Honest review Does the job
Honest review – due to hairdressers not being open and not getting an appointment till 27th April . I thought I’d try a box dye , and my hair went yellow , after reading reviews I thought I’d try this and this is before and after picture , so happy with the result. Abit bright for me but looks a lot better . Applied it twice left in for 2-3 mins each time , I would definitely recommend , and will never ever use a box dye ever agai

Just used for the 1st time and I love it already can see it taking away yellow tones not all but I think if you use it for a period it would clear all yellow tones, just be careful as it has left a little bit of purple on my hands but that will come off would recommend, only need to use a little bit too which is a bonus! I have very fine hair, easily weighed down with too much product or intensive conditioners. The Fanola combo, is fab forcremoving the yellow tones, but also leaves my hair shiny and soft, but not ‘over conditioned’. I bought this after reading reviews and I love it- and the price! Easily as good or better than Matrix, Fudge, Uniqlo purple shampoos.
I recommended this to a few friends and gave them samples one with similarly fine hair and the other with long, thick locks and they’re converted now too!

I saw this shampoo recommended by Brad Mondo It is excellent. I have hair which is 3/4 grey and white and was going a little yellow at the ends. This shampoo gives a lovely purple tint to the grey and white hair. It seems to be good shampoo also. My hair is soft and in good condition after using it. I leave it on for about 5 minutes as my hair takes time to take colour. Highly recommend

Got this shampoo because I bleach my hair and I needed to get the yellow out. Very strong shampoo dont leave on for to long will give you a purple tint. Wear gloves will turn your hands purple.

This is the best pigmented shampoo I’ve used as a hairdresser of 23 year. I have bleach blonde hair myself and it keeps the yellow tones at bay. Its smells good and has a thick texture so you don’t need to use a lot. It doesn’t dry your hair out like some of the other brands ive used.

Lovely shampoo great for grey hair. Need to leave on for about 10 minutes to get the full effect, leaves hair feeling and looking great. You need to wear disposable gloves when using as it stains your hands.

Best toner shampoo I’ve used and amazing value for money, does not overly strip the hair. I prefer the mask tho as shampoos can be stripping. However I still use this to combat the yellowness once a week the mask mostly tones out the orange as its more blue than purple. So glad this exists as I’ve dyed my hair platinum blonde before and this did not exist then!

I love this! I have tried loads of purple shampoos and they all either dont work or really dry your hair out! My hair was orange… yes I know its for yellow hair not orange!.. i left it for 3 minutes and it came out white! I only use it once a fortnight and my hair is still white with no orange or yellow to be seen!
Superb quality toner shampoo
This is the best purple toning shampoo out there. It will stain your hands if you don’t rinse them immediately after application. It will dye your hair lilac/purple if you leave it on any longer then 3/5 mins! Speaking from experience 🙂

Definitely been my saviour in this lockdown… I had terrible lockdown hair and decided to buy this again… it’s really blended my roots in and taken that horrible yellow brassy colour out my hair.. I now have subtle streaks of grey/lilac and have been asked several times how I managed to get my hair done… thanks fanola!!!

Great stuff! The best purple shampoo on the market, my hair dresser recommended this to me and I can’t get enough. The longer you leave the shampoo on, the more purple & grey your hair will turn. VERY DRYING to the hair though, I recommend using a silicone free shampoo afterwards and a deep conditioning treatme

I can’t understand the bad comments, which could put some people off from purchasing.
It works, 100%, without question. Maybe some people don’t know how to use it, but that’s not an excuse for a bad review. (When you use this product for so long and then read some of those comments, they’re actually amusing, as they just can’t be true.)
If you have blonde hair/highlights/balayage it is the best at neutralising those orangey tones. Check all those before and after pictures, check their Instagram account!
I don’t think it works on darker hair, that’s why they have a different shampoo for that.
Having said that, I have dark roots and when I use it, it works on all my hair, not only the blonde bits.
I have been using it for a few years. There are different ways to apply it. Usually, when I’m in the shower, I shampoo my hair once, rinse it, then apply a generous amount of Fanola (double the quantity of my regular shampoo). I massage it well, until it creates that foam and it becomes a lighter shade of purple. I bring all my hair up, like in a bun, and try to gather all the excess foam on the ‘bun’, as this holds the lighter ends of my hair. I leave it 5-10 mins, while I wash my body, then rinse it well (specially the scalp!), then condition as usual. I do this once a week maybe.
Or, for more intense results, I apply it and get out of the shower, leaving it longer, maybe 20 mins. Then rinse and condition as usual.
Works without fail.
The results are amazing, colour doesn’t turn you hair into purple or blue (that means your hair is really damaged due to bleach, or you just haven’t followed the process right!!). Not to mention the smell, softness and the nice feel it gives to your hair! Feels like you’ve been to the hairdressers, honestly.
It has been recommended to me by a hairdresser, I have recommended it to other people and would never buy another brand. I’m quite sure this is the best you can get.

