old fashioned kettle when they can just get one of these babies and life is so much simpler! Fantastic with a screaming impatient baby too. One slight niggle is that you can’t make amounts ‘in between’. It’s either 180ml or 210ml for example, so if you need 190ml you have to make a 210ml and tip out 20ml. Not a huge deal though, just feels wasteful. In the grand scheme of things, this thing is still fantastic. Can’t recommend enough.

This machine is a life saver!! Being a first time mom I had heard lots of mixed reviews about this item and didn’t no what to do. My partner bought it when my LO was 2 months old and from day 1 we fell in love. Perfect bottles in i would say less than 2 minutes. Looks Stylish in my kitchen and doesn’t take up much room either.
I only have 2 things to say was negative about this item. Number 1 was the filter. You get on average about 3 Months out of the filter (depends on how many times you use it really and out LO is a big boy). Our filter light came on which is a warning that it needs changed but you get a while before it actually does need changed. Finding a filter was horrendous. Amazon, Ebay Tesco’s, Adsa, Morrison, Mother Care, Mamas and Papas all displayed that they sold the filter but non of them were is stock. We ended up buying it from Tommee Tippee its self which wasn’t bad, so really if you see a filter in passing grab it!!
The second is my baby became very inpatient. He would expect a bottle within the 2 minuets and if it wasn’t there in the 2 minuets he would scream. But that just might have just been my baby. We still use it daily and we have started to make him wait a little bit for the bottles so the screaming as stopped.

If you are feeding your baby with powder or doing a mix then this is invaluable to your wellbeing and an all round happy baby. I screaming child for milk is not nice when your new parents, we have a very demanding girl that as soon as she puts her fists in her mouth, unless its 2 seconds flat in her mouth she cries like she has never had a drink before and after 11 weeks, nothing has changed. Even both grandparents loved this. A very good buy, very happy parents and happy baby!

Don't worry about the US/UK measurements
I hesitated – would this be another useless gadget? I was wrong to do so – it is utterly brilliant. There is simply no justification for messing around with kettles and preparing milk in advance.
I bought this for about 65. It seems to be one of those products that is always the sale price *somewhere* so look around if Amazon put the price back up to 100, and snap it up now if the price is lower. To be honest it is overpriced at 100 and about right at 65 – but for the level of convenience it offers it is worth far more to me than either of those prices.
There is some confusion about the measurements this uses. I measured the output on mine and it uses UK fl oz – which is consistent with what TT have said. The ‘problem’ is that the scoops provided in e.g. Aptamil formula boxes are designed to be used with US measurements of water, so the “5” setting on this machine doesn’t correspond to the right amount of water for 5 scoops of most formulas. This is quite annoying and short of working out what the correct weight (not volume – the design of the scoops accounts for a certain amount of compression during scooping) of formula would be and measuring out that instead, there is no real way to fix it.
HOWEVER, when you actually look at the error due to the US/UK measurements then it is only about 4%. In the context of other errors in the process of preparing milk (e.g. errors when you measure out the scoop, the tolerance in the amount of water that the TT machine dispenses, etc.) this 4% is pretty insignificant. For example, I use one of those 3-chamber milk pots and always end up with a tiny bit of powder stuck in it that doesn’t go into the bottle – I figure that’s about equivalent to the extra formula that I’m adding due to the US/UK measurements issue so it works out in the end.
Conclusion: the measurements are slightly out of line with the scoop sizes on some/most formula boxes. However, the difference is so small it makes no difference in the end.

im not sure how we lived without this! We have two week old twins and one twin was in special care so now he is home he needs regular structured feeds, whereas other twin just lets us know when she is hungry- so we were constantly boiling the kettle, steralising, putting cold water in a pan to stand the hot drinks in to cool etc it was a right faf and took ages! The worst part was having two screaming babies waiting 10 mins for drinks to cool. This saves a hell of a lot of time, is so easy to use and i would recommend to anyone!! You will find yourself getting more sleep!!!
I really really like this appliance!
