Shrinking PVC

Removing Rusted Bolts
Heat the nut with a heat gun if it won’t come off. This causes the steel to expand, which can break the rust seal. Apply heat for about a minute, then allow the nut to cool.

I’ve used it for various projects around the house and varying paint textures (matt, gloss and lead) and it’s performed brilliantly on all of them.
You can adjust the heat up to 600C which on the highest seating more than does the job. The way the heat can be adjusted is great and makes it really easy to control. There is a switch which if left as is, keeps the temperature between 50C-400C. Flicking it takes the temperature to between 400C-600C and vice versa. The gun itself doesn’t feel hot to the touch at all and I’ve used it for hours on end at the hottest setting and had no issues whatsoever.
The tip obviously gets hot so be careful where you put it as I’ve had a couple of occasions where it’s burnt the carpet. Whoops!
The 7 accessories that come with it in a handy little clip close bag are really useful and enable you to use the head that suits your needs.
Overall, it’s great value for money and far superior to other heat guns I’ve used. Just keep it off the carpet!

This was an ideal purchase for stripping layer old gloss paint from window seats and shutters. Would give it 5 stars if the cable was a little longer but fine with an extension cable. Does get warm but fine if wearing gardening gloves for protectio
We have used this extensively to remove multiple layers of paint. It works well and has a good heat output. the tools give the ability to focus the heat well.
Bought to heat back of mobile phone the melt glue so I could remove, and then replace a broken charging socket… Worked well and phone fixed, so happy.
At first I struggled to fit the nozzle for stripping paint onto the gun as mine was a very tight fit but eventually I managed to push it in. No problems with then using it and have used it to strip three window sills of paint. First time I used it in very short bursts but eventually used it for longer periods without any problems. The inclusion of the tools is very handy. The handle on the scrapper that comes with it could be bigger as my son found it hard to hold as it was very small for him but for a woman with small hands that was not an issue but we both felt that the handle could do with been longer as it gets hot from the heat gun.
Very happy with this, comes with a well equipped set of accessories.
Brought it to strip the paint off from my stair case so i can add a frest cote of varnish and it has made it so much easier.
Has a good heat range and will come in use in the future

Good build quality gun that works well and the heat control is a definite plus as is the built-in stand, ideal for hands free jobs. On the down side the lead is a bit short, you need an extension lead whatever you’ll be doing. Also the accessory pack doesn’t do the gun justice. Over all though a good purchase.
This was bought as a gift, so this is not from personal experience. I’ve been told that the heat gun is extremely good for its price, and has variable heat settings and does the job a treat .
Apart from all that an all around decent product for the money paid is say it’s a 4.5 out of five…

Heat gun works very well, I used it to take seven layers of paint off of an old door, very happy with the result. Need to take points off for the heat control though, it seems to have been put on the wrong way around, as in when the arrow points at the lowest temperature it’s actually at the highest, which was frustrating until I figured it out. All over it is easy to use though, and comes with loads of attachments so even with that little fault I’m happy with my purchase.

Perfect little product. Does what it says, used to remove old paint from some shelves and it worked really well! It comes with a nice set and a scraper tok.
Great piece of kit .was a bit dubious at first first but after using it to remove 30 years worth of paint from door architraves it worked a treat .The price was just a steel ,all the different nozzles and tools are a bonus .
My only gripe is that the flex is very short only around 1 metre long .

Easy to use and works very well on really thick paint.
Arrived super quick and I put it to use straight away. Was using it to take paint off the stair bannisters which has taken me one and a half days, so it was put through some hard graft and it performed perfectly. Heated to a great temperature and was used for a few 4 hour stints over a couple of days. Handled the amount of time it was on and hot really well and was comfy in the hand for all that time.

I had tried everything on my stairs when a friend recommended buying a heat gun. I was sceptical as I didn’t want to buy yet another thing that didn’t work. I was about to give up but thought I would give it a go as I want to transform my stairs. I tried it this morning and it work brilliantly, the 2 heat stands are great with the addition of temperature control dial it works a treat.
I’ve only had this heat gun for a couple of days , but it strips the old paint off the wood very effectively.

