After painting my fence over 90 mtrs for years with a brush, something g he ad to change, bought myself the Wagner fence and decking sprayer, what a revelation, once you get used to using a sprayer, and get the amount of paint right, it’s fantastic, just remember to keep it cleaned out when you stop using it, bit fiddly to clean till you get used to doing it, hot soapy water, then spray a tank full of soapy water when you’ve finished, no more brush painting fences for me!!!!!!!
Waaaaay better than a brush
If you’re looking at these and have any hesitation about whether you can spray your fence, dont.
Its so easy to get a great finish after a quick practice, and within 10 minutes you’ll be spraying like a pro. I sprayed 14 metres of 2m high fence in about an hour. The most time consuming part is re-filling the sprayer and cleaning up afterwards.
These are really worthwhile and now I’ve finished with it I can lend it out to all my friends.

Well made, easy to clean and assemble with room for improvement. Ideal for use on unobstructed walls, fences etc. and easy to adjust spray for vertical/horizontal spraying or in tight areas. I found it difficult to shoulder the air pump whilst up a ladder or working on my fence where shrubs obscure said fence. I would like to see a much longer electric lead with an extension plug rather than a UK 3 pin plug, or even better a 2,5 battery power pack either in the air pump or belt clip. I’m no professional sprayer so it might have been my inexperience but my extension lead is the winding reel type and found it difficult to handle it and the sprayer up a ladder together. Still recommend it though.

Great Spraying Uni
After years of painting the fence with a big brush I decided to invest in this sprayer. Preparation is the key to using this. I masked up everything that wasn’t to be painted and then set up the sprayer. Took about 5 minutes to get used to it but after that I was flying along each fence panel. Took about 2 hours to paint all panels in the garden (22 panels). This would normally of took me a couple of weekends. Cleaned using soapy water. I should of bought this Wagner Sprayer years ago because it was such a chore to paint this fence with a brush!

I’d never bought one of these before, but I’m now really glad I have. Took all of 7 minutes to spray a whole side of my 10′ shed. No idea how long it would’ve taken with a brush, but positive it would’ve been a lot longer than 10 minutes! Also should mention the superb service I received from Wagner customer support. I’d lost the hose that connects the two bits together and they sent me one out for free, well impressed.

Best diy tool I have every bought .turned a daunting task in to a doddle of a job don’t no why I’ve never bought one sooner .some say it blocked up maybe not the right paint for spraying as I did 18 panels and it never blocked up for me .
Best to buy a spare paint container as the 1400ml doesn’t go far when fence spraying and useful to have a partner handing over a ready loaded spare (it’s a bit like those Western movies where the farm is under siege and the women are reloading the rifles!). Ronseal Fence Life Plus is like jelly and had to be spooned in; avoid.
Sprays well and spray adjustment is easy. Trigger uncomfortable for any length of time.
Cleaning it afterwards is very time consuming but no worse, I guess, than any other paint sprayer.

I should have bought one of these years ago. I masked off the concrete posts and its so easy. 2 to3 6 x 6 panels per fill, so on.y complaint is I would like a bigger pot.
Cleaning. Wash the pot and fill with clean water the spray. This clears most of the tubes and jet, but I always strip id down and clean after use.

Pressure outpu
I had high Hope’s for the Wagner, I did my decking the fence was easy to do but when I tried to alter the pressure output it didn’t seem to make any difference, so on detailed things it was coming out at a rate of knots and I got a few runs, I found it more awkward to do the decking so in the end I used a brush for that which obviously took longer. The over spray is a bit of a problem even on a slightly mild breezy day, but overall it was ok.

It is a brilliant sprayer, very easy to get the hang of & only wish Id bought one years ago
Good item and useful
Good quality. Just a bit tricky to adjust the spray nozzles. Takes a bit getting used to. Using on a bit of windy day will spread liquid all around and waste a lot. I tried with wood preservative for a summer house and had to buy 5L extra due to wastage.

Quick to paint but messy and a real faff.
The biggest problem by far with this sprayer is the size of the bottle. Forever stopping to fill up makes what would otherwise be a joy a bit of a faff to put it mildly. Also on anything but the calmest of days a lot of the spray ends up drifting away or splashed back all over the bottle and spray nozzle which although not a problem in use makes the whole job a big mess when it comes to cleaning up.
I have thought about removing the bottle and attaching a much longer paint tube straight into the 12L tub.
No regrets buying this but it hasn’t delivered the time saving and ease of use I was expecting.

Excellent bit of kit 10 x 8 shed painted in ten minutes flat, can’t ask for more than that. Saves so much time and effort pays for its self in no time. Make sure you practise on cardboard first to get spray pattern and paint volume correct to start.