I took a long time to decide if I wanted this or whether I could manage with kettle and cold water in a jug.My husband and health visitor poo pooed it so I put it to the back of my mind. After scolding myself pretty badly making a bottle the traditional way I decided to order. I’m really glad I took my time as as of dec 1 it was available in black which looks so much better in my kitchen than a big ugly white machine. Significantly more expensive than white, nearly 60 more which is a bit of a con but its not noticeable in my kitchen (and actually looks quite good!)so I don’t mind the price difference.
The instructions are really easy to follow and I was up and running in 10 mins. It takes a little while for water to go through the filter which isn’t explained and should also be stressed because if allowed to get low and you replenish the water it won’t work for 5 or so minutes but this is the purpose of the low water warning light.
Essentially you pick the size of feed required on the dial and put the bottle in the machine. This produces a hot shot of water to which you add powder then put back in the machine and it will add the correct amount of cold for that particular feed. You haven’t got long to put your powder in, if you are too slow it won’t give you the cold and you have to start the feed again, a good safety feature (but you have to be pretty slow for this to happen).
Someone on here was complaining about the use of ordinary cold tap water in the machine for the cool shot and that almost put me off buying but surely that’s what the filters for??? Also lots of complaints about the loudness of the beep, it’s less loud than a microwave beep and I think if you were multi tasking which is often the case with kids you might forget you’d even put the bottle on if you were tired or distracted so I have no issue with the beep like other reviewers.
I actually expected it to be a bit quicker,the flow of the cold is quite slow, don’t see the reason for this but maybe it’s a safety feature or prevents bubbles in the feed?
Also the temperature of the feed is lower than I would normally make but again I can appreciate this as a safety feature and my newborn seems quite happy.
It’s much quicker easier and less stressful than the normal way and I think that’s what’s important, anything that can keep stress levels down with a newborn is worth it weight in gold! I highly recommend!

I never normally write reviews but this really deserves one. One of the few items I couldn’t live without as a new mother. Knowing what I now know, I would happily have paid double for this! If you can only splash out on one item, let it be this! Only tiny issue is that the ‘warm’ light comes on quickly, although this is easily rectified by putting a couple of ice cubes in. There is so much advice out there about how to do things the ‘right’ way, and as a result I was petrified of making my baby ill when I stopped breastfeeding. I bought this on recommendation from friends and haven’t looked back. No more fear of whether the water is at the right temperature, or if the powder/water ratio is right! I love love love this machine!!

Amazing – every parent needs one! One of the best baby products we have bought, saves so much time and hassle.
Like many of you I presume, we also had the dilemma of how do you prep your formula?
1 – Individually each time, boiling the kettle, adding the formula, cooling the milk and trying to get to the perfect body temperature before feeding your baby? This is the recommended process and takes ages! Not what you want to do 6+ times a day, especially during the night.
2 – This is not recommended, but others prepare a handful of bottles in one go. Boil the kettle, put in formula and let cool before putting in fridge for a max 24 hours. Each time the baby feeds you boil the kettle again to warm the milk up to the desired temperature. This is not recommended but people do it, but again this takes time boiling kettles and you have to get the temperature right. Not ideal when baby is screaming and during the night!
3 – Others boil the kettle and let the water cool. Then add the formula to cold boiled water and feed. This is also not recommended and probably the worst thing you can do as the formula needs boiling water to kill off any bacterial.
Tommee Tippee Perfect Prep does everything you need in 2 minutes. Put bottle under dispenser, press button which provides a shot of boiling water instantly. You have to add the formula, shake, then replace under the dispenser. It fills the bottle to the volume selected (ounces) then beeps twice when done!!! Put on the teat, shake and feed! No hassle, extremely quick, safe for baby and at the right temperature……whats not to like about this???
I can’t understand the poor reviews…….it’s the most useful, hassle free product you can buy. My wife and I are professionals and like doing things efficiently. Don’t hesitate, this is a must!
My husband and I are first time parents and were told about this machine at an antenatal class by another couple. At first, I was cynical and thought it might be just an expensive gadget. However, my sister, who already has two children, said she thought it sounded like a godsend so we ordered it.