Attachments an extra bonus – lead too short for gun to reach the top of the door but easily remedied by plugging in to an extension lead balanced on a second set of ladders.

his was excellent used on 1905 wrought iron railings, some areas couldn’t handle a high heat so being able to gently reduce was a great feature, as there was heavily rusted areas…..great to see them back to original bare metal ready to prime and paint.

A great tool with many uses and options. Attachments work well. My only small criticism is that the power lead could have been longer for working at a height above 5 feet. I have to place the extension block onto a stool to do the job. A good heat gun though.
Bought for vinyl wrapping parts in car. Excellent, easy to use and value for money.
On first use I used it hands free to shrink tube some pipe.
It is NOT the most stable!! Is has a very poor quality steel tag that helps it stand on its back. It bends easily and is a poor design as this is supposed to be a professional unit.
I use heat guns as a plumber as this is my profession so I need quality kit.
I gave it 4 stars due to the rubbish rear support.
The temp control also works back to front.
If you align up the + mark on the arrow fully turned up it blows cool, turn the – to the arrow and it get red hot!!
QC is obviously not very good or these bits that stop it getting 5 stars would have been rectified during the prototype process.
All said, it is a good gun because of the wide temp control and dual airflow.
Being an engineer, I would like to have a chat with the design team and bring up the design issues that no one seems to have found at design and production level.
Great to use and temperature adjustment adds extra control. My only issue is with the length of the cable it just isn’t long enough so I have to use with extension lead which lets it down and hence my 4 star rating.
Apron receipt I tried the heat gun but unfortunately is was broken and the fan control button was faulty, hence unable to use.
I contacted the company directly who sent me a replacement heatgun immediately, top class service would definitely recommend them to my friends
Gives off plenty heat with variable control and I like the fact that I can use both hands when the heat gun sits vertically on the bench.

I have not owned or used a heat gun before. The gun is easy to use and the accessories were useful. However, after using the gun on the high setting, it is recommended that you run it at the low setting for 15 seconds, this can prolong the the life of the gun. This is a minus point as you just want to scrape the paint you are removing immediately. In the notes it says ‘The heat gun can produce temperature as high as 600 degrees C (1112 degrees F) can cause severe bums’. So you have been warned! Overall, it is pretty good and is light and easy to use.
Bought a cheaper alternative first and that broke after 2 uses. Bought this as a replacement and the difference is staggering. This is a great tool with sturdy features. The temp control is great and means you can bubble paint but not burn it. Flies through a glossed door with ease once you get a good temp set. Used it remove component from a motherboard, went great. I will use it for circuit board repair mainly. My only gripe is there is not any numbers on the temperature dial and it can be hard to get the desired temperature depening on what you are working on, other than that, all good, thanks.

Spent first 20 minutes cursing this and planning to return it was faulty because seemed to keep cutting out. Read a few more reviews and found one saying temp control switch is reversed. Had another go and success. Ridiculas that this is the case. Turn up to cool, down to heat up! Works fine now I know. Pleased with product now

Easy to use plenty of attachments not heavy to hold.
On first try can’t be faulted.Even if it only works for this one job of stripping two doors of 60 years of paint it will be money well spent.But having previously used a De Walt heatgun it works and feels exactly the same at a third of the price.
Bought this as someone suggested i use a heat gun to remove floor tiles that have been down for over 20 year and i have tried everything to remove them and today i managed it this works amazingly

The attachments are very useful around the house, all are just push fit to the metal nozzle at the tip.. Nice and thick cable and a good 3pin UK plug = safe and ready to work for a long time.
Great product. I used this to heat and reflow the GPU chip on my 2011 MacBook Pro, worked a treat. The variable heat control worked perfectly. I used this in conjunction with an infrared thermometer which is a must to ensure the right temperature is achieved.