I have to mention my hair is not in great condition either, but this product makes me forget about any split ends, thinning or hair loss.

Careful with your nails
Nails will be BLUE and hands and skin will be blue. But so far will give 5 stars as it’s the only product which really works. Tried many others – all ended up in return. This one – works.
My favourite shampoo
Got this as recommended by a friend. It is thick purple very pigmented (dyes hands and nails if not washed off quickly) I use this once a week and it keeps my hair a nice ash – makes my colour last so I don’t have to go back to hair dresses as often. Saved my hair during lockdown when hair dresses shut !

Don’t expect dramatic changes in the hair colour but it does change colour slightly. I’ve had highlights in my hair before so it tend to take more on the highlighted hair leaving a streaky look. It does stain your hands but a quick scrub and it’s gone. Will purchase again.

The product is great. I’ve heard loads about it and use it as a toner in my own hair as I’ve read tinder is very drying and as I’ve very dark roots I touch them up myself with 9% 30 volume with developer and this afterwards (usually about 8 hours after I’ve bleached so the pours on my scalp are closed abs I’ve leas risk of a yellow band) I personally have tried it not diluting it in white shampoo and with white shampoo and I prefer to slightly dilute it only because in some places of my hair it’s drier and I don’t want to risk it being patchy. My final results are exactly what I wanted. 10/10 would recommend to a mate.

I’ve always had long thick hair no matter how much I’ve died/bleached it. I’ve always had my hair professionally bleached with regular cuts etc.
Since using this shampoo it has dried my hair out and also made my hair come out in clumps. I’ve lost inches from using this shampoo! Stay away from it all together!

Top tips- IT IS SUPER RUNNY and USE GLOVES or BAGS ON YOUR HANDS. I personally find the smell pretty awful.
I used a high lift blonde dye on my naturally dark blonde/light brown hair which was blonder on the ends. I wanted to go lighter and to have an even hair colour. My hair was left a very golden yellow colour, it was even, my roots weren’t hot but it was too artifical looking. I tried to use a dark ash blonde over it, but it appeared to make it more yellowy. I tried numerous purple shampooing sessions with the provoke brightening shampoo and their colour mask. It was gradually getting more ashy but the purple shampoo wouldn’t deposite any pigment on the root section.
I used the fanola shampoo initially on dry hair but only my root sections, I ended up taken it off after 5 minutes because I thought it would turn it purple (I didn’t), it didn’t really look any different. So I tried again on wet hair, I went through in sections, applying to my roots first and then I left it. Still not a massive difference. The next night I applied to my roots on dry hair and left for 20 mins. I could finally see a change so I left it 2 days and then applied again in sections (like dye) to my hair, starting with my roots, and I left it for 1 HOUR. When I washed it out I was very happy with the colour, I’m finally not embarrased to walk outside and to work.
Some sections which were lighter to start with, turned a little purple/white but overrall they just look more ashy.
I’m going to keep using but as shampoo until I can go back to the hairdressers. My tips: use on dry hair, wipe away any shampoo from your skin ASAP and be prepared for your scalp to be slightly purple, use conditioner afterwards and trust the process.

I have highlighted hair and was recommended this by my hairdresser. Its really good value for such a large bottle. It does help take the yellow or brassy tones out of your hair. I shampoo as normal and rinse and then reapply and leave it in for five minutes. It takes out the brassy tones but doesn’t leave your hair blue or purple. Will continue to buy.

The best shampoo for blonde hair I ever owned. The trick is to use just a tiny drop and mix it with a way more normal shampoo and then wash your hair. If you want to achieve grey hair, you just need to do the same with a conditioner and your hair will look amazing. I had it for years now and I’m so happy I bought it.

I’ve bleached my dark brown hair several times & toned it grey. Due to my hair being so dark to start with I still have brassy yellow tones even after toning. I have tried numerous purple shampoos recently & this is the best by far. The pigment in the shampoo is so intense, it actually dyes your hands. I usually use Tigi purple shampoo but this is far superior. It took the yellow tones away & left my hair an icy grey. I left it on for about 5 minutes & probably wouldn’t leave it any longer.
Like all purple shampoos it will dry your hair out, so use a decent conditioner after each shampoo. Also clean up any mess in the bathroom as the purple will stain grout or painted walls .
I think this shampoo is incredible value, it works better than some toners & it’s a huge 1litre bottle.

This works really well! Immediately began to tone my hair (I left it on for only a minute as I have quite dry hair, but this still worked so well!) and has left my hair a lovely ash-y blonde colour. I do use it alongside a moisturising shampoo, but that is just to suit my hair type. Smells amazing too!

Works in less than a minute. Nice scent too. Best colour refresh for bleached hair out there. Can stain cuticle a bit but nothing that does go with a thorough wash.