I’m so glad we did! This machine is an absolute essential, especially during the night when baby wakes up!
Basically, you steralise your bottles as normal and then when baby is crying, you put the bottle under the water dispenser. A ‘shot’ of hot water is poured into the bottle and a beep lets you know to add the required amount of formula. After a quick shake to mix the water and the formula, you put the bottle back under the dispenser where water is added to the correct measurement and to perfect temperature ready to give immediately to baby. It saves so much time and means you can quickly prepare a bottle, saving the 10-15 minutes it can take to traditionally make a bottle and cool it down while baby is crying and frustrated.
The only downside we can find is that the machine has a minimum setting of 4oz so when we first brought our son home and he was having less milk, we either made a bottle to 40z and wasted the surplus (especially during the night to save time and sleep deprivation!) or made bottles up traditionally until he was ready to have 4oz. Someone mentioned in a review that you can stop the machine when you want by pressing the ‘start’ button again if you want less than 40z – however, the midwife advised against this as she said it was not very accurate and could lead to kidney problems if you are not measuring formula accurately.
I’ve found this machine really useful when nipping out of the house with our son – if we know we will be out for no more than a couple of hours, we quickly make a bottle using the Prep Machine as we walk out of the door so we have a ready made bottle at the right temperature in a bottle bag if our son needs feeding while we are out.
I wouldn’t be without this machine and I rave about it to everyone – it saves so much stress and time, and really is worth every penny!
Bought this on a whim and it has some niggles - BEEPS really loudly.
Bought this on a whim and I am trying hard to love it BUT it falls short. Firstly the beeping is incredibly loud. What deranged engineer thought it would be OK to have such loud beeping TWICE in the feed making cycle is beyond me. Obviously they do not understand that one of the fundamental principles of night feeding is that the baby does not really wake up. Let alone the neighbours in the flat upstairs. This is a glaring mistake.
Secondly the other thing that annoys me is that there is all of this blurb about supporting mothers who are combination feeding but this machine will only do luke warm bottles. What I want is the option to make it a little warmer so that I can take it to bed and know that it will not be stone cold by the time I am ready to top up with a bottle. Indeed there often times that I want the bottle a little hotter. For instance when we pop to bed for a little book reading before a last feed or when we are jumping in the car and I know that she will be hungry at the destination in 30 mins time. Please put a “make it hotter” button on the machine.
Finally on the negatives I thought that it would dispense the powder too. It doesn’t. I just make up little shot bottle of powder but it would be ideal if somehow it dispensed powder or someone came up with a clever way to dispense powder.
On the positives. The dial on the top of the machine is intuitive and easy to use. Easy to fill with water. It’s not too big on the worktop. It measures the water exactly which just takes the fuss out of the bottle making even in the dark. It looks nice.. I like the light which glows from red to green. The over flow tray which is height adjustable is a thoughtful addition. The filter is easy to change. The cleaning cycle is easy. Bottles are part of my life for sometime to come.. Tommee Tippee – fix the problems above and this is definitely something I could love.

We agonised over whether to buy this machine as obviously money is tight when expecting a new baby and facing reduced income. Lots of people we discussed it with said it was a luxury item and not worth the money. However our view is that something that you will use several times a day every day for at least a year is probably worth the money. We were right!
As this is our second child we experimented with various ways of preparing formula feeds last time around and nothing was perfect. One of the things I dreaded this time around was the endless round of heating or cooling bottles with a screaming baby, this is particularly a problem with night feeds. This machine couldn’t be simpler, two pushes of a button and a quick shake and a feed is dispensed at the perfect temperature in two minutes without any hassle. We couldn’t recommend it more.
