A well made simple toy with masses of play potential
Brought this a month ago for my 9 month old and he has played with it non stop. I’ve noticed how in that month the way he plays with it has developed. This is a brilliant open ended toy.

I wish it didn;t fall over as easily
Baby loves the little cylinder sticks. They are fun, good to showcase colours, easy to grab and bite friendly. For a couple of months it has been all about pulling them out, studying them and throwing them around, so if you get this toy be prepared to keep searching these not very big sticks around the house to put them back in place,.. haha that’s parenting I guess. Now at 11 months, she is starting to attempt putting the sticks back into their slots. BUT the bloody base keeps faling over and baby looses interest,it is not steady enough to withstand little staggering test. I wish they made the base wider in order to ensure that the base stays up for successfull and failed attempts to put the sticks in their niches. Come to think about it, I will probably ask my partner to stick tit o a wooden base. She hasn’t figured out the spring effect yet ( I am letting her discover it by herself)
Fun product but falls over too easily
Well made wooden product. Teaches babies and toddlers that if they press on the pegs in a certain way they will ping up high into the air. My grandson is very pleased with this toy and cant resist pinging the pegs. The only reason I did not give 5 stars was because its not sturdy and has to be held by someone while the child pushes on it or it always falls over. Maybe a bigger base would be an improvement.
Most loved toy
Purchased for my 6 month old for Christmas, it is definitely his favourite toy and also amuses my 6 year old who has discovered that their springiness makes them excellent missiles, her father being the perfect target practice of course.

Brought thus for my baby when they were 8 months old. She loved it. At the moment all she does is pull the pegs out, I’m sure in a couple of months time she will learn how to make the pegs jump out.

Wish the parts were large
This toy really has potential, all children who saw how this works wanted to play with it, but the toy is too small. I wish it was larger as the stick parts of the toy get lost so easily and then you have to put in time looking for them under the furniture….

Nice solid wooden toy, but would have been better if it was wider, easily knocked over, and would have been better with colours on both sides of the block.
My granddaughter is 9 months old and has not attempted to put the sticks in the block yet, but she loves the pegs. She just wants to hold on to the pegs and crawl around with them in her hands and bang them together.

Lovely toy with a wide age range
Bought this for my baby for Christmas but my 4 year old loves it and doesn’t stop playing with it. Baby finds it entertaining which is as much as I can hope for at this age but I can tell it will be loved for many years.

I bought this to replace the exact one my Mum bought for my daughter 31 years ago. It was kept in her toy cupboard until she recently passed away . Generations of grandchildren have loved it and so I felt it only right to replace it and gave as a gift for my great nephews fist birthday – he loved it!

My son can spend quite a long time playing with this..
I think it is a very engaging toy for my son who is now almost 11 months old. He would only rush to take out the stick by flipping the whole thing upside down previously but know he is making them pop up etc.
Lovely but chipped
I LOVE this toy! It is simple, fun, it helps with coordination and it is made of wood. However, the colour chipped within a day of use (ok ok my daughter was banging it on the floor but that was part of how kids play surely?). I do recommend it, but I wish it was a bit more durable.

Great little pop-up toy!
It’s well made and a of a good quality. My daughter is now 13mts old and really likes playing with it. Great for hand-eye coordination. It’s a simple toy but I think it brings a lot of fun to my daughter and it probably will for many months to come (as she develops other skills along the way).
Has flaws but good
I like this toy and would recommend it but gave it 4 stars because it isn’t very stable so when you press harder (as children normally do) it falls down. Also I bought it for my 9m boy but it turned out that my 2y6m boy had difficulty learning how to pop the sticks-it’s as easy as advertised. Still it’s a fun toy and for the price it’s brilliant.

Great toy, nice simple design, good price
My 1 year old loves this toy! Its sturdy and simple yet babies spend a lot of time mastering the ‘pop’ skill and placing the men in with their heads up.
The simple design means it can be an open ended toy that he reimagines into other things, hence why we chose this one instead of the prettier more specific versions on here.
The base tips over when my son is too heavy handed but this adds to the challenge. My son is not bothered about the color matching element yet but I expect this toy will grow with him and eventually he’ll match the colours too.
Everyone enjoys a wooden toy
Bring hours of fun for my two youngest children. Both find it funny that they jump. Also good for a teething child as they can get to those hard to reach areas.

Can’t get over how much my baby loves this!
He’s been playing with this for months; first he liked to just pull them out, he has just learned to put them back in, and then the next stage he will learn how to shoot them out.
Great toy
Bought one each for two of my grandchildren, they both have played with them, being a favourite toy, over the year it reemerges and is played with again and again. great for hand and eye coordination, colour matching and counting and great fun when they discover they can make them jump right out! they like the little faces on them and ‘talk’ to them!
One peg got lost (suspect it was ‘posted’ in the bin) but Galt is going to replace it.

A lovely, simple, joyful little toy
This seems the simplest of little toys and it is. But it has been THE most loved and THE most played with toy EVER in my house!! Not only by my own three boys when they were growing up, but also by all the children I’ve ever childminded for. They seem to find amusement in the plain simplicity of it and when they discover that they can press the little figures and make them out ping out there is always such hilarity!
This most recent one I have just purchased as a gift for a friends baby and I’m hoping he will love it as much as all of my children have.