You will need plenty paint as it does use quite a bit extra compared with brushing. And plenty PPE !! Easy to clean. I bought an extra paint container as well to speed things up a bit. All in all happy so far.

Well saved me hand painting, painted about 6 panels twice in about an hour with this. Such a time saver just buy it and save loads of time doing wax on wax off for hours on end.

Strong Build and Save lot of time
I used Johnstones fence paint without diluting and it went quite well and had very good coverage and finish with the sprayer… Would definitely recommend if you have a large area to paint.

So much quicker than a brush
We have a large amount of fence around the house and this made the process of painting it to protect it from the elements so much quicker it was worth every penny.
If we had do this with a brush it would have taken days, but with this paint sprayer it was all done in an afternoon.
Simple to use, easy to clean, the only down side was the paint container size means you’re refilling it often which is not the easiest task from the large paint drums needed.

Great bit of kit I’ve just sprayed a 20ft x 10ft summer house in about 20 minutes side’s and back not the front but I’m shocked at how easy this was to operate don’t know how long it would have taken with a brush probly hours

Takes a while to get used to, but once you do it's much faster than painting by hand
Sprayer works well … although with the paint we’ve used (Fence life plus from Ronseal) it required 3 coats (to go from unpainted wood to dark grey). Fence is approx. 45m (and 6ft high) and took about 8 hours to do the first coat as I was being over cautious. 2nd and 3rd coats took about 3-4 hours each. A decent chunk of the time is actually stopping to fill up with paint … but if the container was any bigger it might be too heavy so it’s a trade off. After a full day painting I found I couldn’t get all the paint off the handle etc. – but I didn’t try any white sprit, was just using soapy water. i.e. the paint “spray back” (there’s always a little) had semi-dried on the sprayer. Wouldn’t have been an issue if I’d been faster though!

This has made my life so much easier.
What used to take all day has been done in a couple of hours.
Used both a main line brand and also some red cedar stain on offer locally.
Both red cedar and both water based brushable – did not mention sprayable – but added water in 5:1 mix.
The container on the sprayer held enough paint for 1 full panel and one trellis – ok more went through the trellis than on it but thats what happens when you spray fresh air.
Did all this with a brush once – took 2 days.
Using this took 2 hrs.
Most valuable addition to my power tools.

Amazing sprayer, I did 10 6×6 panels in around 40 minutes and that was having to hand paint some areas as the sprayer couldn’t get behind my plants etc.

Brilliant spraye
A brilliant sprayer for fence panels you can do a complete 6’x6′ panel in about two minutes. Just rinse and spray with cold water a couple of times when you’re finished painting. It definitely saves all that work with a brush. Highly recommend

I bought this to paint my fence. Oh my god I wish I bought it years ago. I have previously used a brush and it takes ages and I hate doing it. This product was very quick and easy to use. It does use a lot of paint and you you have to stop frequently to re-fill but still well worth it. Highly recommend this product.

Used this for the first time today. I cannot believe how it made light work of painting my garden fence. My fence is made up of horizontal planks that overlap. I painted all of my garden fence last Spring with a brush and it took an age. Each fence took me an hour to paint one coat with a brush.. The winter has been quite harsh on it and a couple of the fences needed a fresh coat. It literally took less than 5 minutes to paint one fence with this sprayer. I wish I had purchased this last year. It would have saved me so much time. Once used, it is very easy to clean. Running the parts under warm water to remove the paint was very quick. Definitely recommend this product for painting fences. My next job is to paint my decking and I expect this will be made easy with this sprayer. Would advise to have a practice on some cardboard to get used to the spray action. I picked this up very quickly and my fence was done in no time
Great piece of kit going over fences I painted by brush in lockdown1. Incredibly fast once you get going but definitely takes a while to get used to how much you’re spraying out.
After the first panel dripping with paint I decided that the lightest it could spray was probably the best option and it worked perfectly.
Easy to clean if you follow the video online.
One snag is definitely the cable length from the plug and also it will drink paint on a medium setting. The sprayer also covers a wide area, a positive and negative (hence the need to put masking tape all over my concrete posts and gravel boards.
All in all, a great item that I would 100% recommend to save time. I did 7 panels in 2 hours (1hr just setting up masking tape!!)