The only two slight gripes are the annoyingly loud beep it makes, ours is in the kitchen so its not really a problem but would be a problem if planning to keep it in the bedroom. I just don’t see why the beep is necessary. Secondly the smallest amount it prepares is 4oz. I found in the early days before you get into a routine with feeding you may want to prepare small amounts of 1 or 2 oz to top up and in any event you tend to start at around 3 oz,. the machine goes up to 11oz which we have never used with either of our children. I would suggest that perhaps the larger amounts are less use and that future models might start at lower amounts as we found ourselves throwing a lot of formula away in the early days. Having two under two we use this both for our newborn and our older child to prepare follow on milk. We are also planning to take it away with us on holiday as its not that big and hopefully will resolve the worry of preparing bottles safely while abroad. The other thing to note is that although it is Tommee Tippee, it is universal so can be used with any type of bottle.
We had twins and have been using cartons to make our life easier. Unfortunately, they start to be expensive and we had to switch to powder milk… There is no way we would have been able to do the recommended bottle prep (boil kettle, wait 30 min, add formula, cool it down in the fridge) and then this little machine appeared on Amazon….
An absolute Life saver. I don’t know what is all the fuss in previous comments about the machine dispensing more water, it is common sense that if you add 5oz of water to 5 scoops of formula, the liquid will slightly be more than 5oz…
Our twins are not patient and being able to make a fresh bottle in 1.30min is priceless.
Some tips we accumulated, using the machine 16 times in a 24h period 🙂
– When you have done the initial clean cycle of the machine and fill up the tank with fresh water, be patient. It took 15 min for the “tank empty light” to clear up, this is because the filter is new and dry and the water has to go through it. You can put the filter in a bowl with water before hand to speed up the process.
– When the hot shot is dispensed, wait 5 more seconds, some more water will drop down.
– some formula can be thicker (we use Aptamil Comfort) and can block the teat if you shake the bottle at this stage (Avent bottle don’t have caps like Tommee Tippee bottles so we need to keep the teats on). Instead, do a swirl motion with one hand so the formula dilutes with the water without going in the teat. I usually remove the teat then to see if I can see “bits” floating around and if I do I swirl the bottle a little longer.
– If you take too long (easy to be distracted), the machine will make a loud beep and the light will switch red which means that if you press again, a hot shot will be dispensed, not the cold water. What I do in that situation is put a empty glass, press the button so the hot water is dispensed, and then put back my bottle in the machine and press the button again (light will be green).
– The machine will not work if the water in the tank is more than 25 degrees. You will get a warning before hand, when this light is flashing slowly you know the water is getting close to this temperature. The best thing is to either store your water in the fridge, or add ice cubes (freshly made from boiled water or low sodium mineral water like Evian) to the machine, it will take 2 or 3 min for the cold water to go through the filter and reach the sensor and the light will clear. Also, especially when it’s warm, don’t fill up the tank to the max, just half. That way, you can top it up with cold water instead of removing all the water to replace it. Don’t forget that the water has to go through the filter which is why it takes some time for the warning light to clear.
The only negative I had is the loud beep which I found unnecessary. I wish there was a way to disable it because you can’t have this machine in a nursery with twins sleeping, it just wakes up everybody. Instead, we have it in the kitchen now, far away from the nursery.
Overall, an absolute life saver and I don’t know how we would have survived so far without it. We are sleep deprived (the twins are now 2 months old) but a huge thanks to Tommee Tippee for making our life a little easier.
the best baby related product we have purchased! Can't recommend it highly enough
when I first saw an ad for this product in a baby magazine I wanted to know more and buy one… and I am so glad that I did. It isn’t necessarily the cheapest product you will buy but it is worth every last penny in convenience and ease of use – no more racing to get a bottle made and then cooled while our little one screams (because however organised you are during the day there are always times when you forget to pre boil a kettle, and who wants to spend ages making a bottle in the middle of the night?!) I admit before purchasing I wavered, thinking I could just save the money and stick to the kettle/cooling routine but I am so glad I decided to hit the order button!
