My 1st G shock
Durable and reliable but you probably won’t be able to see the watch face in low light conditions and the backlight is useless for the digital time. I new that before purchasing and if your like me, that isn’t a big issue because you probably use this in a well lit environment. The watch is bigger than your average timepiece but you’ll get used to it. 4*’s but love this particular g shock.

Great love it, yup difficult to read at night but I don’t have a real requirement to read the time 24 / 7. Slightly large on my wrist but I do have small hands and wrist. Love it.
Solid watch
Excellent watch with great features, my one criticism is that the digital displays aren’t brilliantly clear and the light doesn’t particularly illuminate them either. A backlit face would be better.

I don’t agree with others that the digital displays are difficult to read (unless you’re in the dark). The light will light up the displays as well if you put your finger over it to reflect the light onto the displays.

at the price it’s been sold, this is one of my best purchase till date.
This G-shock is a solid and dependable watch, it’s feels well constructed and light to wear. My only issue is that it is difficult to read the time in anything other than daylight, the light function provides a faint amber illumination insufficient to enable me to see the time and the digital display is too dim.
I did read some posted reviews that did cover this aspect but went ahead anyway so this really is my fault.
I will not be returning the watch as I do like the look and feel of it, it also provides a robustness which is what I require as I start a new job shortly where the watch is likely to get knocked and bumped.
The first and definitely not the last G-Shock watch my son will own.
Great watch and my son loved it when he opened it on his 28th birthday. He has said its a nice chunky watch which looks very nice on. The automatic setup for the time surprised him plus the option to turn DST on/off is a great addidtion to the watch. He will use Casio G-Shock watches for the foresseable future now.
Easy to clea
Ware it everyday, swimming, diving, hiking, camping in hot and cold climates. It’s been with me from Iceland to Australia and has never missed a beat. Easy to clean, it’s had oil, dirt, saltwater, blood, you name it and it still looks good. Screen hasn’t a scratch on it. After four years of use the strap is beginning to ware a little bit though.

Looks great and is just as advertised. It’s a shame the light us just a background light; would have been better if the numbers lit up instead. The strap also broke within a month of having it.

Lovely watch, gives off a real big chunky look with a very sleek stealthy design, however it doesn’t make you look like your wearing wall clock on your wrist. looks really nice.
Casio watch
I bought one of these watches, it’s good lots of functions but can be difficult to set as the users guids printing is so small. The blue dials can be difficult to see indoors and the back light is poor. But overall a good watch.
I read a lot of reviews and spent time (far more than I should have!) deliberating which G shock to get. I do lot of walking/sporty stuff and want a watch that I wouldn’t need to remove for a 4 month trip to Asia. I love the look of analogue/digital watches and the balance of aesthetics and functionality in this watch really won me over.
It’s important to note that the main gripe people have with this watch (and the thing I was most concerned about) is the LED light that illuminates the face. I NEEDED this watch to be usable in the dark so was prepared to return the watch in the event of the watch being ‘unreadable’, as some people have described it as being. I cannot emphasise this enough, THE LIGHT IS ABSOLUTELY FINE. I am aware it’s all down to personal preference, but I have absolutely no problem reading this watch – both the hands AND the digital screens – in the dark. Yes, it’s not optimal – a light behind the screen would be more functional, but if you desperately require that feature you’re better off buying the GD-100 or similar full digital G-shock anyway. The benefit of the light on this watch being where it is is that it can actually be used as a torch (albeit a weak one) in a pinch to illuminate a map or whatever you need to see in the dark. Also, remember that this single LED style of illumination is not exclusive to this watch – the 100+ analogue/digital G-shock watches also use this method of illumination. That’s just how it is.
Seriously – go try this on in a shop and see for yourself. The LED on this watch is BRIGHT and you will have no problem reading the watch in the dark. It also just looks awesome. It’s just a makes the watch look really, REALLY cool. So in conclusion – the light is fine, don’t let it put you off.
The watch is extremely comfortable (I’m wearing it right now!) and not too big – but it’s a G-shock, so obviously it’s pretty big. Casio have managed to get the perfect balance of weight. It’s sturdy and weighty enough that it doesn’t feel cheap or plasticy, yet it’s absolutely NOT what you would describe as a ‘heavy’ watch – indeed it is very light weight.
Really can’t say enough good things about this watch. At 55 (this watch is 110 on the high street!!) this watch is an absolute steal. Comes in a beautiful G-shock tin to boot. Absolutely brilliant, feature-full and practical watch. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Having had this watch and worn it everyday for over 3 years I am impressed. It has survived numerous dives to 35m, constant immersion in water, extreme temperatures and shock and is still going strong. This watch is built like a tank. However, the illumination is still useless as soon as it gets dark making it almost impossible to read!

It’s a great watch, stealth look is great. The only slight niggle, is the light is a bit annoying, another LED colour would’ve been great(orange is the colour of the light)
Not my first G-Shock, but his is terrific…used and abused since I have had it down the gym, sauna, swimming, steam room, playing tennis, rock climbing, DIY drilling and hammering with it on (not intentional I forgot I had it on)…not a problem. i like to put a watch on in the morning and keep it on whatever the situation…Timekeeping is spot on, and love the fact I can have world time (with DST), and another timezone on permanent display…It fits like a glove, easy instructions, and looks good on the hand….a proper action casio watch….love it to bits! Well done Amazon, delivery spot on, a great price, and another fantastic product purchased with Prime (naturally)….

I find this to be quite an impressive watch with a large face so can easily be read. The watch is fantastic. It is full of features that are useful and the watch face is nice and large. I purchased the black model with white hands, and it looks incredibly ‘stealthy’. Also, the resin strap is pretty comfortable and seems pretty bloody tough.

This watch is very good and seems solid. However the screen is very dark and its almost impossible to see at night even with the back light. After a year it broke due to condensation getting under the screen. Not as waterproof as they claim.

Good watch although the instructions were quite complicated to set the time etc. Received it quickly overall no complaints and great service.
The flaws. Would recommend still
This watch is a perfect fit and does not weigh too much. It has a clear and easy to read clock face ( during the day ) but at night the orange LED is not strong enough. Also the glow in the dark hour markers are very good and last ages but are no use because the hands have no glow on them making that feature pointless. I would still recommend this watch even with its flaws because of its design and sturdiness

Great looking, durable watch. Thick strap and casing makes it an ideal watch for anyone with outdoor pursuits or a job that may involve being out in the elements.

Great daily watch
I bought this because I wanted a tough analogue watch but nobody makes them. The contrast of the white hands on the all black face/digital screen was enough to appear analogue and it works perfectly and is as tough as any G-shock.