I like it so far for keeping my hair on the cooler side. I sometimes wear gloves as it can stain your nails/hands if you’re not careful but not in any major way that doesn’t go away the next day. So far; it doesn’t seem to be drying out my hair or anything like that, but I tend to compliment its use with a hair mask afterwards. Not too strong a scent, which is my preference.

This is a really good purple shampoo. I use it every wash which I shouldn’t as it can be a bit drying. I have naturally blonde hair that is greying and it really lightens up my blonde whilst whitening my grey. My daughter who returned from uni thought I’d had highlights put in.

Brilliant purple shampoo
I leave this shampoo on for just a couple of minutes otherwise I have lilac patches. Using in for 2 to 3 minutes whilst massaging it in creates a lovely silvery hue. I love it and sometimes I don’t even bother with conditioner as it leaves my hair so soft and shiny. Great value too.

Although I switched from buying Fudge due to lower price, nice price but if you’re after a brilliant smell, (it’s not unbearable just a bit not appealing) you might want to cash out a little bit more.

Shampoo has a nice scent, produces good volume of foam but it stains the skin on my hands purple when I use it without gloves. It’s difficult for me to judge if it effectively fights brassiness as I’m using other products too. apart from the skin staining I like this shampoo.

This is great! My hair is naturally a dull blonde so I do dye it a bit lighter but it’s prone to going brassy. Even after 1 use where I left it in for 5 minutes it has made a noticeable difference to my hair. If you use with good conditioner there is no drying at all. It does turn your fingers and hands a bit purple but this came off after using an exfoliating mitt in the shower.

No Yellow shampoo
Great value for money. Smells nice and will go a long way. Colour on grey hair is great I love it. Down side flip bottle lid a bit flimsy quite brittle plastic but I decant into smaller bottle anyway so not really an issue for me.

My hair naturally loses its ashy look and turns to a brassy golden blonde if I don’t use a purple shampoo. This is full of pigment which helps ash my bleached highlighted hair. Be warned it will dye your hands and nails for the first night but worth it!

I saw this recommended online and am so glad I bought it. It has a deep pigment (be warned it will stain your hands and nails so I’d suggest gloves or a hand scrub after using) and is very thick. Lathers really well and definitely reduces brassiness after the first use. I tend to leave it on for 5 minutes and use it once or twice a week. The price is inbeatable for a litre of shampoo! You only need a small amount and so this is even better value for money.

Will dye your hands a little purple but will wash off quickly with soap (and I use a body fairy to give a little scrub to help it along!) dying my own hair over lockdown caused me to look for a no yellow shampoo and good conditioner which lead me to this brand. I have used a LOT of different toning shampoo over the years and i can honestly say that this is the very best i have used. It doesn’t over tone and I didn’t have to leave it on longer than a minute. I would say to anyone using this, to ensure you lather up after combing the shampoo evenly through your hair and to use a conditioning mask after. I literally wash my hair once a week and use conditioner and a mask. The shampoo tones out yellow very well and you don’t need to use a lot of it.

I’ve been using it for months now and I’ve not had a problem with purple hands after I’ve washed them.
Also I’d recommend getting the conditioner which I don’t have yet but this stuff can make the hair feel alittle bit dry after use so you just need some conditioner afterwards to put the soft back into the hair!
Does the job well
I wanted this to tone down my blond highlighted hair as it was looking a touch brassy. Worked but I didn’t use it more than twice as made my hair feel very dry after using. It did tone my hair well. Haven’t used again but I’m keeping it for emergencies. You never know. I made ghe mistake of not wearing gloves and had lovely violet/purple nail beds for day. My fault. But I will probably do it again.

Bright purple and acts as purple shampoo if left on for a couple of minutes or a toner if left on for 10 plus minutes. Wear gloves if you have sensitive hands as it briefly gives them a hint of purple. Works well, not a hint of brassiness in my hair!

This shampoo is the best purple shampoo by far. I only use this once a week but the comments I get after using it people saying have I had my had done again is insane when the only thing I have done is wash it. Only issue is it stains your nails for a day or so but I can live with that.

Recently bleached my hair twice and still had yellow patches (particularly the roots), was on the lookout for a good purple shampoo that wouldn’t ruin my hair like provoke touch of silver, but also wasn’t too expensive. Came across Fanola on TikTok and seen the amazing reviews. Was on offer at the time so was a bargain! It is a massive bottle and if like me, you use it once a week then you will have it for ages! Took all the yellow out my hair I now have white blonde hair !!
Best blonde shampoo I've ever used!
After using blonde shampoos for years, a friend mentioned this brand. I’ll never use anything else now. It doesnt dry out your hair and removes the orangey yellow tones with ease.

Oh my! I’ve used loads of purple shampoos but nothing as intense as this. It lathers time a dark purple and really does the job. Warning – don’t leave it on too long (especially on v light hair) or you’ll end up with purple hair. And wear gloves or else your hands will also turn purple (not a good look).
Mainly neutralises yellow but can also deal with light orange.