I so wanted this to not work like one I had many years ago. Well its amazing. Saved my poor arms so much work. Its super easy to put together. I luckily had thin paint that was easy to pour in.
My only complaint is that the reservoir needs refilling after 1 and a half panels so becomes a bit tedious. But I set up a station and had it off to a fone art once I got going. So sprays everywhere if you have any wind or breeze so watch put for your neighbours cars and your own haha. But if you are careful you can avoid getting it everywhere but be prepared. So it’s taken me a couple of hours max to paint over 25 6 foot panels it would have taken me days. I also have Degenerative disc disease fibromyalgia and arthritis so painting with a brush really leaves me in pain and exhausted for many days. This actually helped me so much. So top tips don’t leave paint in the nozzle whilst you wait for the panels to dry wash it all out with water or your preffered solution. But you must clean it or the paint dries and blocks up the nozzle.

I wish I had purchased this last year. It would have saved me so much time. Once used, it is very easy to clean. Running the parts under warm water to remove the paint was very quick. Definitely recommend this product for painting fences. My next job is to paint my decking and I expect this will be made easy with this sprayer. Would advise to have a practice on some cardboard to get used to the spray action. I picked this up very quickly and my fence was done in no time

I did a lot of research before buying a spray gun as I was unsure if it would be worth it. This spray gun got such good reviews and now I know why. What usually takes me two days with a brush, I did in about three hours (including second coat, not including drying time between coats). You use a lot more paint than you would with just a brush but to me, my time is more important than the cost of additional paint.
It leaves a great finish and the spray gun is very easy to clean. You just take it apart and wash each individual part before putting it back together.
Super easy to use, I couldn’t recommend it highly enough.
A great gadget.
Have used a hand pump type product in the past which was zero effective. Purchased this Wagner Electric unit and used for the 1st time yesterday (weather was perfect). So easy to use, bit of a faff to pour Ducksback Fence Paint into the small container (sure there is a technique I’ve yet to learn). Took 2 hours to paint 50 metres of fence panels yesterday and same again today to give a 2nd coat. Takes a bit of effort to clean black paint off the unit. Would recommend to anyone.
Superb, Straightforward Piece of Ki
Used the sprayer to spray a massive fence. I have used hand crank sprayers before – useless – so took a flyer on this one. It’s terrific. Only drawback, I wish the container had been larger, but otherwise, no complaint at all… trouble free and efficient.

We used this product to spray fence panels and sheds. It was brilliant it took the Duck’s Back paint in it’s stride. Easy to use and assemble, no problem washing it out. Really pleased painted a fence panel in a matter of minutes.

Very impressed. I used to spray our fence with a water based protection. I have bought cheaper sprayers in the past, which was a false economy. This sprayer was so easy to use, gave a smooth spray which was directed by the air flow around the jet.

Was able to finish the project in one day and was averaging 400-500ml per 1.8x.1.8m fence. Only have done one coat and won’t be doing a second as it looks good enough for me.
Tried painting a section by brush and it took ages. So if you are thinking of painting your fence definitely go for this.
Just prepare the area properly with masking tapes, covers and cardboard. I used a piece of cardboard while spraying to prevent any overspray (which was little anyway) going towards unwanted places.

Great cheap spray unit.
Great cheap spray gun, fantastic for fence use. Not so great for detailed or intricate use, and don’t expect a professional bstyle of application. But with the right paint and consistency with decent technique, you can achieve a good finish.

Very happy with this. Makes light work of painting fence panels. Like others I used curpinol shades straight from the tin without the need to dilute. I’d never used anything like this before so I carefully followed the instructions, which are ok, and I’m really pleased that I made the investment.

28 fence panels were taking hour and a half each to paint, 4 years later sol trying to finish it and needing to restart already. Bad experience with a sprayer before. Read good reviews on different sites for this one so went for it. OMG!! Done the whole lot, some two coats, half the paint previously used and done in…… 2 hours! Fab. Can’t wait for the decking to be fitted and shed. Will buy another paint vessel so the other half can refill one while the other is in use, it could do with holding a bit more paint but then would make it heavier so no complaints.

Very happy with this purchase, the quality seems good and if looked after it feels as though it will last many years. Having used it to spray paint 25 metres of fencing so far it probably saved a whole day compared to brushing so on that basis worth every penny.

Proper quality for the money. Has a separate compressor which is very powerful. Sprayed my cabin really nicely. No drips or issues. Needs cleaning every couple of tins. Easy to clean. Wish I had more to paint. Will end up in my shed now for years.

I brought a cheaper one of these a few years ago and it wasn’t very good. This one is an excellent tool. You can cover a fence panel in minutes, the only slight issue is the amount of over spray. You have to make sure everything around the area you are spraying is completely covered. Light and easy to use, I would recommend it.

Quick and easy to use
Used for the first time today to paint about 20 fence panels and I was very pleased with how easy and quick the Wagner was to use. It would have taken me days to do it by brush. The finish was very good.
No blockages and very easy to clean.
Highly recommend the Wagner.
