Have been using these for a couple of years, the best for consistency of size, and so easy to light. Very good value, we use them for our log burner, you only need one under a small amount of kindling and you have a roaring fire in minutes. In my opinion the best brand out there.

This is an excellent alternative to pungent petrol-infused firelighters – and they really work! I have bought more than one of these items, but they are shipped in an ordinary plastic mailing bag, and the lightweight carton cannot withstand the punishment meted out by Royal Mail. The item arrives creased and deformed, and the contents can be rather bitty. Whilst I would not normally request more packaging, I think this case might be an exception.

Using for log burner.
These are great for getting the fire going and because they are natural there’s no smell. They light quick and burn long enough to get the fire lit.

Very efficient firelighters. In fact, you could cut them in half and still get the fire going. If using a stove, make sure you use seasoned timber, and check that your stove is “DEFRA-exempt” if in a designated clean air zone.

I bought this product to start my fire in my log burner as I did not like the chemical odor of what I had been useing. These little starters work sooooo well. I only use 1 and 3 bits of kindling and off she goes. I have ever only used one in the 25 fires I have started they are really good. I do not smell anything and I will buy more when needed as they are good value for money and do not leave your hands stinking of chemicals!!

Received a trial pack of these with my new wood burning stove and found them so easy to use that I decided to by a box. Once alight they burn long enough for the kindling to catch fire.

Can’t believe I have only just discovered these firelighters. They are easy to use, light really quickly and burn for a good 10 minutes. They are about a 1/3 of the price of the wrapped lighters I was using before and much more eco friendly. A terrific product that I am recommending to everyone.

Presentation is an odd category to rate for firelighters.
These are a bit like a combustible mini shredded wheat to look at. They light easily and burn well, long enough to fire up a barby. Would buy again.

Don’t even think about buying any other firelighter these are the ones to go for, no smell catch fire immediately and my word do they burn and spread the flames and get all the coals white in about 10 minutes. Why are you still reading this?? BUY THEM!!!!!!!.
Seriously I would give these 100 stars if I could, I used 7 on my 1st BBQ (way too many) I tried 5 on my 2nd BBQ (still too many) I reckon 4 on a round medium to large bbq would be ample but use what works for you, you will soon get an idea of how many to use.

So, I’m not a pro at BBQ’ing by any stretch of the imagination. I often have the same issue which is getting the coal to heat up, using tons of newspaper and fire lighters.
I now use a chimney starter which helped hugely with newspaper and still a few fire lighters.The newspaper creates tons of ash and mess on my balcony floor so I wasn’t totally happy with this process.
Having stumbled upon this stuff, it’s simply amazing. I put a handful into the chimney starter and that’s it. It burns up nicely, no smell and no terrible ash flying all over the place.
A very good purchase indeed. It was my easiest and most stress free BBQ ever!

Used these on my BBQ for the first time at the weekend. Used three to light the lump wood charcoal. I think two would have been enough. Was cooking 20 minutes later. No nasty paraffin smell and no danger of the food being tainted. I was very impressed and will certainly be sticking with these in future. My son was over from Texas at the time and he could not believe how easy to use they were. In true American style, he uses a blow torch to light his bbq. Doh!

I use these for my uuni pizza oven. Chuck one in, fill with pellets, 10mins later on fire! Perfect.

These work better than kindling or newspaper, and they are cleaner to use – you don’t get newsprint on the glass of the woodburner. They were also a good price, buying them in bulk like this. Takes the labour out of lighting our woodburner.

If you need to light fires (bbq, log burner, burning leaves in the garden, etc) then try and avoid using the normal white block fire starters, they leave your hands smelling of fuel and normally come in plastic packaging. These come in a recyclable cardboard box, they’re not individually wrapped, and they catch instantly and burn long enough and strong enough to start a fire.

I thought these seemed expensive but thought I’d give them a try. There are 200 in the box and you really do only need one to light fire, so the box will last me over a year. They are made from natural products and there is no smell, unlike the usual ones which you need gloves to handle. I won’t be going back to conventional white smelly blocks. These are just sooo much better.

Your first instinct is to use several Flamers to start the fire but I’ve found only 2 or 3 are required.
Unlike firefighters I buy from supermarket theses don’t have that horrible petrol smell. They are more natural with no discernible smell and work brilliantly.

Also, if, like me, you always felt you should do things the traditional way, take my advice and get one of those cheap, long, butane-based lighters – they’re SO much better than matches 🙂