The perfect prep machine is so quick and easy to use, we pre measure our formula powder into the tommee tippee formula pots and keep them with the sterilised bottles by the machine so that as soon as our little man shows signs of hunger we can pop a bottle under the machine, press the button, add the powder to the hot shot and shake, then hit the button again for the rest of the water to come through and it is ready to go – it takes a minute, if that! We haven’t had any problem with the water oz’s being US not UK (as other reviewers have highlighted), the way I see it for the minimal difference in water volume vs the powder we measure out is not a major problem at all – it isn’t as though there is a huge increase in dilution and I regularly give my little man a little extra boiled water after a feed anyway so what is the difference?! Up to you though if you prefer to adjust the water/powder ratio to make it the UK oz equivalent…
Re warning lights, apart from the water level low light (which hardly ever comes on, as keeping the water topped up is also easy!) we have also had the water temperature light come on once, after our kitchen got particularly warm one (rare!) sunny day. It was easy to simply empty out the water chamber and refill it again to be filtered – after all warm water can become stagnant and I certainly don’t want to use potentially dangerous stagnant water in my baby’s feed! I would suggest not keeping the machine near a window for this reason though – a cool corner of the kitchen would be better!
Whether you use other tommee tippee products or not I honestly believe this is a must buy for all new parents, the best value for money of everything we’ve bought so far! I hope you agree when you get yours!

I have 11 week old twins and night feeds where challenging, this machine is brilliant, I still have screaming babies but the time it takes to prepare the bottles to the correct temperature and volume is perfect. I would recommend this product to anyone with more than one baby – instead of preparing two bottles and the second twin having cold milk I can prepare each bottle as required.
I have read other peoples reviews and you do need to run a few cycles when you first use it to get the correct volume but after this I have not had any problems.
Certainly taken the stress out of feeding times!
This piece of equipment is an absolute godsend. My wife and I had twin boys in May and thanks to this product we have been able to cope a lot better.
I’ll firstly mention the very small issues with the perfect prep.
1. As our twins arrived early we had to feed them small quantities in the beginning, it would have been great if the machine was able to make feeds which are less than 4oz, but as the bottle making process took so little time we didnt mind that we had to waste some milk.
2. The noise of the machine is not a major issue as our twins are normally awake when we are making bottles, but this may be an issue for those who have other children in the household who are sleeping.
3. Another very small issue is the water level not being very easy to see on the side of the machine, but there is a warning light to remind you to top up the water, so again no a major issue.
I’m sure that there is some easy way for Tommee Tippee to remedy these small issues, they may decide to make a perfect prep 2, in which case I’m happy to offer more ways that the product could be improved upon…for a fee. 🙂
Now to the positive elements of the product.
1. As the process takes 2 minutes, we are able to make a bottle and have it ready for screaming babies within a very short space of time.
2. As the process is basically done for you by a machine it means that a consistent approach is taken to each and every feed. There is no need for guess work or checking that the bottle is at the right temp, this is especially useful for new parents who worry quite a bit when making bottles.
3. The water is filtered which means that any impurities are taken out of the water first.
4. The ‘hot shot’ of boiling water at the beginning means that any bacteria is removed from the formula.
5. The machine puts exactly the right amount of remaining water into the bottle. Some other reviewers have stated that the water level is not correct, but I can vouch for the machine and say that it is correct. The water is then at exactly the right temp. It does seem a little on the cold side, but we’re happy to rely on Tommee Tippee’s expertise. The twins seem to enjoy the milk so thats good enough for us.
6. Finally, the machine looks great, and can be easily carried upstairs if required. It also has a number of warning lights for water level, descaling etc which are very useful. It might be an idea for Tommee Tippee to design a bag for the machine to go into as I’m sure that the machine will be taken with if we go to the in-laws etc.
Overall I would say that this product is fantastic and I would have been happy to have paid more for it if the price had have been higher. It is rare that a company will take a chance and get involved in a process such as bottle-making as it is a process that has to be 100% right due to the fact that you are feeding infants, so I commend Tommee Tippee for being an inovator and designing a product which is so revoluntionary.
Its the type of product that Steve Jobs would have invented if he had been involved in the baby market…he would have named it the iPrep. Don’t hesitate, buy this product, it will be one of your best purchases.