Keeps my 14 month old entertained
Lovely, simple toy that keeps my son entertained. He loves practising popping out the pegs & putting them back in. His coordination has improved a lot. Simple & effective!
Sometimes it’s the simple things!
Very simple toy but like others have said my 16 month old plays with it and doesn’t get bored as quickly as other toys, they seem to love taking things apart and putting them back together, so this toy is perfect for that. Only thing I’d say is keep an eye on the pieces as you turn your back for one second and they’re gone! 😀

Oh my god, I love this so much! My baby 7 months, loves it and uses the little wooden people as teethers! She can’t press them yet for them to bounce (my favourite bit) but enjoys tapping them together. Definitely recommend!

Kept adults and little amused, although requires quite a firm push so the very little ones struggled with that. Good open ended toy
Was a bit sceptical buying this as wasn’t sure if baby would enjoy as thought it was a bit gimmicky. I have rotated it back and forth onto shelves and different locations for well over six months, and must say it’s actually a really good open ended wooden toy, just took time to warm to it’s full potential.
Now 22 month old toddler gives it attention daily. I keep the coloured sticks in a separate small basket and he spends time correctly colour matching the sticks to their corresponding hole, springing, throwing and playing with them. He figured this all out on his own without any prompting, so was pleasantly excited and proud when I first observed him matching the colours correctly.
Overall good toy for engaging the different schemas, colour matching, fine motor skills and language building.

An instant hit with my 8 month old! She loved removing the pegs over and over. I couldn’t put them back in fast enough for her! I was skeptical about this, but after read some reviews I decided give it a try and it was one of my best purchases so far.

Lovely simple wooden toy. Bought for my twin grandchildren (boy and girl) under 12 month old. Both play with it…. The pegs are different colours that correspond with the holes on the block. They have little smiley faces.
The little pegs go into the holes and tap and they bounce out – children would enjoy the unexpected element.
A one year olds dream!
Noise, colours, movement….what isn’t to like for a one year old. My son loved the fact he could continuously hit this and the figures pop up giving him a little visual stimulation. Great toy. Purchased for my nephew also as it’s a great addition to any player.
Quality, fun and educational
I purchased this for my little granddaughter who is 14mths old, I can honestly say that out of all her toys and she has many, this simple toy has given her so much fun, after having mastered placing the pegs/sticks back into the slots, she is now noticing the colours on the block itself that houses the sticks and matching them up to the correct stick/slot. The spring action within the slot added some excitement to her little face when the sticks popped back up and occasionally sprang out.

Great Montessori toy
Bought this for my 8 month old and he loves it although spends most of the time trying to chew the wooden sticks. It’s amazing how quick he has learned which stick goes into which hole – it will take some time before he manages to get the stick into the hole as he is a tad too young.

Quality wooden toy that will grow in use and learning with my 7 month old granddaughter. At the moment she loves to grab the sticks out of the box and put in her mouth. The sticks are just the right width for a good hold with baby hand. She will watch as I spring bounce the colourful sticks out of the box. Simple yet fun with lots of learning opportunities. My son is just learning to put the pegs into the holes, improving his hand eye coordination and fine motor skills. It also teaches cause and effect. And there is also the opportunity to learn colours by matching the pegs to the right hole.
My 12 month old enjoys playing with it and his 2 & 3 year old cousins do too.

What a fantastic toy. My 18 month old has really taken a shine to this. A toy that’s played with multiple times a day. I’ve had my usually stern child’s full attention and loads of giggles for a solid 30 minutes.
I was a little worried about the size of the “bugs” with a toddler that puts everything in there mouth but there was no need, they’re a great safe size and no paint chips as yet.
Thanks so much, I’ve reccomened to all friends and child minders.

+ Sturdy, well made, non-toxic (it’s by Galt, a well-represented brand)
+ Unpredictable bounce, which makes it more fun – lots of laughing and giggles when they pop out!
+ Good for practicing coordination when getting the stick men back into their holes
+ Affordable, so good for a birthday present for a friend’s child / class party
CONS:
– I’m still slightly nervous about one of the stick men popping up into my son’s eye, though that hasn’t happened to date. Perhaps avoid for smaller / younger babies who will might lean directly over it too closely?
That’s it, and I note no-one has commented on this in any reviews, so I might just be worrying too much!
Brilliant toy
You can’t beat the old classics. My friend’s baby loved this as much as my own children did 30 years ago. Well made and very safe and of course more environmentally friendly than plastic toys.
A surprise hit!
I bought this toy after reading the many great reviews, but when it arrived and I took it out the box myself to have a look at it, I have to say I was a little underwhelmed. It didn’t seem to me that it would hold the attention of my one year old. However, I was wrong! Come Christmas morning, both my one year old and two year old loved this toy and have continued to play with it for long periods of time since. Sometimes it’s true, that the simple toys really are the best!

Better than expected
Bought this for 1year olds birthday. She loved it and often goes back to it. The people/pieces are a good size that if she puts them in her mouth I don’t have to worry about choking (still keep an eye on though). It’s great for hand eye coordination and her 3yo sister also loves matching the colours on it.

Got this for my daughter’s first birthday. Two months later, it’s still being used daily and makes her laugh so much when the people pop up! We’ve given the same present to two other friends for their birthdays because it’s super good quality and lovely wood materials.
